1. After rocket fire, Israel asks Qatar to pause cash transfer to Hamas - Israel Hayom
Israel has asked Qatar to delay its monthly disbursement of $15 million to the Gaza Strip, a senior Palestinian official told Israel Hayom on Monday, after a rocket was fired from the coastal enclave at Ashkelon, on Israel's southern coast, overnight Sunday.
The funds would not be transferred this week and it still wasn't clear if they would be transferred next week, the Palestinian official said.
"Israel sent a message to Qatar that it would not allow the money transfer to Gaza, because Hamas was not honoring the cease-fire understandings and permitting incendiary balloons and rocket fire," the official said.

2. Retiring army ombudsman reveals IDF's 'deepest secret' - Israel National News
Gen. (res.) Yitzhak Brick, the IDF ombudsman who retired today, warned that the IDF is deliberately closing its eyes to its lack of preparedness for war. "If there is a war, the trauma of Yom Kippur will be a walk in the park in comparison," Brick said in an interview with Kan 11.
He added, "We are building the army into a situation where it can give an answer to two threats: Lebanon and Gaza. There seems to have been a change in the Middle East, the Syrians have returned. The main threat that has not been taken into consideration is near us. Our army is built for a region-and-a-half. How do you build an army without taking changes in the Middle East into consideration? It's irresponsible at a national level."
Brick doesn't hold back criticism for the IDF. "The deepest secret of the army, that they do everything to keep safe, is that what happens in the army stays there. They have been doing it with amazing success until today, until this Brick comes and bursts the bubble."

3. Lapid: Netanyahu collapsing under the pressure -Israel National News
Yesh Atid chairman MK Yair Lapid spoke on Tuesday evening at the opening of the party's election campaign and slammed Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu for his statement on Monday regarding his investigations.
"Yesterday we received the final proof of why a suspect in serious criminal offenses cannot be prime minister. It was not a dramatic announcement, it was a hysterical message. I've known Bibi for many years, he's collapsing under the pressure," claimed Lapid.
"A country with complex challenges cannot afford a prime minister with loose nerves. He lashed out at the rule of law on live television as the worst of the offenders do. We will not allow Netanyahu to take the country with him on his way down. There's a country here, Mr. Netanyahu. The country is bigger than you and more important than you."
Lapid continued, "We do have to thank Netanyahu for the past as well. He did good things too. But after yesterday it is clear that it is impossible to continue this way. He will no longer take care of anything related to the real lives of real people. It does not interest him. It does interest us. It's all that interests us."

4. Former Israeli major general: Syria 'symbolizing the situation in the Middle East' - JNS
Former Israeli Maj. Gen. Yaakov Amidror said on Tuesday that the situation in Syria is "symbolizing the change in the Middle East" with Egypt and other counties working with Israel, a prospect that was once remote, in addition to its connection to other regional issues.
"Syria is symbolizing in a way the situation in the Middle East," he said in a conference call hosted by the American Jewish Congress. "One is the fact that after the long [war] in Syria, the decision now is that [President Bashar] Assad is strong again, controlling part of the state," thanks to support from Russia, in addition to Iran and its proxies, such as Hezbollah.
Amidror remarked that the U.S. decision to withdraw its troops from Syria "means that the whole Kurdish area will be under threat from Turkey. And the question is: Is it good for the Middle East or it is bad for the Middle East?"

5. Ex- National Security Advisor To 'Post': Israel Needs To Review China Deals- Jerusalem Post
In news stories that were scarcely noted last year, Prof. Avi Shimhon, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's top economic advisor, and Meir Ben Shabbat, Israel's National Security Advisor, were reportedly instructed to develop a mechanism to assess the threat of strategic investment by external actors in Israel's critical infrastructure. Their task was described as a run-of-the-mill bureaucratic one. But it was clear that Israel's leadership was reassessing foreign strategic investment in the state, including Chinese plans for the reconstruction and operation of the state's largest seaport in Haifa.
This move was long overdue. The decision to work with China on the Haifa port has already rankled US decision makers and has reportedly alarmed the Pentagon. Indeed, there are rumors that the US Navy may no longer dock its vessels in Haifa if the China deal goes through.
China is one of the Pentagon's top concerns these days. Beijing has global ambitions. In addition to its increasing activity on the South China Sea, it has launched new economic and political initiatives like One Belt One Road, which is designed to grant the Chinese a foothold in countries stretching from central Asia all the way to the Levant. Furthermore, Israel's critical infrastructure programs and facilities have become important to China in recent years.

1. Trump says emergency declaration coming without border deal with Dems - The Hill
President Trump on Wednesday said he may declare a national emergency to circumvent Congress and build a border wall if spending talks fail, raising the stakes for negotiations set to resume later in the day. "I think we might work a deal, and if we don't we might go that route," Trump told reporters during a bill signing in the Oval Office.
Trump on Wednesday afternoon is making a rare trip to Capitol Hill with Vice President Pence to shore up support among Senate Republicans, four of whom have publicly expressed reservations about the president's strategy. "This is about the people of our country, and we have to do what's right at our border and many other places," he said. (Read more)
- Father, we pray the American people will put pressure on our leaders to come together and resolve these conflicts over border security and spending priorities.
- You have given a banner to those who fear You, that it may be displayed because of the truth. Selah. That Your beloved may be delivered, save with Your right hand, and answer us! (Psalm 60:4-5)
2. Trump Orchestrates a Win-Win Immigration Plan With Mexico - Liberty Nation
The Mexican government just announced that it intends to implement a policy that supports President Trump's efforts against illegal immigration. Newly elected Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador recently announced that he is implementing a policy designed to incentivize Mexican citizens to remain in their country rather than attempt to gain illegal entry into the United States.
While it is a long-term approach, its success would benefit both countries. He will create an economic "free zone" to provide more opportunities for businesses and workers that will spur investments and growth. The free zone will offer drastically reduced taxes, a doubling of the minimum wage, and other business- and worker-friendly benefits.
Free zones will not produce results overnight, but If Mexican citizens are afforded greater opportunities in their home country, they are less likely to enter the United States illegally. No other American president has persuaded Mexico to become part of the solution instead of contributing to the problem. (Read more)
- Father, thank You for this long-term solution for our border problem and the cooperation of Mexico's government. We pray there will be action taken to set up these economic free zones and increase the opportunities for people south of our border.
- So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith. (Galatians 6:10)
3. Rod Rosenstein to leave DOJ in the coming weeks: Report - Washington Times
Multiple unnamed sources told ABC News that Mr. Rosenstein has already informed President Trump about his plans to leave the DOJ once the president's pick for a new attorney general, William Barr, is confirmed by the Senate and takes office.
The sources explained Mr. Rosenstein is waiting for the confirmation in order to make sure the transition of power between him and his replacement is smooth. According to the report, the decision was something Mr. Rosenstein considered for two years and isn't coming from pressure from the president. (Read more)
- Father, we pray the Department of Justice will be reformed by developing a reputation for equality of justice under the law and prosecutorial integrity.
- You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? (Matthew 7:16)
4. Pompeo Makes Surprise Appearance in Iraq in Bid to Stoke ISIS Fight - FreeBeacon
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo made an unannounced appearance in Iraq on Wednesday as part of a weeklong tour throughout the Middle East aimed at reassuring worried U.S. allies and galvanizing them to take a larger role in the fight against ISIS and Iran, according to multiple U.S. officials.
Pompeo's visit to Baghdad was not listed on his official travel itinerary for security reasons and some reporters were excluded from attending the daylong excursion. He met there with Iraqi Prime Minister Adil Abd al-Mahdi, Foreign Minister Mahammed Hakin, President Salih, Parliament Speaker Mohammed al-Halbousi, and U.S. embassy staff stationed in the country, U.S. officials told the Washington Free Beacon.
Pompeo's next stop will be in Cairo, Egypt, where he will again meet with top leaders and deliver a major address. Jordan has emerged as perhaps the top U.S. ally in this fight, a point emphasized by Pompeo as he spoke at the country's foreign ministry Tuesday. (Read more)
- Father, we pray Secretary Pompeo's mission will be a complete success. Help him continue to improve our nation's relationship with the nations of the Middle East and North Africa.
- Then King Darius wrote: To all peoples, nations, and languages that dwell in all the earth: Peace be multiplied to you. (Daniel 6:25)
5. House Dems to subpoena Donald Trump Jr. first in Russia probe - Washington Examiner
House Democrats probing allegations that the Trump presidential campaign worked with Russian operatives to win the 2016 election plan to issue their first subpoena to Donald Trump Jr., according to a top lawmaker. Democrats on the panel, headed by Chairman Adam Schiff, D-Calif., have long questioned a report written by the previous GOP majority on the affair and believe that those who testified in private, including the president's son, were not forthcoming.
Trump critics and special counsel Robert Mueller have focused on a 2016 meeting in New York's Trump Tower, the president's campaign and business headquarters, between Donald Trump Jr. and others including a Russian linked lawyer. A House report on the affair cleared Donald Trump Jr., who has steadfastly denied any charges of collusion with Russians. (Read more)
- Father, we pray Representatives in Congress will not be able to harass members of the Trump family, Trump Campaign or Trump Administration.
- Then the jealousy of Ephraim will depart, and those who harass Judah will be cut off; Ephraim will not be jealous of Judah, and Judah will not harass Ephraim. (Isaiah 11:13)
6. Trump Cuts Off 'Billions of Dollars' Wasted on Calif. FEMA Forest Fire Payments - CNS News
"I have ordered FEMA to send no more money" to California to deal with forest fires the state could have prevented, President Donald Trump announced Wednesday regarding Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) payments to the state.
"With proper Forrest (sic) Management" California's forest fires "would never happen" - so, he's "ordered FEMA to send no more money" until "they get their act together," Trump announced via Twitter. (Read more)
- Father, we pray for the people and government of California to repent, turning to You and using Godly wisdom to govern their state.
- Counsel and sound judgment are mine; I have insight, I have power. By me kings reign and rulers issue decrees that are just; by me princes govern, and nobles-all who rule on earth. (Proverbs 8:14-16)
7. White House reverses course on food stamp funding - Politico
Trump administration officials said Tuesday that the Agriculture Department will be able to pay out food stamp benefits for the entire month of February - tamping down fears that the partial government shutdown could have resulted in rationing or halting of benefits.
The assurance that the food stamp program, which serves nearly 39 million people, would be on secure financial footing for February marked another major reversal from the administration in the ongoing shutdown fight.
Almost 39 million people receive SNAP benefits in the United States. Nearly two-thirds of participants in the program are children, elderly, or people with a disability, according to USDA. One month of SNAP benefits costs about $4.8 billion, according to USDA. (Read more)
- Father, we are grateful for this short-term solution, and we pray fewer and fewer people will need this food assistance in the future.
- I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread. (Psalm 37:25)
8. Heathens hold religious services rooted in Norse paganism aboard aircraft carrier - NavyTimes
Heathenry is experiencing a resurgence. One such collections of myths, "The Prose Edda" - authored by Icelandic historian, poet and politician Snorri Sturluson sometime around the year 1220 - provides much of what the modern world knows about Norse mythology: Yggdrasil, Asgard and the Aesir, a tribe of gods and goddesses with familiar names like Odin, Thor, Loki, Frigg and Idun.
Now, nearly 800 years after Sturluson's "Edda," a small group of sailors aboard the aircraft carrier John C. Stennis has adopted these deities as the pillars of their religion, according to a Navy release. The chapel onboard Stennis is where Aviation Electrician's Mate 2nd Class Joshua Wood, a once-Roman Catholic sailor from Eagle River, Alaska, fills the duties of Heathenry lay leader.
Wood was just in high school when he enrolled in a mythology class that he says "opened my eyes to the Nordic Gods." From there, he examined the famous Eddas, like Sturluson's, to learn more, eventually coming to the realization that he identified with the polytheistic faith in a way he never had with Catholicism.
It didn't take long before the sailor discovered a group of like-minded Heathens in his hometown of San Diego, one that helped cement his perception of his newfound faith and his place in its community. "They are my surrogate family," Wood said in the release. "They helped me understand the religion, and with their help, I transitioned from someone who was merely interested in the religion to someone who is well-versed enough to lead others in prayer. I went through them to get certified to lead services on the ship."
In 2013, the image of Mjölnir, commonly known as the Hammer of Thor, was added to the list of symbols that can be used on veteran headstones, such as those at Arlington National Cemetery. (Read more)
- Oh Lord, how far we have fallen! We repent of powerless Christian lives. Help us live authentically, so that our young people will not be seduced by other gods.
- Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them fade from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them. (Deuteronomy 4:9)
9. Pope Francis warns of resurgent nationalism, urges help for migrants - Reuters
Pope Francis warned on Monday against a resurgence of nationalist and populist movements and criticized countries that try to solve the migration crisis with unilateral or isolationist actions. The pope, speaking to diplomats in an annual speech known informally as his "state of the world" address, suggested such movements and closed-door policies were turning the clock back 100 years to the dangerous period between the world wars.
Relationships within the international community "are experiencing a period of difficulty, with the resurgence of nationalistic tendencies," he said, making dialogue between countries and hurting the most vulnerable members of society, including migrants. Populist anti-immigrant parties made gains in a number of countries last year, including Italy, France, the Netherlands, Hungary, Brazil and Poland. (Read more)
- Father God, we pray for reform within the Catholic Church, repentance of their leaders and a return to the preaching and teaching of the Gospel.
- Simon Peter answered, "You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God. "Jesus replied, "Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven. And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.
(Matthew 16:16-18)
10. Experts WARN: 5G technology will blanket the Earth with ultra-high microwave frequencies - Natural News
Faster speeds, better connectivity and nearly instantaneous data transfers are among the promises of 5G technology, but what no one is talking about is the cost of this venture. In order to achieve faster speeds, 5G relies on millimeter waves, which are even smaller than microwaves and operate at a higher frequency.
These smaller waves are more easily absorbed by buildings, trees and other things (like people), so more towers will be needed in order to maintain connectivity. The industry has created specialized "small cell" stations and new, larger base stations to accommodate the demands of 5G tech. Even so, it's expected that a small cell will need to be installed every 250 meters in cities for 5G to work properly. There will be one on every street corner.
Internet speeds may be faster, but this will ultimately create an inescapable "blanket" of electromagnetic radiation. Studies have already confirmed that prolonged exposure to the radiation produced by these frequencies can cause cancer. (Read more)
- Father, we pray for Your protection over the lives and health of Your Creation. We ask You to stop the implementation of 5G technologies.
- Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eyes are healthy, your whole body also is full of light. But when they are unhealthy, your body also is full of darkness. (Luke 11:34)

The 1984 prophecy by a former communist
Wednesday, January 9, 2018
Former Soviet KGB agent Yuri Bezmenov, who defected from the Soviet Union in 1970, was interviewed in 1984 about Soviet infiltration methods. Bezmenov said that by 1970 the Soviet Union already had infiltrated the US through brainwashing left-leaning people in the news media, entertainment, politics, business, education, and religion. He said the Soviet Union used a brainwashing strategy called ideological subversion designed to change the perception of reality of every American so "no one is able to come to sensible conclusions" to defend themselves, their families, or their country. Sadly, Bezmenov was prophetic as many socialists, now called progressives, hold key positions in American society.
Bezmenov said there are four stages of ideological subversion. The first stage, demoralization, which takes 15-30 years according to Bezmenov, was completed before 1985. The second stage, also completed, is destabilization. This is where people destabilize the entire nation through actions that are counter to common sense and sound practices. The third stage is creating crisis. And the fourth stage is normalization. Bezmenov said that the leftists that help create these stages are the first to be executed by a communist dictatorship because once they find out they have perpetrated a lie, they become the most ardent opposition. Those who stand against communism by warning others are also executed.
Bezmenov said that the Soviets used brainwashed leftists to teach Marxism-Leninism ideology to several generations of American students. He said that these teachings included feminism, sexual liberation, hedonism, anti-war sentiments, liberation theology, and globalism. He said these students are now the people who are the business, religious, political, educational, media, and entertainment leaders of American society. He said, "You are stuck with them. They are contaminated. They are programmed to think and react to certain stimuli...You cannot change their mind, even if you expose them to authentic information...the process of demoralization is complete and irreversible."
To reverse this process, Bezmenov said writing letters will not work. He said, "There must be a very strong national effort to educate people in the spirit of real patriotism, number one. Number two, to explain to them the real danger of socialist, communist, welfare state, big brother government...The moment at least part of the United States population is convinced that the danger is real, they have to force their government...to stop aiding communism." I will add another way to reverse the process: Mark 16:15, "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." And Ephesians 6:20, "...that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak." Christian Americans must see clearly and act decisively.
Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

Lyrics
Safe in the arms of Jesus,
Safe on His gentle breast,
There by His love o'ershaded,
Sweetly my soul doth rest.
Hark! 'tis a song of heaven
Borne in the sweetest voice,
Echoed by saints in spirit,
Making my heart rejoice.
Refrain:
Safe in the arms of Jesus,
Safe on His gentle breast,
There by His love o'ershaded,
Sweetly my soul doth rest.
Safe in the arms of Jesus,
Safe from corroding care,
Safe from the world's temptations,
Sin cannot harm me there.
Free from the blight of sorrow,
Free from my doubts and fears;
Only a few more trials,
Only a few more tears.
Refrain
Jesus, my heart's dear Refuge,
Jesus has died for me;
Firm on the Rock of Ages
Ever my trust shall be.
Here let me wait with patience,
Wait till the night is o'er,
Wait till I see the morning
Break on the golden shore.

Florida Beachgoers Say Portuguese Man-of-War Washing Ashore
Dozens of Portuguese man-of-war have washed up on Florida Panhandle beaches recently.
Officials said there weren't enough of them to fly warning flags.
"It's normal to have creatures in the water out there, it's the Gulf of Mexico," Dave Greenwood, public safety chief on Pensacola Beach, told the News Journal. "But we'll fly a purple flag when they swarm."
Portuguese man-of-war are often mistaken for jellyfish. However, each creature is actually a colony of four organisms.
The organisms, called polyps, each have a role to play. One makes up the gas-filled bubble at the top that looks like an old warship from Portugal or Spain (yep, that's how they got that name).
Other polyps make up the tentacles, which can deliver a nasty sting; the digestive organs; and the reproductive organs. They can't move on their own - they're at the mercy of the wind and ocean currents.
. . . The tentacles, which are usually about 30 feet long, can still sting after the man-of-war is dead. The sting is extremely painful for humans, but it is usually not deadly. (The Weather Channel)

Victory for Religious Freedom! Senate Republicans Block Reappointment of Radical LGBT Activist in Key Government Position
(Washington, DC)-[Lifesitenews.com] Pro-LGBT activist Chai Feldblum's almost nine-year tenure at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) came to an end last week after Senate Republicans blocked her reappointment from coming up for a vote.
Feldblum's nomination to a third term died last week when Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-KY, rejected a vote to break a hold placed on her confirmation by Sen. Mike Lee, R-UT, the Washington Blade reports.
Social conservatives have objected to Feldblum since her appointment by former President Barack Obama, and his successor Donald Trump surprised and angered social conservatives last year when he renominated her. Lee was at the forefront of the opposition, citing the former ACLU attorney and open lesbian's history on LGBT issues.
He pointed to her past comments that she is "not sure marriage is a normatively good institution" and that society must "acknowledge the wide array of non-marital social structures," warning Americans to not "think for a second that Feldblum's derogatory views about marriage will stay private" as a regulator.
"Feldblum has described modern-day politics as a 'zero-sum game,' where rights for LGBT Americans are secured only by curtailing the rights of religious Americans," Lee argued, quoting her opposition to "individual exceptions based on religious" convictions on the grounds that homosexual "rights" cannot be "adequately advanced if pockets of resistance ... are permitted to flourish."
