The President's Speech

Trump offers immigration compromise to end partial shutdown;
Dems cool to offer

President Trump, in a televised White House address Saturday, offered Democrats a compromise package on immigration in an effort to end the nearly monthlong partial government shutdown -- although some prominent Democrats were dismissing the olive branch as a "non-starter" before Trump even spoke.

Trump announced that he was prepared to back a three-year extension of protections for 700,000 immigrants who came to the country illegally as children and were shielded from deportation under the Obama-era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. This, in exchange for the $5.7 billion he has requested for a barrier on the southern border with Mexico.

"Walls are not immoral," he said, adding that a wall "will save many lives and stop drugs from pouring into our country."

"This is not a concrete structure from sea to sea," he said, addressing some previously expressed concerns about the so-called "wall." "These are steel barriers in high-priority locations."

The offered deal would also extend protections for 300,000 recipients of the Temporary Protected Status (TPS) program -- which protects immigrants from designated countries with conditions that prevent nationals from returning safely.

"Our immigration system should be a source of pride, not a source of shame as it is all over the world," Trump said, before urging politicians to "take off their armor" and find solutions.

It would allocate $800 million for drug detection technology to secure ports of entry, 2,750 new border agents and law enforcement professionals, and 75 new immigration judges to reduce an immense backlog of asylum requests. (Fox News) Read more

- Lord God, we come to You as the God of the Breakthrough, and we ask that this speech, and this new plan offered by our President would, indeed, provide the breakthrough needed to resolve the current crisis. Let Your will be done, O Lord, in Your name, amen.

- "So David came to Baal-perazim and defeated them there; and he said, "The Lord has broken through my enemies before me like the breakthrough of waters." Therefore he named that place Baal-perazim." (2 Samuel 5:20)

The March for Life: Aftermath

5 things you need to know about the 2019 March for Life:
'Life is winning in America once again!'
- Father, we honor each man, woman and child who marched for LIFE at yesterday's demonstration in Washington, D.C. Although the National Park Service no longer releases crowd size estimates for any activity on the mall, we understand that as many as 200,000 citizens actually participated in the march this year. Praise the Lord!

Lord, grant each of us the strength to "keep fighting" until the abomination which is Roe v. Wade is overturned, in Your Name, amen.

- "Therefore, choose life . . ." (Deuteronomy 30:19a)

1. 5 things you need to know about the 2019 March for Life: 'Life is winning in America once again!' - The Blaze

The 46th annual March for Life was held Friday in Washington, D.C., despite the ongoing partial government shutdown.

Here are some things to know about the annual march.

No. 1: The march got its start in 1973 with a seemingly insignificant protest in response to the landmark Supreme Court decisions of Roe v Wade and Doe v Bolton. In the following 46 years, the March for Life has become the biggest pro-life event in the U.S, according to march organizers.

No. 2: The rally kicked off at 1 p.m. local time at the National Mall and featured various pro-life speakers. Speakers included The Daily Wire editor-in-chief Ben Shapiro, Dr. Alveda King, Knights of Columbus Supreme Knight Carl Anderson, Archbishop Joseph Naumann, and more, in addition to President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence.

No. 3: Trump addressed the March for Life participants in a pre-recorded address. In his remarks, the president promised to continue protecting America's unborn children even though Democrats took a majority in the House of Representatives as a result of the 2016 midterm elections.

No. 4: Vice President Pence and his wife Karen made a surprise, in-person appearance at the march. Though Trump himself wasn't at the march, the vice president and his wife showed up to introduce the president's videotaped remarks.

Prior to introducing Trump's video, Pence delivered his own remarks: "Know that you have an unwavering ally in this vice president, in our family, and you have a champion in the President of the United States. . . Life is winning in America once again!"

No. 5: An estimated 100,000 people - at least - are expected to attend the march.

Despite that, the ABC, NBC, and CBS morning shows all ignored coverage of the massive annual event, according to LifeSiteNews. Instead, the networks opted to cover Saturday's upcoming Women's March, instead.

Today's "Women's March"

Focus on Today's Womens' March

1. Embattled Women's March Co-Leader Refuses to Acknowledge Israel's Right to Exist - Restoring Liberty

amika Mallory, controversial co-president of the Women's March and associate of Louis Farrakhan - leader of the Nation of Islam - refused during a recent PBS interview to acknowledge Israel's right to exist. . .

Hoover went on to ask Mallory if she believed Israel has a right to exist as a nation - and Mallory responded in a rather vague manner.

"I feel everyone has a right to exist.. . I just don't feel that everyone has a right to exist at the disposal of another group," Mallory answered. "I believe that all people have the right to exist, and that Palestinians are also suffering with a great crisis. And that there are other Jewish scholars who will still sit here and say the same."

"I'm done talking about this," she concluded. "You can move on." (Read more)

2. Wasserman Schultz opts out of Women's March: 'I cannot stand alongside it' - Fox News

Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D- Fla., once the face of the Women's March, has chosen to distance herself from the organization ahead of Saturday's events because of what she calls the leadership's failure to renounce "peddlers of hate."

In an op-ed published in USA Today, Wasserman Schultz announced she would not be walking in this year's Washington march because of leaders' failure to "repudiate anti-Semitism and all forms of bigotry." "I walked away from the Women's March on Washington two years ago absolutely electrified by the promise of what a movement built around sisterhood and solidarity could accomplish," she started off.

"While I still firmly believe in its values and mission, I cannot associate with the national march's leaders and principles, which refuse to completely repudiate anti-Semitism and all forms of bigotry. I cannot walk shoulder to shoulder with leaders who lock arms with outspoken peddlers of hate." "I cannot walk shoulder to shoulder with leaders who lock arms with outspoken peddlers of hate." - Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D- Fla.

Wasserman Schultz, who is Jewish, pointed to a particular instance she calls "most troubling," where the national movement has aligned itself with Nation of Islam (NOI) leader Louis Farrakhan. (Read more)

3. Prominent Sponsors Bail on Women's March - The Investigative Project

First it was actors Alyssa Milano and Debra Messing. But in recent weeks, a slew of prominent liberal groups has - mostly quietly - withdrawn their support for the national Women's March. The third march is scheduled for Saturday [i.e. today]

It apparently will take place without support from the NAACP, the Democratic National Committee (DNC), the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), Emily's List and the National Organization for Women (NOW). (Read more)

- Lord God, we thank You that there are many citizens in this nation who are not afraid to take a stand, and to withdraw their support for any group that espouses anti-semitism. The hatred of the Jews and of Judaism has no place in our nation, and must be identified and rejected wherever it rears its ugly head.

Father, we praise You that, three years later, these groups and others have now "come to their senses" and, in repentance, have taken direct action to distance themselves from the message of The Womens' March. Amen.

- "Those who err in mind will know the truth, And those who criticize will accept instruction." (Isaiah 29:24)

This Week's Prayer Focus

From the National Prayer Embassy

For the Week of January 20 - 27, 2019

In recent years the nation of China has reverted to severe governmental persecution of Christians and other religious groups, Christian churches in China are being closed, and believers are being imprisoned. One observer has called for a boycott by Christians in America and round the world of all Chinese products until religious freedom for all people in China is instituted by the Chinese government. Recently a Christian boycott in America was successful in persuading large retailers to drop their plans to abandon traditional gender restrooms in favor of transgendered. In 1972 when the U.S. government began its historic outreach to China, it was hoped that helping China economically would over time lead to greater freedom throughout their society, and for decades that seemed to be happening. But not lately.

Let's pray; "Father God, in the name of Jesus, we thank You for helping us to stop the persecution of Christians and other religious groups in China. We declare that Jesus is Lord over China, and in the spirit world we see the Chinese dragon bowing before the Lamb of God Jesus Christ, because according to Your word every knee shall bow and every tongue confess and every devil come out and every nation flow into the Mountain of the Lord Jesus Christ. We thank you, Lord, for helping the Chinese Christians to learn to speak Psalm 91 out loud over themselves every day along with all the other scriptural promises in Your word for protection and favor, like Psalm 5 verse 12 that You surround the with favor like a shield and Proverbs 16 verse 7 that when their ways please You then You make even their enemies be at peace with them, so that the recent persecution stops and their religious freedom becomes better than ever, in Jesus' name, Amen!

Operation Restoration

Operation Restoration

Once each week, on Sunday mornings and for 24 hours, join with others in OPERATION RESTORATION . . .

"Operation Restoration"

This initiative is based upon the Move of the Spirit that was launched last month during Operation Refiner's Fire. The LORD has shown us that He has used those fires to ignite the FIRE of the HOLY SPIRIT to visit our people, which He now yearns to keep burning among our people until the day of His return!

"Operation Restoration" is based on the promise of Scripture, recorded in
2 Chronicles 7:14,15.

It is written:

. . . "and if My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

"Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to the prayer offered in this place."

This is a weekly Solemn Assembly, where saints can feel free to gather each Sunday, to offer prayers of repentance before our Lord, for the many sins our nation has committed before Him.

Abba so desires to hear our prayers . . . He is just waiting to heal us!

You can join us, any Sunday, beginning at 9:00 a.m. EST by calling:
605-468-8850
Access Code: 221654#
Each week, our conference line for Operation Restoration will remain open until Monday morning at 9:00 a.m.EST -- allowing for 24 hours of nonstop prayer before our King of Kings, that He might, indeed, "heal our land." Amen.
Please note: Sara Ballenger will serve as the facilitator on this call at 10:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. every week. You are welcome to join me as we seek His face in repentance for our national sins. Thank you!
