"I will not enter my house or go to my bed, I will allow no sleep to my eyes or slumber to my eyelids, till I find a place for the Lord, a dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob." (Psalm 132:3-5)

[The last words of Jean Ribault, October 10, 1565, as he lay dying on the sands of Matanzas Inlet, Florida. Ribault was the leader of the Huguenot martyrs, who hence dedicated our land and soil to "the God of Jacob." Thank You, Lord. Amen.]

1. After alleged Syria strike, PM says Israel acting against 'enemy in vicinity' -Times of Israel

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday said Israel was carrying out pre-emptive attacks to prevent its "enemy" from establishing military bases "in our vicinity," in an apparent acknowledgment of a strike earlier in the day on alleged Hezbollah facilities across the border in Syria.

"We respond with attacks and force to every attack against us. But we are not only taking action after the fact, we are also denying the enemy capabilities before the fact. In a systematic and consistent way, we are working to prevent our enemy from establishing attack bases against us and in our vicinity," Netanyahu said. In the predawn hours of Wednesday morning, Syrian state media reported that Israel fired several missiles toward a mountain near the Golan border.

2. Netanyahu reveals Israel is carrying out preemptive strikes against Iran and Hezbollah in Syria - JNS

(June 12, 2019 / JNS) Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu acknowledged on Wednesday that the Jewish state was carrying out preemptive attacks against enemy targets, such as Iran and Hezbollah, in Syria.

"The chain of tests that we are dealing with is unending. We respond vigorously and with force to all attacks against us; however, we do not take action only after the fact. We deny the enemy's capabilities before the fact. We are acting methodically and consistently to prevent our enemies from establishing offensive bases against us in our vicinity," Netanyahu said at a state memorial service for former Israeli President Ephraim Katz.

The revelation by Netanyahu came just hours after Syrian state media reported that Israel fired several missiles at targets in Syria near the Golan Heights.

3. IAF strikes underground Hamas targets after Palestinians fire rocket into Israel - Times of Israel

Israeli aircraft hit Hamas underground facilities in the Gaza Strip early Thursday after a rocket fired at southern Israel was shot down in the first such attack since Israel and terror groups in the coastal enclave fought a vicious two-day battle last month.

The IDF said fighter jets bombed "underground terror infrastructure on a base belonging to the Hamas terror group in the southern Gaza Strip."

It said the strikes came in response to the rocket that was fired at Israel earlier in the night, noting that Israel holds Hamas responsible for all violence emanating from the Strip.

4. Israel Imposes Naval Blockade on Gaza in Response to Hamas-led Arson Terror - Jewish Press

Israel has imposed a naval blockade on Gaza in response to the ongoing arson attacks on southern Israel launched by Hamas-led terrorists via incendiary balloons flown across the border.

"Due to the continuous launching of incendiary balloons and kites from the Gaza Strip towards Israel it has been decided tonight (Wednesday) not to allow access to Gaza's maritime space until further notice," a spokesperson for the IDF Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) said in a statement.

Eight Israeli fields were set ablaze on Wednesday alone - one day after a similar number of fires were started in agricultural fields and forests in southern Israel by incendiary balloons launched by Hamas arson terrorists.

5. US says Jordan, Egypt and Morocco to attend economic workshop in Bahrain - Times of Israel

Jordan, Egypt and Morocco have informed US President Donald Trump's administration that they will participate in the upcoming American-sponsored economic workshop in Bahrain, a senior White House official said Tuesday.

The announcement ends weeks of uncertainty over whether Jordan and Egypt, the only two Middle Eastern Arab countries Israel has diplomatic ties with, would participate in the conference, and may pave the way for Israel to be invited as well.

"Morocco, Jordan, and Egypt have told us that they are attending," the senior US official told The Times of Israel on condition of anonymity.

The Daily Brief

1. State Department Emails Show Coordination Between Obama State Department and House Democrat Leader on Christopher Steele/Russia - Judicial Watch

Judicial Watch and the Daily Caller News Foundation today released 16 pages of documents revealing former Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland and Special Coordinator for Libya Jonathan Winer coordinating with then-House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer's (D-MD) national security advisor, Daniel Silverberg to work on Russia dossier materials provided by Christopher Steele.

"Every day of digging reveals more and more political collaboration on this hit job, and at the highest levels. While so much of the media is content to chase Russian conspiracies, The Daily Caller News Foundation and the fantastic lawyers at Judicial Watch are going to keep doing the hard work of holding power accountable," said Christopher Bedford, editor in chief of the Daily Caller News Foundation.

"These documents further confirm the Obama State Department was obviously a way station for Steele's smear dossier and other anti-Trump activism," said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. Judicial Watch recently released 43 pages of documents from the State Department revealing that its "Special Coordinator for Libya," Jonathan Winer, played a key role in facilitating Steele's access to other top government officials, prominent international business executives. - Father God, we pray for the complete exposure of all malfeasance by government employees and those who initiated and funded these schemes.

- Repay them, O Lord, according to the work of their hands. (Lamentations 3:64)

2. Schiff hammers 'collusion' narrative at latest Russia hearing, as GOP slams 'grotesque spectacle' - Fox News

House Intelligence Committee Chair Adam Schiff, D-Calif., sought Wednesday to keep the fire burning over Special Counsel Robert Mueller's report with the latest in a series of hearings on the Russia controversy -- as Republicans voiced frustration over what they described as a "grotesque spectacle" on Capitol Hill.

The spat was the latest example of fraying tensions between lawmakers from opposing parties over the Russia probe. Democrats are keen to continue investigating the actions of the Trump campaign and alleged obstruction of justice, and a number have opened the door to possible impeachment.

The hearing featured testimony of former federal prosecutor and Fox News contributor Andrew McCarthy. McCarthy told the panel that Russia wasn't backing Trump per se in the 2016 campaign. "Putin tends to back the candidates he believes will lose on the theory that an alienated losing faction will make it harder for the winning faction to govern," he said. "It is a mistake, I respectfully submit, to allow him to divide us by portraying him as on one side or another. He's against all of us." (Read more)

- Father, we pray for an end to the Russia collusion hoax, once and for all.

- Despite false visions concerning you and lying divinations about you, it will be laid on the necks of the wicked who are to be slain, whose day has come, whose time of punishment has reached its climax. (Ezekiel 21:29)

3. House approves authority to sue Trump advisers who ignore subpoenas - Reuters

The Democratic-led U.S. House of Representatives on Tuesday voted to give lawmakers clear authority to sue Trump administration figures who defy congressional subpoenas, beginning with former White House Counsel Don McGahn, who is expected to face swift action.

In an escalation of wide-ranging probes of President Donald Trump and his inner circle, lawmakers voted 229-191 along party lines to approve the measure. It authorizes House committees to file lawsuits in federal court seeking orders from judges to compel officials to cooperate with official congressional demands for testimony or evidence. Democrats acknowledged the unprecedented nature of the resolution.

The measure authorizes the House Judiciary Committee to seek a court order enforcing subpoenas relating to Special Counsel Robert Mueller's report on Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. election. The committee is seeking an unredacted version of the report, as well as underlying evidence from the investigation, and related documents and testimony. Tuesday's measure also authorizes the House Judiciary Committee to petition a federal judge for permission to access grand jury evidence from the Mueller probe, a step that Nadler said the committee will now take promptly. (Read more)

- Lord God, we pray the Judiciary will only allow Congress to exercise Constitutional authority and rule against this action against the Executive branch.

- For you have upheld my right and my cause, sitting enthroned as the righteous judge. (Psalm 9:4)

4. WH Claims Executive Privilege As Dems Race to Hold AG and Commerce Secretary in Contempt - CNS News

As the House Oversight Committee met on Wednesday to vote on contempt citations against Attorney General William Barr and Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross, the White House sent the committee a letter, saying President Trump has asserted executive privilege over the subpoenaed documents.

"The Committee on Oversight and Reform is investigating the Trump Administration's decision to add a citizenship question to the 2020 Decennial Census, asking whether each member of a household is a U.S. citizen. Democrats on the Oversight Committee issued subpoenas for documents pertaining to the citizenship question and the deliberations that went into it.

Because the documents have not been turned over, "The Committee has been left with no choice but to move to contempt proceedings and to seek enforcement of its subpoenas to enable the Committee to fulfill its duties under the Constitution," a press release said. Democrats argue that including a citizenship question will discourage non-citizens and immigrants from responding to the Census, "degrading the quality of the 2020 Census and negatively affecting funds appropriated for certain districts." (Read more)

- Father God, we pray for a complete and accurate census in 2020, which would necessarily include the citizenship question. We ask You for favor before the Supreme Court, which will give the final decision on this issue.

- You must have accurate and honest weights and measures, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you. (Deuteronomy 25:15)

5. Scott Walker: Dems' 'Ridiculous' Investigations Bringing Swing Voters to Trump - Breitbart

The Democratic Party's insistence on "ridiculous" investigations into President Trump and talk from some quarters of the party about impeachment will likely backfire during the 2020 election, posited former Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker.

He opined: "The people that hate the president aren't going to hate him anymore and they are already motivated. We saw it in the 2018 election around the country. Conversely, I think it does two things politically to benefit those of us who are center-right and that is it energizes our base."

We want the people that we elected to talk about things that matter. Helping us have more take home pay through lower taxes and fewer regulations. Dealing with healthcare but not in a way that puts the government in charge but embraces free market principles and that treats people like patients and not like numbers or statistics. To do things that get the federal government in particular out of our lives and out of our states and sends power back to the people. (Read more)

- Father, we pray the American people will vote for representatives who are committed to solve the nation's problems and advance good legislation.

- When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; but when a wicked man rules, the people groan. (Proverbs 29:2)

6. John Bolton: 'Substantial' belief five countries spreading lies on Trump team dysfunction - Washington Examiner

"We have substantial reason to believe that North Korea, Iran, Venezuela, Russia, and China have made a decision to - and you can see it publicly - to try to sow disinformation about the administration, and to say that the president and his advisers are divided, and things like that," National security adviser John Bolton said Tuesday during a Wall Street Journal event in Washington, D.C.

Asked about reports about President Trump appearing to break with him on North Korea and Iran, Bolton blamed the media in the U.S. for spreading the misinformation. "The stenographers of these regimes in the American press immediately pick it up," he said. He also railed against a New York Times report that said Bolton was "noticeably absent" from a banquet in Japan that was attended by Trump, the Japanese emperor, and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. Bolton said he was sick and that the Times and CNN, which reported his absence, never reached out to ask why he was not in attendance. (Read more)

- Father, we pray the efforts of other nations to divide and mislead our nation's citizens will fail.

- Do not turn me over to the desire of my foes, for false witnesses rise up against me, spouting malicious accusations. (Psalm 27:12)

7. EPA cuts 40 regulations, saves $3.6B, seeks balance on costs - Washington Examiner

Aiming to erase the "fuzzy math" past administrations used to hide the costs of politically favored policies, the Environmental Protection Agency is pulling back the curtain on costs and benefits, and planning to kill regulations that are out of whack said EPA Administrator Andrew R. Wheeler of his new policy.

The new effort in Wheeler's policy memo, titled "Increasing Consistency and Transparency in Considering Benefits and Costs in the Rulemaking Process," is aimed at opening the door to the secretive regulation process and ending suspicions that politics drives policy. "I really do hope it depoliticizes it," said Wheeler.

President Trump campaigned on a promise to cut two Obama-era regulations for every new one he proposes. The EPA has led that effort, cutting far more than 2-1 for a total savings to taxpayers of $3.6 billion, Wheeler said. Since Trump came into office, the EPA has cut 40 major regulations and plans to axe another 49, he said. (Read more)

- Father, we pray it will become standard practice for every government agency to develop an accurate cost/benefit analysis before imposing any rule or regulation upon the American people.

- The Lord works righteousness and justice for all the oppressed. (Psalm 103:6)

8. Planned Parenthood, ACLU sue Trump administration over 'conscience protections' rule - Washington Examiner

Planned Parenthood and the American Civil Liberties Union filed separate lawsuits Tuesday suing the Trump administration over the "conscience protection" rule that protects workers from being forced to provide abortion, sterilization, or voluntary euthanasia if they have religious objections.

In the lawsuit filed by Planned Parenthood, the group claims that imposing the need to accommodate employer's objections "violates the Establishment Clause" in the First Amendment. The ACLU makes similar objections "personal views do not give people the right to withhold critical health care or endanger others' lives." In the lawsuit the group filed, the ACLU says the rule would cause "significant and irreparable harm on millions of individuals who rely on federally funded care."

The lawsuits are in addition to an initial lawsuit against the rule filed in May. The Department of Health and Human Services Office of Civil Rights announced the rule on May 7, the National Day of Prayer. The office's director, Roger Severino, said the rule guarantees that healthcare professionals "won't be bullied" out of their field because they object to "the taking of a human life." This is a continuation of the Trump administration's effort to protect those who object to abortion, which started with the addition of the Conscience and Religious Freedom Division to HHS last year. (Read more)

- Father, we pray medical professionals will not be coerced or forced to perform against their conscience. We ask You to move these cases through the system quickly and give victory to those who stand for life.

- The Lord will rescue his servants; no one who takes refuge in him will be condemned. (Psalm 34:22)

9. Women Are Aborting Their Babies Based On Incorrect Prenatal Test Results - The Federalist

Making the rounds on Facebook is news that an Irish couple aborted their preborn child upon receipt of a positive test result for Edwards Syndrome, only to discover afterward that the baby was healthy. Edwards Syndrome causes life-threatening organ defects, an abnormally shaped head, and-if the child survives-developmental delays. It is usually fatal within the first year of a child's life, often within the first several days after birth.

The couple was told by medical professionals at the National Maternity Hospital that there was "no hope" for their baby. The abysmal proportion of positive prenatal tests that are false is only as consequential as it is because abortion is legal in most of the places where it is used. If abortion were illegal, couples with positive screening results would not be pressured into abortions by their health-care providers.

Instead, we have built ableist societies in which people with disabilities or life-limiting conditions are devalued to the point where we accept and even encourage their destruction in the womb, and where mothers and fathers who refuse to participate in death culture struggle to find support during (and after) the pregnancy. (Read more)

- Father God, we pray women will be truly informed about the likelihood of false positive tests, and regardless of result, choose life for their babies.

- "A voice is heard in Ramah, weeping and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children and refusing to be comforted, because they are no more." (Matthew 2:18)

10. Illinois gov. signs 'extreme' abortion bill - Christian Post

Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker signed into law on Wednesday a bill that pro-lifers are calling the most "extreme" late-term abortion measure in the country. The Reproductive Health Act, or SB 25, establishes a fundamental right to have an abortion while removing all rights from the unborn.

It repeals the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act, legalizing late-term abortion, even when there is fetal viability, "to protect the life or health of the patient." The bill broadens the definition of "health of the patient" to include (but not limited to) physical, emotional, psychological and familial health and age.

Other provisions in the Reproductive Health Act include requiring private insurance companies to cover abortion with no exceptions for religious institutions explicitly made in the bill and allowing non-physicians, such as advanced practice registered nurses, to perform abortions. The new law eliminates licensing and health and safety inspections of abortion clinics and threatens the Illinois Parental Notice of Abortion Act, which requires the parents of a minor to be notified 48 hours prior to having an abortion. (Read more)

- Father, we pray You will bring these legislators in Illinois and the other states that have similar laws to repentance. In Your mercy, give them a holy fear of You.

- Therefore repent of this wickedness of yours, and pray the Lord that, if possible, the intention of your heart may be forgiven you. (Acts 8:22)

America losing Soviet era stigma about communism

Azios reports a Harris poll for "Axios on HBO" finds that socialism is gaining popularity as 4 in 10 Americans say they would prefer living in a socialist country over a capitalist one. This corroborates a Gallup poll in April that some 43% of Americans believed socialism is good for America. Axios reports that it is significant that socialism is losing its Soviet-era stigma, especially among women, "Popular Democratic socialists like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Bernie Sanders are bringing new life and meaning to the term." The Harris poll indicated that "55% of women between 18 and 54 would prefer to live in a socialist country than a capitalist country. But a majority of men prefer to live in a capitalist country."

The Communist Manifesto says, "But communism abolishes eternal truths, it abolishes all religion, and all morality, instead of constituting them on a new basis; it therefore acts in contradiction to all past historical experience." Other linchpins of communism are enumerated in the Manifesto: 1) Abolition of property ownership, 2) a heavy progressive income tax, 3) abolition of all rights of inheritance, 4) confiscation of property, 5) centralization of credit, 6) centralization of transportation, 7) centrally planned economy, 8) obligation to work, 9) abolishing distinction between towns and country, and 10) a free education for children. Since World War I, America has been on the slippery slope toward socialism.

The goal of Soviet Russia was to infiltrate American values with the destructive social goals of the Communist Manifesto. Former Soviet KGB agent Yuri Bezmenov, who defected from the Soviet Union in 1970, was interviewed in 1984 about Soviet infiltration methods. He said that by 1970 the Soviet Union already had infiltrated the US through brainwashing left-leaning people in the news media, entertainment, politics, business, education, and religion. Progressives are the new communists. Government replaces God. Exodus 20:3 says, "Thou shalt have no other god's before me." People need to be educated about Soviet-era communism so those who are ignorant of its ramifications are aware. The coup before us is against the Constitutional government of this country, including the freedoms of religion and speech.

Have a blessed and powerful day,

Classic Hymns

ONWARD, CHRISTIAN SOLDIERS

"Do not be discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God's." (2 Chronicles 20:15)

Lyrics

Onward, Christian soldiers,
Marching as to war,
With the cross of Jesus
Going on before.
Christ, the royal Master,
Leads against the foe;
Forward into battle
See His banners go!

Refrain

Onward, Christian soldiers,
Marching as to war,
With the Cross of Jesus
Going on before.

At the sign of triumph,
Satan's host doth flee;
On then, Christian soldiers,
On to victory!
Hell's foundations quiver
At the shout of praise;
Brothers, lift your voices,
Loud your anthems raise.

Refrain

Like a mighty army
Moves the Church of God;
Brothers, we are treading
Where the saints have trod.
We are not divided,
All one body we,
One in hope, in doctrine,
One in charity.

Refrain

What the saints established
That I hold for true.
What the saints believèd,
That I believe too.
Long as earth endureth,
Men the faith will hold-
Kingdoms, nations, empires,
In destruction rolled.

Refrain

Crowns and thrones may perish,
Kingdoms rise and wane,
But the Church of Jesus
Constant will remain.
Gates of hell can never
'Gainst that church prevail;
We have Christ's own promise,
And that cannot fail.

Refrain

Onward then, ye people,
Join our happy throng,
Blend with ours your voices
In the triumph song.
Glory, laud and honor
Unto Christ the King,
This through countless ages
Men and angels sing.

Refrain

Melody

Go here to join the Choral Ridge Presbyterian Church Congregation singing "Onward Christian Soldiers!"

About the Author:

Words: Sabine Baring-Gould, 1864.

Melody: Arthur S. Sullivan, 1871

This hymn was played in 1941 for American President Franklin Roosevelt at the request of British leader Winston Churchill, when the two met on board the HMS Prince of Wales to create the Atlantic Charter.

There is a scene in the 1939 film Stanley and Livingstone where Dr. Livingstone (played by Cedric Hardwicke) leads African natives in singing this hymn. It was also sung at the end of the 1942 Academy Award-winning movie Mrs. Miniver, & at the funeral of American president Dwight Eisenhower at the National Cathedral, Washington, DC, March 1969.

Whit-Monday is a great day for school festivals in Yorkshire. One Whit-Monday, thirty years ago, it was arranged that our school should join forces with that of a neighboring village. I wanted the children to sing when marching from one village to another, but couldn't think of anything quite suitable; so I sat up at night, resolved that I would write something myself. Onward, Christian Soldiers was the result. It was written in great haste, and I am afraid some of the rhymes are faulty. Certainly nothing has surprised me more than its popularity. I don't remember how it got printed first, but I know that very soon it found its way into several collections. I have written a few other hymns since then, but only two or three have become at all well-known.

Earthquake rattles Cleveland area,
overwhelms Eastlake's emergency dispatch system

Monday, June 10, 2019

A magnitude 4.0 earthquake centered 20 miles northeast of Cleveland rattled some buildings in the area and overwhelmed one small city's emergency communications system.

It was not immediately clear what if any damage was caused by the quake. The U.S. Geological Survey said the quake struck at 10:50 a.m. and was centered a couple miles north-northwest of Eastlake, Ohio, a city of about 20,000 on Lake Erie.

"Please do not call dispatch unless it's an emergency," Eastlake Mayor Dennis Morley said in a Facebook post. "They are overwhelmed with calls. It was a 4.0 magnitude earthquake and safety forces are working to help where needed."

The Perry Nuclear Plant, about 20 miles northeast of the Eastlake, said the plant appeared to be unaffected by the temblor.

"Workers are conducting a comprehensive visual inspection to assure there is no change in the condition of plant equipment," plant managers said in a statement.

The state Transportation Department shared some very shaky video from its highway cameras.

"Did you feel that rumble this morning Cleveland?" the department tweeted. "Well if you missed it, we caught this morning's earthquake on multiple #OHGO cameras. Check it out!"

Pulse Shooting Survivor: 'I Began Prophesying Over My Life in the Midst of the Massacre'

(Orlando, FL) - [Charismanews.com] Lonely. Empty. Unhappy. Shackled. Not loved. This was my identity for eight years.

I would ask the Lord every night to do whatever He had to do to set me free to worship Him again.

Though I'd grown up with a strong spiritual family who taught me right from wrong, I'd forsaken them and God for drinking, drugs and a lifestyle that drove me away from Him.

The world told me I was gay, that my new identity was in the LGBT community, but at my heart, I missed worshipping the Lord. I was so consumed with drugs, alcohol and, most of all, homosexuality, that it took one of the worst massacres in U.S. history-and the power of a praying mother-for me to repent of my sin.

June 12, 2016, changed my life in a way I never expected.

Three words describe the day before: Tired and hungover.
