"I will not enter my house or go to my bed, I will allow no sleep to my eyes or slumber to my eyelids, till I find a place for the Lord, a dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob." (Psalm 132:3-5)

[The last words of Jean Ribault, October 10, 1565, as he lay dying on the sands of Matanzas Inlet, Florida. Ribault was the leader of the Huguenot martyrs, who hence dedicated our land and soil to "the God of Jacob." Thank You, Lord. Amen.]

U.S. DEPARTMENT OF STATE

Office of the Spokesperson

U.S.-Mexico Joint Declaration

The United States and Mexico met this week to address the shared challenges of irregular migration, to include the entry of migrants into the United States in violation of U.S. law. Given the dramatic increase in migrants moving from Central America through Mexico to the United States, both countries recognize the vital importance of rapidly resolving the humanitarian emergency and security situation. The Governments of the United States and Mexico will work together to immediately implement a durable solution. As a result of these discussions, the United States and Mexico commit to:

Mexican Enforcement Surge

Mexico will take unprecedented steps to increase enforcement to curb irregular migration, to include the deployment of its National Guard throughout Mexico, giving priority to its southern border. Mexico is also taking decisive action to dismantle human smuggling and trafficking organizations as well as their illicit financial and transportation networks. Additionally, the United States and Mexico commit to strengthen bilateral cooperation, including information sharing and coordinated actions to better protect and secure our common border.

Migrant Protection Protocols

The United States will immediately expand the implementation of the existing Migrant Protection Protocols across its entire Southern Border. This means that those crossing the U.S. Southern Border to seek asylum will be rapidly returned to Mexico where they may await the adjudication of their asylum claims. In response, Mexico will authorize the entrance of all of those individuals for humanitarian reasons, in compliance with its international obligations, while they await the adjudication of their asylum claims. Mexico will also offer jobs, healthcare and education according to its principles. The United States commits to work to accelerate the adjudication of asylum claims and to conclude removal proceedings as expeditiously as possible.

Further Actions

Both parties also agree that, in the event the measures adopted do not have the expected results, they will take further actions. Therefore, the United States and Mexico will continue their discussions on the terms of additional understandings to address irregular migrant flows and asylum issues, to be completed and announced within 90 days, if necessary. Ongoing Regional Strategy

The United States and Mexico reiterate their previous statement of December 18, 2018, that both countries recognize the strong links between promoting development and economic growth in southern Mexico and the success of promoting prosperity, good governance and security in Central America. The United States and Mexico welcome the Comprehensive Development Plan launched by the Government of Mexico in concert with the Governments of El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras to promote these goals. The United States and Mexico will lead in working with regional and international partners to build a more prosperous and secure Central America to address the underlying causes of migration, so that citizens of the region can build better lives for themselves and their families at home.

- Father, we thank You that President Trump has been able to negotiate this excellent deal with the President of Mexico. We ask now that these guidelines be carried out to the fullest extent of the law, so that a relationship of trust between our two nations may be strengthened. In Your Name, amen.

- "But let your statement be, 'Yes, yes' or 'No, no'; anything beyond these is of evil." (Matthew 5:37)

Focus on Israel

1. Israel identifying accelerated uranium enrichment by Iran - Israel National News

Israeli intelligence has identified a huge acceleration in Iran's preparations for the resumption of uranium enrichment, Channel 13 News reported on Friday. At the same time, the report said, Iran is sending messages - mainly through European sources - that it is ready to begin renewed negotiations on the nuclear agreement.

The report comes ahead of a trilateral national security advisers' summit that will take place in Jerusalem this month, involving the national security advisers of Israel, the US and Russia. The summit, which is an unprecedented event, will focus on Syria as well as on Iran's activities in Syria, Lebanon and the rest of the region. The US has indicated it plans to stress to Russia during the summit that Iranian forces and their proxies have to leave Syria.

2. Israel's Knesset: Dissolved and in disarray - Israel Hayom

A week and a half have passed since the Knesset's dissolution, but the election campaign has yet to take any kind of shape. At this stage, no one knows exactly what the campaign will look like, what the agenda will be, and what exactly we will be talking about from the moment it kicks off to the opening of the voting stations come Election Day. The political parties have yet to establish teams or consolidate the strategies they will adopt to in the coming months, so that what we have for the most part now is the indiscriminate firing of shots in all directions. It was just two weeks ago that the opposition launched a major anti-corruption campaign with a large rally in Tel Aviv. But two days later, they had already moved on to concerns the state would be governed by Jewish law. The Likud party doesn't have much to brag about either. Alongside the formidable political victories it marked this week, the ruling party has once again been dragged into conforming with the agendas of others.

In the first week following the dissolution of the Knesset, there were two moments from which Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was able to glean satisfaction, each of which he will be able to use as a springboard down the road. The first achievement concerned the successful appointment of Netanyahu's pick for state comptroller, Matanyahu Englman, in an anonymous vote that saw him easily defeat the opposition's choice for the role, Giora Rom. The second and more dramatic achievement was Attorney General Avichai Mendelblit's announcements that despite the Knesset's dissolution, Netanyahu could appoint any lawmakers and ministers he liked to government positions of his choosing, without restrictions and without requiring the Knesset's approval.

3. 'Jordan, Egypt yet to reply, Israel yet to get invite, for June 25 Bahrain meet' - Times of Israel

Israel has yet to receive an official invitation to the US-led economic summit in Bahrain that is just two weeks away, Channel 13 reported Sunday, and key players Egypt and Jordan have yet to say whether they will attend.

The gathering - intended to focus on ways to bolster the Palestinian economy - is the first major stage of the administration's much-anticipated peace proposal. But it has faced a series of hurdles, with several Arab states refusing to confirm their attendance, and the Palestinian leadership boycotting the event and urging others to stay away too.

A senior Israeli official told Channel 13 that during their meeting on May 30, the visiting White House senior adviser Jared Kushner explained to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that Washington is waiting for additional "yes" responses from key Arab nations before extending an official invitation to Israel.

4. Netanyahu taps Likud ally as Israel's justice minister - World Israel News

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has appointed a close Likud party ally as justice minister. Amir Ohana's appointment on Wednesday came as Netanyahu heads an interim government following the dissolution of parliament last week. The prime minister also faces a hearing before the attorney general over corruption allegations and possible indictment.

Ohana is an ardent Netanyahu backer and has voiced support for a bill to grant a seated prime minister immunity from prosecution.

It remains unclear how, if at all, Ohana's appointment could impact the cases against the prime minister.

5. Netanyahu, Mandelblit May Head To High Court Over Pre-Indictment Hearing Date - Jerusalem Post

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Attorney-General Avichai Mandelblit may be headed to the High Court of Justice over a dispute regarding the prime minister's pre-indictment hearing date for likely bribery charges.

The battle over the date is highly significant both because it allows Netanyahu to continue to dominate the news cycle with talking points that he is being victimized, as well as because when the actual date falls, it could determine whether the prime minister will need to resign upon being indicted.

If the current October 2-3 hearing date stands, Netanyahu will likely be unable to pass new laws to prevent his prosecution while acting as prime minister before Mandelblit can indict him. If the date is pushed off even a few more months, the prime minister would have a better opportunity to pass such new legislation.

Because of the stakes and neither side backing down, Netanyahu may petition to the High Court, presuming Mandelblit, on Monday, ends up rejecting the prime minister's renewed request for an extension.

8. Israel Celebrates Jerusalem Day: The Day that "Changed the Fate of Israel" - Bridges for Peace

Yesterday marked the anniversary of the reunification of the City of Gold, the eternal capital of Israel. Just over half a century has passed since the searing summer day during the Six Day War of 1967 when a brigade of Israeli paratroopers broke through the Lion's Gate in the Old City, reclaimed the Kotel (Western Wall) and liberated Jerusalem. Yesterday marked 52 years since the ancestors of Abraham and David returned to their eternal capital, 52 years since the City of Gold was reunited and 52 years since the Jewish people have been able to say, "This year in Jerusalem!"

Since sunrise yesterday morning, Israelis from all over the country flocked to Jerusalem to take part in the Yom Yerushalayim festivities. Just after midday, the main roads in Israel's capital closed in preparation for the traditional Jerusalem Day parade known as the Flag March. Tens of thousands of people-all decked out in white and blue-started from the city center and headed toward the Damascus Gate and into the Old City. From there the route wound through the Muslim Quarter, before reaching the Western Wall for an official Jerusalem Day ceremony. (Read more)

- Make a joyful noise to the Lord for fulfilling His precious prophecies and reuniting Jerusalem under the descendents of King David. Bring the city that God chose for His presence to dwell forever before the Lord, reminding Him of His promises of peace, prosperity and protection.

- Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: "May they prosper who love you. Peace be within your walls, prosperity within your palaces." (Psalm 122:6-7)

The Daily Brief

1. Liberal Media Call Trump Normandy Best Speech Ever - Newsmax

Members of the liberal media had high praises for President Donald Trump's words at the 75th commemoration of D-Day celebration in Normandy, including MSNBC's "Morning Joe" host Joe Scarborough calling it the "strongest speech of his presidency" and CNN's Jim Acosta lauding it as his most "on-message moment."

"There was one especially beautiful moment, and I loved the thought because any World War II documentary you see . . . they will tear up and they will say the heroes are the ones that never came back," Scarborough said after the speech. "Well, President Trump said that that's what these heroes were saying. The heroes were the ones buried here. And yet, he went on to talk about the remarkable life that was created by this generation." He noted that late President Ronald Reagan "set the stage for these commemorations," but other presidents, like George W. Bush and Bill Clinton did not fare as well. But Trump, he added, "had several high moments."

Acosta, who has sparred often with the Trump administration and had his White House "hard pass" revoked for a short period in November 2018, said the speech hit "all the right moments. It really was one of those moments that I think Donald Trump needed to rise to in order to walk away from this cemetery, walk away from this hallowed ground, and have people back home saying, you know what-no matter what I think about the current President of the United States, he said the right thing at Normandy, he did the right thing at Normandy," said Acosta.

"Morning Joe" co-host Mika Brzezinski, called Trump's speech "very good" and said it "measured up to the moment" and was a "true salute to the unity of this day," and another show co-host, Willie Geist, added that he thought the speech was "terrific" and that Trump did a "great job" telling the story of D-Day through the men and women sitting behind him. Washington Post associate editor David Ignatius, also on the MSNBC program, said he thought Trump "hit pretty much every note right" in his speech, adding that it was both well-written and delivered well and that Trump "got it right." (Read more)

- Lord God, You are truly a God of miracles. Who would ever have thought that this day would come? A day when the President's most vitriolic critics in the media would instead pause, and honor this President and his speech. Lord God, we ask that this moment would represent a true turning point in the relationship between the media and the White House, so that these journalists would rise to a new level of grace and dignity, even as they question White House policy. Father God . . . let the healing begin. In Your Name, amen.

- " . . . forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus."
(Philippians 3:13,14)

2. Watch: Dramatic moment US warship almost collides with Russian destroyer in Philippine Sea - Fox News

The U.S. Navy has released footage of the dramatic moment one of its warships almost collided with a Russian destroyer in the Philippine Sea. The USS Chancellorsville, a guided-missile cruiser, nearly struck the Udaloy I DD 572 when it made an "unsafe maneuver", coming within 50 to 100 feet, according to the Navy's 7th Fleet in a statement.

The incident happened at 11:45 am Friday in the Philippine Sea, according to the statement.

Russian state media had claimed that the U.S. cruiser had "hindered the passage" of the Admiral Vinogradov anti-submarine destroyer about 160 feet in front of it, forcing them to perform a dangerous maneuver in the southeastern part of the East China Sea. But the U.S. dismissed their version of events as "propaganda"

It's the second time in three days the U.S. Navy has accused Russian forces of dangerous maneuvers after a Russian fighter jet flew dangerously close to a Navy reconnaissance aircraft in the eastern Mediterranean. (Read more)

- Lord God, only You know all the facts related to this dangerous incident, but we do thank You for keeping all parties safe, in the end. We ask that truth will cut through any deception regarding the details of this report, and for accountability to be rendered, where needed. In Your Name, amen.

- "For nothing is hidden, except to be revealed; nor has anything been secret, but that it would come to light."
(Mark 4:22)

3. American killed in border shootout was attempting to smuggle in Chinese nationals - Fox News

The American man killed at the border in a shootout with U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers Monday night was attempting to smuggle in two Chinese nationals, officials said Wednesday.

San Diego Police identified the person killed in the San Ysidro Port of Entry shooting as 23-year-old Travis James Eckstein.

Officials said Eckstein, a U.S. citizen, "fired multiple gunshots" at border agents at around 7:30 p.m. Monday in an attempt to evade inspection and was killed during the exchange with CBP officers.

When officials went to look inside Eckstein's truck, they discovered two people "secreted" inside the rear of the vehicle. The two were identified as Chinese nationals, both men, ages 18 and 27. Neither person had legal status to enter the U.S., CBP said. (Read more)

- Father God, in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ, we declare and decree a "cease and desist order" to ALL illegal activity that is taking place on our southern border. We say NO MORE, in Your name, amen.

- "Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end; but establish the just:" (Psalm 7:9)

4. ISIS plotted to send westerners to U.S through Mexico border: report - Fox News

A chilling confession from a captured ISIS fighter has shed light on how the terrorist group intended to exploit the vulnerabilities of the U.S. border with Mexico, using English speakers and westerners to take advantage of smuggling routes and target financial institutions. (Read more)

- Thank You, Lord, that this information is now coming to light. We continue to support President Trump in his desire to build a wall to secure our border, and we ask favor for his plan to be extended now by Congress, in Your name, amen.

- "If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it." (John 14:14)

5. Elijah Cummings' wife faces mounting ethics questions over charity dealings - Fox News

House Oversight Committee Chairman Elijah Cummings' wife reportedly paid her for-profit organization with money from her separate charity as part of a cost-sharing arrangement -- a revelation that is adding to mounting ethical questions surrounding her financial dealings.

The conservative watchdog National Legal and Policy Center (NLPC) said that the latest report points to "self-dealing."

"It's taking the charity's resources and turning them into personal profits," NLPC investigator Tom Anderson told the Caller. "IRS law doesn't allow a charity for this purpose. This isn't for the public interest, this is for her personal interest. You can't do that." (Read more)

- Father God, we take note that (as referenced elsewhere in this same article), " . . . Rep. Cummings, D-Md., is currently heading up a number of probes into President Trump's conduct - including Trump's tax returns." We ask for justice to be rendered on all fronts, in Your name, amen.

- "Vengeance is Mine, I will repay, saith the Lord." (Deuteronomy 32:35)

6. Wall Street Journal Questions Joe Biden's Family Ties to China - Breitbart

Former Vice President Joe Biden's family and business ties to China, as well as those of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, may become a focus for voters in the 2020 election, James Freeman of the Wall Street Journal writes.

Biden has recently been downplaying the seriousness of China's economic challenge to the U.S.

"Our workers are literally three times productive as workers in the far east - excuse me - in Asia," Biden said. "So what are we worried about?"

Freeman connects the dots on Joe Biden's family connections, through son Hunter Biden, to China. "It's not clear what value Hunter Biden adds when he does deals overseas," Freeman writes. "But while his father was vice president he seems to have been treated in China as a financier of the first rank. Shortly after Hunter Biden traveled with his father to China aboard Air Force Two, the younger Biden's firm Rosemont Seneca scored a business coup. " (Read more)

- Father God, as our nation now begins to turn its attention to the 2020 presidential election, we ask that all facts be uncovered regarding any candidate, so that only a man of integrity will occupy that office in the next four years. We thank You that the Wall Street Journal has begun investigating Senator Biden's family ties to China. In Your name, amen.

- "Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap." (Galatians 6:7)

7. Liberals move to purge pro-life Dems from party, amid furor over abortion laws - Fox News

The left flank of the Democratic Party is ramping up efforts to target and isolate pro-life Democrats, as the party base mobilizes over restrictive new abortion laws being passed in states across the country.

While the party once tolerated both pro-life and pro-choice Democrats inside the tent, those with pro-life views are being told they aren't welcome anymore. The shift comes as the policy debate becomes increasingly polarized. Conservative Alabama passed a virtual ban on abortions last month -- and some Democratic presidential candidates have openly supported the right of a woman to terminate a late-term pregnancy. (Read more)

- Lord God, we stand in repentance that the Democratic party has now become "pro-death." We pray for its members who sill support LIFE, asking for their protection. Father God, our nation has sunk to such a "new low" in these matters; save us, O Lord, we pray, and show us Your ways again, amen.

- "Those who are wayward in spirit will gain understanding; those who complain will accept instruction." (Isaiah 29:24)

8. Democrats To Host Event With Psychiatrists Warning About Trump's Mental Health - Political Insider

Congressional Democrats will be hosting a town hall-style event in which psychiatrists will warn the nation of the supposed deterioration of the President's mental health.

The event, confirmed to be in the planning stages by Budget Committee Chairman John Yarmuth (D-KY), will be held on Capitol Hill sometime in July if all goes according to plan.

Democrats will call upon Dr. Bandy Lee, a Yale University psychology professor who has been criticized by the American Psychiatric Association (APA) for using "arm-chair psychiatry" to evaluate the President in the past.

"The president's condition has been visibly deteriorating to the point where there's a lot of talk right now about his mental state beyond mental health professionals," Lee claimed. "It no longer takes a mental health professional to recognize the seriousness of the current presidency." (Read more)

- Lord God, we ask that Your spirit would move upon the hearts of our people, that we might discern this scheme for what it is: a plan to attack our president, with absolutely no basis in fact or in truth. Once again, O Lord, we ask for Your help, in Your name, amen.

- [For President Trump] "Yet He knows the way I have taken; when He has tested me, I will come forth as gold." (Job 23:10)

9. Yes, Democrats Have Removed 'So Help Me God' From House Committee Oaths - Daily Wire

The Democrats have continued their mission to root God out of the public square in the name of secularism by removing "so help me God" from the U.S. House of Representatives oath witnesses must take when testifying before several of the congressional committees, all of which are currently under Democratic control. (Read more)

- Lord God, we repent of this action being taken by several committees in the House of Representatives. We stand in the gap, and ask that You not lift Your hand of mercy from us, but that Your holy angels will stand over us for our protection. Forgive us, O Lord, for our foolish and dangerous ways, amen.

- "Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set." (Proverbs 22:28)

Iran, the bomb, and prophecy

Olli Heinonen, the former Deputy General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the agency that is supposed to hold accountability on nuclear nonproliferation, told Israel's Army Radio thatdespite assertions to the contrary by the current leadership of the UN's International Atomic Energy Agency, which he left in 2010, Tehran has not been adhering to the 2015 nuclear deal. Heinonen said that Israel and the Gulf states have reason to worry because Iran has been enriching uranium at a pace to have a nuclear bomb in six to eight months. What did the world expect when America's immediate past "president" gave the terrorist state a free pass on nuclear development and $1.7 billion in cash delivered on pallets in 2016?

On September 11, 2015, Republicans in Congress were meekly trying to break a Democratic filibuster aimed at stopping a "no" vote on the "president's" Iranian nuclear deal, which eventually unleashed some $100 billion in sanction money to the terrorist state. The "president" said it would bring peace. But at the same time the debate was taking place, the Ayatollah in Iran was calling America "The Great Satan" and vowed that Israel would be a mere memory within 25 years. For a decade, the United Nations International Atomic Energy Agency played cat and mouse with Iran on its development of nuclear weapons, saying Iran was not a threat because it didn't have a missile delivery system. That has changed.

In May 2016, the US "president" effectively cleared the way for billions of dollars to be pumped into Iran in reward for agreeing to delay its nuclear program for at least ten years. Many analysts believed Iran would instead accelerate nuclear development. Within months, Iran proved that the White House narrative was deadly deceptive with prophetic implications. In the end of days, Iran will need to be in submission to Gog of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal (all in Turkey), for the fulfillment of the Ezekiel 38 prophecy of Gog leading a coalition of Persia (Iran), Libya; and Ethiopia (Sudan) against Israel. When we see Iran being brought into such a coalition with Turkey and these prophetic nations aligning against Israel, we know this time is near.

The Lord says in Zechariah 12:3, "And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it." Many find it hard to imagine how, for example, the United States would be gathered prophetically against Israel. This is why leadership is so important. The US had supported Israel since it became a nation. The immediate past "president" reversed this backing and by supporting the enemy of God, Islam, who manifests on earth its rebellion against the one true God by terrorizing Israel. The current US president is now faced with what many say is an imminent threat from Iran, bringing with it prophetic consequences of past leadership alliances with principalities of darkness.

Have a blessed and powerful day,

A Just Judge

Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas: A JUST JUDGE

"Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment." (John 7:24)

Submitted by the 24/7 National Strategic Prayer Network (NSPN); reprinted with permission

The Supreme Court's 7-2 ruling this week in Box v. Planned Parenthood of Indiana and Kentucky shows that the end of Roe v. Wade may be in sight! The heart of the ruling is the concurring opinion of the Court's Senior Associate Justice Clarence Thomas.

First, the Court upheld the part of the Indiana law that dealt with the disposal of aborted fetuses. Thomas wrote that the Indiana law "prohibits . . . treating the 'bodies of aborted children as infections waste and incinerating them alongside . . . laboratory animal carcasses, and surgical byproducts."

- His reference to "children" is itself noteworthy.
- NOTE: Justice Thomas has already stated, "The Constitution itself is silent on abortion."

Then, the Court addressed the second question, whether Indiana could prohibit abortions because of the child's race, sex, diagnosis of Down syndrome, disability, or related characteristics. In concurring with the Court's decision, Justice Thomas took the opportunity to tackle the issue of selective abortions head on and discussed it within the context of the controversial issue of eugenics . . . the practice or advocacy of controlled selective breeding of human populations.

- He writes that the Indiana law and others like it, promote a State's compelling interest in "preventing abortion from becoming a tool of modern-day eugenics"
- He concludes that use of abortion to achieve eugenic goals is "not merely hypothetical."

We pray:

- Thank You, Lord, for a man of courage and conviction that is unafraid to speak the truth!

- Thank You also for the concurrence of the Court by 7-2 in this decision!

Classic Hymns

MY SAVIOR FIRST OF ALL

"When I awake, I will be satisfied with seeing Your likeness." (Psalm 17:15)

Lyrics

When my life work is ended,
And I cross the swelling tide,
When the bright and glorious morning I shall see;
I shall know my Redeemer
When I reach the other side,
And His smile will be the first to welcome me.
Refrain

I shall know Him, I shall know Him,
And redeemed by His side I shall stand,
I shall know Him, I shall know Him,
By the print of the nails in His hand.
Oh, the soul thrilling rapture
When I view His blessèd face,
And the luster of His kindly beaming eye;
How my full heart will praise Him
For the mercy, love and grace,
That prepare for me a mansion in the sky.

Refrain
Oh, the dear ones in glory,
How they beckon me to come,
And our parting at the river I recall;
To the sweet vales of Eden
They will sing my welcome home;
But I long to meet my Savior first of all.

Refrain

Through the gates to the city In a robe of spotless white,
He will lead me where no tears will ever fall;
In the glad song of ages
I shall mingle with delight;
But I long to meet my Savior first of all.

Refrain

About the Author:

Words: Fanny Crosby, 1891

Melody:John R. Sweney

About the Hymn:

There appeared in London a man who styled himself the messiah, and for many weeks a large crowd was attracted to him. One night, however, as he was talking in one of the open squares in the city, a small band of the Salvation Army passed along, singing:
"I shall know Him, I shall know Him, By the print of the nails in His hand."
The great throng joined in the chorus. Finally someone pointed at the self-styled Christ and said, "Look at his hands and see if the print of the nails is there." They did as directed, but no print appeared, and they at once left off following him.

Southern California earthquake swarm takes an unexpected turn,
and that's reason to worry

If you live in Fontana, you wouldn't be blamed if you felt a case of the jitters.

A swarm of earthquakes has shown remarkable staying power in the area around the Southern California city. Caltech seismologist Egill Hauksson said the chance that the series of tremors will turn into a large and destructive quake isn't particularly high.

But that doesn't mean residents shouldn't be on their toes. The likelihood of a larger seismic event, given how many quakes that have occurred over such an extended period, is higher than normal, the scientist said.

"People ought to be concerned," said Hauksson. "This is probably the most prolific swarm in that area of the Fontana seismic zone that we've seen in the past three decades."
There have been more than 700 earthquakes recorded in the Fontana area since May 25, ranging from magnitude 0.7 to magnitude 3.2, recorded Wednesday at 5:20 p.m., according to Caltech staff seismologist Jen Andrews. Three of the quakes have been of magnitude 3 or greater.

The swarm initially moved northward, but something unusual began Friday when the swarm turned around and went south, back toward the middle of the activity and the 60 Freeway.

"This is somewhat of an unexpected evolution," Hauksson said Friday evening. Furthermore, an analysis of the earthquakes shows that activity as of late Friday was fading pretty slowly - slower than would be expected for a typical sequence of aftershocks following a main shock, he said.
"That would suggest it's going to continue for - I don't know - at least several weeks," Hauksson said Friday. "We're watching what's happening and trying to track that activity."

By Saturday afternoon, earthquake activity had decreased significantly. "This is difficult to interpret, but it suggests that the sequence is now decaying somewhat similar to an aftershock sequence," Hauksson said. "There will be fewer and fewer events as time goes on."

If there is significant renewed quake activity, it'll probably be from a new seismic sequence, he said.

Hauksson said that, given all the seismic activity, residents should be ready and make sure to store "plenty of water, make sure there's nothing that can fall on them."

. . . Hauksson said the timing of the earthquakes is worth noting: shaking, followed by a lull and then a spurt of new quakes.

On June 14, The Presidential Prayer Team will share all birthday prayers and messages via Twitter with the goal of reaching and uplifting the president. Americans are invited to share and retweet the collective encouragement gathered on his behalf.

"It was encouraging to see the significant response to Reverend Graham's Special Day of Prayer on June 2," said Jim Bolthouse, President of the Presidential Prayer Team. "The Presidential Prayer Team is here 365 days a year to ensure the momentum of prayer is continuous, and that Americans have the tools and resources they need to pray for our country and our president."

Following President Trump's birthday, the Presidential Prayer Team will kick-off its Summer Season of Prayer, a three month-long encouragement to continue praying for the country's leadership. Participants will receive a special weekly prayer schedule for President Trump's cabinet along with the Daily Prayer Briefing, an email that includes daily Scripture, presidential topics and prayer points.

About CHPP

About Capitol Hill Prayer Partners

Our Mission Statement

Capitol Hill Prayer Partners (CHPP) is a ministry which is positioned on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., helping members of the Body of Christ to "pray for those in authority over us" in our federal government. Our primary purpose is to offer intercession on site for the members of Congress and their staffs each day that the Senate and the House of Representatives are in session; and our chief prayer focus is that "God's will be done in earth, as it is in heaven." [Matthew 6:10].
Because Jesus Christ has shed His blood for all, we, too, pray for ALL, in a nonpartisan manner. Also, because the scriptures indicate that "the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" (James 4:17), we are confident that fervent prayer, offered in the halls of the highest chambers of government in our land, can avail much for America. Capitol Hill Prayer Partners welcomes those who feel called to join us, engaging in this strategic work of intercession for our nation: "For there is no power but of God; the powers that be are ordained of God." [Romans 13:1]
