Honoring Memorial Day:

Monday, May 27, 2019

In honor of Memorial Day next Monday, the Daily Brief will not be published. We will return on Tuesday, May 28th.

As we honor this day, please enjoy this rendition of "America, the Beautiful" written by Katherine Lee Bates in 1895.

Focus on Israel

1. Knesset meeting on lifting limits on ministers turns angry, sees walkout - Times Of Israel

Amid a flurry of controversial legislation being advanced by the Likud party, a late-night committee hearing on Tuesday descended into shouting and saw an angry walkout of opposition lawmakers. The meeting of the special parliamentary committee writing up a bill to remove the legal limits of the number of cabinet ministers turned acrimonious when its chairman, Likud's MK Miki Zohar, set a time limit on opposition lawmakers' arguments against the bill. Opponents of the Likud bid to abolish the cap on the cabinet at 19 ministers, including the prime minister, and four deputy ministers - passed as an amendment to the Basic Law: The Government in 2013 - had come to the late-night committee meeting with some 370 amendments and "reservations" they wanted to raise.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu needs the bill passed in the coming days to give him greater leeway to create extra ministries and other senior posts that he can hand to prospective coalition partners. He faces a May 28 deadline to submit his new coalition for the required Knesset confidence vote. (Read more)

- Heavenly Father, we lift of Prime Minister Netanyahu to You. We ask for divine wisdom and understanding to be released on him. We ask You to cover him completely in your protection and love as he sets about to form this government. We pray for Your will, Abba, we pray that every member of the Knesset be willing to lay aside selfish ambitions and sincerely want to work together with others for the benefit of Israel. We pray for patience, understanding, peace, and a willingness to listen be given to each one. In the name of Yeshua, amen.

2. Netanyahu's pre-indictment hearing postponed until October - Times Of Israel

Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit on Wednesday agreed to postpone the pre-indictment hearing for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in three criminal cases by almost three months.

The hearing had been scheduled for July 10 - three months after the investigation material was made available to Netanyahu's lawyers, who took more than a month to collect it - but will now be held on October 2-3, Mandelblit announced. If needed, a third day would be added the following week.

Netanyahu's attorneys had asked the attorney general for a full-year delay, arguing that the scope of the documents was too large to review in three months. Mandelblit refused that request, saying it was not in the public interest. (Read more)

- Thank You, Father, that this hearing has been postponed. We continue to pray your blessings to rest upon the Prime Minister of Israel, as justice is served.

3. Security Breach Exposes Travel Plans of Israeli Prime Minister, Senior Security Agents - Algemeiner

CTech - Information about the international travel plans of the Israeli prime minister, other high-ranking Israeli diplomats, and senior agents of the country's security agencies was leaked following a recent security breach, according to one person who spoke to Calcalist on condition of anonymity. That person identified himself as the hacker who discovered the breach, which compromised the database of alp.co.il, an online platform used by Israeli travel agents to book flights and hotels and submit visa applications.

Calcalist reviewed some of the leaked data and consequently informed the Israeli National Cyber Directorate of the leak. The breach has since been addressed.

Alp.co.il is used by popular Israeli online travel booking services such as Gulliver.co.il, Issta.co.il, and governmental travel agency Inbal, which handles flight bookings and other travel-related services for all government employees. The system used by alp.co.il was developed by the Israeli subsidiary of Madrid-based travel technology company Amadeus IT Group SA.

The leaked database contains the personal details and email addresses of millions of Israelis. Among the compromised email addresses is the one to which the travel booking confirmation of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his family is sent, the person said. According to him, the Netanyahu family itineraries were sent to the address bibitheking@gmail.com, Bibi being Netanyahu's commonly used moniker. In a comment to Calcalist, the Prime Minister's Office said they are unfamiliar with the email account. (Read more)

- Abba, we ask for protection for Prime Minister Netanyahu and all other security agents and diplomats that have had their information breached. We pray that any leaked data would not be allowed to succeed in any plans of destruction or harm. We ask You to send Your angels to protect and battle against the forces trying to come against the Prime Minister. We pray in the name of Yeshua, amen.

4. Smuggling of millions of balloons to Gaza thwarted - Israel National News

Millions of balloons from China have been prevented from being smuggled into Gaza. Following early intelligence information received by the Tax Authority, containers were found in the port of Ashdod where the balloons, in the colors of the Palestinian Authority, were stored.

The balloons were supposed to arrive in Gaza and serve as incendiary balloons to be launched into Israeli territory.

The Ashkelon Magistrates' Court today accepted the request of the YASAM unit of the Customs House of Ashdod and ordered the release under restrictive conditions of David Cohen (50), owner of DC Logistics Ltd. , suspected of importing hundreds of thousands of balloons, in the colors of the Palestinian Authority, using his Israeli citizenship to evade security checks.

According to the detention request, the customs unit of Ashdod Customs House accumulated intelligence information indicating that DC Logistics Ltd., owned by the suspect, intends to import a huge quantity of balloons and transfer them immediately to a resident of Hevron who intended to transfer them gradually to Gaza. (Read more)

- Father, we give You thanks and praise that the delivery of these balloons was stopped. We thank You that the enemy's plan for that shipment has been stopped. We pray that You would continue to protect Israel against plans such as this; against the delivery of anything that is meant to be a weapon against Israel. We ask this in the name of Yeshua, amen.

5. World Health Organization passes resolution faulting Israel for Palestinian crisis - JNS

(May 22, 2019 / JNS) The World Health Organization passed a resolution accusing Israel of perpetuating a health crisis in the Palestinian territories.

The tally was 96 in favor, 11 against and 21 abstaining. Voting against the measure were the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, Brazil, Germany, Czech Republic, Guatemala, Honduras, Hungary and, of course, Israel.

"The World Health Organization has, yet again, demonstrated the pervasive double standards within the United Nations which single out Israel for condemnation while absolving the Palestinian authorities of any wrongdoing or responsibility in the territories under their control," said World Jewish Congress president Ronald S. Lauder.

"As in the U.N. General Assembly, the Human Rights Council, the Commission on the Status of Women and other bodies, the World Health Organization has debated only one country-specific resolution at this session, despite scores of conflicted regions where the deterioration of health continues to pose an alarming and pressing threat. (Read more)

- Father, once again lies have been believed about Israel. Abba, we cry out against the double standard toward Israel by nations, leaders, and organizations. They turn a blind eye to the deception and corruption of the Palestinian Authority, while condemning Israel on no basis of fact whatsoever. We pray for righteous justice, Father. In the name of Yeshua, amen.

The Daily Brief

1. Trump busts up infrastructure meeting after Pelosi accuses him of cover-up - Washington Examiner

President Trump canceled a scheduled meeting on infrastructure with Democrats on Wednesday, saying he was upset about claims he engaged in a cover-up and Democrats' use of "the I-word," meaning impeachment.

"Instead of walking in happily into a meeting, I walk in to look at people that have just said that I was doing a cover-up. I don't do cover-ups," Trump said, speaking in the Rose Garden about 25 minutes after the scheduled start of the meeting with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y.

"I walked into the room and I told Sen. Schumer, Speaker Pelosi, 'I want to do infrastructure. I want to do it more than you want to do it. I would be really good at that. That's what I do. But you know what? You can't do it under these circumstances. So get these phony investigations over with,'" Trump said.

-Father, we pray Speaker Pelosi will end the House investigations that are harassing the President and focus on legislation needed by the American people.

-Lord, how they have increased who trouble me! Many are they who rise up against me. But You, O Lord, are a shield for me, my glory and the One who lifts up my head. (Psalm 3:1,3)

2. Republican wins special House election in Pennsylvania - The Hill

Fred Keller, a Republican state representative, beat Democrat Marc Friedenberg in the race to represent Pennsylvania's 12th District on Tuesday. Keller's victory means that the north-central Pennsylvania district will remain in Republican hands after former Rep. Tom Marino (R-Pa.) stepped down in January.

The 12th District still tilts heavily in the GOP's favor, unlike several districts in Pennsylvania that became more competitive for Democrats after the state Supreme Court ordered the state's congressional lines to be redrawn.

Keller also got a last-minute boost on Monday when Trump held a rally in Montoursville, inside the 12th District, to campaign with the GOP hopeful. While the national parties have largely stayed out of the 12th District special election, Keller's campaign tested some of the messaging that Republicans are hoping to use in 2020 such as health care and infrastructure.

-Father, we pray the people of Pennsylvania will continue to choose leaders who will advocate for life, limited government and family values.

-Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life. (Psalm 143:8)

3. Tlaib and Omar Host Historic Ramadan Feast at the U.S. Capitol - Haaretz

Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib and André Carson, three Muslim members of the U.S. Congress, hosted a historic iftar meal in the U.S. Capitol. It was the first time the celebration which breaks the Ramadan fast was hosted by Congress' own Muslim members. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi was set to address the event, which would also have been a historic first, but she had to bow out at the last minute "because of an unspecified emergency."

House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, Senate Minority Whip Dick Durbin and Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez also attended the event. Khizr Khan, the Gold Star father who was mocked by then-candidate Donald Trump during the 2016 presidential race was also in attendance.

Omar addressed the gathering, which was co-hosted by the civil rights group Muslim Advocates, and said she remembered how Trump had criticized Khan's wife by saying he wasn't sure if Muslim women were allowed to speak. "Little did they know they were going to get the two loudest Muslim women in the country in Congress!" Omar said to loud applause.

-Father God, we know each person who participated in this event is someone You love and want to be in right relationship with You. We pray all of them would truly seek Truth, and find You waiting for them.

-Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. (John 14:6)

4. 'Unprecedented power': William Barr blasts federal judges over nationwide injunctions - Washington Times

Attorney General William P. Barr on Tuesday railed against federal courts issuing nationwide injunctions blocking President Trump from implementing his policies, saying they wield "unprecedented power." In a speech before the American Law Institute, Mr. Barr said such injunctions block politicians of all stripes from enacting the voters' will.

"One judge can, in effect, cancel the policy with the stroke of the pen," he said. "No official in the United States government can exercise that kind of nationwide power, with the sole exception of the president. And the Constitution subjects him to nationwide election, among other constitutional checks, as a prerequisite to wielding that power."

Mr. Barr's remarks come roughly one week after Vice President Mike Pence announced the Trump administration will seek to end the authority of district judges to order nationwide injunctions. Since Mr. Trump took office, federal courts have issued 37 nationwide injunctions against his policies. Mr. Barr said the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA, fight is emblematic of the problems caused by nationwide injunctions.

5. Wife of accused Green Beret in line for Trump pardon says Army 'riddled with corruption at the highest levels' - Washington Examiner

The wife of Maj. Mathew Golsteyn, the former Green Beret accused of the 2010 murder of a Taliban bomb-maker, said that a pardon from President Trump "would end the eight year long nightmare" her husband has been living since being investigated.

Julie Golsteyn was speaking to the Washington Examiner after reports Trump is reviewing several high-profile military criminal cases for potential pardons on Memorial Day. The Army announced last week it would take Golsteyn's case to trial by court-martial on charges of premeditated murder.

"I was disappointed, but not surprised," she said. "The people in charge have shown zero ability to make a sensible decision in Matt's case [eight] years ago. We didn't expect them to start now or ever - it is win at all costs for them. We can only expect lies and subterfuge at every step."

She slammed the Army for pursuing charges against Golsteyn, 38, after he spoke about the incident during a 2011 job interview with the CIA. Golsteyn had been awarded a Silver Star for his bravery in 2010 but was stripped of it, along with a Special Forces tab, in 2015.

"It is heart wrenching for our family and friends to see us and our children suffer through this absurdity," she said. "It is painful to watch Matt explain to his 12-year-old son how the institution that he loves so much and served so well is out to destroy him in the name of retaliation and opportunism." Golsteyn has yet to go to trial, but Trump has the authority to pardon him beforehand.

-For He looked down from the height of His sanctuary; from heaven the Lord viewed the earth, to hear the groaning of the prisoner, to release those appointed to death, (Psalm 102:19-20)

6. Cruz Launches Investigation into Yale Law School's Treatment of Christian Students, Organizations - CNS News

"U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), chairman of the Senate Committee on the Judiciary's Subcommittee on the Constitution, on Monday sent a letter to Yale Law School requesting that the school turn over documents related to its discriminatory policy against students serving in organizations professing traditional Christian views or adhering to traditional sexual ethics.

"The letter follows Sen. Cruz's letter in April, where he notified Yale Law School's Dean Heather Gerken of his intent to investigate Yale's policy, which he described as brought about by "unconstitutional animus and a specific discriminatory intent both to blacklist Christian organizations and to punish Yale students whose values or religious faith lead them to work there."

In particular, Cruz asks for information on how much public interest funding has been provided to abortion activist and other liberal groups, such as Planned Parenthood, compared to conservative organizations like The Heritage Foundation and The Beckett Fund. The letter also asks Yale to disclose the amount of funding, of any kind, the school receives from the federal government.

7. Armed Antifa group calls for "revolutionary resistance" against Trump - LeftWingWatch

The "Revolutionary Abolitionist Movement (RAM)" is a militant far-left extremist movement that claims to have six active cells across the U.S. This group openly supports foreign Communist soldiers like the IRPGF and others, and routinely organizes domestic criminal activity using their Facebook and Twitter accounts.

They have coordinated campaigns to destroy Christopher Columbus statues and even bragged about their "success" on their social media platforms, they have encouraged their Facebook followers to burn down luxury housing developments, and they do all of this without any consequences from the big tech companies or the law enforcement community.

Now, they are escalating their rhetoric and have called for "revolutionary resistance" against Donald Trump. This extremist group's social media footprint is littered with images and posts that glorify armed struggle and openly advocate for physical confrontation with people they believe to be "fascists".

8. Trump Calls for an Investigation Into Biden Family's Links With the Chinese Regime - Epoch Times

President Donald Trump said former Vice President Joe Biden should be investigated over allegations that his son's investment firm received millions of dollars from the Chinese communist regime.

The allegations, which relate to Biden's son Hunter Biden, were first raised in the 2018 book "Secret Empires: How the American Political Class Hides Corruption and Enriches Family and Friends" by author Peter Schweizer.

"In December of 2013, Hunter Biden flies on Air Force 2 to Beijing, China, with his father. His father meets with Chinese officials, he's very soft on Beijing. Ten days after they return Hunter Biden's small private equity firm called Rosemont Seneca Partners gets a $1 billion private equity deal with the Chinese government. "And what people need to realize is Hunter Biden has no background in China, he has no background in private equity, the deal he got in the Shanghai free-trade zone, nobody else had."

9. Dem Leaders Side With Iran as Trump Admin Seeks to Counter Terror Regime - FreeBeacon

Sen. Richard Durbin (D., Ill.) and other top Democrats lashed out at the Trump administration over its efforts to isolate the Iranian regime, claiming in talking points that mirror those from Iranian leadership that President Donald Trump and his national security team are "itching for a confrontation with Iran."

The Democrats, who have sought to obstruct the administration since it pulled out of the Obama administration's signature foreign policy achievement, the Iran nuclear deal, have sought to stake out a foreign policy that sides with Tehran in the ongoing dispute, which has seen the Islamic Republic sponsor a series of terror attacks in the Middle East, including against American military assets.

"Democrats are becoming the party of Iran," said one senior congressional source. "They're echoing talking points against President Trump that they're getting from Iran's Foreign Minister Zarif. They're saying we're the ones provoking Iran because we labeled the IRGC a terrorist organization for killing hundreds of Americans. Iran has been attacking America for 40 years and Democrats are blaming America for it."

10. Farage on What Is at Stake at European Election: 'Democracy, It's Quite Simple Really' - Breitbart

Brexit leader Nigel Farage has gone head-to-head with stop-Brexit politician Vince Cable in the only broadcast debate in the run-up to Thursday's European Parliament election, and appealed to voters who backed both leave and remain previously to vote for his party to help strengthen British democracy.

Mr. Farage said, "We had a referendum, a full free and fair referendum. We were told by the government whatever [the result] was, would be implemented. I think this is a moment whether you're a leaver or a remainer to say 'promises must be kept' because if they're not, trust in the entire democratic system breaks down. So let's deliver Brexit."

The Brexit Party was founded last month to tackle one particular issue, it has taken aim at the democratic deficit in the country more broadly. Beyond the longstanding concerns over the debasement of British sovereignty by political rule from Brussels, Farage's Brexit Party has also vowed to tackle the two-party system, and the failure of the Westminster establishment to represent the wishes of the British people. Mr Farage said the Brexit Party was working to "fundamentally shift the political debate in this country."

-For the kingdom is the LORD'S: and he is the governor among the nations. (Psalm 22:28)

No peace where there is no peace

Attaining the goal of peace between Israel and Palestinian terrorists has been a centerpiece of every president's foreign policy since Jimmy Carter began involving terrorist leader Yassir Arafat in the flimsy Camp David Accords. Now, the current president is taking a stab at creating peace where there is no peace. In a joint statement with the Kingdom of Bahrain, the White House announced May 19 the two countries will host an economic workshop to "facilitate discussions on an ambitious, achievable vision and framework for a prosperous future for the Palestinian people and the region, including enhancements to economic governance, development of human capital, and facilitation of rapid private-sector growth."

The statement announcing the "Peace to Prosperity" economic workshop said, "This workshop is a pivotal opportunity to convene government, civil society, and business leaders to share ideas, discuss strategies, and galvanize support for potential economic investments and initiatives that could be made possible by a peace agreement. If implemented, this vision has the potential to radically transform lives and put the region on a path toward a brighter future." The summit is the opening round of what President Trump says will be a comprehensive peace agreement between Israel and its enemies. Already, the key party in any peace agreement, the Palestinian Authority, has stated it will boycott the summit.

This Administration has been one of the most pro-Israel on record. No doubt that Israel's economic and national security have been supported enthusiastically by the Trump White House. President Trump, unlike his predecessor, has embraced Israel for the strong ally and security partner it is in the Middle East. Notwithstanding, there are two reasons why this peace effort will not bring peace. First, nation-building in the Middle East does not work. The so-called "Palestinians," represented by the Palestinian Authority, an offshoot of the terrorist Palestinian Liberation Organization, have received billions of dollars in US and European aid over the past 40 years and their economic condition is no better and terrorism has not stopped. The old adage of "What you get for nothing is worth nothing" has been repeatedly confirmed.

The other reason is prophetic. Daniel 9 foretells with extraordinary accuracy of the coming Messiah, his death, and his return. The Beast (antichrist) in verse 27, "shall confirm the covenant with many for one week (7 years): and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease." This is the peace treaty that begins the seven years of Jacob's troubles, oft referred to as the tribulation. As Isaiah 28:18 says, "And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand." Even the peace agreement with the end-time Beast will not stand. Neither Donald Trump nor any other US President, will bring lasting peace to Israel. True peace only will come when the Messiah returns, destroys the Beast and his allies, and restores Israel.

Have a blessed and powerful day,

Pro-Lifers Submit Petition to the State Board of Canvassers

Michigan is joining with other states to put an arrow into the heart of Roe v Wade! On May 21, 2019 the, Michigan Heartbeat Coalition (MHC) introduced language for a petition drive to protect babies with beating hearts. The citizen initiated legislation is designed to be the arrow in the heart of Roe v. Wade! Crafted with the strongest possible language to protect existing abortion laws in Michigan with several savings clauses. Critics have said The Heartbeat Bill could compromise the abortion ban currently on the books in Michigan. However, Walter Weber, a lawyer at the American Center for Law and Justice who has filed more than 100 briefs in the U.S. Supreme Court, advised including a savings clause to protect Michigan's existing abortion laws. Here is an excerpt from the petition language, "Nothing in this act shall be construed as authorizing any abortion that is illegal under any other provision of state law."(Section 8, Subsection 3).

MHC honors Right to Life of Michigan's efforts for the past 46 years. Now is the time to strike while the iron is hot - why regulate abortion when we can end it? MHC calls on all pro-life organizations in Michigan to join in this effort and encourages every pro-life group, church and individual to join in this petition drive.

As MI Attorney General Dana Nessel has stated she won't enforce any laws she doesn't like, MHC feels it is important to allow Prosecuting Attorneys to protect Michigan's abortion laws. (Section 8, Subsection 8)

Join us in our mission to help do to Roe v. Wade what Brown v. Board of Education did to Plessy v. Ferguson! Help MHC reach our fundraising goal by donating today! We pray that this petition will be granted with favor by the Board of Canvassers in that state, moving us all closer to the overturning of Roe v. Wade, in time, at the U.S. Supreme Court. We submit this prayer to the courts of heaven, in Your Name, Abba, amen.

AIPAC Asks for Action!

AIPAC ACTION ALERT!

Urge Members of Congress to Cosponsor Anti-BDS Resolution

The Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) campaign is: Anti-Israel. It discriminates against the Jewish state and targets its right to exist. Anti-Peace. It undermines the prospects for peace and decreases the incentive for the parties to negotiate. Damaging to U.S. Interests. It isolates an ally that promotes stability, security, shared values and prosperity.

Congress is considering two resolutions to oppose BDS: In the House, Reps. Brad Schneider (D-IL), Lee Zeldin (R-NY), Jerry Nadler (D-NY) and Ann Wagner (R-MO) have introduced a bipartisan anti-BDS resolution (H.Res.246). In the Senate, a companion resolution (S.Res.120) has been introduced by Sens. Ben Cardin (D-MD) and Rob Portman (R-OH).

View senators who have cosponsored the resolution.

View representatives who have cosponsored the resolution.

Please urge your members of Congress today to cosponsor these important resolutions putting Congress on record opposing the anti-Israel BDS movement.
TALKING POINTS

The bipartisan resolution puts Congress on the record in opposition to the global BDS movement targeting Israel and all efforts to delegitimize the Jewish state.

- The resolution reiterates congressional support for direct negotiations leading to a two-state solution, not efforts to bypass talks and use boycotts and other coercive measures.

- The resolution supports efforts to counter boycotts through enhanced government-wide, coordinated U.S.-Israel scientific and technological cooperation.

- On May 17, the German government passed a resolution designating the BDS movement as anti-Semitic, noting that the campaign recalls "the most terrible chapter in German history" and revives memories of the Nazi motto "Don't buy from the Jews."

Classic Hymns

NEAR THE CROSS

"The angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb down the middle of the great street of the city." (Revelation 22:1-2)

Lyrics

Jesus, keep me near the cross,
There a precious fountain
Free to all, a healing stream
Flows from Calvary's mountain.

Refrain

In the cross, in the cross,
Be my glory ever;
Till my raptured soul shall find
Rest beyond the river.

Near the cross, a trembling soul,
Love and mercy found me;
There the bright and morning star
Sheds its beams around me.

Refrain

Near the cross! O Lamb of God,
Bring its scenes before me;
Help me walk from day to day,
With its shadows o'er me.

Refrain

Near the cross I'll watch and wait
Hoping, trusting ever,
Till I reach the golden strand,
Just beyond the river.

Refrain

About the Hymn:

Like many other hymns by this author, the words were written to a tune already composed by Mr. Doane, and at his request. The words and tune are remarkably well adapted to each other, and the hymn will continue to be used long after many more pretentious ones have been forgotten.

Signs and Wonders

Triple-digit heat to challenge long-standing records in southeastern US starting Friday

A heat wave set to build in the southeastern United States as Memorial Day weekend begins will challenge records dating back to the late 1800s and early 1900s.

Temperatures are forecast to approach the century mark as areas from Alabama and Tennessee to Georgia, northern and central Florida, the Carolinas and parts of Virginia endure their hottest weather yet this season.

"In what has been a warmer-than-normal May to date across the Southeast, temperatures will take a notable turn upwards through the end of the week and into Memorial Day weekend," AccuWeather Long-Range Meteorologist Max Vido said.

Highs already 5-10 degrees Fahrenheit above normal, generally in the upper 80s and lower 90s, into Thursday will kick into another gear starting on Friday.

Temperatures are set to soar Friday into Sunday across the Southeast with the heat holding firm into Memorial Day.

Cities such as Nashville; Montgomery, Alabama; Atlanta and Augusta, Georgia; Pensacola, Tallahassee and Jacksonville, Florida; Columbia, South Carolina; Charlotte and Raleigh, North Carolina; and Richmond, Virginia, will experience highs in the middle and upper 90s to lower 100s.

"Most high temperature records across the region stand in the 90s, so these cities are expected to consistently challenge records during the heat wave," Vido said.

About Capitol Hill Prayer Partners

Our Mission Statement

Capitol Hill Prayer Partners (CHPP) is a ministry which is positioned on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., helping members of the Body of Christ to "pray for those in authority over us" in our federal government. Our primary purpose is to offer intercession on site for the members of Congress and their staffs each day that the Senate and the House of Representatives are in session; and our chief prayer focus is that "God's will be done in earth, as it is in heaven." [Matthew 6:10].

Because Jesus Christ has shed His blood for all, we, too, pray for ALL, in a nonpartisan manner. Also, because the scriptures indicate that "the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" (James 4:17), we are confident that fervent prayer, offered in the halls of the highest chambers of government in our land, can avail much for America. Capitol Hill Prayer Partners welcomes those who feel called to join us, engaging in this strategic work of intercession for our nation: "For there is no power but of God; the powers that be are ordained of God." [Romans 13:1]
