1. Sara Netanyahu: I support the LGBT community - YNET News

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's wife, Sara, expressed Sunday her support for the LGBT community following its protest across the country against the Surrogacy Law.

"Someone is thinking about you, everything is going to be okay," she said. The premier's wife also added, "I don't think they don't have equal rights."

"I think our country is very advanced and it's only getting better. (The LGBT community) has to have patience. They have someone who is thinking about them." "I'm not the head of the state, but I'm telling you are in the prime minister's heart," she went on to say.

2. Rabbi: How Can You Not Notice the Signs of Messiah? - Breaking Israel News

Several rabbis are pointing to last week's rare lunar eclipse and continued earthquakes as a divine pre-Messianic wake-up call. In fact, it isn't only the rabbis. Even Arab sources are labeling the recent earthquakes as part of the end-of-days conflict centered around Jerusalem.

On Friday, Israel witnessed two natural phenomena: a 4.2 magnitude earthquake struck the northern Kinneret area at noon and as the sun set, a total lunar eclipse hung overhead, turning the moon deep crimson. The eclipse was remarkably rare: the longest lunar eclipse seen over the skies of Israel in more than a century. The earthquake was remarkable, but not for its rarity. It was the second of the week and the most recent in a series that has shaken northern Israel in the past several weeks. On a practical level, this is alarming since Israel is situated along the Syrian-African rift, a tear in the earth's crust running the length of the border separating Israel from Jordan, extending from northern Syria to Mozambique.

The last major earthquake in Israel struck in 1927, a 6.2-magnitude tremor that killed 500 people and injured another 700. Experts have warned a large earthquake could strike Israel in the near future, and the government has begun funding projects for public buildings to be bolstered against tremors.

3. Russian envoy: Israel's security 'high priority,' but Moscow can't boot Iran from Syria - World Israel News

In an interview with Hebrew-language Channel 10 on Monday, Russian Ambassador to Israel Anatoly Viktorov said that Israel's security was a "high priority" for Russia, and added that Moscow is committed to upholding the terms of the 1974 ceasefire agreement between Israel and Syria that ended the Yom Kippur War.

But he said that all Moscow will be able to do is to "try to convince" the Iranian leadership to evacuate troops from Syria on a permanent basis.

"We want to see every part of the separation of forces agreement upheld," Viktorov said. "We agree that on the other side of the [Israel-Syria] border, there should only be regular Syrian army troops. Securing Israel's security is very high up on our priority list. Israel's security is not just an empty phrase for Russia's foreign policy."

However, asked about Iran's role in Syria, both at the present time and looking forward, Victorov repeated Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov's assertion that Tehran will continue to play a role in Syria for the foreseeable future.

4. Syria boots ISIS from Golan Heights, retaking full control of frontier with Israel - Times of Israel

BEIRUT, Lebanon - The Syrian government regained control of the frontier with the Israel's Golan Heights for the first time in seven years on Monday, after Islamic State-linked militants gave up their last pocket of territory in the area.

The breakthrough against the militants, reported by state media and an opposition-linked war monitoring group, capped a six-week-long bloody campaign to retake the southwest corner of the country.

Rebels captured the area along the Golan Heights after a popular uprising broke out against Syrian President Bashar Assad in 2011. An IS-linked outfit known as the Khaled bin Al-Waleed Army later seized the area from the opposition fighters.

5. UN Investigator Vows to Keep an 'Open Mind' to the Gaza Conflict - Jerusalem Online

The head of the UN Human Rights Council's probe into the clashes at the Gaza border this summer vowed Sunday to approach the topic fairly and without bias. "As Chair of the Commission of Inquiry for Gaza and East Jerusalem I can assure all parties and constituents that the Commission will conduct its investigation fairly and with an open mind with no preconceived positions or perspectives," David Crane told reporters. Currently a professor at Syracuse University College of Law, Crane was appointed last week to preside over the three-member "Commission of Inquiry on the 2018 protests in the Occupied Palestinian Territory." The other members are Sara Hossain, a Bangladeshi lawyer educated in the UK, and Kaari Betty Murungi, a lawyer and human rights activist from Kenya.

6. US ambassador makes rare visit to settlement, after terror attack - Times of Israel

US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman made a condolence visit Monday to the West Bank home of an Israeli man who was stabbed to death in a terror attack last week.

Friedman traveled to the Adam settlement north of Jerusalem where he met with the family of 31-year-old Yotam Ovadia, who was killed in the Thursday attack by a Palestinian who had sneaked into the settlement.

Friedman met with Ovadia's wife while she observed the traditional Jewish week of mourning for close relatives, known as shiva.

"I was heartbroken to see the tragic impact of the murder of Yotam Ovadia - a young mother left alone to care for two small children, parents grieving for their only son. Words are insufficient to describe the evil and barbarity of the terrorist act," he said after leaving the home.

7. While building a museum for mosaics in Israel, another gorgeous mosaic is found - Archaeology - Haaretz

Another spectacular mosaic has been found in the city of Lod while doing groundworks for a museum to house the spectacular mosaics already found there in previous years.

The mosaic was found in a late Roman-era house dating to about 1,700 years ago. The sheer quality of the stonework indicates the owner was extravagantly wealthy.

"The villa included a large, luxurious mosaic-paved reception room triclinium and an internal columned courtyard, also with mosaics, and a water system," says archaeologist Amir Gorzalczany, the director of the present excavation.

In fact, this is the third mosaic discovery in this structure - which, in embarrassing contrast to modern construction, seems to have existed for centuries.

The Daily Brief

1. 9th Circuit Court panel rejects prayer at Chino Valley school board meetings - LA Times

A federal appeals court decided Wednesday that Chino Valley school board meetings may not include prayers, proselytizing or the citing of Christian Scripture. A three-judge panel of the U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a 2016 injunction against the religious practices, which the court said dated back to at least 2010.

In its appeal, the Chino Valley Unified School District board argued that it was covered by an exception for traditional prayer at the start of state legislatures, Congress and town hall meetings.

The 9th Circuit disagreed, noting that the school board meetings include children and teenagers who are more vulnerable than adults to outside influence and who have been obligated to attend to give presentations, perform or receive awards. (Read more)

- Father, this ruling is the very antithesis of America's foundations. We pray that this will be immediately appealed, and brought to the Supreme Court for a reversal. Freedom OF religion is much different than this freedom "from" religion ruling. We repent, Lord of allowing our nation to fall so far away from You and Your ways, and ask for restoration!

- "Remove not the ancient landmark which your fathers have set." (Proverbs 22:29)

2. Chicago beats Trump in sanctuary-city challenge - Washington Times

The Trump administration suffered another legal defeat on its sanctuary city crackdown after a judge Friday permanently blocked the government from retaliating against Chicago's sanctuary policy by stripping away its police grant money. U.S. District Judge Harry D. Leinenweber, a Reagan appointee to the bench, said the administration is free to track down illegal immigrants on its own, but it cannot force Chicago to cooperate in reporting or turning them over.

His ruling follows similar defeats for the Trump administration in California and Philadelphia, where judges have also ruled against the administration's attempts to condition Byrne Justice Assistance Grant money on better cooperation on immigration. "Chicago's compliance with the conditions would damage local law enforcement's relationship with immigrant communities and decrease the cooperation essential to prevent and solve crimes both within those communities and Chicago at large," the judge wrote. "Trust once lost is not easily restored."

Sanctuary cities have exploded in number since President Trump took office, as states and localities competed with each other to try to protect illegal immigrants from a stepped-up enforcement policy at the national level. Attorney General Jeff Sessions had sought to push back, saying certain government grants would now depend on jurisdictions agreeing to share information on illegal immigrants in their care, and to give deportation officers access to local prisons and jails to be able to safely take custody of criminal migrants. Friday's ruling only applies, for now, to Chicago. (Read more)

- Father, this is yet another court ruling that needs to be overturned as soon as possible. We ask that You move mightily to cause "sanctuary cities" to follow the law, and not release criminals into the general populace.

- "But the way of the ungodly shall perish." (Psalm 1:6b)

3. Trump tweets he'd 'shut down' government if Democrats don't fund US-Mexico wall - Fox News

President Trump said on Sunday that he would be willing to shut down the federal government if the Democrats do not agree to Republican demands about funding for a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border. Trump wrote on Twitter that border security "includes the Wall! Must get rid of Lottery, Catch & Release etc. and finally go to system of Immigration based on MERIT! We need great people coming into our Country!"

The White House has been embroiled in controversy over the ongoing efforts to reunite families separated at the border who were attempting to enter the United States illegally. (Read more)

- Father, we pray for the security of our nation's borders. Even Your people had specific borders to the lands You gave them. We pray for Your solution to the issue of a wall.

- "And he made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place." (Acts 17:26)

4. Nazi flag, anti-Semitic symbols spray-painted at Indiana synagogue - Fox News

Police in Carmel, Indiana launched an investigation after anti-Semitic graffiti was discovered spray-painted on a synagogue Sunday morning.

A Nazi flag and other anti-Semitic symbols were painted on the Congregation Shaarey Tefilla, Vice President Mike Pence wrote on Twitter.

"Sickened and appalled by the cowardly act of vandalism at Congregation Shaarey Tefilla," Pence tweeted, referring to the synagogue as "beautiful" and a place where he has "many good friends."

The vice president added that, "Those responsible must be held accountable. These vile acts of anti-Semitism must end." (Read more)

- Father we pray for You to find the perpetrators of this incident quickly, and touch the hearts of those it has affected.

- "But he who hates his brother is in darkness and walks in darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes." (I John 2:11)

5. Taliban Official Says Group Spoke With US Diplomat- NBC Los Angeles

The Taliban held their first direct contact with a U.S. official in a preliminary discussion about future peace talks on Afghanistan, a senior official with the insurgent group said Saturday. It marked one of the most significant developments amid efforts to find a negotiated end to the country's protracted war. The Taliban official described a "useful" meeting with Alice Wells, the U.S.'s top diplomat for South Asia, earlier this week. He said the meeting was held in the small Middle Eastern country of Qatar, where the Taliban have maintained a political office since 2013.

"The environment was positive and the discussion was useful," the Taliban official told The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the media.

U.S. officials neither confirmed nor denied a meeting took place. However, Wells was in Doha, the Qatar capital, this week. In a statement following her return, the State Department said only that Wells had been in Doha, had met with the ruling family and "the United States is exploring all avenues to advance a peace process in close consultation with the Afghan government." (Read more)

- Father, we bind deception in these talks in the Name of Jesus and by the power of His Blood we declare all lies null and void.

- "Whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven." (Matthew 16:19b)

6. De Blasio commits to opening four supervised injection sites - New York Post

Mayor Bill de Blasio on Thursday committed to opening four supervised injection facilities where drug users can shoot up under medical supervision- putting the Big Apple at the forefront of a controversial practice that's sparked debate across the country.

The sites are slated to open as one-year pilot programs at existing needle exchange centers in the Gowanus neighborhood in Brooklyn, Midtown West and Washington Heights in Manhattan, and Longwood in The Bronx.

The city would need authorization from the State Health Department, district attorneys and the local council member in each pilot district in order to move forward with the plan. (Read more)

- Father, we ask that You bring healing, life, and freedom to those who are bound by their addictions.

- "Because the Lord has anointed Me - to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of prison to those who are bound." (Isaiah 61:1c,d)

7. Is George Soros Fueling Race Riots in DC Ahead of Midterms? - Gateway Pundit

Neo-Nazi and Charlottesville rally planner Jason Kessler is now ordering his followers to re-brand themselves as "Alt-Lite", to carry American flags, and to align themselves with President Trump and the Republican Party at his upcoming "Unite the Right 2" rally in front of the White House on August 12, all in an effort to galvanize the Deep State #Resistance against the GOP right before the critical midterm elections.

In a recent YouTube video, Kessler, an admitted leftist provocateur and Occupy Wall Street organizer, has called for a march down Pennsylvania Avenue and speeches in front of the White House.

Right on cue, a Soros funded group, calling itself "DC Against Hate" suddenly sprung up, seemingly out of nowhere. On its web site, the group states that it is funded by groups such as "Black Lives Matter", Maryland and Philly Antifa, Socialist Party DC, and, perhaps most ominously, Resist This, which is the new name of the violent Soros-funded "DisruptJ20" group well known for using terrorist tactics to oppose freedom of speech. (Read more)

- Lord, we ask that You break the arm of the wicked in the case of George Soros. Let everything he tries fall to the ground, and let his plans all be thwarted. We pray for his salvation, in Jesus' name, amen.

- "Therefore evil shall come upon you; you shall not know from where it arises. And trouble shall fall upon you; you will not be able to put it off." (Isaiah 47:11)

8. Trump offers to meet with Iranian President Rouhani, without preconditions - Fox News

President Trump said Monday he would be willing to meet with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani with "no preconditions," on the heels of a fiery exchange of threats earlier this month.

"I would certainly meet with Iran if they wanted to meet. I don't know if they're ready yet," Trump said, when asked at a White House press conference about a possible meeting with Rouhani.

Trump said he would set "no preconditions," and, "If they want to meet, I'll meet, anytime they want." The president already has held summits with Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korea's Kim Jong Un. While Trump drew bipartisan criticism for his Putin summit - specifically for initially appearing to accept Putin's denial of U.S. election meddling - the president maintained Monday that they had a "great meeting" and stressed that he's willing to meet with "anybody." (Read more)

- Lord, we ask that wisdom be granted to our President in the face of any dialogue with Iran's leadership. The danger of the Iranian regime is real, so we pray for Your Holy Spirit to cover our President during any negotiations.

- "He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler." (Psalm 91:4)

9. Transgender Madness: Surgeon Performs Mastectomies on 14-Year-Old Girls - Christian Headlines

A Toronto plastic surgeon who calls himself a "leader in the LGBT community" says he has performed mastectomies on girls as young as 14 who identity as boys.

LifeSiteNews.com interviewed the doctor, Marc DuPéré, who said he performed surgeries to remove the breasts of two 14-year-old girls in the past five years who considered themselves transgender. He has conducted mastectomies on girls ages 15 and 16, too. The surgery costs around $9,000.

"Parents should encourage questioning with their children to understand 'their story,'" he told the website. In an online forum with a patient, DuPéré was asked the youngest age he would perform a mastectomy. He responded "14 and older" and said it's helpful if the child is 16-18 or older.

"As long as it is clear your child is firm about the decision to transition and with my consultation with him and yourself, I would be happy to help," the post read. One controversy - as noted by LifeSiteNews - is that a child may grow to regret the decision to have surgery. Michelle Cretella, president of the American College of Pediatricians, says it's not uncommon for children who experience gender confusion to stop having those feelings. (Read more)

- Father, this abhorrent practice must be stopped. We have allowed society to confuse our children to the point that they are destroying themselves. Have mercy on us, Lord, have mercy on the children who have had this procedure. May Your Holy Spirit find the hearts of each one and draw them to Yourself.

- "I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents that over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance." (Luke 15:7)

10. What do they know? Mystery as Russia LIQUIDATED almost ALL of its holdings in US Treasury securities during run up to Helsinki summit, in move labeled 'unprecedented' by experts - Daily Mail

The Russian government has sold off the vast majority of its holdings of US Treasury securities for reasons that remain mysterious, in a dramatic move that experts are calling unprecedented.

A US Treasury report released on July 18 shows that Russian holdings of Treasury securities declined by 84 per cent between March and May, down to just $14.9 billion from March holdings of $96.1 billion.

The report was issued quietly amid the controversy surrounding President Donald Trump's July 16 meeting with Russian President Valdimir Putin in Helsinki, dropping Russia from the list of major Treasuries holders without comment.

Benchmark 10-year Treasury note yields saw a spike during mid-May to a seven-year high of 3.11 per cent, possibly indicating excess supply during the sell off. But yields quickly stabilized, indicating that any Russian bond dumping had little effect on the overall market or the US government's cost of borrowing. (Read more)

- Father we ask that You reveal any nefarious dealing or purpose in this action by Russia. Let all hidden secrets be revealed, and we ask that You protect the US economy from any backlash.

- "Do not grant, O Lord, the desires of the wicked." (Psalm 140:8a)

11. Breaking! UN Partners With Abortion Activists to Counter Pro-Life Trump Admin, Push Abortion Worldwide - LifeNews

UN agencies are working with abortion groups to make abortion part of sexual and reproductive health policies and programming everywhere and for all, in opposition to U.S. President Donald Trump's pro-life efforts and the consensus of the UN General Assembly. . . Few member states would have accepted the inclusion of abortion in UN policy at all in 1994, if not for such an ambiguous definition of "sexual and reproductive health." In fact, UN agencies like the UN Population Fund have often told member states that each country can define the terms as they prefer. In an about-face, they are now saying the term was never up for member states to define. (Read more)

- Father, we stand against this action and pray that You will find a way to stop it. We ask that the nations will begin to balk at what was obviously a lie in the beginning, and that none will cause the US to turn from the pro-life stance.

- "I will bless the Lord who has given me counsel; my heart also instructs me in the night seasons.I have set the Lord always before me." (Psalm16:7,8a)

Never Give Up

Monday, July 30, 2018

'Heard a lot of conversations over the weekend with friends and family about the state of our nation. Many believe we are in the midst of a revolution, even a civil war. The lack of civility among friends, family, neighbors and others over the current President continues to increase as the news media and the regressive left vehemently criticize everything the man does. John Nolte of Breitbart News, for example, has documented some 538 acts of violence against supporters of Donald Trump since the 2016 election. The name calling, the labeling, the animosity is worse than many of us have ever seen it. Not to worry. Christians, take heart. We are to overcome evil with good and not grow weary in doing it.

Every phone call you make. Every letter you write. Every email you send. Every word you speak. Be encouraged. The Lord said in Isaiah 55:10-12, "For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, and returns not thither, but waters the earth, and makes it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goes forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands."

Neither be offended. The Lord says in Ezekiel 3:17-19, "When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and you give him not warning, nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul." No matter how long, no matter how difficult things become, do what the Lord tells you to do. As you do these things unto the Lord, you have made a transfer, so to speak, from yourself to others. It is now on them to act responsibly with the information. You have done your part.

God sent his only begotten Son to die on the cross for our sins that we might have life everlasting. It's up to us to share the many facets of living out our salvation. 2 Corinthians 4:7-10 exhorts: "But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body." Keep going. Keep doing. You never know when your action may be that last full measure needed to advance God's plan. Never give up.

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

About Capitol Hill Prayer Partners

Our Mission Statement

Capitol Hill Prayer Partners (CHPP) is a ministry which is positioned on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., helping members of the Body of Christ to "pray for those in authority over us" in our federal government. Our primary purpose is to offer intercession on site for the members of Congress and their staffs each day that the Senate and the House of Representatives are in session; and our chief prayer focus is that "God's will be done in earth, as it is in heaven." Because Jesus Christ has shed His blood for all, we, too, pray for ALL, in a nonpartisan manner. Also, because the scriptures indicate that "the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" (James 4:17), we are confident that fervent prayer, offered in the halls of the highest chambers of government in our land, can avail much for America. Capitol Hill Prayer Partners welcomes those who feel called to join us, engaging in this strategic work of intercession for our nation: "For there is no power but of God; the powers that be are ordained of God."
