Focus on Israel

1. Iranian- Backed Militia, Syria Threaten Ti Cut Off Rebels Near Golan- Jerusalem Post

On Monday elements of the Iranian-backed Liwa Abu al-Fadl al-Abbas and the Syrian regime's Republican Guard were reported to be leading the Syrian regime's offensive near the Golan, attempting to cut the Syrian rebels territory in half.

The offensive, backed by Russian planes, is now within 10 km. of Israeli forces on the Golan border and risks opening a new front between Islamic State and the Syrian army.

The Syrian regime launched an offensive last month to defeat the rebels in southern Syria, who have held a large area, roughly the size of the Galilee, in Syria over the last six years. In the last week the numbers displaced by the fighting have risen to 270,000 from 60,000 creating a massive humanitarian crisis. Thousands of those fleeing the fighting are clustered on the Israeli border at al-Rafeed. Now the Syrian regime forces are closing in on the strategic corridor that connects the Syrian rebel areas near the Golan to the Syrian rebel areas near Dera'a next to the Jordanian border.

2. Israel NGO delivering aid operated undercover in Syria - Jerusalem Post

The Israeli NGO Israel Flying Aid has been providing humanitarian aid to Syrians for years through a "full undercover unit of all native Arabic speakers," Gal Lusky, the head of the organization, said Monday.

In the last few days, the NGO has gone public following reports that the IDF carried out a mission last Thursday night - with the group's help - to deliver massive amounts of humanitarian aid to refugees fleeing Syrian President Bashar Assad's forces in southwestern Syria.

Lusky, in a conference call put together by The Israel Project, said her organization has been "really busy" with the IDF, providing aid on a weekly basis to Syrian refugees over the last two years.

She said Israel Flying Aid specializes in delivering aid to countries that do not have diplomatic ties with Israel.

3. Israel passes law cutting funding to PA over its payments to terrorists - Times of Israel

The Knesset voted into law on Monday a bill to slash funds to the Palestinian Authority by the amount Ramallah pays out to convicted terrorists and the families of Palestinians killed while carrying out attacks. The bipartisan law passed by 87 to 15.

The law's backers said the legislation would send a message to Palestinians that terror does not pay.

4. Hamas: PA making it difficult to foil 'Deal of the Century' - Israel National News

Hamas on Monday accused the Palestinian Authority (PA) of harming the interests of the Palestinian people and its ability to act against the political plans of the American administration.

Fawzi Barhoum, a Hamas spokesman, said that the PA's resistance to ending the punitive measures against Gaza "weakens the foundations of the Palestinian people's steadfastness" in dealing with the American "Deal of the Century" which, he claimed, is meant to "eliminate the Palestinian problem."

"Any step that will bring about the lifting of the siege on Gaza and meet the aspirations of the residents of Gaza without paying a political price will be welcome," he said.

5. Report: Abbas advancing Palestinian unity government - YNET News

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas is working to establish a new Palestinian unity government-which will be accepted by Hamas and the rest of the Palestinian factions-in preparation for general elections in the Palestinian Authority, the London-based Arabic-language Asharq al-Awsat newspaper reported Monday, quoting Palestinian sources.

The government will be headed by former Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad, the sources said.

According to the report, the plan is aimed at preventing any attempt to split the Gaza Strip and the West Bank into two separate political entities, amid concerns in the Palestinian leadership over the international plans to advance a significant agreement in Gaza as part of US President Donald Trump's peace deal, which won't include the Palestinian Authority.

The Daily Brief

1. These Are Trump's Two Top Picks For The Supreme Court - Daily Caller

President Donald Trump's top two contenders to replace retiring Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy are Judges Brett Kavanaugh and Amy Coney Barrett, The Daily Caller News Foundation has learned. Multiple sources involved in the selection process inside and outside the administration told TheDCNF that the most serious consideration is being given to Kavanaugh and Barrett, two conservative justices included on Trump's previously released list of potential nominees.

Kavanaugh maintains a sterling reputation in Washington, though sources familiar with Trump's thinking say he is likely to be turned off by the judge's former work with Bush and his marriage to Bush's former secretary. The judge also maintains extensive social ties with former members of the administration. A White House spokesman declined to comment on Trump's concerns with respect to Kavanaugh's marriage. Administration officials acknowledged that Kavanaugh and Barrett are in strong contention for the nomination, but that three others are also being considered.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Monday that "the White House Counsel's Office, led by Don McGahn, will again oversee the selection and overall confirmation process," and that "the Department of Justice is fully engaged to support the nomination and confirmation efforts." 2. July 4 terror plot thwarted in Cleveland, suspect pledged allegiance to Al Qaeda, FBI says - Fox

A man who pledged allegiance to Al Qaeda sought to kill members of the military and conducted reconnaissance in downtown Cleveland for a planned attack on July 4 -- but the Independence Day plot was foiled after a months-long investigation, federal officials said Monday.

FBI Special Agent in Charge Stephen Anthony said Demetrius Pitts, also known as Abdur Raheem Rahfeeq, was arrested at 10 a.m. Sunday by the joint terrorism task force. Authorities were initially notified about Pitts in 2017, when he lived in Cincinnati and allegedly made statements supporting Al Qaeda and advocating violence against U.S. military members. "This case illustrated that law enforcement can not sit back and wait for Mr. Pitts to commit a violent act," Anthony said. (Read more)

- Lord we thank You that this terror plot was thwarted. We ask that not only our security agencies be attuned to the problem, but all citizens and Your watchmen on the wall pay close attention during this Holiday week.

- "Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong." (1 Corinithians 16:13)

3. Gillibrand calls to eliminate ICE: 'Get rid of it, start over' - The Hill

Democratic Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (N.Y.) became the first sitting senator on Thursday to call for the elimination of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), telling CNN that the agency should be "reimagined." In an interview with CNN's Chris Cuomo, the New York Democrat was asked whether she agreed with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who defeated 10-term incumbent Rep. Joe Crowley (D-N.Y.) in a primary Tuesday while running on a platform to fully shut down ICE.

"Well, I agree with it. I don't think ICE today is working as intended," Gillibrand said, referring to Ocasio-Cortez's platform. "I believe that it has become a deportation force. And I think you should separate out the criminal justice from the immigration issues," she continued. "I think you should reimagine ICE under a new agency, with a very different mission, and take those two missions out. So we believe that we should protect families that need our help, and that is not what ICE is doing today."

Gillibrand, considered a possible 2020 Democratic presidential contender, has criticized the Trump administration's "zero tolerance" immigration policy and introduced legislation to require ICE agents to keep records of immigration checks they perform on train and bus passengers. "Keeping our country safe cannot come at a cost to basic human rights. When border patrol agents stop and question people in New York and in many places across the country, they aren't keeping data about why they targeted a particular person or what happened during their encounter," Gillibrand said in a statement last month. (Read more)

- Father, the constant barrage of hate against an organization that removes criminals from our borders, and conducts important investigations is totally unwarranted. We pray that You will stop this movement in the Mighty Name of Jesus and visit strongly those who have embraced the idea.

- "Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord." (Acts 3:19)

4. Harvard-Harris Poll: 69% of Registered Voters Oppose Abolishing ICE - CNSNews.com

A recent Harvard-Harris poll found that 69% of registered voters do not believe that the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency (ICE) should be abolished, an idea that some congressional Democrats and liberal activists are proposing.

In the June 24-25 online survey of 1,448 registered voters, Harvard-Harris asked, '"Do you think that the Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers, known as ICE, should be disbanded or not?" According to the poll, 69% of the respondents said ICE should not be disbanded; 31% said the immigration enforcement arm should be disbanded.

The poll also asked, "Do you think we need stricter or looser enforcement of our immigration laws?" To this question, 70% of the people answered that the United States should have "stricter" enforcement of its immigration laws; 30% said "looser" enforcement. (Read more)

- Father, we thank You for a people with common sense about law and order. We pray these criticisms of ICE and border enforcement will be countered with the reality of the extraordinary job they do each day to keep our border secure and our communities safe.

- "Do not go about spreading slander among your people. Do not do anything that endangers your neighbor's life. I am the Lord." (Leviticus 19:16)

5. Obama administration granted citizenship to 2,500 Iranians during nuclear deal: Iran official - Fox

The Obama administration granted citizenship to 2,500 Iranians, including family members of government officials, while negotiating the Iran nuclear deal, a senior cleric and member of parliament has claimed. Hojjat al-Islam Mojtaba Zolnour, who is chairman of Iran's parliamentary nuclear committee and a member of its national security and foreign affairs committee, made the allegations during an interview with the country's Etemad newspaper, cited by the country's Fars News agency.

He claimed it was done as a favor to senior Iranian officials linked to President Hassan Rouhani, and he alleged the move sparked a competition among Iranian officials over whose children would benefit from the scheme. (Read more)

- Lord, this news of another terrible lie by the Obama administration is yet again a reminder of the deceit present during the last administration. We ask that You root out any of these people who wish harm to America, and protect us from harm.

- "I will say of the Lord, 'He is my refuge, and my fortress; my God, in Him I will trust." (Psalm 91:2)

6. As Pompeo Voices Support for Protesting Iranians, Regime's Foreign Minister Trolls Him on Twitter - CNSNews.com

Hitting back at Secretary of State Mike Pompeo's criticism of the regime in Tehran, "moderate" Foreign Minister Javad Zarif on Thursday tweaked a statement from Pompeo - for instance, switching "Iran" for "U.S." - and sent it back, via Twitter.

Where Pompeo earlier this week had highlighted ongoing protests in Iran and the regime's "squandering" of resources though "adventurism" in Syria and support for terrorists, Zarif turned the statement around to refer to protests against the Trump administration, and the U.S. "squandering" of resources through "adventurism" in Iraq and Afghanistan and support for "Israel and other terror-sponsoring regimes." - Father, we pray that You will visit Mr. Zarif with Your truth.

7. Congress Sends Bill on North Korea Human Rights to President's Desk - CNSNews.com

As the Trump administration pursues a deal to shut down North Korea's nuclear programs, Congress is sending to the president's desk a bipartisan bill to reauthorize 18-year-old human rights legislation that has long angered the regime in Pyongyang.

North Korea's grim human rights record did not feature in a document signed by President Trump and Kim Jong Un at their June 12 summit in Singapore, although Trump said at his post-summit press conference that the topic "was discussed" and "will be discussed more in the future."

On Wednesday, the House of Representatives approved and sent to Trump's desk legislation reauthorizing the 2004 North Korea Human Rights Act (NKHRA) for four more years.

Originally passed by the House last September (in a 415-0 vote) and the Senate in April, the bill also updates earlier versions, for example providing authorities for disseminating information to the North Korean people that reflect technological advances - going beyond radio broadcasts and including mobile devices, wi-fi, USB drives, SD cards etc.

It also renews the reporting obligations of a North Korean human rights special envoy. The State Department position was created by NKHRA but has been vacant since the last holder of the post, Joseph Yun, retired in March. (Read more)

- Father, we ask that You intervene in North Korea, not just to bring peace to the Peninsula, but to save and protect the people there. Let Your Spirit be loosed across that nation.

- "Surely your salvation is coming." (Isaiah 62:11d)

8. At Trump-Putin summit, Trump to enlist Russia's help to oust Iran from Syria - watch.org

A centerpiece of the upcoming Helsinki summit between President Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin will be the future of Syria and a proposal to enlist Russia as a partner in ousting Iran from that battlefield. In an appearance on CBS News' "Face the Nation," National Security Adviser Ambassador John Bolton said the July 16 meeting would be "just the two of them" and would offer the chance to discuss Syria at length, along with "a whole range of issues."

Bolton also signaled that the U.S. has dropped its rhetorical opposition to dictator Bashar al Assad, who has held onto power in Syria through a mix of brutal tactics such as chemical weapons, and the firepower of Russian and Iranian forces, including Hezbollah.

"I don't think Assad is the strategic issue. I think Iran is the strategic issue," Bolton said. Two Arab diplomats and a senior U.S. official told CBS News that the administration has now accepted that Assad will remain in power for the immediate future and has decided to focus on convincing Putin to sever ties with his battlefield partner Iran. (Read more)

- Father, we pray that this meeting will stop Iran from its continued presence in Syria. We ask Your favor upon our President in this meeting with Putin. We ask for Your Spirit to touch Mr. Putin as well in this meeting.

- "Arise, O Lord, do not let man prevail; Let the nations be judged in Your sight." (Psalm 9:19)

9. Carrier USS Harry S. Truman Operating in the Atlantic as Russian Submarine Activity is on the Rise - USNI News

The aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman (CVN-75) has left the Mediterranean Sea and is now operating in the Atlantic Ocean, a defense official confirmed to USNI News.

This week the carrier, the embarked Carrier Air Wing 1 and some of its escorts passed through the Strait of Gibraltar into the Atlantic after spending several days in port in Marseille, France.

"As a matter of longstanding policy, we do not discuss future operations, but I can tell you that the Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group will continue to conduct operations in support of our NATO allies, European and African partner nations, coalition partners, and U.S. national security interests," Cmdr. John Perkins, a spokesman with U.S. Naval Forces Europe and Africa, told USNI News. (Read more)

10. Trump says Saudi king agreed to raise oil output by up to 2 million barrels - Reuters

WASHINGTON/RIYADH (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump said on Saturday that Saudi Arabia's King Salman had agreed to his request to increase oil production "maybe up to 2,000,000 barrels," an extraordinary amount not confirmed by the kingdom and which would push the OPEC leader to a level of production never tested before.

In an early morning tweet, Trump said Saudi Arabia's expanded production would help offset a decline in supply from Iran, after the United States pulled out of the Iran nuclear deal in May and moved to reimpose oil sanctions.

"Just spoke to King Salman of Saudi Arabia and explained to him that, because of the turmoil & disfunction in Iran and Venezuela, I am asking that Saudi Arabia increase oil production, maybe up to 2,000,000 barrels, to make up the difference . . . Prices to high! He has agreed!" Trump tweeted.

He did not specify if the figure was barrels per day (bpd), the normal measure for oil production. (Read more)

- Lord God, we ask Your hand of blessing upon this new deal, so that both nations will benefit in this transaction. Amen.

- "A faithful ambassador brings health." (Proverbs 13:17b)

11. Giuliani: Trump will suffocate Iranian regime - Israel National News

President Donald Trump will suffocate Iran's "dictatorial ayatollahs", former New York Mayor and a close Trump ally Rudy Giuliani said on Saturday, as quoted by Reuters.

Giuliani, who now serves as Trump's personal lawyer, was addressing a conference of the Paris-based National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), an umbrella bloc of opposition groups in exile that seek an end to Shi'ite Muslim clerical rule in Iran.

"I can't speak for the president, but it sure sounds like he doesn't think there is much of a chance of a change in behavior unless there is a change in people and philosophy," Giuliani told Reuters in an interview.

"We are the strongest economy in the world ... and if we cut you off then you collapse," he added, pointing to recent protests in Iran. (Read more)

- Thank You, Lord that You are at work in Iran, and will bring to an end the repressive regime of the mullahs.

Day of Liberty Part I--The Situation

Rasmussen Reports that a survey of 1,000 likely voters conducted June 21-24 indicated that 59% of all voters are concerned that those opposed to President Donald Trump's policies will resort to violence, and 31% believe there will be a second Civil War within five years. Couple this with a former president praising the "resistance" efforts of Organizing For America, Antifa and other organizations; Congresswoman Maxine Waters (D-CA) calls for people to deny food services to those who agree with Trump. Democrats are embracing Democrat Socialist Congressional nominee Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's call for a "progressive" revolution. As we approach Independence Day, our country faces a threat to all liberty.

What do these liberals and the vast majority of Democratic Party officeholders have in common? They fancy themselves as "progressives." This is a polite, politically acceptable name for socialists or communists. Progressiveness is a path to tyranny and spiritual darkness. No communist society is free. No true socialist society is free. Why do you think all these people want open borders? It is so they can promise everything to people with nothing and secure their votes. That's exactly how Cortez got the nomination. Once those votes are secured, it won't be long before the Constitutional Republic falls to socialism. I have heard a lot of Christians say that this doesn't matter-that we are of another kingdom.

This is wrong-minded thinking. The American experiment guaranteed the right to free speech and religious freedom. The American dream, how ever imperfect in its practical implementation, resulted in much of the world being evangelized by Christians. The liberty to speak freely about Jesus Christ supported the Great Commission like no other country in the history of the world. Progressivism, socialism, communism would bring a sharp and violent end to this liberty because these forms of tyranny are based in the Communist Manifesto, which states: "Communism abolishes eternal truths, it abolishes all religion, and all morality, instead of constituting them on a new basis." These are antichrist political systems. Those who agree with them and claim to be followers of Christ, should repent.

What of God do the leaders and followers of the progressive resistance have in common with Christianity? Oh, they ply people with emotions of compassion based on half-truths and twisted facts. But what of Godly principles? Most of them would even say that all religions serve one god, the same god. What does the Lord say? "Thou shalt have no other gods before me" (Exodus 20:3). Allowing a "progressive revolution" is consenting godlessness to advance. As Galatians 5:1 says, "Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ has made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage." We are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free. It extends to the politics of tyranny and to those who would proclaim evil as good. It is bondage. We must overcome evil with good.

Have a blessed and powerful day!

Day of Liberty Part II-The Responsibility

Prior to the last presidential election, the progressives (communists) had a long-term grip over the US government. The nation was being transformed, or remade, into a socialist system. It was fast approaching tyranny as evidenced by what we now know of how the left and the deep state tried to prevent Donald Trump from being president, and how it is now trying to remove him. In essence, the nation reversed a secret coup of the Constitution. As we approach Independence Day, let's recall the 2016 election where Christian men and women voted responsibly in choosing between an imperfect man and a woman who openly stood against the precepts of God. Since then, the godless have raged against America.

Christians have responsibility to freedom. Freedom of worship permits disciples of Christ to preach the gospel to all creatures. "Freedom sees in religion the companion of its struggles and its triumphs, the cradle of its infancy, the divine source of its rights. It considers religion as the safeguard of mores; and mores as the guarantee of laws and the pledge of its own duration."--these are the words of Alexis de Tocqueville, a French aristocrat who came to America in the 1830s to observe what made the country so great. His "Democracy in America" is considered a historic treasure about the unique success of the United States. Tocqueville wrote that America is free because of its collective Christian religion.

He pointed out that the laws that governed the Plymouth colony were derived from the Hebrew texts. In the later 1600s, even the law of Connecticut stated that man shall not "have or worship any other God, but the Lord God." He said that Americans "have succeeded in incorporating somehow into one another and combining marvelously the spirit of religion and the spirit of freedom." According to the laws and the nature of early Americans, men and women who identify as progressives, socialists, communists, etc., would not qualify as legitimate leaders because their very nature denies God and embraces the state as the ultimate source of human rights, religious expression, and physical authority (tyranny).

Cotton Mather wrote in 1820, "There is a liberty of corrupt nature, which is affected both by men and beasts, to do what they list; and this liberty is inconsistent with authority, impatient of all restraint; by this liberty we are all inferior; 'tis the grand enemy of truth and peace, and all the ordinances of God are bent against it. But there is a civil, a moral, a federal liberty, which is the proper end and object of authority; it is a liberty for that only which is just and good; for this liberty you are to stand with the hazard of your very lives." Romans 8:2 says, "For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death." The foundation of progressivism/socialism/communism is abolishing all religion and morals, making these systems manifestations of sin and death. We have a responsibility to stand in the gap.

Have a blessed and powerful day!

Violence on our Streets

Violence Erupts In American Streets As Progressive Leaders Urge Their Followers To "Rise Up" And Prepare For A "Summer Of Rage"

Friday, Michael Moore went on Bill Maher's HBO show and suggested that the U.S. military would side with progressives in a civil war against Donald Trump. . .

The very next day, Antifa thugs violently clashed with pro-Trump conservatives that had gathered for a prayer rally on the streets of Portland, Oregon. Flash-bang grenades were thrown by Antifa activists, the police confiscated "mace, clubs, gloves with reinforced knuckles, batons, knives and handgun clips", and many were injured and had to be taken to the hospital. The violence was so dramatic that some are actually calling this the first skirmish in America's next civil war.

Last week, a shocking poll found that 31 percent of all Americans believe that there will be a civil war in America within the next five years and that 59 percent of Americans believe that Donald Trump's opponents will resort to violence. But after the events of this past weekend, we no longer have to wonder if civil unrest is coming to America. Civil unrest is already here, and it is going to get much worse in the months ahead.

The next several months are being billed as a "summer of rage". Progressive leaders continue to insist that they are "the majority" and that it is time for them to "start acting like the majority". (The Economic Collapse)

Signs and Wonders

First confirmed image of the birth of a planet

A planet-hunting instrument has captured the first confirmed image of a newborn planet that's still forming in our galaxy.

To the right of the black circle at the center of the image, the round bright planet can be seen within the disk of gas and dust around the young dwarf star PDS 70. Of course, the center isn't naturally this dark. Instead, the researchers used a coronagraph to block the bright light of the star in order to look at the disk and the planet.

The discovery by two teams of researchers is detailed in two papers published in the journal Astronomy & Astrophysics on Monday.

"These discs around young stars are the birthplaces of planets, but so far only a handful of observations have detected hints of baby planets in them," Miriam Keppler of the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy, who led one team, said in a statement. "The problem is that until now, most of these planet candidates could just have been features in the disc."

André Müller, also with the Max Planck institute and leader of the second team, said in a statement that "Keppler's results give us a new window onto the complex and poorly-understood early stages of planetary evolution. We needed to observe a planet in a young star's disc to really understand the processes behind planet formation."

SPHERE was able to measure the planet's brightness at different wavelengths, which enabled the researchers to determine the properties of its atmosphere. This is incredibly challenging, because even though SPHERE used the coronagraph to block the star, it had to seek out the planet's signal in multiple ways. (CNN) Read more.

The dozen boys of a youth soccer team and their coach have been found alive in a cave complex after they went missing over a week ago, a Thai official said Monday. Thai provincial governor Narongsak Osatanakorn said that the group is safe and being rescued after a massive search operation took place in the Tham Luang Nang Non cave in Chiang Rai province, located in the northern part of the country.

"We found them safe. But the operation isn't over," he said, according to the Associated Press.

Narongsak said the divers located the missing about 300-400 yards past a section of the cave that was on higher ground and was thought to be where the team members and their coach may have taken shelter. (Read more)

Our primary purpose is to offer intercession on site for the members of Congress and their staffs each day that the Senate and the House of Representatives are in session; and our chief prayer focus is that "God's will be done in earth, as it is in heaven." [Matthew 6:10].

Because Jesus Christ has shed His blood for all, we, too, pray for ALL, in a nonpartisan manner. Also, because the scriptures indicate that "the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" (James 4:17), we are confident that fervent prayer, offered in the halls of the highest chambers of government in our land, can avail much for America. Capitol Hill Prayer Partners welcomes those who feel called to join us, engaging in this strategic work of intercession for our nation: "For there is no power but of God; the powers that be are ordained of God." [Romans 13:1]
