About the "Impeachment"

About the "Impeachment"

A vote to proceed with the impeachment process has been scheduled for tomorrow, October 31. Only a simple majority is required to impeach. There are presently 435 Member of the House -- 233 Democrats and 197 Republicans. If the final impeachment vote were held tomorrow, a simple majority vote would be likely. The Senate, then, would conduct a trial with Vice President Pence presiding and the Chief Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court moderating.

- May God arise and his enemies be scattered! May he who rules over heaven and earth, preside over this political process. May injustice and unrighteousness be exposed and excised, and may justice and righteousness be done! May our president be strengthened by him who gives strength. And may the Prince of Peace prevail to bring peace, calm, wisdom, resolution and closure to the civil enmity and sin that is destroying our nation and making all Americans victims. May the demonic forces behind this enmity be crushed and may God's grace, mercy, and revival be poured out upon our land. May we individually and collectively repent for not loving God and our neighbor as we ought and have been commanded to do. Save us, Oh God!
- "And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death." (Rev. 12:11)

Focus on Israel

1. Israel frets as imminent EU ruling expected to force settlement labeling - Times Of Israel

Israel is worried about an expected court decision that would enshrine in law the requirement for European countries to label Israeli products made in the settlements.

On November 12, the Court of Justice of the European Union is set to issue its final decision on a case that began when an Israeli winery in the West Bank and a pro-Israel advocacy group appealed a French court's decision that determined that wines produced by Israeli settlers may not be labeled as "Made in Israel."

The EU court is widely expected to rule that settlement goods must indicate that they were produced in Israeli settlements, as opposed to in sovereign Israel. The court's decision cannot be appealed and will be legally binding on all EU member states. In practice, it would allow any pro-Palestinian activist to take legal steps against West Bank products labelled as as made in Israel, Israeli officials said this week.

2. Under U.S. Pressure, Israel Okays Mechanism To Oversee Chinese Investments- Jerusalem Post

After three years of deliberations and intensive pressure from Washington concerned about the scope of Chinese investments in Israel, Jerusalem announced Wednesday it will establish an advisory committee to vet foreign investments.

The decision to establish the new body came at a meeting Tuesday of the security cabinet. The advisory committee, according to a statement issued by the Prime Minister's Office, will be headed by the Finance Ministry and will "examine national security aspects in the process of approving foreign investments."

The committee will include senior representatives from the Treasury, Defense Ministry and National Security Council, as well as observers from the Foreign Ministry, Economics Ministry and the National Economics Council.

Referral for a recommendation from the newly established advisory committee will come from various regulatory bodies, and transactions that do not necessitate government approval -- believed to include most investment in high-tech firms -- will not come before the committee.

3. Israel-Jordan crisis worsens as Israeli citizen arrested - Israel Hayom

Jordanian security forces have arrested an Israeli citizen who crossed the border into Jordan illegally, a spokesman for the Jordanian Foreign Ministry said in a Twitter message late Tuesday.

"The authorities are handling the matter and the suspect has been taken in for questioning," the message read. The message went out shortly after Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi recalled its ambassador to Israel, Ghassan Majali, for urgent consultations on the matter of two Jordanians arrested in Israel. Heba Al-Labadi and Abdul Rahman Miri are being held under administrative detention.

Al-Labadi was arrested at the Allenby crossing on August 20 on suspicion of aiding and abetting a terrorist organization, specifically, Hezbollah. Jordanian media reports quoted her relatives denying that she had ever provided Hezbollah with any information. She has been on a hunger strike for over 35 days to protest her arrest.

4. Gantz to meet with Joint Arab List Party - Jerusalem Online

Blue and White leader Benny Gantz is scheduled to meet with Arab Joint List leader Ayman Odeh on Thursday, a statement released by Blue and White said. Despite the Arab Joint List party's stance on not joining an Israeli coalition, Odeh did not refuse Gantz's invitation to meet.

"We assured out voters to do everything to replace Netanyahu and the extreme right," Odeh said in a statement. "Every option is on the table as long as there is an alternative of peace and equality."

Representatives of the Likud party are warning that forming a minority government that relies on the support of Arab parties is "dangerous to Israel."

"Blue and White representatives refused to pledge that this dangerous minority government would not be formed," they said. "Such a government would consist of 44 MKs which is supported by the Arab MKs from the opposition."

5. Supreme Court President Warns Of 'Unprecedented' Attacks On Justice System- Times Of Israel

Supreme Court Chief Justice Esther Hayut on Wednesday warned against "unprecedented" efforts to politicize Israel's judicial system, pushing back against Justice Minister Amir Ohana's blistering criticism of the state prosecution and judiciary.

"These days, unprecedented in our political history, require all of us to stand firm and to do our work without fear," Hayut said at an event in the northern city of Nazareth.

"Politicization of the judicial system is likely to completely undermine its foundations as an independent and objective system," she added, warning it could undermine the public's faith in the courts. Her comments came a day after Ohana, a member of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's Likud party, accused state prosecutors operating under his purview of engaging in a blind persecution of public officials they feel threaten their standing, all while being supported by a "cult" of fawning reporters.

6. Kushner urges PM, Gantz to unite to seize 'tremendous opportunities' in region - Times of Israel

US presidential adviser Jared Kushner urged Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Blue and White party leader Benny Gantz in separate meetings to work together to form a unity government in order to seize the "tremendous opportunities" in the region, he said in an interview that aired Tuesday.

Speaking to Channel 13, Kushner said he thought both Netanyahu and Gantz want to "move forward" and put an end to the political deadlock plaguing the country after the inconclusive September elections, the second national vote in a year.

The meeting on Monday was the first between Blue and White's leadership and senior US officials, and came days after Gantz was tasked by President Reuven Rivlin with forming a government after Netanyahu failed to put one together after the September elections.

1. Historic 'Extreme Red Flag Warning' for Southern California as Wildfire Crisis Escalates - CBN News

For the first time, the NWS has called an extreme red flag warning as winds, temperatures and humidity create an environment ripe for danger. One of the biggest concerns is hurricane-force winds. The weather service says gusts could reach 80 miles an hour through Thursday night in one the strongest wind events there in years.

New dashcam footage shows the moment that the Getty Fire started near Los Angeles. Right off the 405 freeway, high winds broke off a tree branch and it landed on power lines, igniting nearby brush. More than 9,000 people in southern California are still under evacuation orders.

In northern California, the state's largest utility has begun its third round of sweeping blackouts, hoping to prevent more fires from starting. Currently 1.5 million people are without power there and in southern California, the local utility may cut power to more than half a million. (Read more)

- Father, we lift up everything in danger of being consumed by these fires and ask You to speak Your words of peace over California.

- Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, "Peace, be still!" And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. (Mark 4:39)

2. McConnell Says Impeachment Resolution Makes Schiff 'a de Facto Special Prosecutor' - Epoch Times

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said that the impeachment process resolution slated to be voted on this week would make House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) "a de facto special prosecutor."

The resolution gives Schiff the power to designate whether impeachment hearings should be open or closed, to allow staff members to question witnesses, to block questions from Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.), to block Nunes' requests for certain witnesses, to release transcripts of witnesses as he sees fit, and to transfer records to the House Judiciary Committee.

While the resolution was "advertised as bringing fairness and due process" into the impeachment inquiry, it "does nothing of the sort," McConnell said on the Senate floor, before criticizing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.). The resolution does not afford Republican President Donald Trump due process rights, McConnell said, unlike the inquires around Presidents Bill Clinton and Richard Nixon, including not letting Trump's counsel be part of the process. (Read more)

- Father God, we pray for an end to this impeachment injustice and for true justice to be executed throughout our nation.

- "This is what the Lord Almighty said: 'Administer true justice; show mercy and compassion to one another." (Zechariah 7:9)

4. House Votes to Recognize Armenian Genocide, Turkey Summons US Ambassador - Epoch Times

The House approved a resolution 405-11 stating it is American policy to recognize and condemn the killing of 1.5 million Armenians by the Ottoman Empire from 1915 to 1923.

"Genocides, whenever and wherever they occur, cannot be ignored, whether they took place in the 20th century by the Ottoman Turks or mid-20th century by the Third Reich and in Darfur. Today we end a century of international silence that will not be another period of indifference or international ignorance to the lives lost to systematic murder," added Rep. Gus Bilirakis (R-Fla.). Turkey's foreign ministry condemned the resolution and another that called for sanctions on the country. On Wednesday, Turkey summoned the American ambassador to file a formal protest. (Read more)

- Father, we pray You will bless our nation for remembering the Armenian people and their great suffering. We ask that these renewed sanctions would send a message that the American people are holding Erdogan accountable for his actions against the Kurds. In Your name, amen.

- Though you have made me see troubles, many and bitter, you will restore my life again; from the depths of the earth you will again bring me up. You will increase my honor and comfort me once more. (Psalm 71:20-21)

4. Trump Admin Launches Investigation Into 'Deep State' Targeting Top Trump Iran Official - Free Beacon

The State Department has opened an investigation into a campaign of leaks targeting the Trump administration's top Iran official, including leaks of a non-public inspector general report, according to multiple sources inside the Trump administration and on Capitol Hill who have been briefed on the investigation and the report.

Brian Hook, the special representative for Iran and one of the longest-serving Trump appointees in the administration, has been a focus of an inspector general investigation alleging he engaged in politically motivated staffing decisions involving a career State Department official who worked closely on the Obama administration's landmark nuclear deal with Iran and other diplomacy with the Islamic Republic.

Details of the IG report centering on Hook were given to the Daily Beast in September, just as Hook was being considered as the White House's next national security adviser. The timing of this leak has amplified concerns within and outside the State Department that a cadre of anti-Trump voices in the administration is waging an internal campaign to discredit some of Trump's long-serving appointees. (Read more)

- Father God, we ask You to expose each person within our Federal government who undermines President Trump and his subordinates. Help us remove these people and have peace.

- Remove wicked officials from the king's presence, and his throne will be established through righteousness. (Proverbs 25:5)

5. Federal Reserve board votes to cut interest rates - Washington Examiner

The Federal Reserve cut rates by a quarter point Wednesday in a widely expected move aimed at staving off a slowing economy and fears of a recession. It was the third rate cut in a row for the monetary policy committee, bringing the target range for short-term interest rates to 1.5% to 1.75%.

Powell said the current stance of monetary policy is "appropriate and will remain so as long as the outlook is broadly in keeping with our expectations." The central bank, he said, is not currently thinking about raising rates, though he acknowledged there will be times in the future where a hike will be appropriate.

The Commerce Department reported earlier Wednesday the U.S. economy grew at an annual rate of 1.9% in the third quarter of 2019, far below Trump's target of 3% annual economic growth. (Read more)

- Father, we pray the economy will remain strong and continue to provide jobs and opportunity for our people.

- Nothing is better for a man than that he should eat and drink, and that his soul should enjoy good in his labor. This also, I saw, was from the hand of God. (Ecclesiastes 2:24)

6. Trump judicial pick breaks down in tears at hearing over legal group's attack - Fox News

One of President Trump's nominees for the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals broke down in tears during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing Wednesday, as he disputed suggestions that he would not be fair to members of the LGBTQ community.

Lawrence VanDyke was the subject of a scathing letter from the American Bar Association, sent to committee leadership Tuesday night. "Mr. VanDyke's accomplishments are offset by the assessments of interviewees that Mr. VanDyke is arrogant, lazy, an ideologue, and lacking in knowledge of the day-to-day practice including procedural rules," it said, explaining why despite his professional and academic experience, they gave him a "Not Qualified" rating.

Former Nevada State Bar president Alan Lefebvre also blasted the ABA's evaluation in a statement prior to the hearing. "Lawrence's reputation for excellence in all he strives to do shines through by a sampling of his written product," Lefebvre said, citing a number of cases on which VanDyke worked in the past. "It would be impossible for a reviewer to challenge such a qualified nominee's abilities unless he was yoked with an ideologue's agenda." (Read more)

- Father, we lift up the good people who experience slander through these confirmation hearings and pray they remain steadfast, having the courage to serve our government at every level.

- He will not be afraid of evil tidings; his heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord. (Psalm 112:7)

7. House Pushes Amnesty, Subsidy for Lower-Tech, Cheap Labor Farms - Breitbart

House leaders will introduce a farmworker amnesty plan on Wednesday that will provide citizenship to at least one million illegal migrants and to a future flood of visa workers who agree to work on U.S. farms for eight years.

The "Farm Workforce Modernization Act of 2019" amnesty would create two huge streams of low-wage labor for farm companies and likely for meatpackers and other agricultural employers. The amnesty legislation will likely be welcomed by progressives even though it will cut the marketplace wages for Americans and for H-2A farmworkers and will also reduce the economic incentives for investing in new labor-saving machinery or techniques, such as vertical farms.

The Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) is opposing the bill. "The name of this mass amnesty bill name should be changed to the Mandatory Farm Labor Act of 2019," FAIR said. (Read more)

- Father God, we pray this bill to exploit migrant workers at the expense of American citizens will fail.

- If there is a poor man with you, one of your brothers, in any of your towns in your land which the Lord your God is giving you, you shall not harden your heart, nor close your hand from your poor brother. (Deuteronomy 15:7)

8. Trump administration expands program to make asylum seekers wait in Mexico - Washington Examiner

"The President is using every tool available to address the humanitarian crisis at the border to include domestic policy changes and fostering collaboration with our neighbors in the region. The Migrant Protection Protocols has been a key component to the success we have had addressing the crisis," acting DHS Secretary Kevin McAleenan said in a statement. "I am grateful to the government of Mexico for their partnership, including accepting MPP returns at Eagle Pass."

Under the program, citizens of countries other than Mexico who have passed through Mexico but not sought asylum there are not allowed into the U.S. to claim asylum but must wait in Mexico until a federal immigration judge can hear the case.

As of earlier this month, approximately 50,000 people had been blocked from entering the United States at legal points. DHS has described its Remain in Mexico policy as a response to the surge of asylum seekers coming to the southern border over the past 12 months. (Read more)

- Father, we pray economic migrants will choose to go back to their countries of origin and only those who truly have a need for asylum will remain.

- You, Lord, will keep the needy safe and will protect us forever from the wicked (Psalm 12:7)

9. Kanye West: Democrats Spent Years Pushing Abortion and Welfare on Black Americans - Breitbart

Rap superstar Kanye West slammed the Democratic Party for pushing abortion and dependence on welfare on black Americans, explaining that many people have become "brainwashed" by the party's destructive ideas. In a wide-ranging interview with radio host Big Boy to promote his album "Jesus Is King," West opened up about his disdain for Democratic Party policies imposed on black people over decades.

The 41-year-old rapper also spoke in detail about his becoming a Born Again Christian, defending religious conservative values and argued that those who push political correctness are the same people who want to destroy Christianity altogether. (Read more)

- Father God, we pray Kanye West will remain strong in his faith and witness for You. Help him remain in You and bear much fruit for the Kingdom.

- Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. (John 15:4)

10. Media Ignore Unmasking of Twitter Exec as British Psyops Officer - FAIR

A recent investigation from independent news outlet Middle East Eye (9/30/19) uncovered that a senior Twitter executive is, in fact, an officer in the British Army's 77th Brigade, a unit dedicated to psychological operations (psyops), propaganda and online warfare. Gordon MacMillan joined the social media company in 2013. While both Twitter and the British Army attempted to distance themselves from the implications of the report, it is unclear why MacMillan would have this role if not to manipulate and propagandize the public.

For media so committed to covering news of foreign interference with US public opinion online, the response was distinctly muted. The story did not appear at all in the New York Times, Washington Post, CNN, CNBC, MSNBC, Fox News or virtually any other mainstream national outlet. In fact, the only corporate US outlet of any note covering the news that a person deciding what you see in your Twitter feed is a foreign psyops officer was Newsweek, which published a detailed analysis from Tareq Haddad. (Read more)

- Father, we thank You for continuing to expose dual loyalties. We pray our social media companies will be redeemed or replaced.

- For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil. (Ecclesiastes 12:14)

Misconceptions about America in prophecy

Many Christians have the impression that America is the hinge upon which the final door is opened regarding the return of Christ and the rapture. This leads to the misconception that all the American political disruption, immorality, economic disruption, deep state, support of abortion, the fall of traditional marriage, the alphabet of sexual orientation, climate change and whether your neighbor considers you a bigot and racist for which political candidate you support, must inevitably hasten the return of Christ. While it may play a miniscule part in general, scripture points to God the Father, not America, in this determination. Acts 1:7 says "It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father has put in his own power."

Now the rough part: God's timepiece on the return of Christ is not found in America. The political, economic or social condition of America is not the axel upon which prophecy turns. America is not found in the Bible. You have to do some pretty fantastic wordplay, eisegesis, and biblical gymnastics to find America in the Bible. It doesn't mean that America doesn't exist or has been destroyed. It only means that it is not specifically found in the Bible. America's role in prophecy today is contingent on its ability as a world power to spread the gospel, influence events, people, and the political landscape in the Middle East, which directly or indirectly impacts God's prophetic timepiece-Israel. Don't get angry with me, read your Bible for yourself.

When we think of the end times, we often think about the great falling away and how there will be wars and rumors of wars, famines and pestilences. There will be earthquakes, persecution, betrayals and false Christs. And as Christ says in Matthew 24:6, "see that you are not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet." Christ lists these events in general even as he says the gospel will be preached in all the world "for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come." Then Christ becomes specific to Israel and what happens there. In the chronology Christ provides, it is from Israel that the end time events culminate, and the rest of the world will know that the Lord is God. This is backed up by all the prophets that write of the end of days. So where does America fit in the end of days?

Currently, America is an influencer of the prophecy clock. During the immediate past president's two terms, American policy decidedly favored Israel's enemies. The current policy highly favors Israel. America is so powerful that it is currently a player in God's prophetic plan. This comes, however, with a scriptural warning: Matthew 25:32-34, "And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats: and he shall set the sheep on his right hand. Then shall the king say unto them on his right hand, Come, you blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you." Zechariah 12:9, speaking of the Day of the Lord, says "I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem." Best understand that America does not replace Israel in God's prophetic plan.

House Democrats Release Text Of Thursday Impeachment Resolution

House Democrats have released the text of an impeachment resolution currently scheduled for a Thursday vote. On Monday, Speaker Nancy Pelosi said the legislation is aimed at 'affirming the ongoing, existing investigation that is currently being conducted by our committees.'

According to the resolution, the three Democratic-led impeachment panels are directed to continue their probes into the Trump administration's interactions with the Ukrainian government to determine whether a quid pro quo or other impeachable offenses have been committed.

Time to Sound the Shofar!

Time to Sound the Shofar!

Sound the Shofar to Demolish Confederacies!

October 29, 2019

. . . Halloween is in just a few days and I hear people talking about how they are having so many difficulties. Relational arguments, misunderstandings, depression, oppression, accidents, mishaps etc. Well yes that's happening. Witches covens have declared war on the Trump administration as they practice their unholy rituals and more following a worldwide call to cast spells and magic against him What are we to do about it?

The media and Congress is like a horrible circus and attacking the President and conservatives who support him. Tension is high, stress for some in the thick of it is off the charts. What are we to do about it?

These are all confederacies. Webster's dictionary defines a confederacy as an alliance of people or groups formed for an illicit purpose. I'd say that all that I just talked about are confederacies. I believe for every problem there is a solution in the Word of God. We can either talk about the problem until we're blue in the face and wring our hands and cry or we can pray about it.

Let's pray about it.
(For your convenience, if you would like to print out the prayers, please go here.)

A National Day of Repentance

Simultaneous to this Sunday's IDOP, whoever is able is invited to make this Sunday a National Day of Repentance. Several serious leaders in the nationwide prayer movement have a conviction that only a divine work of prayer with repentance will move God's great hand of mercy and bring our nation back to Him. We agreed to begin broadcasting this invitation through each of our own outlets immediately, beginning Sunday, November 3rd.

Lord, we repent! We know that Christians around the world who are persecuted daily for their faithfulness to you are looking to us because they know that our nation was founded by men and women of Christian faith. God, help us be strong in the faith so that we can give them hope, inspiration, and support. Persecutions are already underway in our own nation, so may we be found faithful. Help us wholly to repent, to grow stronger in the faith, and with your reviving work see our beloved nation return to you and to impact the entire world for Christ!

Remember the Persecuted

International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church -
Sunday, November 3, 2019
Remember the Persecuted

Religious liberty is the freedom to hold beliefs of one's choice and to live according to those beliefs. While it was foundational to the formation of the United States of America, religious freedom is not merely an American right, but an inherent human right.

Yet the human race currently faces unprecedented religious persecution from governmental and social forces worldwide. In 2016, one or more religious groups were harassed in 187 countries around the world.

Over the last decade, Christians have been harassed in more countries, including the United States, than any other religious group. We do indeed face a worldwide crisis of religious liberty.

We must increase awareness of the expanding threat to religious freedom around the world and the persecution that many Christians are facing. As we grow awareness of this problem we must also increase engagement that will bring tangible hope and help to the persecuted.

Around the world, Christians are harassed, discriminated against, and even killed simply because of their beliefs. As fellow Christians, it is our responsibility to care about those who face danger just for living out their faith and lift them up in prayer. That's why we're urging Christians to observe the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church, which will take place on Sunday, November 3, 2019.

Here are some ways you can join us in praying for the persecuted church: Go here.

Classic Hymns

THE OLD RUGGED CROSS

"The cross of our Lord Jesus Christ." (Galatians 6:14)

Lyrics

On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross,
The emblem of suffering and shame;
And I love that old cross where the dearest and best
For a world of lost sinners was slain.

Refrain

So I'll cherish the old rugged cross,
Till my trophies at last I lay down;
I will cling to the old rugged cross,
And exchange it some day for a crown.

O that old rugged cross, so despised by the world,
Has a wondrous attraction for me;
For the dear Lamb of God left His glory above
To bear it to dark Calvary.

Refrain

In that old rugged cross, stained with blood so divine,
A wondrous beauty I see,
For 'twas on that old cross Jesus suffered and died,
To pardon and sanctify me.

Refrain

To the old rugged cross I will ever be true;
Its shame and reproach gladly bear;
Then He'll call me some day to my home far away,
Where His glory forever I'll share.

Refrain

Reagan Foundation executive director says area outside library is 'like a war zone'

Reagan Foundation Executive Director John Heubusch told Fox News' Chris Wallace that the scene at the Reagan Library on Wednesday in a blazing Simi Valley, Calif., was "like a war zone."

"John, you look like you've been caught in a fire all day," said Wallace on 'Fox News Reporting'. Heubusch said he'd been sheltering in place at the library for several hours, but the exit had been cleared. Museum personnel were asked to stay home from work on Thursday.

Heubusch said all of the national treasures kept safe at the library had been in peril all morning, as firefighters worked to keep rapidly to keep the flames at bay. Due to the "heroic efforts" of firefighters both in the air and on the ground, Heubusch said the Reagan Library might be spared from the flames in the Simi Valley.
He said earlier that day he'd watched about a dozen firemen stop flames about 100 yards from President and Mrs. Reagan's gravesite. "It shows you just how close these claims --, the place was really in peril."

"For those of us who knew the Reagans, who admired them and have enjoyed visiting the library multiple times over the years, this feels personal," said Wallace.

"This is a national treasure, Chris. It's a special place, many many thousands of people come here each year to pay their respects to Mr. and Mrs. Reagan. It's the largest and most visited presidential library in the United States. It has treasures in it that are absolutely irreplaceable," said Heubusch.

He emphasized what wonderful people the firemen, policemen and first responders are. "They saved the Reagan Library," he said. (Fox News) Read more

'Incidents Like These Bring Hope': Muslim Driver Saves Christians from Islamist Attack

[Faithwire.com] A Muslim driver has saved the lives of eight Christians workers after boldly refusing to obey the commands of an Islamist militant group.

The incident occurred in the South Kenyan city of Mandera, when a group of al-Shabaab fighters flagged down workers as they left a hospital building site. But instead of allowing the fighters to stop the vehicle, the Muslim driver put his foot to the floor, speeding off and evading the murderous jihadis.

A senior police official in the area told religious persecution watchdog, International Christian Concern, that officers became aware of the attempted attack and dispatched personnel to the area, meeting the car about four miles beyond the Al-Shabaab roadblock.

"We applaud Mr. Hassan Abdul for his [bravery] in escaping from the trap of the Somali insurgents and saving the lives of the eight innocent men," the official explained.

Our primary purpose is to offer intercession on site for the members of Congress and their staffs each day that the Senate and the House of Representatives are in session; and our chief prayer focus is that "God's will be done in earth, as it is in heaven." [Matthew 6:10].

Because Jesus Christ has shed His blood for all, we, too, pray for ALL, in a nonpartisan manner. Also, because the scriptures indicate that "the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" (James 4:17), we are confident that fervent prayer, offered in the halls of the highest chambers of government in our land, can avail much for America. Capitol Hill Prayer Partners welcomes those who feel called to join us, engaging in this strategic work of intercession for our nation: "For there is no power but of God; the powers that be are ordained of God." [Romans 13:1]
