In Israel: Celebrating Sukkot

In Israel: Celebrating Sukkot
Several articles to help us understand the meanings and the practices of this very special holiday on the Hebrew Calendar

Source for all articles: United with Israel

1. Celebrating Sukkot in Israel: A Joyous Holiday for ALL Nations!

Every nation, Jewish or not, has a place with God and the Holy Temple in Jerusalem.

If you're Jewish, this article is for you. And if you're not Jewish, this article is for you! That's because Sukkot is a holiday for the entire world! That's right, although most Jewish holidays are, well, for Jews, Sukkot is a bit different. Let me explain. . .

Every nation, Jewish or not, has a place with God and the Holy Temple in Jerusalem. As the verse says, "I will bring them all [all the nations of the world] to My holy mountain and make them joyful in My house of prayer. I will accept their sacrifices on My altar; For My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations." (Isaiah 56:7)

2. The Power of Unity - A Lesson from Sukkot

"And you shall take for yourselves on the first day [of Sukkot] , the fruit of the hadar tree (the "etrog"), date palm fronds (the "lulav"), myrtle branches (the "hadassim"), and willow branches (the "aravot") and you shall rejoice before Hashem your God for seven days" (Leviticus 23:40)

3. Sukkot (Feast of Tabernacles) Guide for the Perplexed

The 3rd Jewish pilgrimage holiday (following Passover and Shavou'ot - Pentecost) has been celebrated for the last 3,300 years, commemorating the Exodus, the 40 years of wandering in the Sinai Desert, the construction of the Holy Tabernacle and the victories along the way into the Land of Israel. It reaffirms faith in God, reality-based optimism, gratitude for the Ingathering and the harvest. Sukkot reminds people of human limitations and (its humble structure) emphasizes the importance of humility. Humility is a central message of Sukkot, as demonstrated by the seven-day relocation from one's permanent residence to the temporary, humble, wooden Sukkah (booth).

Sukkot (in Hebrew) is named after the first stop during the Exodus from Egypt, the town of Sukkota, as documented in Exodus 13:20-22 and Numbers 33:3-5. It commemorates the transition from nomadic life in the desert to permanence in the Promised Land; from oblivion to deliverance; and from the spiritual state-of-mind during the High Holidays to the mundane of the rest of the year.

- The Hebrew root of Sukkot stands for the key characteristics of the relationship between the Jewish people, the Jewish Homeland and faith in God. The Hebrew word 'Sukkah' means wholeness and totality, the shelter of the tabernacle, to anoint, divine curtain/shelter and attentiveness. (Read more)

4. WATCH: A Special Sukkot Holiday Greeting from the IDF --

Here is a special Sukkot holiday greeting from the Israeli Defense Forces, which also explains what the holiday is all about.

The holiday of Sukkot is a time of great joy for the Jewish people.

This holiday is a connection to the period that the Jewish people spent wandering the desert after a grueling, brutal exile as slaves in Egypt.

No matter the holiday, the IDF always makes sure to send out special greetings to the people of Israel and all over the world.

This is just one of many things that makes the Israeli army so great and special. (Read more)

1. 'We assume there are weapons stockpiles on the Temple Mount' - ww.israelhayom.com

Both sides worry - about extremist Jews who might try to carry out a terrorist attack or Muslims who will bring in weapons for use in an immediate or future attack. Police commanders declare unequivocally that there are no weapons on the Mount, but Dichter is much more cautious.

"I'm telling you that our working assumption must be that there are weapons on the Mount. The police must work under the assumption that they could be surprised by guns," said former head of the Shin Bet security agency MK Avi Dichter.

2. Police nab weapons, suspects in Arab village after 2019's 74th murder in sector - Times of Israel

The Israel Police on Saturday uncovered a stash of thousands of bullets during searches in the northern village of Ara, and detained 13 suspects, as authorities ramped up operations against organized crime and widespread killings in the country's Arab community.

According to Channel 12, a canine unit moved through towns in the Wadi Ara region, seeking guns, ammunition and other weaponry amid a public outcry by the Arab community over the epidemic of violent crime. Officials said officers in Ara found thousands of bullets as well as other weaponry.

Wadi Ara is a valley adjacent to the northern West Bank, southeast of Haifa, which is home to many Arab villages and towns, including Umm al-Fahm, Ara, Baqa al-Gharbiyye and Kafr Qara. Police told Israel's Channel 12 in a statement that they were "focusing enforcement activity against possession and use of illegal weaponry, as part of the fight against serious violence in the Arab community and for the security of the normative public."

3. PA: We will prevent IDF from entering Area A - Jerusalem Post

The Palestinians will prevent the IDF from entering Area A of the West Bank which, according to the Oslo Accords, is exclusively administered by the Palestinian Authority, PA Prime Minister Mohammed Shtayyeh said on Saturday.

"We will prevent the Israeli occupation army from raiding Area A," Shtayyeh said in an interview with the Palestinian daily Al-Quds. "We won't do this through violence, but with our bodies. Israel invades the areas of the Palestinian Authority, and the signed agreements don't allow these incursions. We will break this fait accompli."

Since Operation Defensive Shield in 2002, the IDF has been briefly entering Area A and other West Bank areas on a regular basis to arrest Palestinians suspected of involvement in terrorism and other anti-Israeli activities.

Palestinians have long been criticizing the PA for failing to order its security forces to confront IDF soldiers, particularly in Area A.

In the interview, Shtayyeh did not say that the PA security forces would engage the IDF. His statement is seen as a call to Palestinian civilians to take to the streets and confront the IDF troops when they enter Area A.

4. Citing 1973 War, Netanyahu Stresses Importance of Preemptive Strike - Jewish Press

Prime Minister and Defense Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday, at the state memorial ceremony for the fallen of the 1973 Yom Kippur War, cited the main lesson from that war, when the Israeli government and the IDF ignored information about an imminent Arab attack, resulting in close to 3,000 Israeli dead:

"The IDF is prepared to preempt any threat, defensively and offensively, with crushing strength, in weaponry and in spirit. This is the tremendous spirit that was instilled in us by the generation of the Yom Kippur War," Netanyahu said.

He was speaking at the Hall of Remembrance on Mt. Herzl in Jerusalem.

5. Israel Police to assign hundreds of new officers to Arab sector - www.israelhayom.com

As violent crime in the Arab sector continues to spiral out of control, Arab MKs and Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan met with senior Israel Police officials for more than three hours Thursday evening on the issue of escalating violence among Israeli Arabs.

Head of the Israel Police Intelligence and Investigations Division, Maj. Gen. Gadi Siso, presented the MKs with an overview of what the police were doing to combat crime in Arab communities. Siso also said he supported an expansion to a five-point government program to make Arab communities safer.

The meeting ended with a decision to allocate resources for 620 additional police officers who will be assigned to the Arab sector in an attempt to contain crime. The additional manpower will be permanent.

6. President Rivlin Calls for Unity As Israel's 22nd Government Sworn in - BFP

Friday, 4 October 2019 | The 120 members of Israel's 22nd Knesset (Parliament) were sworn in yesterday, a mere 156 days since the 21st Knesset was inaugurated in April and 127 days since that Knesset voted to dissolve after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu failed to stitch together a 61-seat majority government, sending Israel to a second round of national elections in a year.

While the inauguration of Parliament usually brings political stability, Israelis couldn't help but feel a sense of grim apprehension. In the wake of the second national election that yielded no clear winner and failed to break the political stalemate, Netanyahu faces a much tougher challenge to gather the 61-seat majority than he did in April. In fact, Israeli media is referring to the responsibility as "mission impossible."

As the 120 MKs (Members of Knesset) took their oaths, many wondered whether the 22nd Knesset will go the way of the 21st Knesset, sending Israel to a dreaded third round of national elections. . . (Read more)

- Pray for God's intervention in this situation. As Israel faces threats on virtually every side, a stable government is essential for the security of the nation. Pray for Prime Minister Netanyahu as he seeks to form a coalition. Ask the Lord to soften the hearts of those who have stood against him, putting the needs of the country first.

- "I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye. Do not be like the horse or like the mule, which have no understanding." (Psalm 32:8-9a)

7. Two Murdered in Attack on Synagogue in Germany on Holiest Day on the Jewish Calendar - BFP

Thursday, 10 October 2019 | One man in east Germany attempted to turn Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement)-the holiest day of the Jewish calendar-into a bloodbath. The German man killed two people in the city of Halle while attempting to attack a synagogue during the Yom Kippur services.

The perpetrator, whom police have identified as 27-year-old Stephan Balliet, shot a woman passing by outside the synagogue and a man in a nearby kebab shop. Balliet, described by the media as a right-wing extremist or neo-Nazi, livestreamed the attack on Twitch, a video platform owned by Amazon.

The gunman was captured by police and is currently in custody "being treated" for injuries, a police spokesperson told Agence France-Presse (AFP). (Read more)

- Pray for God's supernatural protection to surround His people no matter where they reside, but particularly in Europe right now as anti-Semitism soars. Beseech Him that the governments of the world will take a firm stand against these heinous acts of hatred, prosecuting the offenders and taking whatever other steps are necessary to eradicate this cancer from their nations. Also, pray for the families and friends of these victims who are mourning as the Jewish people enter one of the most joyous periods in their annual festival cycle.

- "Arise, O God, plead Your own cause; remember how the foolish man reproaches You daily. Do not forget the voice of Your enemies; the tumult of those who rise up against you increases continually." (Psalm 74:22-23)

8. Israel's Tourist Numbers Skyrocket in September 2019 - BFP

Thursday, 10 October 2019 | According to the Central Bureau of Statistics, approximately 405,000 tourist entries were recorded in September 2019, 44% more than September 2018 and 46% more than September 2017. . .

We are marketing Israel around the world in line with our innovative and market-focused strategy, and we are seeing the results. We continue to develop new markets, while working to maintain traditional markets. In recent years, tourism has become an engine for economic growth and improves our image around the world and I welcome that." (Read more)

- Praise God for every pilgrim that has come-or is yet to come-to Israel. Pray that each will have a profound experience with the land, the people and the Lord, going home as strong supporters and advocates for this place that God calls His special treasure.

1. U.S. deploying 3,000 troops, advanced equipment to Saudi Arabia - Washington Times

The U.S. military is significantly increasing troop deployments to Saudi Arabia, the Pentagon said Friday, announcing that 3,000 American personnel - including two fighter squadrons and an air expeditionary wing - will be sent to the Persian Gulf nation, as well as advanced missile defense systems.

U.S. officials said Saudi Arabia explicitly asked the Washington to send additional forces to the region, and that the latest move is in response to last month's attack on Saudi oil facilities that the Trump administration, Riyadh and European powers have all blamed on Iran.

One official speaking on condition of anonymity with The Washington Times said administration officials have recently been carefully considering "moving more and more troops into Saudi Arabia." (Read more)

- Father God, now that our Commander-in-Chief has issued orders to send 3,000 of our troops to Saudi Arabia, we ask for Your Hand of protection to rest upon each one. Lord God, we ask, too, that You would grace our President with Your wisdom as he works with our military leaders in mapping out strategy to protect our nation, too. In Your Name, amen.

- "I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you." (Psalm 32:8)

2. Donald Trump Announces Future 'Substantial Phase One Deal' with China - Breitbart

President Donald Trump announced a "substantial phase one deal" with China on Friday after continued negotiations with Vice Premier of China H.E. Liu He. "We've come to a very substantial phase one deal," Trump said, noting that it would soon be written and signed by both parties.

The president said that China had agreed to $40 billion to $50 billion in agricultural purchases, as well as an agreement on intellectual property and financial services. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said that they had also reached an agreement surrounding China's currency.

Trump said that the deal was still "subject to getting written," but Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin confirmed that the scheduled tariff hike from 25 percent to 30 percent on October 15 would not take place as a result of the agreement. Trump said he would likely sign the potential deal with President Xi Jinping at the APEC summit in Chile in November. (Read more)

- Father in heaven, we pray that You guide President Trump to see behind the scenes to discern the true intentions of China. We ask that he not agree to any intellectual property and financial services with China that would bleed America of its strongest stability. We pray this in the Name of Jesus.

- "But I will sacrifice unto God with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the Lord." (Jonah 2:9)

3. Trump Tax Documents Must Be Turned Over To Congress, Court Rules - Epoch Times

President Donald Trump lost an appeal to stop a House congressional subpoena of his tax documents. Trump's accountant, Mazars USA, will now have to turn over eight years of accounting records. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit made a 2-1 ruling in the case. The president could try to appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court.

The House Oversight Committee had subpoenaed Trump's accounting firm, Mazars USA, to hand over the financial documents. Trump's legal team has said that the investigation served no legitimate purpose.

[In a separate case,] On Oct. 7, the U.S. Second Circuit Court of Appeals in New York granted an emergency stay to Trump, who had asked the court to block a subpoena issued by Manhattan District Attorney Cy Vance. (Read more)

- Almighty God, we pray that all the haters of President Trump who consistently attempt to ruin him be squelched by heavenly angels sent on assignment from the Lord Himself. Disarm and dismantle the ruling of the U.S. Court of Appeals who have been controlled by Trump haters who want to prevent him from winning the 2020 presidency. We pray in the Name of Jesus.

- "For I, says the Lord, will be unto him a wall of fire round about, and will be the glory in the midst of him." (Zechariah 2:5)

4. Joe Biden worked with whistleblower when he was vice president, officials reveal - Washington Examiner

The 2020 Democratic candidate with whom the CIA whistleblower had a "professional" tie is Joe Biden, according to intelligence officers and former White House officials.

As an experienced CIA official on the NSC with the deep knowledge of Ukraine that he demonstrated in his complaint, it is probable that the whistleblower briefed Biden and likely that he accompanied him on Air Force Two during at least one of the six visits the 2020 candidate made to the country.

Last month, the whistleblower accused President Trump of abusing his position by asking Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to investigate Biden and his son, Hunter, who sat on the board of a Ukrainian gas company. His complaint is now at the center of a Democrat-led impeachment inquiry, prompting Trump and his allies to cry foul. (Read more)

- Almighty God, we pray that there be a heavenly host of angels on assignment by God to war against the whistleblower, Biden, the Clintons, and all those making false accusations against President Trump. The devil and all his advocates are a defeated foe. We pray in the Name of Jesus.

- "The angels of the Lord encamps round about them that fear Him, and delivers them." (Psalm 34:7)

5. Adam Schiff has 2 aides who worked with whistleblower at White House - Washington Examiner

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff recruited two former National Security Council aides who worked alongside the CIA whistleblower at the NSC during the Obama and Trump administrations, the Washington Examiner has learned.

Abigail Grace, who worked at the NSC until 2018, was hired in February, while Sean Misko, an NSC aide until 2017, joined Schiff's committee staff in August, the same month the whistleblower submitted his complaint. Misko, 37, worked in the Obama administration as a member of the secretary of state's policy planning staff under deputy chief of staff Jake Sullivan, who became Hillary Clinton's top foreign policy official during her 2016 presidential campaign. In 2015, Misko was the director for the Gulf states at the NSC, remaining there into the Trump administration's first year. Misko's name surfaced in the Hillary Clinton email controversy when he worked in the State Department during the Obama administration. (Read more)

- Almighty God, there is a wicked war going on against President Trump through all the names of people listed in this article. We earnestly pray that all the hatred and evil spirits in these people be bound and rendered powerless through the mighty Blood of Jesus. We command these forces to be disarmed and cast down. In the mighty Name of Jesus.

-"With them is an arm of flesh; but with us is the Lord our God to help us, and to fight our battles." (2 Chronicles 32:8)

6. Acting Homeland Security Secretary Kevin McAleenan Steps Down - Epoch Times

Acting Homeland Security Secretary Kevin McAleenan is stepping down, and a new acting chief of the agency is set to be named next week, President Donald Trump announced late Friday.

Shortly following the president's announcement, McAleenan issued a farewell statement on Twitter, thanking Trump, for his support. "I will work with the White House and DHS leadership teams on a smooth transition, and remain forever grateful to the men and women of the Department for their steadfast efforts to secure our country."

McAleenan became the fourth person to lead the agency under Trump in April after the president asked for the resignation of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen. (Read more)

- Father, we pray You will strengthen the efforts of Homeland Security as they stand solid and immoveable to secure the safety of our country against all the wiles of the dark enemies. We pray in the Name of Jesus.

- "You are God's battle axe and weapons of war: for with you, will I (God) break in pieces the nations, and with you will I destroy kingdoms." (Jeremiah 51:20)

7. ICE Chief Says 'Judicial Overreach' Is Threatening Public Safety - Epoch Times

Speaking from the White House press room podium, acting ICE Director Matt Albence lambasted a judge's ruling that blocks Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) from using database information to issue detainers.

California District Judge André Birotte Jr. issued the ruling on Sept. 27, on the premise that relying on database information alone can be unreliable and has sometimes led to the wrongful detention of American citizens. The ACLU, which represented the plaintiffs, celebrated the decision, saying it was a landmark ruling. Albence said the decision, "issued by a single judge in Los Angeles, will impact at least 43 states, threatening communities far beyond the one in which this judge sits. This decision will threaten public safety, as it will lead to the release of criminal aliens back onto the street-criminals that we won't find before they hurt more innocent victims-victims that could have been spared their pain and suffering if only ICE had been allowed to do its job." (Read more)

- Almighty God, we earnestly pray that this ruling by Judge Birotte be pulled down, destroyed, and not acted upon. Lord, because You are Lord over all things, we pray that the release of criminal-minded aliens be met by legions of heavenly angels on assignment to defeat each and every one of them. Protect America, mighty God, from the acts of the ACLU. We pray in the powerful Name of Jesus.

- "With the holy armies of the Lord will God break in pieces man and woman; and with you will I break in pieces old and young; and with you will I break in pieces the young man and the maid." (Jeremiah 51:22)

8. Ohio's Drug Crisis Is Caused by Mexican Cartels, Not Prescription Drugs - Restoring Liberty

There are endless lawsuits in Ohio against pharmaceutical companies over the drug crisis, but to get the real culprit, it's time to sue the government for not enforcing immigration laws. The drug crisis is all about the Mexican drug cartels and their criminal alien distribution networks in our country, not prescription opioids.

"Mexican cartel activity in Ohio is very high - that's where our drugs are coming from. They're not being manufactured here in the United States, the way that they get here is through the networks that the cartels run."

During the major bust on "Devil's Highway" in Lawrence, Massachusetts, two weeks ago, 40 individuals were arrested for drug trafficking in the major pipeline fueling the entire crisis in New England. According to former DEA special operations division head Derek Maltz, "The majority of the people arrested" in that bust were illegal aliens. (Read more)

- Father God, we pray that with a mighty sweep of Your hand, cut down the Mexican cartels, the criminal alien distribution networks, the evil government networks and by the power of the Blood of Jesus, destroy to the ground all the illegal activities in the drug world here in America. Cleanse our land of this heinous corruption. We pray in the Name of Jesus to save America.

- "The light of the wicked shall be put out, and the spark of his fire shall not shine. The light shall be dark in his tabernacle, and his candle shall be put out with him." (Job 18:5-6)

9. 2020 Dems Take Aim at Churches, Schools, and Conscience Rights in Favor of LGBT Issues - Conservative Review

At CNN's LGBT town hall, 2020 Democrats showed the public where they stand on the issues of sexual orientation and gender identity as well as what they want to do to people and organizations who disagree with them.

Beto O'Rourke wants to punish religious organizations whose teachings don't support same-sex marriage by stripping them of tax-exempt status. Cory Booker promised to use the federal government to "go after schools" on transgender issues. Pete Buttigieg said that invoking religious liberty in the face of gay and transgender policy demands "is an insult to faith."

Elizabeth Warren made it very clear that she wants to use people's tax dollars to pay for transgender surgery. Joe Biden threw his support behind the so-called "Equality Act," which would put sexual orientation and gender identity on the same level as race and sex in federal discrimination law and would also gut religious liberty protections for dissenters. (Read more)

- Oh Father God, we are truly living in the end times where goodness is bad and all sin is good. Father, protect the churches, and give them boldness to take a stand for truth in the midst of these threats.

- "They rejected God's statutes, and His covenant that He made with their fathers, and His testimonies which He testified against them; and they followed vanity, and became vain, and went after the heathen that were round about them, concerning whom the Lord had charged them, that they should not do like them." (2 Kings 17:15)

10. Court Rules Ohio Ban on Down Syndrome Abortions Illegal - Breitbart

A panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit ruled, 2-1, that the Ohio law banning abortions performed because of a prenatal diagnosis of Down syndrome violated the Supreme Court's 1973 decision in Roe v. Wade, specifically by disregarding whether the fetus is viable at the time of the abortion.

In the majority opinion, Judges Bernice Bouie Donald, an Obama appointee, and R. Guy Cole, a Clinton appointee, affirmed the lower court's ruling and noted the state's argument that the decision in Roe v. Wade "expressly rejected the claim that the right to abortion is 'absolute' and therefore entitles a woman to obtain an abortion 'for whatever reasons she alone chooses.'"

Senior Judge Alice Batchelder, a George H.W. Bush appointee, dissented, however. She affirmed the state's interest in fighting discrimination against those with disabilities. Batchelder also cited Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas' statement that an abortion law in Indiana "and other laws like it promote a State's compelling interest in preventing abortion from becoming a tool of modern-day eugenics." (Read more)

- Almighty God, we pray for the hearts of all these mothers who desire to abort their Down syndrome baby. Deal with their hearts and bring them to not join in this act of murder. We pray in the Name of Jesus.

- "You shall not follow a multitude to do evil, neither shall you speak in a cause to decline after many to wrest judgment." (Exodus 23:2)

PRAISE HIM, PRAISE HIM

"I will praise the Lord all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live." (Psalm 146:2)

Lyrics

Praise Him, praise Him-Jesus, our blessèd Redeemer, Sing, O earth, His wonderful love proclaim. Hail Him! hail Him! highest archangels in glory; Strength and honor give to His holy name! Like a shepherd, Jesus will guard His children, In His arms He carries them all day long: O ye saints that dwell on the mountain of Zion, Praise Him, praise Him ever in joyful song.

Praise Him, praise Him-Jesus, our blessèd Redeemer, For our sins He suffered, and bled, and died; He our rock, our hope of eternal salvation, Hail Him, hail Him, Jesus the Crucified. Loving Savior, meekly enduring sorrow, Crowned with thorns that cruelly pierced His brow; Once for us rejected, despised and forsaken, Prince of Glory, He is triumphant now.
Praise Him, praise Him-Jesus, our blessèd Redeemer, Heav'nly portals loud with hosannas ring, Jesus, Savior, reigneth forever and ever. Crown Him! Crown Him-Prophet, and Priest, and King! Death is vanquished! Tell it with joy, ye faithful. Where is now thy victory, boasting grave? Jesus lives! No longer thy portals are cheerless; Jesus lives, the mighty and strong to save.

A New Orleans Saints football player, who was fined $7,017 by the NFL for wearing a "Man of God" headband during a Sept. 22 game, has won his appeal against the league and turned the incident into a fundraising opportunity for a local hospital.

[Demario] Davis' wallet will still be $7,017 lighter, though, as he pledged to donate the amount of the original fine to St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi. One hundred percent of subsequent sales of the headband, which also come in "Woman of God" and "Child of God" versions, are benefitting the hospital.
As Christian Headlines reported last week, Davis wore the headband for three weeks before catching the eye of NFL officials, who maintained the headband violated its policy of "personal messages" on uniforms.

After receiving the fine, Davis, founder of the faith-based Devoted Dreamers Foundation, announced he would no longer wear the headband.

When Davis announced the fine on social media, fans came out in support, including a local Catholic School, which donned homemade versions of the headband for a school-wide photo, captured on Twitter by Anne Cutler.

Even before the NFL announced the reversal, Davis said no matter the outcome he believed God was in control.

"If He can get glory from it, I think He can get glory from it whether I personally wear the headband or don't wear the headband," he said. "He's always gonna be in control of the whole situation. We're still all good."

About Capitol Hill Prayer Partners

Our Mission Statement

Capitol Hill Prayer Partners (CHPP) is a ministry which is positioned on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., helping members of the Body of Christ to "pray for those in authority over us" in our federal government. Our primary purpose is to offer intercession on site for the members of Congress and their staffs each day that the Senate and the House of Representatives are in session; and our chief prayer focus is that "God's will be done in earth, as it is in heaven." [Matthew 6:10].

Because Jesus Christ has shed His blood for all, we, too, pray for ALL, in a nonpartisan manner. Also, because the scriptures indicate that "the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" (James 4:17), we are confident that fervent prayer, offered in the halls of the highest chambers of government in our land, can avail much for America. Capitol Hill Prayer Partners welcomes those who feel called to join us, engaging in this strategic work of intercession for our nation: "For there is no power but of God; the powers that be are ordained of God." [Romans 13:1]
