1. Abbas Considers Terminating All Relations with Israel - Jerusalem Online
On May 15th the Central Committee of the PLO will meet in Ramallah to discuss the total cessation of diplomatic relations with Israel. If approved, this decision would be made just weeks before the Trump administration publishes its peace plan for the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Mahmoud Aloul, a member in the Fatah leadership said that this would mean no longer recognizing Israel as a state, and a complete suspension of security coordination between Israel and Palestinian security forces.
The PLO's threats come in response to Israel's decision to deduct from Palestinian taxes the annual amount paid by the Palestinian Authority to terrorists and their families for carrying out terrorist attacks.

2. Regional power clash? Egypt and Iran vie for influence in Gaza - JNS
(April 23, 2019 / JNS) At the start of April, Hebrew media reports quoted unnamed Israeli security officials as saying that the Iranian-backed Palestinian Islamic Jihad terror faction, whose rocket arsenal is larger than even that of Hamas, was planning a significant attack on Israeli targets.
The information appeared to achieve its goal of discouraging the perpetrators, and no attack transpired. But the fact that PIJ was reportedly planning an incident that could have upset Egyptian attempts to restore calm to the Gaza Strip could hint at a wider struggle taking place within Gaza between Egypt and Iran.
Gaza's ruling regime, Hamas, has reportedly faced demands from Egypt in recent months to decide whether it "takes its orders from Tehran or continues to implement the understandings for calm" formulated by the head of Egyptian intelligence Abbas Kamel.
The clash of interests between these two regional Middle Eastern powers seems clear; Egypt wishes to see Gaza calm, stable and cut off from ISIS-affiliated terror networks in Sinai, which also threaten Egyptian security as a whole.

3. Lebanon 'ready' to demarcate maritime border with Israel under UN supervision - Times of Israel
The speaker of Lebanon's parliament said Tuesday that Beirut is prepared to demarcate its maritime border with Israel, a move that could resolve an ongoing oil and gas dispute between the two neighboring countries, which are still technically at war.
Speaker of the parliament Nabih Berri told the head of the UN peacekeeping force deployed to southern Lebanon that "we are ready to draw Lebanon's maritime borders and those of the Exclusive Economic Zone using the same procedure that was used to draw the Blue Line under the supervision of the United Nations," according to Lebanon's National News Agency.
The Blue Line is the land border between Israel and Lebanon as drawn by the UN after Israel withdrew from Lebanon in 2000. Beirut disputes part of the border, and claims an area known in Israel as Mount Dov and in Lebanon as the Shebaa Farms.

4. Netanyahu's security guards have a new weapon - Israel National News
A new weapon of the Shin Bet security service was revealed during the Netanyahus' Passover vacation which will be used to neutralize a new threat - drones. A security guard was holding a rifle intended to neutralize drones in the air.
The anti-drone rifle is a product of the Chinese company HIKVISION, which sells it to security forces and police around the world. It can be purchased at Ali Express for $20,000.
The rifle is connected to a charger carried on the back of the security guard which transmits a frequency that intercepts drones in a range of up to 1,000 meters. The anti-drone rifle provides a solution to the possibility of someone attempting to use a weapon-carrying drone to assassinate the prime minister.
Serious security issues were revealed in a special report by the State Comptroller on the subject of "national preparations for protection from the threat of drones." The issues include the lack of a requirement for a license for drone operators, the absence of a body that supervises the activity of drone operators, and a lack of IDF preparation.

5. Politicians call for West Bank sovereignty, tripling number of Hebron Jews -- Jerusalem Post
The new government must apply sovereignty to Judea and Samaria, Deputy Defense Minister Eli Ben-Dahan pledged on Monday as he spoke to the thousand of visitors who flocked to the Tomb of the Patriarchs in Hebron.
"We are praying that we will create a new government, a government that will declare sovereignty on Judea and Samaria," said Ben-Dahan, who served in the last government under the now defunct Bayit Yehudi Party.
"A government that with God's help will show the world that there is no difference between Hebron and Beersheba. Hebron is what connects Jerusalem to Beersheba. Here in Hebron the nation of Israel connects to its roots," Ben-Dahan said.
"With God's help we will declare that Judea and Samaria is an inseparable part of Israel," he added.

1. House Republicans leave border tour shocked to learn immigrant children being recycled by smugglers - Washington Examiner
Congressional Republicans who toured part of the southern border this week saw first-hand the number of families and children arriving. But the House lawmakers were shocked at the idea that smugglers recycle children across the border.
A Border Patrol agent said the agency has begun documenting and referring for prosecution individuals who recycle children who traveled from Central America to the U.S. then were sent back to Central America or Mexico so that an unrelated adult could take them on that same journey and claim them as his or her child.
Because agents do not take fingerprints or other biometric information from children 14 years old or younger, they cannot verify if a child being taken into custody is arriving for the first time or is related to the adult bringing them, the agent said.

- Father, You know each of these precious children by name. We pray for their deliverance from those using them to gain entry to the United States. Help our Border Patrol systematically identify those who are being trafficked and harmed.
- Even so it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish. (Matthew 18:14)
2. Trump Issues Order to Crack Down on Visa Overstays - FreeBeacon
President Donald Trump is ordering the Departments of State and Homeland Security to take all steps in their power to reduce the currently hundreds of thousands of people who overstay temporary visas every year.
A presidential memorandum, issued Monday afternoon, instructs the secretaries of State and Homeland Security to outline within 120 days recommendations for how to reduce visa overstays, especially from the 28 countries from which more than 10 percent of arrivals overstay their visas. The memorandum also instructs the secretaries to take all steps currently in their power to cut visa overstays, and orders a review of the visa waiver program.
"What we're doing here is shutting a backdoor for illegal immigration," an administration official told the Washington Free Beacon. "This is part of the administration's comprehensive approach to combating illegal immigration."

- Father, we pray the State Department and Homeland Security will complete and implement a comprehensive plan to remove aliens who have overstayed their temporary visas.
- Do not take advantage of each other, but fear your God. I am the Lord your God. (Leviticus 25:17)
3. Supreme Court conservatives appear poised to support Trump administration in census dispute - Washington Examiner
An ideologically divided Supreme Court on Tuesday seemed likely to back the Trump administration's efforts to add a citizenship question to the 2020 census.
For roughly 80 minutes, the justices heard arguments in a challenge to Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross's decision to include a question about citizenship on the census form, which lower court judges have found to be a violation of federal law and the Constitution.
But the court's five conservative justices appeared poised to allow the question to remain on the census and seemed sympathetic to the Trump administration's argument that a citizenship question was needed to bolster enforcement of the Voting Rights Act. "The Citizen Voting Age Population is the critical element in voting rights enforcement, and this is getting citizen information," he said.

-Father, we thank You for favor before the court and pray the final decision will affirm the Trump administration's position to add the citizen question to the census.
-Then people will say, "Surely the righteous still are rewarded; surely there is a God who judges the earth." (Psalm 58:11)
4. Matt Gaetz: Evidence of FBI-media 'corruption' coming out before DOJ inspector general report - Washington Examiner
During an interview on Fox News late Saturday, Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) said the Justice Department inspector general is examining the FBI's relationship with some members of the press. "One of the other nuggets that the inspector general is working on is the corruption that existed between the media and members of the FBI," Gaetz said.
"Where members of the mainstream media were giving concert passes and athletic tickets and other incentives to people in the FBI to leak to them so we'll be seeing that even before we see the inspector general's report on how this fraudulent investigation began."
Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz announced the initiation of a FISA abuse investigation in March 2018 after requests from both then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions and Republican members in Congress. He is expected to wrap up by May or June.

5. FBI found Hillary Clinton's emails in Obama White House, former top official says - Washington Examiner
As part of a court-ordered discovery related to Clinton's unauthorized email server, Bill Priestap was asked by conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch to identify representatives of Clinton, her former staff, and government agencies from which "email repositories were obtained" by the FBI.
He divulged a nonexhaustive list, which included the Executive Office of the President. Other people mentioned were former Clinton aides Cheryl Mills, Heather Samuelson, Jacob Sullivan, and Justin Cooper, former Clinton information technology staffer Bryan Pagliano, the State Department, Secret Service, and Washington-based law firm Williams and Connolly.
"This astonishing confirmation, made under oath by the FBI, shows that the Obama FBI had to go to President Obama's White House office to find emails that Hillary Clinton tried to destroy or hide from the American people." Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said in a statement.

-Father, we pray this revelation, that the Obama White House was actively participating in hiding these e-mails, will result in accountability for all persons involved.

6. Trump, his businesses file lawsuit against House Oversight chairman - Washington Examiner
President Trump and his businesses are suing House Oversight Committee Chairman Elijah Cummings to block a congressional subpoena to obtain the president's financial records.
"House Democrats are singularly obsessed with finding something they can use to damage the President politically," Trump's lawyers wrote in the complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.
The lawsuit escalates a standoff between Trump and Democrats in the House. In the filing, Trump's lawyers argued Congress only has the authority to conduct oversight and investigations in order to enact legislation. "Investigations are legitimate only insofar as they further some legitimate legislative purpose," they said, also accusing Cummings of overstepping his authority by "assuming the powers of the Department of Justice."

7. Trump taps NIU law prof, Wheaton and Northwestern grad to be ambassador-at-large - Chicago Sun-Times
President Donald Trump on Friday nominated Northern Illinois University Law Professor Morse Tan for a State Department post, ambassador at large for global criminal justice. The State Department office for global criminal justice deals with "issues related to war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide."
Tan, whose fields include international law and human rights, received his undergraduate and master's degrees from Wheaton College in 1997 and 1998 and his law degree from the Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law in 2001. He speaks Korean and Spanish.
The White House said in a release that Tan "completed the emerging leader program of the Chicago Council on Global Affairs and was selected as Korean-American of the Year by the Korean-American Society of Chicago."

8. United Methodists edge toward breakup over LGBT policies - FoxNews
While other mainline Protestant denominations have embraced gay-friendly practices, the UMC still bans them, though acts of defiance by pro-LGBT clergy have multiplied. Many have performed same-sex weddings; others have come out as gay or lesbian from the pulpit.
The UMC's largest church - the 22,000-member Church of the Resurrection with four locations in the Kansas City area - is among those applying financial pressure. Its lead pastor, Adam Hamilton, says his church is temporarily withholding half of the $2.5 million that it normally would have paid to the UMC's head office at this stage of the year.
Scott Jones, bishop of the UMC's Houston-based Texas conference, says churchgoers in his region are divided in their views, but a majority supports the Traditional Plan's concepts. "I have urged all of us to love each other, listen to each other and respect each other, even if we disagree," said Jones, who holds out hope that the UMC's disparate factions can preserve some form of unity.

-Father, we pray conservatives within the United Methodist Church will hold onto Your Word and receive Your favor. We ask for a renewed respect for the authority of scripture throughout the membership, and repentance by those causing division.
-But now I am writing to you that you must not associate with anyone who claims to be a brother or sister but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or slanderer, a drunkard or swindler. Do not even eat with such people. (1 Corinthians 5:11)
9. North Korea confirms Kim to meet Putin in Russia - France 24
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un will "soon" visit Russia for his first summit with President Vladimir Putin, state media reported Tuesday, confirming a Kremlin announcement. "They will have talks during this visit," the brief dispatch added.
The Kremlin said last week that the pair would meet in Russia "in the second half of April" but provided no further details. They are expected to meet in the eastern Russian port of Vladivostok, possibly on Wednesday or Thursday.
It will be the first summit between the leaders of North Korea and Russia since Kim Jong Il -- the current leader's father -- met with Dmitry Medvedev eight years ago. Russia has relatively warm ties with Pyongyang and provides some food aid, and Putin has long expressed his readiness to meet with the regime leader.

10. US to Sanction Allies Who Keep Importing Oil from Terrorist Regime in Iran - CBN News
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced Monday that the United States will not renew sanction waivers for five countries that receive oil from Iran, according to the Washington Post. "Today I am announcing that we will no longer grant any exemptions. We're going to zero, going to zero across the board," Pompeo said.
Those five countries include allies like Japan, South Korea, India, and Turkey, as well as China. The US had issued waivers to these nations, but they expire May 2. "The decision is intended to bring Iran's oil exports to zero, denying its principal source of revenue," White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said.
The move is the latest effort to increase pressure on the radical Islamic regime of Iran. Earlier this month, President Donald Trump designated Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps a foreign terror organization. "This unprecedented step, led by the Department of State, recognizes the reality that Iran is not only a State Sponsor of Terrorism, but that the IRGC actively participates in, finances, and promotes terrorism as a tool of statecraft," President Trump said in a statement.

-Father, we pray these sanctions will continue to isolate the Iranian regime and give the United States and allies the leverage needed to free the Iranian people.
-Is this not the fast which I choose, to loosen the bonds of wickedness, to undo the bands of the yoke, and to let the oppressed go free and break every yoke? (Isaiah 58:6)

Invoking Christ for advancing evil
The communist dictator "president" of Venezuela Hugo Chavez died of cancer in 2013. The UK Telegraph reported in 2013 that Chavez began his third term by raising his right hand and proclaiming, "Fatherland, socialism or death...I swear by Christ, the greatest socialist in history..." As Washington Times Columnist Robert Knight points out in his recent column "Coopting Jesus Christ for Unholy purposes, "Today's Progressives, for example, brazenly misquote the Sermon on the Mount as if it were the first draft of "The Communist Manifesto." They claim that Jesus would back open borders, forced redistribution of wealth, seizure of private property and, most of all, sexual anarchy."
All around the world governments are trying to say their way of governing combined with Christianity equals social justice. In Nicaragua, for example, the communists placed billboards all around the country with their "President" Daniel Ortega's picture on it and the caption: "cristiano, socialista, solidario". Many other countries in Central and South America are following suit. European and African nations are also seeing this type of strategy. Socialists often claim Christianity as socialism based on Acts 4:32, "And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common."
The difference here is that the early disciples of Christ in Acts voluntarily out of the love of their hearts gave one to another. In Socialism and Communism, government becomes god and distribution of personal property by the state is compulsory. Chapter II. Proletarians and Communists of the Communist Manifesto says, "But Communism abolishes eternal truths, it abolishes all religion, and all morality, instead of constituting them on a new basis; it therefore acts in contradiction to all past historical experience." The idea of invoking Jesus Christ or God in support of the socialist cause given the truth of its manifesto, is no less than mocking God.
Communists invoke God in order to manipulate Christians into believing that Jesus was a socialist and therefore it is a good deed to accept the government as an instrument of God. Knight writes further: "Democrats have been working hard to spin their version of Jesus . . . they and their media allies have been working overtime to create a Christ who would bless their leftist politics." Knight gives examples of how democrats proclaim that Christ is the center of their lives, yet disparage the faith and character of those who disagree with their brand of theology-which often includes killing of the preborn, promotion of sexual immorality, and denying the right to express Christ in the public square. Beware of these people.
Have a blessed and powerful day,

Soldiers of Christ, arise,
And put your armor on,
Strong in the strength which God supplies
Through His eternal Son.
Strong in the Lord of hosts,
And in His mighty power,
Who in the strength of Jesus trusts
Is more than conqueror.
Stand then in His great might,
With all His strength endued,
And take, to arm you for the fight,
The panoply of God;
That, having all things done,
And all your conflicts past,
Ye may o'ercome through Christ alone
And stand entire at last.
Stand then against your foes,
In close and firm array;
Legions of wily fiends oppose
Throughout the evil day;
But meet the sons of night,
And mock their vain design,
Armed in the arms of heavenly light,
Of righteousness divine.

The phrase "adamant and gold" echoes Paradise Lost by John Milton: "Satan, with vast and haughty strides advanced, Came towering, armed in adamant and gold." Wesley seems to be saying that we turn Satan's equipment against him.

About Capitol Hill Prayer Partners
Our Mission Statement
Capitol Hill Prayer Partners (CHPP) is a ministry which is positioned on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., helping members of the Body of Christ to "pray for those in authority over us" in our federal government. Our primary purpose is to offer intercession on site for the members of Congress and their staffs each day that the Senate and the House of Representatives are in session; and our chief prayer focus is that "God's will be done in earth, as it is in heaven." Because Jesus Christ has shed His blood for all, we, too, pray for ALL, in a nonpartisan manner. Also, because the scriptures indicate that "the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" (James 4:17), we are confident that fervent prayer, offered in the halls of the highest chambers of government in our land, can avail much for America. Capitol Hill Prayer Partners welcomes those who feel called to join us, engaging in this strategic work of intercession for our nation: "For there is no power but of God; the powers that be are ordained of God."
