VA Governor Upholds Infanticide

Northam on Abortion Bill:

Infant Could Be Delivered and Then 'Physicians and the Mother' Could Decide If It Lives

Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam (D.) commented Wednesday about a controversial 40-week abortion bill and in so doing said the law allows an abortion to take place after the infant's birth.

"If a mother is in labor, I can tell you exactly what would happen. The infant would be delivered. The infant would be kept comfortable. The infant would be resuscitated if that's what the mother and the family desired, and then a discussion would ensue between the physicians and the mother," Northam said, alluding to the physician and mother discussing whether the born infant should live or die.

A Democratic lawmaker in the Virginia House of Delegates proposed a bill Tuesday that would allow abortions through the end of the third trimester of pregnancy. The video of Delegate Kathy Tran presenting her bill led to an exchange where she admitted that her bill would allow for a mother to abort her child minutes before giving birth.

. . . "Do you support her measure and explain her answer?" Carey asked.

"I wasn't there, Julie. And I certainly can't speak for delegate Tran. But I would tell you one, the first think I would say, this is why decisions such as this should be made by providers, physicians, and the mothers and fathers that are involved," Northam said. "When we talk about third trimester abortions, these are done with the consent of obviously the mother, with the consent of the physicians, more than one physician by the way. And it is done in cases where there may be severe deformities, there may be a fetus that is non-viable."

Northam continued by saying government shouldn't be involved in these types of decisions and that legislators, especially male legislators, shouldn't be telling women what to do. . . .(Free Beacon) Read more.
- Father God, these horrible statements take us right back to Nazi Germany, where those citizens deemed to be "deformed" were put to death. Help us, O Lord, to regain our senses, and to value LIFE as You value life, O Lord. We ask You to forgive Governor Northam, for he is walking in darkness and does not know what he does. Save us, O Lord, from those who rule in wickedness, in Your name, Holy One, amen.

- "In wrath, remember mercy." (Habakkuk 3:2)

Gov. Northram Not Stepping Down

Northam says he is not in racist yearbook photo and won't resign, Virginia Dem says, despite widespread calls for him to go

Embattled Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam told at least one fellow Democrat Saturday that he was not in a racist 1984 yearbook photo of two men dressed in blackface and a Ku Klux Klan outfit -- despite admitting he was in the picture a day earlier -- and that he does not intend to resign, a dramatic twist in the face of mounting calls from members of his own party for him to step down

Virginia State Senator Louise Lucas' office told Fox News that Northam reached out to her to say that he is not in the photograph and that he would not be resigning. That came after the Virginia Democratic Party tweeted that it had received word that Northam would not be resigning over the photo as they believed he should.

"We stand with Democrats across Virginia and the country calling him to immediately resign," the party said in a statement. Northam is due to hold a press conference at 2:30 p.m. ET outside the governor's mansion to address the controversy.

The New York Times reported that he had spoken to multiple state Democrats, and had also been calling former classmates at Eastern Virginia Medical School to get more information about the picture. The photo, on Northam's page and showing the two men in racist garb, was first published by Big League Politics Friday.

Fox News obtained a copy of 1984 yearbook page from the Eastern Virginia Medical School library in Norfolk.

On Friday, Northam released a statement initially saying that the photo was of him -- although he did not say which man was him. He apologized in both the statement and a later video statement, calling the photo "racist and offensive," but vowed to continue in office despite the increasing pressure for him to step down.

"Earlier today, a website published a photograph of me from my 1984 medical school yearbook in a costume that is clearly racist and offensive," he said. "I am deeply sorry for the decision I made to appear as I did in this photo and for the hurt that decision caused then and now."

. . . Democrats hoping to secure their party's nod for the 2020 presidential election also called for Northam to step aside.

"These images arouse centuries of anger, anguish, and racist violence and they've eroded all confidence in Gov. Northam's ability to lead. We should expect more from our elected officials." Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J., tweeted. "He should resign."

He was joined in that call by Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., who said "there aren't two sets of rules for our friends and our foes."

"Americans deserve to be respected by their leaders, and racism cannot be excused in our government or anywhere else," she said. "Having seen the photo, I believe Governor Northam should resign."

"Leaders are called to a higher standard, and the stain of racism should have no place in the halls of government," Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., tweeted. "The Governor of Virginia should step aside so the public can heal and move forward together."

Former Vice President Joe Biden, who is considering a 2020 run, said Northam had "lost all moral authority" and called on him to resign. (Fox News) Read more

- Father God, in the case of Governor Northam, Your vengeance was swift and true. We thank You that, within the short space of time of only 24 hours, this evil episode in the life of the Governor of the State of Virginia was revealed, and that justice will now follow.

Father, we ask that the news of the fate of Governor Northam would so resonate in the hearts of Your people that we would all get this "wake up call" that You are looking down upon us from Your Throne Room in heaven, and that we each must search our souls and repent quickly, lest judgment fall upon us, too. We ask this in Your name, Holy One, amen and amen.

- "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord." (Acts 3:19)

Alert! 7 States - Abortion Bills

7 states already allow abortion up to birth

- not just New York

New York isn't the only state that allows abortion up to birth.

Before New York lawmakers voted last Tuesday to remove gestational limits on abortion, seven states and Washington, D.C. already had laws allowing third-trimester abortions.

Similarly, all states that have laws banning late-term abortion still allow exceptions under certain circumstances, as noted by the Guttmacher Institute, an organization that advocates for abortion rights worldwide. Such exemptions include "babies with physical anomalies, and the health of the mother, which can include 'mental health,'" according to the pro-life group Operation Rescue.

The seven (now eight) states that have no gestational limits on abortion are: Alaska, Colorado, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, and Vermont, along with Washington, D.C.
Despite abortion up to the time of birth being legal in several states and the nation's capital, there are only five clinics nationwide that perform late-term abortions. Two are in states that allow abortion up to birth and three are in states that prohibit late-term abortion but allow exemptions (California, Maryland and Ohio).

Among the states that have no abortion limits, so far only Colorado and New Mexico have clinics that will perform abortions up to 32 weeks and later on a "case by case basis." Those clinics are the Warren Hern's Boulder Abortion Clinic in Boulder, Colorado, and Curtis Boyd's Southwestern Women's Options in Albuquerque, New Mexico, which The Christian Post has reported on in the past.

Other clinics in states with unrestrictive abortion limits have set their own caps. A clinic in New Jersey performs abortions up to 25 weeks, Oregon at 24 weeks, New Hampshire up to 17 weeks, and Alaska and Vermont up to 16 weeks, Operation Rescue has found.

At least one clinic in Washington, D.C., offers abortions up to 27 weeks.

In New York, which has 87 abortion clinics according to Operation Rescue's 2018 clinic survey, 60 only perform abortions up to 14 weeks gestation. "There were 17 clinics that limited abortions to 23 weeks or under. Ten clinics were willing to abort through 24 weeks, or the end of the sixth month of pregnancy," the organization noted.
The abortion bill signed into law by New York's Democrat Gov. Andrew Cuomo last week not only allows abortion at any time to protect the "patient's health," but it also says, "An abortion may be performed by a licensed, certified, or authorized practitioner within 24 weeks from the commencement of pregnancy." This allows health care practitioners who are not doctors to perform abortions.

In response, Operation Rescue President Troy Newman likened the law to having "a phlebotomist take out your gall bladder." "There is no way a nonphysician would be qualified to conduct a third trimester abortion," Newman said. "Third trimester abortions require specific training, and even then, they are far from safe. If unqualified nonphysicians try to do third trimester abortions, there is no doubt that even more women will die."

There are fewer than 10 abortionists in the United States who will perform late-term abortions, which take three to four days to complete, due to liabilities and risks to the mother's life, says Operation Rescue. Three men who performed late-term abortions are now either in prison (Kermit Gosnell) or have had their medical licenses revoked (James Pendergraft and Steven Brigham).
Lawmakers in Rhode Island have also introduced two bills in the state Legislature to make abortion legal up to birth, CP reported last week. The state's Democrat Gov. Gina Raimondo has already said that, if passed, she'd sign the "Reproductive Health Care Act" into law.

In Virginia, Democrat delegate Kathy Tran has introduced a bill in the House of Delegates that would legalize abortion up to birth, "even at the very end of pregnancy when a woman was going into labor," National Review reported Tuesday.

While the number of independently operated clinics that perform second- and third-trimester abortions has declined, Planned Parenthood has been increasing its number of clinics that offer abortions at 20 weeks and later. Two years ago, 18 Planned Parenthood clinics performed late-term abortions; now that number is at 37, according to Operation Rescue's 2018 Abortion Clinic Survey of abortion clinics nationwide conducted from Nov. 26 through Dec. 14, 2018.

Planned Parenthood's new president, Dr. Leana Wen, has said numerous times that she believes abortion is a "basic human right" and she's going to "fight for that every day."

Last year, abortions performed at Planned Parenthood clinics nationwide increased to 332,757 - an increase of 11,373 abortions over the previous year's report.

As the number of abortions performed at Planned Parenthood clinics increased, their adoption referrals "decreased by 1,000 last year" to around 2,800, "which means that Planned Parenthood clinics performed 118 abortions for every one adoption referral," The National Review noted.

Although Wen has touted Planned Parenthood as a major provider of women's health care, in 2016 CP reported that its clinics were turning away pregnant women who wanted to carry their baby to term. Employees at several clinics told CP that the only service some clinics might provide to pregnant women is to dispense a packet of prenatal vitamins, but nothing else.

In an investigative report released in 2017, the pro-life group Live Action found that among 97 Planned Parenthood clinics it called nationwide, 92 said they didn't provide services to pregnant women unless they wanted an abortion. Five clinics, however, said they do provide prenatal services to pregnant women.

- Father, we know what the enemy intends for evil, You turnaround for good. We pray this brazen support for late-term abortion will spur judicial review by the Supreme Court and the overturning of Roe v. Wade. Lead and guide us to pray for the unborn, their mothers, and especially those surrounding the mother who may be pressuring her to have an abortion against her will. We pray You deliver both mother and child from the hands of bloodthirsty men.

- Deliver me from the workers of iniquity, and save me from bloodthirsty men.

This just in: Good news in Idaho!

Idaho Lawmakers Draft Bill That Would Outlaw Abortion, Classify as Murder

BOISE, Idaho - Two state representatives in Idaho have drafted a bill that would remove an exemption for abortion from existing homicide statutes, and would consequently classify abortion as an act of murder.

"Idaho code defines a fetus as a human and says killing a human is murder. Abortion is in contradiction to the inalienable rights recognized in the Idaho Constitution, and the State of Idaho has the authority to nullify federal laws that would allow abortions," reads the Idaho Abortion Human Rights Act.

"I made no secret about the fact, when I was running, that I was absolutely committed to ending the murder of preborn Idahoans," stated Rep. John Green, R-Post Falls, in a video that was posted to social media last week.

Green is co-sponsoring the Act with Rep. Heather Scott, R-Blanchard, as they believe that the State needs to enforce its existing protections for the unborn and remove exemptions from homicide law for those who seek out or perform abortions.

"Abortion is murder under Idaho code and we need to start prosecuting it as murder," Green stated.

Scott outlined in a video posted to Facebook on Jan. 24 that Title 18-4001 of the Idaho code defines murder as the "the unlawful killing of a human being, including, but not limited to, a human embryo or fetus." Code 32-102 also states that "a child conceived, but not yet born, is deemed to be an existing person."
As a man in Scott's district who murdered a pregnant woman was charged with two counts of homicide-one for the mother and the second for the unborn baby, she asked herself why others are able to get away with killing the unborn since under Idaho law, those not yet born are considered human. She found that the law grants an exemption for abortion.
"Nothing in this chapter, arising from the killing of an embryo or fetus, shall be construed to permit the prosecution of any person for conduct relating to an abortion for which the consent of the pregnant woman, or a person authorized by law to act on her behalf, has been obtained [or] of any woman with respect to her embryo or fetus," Chapter 40 of Idaho's homicide statutes reads in part.

Scott and Green wish to remove this exemption.

Scott noted that some might assert that the state is bound to the 1973 Supreme Court ruling of Roe v. Wade. To refute this point, she pointed to language in the state Federal Firearm, Magazine and Register Ban Enforcement Act, which directs officials to ignore any federal laws that are contrary to language in the Idaho Constitution as they pertain to firearms. - Father God, we know that there are other states in our nation that, like Idaho, stand for LIFE. We bless the work of their hands for success. We also call forth at least TWO STATES for every one state that is now ruling against life. In Your Name, amen.

- "You will also declare a thing,
And it will be established for you;
So light will shine on your ways."

This bill would make permanent the VA's childcare pilot program and expand it so that veterans across the Nation who are parents or grandparents have a convenient, cost-free option for childcare when they have VA medical appointments.
...
Removing "so help me God"?
Madam Speaker, as we wrap this up, I would ask about an issue that a number of our Members were concerned about and hope this is not a trend. In the House Natural Resources Committee, the majority, yesterday, as they were proposing their new rules for the committee--and each committee, as we know, proposes their new rules as a new Congress is sworn in and established on a committee level--in the oath that is administered to men and women who come before the committee to testify, the original proposal suggested removing “so help you God” from the oath. One of the Members on our side noticed that omission and put an amendment in place to restore “so help you God” in the oath. Fortunately, that was added back in.
I would ask the gentleman, is this going to be a trend? Is there going to be some kind of general movement by committees to try to remove “so help you God” from the oaths that are administered to witnesses?
Mr. HOYER. Madam Speaker, not as far as I know.
Mr. SCALISE. Madam Speaker, hopefully, it is not a trend that we see.

TWO WAYS TO TAKE ACTION FOR LIFE!

TWO WAYS TO TAKE ACTION FOR LIFE!

1. Support the Moral Outcry

2. Next month: Go see THIS MOVIE: "Unplanned"

1. Support the Moral Outcry -- in Response to the Recently Passed Bill in New York State (Baby's life can be taken to end of term)

TO THE MORAL OUTCRY SIGNERS, SUPPORTERS AND ENDORSERS:

NEW YORK, NEW YORK - O, How the Mighty Have Fallen!

We Must Do Something!
With the outrageous acts of New York, Virginia and others promoting the death of infant life, in the womb, and even after birth, people are crying out to DO SOMETHING!

Please give the people you know something positive, impactful, and significant to do. Every signature on The Moral Outcry Petition actually creates evidence under "The Law of Judicial Precedent" for reversing a Supreme Court Precedent. . .

2. Next month: Go see THIS MOVIE: "Unplanned"

A pro-life movie that's partially financed by MyPillow CEO Michael Lindell is set to be distributed nationwide next month, and it couldn't have been announced at a better time. The dramatic trailer for the pro-life feature film "Unplanned" was released on Thursday.

In the film, Ashley Bratcher plays Planned Parenthood clinic director Abby Johnson, who renounces abortion after witnessing the procedure firsthand.

"Everything that they told us is a lie," Johnson says in the emotional trailer.

Johnson is also warned that she made an enemy of "one of the most powerful organizations on the planet."

The film is set to be released on over 800 screens nationwide, beginning on March 29. (Conservative Tribune) Read more.

Operation Restoration

Operation Restoration

Once each week, on Sunday mornings and for 24 hours, join with others in OPERATION RESTORATION . . .

"Operation Restoration"

This initiative is based upon the Move of the Spirit that was launched last month during Operation Refiner's Fire. The LORD has shown us that He has used those fires to ignite the FIRE of the HOLY SPIRIT to visit our people, which He now yearns to keep burning among our people until the day of His return!

"Operation Restoration" is based on the promise of Scripture, recorded in
2 Chronicles 7:14,15.

It is written:

. . . "and if My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

"Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to the prayer offered in this place."

This is a weekly Solemn Assembly, where saints can feel free to gather each Sunday, to offer prayers of repentance before our Lord, for the many sins our nation has committed before Him.

Abba so desires to hear our prayers . . . He is just waiting to heal us!

You can join us, any Sunday, beginning at 9:00 a.m. EST by calling:
605-468-8850
Access Code: 221654#
Each week, our conference line for Operation Restoration will remain open until Monday morning at 9:00 a.m.EST -- allowing for 24 hours of nonstop prayer before our King of Kings, that He might, indeed, "heal our land." Amen.

Weekly Prayer Focus:

For the week of February 2 - 8, 2019

[Editor's comment: please forgive this "all caps" bulletin. Thank you.]

ABOUT THREE WEEKS FROM NOW, ON FEBRUARY 24TH, THE ACADEMY AWARDS WILL BE ANNOUNCED IN HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA TO HONOR EXCELLENCE IN THE MOTION PICTURE INDUSTRY. EVERY YEAR AT THIS TIME THE REST OF THE MEDIA FOCUSES MUCH ATTENTION ON THESE AWARDS, REMINDING US OF THE POWER OF HOLLYWOOD TO SHAPE CULTURAL VALUES WORLDWIDE. IN RECENT YEARS SOME CHURCHES HAVE BEGUN USING "ACADEMY AWARD SUNDAY" AS A REMINDER TO PRAY FOR THE ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY, USING THE MEDIA LEADER DAILY PRAYER CALENDAR FROM MASTERMEDIA MINISTRIES. ON FEBRUARY 8TH DR. TED BAEHR AND HIS FAMLY WILL HOST THE 27TH ANNUAL MOVIEGUIDE AWARDS GALA IN HOLLYWOOD AS A PRO-FAMILY, PRO-CHRISTIAN ALTERNATIVE TO THE ACADEMY AWARDS. TO COINCIDE WITH THE MOVIEGUIDE GALA THE NATIONAL PRAYER EMBASSY WILL HOLD A SPECIAL HOLLYWOOD PRAYER TOUR ON FEBRUARY 10TH. LET'S PRAY:

"FATHER GOD, IN THE NAME OF JESUS, WE THANK YOU FOR PROTECTING, PERFECTING AND PROMOTING GODLY VALUES THROUGH THIS YEAR'S MOVIEGUIDE AWARDS AND ACADEMY AWARDS. ACCORDING TO PROVERBS 21 VERSE ONE WE PRAY FOR THOSE IN AUTHORITY OVER ALL AREAS OF OUR MEDIA, ESPECIALLY OVER HOLLYWOOD'S MAJOR FEATURE FILMS. WE THANK YOU THAT BY FAITH THEIR HEARTS ARE IN YOUR HANDS, AND YOU ARE GIVING THEM YOUR WISDOM AND CAUSING THEM TO MAKE GOOD DECISIONS THAT WILL PROMOTE GODLY VALUES AMONG ALL OUR CITIZENS, ESPECIALLY OUR YOUTH. IN THE NAME OF JESUS, WE AGREE THAT THEY HAVE NO DESIRE TO PROMOTE SIN OR REBELLION OR PERVERSION OF ANY KIND, BUT INSTEAD THEY WANT TO USE ALL THE POWER OF THE MEDIA TO PROMOTE GODLY VALUES, AND HELP COMPLETE THE GREAT COMMISSION AND ADVANCE THE KINGDOM OF GOD. WE AGREE WITH YOUR WORD THAT THE KINGDOMS OF THE MEDIA IN THIS WORLD BECOME THE KINGDOMS OF OUR LORD AND OF HIS CHRIST, IN JESUS' NAME, AMEN!"
