"Advent: Week One" -- HOPE

The Funeral of President George W. Bush

George HW Bush met the Good Lord with courage and joy,
George W Bush says

George W. Bush gave a eulogy at his father George H.W. Bush's funeral at the Washington National Cathedral on Wednesday, speaking about the "dignity, humor, and kindness" he showed his friends and family.

Last Friday, George H.W. Bush passed away at age 94, dying months after his wife, Barbara. He served as the 41st president of the United States and oversaw the end of the Cold War and Operation Desert Storm.

At the funeral service, Bush described his father's life as being "instructive," showing his children "how to grow with dignity, humor, and kindness, and when the Good Lord finally called, how to meet Him with courage and with the joy of the promise of what lies ahead."

"He was an empathetic man, he valued character over pedigree, and he was no cynic. He looked for the good in each person and he usually found it," said Bush.

"Dad taught us that public service was noble and necessary. That one can serve with integrity and hold true to the important values like faith and family."

Bush said his father had a "quiet faith" and "he was sustained by the love of the Almighty" during times of trial, including the death of his three-year-old daughter Robin in 1953.

Bush recalled talking with his father over the phone minutes before his death, telling him "I love you and have been a wonderful father," to which his father replied "I love you, too."

Near the end of his remarks, Bush choked up briefly when describing his father as "the best father a son or daughter could have," before regaining his composure to continue speaking.

And in our grief, I just smile knowing that dad is hugging Robin and holding mom's hand again," he concluded.

Bush gave one of four eulogies at the service. The other three were given by former Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney; former U.S. Senator Alan Simpson of Wyoming, and historian Jon Meacham, who wrote a biography of the late president.

. . . President Donald Trump and his wife Melania were in attendance, as well as Bill and Hillary Clinton, Barack and Michelle Obama, and Jimmy and Rose Carter. Also, former vice presidents Al Gore and Dick Cheney were in attendance. (Christian Post) Read more

1. Hamas and Fatah Fear an Unprecedented Move at UN - Jerusalem Online

The Palestinian Authority and Hamas are working together to sabotage a draft resolution drawn up by the United States, condemning the firing of rockets from the Gaza Strip into Israel.

Hamas fears that if the resolution passes, this will give Israel a "green light" to assassinate the leaders of the movement and invade Gaza in order to remove its rockets and tunnels.

Although reconciliation talks between Hamas and Fatah in Cairo have failed, and in spite of continuing sanctions imposed by Mahmoud Abbas on the Gaza Strip, and notwithstanding the vast differences of opinion between the two organizations over the past 10 years, the Palestinian Authority and Hamas have joined forces to torpedo a U.S. draft resolution [text below] on which the UN General Assembly is expected to vote on Thursday, December 6, 2018.

2. Russia offers reserved support for Israel's anti-tunnel operation - Jerusalem Post

Moscow expressed reserved support on Wednesday for Israel's efforts to neutralize terror tunnels from Lebanon, but said it hoped these efforts will not conflict with UN Security Council Resolution 1701.

That resolution from 2006 put an end to the Second Lebanon War and called for the Blue Line, the border between Israel and Lebanon, to be respected.

The Russian embassy posted a tweet saying that there is "no doubt that Israel has the right to protect its national security, including to prevent the illegal entry of anyone into the country."

At the same time, the tweet continued, "we hope that the actions taken for this purpose will not conflict with UNSC Resolution 1701."

3. Netanyahu: Lebanon Must Be Sanctioned - Jerusalem Online

In a televised address held at the Defense Ministry in Tel Aviv, PM Benjamin Netanyahu said he backs the military's operation to destroy underground cross-border tunnels which he said were dug by Iran-backed Hezbollah militants from Lebanon.

He said that he discussed with the US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo the issue of imposing new sanctions against Hezbollah.

Netanyahu added he was also going to hold talks on Hezbollah with other world leaders and the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres in the next few days.

4. Bennett slams Netanyahu over report mentioning his wife - Israel National News

Chairman of the Jewish Home Minister Naftali Bennett responded to the report on Hadashot 2 News that Netanyahu had sought to slander his wife Gilat Bennett through the Walla website.

Amit Segal published on Hadashot 2 the version of businessman Shaul Elovitch, suspected of bribing Netanyahu, within the context of "Case 4000."

His version includes stories behind the scenes about his connection with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, the reasons for the dictates on his Walla website and the police's proposals to become a state witness.

Sources close to the businessman said that Netanyahu also had unusual requests over the years. "Elovitch helped Bibi only when he thought he was right," they said. "For example, one day Netanyahu asked him to publish an article that Gilat, Naftali Bennett's wife, was a chef in non-kosher restaurants. They did not agree to publish such a thing."

5. 'Police want me to lie about Netanyahu' - Israel National News

Associates of businessman Shaul Elovitch, who was recommended by the police to be indicted in case 4000, revealed his version of the affair on News 2.

According to a report by journalist Amit Segal, the sources said that the prime minister asked the businessman to make corrections to news articles on the Walla site which he did not like.

According to his associates, Netanyahu also had unusual requests. "Elovitch helped Bibi only when he thought he was right." For example, one day, they say, Netanyahu asked him to publish an article that the wife of the chairman of the Jewish Home party, Gilat Bennett, had been a chef in restaurants that were not kosher.

According to close associates, the relationship between Netanyahu and Elovitch began almost by chance. "The relationship between Elovitch and Netanyahu began 20 years ago, when Shaul donated a computer to each child, but gradually the connection weakened, and Sarah and Bibi said, 'Maybe you will jump once.' Netanyahu asked Shaul: "Do you hate me?" Shaul said, "G-d forbid." Bibi asked, 'Are you a leftist?' Shaul said no, so Netanyahu said, "So why does Walla hate me? You're much worse than Ynet," the associates said.

1. George W. Bush fights back tears as he says goodbye to his father: 'The best father a son or daughter could have' - Washington Examiner

Former President George W. Bush teared up Wednesday while finishing the eulogy for his late father, former President George H.W. Bush, as he said his parents are now together again with their daughter Robin who died of leukemia at age 3.

"Well, dad, we're going to remember you for exactly that and much more, and we're going to miss you. Your decency, sincerity and kind soul will stay with us forever," Bush said as he closed the eulogy at the Washington National Cathedral. "So through our tears, let us know the blessings of knowing and loving you, a great and noble man," he said. "The best father a son or daughter could have. And in our grief, let us smile knowing that dad is hugging Robin and holding Mom's hand."

The former president gave a touching and characteristically humorous eulogy for his father, painting the picture of a president, patriot, and loving father whose legacy will live on in the annals of American history. President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump were present for the funeral ceremony. Former presidents Barack Obama, Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter, along with their spouses, also attended the funeral.

2. For Trump, Cohen Plea Deal's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Exoneration - RealClearInvestigations

Contrary to media speculation that Robert Mueller is closing in on President Trump, the special prosecutor's plea deal with Trump's personal lawyer Michael Cohen offers further evidence that the Trump campaign did not collude with Russians during the 2016 election, according to congressional investigators and former prosecutors.

On page 7 of the statement of criminal information filed against Cohen, Mueller mentions that Cohen tried to email Russian President Vladimir Putin's office on Jan. 14, 2016, and again on Jan. 16, 2016. But Mueller, who personally signed the document, omitted the fact that Cohen did not have any direct points of contact at the Kremlin, and had resorted to sending the emails to a general press mailbox. Sources who have seen these additional emails point out that this omitted information undercuts the idea of a "back channel" and thus the special counsel's collusion case.

Page 2 of the same criminal information document holds additional exculpatory evidence for Trump, sources say. It quotes an August 2017 letter from Cohen to the Senate intelligence committee in which he states that Trump "was never in contact with anyone about this [Moscow Project] proposal other than me." This section of Cohen's written testimony, unlike other parts, is not disputed as false by Mueller, which sources say means prosecutors have tested its veracity through corroborating sources and found it to be accurate.

Former federal prosecutors said Mueller's filing does not remotely incriminate the president in purported Russia collusion. It doesn't even imply he directed Cohen to lie to Congress. "It doesn't implicate President Trump in any way," said former independent counsel Solomon L. Wisenberg, now with Nelson Mullins LLP in Washington. "The reality is, this is a nothing-burger." 3. Byron York: From fishy beginning, Mueller case against Michael Flynn nears end with no jail recommendation - Washington Examiner

Michael Flynn has been waiting for more than a year to be sentenced. The retired three-star Army general, who spent 24 days as the Trump White House national security adviser, pleaded guilty on Dec. 1, 2017, to lying to the FBI in the Trump-Russia investigation. He agreed to cooperate with special counsel Robert Mueller.

Flynn's sentencing, which has been delayed a number of times for reasons that have never been disclosed, is scheduled to finally take place on Dec. 18. Late Tuesday, Mueller filed what is called a sentencing report. Citing Flynn's "substantial assistance" to the investigation, Mueller recommended "a sentence at the low end of the guideline range - including a sentence that does not impose a period of incarceration."

Hill Republicans have been suspicious about the the Flynn case for quite a while. But they have not been able to get their hands on some key documents and testimony that might tell them what happened. Congress has long ago pressed the Justice Department to hand over the 302s and other documents. So far, the answer has been no. But soon the Flynn case will be entirely over. Perhaps then the public will finally learn what really went on in United States of America v . Michael T. Flynn. (Read more)

- Father, we pray Michael Flynn's cooperation does not extend to false testimony. He has always been an honorable man, and we pray he and his family will be fully restored.

- The ruthless will vanish, the mockers will disappear, and all who have an eye for evil will be cut down - those who with a word make someone out to be guilty, who ensnare the defender in court and with false testimony deprive the innocent of justice. (Isaiah 29:20-21)

4. Roger Stone pleads Fifth, won't give testimony or documents to Senate Judiciary Committee - Washington Times

Longtime GOP political operative Roger Stone is resisting Senate Democrats' request for documents and testimony, citing his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination, his attorney said in a letter released Tuesday. Mr. Stone's attorney, Grant Smith, said in a letter to ranking Senate Judiciary member Dianne Feinstein, California Democrat, said his client will decline lawmakers' request.

"Mr. Stone's invocation of his Fifth Amendment privilege must be understood by all to be the assertion of a Constitutional right by an innocent citizen," Mr. Smith wrote. "Mr. Stone decries secrecy. He will not subject himself to the innuendo of non-public proceedings. Nor will he confirm the existence of, produce the documents of the request for the purpose of being used in secret proceedings," Mr. Smith wrote. The letter also called the document request as "unreasonably broad" and a "fishing expedition."

Special counsel Robert Mueller, who is investigating alleged ties between Russia and the Trump campaign, has turned his attention toward Mr. Stone in recent weeks. Mr. Mueller is said to be probing whether Mr. Stone and WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange coordinated the release of emails stolen from the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee by Russian hackers. 5. Comey slated to testify on Capitol Hill on Friday - Politico

Former FBI Director James Comey will testify privately on Capitol Hill on Friday, after the resolution of a legal dispute over a Republican-initiated subpoena to compel him to appear, according to Comey's attorney David Kelley and a House Judiciary Committee aide.

Comey took his fight to federal court, where his attorneys argued that the Republican lawmakers running the investigation had overstepped their lawful authority and that a subpoena forcing the former FBI director to testify should be overturned. Lawyers for the House argued that Comey's complaints were nonsensical and that Congress has broad latitude to compel witness testimony, even if the witnesses disagree with the conduct of those doing the investigation.

The Friday interview comes less than a month before Republicans relinquish control of the House to Democrats. A transcript of the interview is expected to be released on Saturday after a stenographer has time to complete it. (Read more)

- Father, we pray Congressional investigators will ask the right questions and get the answers they need from former FBI Director Comey.

- You have trusted in your wickedness and have said, 'No one sees me.' Your wisdom and knowledge mislead you when you say to yourself,'I am, and there is none besides me.' (Isaiah 47:10)

6. Congress will vote to postpone government shutdown fight until Christmas - WACH

Congress will vote this week to give themselves until Dec. 21 to reach a spending deal and prevent the threat of a government shutdown over funding for the U.S.-Mexico border wall. Congress was heading for a possible shutdown Friday until House and Senate leaders agreed to give themselves a two-week extension to avoid a messy partisan fight immediately after the death of former President George H.W. Bush. The extension, or continuing resolution, only delays the inevitable and sets up a government shutdown fight the Friday before Christmas.

Congress has already funded about 70 percent of the government through the fiscal year but they still have to find the money for nine Cabinet departments and dozens of smaller agencies. Democrats and Republicans in both the House and Senate say they have reached an agreement on almost everything required to keep the federal government's lights on, with the exception of funding the border wall.

President Trump has requested $5 billion for the wall and threatened to shut down the government if Congress comes up short. Lawmakers could conceivably reach an agreement on border security issues before the Dec. 21 deadline, Chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee, Richard Shelby, R-Ala., told Sinclair Broadcast Group. "We could do it in two or three days, not a week, not two weeks. But right now we're at an impasse over the funding of the wall," he said. (Read more)

- Father, we thank You for this good news. We pray members of Congress will be in a cheerful, bipartisan mood and get these budget items passed, including funding for the border wall.

- All the days of the oppressed are wretched, but the cheerful heart has a continual feast. (Proverbs 15:15)

7. 'Stunning': 80% using Obamacare's Medicaid expansion are ineligible, Louisiana report finds - Washington Times

Louisiana's legislative auditor, Daryl G. Purpera, issued his findings last month - the losses to ineligible beneficiaries could be as high as $85 million. "This is huge. It really is," he told The Washington Times. "As more and more state auditors realize what this is doing to them, it's going to come to a point where all 50 of them are going to have to declare they can no longer say the state's books are accurate. I really do believe that day is coming."

"The report is stunning. It is breathtaking. There are not words in English to describe what our legislative auditor found," said Sen. John Kennedy, Louisiana Republican. Mr. Kennedy has proposed legislation to require every state Medicaid, welfare and food stamp program to use federal income data to verify eligibility. "It's the most accurate income data we have out there. It would be a requirement. Right now, it's optional," the senator said. Any tool that can help officials close loopholes should be used, analysts said. Medicaid spending has topped a half-trillion dollars annually, and using the federal government's own admission that up to 10 percent of all Medicaid spending is improper, that would fix the amount in question at $50 billion.

"Every dollar that's stolen from the Medicaid system is a dollar that cannot go to help the truly needy," said Nicholas Horton, director of research at the Foundation for Government Accountability. "So states should absolutely be focusing on closing gaps, and there is certainly more states can and should do to protect their welfare programs and ensure that resources are preserved for folks who are truly needy." (Read more)

- Father, this rampant fraud in Medicaid was predicted when Obamacare passed. We pray You will continue to expose the malfeasance of those who pushed this program onto the states and we pray the eligibility for all entitlement programs will be verified on a regular basis.

- You shall not steal. (Exodus 20:15)

8. Christians in Middle East at risk of 'imminent extinction,' warns Anglican head - Christian Post

Christians in the Middle East are at risk of "imminent extinction" due to the continued "threat of violence, murder, intimidation, prejudice and poverty," the archbishop of Canterbury has warned. In a recent op-ed for the Sunday Telegraph, Justin Welby described the "daily threat of murder" Christians are experiencing in the Middle East, calling it "the worst situation since the Mongol invasions of the 13th Century."

"We must support and help them in every way we can," he underscored. "Where they wish to leave, they will be refugees in need of asylum. Where, courageously and by the grace of God, they choose to remain, they need publicity and external, visible support." Last week, the U.S. Congress passed a bill that would "provide emergency relief to victims of genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes in Iraq and Syria" and "provide accountability for perpetrators of these crimes." - All your commands are trustworthy; help me, for I am being persecuted without cause. (Psalm 119:86)

9. Trump: China Has Agreed to Criminalize 'Sale of Deadly Fentanyl' Coming into the U.S. - CNS News

"One of the very exciting things" to come out of President Donald Trump's meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, is the Chinese president's "promise" to "criminalize the sale of deadly Fentanyl coming into the United States," Trump tweeted Wednesday.

"This could be a game changer on what is considered to be the worst and most dangerous, addictive and deadly substance of them all. Last year over 77,000 people died from Fentanyl. If China cracks down on this "horror drug," using the Death Penalty for distributors and pushers, the results will be incredible!" Trump added.

"Pharmaceutical fentanyl was developed for pain management treatment of cancer patients, applied in a patch on the skin. Because of its powerful opioid properties, Fentanyl is also diverted for abuse," the DEA stated on its website. "Many users believe that they are purchasing heroin and actually don't know that they are purchasing fentanyl - which often results in overdose deaths. Clandestinely-produced fentanyl is primarily manufactured in Mexico," according to the DEA. (Read more)

- Father, we pray China will follow through with this agreement to stop the flow of fentanyl into our nation, and we pray for our people to be delivered from the bondage of addiction.

- Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits- who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion (Psalm 103:2-4)

10. NATO unifies against Russia's INF missile treaty breach - Washington Examiner

In another necessary repudiation of Russian President Vladimir Putin's escalating aggression, a unified NATO on Tuesday called out Russia's breach of the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty. While it has long been clear that Russia is in breach of that treaty, the collective agreement of NATO members to that effect is significant. It signals that which NATO exists to signal: an alignment of common resolution in face of a shared threat.

This statement also serves another purpose: Undercutting Russia's diplomatic narrative that it is America, not Russia, which is the problem. NATO's message was unequivocal: "Allies have concluded that Russia has developed and fielded a missile system [the 9M729] which violates the INF Treaty and poses significant risks to Euro-Atlantic security. We strongly support the finding of the United States that Russia is in material breach of its obligations under the INF Treaty."

The 29 allies also took pains to note that Russia's INF breach is not treated in a vacuum. "This is part of Russia's broader pattern of behavior," NATO noted, "that is intended to weaken the overall Euro-Atlantic security architecture." The alliance is correct. The alliance statement also preemptively pushed back against Putin's inevitable angry response, warning that "NATO will continue to ensure the credibility and effectiveness of the Alliance's overall deterrence and defense posture." It was the right move. (Read more)

- Lord God, we pray the policies of the United States and of the other nations will keep the peace and not lead us into war.

- Blessed is the one you discipline, Lord, the one you teach from your law; you grant them relief from days of trouble, till a pit is dug for the wicked. (Psalm 94:12-13)

When science takes a "u" turn

Ever notice how the more science and history tries to disprove the Biblical accounts, the more they are confirmed? Archeological findings repeatedly confirm the historic accounts written in the Bible. Scientists long have tried to disprove the Bible with their postulations that somehow arrive at "factual" conclusions. Global warming is questionable because it is now documented that scientists cooked the data that man's affect on the climate is causing the polar ice caps to melt, leading to a worldwide flood. Yet the Bible is very clear in God's Genesis 9:11 covenant that "neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood." Now there is new evidence suggesting that man didn't come from apes after all.

Researchers Mark Stoeckle of Rockefeller University in New York and David Thaler of the University of Basel in Switzerland studied the genetic codes of five million animals from 100,000 species. The results, published in "Human Evolution," suggest that humans and animals came from a single pair of adults after a catastrophic event that nearly ended the human race. The study concluded that 90% of all animal species come from parents that began giving birth at about the same time less than 200,000 years ago. The study in reality calls into question the current theory (taught as fact) of evolution, but the researchers and the media deny any relationship to the Biblical historical account.

The UK Daily Mail and the researchers themselves deny any connection to the Bible's creation account. The Daily Mail wrote: "The study has been misunderstood by some religious parties who thought it meant that we all came into being in some seminal Big Bang-typed event 100,000 ago... What Stoeckle and Thaler's findings point to is that our species has to revamp far more often than we thought, and we do so in unison with all animals." Stoeckle and Thaler made the following statement: "Our study is grounded in and strongly supports Darwinian evolution, including the understanding all life has evolved from a common biological origin over several billion years. Our study follows mainstream views of human evolution. We do not propose there was a single 'Adam' or 'Eve'. We do not propose any catastrophic events."

The study, however, concludes: "The simple hypothesis is that the same explanation offered for the sequence variation found among modern humans applies equally to the modern populations of essentially all other animal species. Namely that the extant population, no matter what its current size or similarity to fossils of any age, has expanded from mitochondrial uniformity within the past 200,000 years." In lay terms, this could mean that at some point within the last 200,000 years, modern populations of all animal species and humans originated from a male and female pair, or as Genesis 6:19 says, "And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shall you bring into the ark, to keep them alive with you; they shall be male and female." Strange how "scientists" want to stick with their humanist theories, even when science takes a U-turn.

Have a blessed and powerful day,

PRAISE, MY SOUL, THE KING OF HEAVEN

"Then Micaiah said, "Therefore hear the word of the Lord: I saw the Lord sitting on his throne, with all the host of heaven standing beside him to the right and to the left of him." (I Kings 22:19)

Lyrics

1 Praise, my soul, the King of heaven;
to his feet your tribute bring.
Ransomed, healed, restored, forgiven,
evermore his praises sing.
Alleluia, alleluia!
Praise the everlasting King!

2 Praise him for his grace and favor
to his people in distress.
Praise him, still the same as ever,
slow to chide, and swift to bless.
Alleluia, alleluia!
Glorious in his faithfulness!

3 Fatherlike he tends and spares us;
well our feeble frame he knows.
In his hand he gently bears us,
rescues us from all our foes.
Alleluia, alleluia!
Widely yet his mercy flows!

4 Angels, help us to adore him;
you behold him face to face.
Sun and moon, bow down before him,
dwellers all in time and space.
Alleluia, alleluia!
Praise with us the God of grace!

Signs and Wonders

A COMET AS BIG AS THE FULL MOON

On Dec. 16th, Comet 46P/Wirtanen will approach Earth less than 11.5 million km away-making it one of the 10 closest-approaching comets of the Space Age. It's a small comet, with a nucleus barely 1 km wide, but such proximity makes even a small things appear large. The comet's gaseous atmosphere is now as wide as a full Moon.

"The comet still has a couple of weeks before closest approach and it is already as big as a full Moon," says Broussard, who could see the comet with his naked eye--"just barely using averted vision and only when it was in the darkest section of the sky," he adds.

Despite its close approach, 46P/Wirtanen will never become a Great Comet like Comet Hayakutake in 1996 or Comet Hale-Bopp in 1997. Wirtanen's relatively small core of dirty ice cannot produce enough gas and dust to create a really bright, flamboyant tail. The best case scenario is probably a big diffuse cloud of magnitude +3 or +4, barely visible to the unaided eye but an easy target for binoculars and small wide-field telescopes.

Last night in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, photographer Chris Cook didn't even need a telescope to capture Wirtanen's green glow. He took this picture using a Canon 6D digital camera with a 35 mm lens:

It's a small comet, with a nucleus barely 1 km wide, but such proximity makes even a small things appear large. The comet's gaseous atmosphere is now as wide as a full Moon. Mike Broussard of Perry, Louisiana, photographed the comet on Dec. 2nd and inserted the Moon for scale: "The comet still has a couple of weeks before closest approach and it is already as big as a full Moon," says Broussard, who could see the comet with his naked eye--"just barely using averted vision and only when it was in the darkest section of the sky," he adds. "It reminds me of Comet Hayakutake's massive coma but not nearly as bright."
Celebrated astrophotographer Juan Carlos Casado, who last night took his own HDR image of the comet above a church tower in Spain, offers some advice to novices: "Use Raw file format, a fast lens (at least f/2.8) and ISO settings between 1600 and 3200. The exposure will depend on the focal length. I normally use the 500 rule--that is, exposure = 500 / focal (mm) with a tripod. It also helps in areas with light pollution to use an antipollution filter. I am now using Optolong L-Pro clip filter which gives excellent color balance.

The Good News Corner

'In God We Trust' Returning to Public Schools, Buildings in More US States

[CBN News] Florida is one of a handful of states that passed laws in 2018 requiring or permitting schools and other public buildings to prominently post the words "In God We Trust."

Arizona also granted their schools the right to post the state's motto in English, which appears in Latin on the Grand Canyon state seal - "God Enriches."

Now other state legislatures want to signify God's presence in their schools and public buildings as well.

Some state lawmakers are trying to allow or require that the Ten Commandments be posted in schools and public places. Alabama voters passed an initiative in November permitting the Ten Commandments to be posted on state property. Backers of the measure are hopeful it will become law and if challenged, the conservative majority on the US Supreme Court would approve it.

About CHPP

About Capitol Hill Prayer Partners

Our Mission Statement

Capitol Hill Prayer Partners (CHPP) is a ministry which is positioned on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., helping members of the Body of Christ to "pray for those in authority over us" in our federal government. Our primary purpose is to offer intercession on site for the members of Congress and their staffs each day that the Senate and the House of Representatives are in session; and our chief prayer focus is that "God's will be done in earth, as it is in heaven." [Matthew 6:10].

Because Jesus Christ has shed His blood for all, we, too, pray for ALL, in a nonpartisan manner. Also, because the scriptures indicate that "the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" (James 4:17), we are confident that fervent prayer, offered in the halls of the highest chambers of government in our land, can avail much for America. Capitol Hill Prayer Partners welcomes those who feel called to join us, engaging in this strategic work of intercession for our nation: "For there is no power but of God; the powers that be are ordained of God." [Romans 13:1]

Operation Restoration

Once each week, on Sunday mornings and for 24 hours, join with others in OPERATION RESTORATION . . .

"Operation Restoration"

This initiative is based upon the Move of the Spirit that was launched last month during Operation Refiner's Fire. The LORD has shown us that He has used those fires to ignite the FIRE of the HOLY SPIRIT to visit our people, which He now yearns to keep burning among our people until the day of His return!

"Operation Restoration" is based on the promise of Scripture, recorded in
2 Chronicles 7:14,15.

It is written:

. . . "and if My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

"Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to the prayer offered in this place."

This is a weekly Solemn Assembly, where saints can feel free to gather each Sunday, to offer prayers of repentance before our Lord, for the many sins our nation has committed before Him.
Abba so desires to hear our prayers . . . He is just waiting to heal us!
You can join us, any Sunday, beginning at 9:00 a.m. EST by calling:
605-468-8850
Access Code: 221654#
Each week, our conference line for Operation Restoration will remain open until Monday morning at 9:00 a.m.EST -- allowing for 24 hours of nonstop prayer before our King of Kings, that He might, indeed, "heal our land." Amen.

God bless you!
