1. IDF Uncovers Hezbollah Attack Tunnels Penetrating Into Israel - Breaking Israel News

The IDF announced on Tuesday that it is setting out to neutralize another threat to Israel's existence: Hezbollah terror tunnels dug into the solid rock that separates northern Israel from Lebanon.

Dubbed Operation Northern Shield, the IDF began the process near the town of Metulla. The goal of the operation is to neutralize the plan that Hezbollah calls "Conquering the Galilee," a plan that would coordinate massive barrages of hundreds of missiles with border infiltrations carried out by 5,000 specially-trained Hezbollah terrorists.

IDF spokesperson Lt. Col. Jonathan Conricus told the media that several of the tunnels had penetrated into Israeli territory and that the IDF was working to destroy them, emphasizing that the tunnels "are not yet operationally ready" and therefore did not pose an "immediate threat."

2. Operation Northern Shield: IDF strikes Hezbollah terror tunnels - World Israel News

Overnight Monday the Israeli Army launched an operation to destroy Hezbollah's cross-border terror tunnels from Lebanon into Israel.

Operation "Northern Shield," as it's been called, is a major, multi-branch effort of the Israeli Defense Forces involving the Intelligence Branch, the Combat Engineering Corps and the Administration for the Development of Weapons and Infrastructure. The Northern Command is leading the operation, headed by Maj.-General Yoel Strick.

"The digging of the cross-border attack tunnels, which the IDF discovered before they became operational and posed an imminent threat to the safety of Israeli civilians, constitutes a flagrant and severe violation of Israeli sovereignty," the IDF said in a statement.

3. IDF says 200-meter attack tunnel from Lebanon uncovered as operation launches - Times of Israel

The Israeli military on Tuesday said it uncovered the "first of sure to be many" cross-border attack tunnels dug by the Lebanese Hezbollah terrorist group, this one from under a house in the Lebanese village of Kafr Kila, across from the Israeli town of Metulla.

This was the first tunnel that the Israel Defense Forces has said it discovered as part of a newly launched operation - Northern Shield - to find and destroy the offensive subterranean passages from Lebanon, which the army said are not yet operational and do not present an immediate threat to Israelis.

"At this time, having exposed the tunnel, IDF soldiers are conducting engineering and operational efforts before neutralizing it," the army said in a statement.

4. Report: Lebanese army mobilizes forces amid Israeli border operation - YNET News

The Lebanese army has begun mobilizing troops to the
country's border with Israel, Arabic-language media reported Tuesday, saying the decision was made in wake of an Israeli military operation on its side of the border.

The IDF announced Tuesday that it had launched an
‎‎operation to expose and neutralize cross-border ‎‎terror tunnels dug by Hezbollah under the Israel-‎‎Lebanon border. The military did not disclose how ‎‎many tunnels snake ‎‎into Israeli territory from ‎‎Lebanon nor how long the ‎‎operation, code-named ‎‎"Northern Shield," would last.

The Israeli military issued a statement on its
Arabic-language social media channels, warning Lebanese soldiers and Hezbollah operatives against approaching the security fence or the tunnel grid.

5. At Tel Aviv rally, 30,000 protest rising violence against women - Times of Israel

Some 30,000 demonstrators gathered in Tel Aviv's Rabin Square Tuesday evening to protest what they say is the authorities' failure to stem a sharp increase in violence against women.

The rally was the culmination of a day of action that saw thousands of women go on strike and participate in rallies across the country. Intersections throughout Israel were blocked Tuesday morning as women went on strike to protest the deaths of 24 women killed since the start of the year by a partner, family member, or someone known to them.

"Today we made history," the protest's organizers told the crowd. "Today the silence on the violence against women has turned to screams."

1. Solemn public pays tribute as Bush lies in state in Rotunda - OneNewsNow

The nation's capital embraced George H.W. Bush in death with solemn ceremony and high tributes to his service and decency, as the remains of the 41st president took their place in the Capitol Rotunda for three days of mourning and praise by the political elite and everyday citizens alike. Trump has ordered the federal government closed Wednesday for a national day of mourning. Flags on public buildings are flying at half-staff for 30 days.

In an invocation opening Monday evening's ceremony, the U.S. House chaplain, the Rev. Patrick J Conroy, praised Bush's commitment to public service, from Navy pilot to congressman, U.N. ambassador, envoy to China and then CIA director before being elected vice president and then president. Even before sunrise Tuesday, members of the public lined up to pay their respects as an honor guard stood watch beside Bush's casket in the cavernous Rotunda, open until Wednesday's funeral. Eulogies will be offered by former President George W. Bush, former Sen. Alan Simpson of Wyoming, former Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney and historian Jon Meacham, Bush family spokesmen said.

After services in Washington, Bush will be returned to Houston to lie in repose at St. Martin's Episcopal Church before burial Thursday at his family plot on the library grounds. His final resting place will be alongside Barbara Bush, his wife of 73 years who died in April, and Robin Bush, the daughter they lost to leukemia in 1953 at age 3. (Read more)

- Father, we pray for Your comfort to surround the Bush family as they mourn the passing of their beloved Poppy. We thank You for his legacy of faith and family and pray it will continue through them.

- "A righteous man who walks in his integrity- How blessed are his sons after him." (Proverbs 20:7)

2. U.S. Asserts Authority at NATO in Stinging Criticism - FreeBeacon

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo , addressing a gathering of NATO leaders on Tuesday, offered a sobering rebuke of the international treaty group, telling the crowd the Trump administration will not stand down in the face of rising threats from a host of rogue regimes. Criticizing the rise of anti-Israel bias and complacency in the face of growing threats from countries such as [China and] Iran, Pompeo championed President Donald Trump's foreign policy vision.

"China has routinely exploited loopholes in World Trade Organization rules, imposed market restrictions, forced technology transfers, and stolen intellectual property. And it knows that 'world opinion' is powerless to stop its Orwellian human rights violations," Pompeo said. Additionally, "Iran didn't join the community of nations after the nuclear deal was inked; it spread its newfound riches to terrorists and dictators. Tehran holds multiple American hostages," he noted.

The Trump administration will continue to pursue international policies that "reassert our sovereignty to reform the liberal international order, and we want our friends to help us and to exert their sovereignty. We aspire to make the international order serve our citizens-not control them. America intends to lead-now and always." (Read more)

- Father, we pray these strong words will lead to real change among the member nations of NATO and within the United Nations regarding China and Iran.

- It is better to heed the rebuke of a wise person than to listen to the song of fools. (Ecclesiastes 7:5)

3. Mexico's New President Quickly Signs Legislation Aimed at Shutting Down Migrant Caravans - Western Journal

With the city of Tijuana reeling from an influx of migrants that Mexican authorities allowed to enter the country, Mexico's new president has acted to stop further migrant caravans before they begin. On Saturday, new Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador signed an agreement with El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras to increase jobs in the region as a way to stem the flow of U.S.-bound migrants, The Washington Post reported.

Finance ministers of the four nations will meet in the first quarter of 2019 to develop "programs, projects, and specific actions, for the sake of jobs generation and poverty fight in the region," according to the agreement. An "integral development plan" will be created to make Central American nations better places to live, reducing the numbers of citizens who cite high crime and high unemployment as reasons to leave.

Mexico wants the U.S. to kick in funding for a regional economic plan to help address the root causes that sent migrants from their homes. Incoming Mexican foreign minister Marcelo Ebrard said the U.S. should pay $20 billion toward Central American renewal. "Mexico by itself is going to invest in our own territory during the next administration, more than $20 billion, and so any serious effort regarding our brothers in El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala should be for a similar amount," he said. (Read more)

- Father, we thank You for this quick action and acknowledgement that reform is needed. We pray for Your protection to cover Mexican President Obrador and for Your wisdom to guide him, giving the people of Central America hope for their futures.

- The righteous is a guide to his neighbor. (Proverbs 12:26a)

4. U.S. Supreme Court Turns Away Challenge to Trump's Border Wall - FreeBeacon

The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday rebuffed a challenge by three conservation groups to the authority of President Donald Trump's administration to build a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border, a victory for Trump who has made the wall a centerpiece of his hardline immigration policies.

The justices' declined to hear the groups' appeal of a ruling by a federal judge in California rejecting their claims that the administration had pursued border wall projects without complying with applicable environmental laws. The groups are the Center for Biological Diversity, the Animal Legal Defense Fund and Defenders of Wildlife.

The three conservation groups sued last year in San Diego after the Department of Homeland Security authorized projects to replace existing border fencing at two sites in southern California, as well as the construction of prototype border walls. (Read more)

- Father, we thank You for this just ruling. We also pray for an end to these baseless federal lawsuits and injunctions so that the Trump Administration can be free to govern.

- Though the wicked bind me with ropes, I will not forget your law. (Psalm 119:61)

5. Census confirms: 63 percent of 'non-citizens' on welfare, 4.6 million households - Washington Examiner

A majority of "non-citizens," including those with legal green card rights, are tapping into welfare programs set up to help poor and ailing Americans, a Census Bureau finding that bolsters President Trump's concern about immigrants costing the nation. In a new analysis of the latest numbers, from 2014, 63 percent of non-citizens are using a welfare program, and it grows to 70 percent for those here 10 years or more, confirming another concern that once immigrants tap into welfare, they don't get off it.

The Center for Immigration Studies said in its report that the numbers give support for Trump's plan to cut non-citizens off welfare from the "public charge" if they want a green card that allows them to legally work in the United States.

"Concern over immigrant welfare use is justified, as households headed by non-citizens use means-tested welfare at high rates. Non-citizens in the data include illegal immigrants, long-term temporary visitors like guest workers, and permanent residents who have not naturalized. While barriers to welfare use exist for these groups, it has not prevented them from making extensive use of the welfare system, often receiving benefits on behalf of U.S.-born children," added the Washington-based immigration think tank. (Read more)

- Father, give our legislators the courage to reign in these entitlement programs, especially those that encourage dependency among our people.

- For you, being so wise, tolerate the foolish gladly. For you tolerate it if anyone enslaves you, anyone devours you, anyone takes advantage of you, anyone exalts himself, anyone hits you in the face. (2 Corinthians 11:19-20)

6. Grassley: Criminal justice reform should take priority over judges - The Hill

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) says that passing criminal justice reform should take priority over judicial nominees, challenging Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), who wants to keep the focus on nominees and other issues this month.

Grassley says he's willing to push judicial nominees pending in his committee over into 2019 to give his colleagues more time to debate bipartisan criminal justice reform legislation that he has been working on for four years and has the support of President Trump. "It would be a very legitimate trade-off if time is a factor," Grassley told The Washington Post Live Tuesday morning. Grassley argued that criminal justice reform has well over 60 votes in the Senate and that McConnell should follow through on his promise to move it if it had enough support.

Grassley's Democratic partner on the legislation, Senate Minority Whip Dick Durbin (Ill.), is taking the lead in rounding up support for the bill in the Democratic conference. "Cory Booker and I can bring together a substantial majority of Democrats," he said. "I think we have good support on the left. I don't have anyone that I'm worried about at the moment." (Read more)

- Father, we pray Majority Leader McConnell will schedule the vote for this important criminal justice reform bill.

- A father of the fatherless and a judge for the widows is God in His holy habitation. God makes a home for the lonely; He leads out the prisoners into prosperity, only the rebellious dwell in a parched land. (Psalm 68:5-6)

7. NRCC Hacked During 2018 Midterms, Emails Stolen - FreeBeacon

The National Republican Congressional Committee suffered a major hack earlier this year, according to three senior party officials, raising concerns the intrusion may have been orchestrated by a foreign agent.

Thousands of of sensitive emails were exposed to an outside intruder, reported Politico, who spoke to the officials on condition of anonymity. The committee conducted an internal investigation and alerted the FBI, but senior House Republicans like House Speaker Paul Ryan (R., Wis.), House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R., Calif.) and Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R., La.), did not know about the hack until Politico reached out for a comment on Monday.

"The NRCC can confirm that it was the victim of a cyber intrusion by an unknown entity. The cybersecurity of the Committee's data is paramount, and upon learning of the intrusion, the NRCC immediately launched an internal investigation and notified the FBI, which is now investigating the matter," said Ian Prior, a vice president at Mercury. (Read more)

- Father, we pray You will help the FBI find who was truly behind this breach and bring them to justice.

- And He will bring down their pride together with the trickery of their hands. (Isaiah 25:11b)

8. Grassley Demands Answers From Wray Over Raid Of Whistleblower On Clinton Foundation - Daily Caller

In the wake of a bombshell Daily Caller News Foundation investigative report late last week, Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley demanded answers from FBI Director Christopher Wray about a Nov. 19 bureau raid on the home of a recognized whistleblower.

The whistleblower, Dennis Cain, who was once employed by an FBI contractor, reportedly turned over documents to the Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz regarding the bureau's failure to investigate potential criminal activity regarding former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, the Clinton Foundation and the Russian company that purchased Uranium One.

Horowitz subsequently deemed Cain a whistleblower protected under the Intelligence Community Whistleblower Protection Act, Cain's lawyer, Michael Socarras, told TheDCNF. Grassley sent a letter to Wray on Nov. 30 asking pointed questions about the raid on Cain's private residence in Union Bridge, Maryland. The whistleblower act protects federal employees who disclose classified documents to the proper authorities, which includes the IG. (Read more)

- Father, we pray the brave men and women who come forward with evidence of wrongdoing within our government will be protected. Help Chairman Grassley hold the FBI responsible for this action.

- A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out, till he has brought justice through to victory. (Matthew 12:20)

9. D.C., Maryland subpoena Trump Organization tax returns - Washington Times

Maryland and the District of Columbia announced subpoenas Tuesday to get a look at the Trump Organization's tax returns, as part of a lawsuit claiming President Trump is violating the Constitution. The two jurisdictions said they're subpoenaing the Trump Organization and other parts of the president's business empire, as well as five federal departments or agencies, demanding details of Mr. Trump's business dealings related to his Trump International Hotel in Washington.

Among the demands to the Trump Organization are "all of your state and federal income tax returns, including all schedules, attachments, and other forms or supporting documentation completed or submitted with the tax returns."

A federal judge, Peter J. Messitte, a Clinton appointee to the bench, has ruled that the lawsuit can proceed and approved a discovery request giving the state and the city a chance to pry loose documents to discover more about the president's businesses. The Treasury, Defense, Commerce and Agriculture departments will all be subpoenaed, as will the General Services Administration, which handles most government property, including the Old Post Office building the hotel now occupies. (Read more)

- Father, we pray for You to remove every hindrance to the Trump Administration, such as this ruling. We pray President Trump will be able to appeal this decision and prevent this intrusion into his personal affairs.

- But we prayed to our God, and because of them we set up a guard against them day and night. (Nehemiah 4:9)

10. U.S. Confirms: Iran Successfully Fired Nuclear Capable Missiles - FreeBeacon

Senior U.S. officials confirmed early Monday that Iran has successfully test-fired multiple nuclear-capable missiles in violation of United Nations restrictions on such activity, drawing a fierce reaction from the Trump administration, which will pressure European leaders this week to take immediate action aimed at countering Iran's latest military moves. The Iranian ballistic missile test comes on the heels of new evidence unearthed by the United States tying Tehran to the proliferation of advanced weaponry and missiles across the Middle East, including in Yemen, where Iranian-backed rebels continue to attack a Saudi coalition seeking to stem the violence. "We have been warning the world for some time that we are accumulating risk of a regional conflict if we do not deter Iran's missile testing and proliferation," he said. "Iran is on the wrong track and our campaign of maximum economic pressure is designed to starve the regime of the revenue it needs to test missiles and proliferate missiles, support terrorism, conduct cyber attacks, [and] conduct acts of maritime aggression." (Read more)

- Father, we pray our allies will get serious about the threat Iran poses to Israel and the rest of the world.

- Hear me, my God, as I voice my complaint; protect my life from the threat of the enemy. Hide me from the conspiracy of the wicked, from the plots of evildoers. (Psalm 64:1-2)

Discerning the agenda of wealth redistribution

According to an analysis of 2014 Census Bureau data, the American taxpayer is footing the bill for non-citizens to live in the US. The Center for Immigration Studies (CIS), an independent, non-partisan, non-profit, research organization, reports 63% of households headed by a non-citizen used at least one welfare program in 2014, compared to 35% of native-headed households. CIS also found in the Census data that compared to native households, non-citizen households have much higher use of food programs (45% vs 21% respectively) and Medicaid (50% vs 23% respectively). Some 31% of non-citizen headed households receive cash welfare.

CIS reports, "While most new legal immigrants (green card holders) are barred from most welfare programs, as are illegal immigrants and temporary visitors, these provisions have only a modest impact on non-citizen household use rates because: 1) most legal immigrants have been in the country long enough to qualify; 2) the bar does not apply to all programs, nor does it always apply to non-citizen children; 3) some states provide welfare to new immigrants on their own; and, most importantly, 4) non-citizens (including illegal immigrants) can receive benefits on behalf of their U.S.-born children who are awarded U.S. citizenship and full welfare eligibility at birth." CIS says some 50% of households headed by naturalized immigrants (US citizens) are on welfare.

The Census report indicates there are 4.68 million non-citizen households receiving welfare. These statistics may well be much lower than actual non-citizen use of welfare. During the previous Administration, steps were taken to make it more difficult to identify illegal immigrants' use of welfare programs. CIS reports: "However, we do know that about half of non-citizens in Census Bureau data are illegal immigrants, which we would expect to make welfare use for non-citizens in general low, as those in the country without authorization are barred from almost all federal welfare programs, this report shows that welfare use by households headed by illegal immigrants must be significant for the overall rate of welfare use among non-citizens to look as it does in this report."

The Bible is very clear about how to handle immigrants. Exodus 22:21 says, "You shall neither vex a stranger, nor oppress him." In context, Exodus 12:49 says, "One law shall be to him that is home-born, and unto the foreigner who sojourns among you." These themes are repeated in Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy. One law for all. If they are here illegally, they have broken the law as their first act. It is illegal for illegals to receive welfare, but millions are on welfare. The same holds true for voting. We have no recourse but to pay our taxes and non-citizens are receiving both the benefits of citizenship and those of wealth redistribution (socialism). Those who oppose this lawlessness, are labeled racists and xenophobes. Can you discern the agenda?

Have a blessed and powerful day,

Classic Hymns

ETERNAL FATHER, STRONG TO SAVE

"The Navy Hymn"

"Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints." (Psalm 116:15)

Lyrics

Verse 1: Eternal Father, strong to save,
Whose arm hath bound the restless wave,
Who bidd'st the mighty ocean deep
Its own appointed limits keep;
Oh, hear us when we cry to Thee,
For those in peril on the sea!

Verse 2: O Christ! Whose voice the waters heard
And hushed their raging at Thy word,
Who walked'st on the foaming deep,
And calm amidst its rage didst sleep;
Oh, hear us when we cry to Thee,
For those in peril on the sea!

Verse 3: Most Holy Spirit! Who didst brood
Upon the chaos dark and rude,
And bid its angry tumult cease,
And give, for wild confusion, peace;
Oh, hear us when we cry to Thee,
For those in peril on the sea!

Verse 4: O Trinity of love and power!
Our brethren shield in danger's hour;
From rock and tempest, fire and foe,
Protect them wheresoe'er they go;
Thus evermore shall rise to Thee
Glad hymns of praise from land and sea.

Melody

Be blessed by listening to this military hymn by going here: offered today in honor of the funeral service at National Cathedral for former President George H.W. Bush. Amen.

About the Author:

Words: William Whiting, 1860

Melody: Rev. John Bacchus Dykes, 1861

About the Hymn: The "Navy Hymn" is Eternal Father, Strong to Save. The original words were written as a poem in 1860 by William Whiting of Winchester, England, for a student who was about to sail for the United States. The melody, published in 1861, was composed by fellow Englishman, Rev. John Bacchus Dykes, an Episcopalian clergyman.

The hymn, found in most hymnals, is known as the "Navy hymn" because it is sung at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. It is also sung on ships of the Royal Navy (U.K.) and has been translated into French.

Eternal Father was the favorite hymn of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt and was sung at his funeral in Hyde Park, New York, in April 1945. It was also played by the Navy Band in 1963 as President John F. Kennedy's body was carried up the steps of the U.S. Capitol to lie in state. Roosevelt had served as Secretary of the Navy and Kennedy was a PT boat commander in World War II.

Chris Pratt Reads Christmas Story from Luke at Disneyland's Candlelight Ceremony

Despite a culture that has turned its proverbial back on the bonafide meaning of Christmas-the birth of Jesus-Disneyland has maintained its deeply religious, annual ceremony, a celebration that began in [1955] when the park opened.

Last year's Christmas story was narrated by "Thor" star Chris Hemsworth. This year, the "Guardians of the Galaxy" actor shared the Scripture.

"Ladies and gentlemen, it was really my honor to share this beautiful Candlelight Ceremony with all of you," Pratt said. "It's been a very special and inspiring night. For me, being a parent has really changed my life in so many ways. And one of those ways is to understand, truly, the love that a father could have for a child."
Pratt went on to relate God's love for us to his own love for his son, who was in the audience.

"The way we love our children, the more we love our children, the more we will understand the capacity for our Father in heaven to love us," he said. "Each and every one of us a precious creation, and he just marvels in the ways that we can try to please Him. That should give us a great deal of comfort. I know it does for me."

The well-known actor has been very outspoken about his Christian faith.

Over the summer, when he won MTV's "Generation Award," Pratt offered viewers nine rules for living well. He told the audience, "God is real. God loves you, God wants the best for you. Believe that, I do."

The 39-year-old celebrity also told the audience to "learn to pray" because "it is so good for your soul."

It is written:

. . . "and if My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

"Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to the prayer offered in this place."
