"Advent: Week Three" -- JOY

Focus on Israel

1. Bennett: Israelis of Judea and Samaria have rights, too - Israel National News

The Jewish Home Knesset faction held its weekly meeting Monday at Givat Asaf, north of Jerusalem, where two IDF soldiers were murdered by terrorists Thursday.

After the faction session, Bennett said: "A few days ago, at a bus stop near the community here, Givat Asaf, a terrorist brazenly murdered two combat soldiers and the third, Netanel, is currently fighting for his life. We pray for his well being."

"Half a million Israelis live in Judea and Samaria," he added. They have the right to life like any other citizen of Israel. They have the right to quality of life, like any other citizen of Israel. The same rules apply to Judea and Samaria as to Tel Aviv - and that is why we need to act."

2. Netanyahu: Israel developing missiles 'no other country has' - Times of Israel

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday said that Israel is developing missiles with "special capabilities that no other country has," during a visit to state-owned defense contractor Israel Aerospace Industries.

"They are developing offensive missiles here that can reach anywhere in the area and any target," Netanyahu said, according to a statement from his office. "This is the offensive power of the State of Israel, which is very important for us in all sectors."

"They are developing weapons systems here with special capabilities that no other country has," he said after he toured an IAI facility and was updated on the defense contractor's latest projects.

3. ANALYSIS: Erdogan once again proves he's a threat to world peace - Israel National News

In May 2017, activists in Germany projected a huge picture of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan dressed as Hitler on the walls of the Turkish embassy in Berlin.

The activists also projected the words "He's Back" on the walls of the embassy and said they were protesting the imprisonment of two Turkish journalists who had published articles critical of Erdogan. "We as Germans know what happens in the early stages of a dictatorship. The similarities between the early Nazi regime and Erdogan's Turkey right now are frightening," Oliver Bienkowski, one of the activists, told The Independent while adding the Turkish leader "must be stopped before it is too late."

The incident came in mind again watching Erdogan's latest bellicose actions toward the Kurds in Syria, his renewed vicious rhetoric toward Israel, as well as the publication of a new study documenting the massive crackdown on press freedom in Turkey.

4. Rivlin warns Hezbollah will lead to destruction of Lebanon - Times of Israel

President Reuven Rivlin told Israel Defense Forces soldiers Sunday that the Hezbollah terror group will drag Lebanon into war with Israel, "ultimately leading to [Lebanon's] destruction."

"We see the government of Lebanon as responsible for what happens in Lebanon," Rivlin said as he toured the northern border hours after the IDF announced it had located another Hezbollah cross-border attack tunnel, the fourth since it started a search-and-destroy mission called Operation Northern Shield earlier this month.

"We are warning Hezbollah not to impose an Iranian agenda on Lebanon, or to use it to attack Israel," he said. "The IDF is prepared and ready to respond to any scenario forced upon us."

"Hezbollah's offensive tunnels constitute a flagrant violation of Israeli sovereignty, and the international community must understand that Israel will do whatever it takes to defend itself," Rivlin said.

"Hezbollah, which presents itself as the 'defender of Lebanon,' will ultimately lead to its destruction," he warned.

5. IDF clamps down on West Bank after deadly terror attacks - Jerusalem Post

The IDF continued to clamp down on the West Bank, arresting dozens of Palestinians as security forces continue to search for a Hamas cell believed to be behind a string of deadly attacks which claimed the lives of three Israelis.

Troops were reinforced in the West Bank on Thursday with soldiers from the Golani Brigade and the Nahal Brigade.

The military believes that the overall atmosphere in the West Bank is tense, and security forces have warned that Hamas is trying to carry out terror attacks with guidance from Gaza, Turkey and Lebanon.

Last Sunday, a Palestinian terrorist linked to Hamas shot and injured seven Israeli civilians at a bus stop outside of the Ofra settlement. Among the wounded was a pregnant woman who gave birth prematurely. Her baby boy died three days later.

6. Knesset approves Netanyahu's appointment as Defense Minister - Israel National News

The Knesset approved on Monday evening the permanent appointment of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu as Defense Minister. 59 Knesset members voted in favor of the appointment and 56 voted against. In addition to the defense portfolio, the Prime Minister also holds the Foreign, Health and Ministry of Aliyah and Integration portfolios. Netanyahu has said that he will appoint an Aliyah and Integration Minister next week and a Foreign Minister next month.

The opposition sharply criticized Netanyahu during the discussion on the appointment. Opposition leader MK Tzipi Livni said that "the problem is not the proliferation of portfolios, but the lack of policy, and the personal and political weakness of the prime minister."

7. That Makes Four- Jerusalem Online

Israel has identified a 4th Hezbollah terror tunnel in the region close to the border with Lebanon, the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) press service has reported. The IDF spokesperson said that although the tunnel is "under IDF control and does not pose an imminent threat", it has been rigged with explosives and anyone attempting to enter it from the Lebanese side is risking their life.

The Daily Brief

1. Missing Flynn document in Mueller file could rile judge at sentencing hearing - Fox News

The apparent omission of a key document from Special Counsel Robert Mueller's latest filing in the case of Michael Flynn could cause turbulence at Tuesday's scheduled sentencing hearing for the former national security adviser. U.S. District Judge Emmet G. Sullivan had ordered the special counsel to turn over all government documents and "memoranda" related to the questioning of Flynn, after his attorneys claimed the FBI had discouraged him from bringing a lawyer to his fateful Jan. 24, 2017 interview with agents at the White House. He eventually pleaded guilty to making false statements about his contacts with Russia's ambassador, in connection with that meeting. Mueller met Sullivan's Friday afternoon deadline and provided documents, some of which were heavily redacted. Apart from a new memo from Mueller's team defending the FBI's handling of the interview -- and saying nothing about the way it was conducted "caused the defendant to make false statements to the FBI" -- the filing included a January 2017 memo on Flynn from then-FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe and a "302" (a document memorializing interviews) detailing a July 19, 2017 interview with then-FBI agent Peter Strzok. Strzok, one of two agents who interviewed Flynn, described that meeting in the document, filed Aug. 22 of that year. (Read more)

- Father, You know the truth of this situation. We pray that justice will prevail over General Flynn.

'Therefore the Lord will wait, that He may be gracious to you; and therefore He will be exalted, that He may have mercy on you. For the Lord is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for Him." (Isaiah 30:18)

2. Trump's legal quandaries multiply, threaten to dominate rest of his term - Press Herald

Two years after Trump won the presidency, nearly every organization he has led in the past decade is under investigation. Trump's private company is contending with civil suits digging into its business with foreign governments and with looming state inquiries into its tax practices. Trump's 2016 campaign is under scrutiny by special counsel Robert Mueller III, whose investigation into Russian interference has already led to guilty pleas by his campaign chairman and four advisers. Trump's inaugural committee has been probed by Mueller for illegal foreign donations, a topic that the incoming House Intelligence Committee chairman plans to further investigate next year. Trump's charity is locked in an ongoing suit with New York state, which has accused the foundation of "persistently illegal conduct." The mounting inquiries are building into a cascade of legal challenges that threaten to dominate Trump's third year in the White House. In a few weeks, Democrats will take over in the House and pursue their own investigations into all of the above - and more. (Read more)

- Father, we ask that You grant President Trump extra strength and the ability to fight whatever is necessary without being distracted from his primary duties to the nation.

- "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." (Psalm 46:1)

3. Schiff previews new line of attack against Trump: Deutsche Bank 'laundered Russian money' - Fox News

California Democratic Rep. Adam Schiff, the incoming House Intelligence Committee Chairman, charged Sunday that President Trump's financial records with Deutsche Bank and Russia might reveal a "form of compromise" that "needs to be exposed." Days after he told The New Yorker that Deutsche Bank was an "obvious place to start" when he begins making records demands next month, Schiff suggested that there had to be some reason that the German banking giant was willing to work with the Trump Organization. "The concern about Deutsche Bank is they have a history of laundering Russian money," Schiff said on NBC's "Meet the Press." He continued: "They paid hundreds of millions of dollars in fines to the state of New York, because they were laundering Russian money. And this apparently is the one bank that was willing to do business with the Trump Organization. Now is that a coincidence?" (Read more)

- Lord , these hateful attacks have gone out of control against the President. We pray for the truth to come quickly.

- "But You have seen it, for You observe trouble and grief, to repay it by Your hand." (Palm 10:14a)

4. Judicial Watch: Documents Reveal Obama State Department Urgently Provided Classified 'Russiagate' Documents to Multiple Senators Immediately Ahead of Trump Inauguration- Judicial Watch

Judicial Watch today released two sets of heavily redacted State Department documents, 38 pages and 48 pages, showing classified information was researched and disseminated to multiple U.S. Senators by the Obama administration immediately prior to President Donald Trump's inauguration. The documents reveal that among those receiving the classified documents were Sen. Mark Warner (D-VA), Sen. Ben Cardin (D-MD), and Sen. Robert Corker (R-TN). Judicial Watch obtained the documents through a June 2018 Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit filed against the State Department after it failed to respond to a February 2018 request seeking records of the Obama State Department's last-minute efforts to share classified information about Russia election interference issues with Democratic Senator Ben Cardin (Judicial Watch v. U.S. Department of State (No. 1:18-cv-01381)). The documents reveal the Obama State Department urgently gathering classified Russia investigation information and disseminating it to members of Congress within hours of Donald Trump taking office. - Lord, we ask that any and all improprieties that led to attacks on President Trump be revealed.

- "For the arms of the wicked shall be broken, but the Lord upholds the righteous." (Psalm 37:17)

5. Corruption investigators probing Trump's inaugural committee - Washington Examiner

President Trump's inaugural committee is under investigation for potentially misspending some of the $107 million it received to organize a string of events celebrating the start of the president's term, according to a report. Federal prosecutors in Manhattan are also probing whether some of the committee's biggest contributors donated money in order to curry favor with the incoming Trump administration in violation of anti-corruption laws, the Wall Street Journal reported Thursday. The criminal inquiry reportedly emanates from an investigation by the U.S. Attorney's Office in the Southern District of New York into the business dealings of Michael Cohen, Trump's former fixer. (Read more)

- Father, we pray that You will bring forth any lies on the part of investigators or those investigated. IF there is no crime here, then we ask You to release the committee from this action.

- "You reject all those who stray from Your statutes, for their deceit is falsehood." (Psalm 119:118)

6. Why the US economy will likely fall into a recession next year- Fox Business

The U.S. economy will likely fall into a recession next year, according to Liz Ann Sonders, the chief investment strategist at Charles Schwab. "Well there's 100 percent chance we're going to get another recession," she said on Friday during an interview on "WSJ at Large with Gerry Baker." "In the next year, I do think trade holds the key." The financial markets have been rocky over the past few weeks, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average falling an estimated 10 percent from its peak a couple of months ago. Investors fret about a number of issues that could potentially derail the economy, most notably U.S.-China trade relations, rising Federal Reserve interest rates and uncertainty over how Britain will exit the European Union. (Read more)

- Lord, we pray against the fear of a recession, and stand firm in faith that You will stop the Stock Market volatility.

"Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My names, He will give you." (John16:23b)

7. Women's March Leaders Face Anti-Semitic, Corruption Charges Ahead of Second Anti-Trump Event -Breitbart

The anti-Trump Women's March that hit the streets the day after President Donald Trump's inauguration is now gearing up for a repeat event on January 19 in Washington, DC, but some of its founders are facing charges from former fellow activists that the left-wing group is promoting the bigotry and corruption it claims to oppose. Teresa Shook, credited as one of the women who launched the march on social media, spearheaded the criticism last month when she called on the women now running the "movement" to step down. Those women include Women's March National co-chairwomen Carmen Perez, Bob Bland, Tamika D. Mallory, and Linda Sarsour, who is a Palestinian American known for her anti-Israel stance. (Read more)

- Lord, we pray that You will realign this movement, or remove it entirely. We pray that those who hate You and Your people will no longer have a voice.

- "Remove falsehood and lies far from me." (Proverbs 30:8a)

8. Porn industry girds for Trump crackdown on filth - Washington Examiner

Pornographers are bracing for the first major obscenity clampdown in three decades under President Trump's new pick for attorney general, William Barr, a strident social conservative whose views threaten the lucrative industry.

Anti-porn campaigners were thrilled with Trump's selection of Barr, previously attorney general under President George H.W. Bush, noting his enthusiastic obscenity prosecutions in the early '90s. Barr, described by one Washington attorney as a "staunch Catholic conservative," isn't shy about his views, warning in a 1995 articlethat "secularists" were targeting "laws that reflect traditional moral norms" and that "we are seeing the constant chipping away at laws designed to restrain sexual immorality [and] obscenity."

The porn landscape is dramatically different from the early '90s, when it was mostly sold at stores and by mail. Now, it's available for free on three of the top 10 U.S. websites. Donna Rice Hughes, founder of the group Enough is Enough that campaigns for "making the Internet safer for children and families," expressed "high hopes" for Barr. Hughes, who also met with Sessions, argues that convictions would be easy. "Jurors look over and think, that's the guy responsible for my husband walking out on me. Or that's the one responsible for my 10 year old [viewing porn]," said Hughes. (Read more)

- Lord, if Mr. Barr is Your choice for this position, then we pray that he will be confirmed, and confirmed quickly with as little rancor as possible.

- "The work of righteousness will be peace." (Isaiah 32:17a)

9. California utility, under scrutiny over massive wildfire, falsified pipeline safety records for years: regulators - Fox News

One of California's largest utilities company was accused Friday of falsifying safety documents for the state's natural gas pipelines for years, even after it was blamed for a 2010 pipeline explosion that killed eight people.

An investigation by the California Public Utilities Commission found that Pacific Gas & Electric Co. had allegedly falsified data from 2012 to 2017 because it lacked enough employees to find and mark natural gas pipelines.

According to investigators, PG&E "had common knowledge among its supervisors that locators falsified data." "Utility falsification of safety-related records is a serious violation of law and diminishes our trust in the utility's reports on their progress," commission President Michael Picker said in a statement. "These findings are another example of why we are investigating PG&E's safety culture."

PG&E has been under scrutiny for some time over safety concerns - just last year the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection found that the company equipment was responsible for starting 16 wildfires. (Read more)

- Father, if indeed P&E is responsible for the Paradise fire, we ask that You bring justice for those who lost everything.

- "And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus." (Phil 4:19)

10. Harvard Scientists Are Really Launching a Sun-Blocking Geoengineering Experiment - Popular Mechanics

If we're not going to stop climate change by reducing emissions, then we're going to have to engineer some outlandish way to save civilization-that's the basic logic behind geoengineering, which researchers in certain circles have been talking up for the past ten-plus years. Now, somebody's actually going to try it, at least as a small-scale test.

One of these wild ideas is to fill the atmosphere with particles that block some sunlight from getting through. Harvard scientists are about to launch a small amount of these particles into the stratosphere in a test to be held next year.

The weird-sounding idea has actual roots in history and science. In 1991, the volcano Mount Pinatubo erupted in the Philippines, sending millions of tons of ash and sulfur dioxide into the atmosphere. This layer of particulates actually lowered global temperatures by almost a full degree Fahrenheit for the following two years.

If one volcano can have such a dramatic effect on the global climate, can an artificial eruption have the same effect? Researchers speculated that by filling the atmosphere with a similar level of particulates-while skipping the lava and explosions, of course-they might be able to reduce global temperatures enough to halt or delay some of the more severe consequences of climate change.

Of course, that's a pretty big if. Messing with the climate, though unintentionally, is what got us into this mess, and by this point, humanity should have learned that even small changes can have drastic and wide-reaching consequences. In particular, one study published last year found that spraying particulates into the atmosphere around the Gulf of Mexico could trigger droughts in sub-Saharan Africa. (Read more)

- Lord, let all who think they are god be changed by Your power - the One True Living God. Let nothing these scientists do harm the earth or its inhabitants.

- "Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave nor forsake you." (Deut 31:6)

How US presidents accelerated prophecy

Beginning in 2005, when president George W. Bush coerced and pressured then Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon to remove some 8,500 Israeli Jews from Gaza, US presidents set America on collision course with the one true God. Within a few days of the Gaza evacuation, Katrina hit the US coast. Inside of six months, Sharon suffered a stroke and spent eight years in a coma before passing. Americans elected the immediate past "president," who promised "A New Beginning" with Muslims and the banned Muslim Brotherhood became his major foreign policy partner. Today, Israel is under attack and the new US president is trying to fix the problems the previous presidents helped create.

In 2005, the terrorist group Hamas took over Gaza the moment the Israelis left. This was the true beginning of what five years later in 2010 became known as the Arab Spring where national Arab governments were being replaced with Islamist, Muslim Brotherhood-backed, al Qaeda-supported rebellions. In elections, the people who claim to be Palestinians elected Hamas over the other terrorist groups PLO and Fatah in Gaza. Hamas provided a clear model for the Muslim Brotherhood to use the leverage of a sympathetic White House to instigate rebellions in Tunisia, Egypt, Yemen, Libya and Syria. The result was widespread chaos in the Middle East and a resurgence of terrorism surrounding Israel.

Today, the destabilization of Syria from Arab Spring has proven an ongoing threat to peace and has caused much human suffering. Hezbollah missiles rain down on Israel and clashes with Israeli military have become commonplace. Hamas has continued its missile attacks from Gaza and the West Bank (traditional Jewish lands of Samaria and Judea), as well as fomenting riots. On Thursday, December 6, the UN's Arab members joined together to vote down a US-sponsored resolution condemning Hamas as a terrorist group. The vote was significant because the Trump Administration has been trying to turn the tide of anti-Israel sentiment that was further allowed to entrench during the previous White House.

US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley told the General Assembly before the vote that "peace must be built on truth. To its shame, the General Assembly has avoided the truth of Hamas terrorism for far too long" and that the assembly could make history by condemning "one of the most obvious and grotesque cases of terrorism in the world." Instead, the vote, which required two-thirds majority to pass, fell short 87 in favor to 57 opposed with 33 abstentions. Speaking of the end time Day of the Lord, Zechariah 12:9 says, "And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem." We can see how prophecy unfolds even by tracking very specific actions since 2005. This is how the nations so easily stand against Jerusalem and how the leaders we elect establish our destiny as a nation and a people.

Have a blessed and powerful day,

Classic Hymns

SILENT NIGHT

"Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. Then the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord." (Luke 2:8-11)

Lyrics
Silent night, holy night
All is calm, all is bright
Round yon Virgin, Mother, Mother and Child
Holy infant so tender and mild
Sleep in heavenly peace
Sleep in heavenly

Silent night, holy night,
Shepherds quake at the sight;
Glories stream from heaven afar,
Heavenly hosts sing Alleluia!
Christ the Savior is born,
Christ the Savior is born!

Silent night, holy night,
Son of God, love's pure light;
Radiant beams from thy holy face
With the dawn of redeeming grace,
Jesus, Lord, at thy birth,
Jesus, Lord, at thy birth.

About the Author:

Words: John Freeman Young, 1859

Melody: Max Reger

About the Hymn:

In 1859, the Episcopal priest John Freeman Young, then serving at Trinity Church, New York City, wrote and published the English translation that is most frequently sung today, translated from three of Mohr's original six verses. The version of the melody that is generally used today is a slow, meditative lullaby or pastorale, differing slightly (particularly in the final strain) from Gruber's original, which was a "moderato" tune in 6 8 time and siciliana rhythm. Today, the lyrics and melody are in the public domain, although newer translations usually are not.

The carol has been translated into about 140 languages.

See jaw-dropping evidence of 'real Mount Sinai'

Newly released film reveals area hidden by Saudis

A new short film, "Finding the Mountain of Moses: The Real Mount Sinai in Saudi Arabia," was released Monday that takes viewers into a highly restricted zone in the Islamic kingdom with an abundance of features that fit the biblical description of the place where the Ten Commandments were given after the Israelites fled captivity in Egypt.

The producer, Ryan Mauro, a national security analyst, told WND last month of his trips to the region the Bible calls Midian, where Moses married Jethro's daughter and shepherded Jethro's flocks.

Mauro, who was also an adjunct professor for Liberty and Regent Universities until recently, covertly traveled to Saudi Arabia to obtain unprecedented footage of the sites.

He shows viewers many landmarks and other evidence that fit the biblical account. They include the rock at Horeb struck by Moses, the golden-calf altar made by the Israelites, the altar constructed by Moses, the Oasis at Elim and the cave of Elijah.

Could the blackened peak on the mountain - Jabal Maqla in the Jabal al-Lawz mountain range in northwestern Saudi Arabia - be evidence of the Exodus 19:18 account of fire descending from heaven?

Mauro points out that the Bible says more than 70 times that the Israelites went "out of Egypt."

He has established a website, Sinai in Arabia, with more information and an opportunity to donate to the project.

Israel to Send Time Capsule to the Moon Filled with "Significant" Items Like Copy of Bible and Israel's Declaration of Independence

SpaceIL, the first unmanned Israeli spacecraft that is due in early 2019 to be sent to the moon, will take a time capsule with significant Israeli objects within it.

Since the spacecraft is not expected to return to Earth, its information is likely to remain on the moon indefinitely and may be found and viewed by future generations.

The time capsule will contain national and traditional symbols such as the Bible, Israel's Declaration of Independence, the Israeli flag, the hope, the prayer recited before travelling (Tfillat Haderech), Israeli songs, a collection of paintings by Israeli children and other materials collected over the past few years from the general public and more.

The organizers announced that they also plan to store on board encyclopedias and dictionaries in 27 languages as a symbol of information accumulated by all humanity; a children's book inspired by the mission to the moon, Israeli literature, science books and discoveries and . . . (Read more)
