"Advent: Week One" -- HOPE

The Passing of President George W. Bush

The Passing of President George W. Bush

June 12, 1924 - November 30, 2018

This week, we will submit articles of interest all week long to honor the passing of our 41st President, George H.W. Bush. In so doing, we offer this prayer:

- "Father, in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ, we lift up those who now mourn the passing of this national leader. We thank You, Lord, that as we ask for the Comforter to visit all, with healing in Your wings, You will respond.

We ask that all seeds planted by George H.W. Bush, done according to Your will, would continue to bear fruit for Your Kingdom; but those that did not meet Your will, shall fall to the ground and be of no effect.

Thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayer, amen.

- "Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort." (2 Corinthians 1:3)

President Trump, who is in Argentina attending the G-20 summit, also issued a statement on behalf of himself and first lady Melania Trump. It read in part: "Melania and I join with a grieving Nation to mourn the loss of former President George H.W. Bush, who passed away last night. Through his essential authenticity, disarming wit, and unwavering commitment to faith, family, and country, President Bush inspired generations of his fellow Americans to public service - to be, in his words, "a thousand points of light" illuminating the greatness, hope, and opportunity of America to the world." 5. George Bush Sr. hailed as a 'great friend of Israel and the Jewish people' - Times of Israel

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Saturday hailed Bush for his efforts to boost Israeli security and for helping Jews immigrate from the Soviet Union.

"The people of Israel will always remember his commitment to Israel's security, his important contribution to the liberation of Soviet Jewry and his efforts to achieve peace in the Middle East at the Madrid Conference," Netanyahu said in a statement after the end of the Jewish sabbath.

The prime minister also remembered Bush as a "great American patriot" and praised his "wise leadership" at the end of the Cold War, which "helped steer the world to a peaceful transition and the spread of democracy." (Read more)

6. How 'lonely little' George H.W. Bush changed the US-Israel relationship - Times of Israel

Former Israeli ambassador to the United States Michael Oren once castigated Barack Obama for not abiding by the principle of "no daylight" and "no surprises." That was most reflected, the Israeli diplomat emphasized, in Obama's publicly castigating Israel's settlements.

But Obama was not the first president to make Israeli settlements such a point of contention. Former president George H.W. Bush, who died Friday night, went much further than him, in fact.

Bush, who was president from 1989 to 1993, forever changed American politics when he exerted his power to curtail the settlement enterprise and faced a vehement backlash.

"It is in the best interest of the peace process and of peace itself that consideration of this absorption aid question for Israel be deferred for simply 120 days," Bush told reporters. "I think the American people will strongly support me in this. I'm going to fight for it because I think this is what the American people want, and I'm going to do absolutely everything I can to back those members of the United States Congress who are forward-looking in their desire to see peace." 7. The letter George H.W. Bush left for Clinton is a lesson in grace - CNN

When Bill Clinton entered the White House, he found a letter from the man he beat: George H.W. Bush. Notes from outgoing presidents to incoming ones are a tradition, but Bush's letter on January 20, 1993, is a lesson on grace in defeat.

"He made us feel at home, as much as he could. Total class," Clinton said of the letter.

1. CNN Poll: 1 in 5 Europeans Say Jews Hold 'Too Much Influence' - CNN

A recent poll of Europeans on their attitude towards Jews found that a significant portion know little to nothing about the Holocaust, believe Jews have too much influence over politics and finance, and believe that anti-Semitism is a reaction to Jewish actions.

CNN and pollster ComRes polled over 7,000 people in multiple countries across Europe. They found that more than one in four think Jews hold too much influence in finance and business, and almost one in four think they are too influential in conflicts around the world. One in five said Jews have too much influence on the media and in politics.

Respondents also tended to overestimate the number of Jews in the world. A quarter of Hungarians and a fifth of Brits and Poles thought that more than 20 percent of people in the world are Jewish. The Pew Research Center found in a worldwide study that about .2 percent of the global population is Jewish. Four in 10 Europeans thought that their countries were between 3 and 10 percent Jewish, but no country other than Israel is more than 2 percent Jewish.

One third of Europeans polled said they knew little to nothing about the Holocaust, in which roughly six million Jews were killed. One in 20 said they had never heard of the Holocaust, including one in every five people between the ages of 18 and 34.

2. UN Wages War on Jewish People's Sovereignty in Land of Israel - United with Israel

With Chanukah just around the corner, the United Nations on Friday launched its latest attack on Israel as part of its ongoing attempt to marginalize and delegitimize the Jewish state.

The international body passed six anti-Israel resolutions in just one day, attacking everything from the Jewish people's role in ensuring religious freedom in Jerusalem to Israel's right to control territory it captured in the Golan Heights after Syria attacked the Jewish state in 1967.

With regard to the Jerusalem motion, the resolution denies the fact that under Israeli administration of the city, members of all faiths have access to holy sites. Conversely, under Jordanian rule prior to 1967, Jews faced severe discrimination with regard to access to holy sites, with a number of these sites destroyed.

3. Israeli opposition leaders demand Netanyahu resign - World Israel News

"A man driven by a sick obsession about what they say about him in the media can't lead the State of Israel. And every additional day in his role does damage to the citizens of Israel," he said.

Tzipi Livni tweeted, "Bribery! Israeli police recommend an indictment on bribery against the prime minister. Netanyahu needs to go home before he destroys law enforcement in order to save his own skin. The nation of Israel deserve clean leadership. Elections now!"

Police announced earlier Sunday that they've also built a case against Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife, Sara and recommended charges be brought against them for bribery, fraud and breach of trust.

4. Iran Announces New Weapons and Cyber Army, Ships Arms to Hezbollah - Jerusalem Post

The US accused Iran of launching a new missile on Saturday while Tehran boasted it had developed a "radar evading stealth" warship. The two incidents are linked to increased Iranian activity, including a flight to Beirut that allegedly brought arms for Hezbollah, and Tehran's claims it has pioneered a new cyber army. It shows that Iran is serious about challenging adversaries on sea, land, in the air and online, in a full court press designed to keep the region on alert for Tehran's next move.

On Saturday the US State Department accused Tehran of test-firing a new medium range ballistic missile "capable of reaching parts of Europe and anywhere in the Mideast." The risk of escalation is growing, Washington warned. Brian Hook, Washington's Iran-threat czar said that Iran "continues to prioritize missile development as a tool of revolution." Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, who is in Argentina for the G20 summit with US President Donald Trump, tweeted that the Iranian regime's test was a violation of UN Security Council Resolution 2231. "Iran's missile testing and missile proliferation is growing," he said, adding that the US condemned the test.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, this afternoon, Sunday, at the start of the weekly Cabinet meeting, made the following remarks:

"From the seat of Israel's government here in Jerusalem, I send heartfelt condolences to the Bush family and to the American people on the passing of President George H.W. Bush, a great American patriot. We in Israel will always remember his commitment to Israel's security, his decisive victory over Saddam Hussein, his important contribution to the liberation of Soviet Jewry, his support for the rescue of Ethiopian Jewry, as well as his efforts to advance peace in the Middle East in the Madrid Peace Conference. I wish to send my personal condolences to President George Bush and to Governor Jeb Bush and their families."

10. Sanhedrin Invites 70 Nations to Hanukkah Dedication of Altar for the Third Temple - Breaking Israel News

The nascent Sanhedrin released a declaration to the 70 nations for Hanukkah to be read at a ceremony in Jerusalem on the last day of the holiday. The ceremony will include the consecration of a stone altar prepared for use in the Third Temple. The declaration is intended as an invitation to the nations to participate in the Temple and to receive its blessings.

The altar is currently in the form of loose stone blocks ready to be transported to the Temple Mount and stored in a manner that will enable them to be transported and assembled at a moment's notice. When complete, the altar will be a square nine feet on each side and five feet tall, and includes a ramp for the priests to ascend. The decision to prepare the blocks and all the details of their composition is the result of a long study performed by the members of the Sanhedrin in conjunction with the Temple Institute. The stones are made of aerated concrete and are fit for use in the Temple. There are plans underway to prepare a new set made of actual stones which are considered the ideal material from which to build the altar.

A full-dress reenactment of the Korban Olah Tamid (the daily offering) will take place. Kohanim (Jewish men of the priestly caste descended from Aaron) wearing Biblically mandated garb will lead the ceremony. . . (Read more)

1. 7.0 earthquake, aftershocks strike Southcentral Alaska; damage reported across region - Anchorage Daily News

A 7.0 earthquake jolted Anchorage and the rest of Southcentral Alaska on Friday morning, cracking and collapsing roads and highways, damaging buildings, knocking out power and sending people scrambling outside and under furniture. The shaking left many homes a mess and aftershocks continued through the evening.

A number of injuries, at least one serious, were reported in Anchorage and the Matanuska-Susitna Borough. The earthquake's epicenter violently shook the most populous region of the state at about 8:30 a.m., just as people were settling in to work and school, but was felt as far as Tok and Valdez.

Seismologists called the quake the most significant in the state's largest city since the 1964 Good Friday earthquake, in terms of how strong the ground itself shook. Gov. Bill Walker issued a declaration of disaster Friday morning that was approved Friday afternoon by the Federal Emergency Management Agency. The quake inflicted serious structural damage on roads and bridges throughout the region. The Southcentral Alaska gas utility, Enstar, had received more than 300 reports of natural gas leaks by late afternoon, officials said. Utilities planned to work into the night to restore service to customers. (Read more)

- Father God, use this remarkable earthquake to gather the people together to seek the Lord, by repenting of sin, asking for forgiveness, and turning to Jesus in their dire time of need. We thank You, Lord, that no lives were lost in this disaster. Save souls, Lord, and draw the people to cry out to God. We pray in the Name of Jesus, amen.

2. Something Bizarre Happened After the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at the White House - The Blaze

President Donald Trump abandoned his protective press pool after the Christmas lighting ceremony at the White House and sped away in his motorcade, according to social media reports. Anita Kumar, the White House correspondent for McClatchy, tweeted about being left behind in the protective pool and how unprecedented and bizarre it is.

"I am the White House print pooler tonight. That means I am supposed to be with [President Donald Trump]," she tweeted. "Instead, I and the rest of the pool, were left at an event while POTUS returned to the White House."

"We have been told POTUS is back at the White House but technically we don't know that because we were not with him and did not seem him," she added. "I have been a print pooler for six years during the Obama and Trump administrations," she explained. "I have never been part of a protective pool that was left behind until today." (Read more)

- Father God, we have also been advised that, during the ceremony, a strange, red-colored laser beam appeared on the President's coat. This is the type of laser beam that assassins use to target their victim . . . Lord God, only You know whether these two reports are related, but we give You praise that, tonight, President Donald John Trump has once again been kept safe from all harm. Amen.

3. Mueller hardball fuels Trump allies' anger toward probe, risks backfiring - FoxNews

Special Counsel Robert Mueller's tough tactics with investigation targets and witnesses are fueling complaints about the probe from President Trump and his allies at a critical stage, as key cooperation efforts seem to break down.

Just this week, conservative author Jerome Corsi balked at a plea deal after complaining the Mueller team wanted him to admit to lying (which he claims he didn't do) only after he "couldn't give them what they wanted." He tweeted Wednesday he now plans to pursue a complaint against Mueller's team.

Corsi complained he was cornered by Mueller, blasting the probe in an interview with Fox News' "Tucker Carlson Tonight." He said he did not knowingly give prosecutors false information, claiming he forgot about emails shown to him during his first interview, noting they were among 60,000 contained on a laptop he provided to the special counsel's office.

"They ask you a question, they have material they won't show you, you've forgotten about it, and they say, 'You just lied because this email you forgot about in 2016 proves your current memory is wrong," Corsi said. "If you can't give them what they're looking for to fill their narrative, they blow you up and charge you with a crime." (Read more)

- Father God, we pray You hold Your hand over Mr. Mueller's life and all his team, and constrain them from levying outbursts of condemnation on Mr. Corsi's character. Knock the props out from under the shadow government in this issue and reverse the evil back from whence it came, and quench their attacks. We pray in Jesus' Name.

- "Behold, I the Lord will raise them out of the place whither you have sold them, and will return your recompense upon your own head." (Joel 3:7)

4. FBI Raids Home Of Whistleblower On Clinton Foundation, Lawyer Says - Daily Caller

FBI agents raided the home of a recognized Department of Justice whistleblower who privately delivered documents pertaining to the Clinton Foundation and Uranium One to a government watchdog, according to the whistleblower's attorney.

The delivered documents also show that then-FBI Director Robert Mueller failed to investigate allegations of criminal misconduct pertaining to Rosatom and to other Russian government entities attached to Uranium One, the document reviewed by TheDCNF alleges. Mueller is now the special counsel investigating whether the Trump campaign colluded with Russia during the 2016 election.

The whistleblower's lawyer, Michael Socarras, said he considered the FBI's raid to be an "outrageous disregard" of whistleblower protections. Sixteen agents arrived at the home of Dennis Nathan Cain, a former FBI contractor, on the morning of Nov. 19 and raided his Union Bridge, Maryland, home.

Cain informed the agent while he was still at the door that he was a recognized protected whistleblower under the Intelligence Community Whistleblower Protection Act and that Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz recognized his whistleblower status, according to Socarras. The agent immediately directed his agents to begin a sweep of the suburban home, anyway. Even after surrendering the information to the FBI, the agents continued to rummage through the home for six hours. (Read more)

- Almighty God, we ask that You raise Your hand up and halt the attacks of evil FBI agents and render them powerless in their endeavors to endanger Mr. Cain's life and home. Dispatch an angel to stand guard over him and protect him. We pray in the Name of Jesus.

- "Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of he Lord is near in the valley of decision." (Joel 3:14)

5. Trump Cabinet officials in the crosshairs as Dems zero in on DeVos, Zinke, others - Fox News

President Trump won't be the only high-profile target on House Democrats' investigative agenda when the new Congress is seated in January, with top officials in his Cabinet also expected to face a torrent of scrutiny.

House Democrats have signaled a particular interest in probing Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos, Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke, and Housing and Urban Development head Ben Carson. Other possible officials to go under the microscope include Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen and Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross.

- Almighty God, we pray that myriads of angels will be sent by You to earth who will surround each and every House Democrat who are planning a probe that is wicked to the core. Stop them before they ever make their first move, and pull them down, so that they are made weak and ineffective by God Himself. We pray in the Name of Jesus.

- "God divides the sea with His power, and by His understanding He smites through the proud." (Job 26:12)

6. Trump threatens to declassify 'devastating' docs about Democrats - New York Post

In a wide-ranging, exclusive interview with The Post, President Trump said Wednesday that if House Democrats launched probes into his administration - which he called "presidential harassment" - they'd pay a heavy price.

The commander-in-chief said he could declassify FISA warrant applications and other documents from Robert Mueller's probe - and predicted the disclosure would expose the FBI, the Justice Department and the Clinton campaign as being in cahoots to set him up.

But Trump told The Post he wanted to save the documents until they were needed. "It's much more powerful if I do it then," Trump said, "because if we had done it already, it would already be yesterday's news." Trump revealed his playbook just as Democrats are set to take over House committees in January where they are poised to investigate his potential business conflicts of interests, tax returns, Russia dealings and more. (Read more)

- Almighty Father in heaven, empower President Trump to stand tall against all the power of the House Democrats and flatten them to the ground as he exposes all their evil lies and deception made against him. We pray You stand with President Trump to support and fight all his enemies. In the Name of Jesus we pray.

- "Then he answered and spoke unto me saying, This is the Word of the Lord saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord of hosts." (Zechariah 4:6)

7. Obama Foundation Sees $232 Million Windfall in 2017 - FreeBeacon

Contributions to President Barack Obama's foundation skyrocketed last year as the group hauled in more than $230 million, its' most recent tax forms show. The drastic increase in funds also coincided with hefty pay raises for its executives, with one individual pulling in more than $800,000 in total compensation.

The Barack Obama Foundation, a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit that was launched in 2014 and carries a primary goal of building the Obama presidential center in Jackson Park on the South Side of Chicago, reported $231,993,748 in contributions and grants in 2017. This was an increase of more than $218 million from the $13 million in donations the foundation reported in 2016. A majority of the foundation's money last year came from just 13 undisclosed donors. - Father God, the Bible says, "For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? In this season of judgment, let man take heed to Your word, and to Your warnings in Your Holy Word, amen.

- "Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him." (1 John 2:15)

8. Biased screener undermining Trump judicial nominees, Republicans say - Washington Times

She's not a senator, but Cynthia Nance plays an enormous role in shaping the debate over some of President Trump's judicial picks. Ms. Nance, former dean of the University of Arkansas School of Law, handles the American Bar Association's judicial ratings for nominees to federal courts in North and South Dakota, Nebraska, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri and Arkansas, which make up the federal 8th Circuit. The ABA's role is one the more opaque parts of the process, but Republicans are pushing it into the light, accusing her of allowing personal bias, particularly a fealty to abortion rights, to color her ratings.

"The role of the courts has been seen as more and more political," said Curt Levey, president of the Committee for Justice. "As soon as it was clear that the selection of judges involved a lot of ideology, it became unacceptable [that] the ABA, which is very liberal, should play such a prominent role."

For conservatives, Ms. Nance's activism is a symptom of the larger problem within the ABA. "This is nothing new - they have a long record of being biased against conservative nominees," said Carrie Severino, chief counsel for the Judicial Crisis Network. (Read more)

- Father God, cover the ABA and all who represent it with a cloak of conservative intelligence and strong leanings toward godliness and standing for the right. Reduce the power of evil in the courts and those who represent them. We pray in Jesus' Name.

- "And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness, as the stars forever and ever." (Daniel 12:3)

9. Judge OKs sanctuary cities, rules anti-sanctuary law unconstitutional - Washington Times

A federal judge in New York has ruled the Trump sanctuary city crackdown illegal Friday - but even went further and also ruled the law Congress passed requiring information-sharing is unconstitutional. Judge Edgardo Ramos' decision frees sanctuary jurisdictions in New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Washington, Massachusetts and Virginia to continue their policies without fear of losing federal money. The judge said the Trump administration attempted to write new conditions of cooperation, including notifying the feds of illegal immigrants ready for pickup, beyond what Congress had authorized. He said it is up to Congress to decide those conditions. "The separation of powers acts as a check on tyranny and the concentration of power," the judge wrote.

It's not a groundbreaking ruling - several other judges have reached similar decisions. But it does apply the ruling to a broad swath of the country. The ruling orders the government to release federal money to states under the Byrne Justice Assistance Grant program - the program that former Attorney General Jeff Sessions had tried to sanction. (Read more)

- Father God, we ask that You keep a close watch over all our states who are lenient toward illegal immigrants. We ask that this decision be appealed at the Supreme Court. We pray in the Name of Jesus.

- "You shall not follow a multitude to do evil; neither shall you speak in a cause to decline after many to wrest judgment." (Exodus 23:2)

10. Mexicans Come to Their Senses. Turn on Liberals and Caravanners. Announce Huge Agreement with Trump - Western Journal

According to The Daily Caller, a poll by the Mexico City-based El Universal newspaper revealed that a whopping seven in ten Mexicans have a negative view of the migrant caravan, which is now parked in Tijuana, on the Mexico side of the U.S.-Mexican border. The poll also revealed that more than half of Mexicans polled, 52 percent, want illegal aliens to be blocked from entering the country.

The poll also announced that 55 percent of those polled want Mexico's President-elect Andrés Manuel López Obrador to get tough on any future caravans. This public swing could bode well for better relations between the United States and Mexico. (Read more)

- Lord God, we praise You for answered prayer regarding dismantling the outrageous plan of the Liberals and Caravanners. We ask that by God's strength and determination in the people of America and Mexico, You will war against the lawless and the wicked. We pray in the Name of Jesus.

11. Trump Signs NAFTA Replacement Deal with Mexico, Canada - Washington Examiner

Yesterday, President Donald J. Trump signed a historic trade deal with Mexico and Canada that will replace the outdated NAFTA. "Trump signed the U.S. Mexico Canada trade agreement in Argentina on the side of the G-20 summit," Pete Kasperowicz reports in the Washington Examiner. "This is a model agreement that changes the trade landscape forever, and this is an agreement that first and foremost benefits working people, something of great importance to all three of us here today," President Trump said. 12. DHS: 110 Percent Surge in Migrant Men Using Kids to Enter US, 'Rampant Fraud' -Washington Examiner

"Educated on a legal loophole that lets migrant 'families' with kids enter the United States, the Homeland Security Department reported Tuesday that men showing up with kids at the border has spiked 110 percent in just the last two years," Paul Bedard reports. "The department noted that children could be used by smugglers and drug traffickers to enter the country. Families are also using fraud to game the immigration system. The department said that 170 families have been caught lying about their relationships to enter the U.S." (Read more)

- Lord God, we cry out to You on behalf of these helpless and innocent children! We ask that they be rescued from the grip of these wicked men, and returned to their parents. Let justice be meted out to these perpetrators. We ask in Your Name, amen.

President Trump Honors President G.W. Bush

President Trump Honors President G.W. Bush

Melania and I join with a grieving Nation to mourn the loss of former President George H.W. Bush, who passed away last night.

Through his essential authenticity, disarming wit, and unwavering commitment to faith, family, and country, President Bush inspired generations of his fellow Americans to public service-to be, in his words, "a thousand points of light" illuminating the greatness, hope, and opportunity of America to the world.

President Bush always found a way to set the bar higher. As a young man, he captained the Yale baseball team, and then went on to serve as the youngest aviator in the United States Navy during the Second World War. Later in life, he rose to the pinnacle of American politics as a Congressman from Texas, envoy to China, Director of Central Intelligence, Vice President of eight years to President Ronald Reagan, and finally President of the United States.
With sound judgement, common sense, and unflappable leadership, President Bush guided our Nation, and the world, to a peaceful and victorious conclusion of the Cold War. As President, he set the stage for the decades of prosperity that have followed. And through all that he accomplished, he remained humble, following the quiet call to service that gave him a clear sense of direction.

Along with his full life of service to country, we will remember President Bush for his devotion to family-especially the love of his life, Barbara. His example lives on, and will continue to stir future Americans to pursue a greater cause. Our hearts ache with his loss, and we, with the American people, send our prayers to the entire Bush family, as we honor the life and legacy of 41.

Senate & Judicial Confirmations

November 28, 2018

Hi Friends,

I want to pass along some thoughts following the U.S. Senate election yesterday in Mississippi and the impact on future judicial confirmations. Here are some bullets:

1. Republicans now have a fairly substantial majority in the Senate: 53-47. This margin means that the Republican majority can lose three votes and still confirm nominees without any Democrat support. Senators Murkowski and Collins (both pro-abortion Republican Senators) have been unreliable votes on judicial nominees. Murkowski voted against Kavanaugh and - while Collins ultimately voted for him - her vote was hotly contested. If there is another Supreme Court vacancy in the next year, Collins will likely be under even more pressure as she faces re-election in 2020. Murkowski is by no means a lost vote on future confirmations; she voted for Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court and for Amy Coney Barrett to the 7th Circuit. So, Senator Murkowski remains a prospect to vote for future Supreme Court Justices.

2. The 53-seat majority will be more than just two seats better than the present Senate. Senator Flake will not be there, and he was an unreliable vote on judicial nominees. Senator Corker from Tennessee - who usually voted the right way but was still a concern - will also no longer be in the Senate. It remains to be seen how the new Republican Senators will vote on judicial nominations, but it appears the 53-vote majority is not only two votes better, but also an improvement in overall quality.
3. As we look forward to the future of judicial confirmations - and perhaps another Supreme Court confirmation in the next two years - we have a greater margin among Republicans - but fewer opportunities to pick up Senate Democrats. Senators Keitkamp and Donnelly (who voted for Gorsuch) won't be there and Senator Manchin (who voted for both Gorsuch and Kavanaugh, as well as Barrett to the 7th Circuit) does not face re-election for another six years and he may be less responsive to the will of his constituents - although I hope and pray the opposite is the case. Other Democrats might vote to confirm a Supreme Court nominee, but the prospects are not as good as the last two years.

In conclusion, the Senate elections are great news for the future of judicial confirmations.

Respectfully,

Phillip L. Jauregui

ALL HAIL THE POWER OF JESUS NAME

" . . . and they will make war on the Lamb, and the Lamb will conquer them, for he is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those with him are called and chosen and faithful." (Revelation 17:14)

Lyrics

All hail the power of Jesus' name! Let angels prostrate fall. Bring forth the royal diadem, and crown him Lord of all. Bring forth the royal diadem, and crown him Lord of all!

O seed of Israel's chosen race now ransomed from the fall, hail him who saves you by his grace, and crown him Lord of all. Hail him who saves you by his grace, and crown him Lord of all!
Let every tongue and every tribe responsive to his call, to him all majesty ascribe, and crown him Lord of all. To him all majesty ascribe, and crown him Lord of all!
Oh, that with all the sacred throng we at his feet may fall! We'll join the everlasting song and crown him Lord of all. We'll join the everlasting song and crown him Lord of all.

Mysterious Seismic Waves Ripple Around Entire Earth for 20 Minutes:

Stumped Scientist Says "I Don't Think I've Seen Anything Like It"

Just before 9.30am on Sunday 11 November, a series of unusual seismic pulses rippled around the world almost undetected. The waves rang for over 20 minutes, emanating about 15 miles off the shores of Mayotte - a tiny island in the Indian Ocean between Madagascar and Africa. From here, they reverberated across Africa, setting off geological sensors in Zambia, Kenya, and Ethiopia.

They crossed the Atlantic, and were picked up in Chile, New Zealand, Canada, and even Hawaii nearly 11,000 miles away, the National Geographic reports.

Despite their huge range, the waves were apparently not felt by anybody. However, one person monitoring the US Geological Survey's live stream of seismogram displays did notice the unusual waveform and posted it to Twitter, sparking the interest of other geologists and earthquake enthusiasts.

It was not only the power of the seismic waves which puzzled scientists when they began to examine the readings, but also the curiously regular shape of the waveform. In a typical earthquake, the rapid crash of a tectonic plate movement sends out what is known as a "wave train", composed of several types of waves moving at different speeds from the epicentre of the quake.

. . . The wave pattern seen on 11 November resembled these slow-moving waveforms usually seen following large earthquakes - only, in this case, there had not been a perceptible earthquake.

The bizarre waveform is what scientists call "monochromatic". Earthquakes normally produce waves of so many different frequencies, the wave readings appear more jumbled.

But the mystery waveform from Mayotte was a crisp zigzag, which repeated after steady 17-second intervals.

TEXAS SCHOOL REVERSES SHOCKING POLICY WHICH FORCED STUDENTS TO PRAY IN SECRET

A Texas Middle School has reversed its decision to ban students from openly praying during the school day.

The controversy began in early September when Hannah Allen, an eighth grade student at Honey Grove Middle School, gathered together with friends to pray for a fellow student who had been injured in an accident. Despite praying peacefully at an empty lunch table, they were immediately told to cease by the school's principal.

"Ya'll don't do that again," Principal Lee Frost reportedly barked at them.

The next day, things became even more concerning. Frost reportedly told the students that they would only be permitted to pray behind the cafeteria stage curtain, outside or when no one else was in the gym. Non-profit legal organization, First Liberty Institute, immediately came to the students' defense.

"Students should not have to hide or be exiled to pray for each other," First Liberty's Keisha Russell said in a letter to the school.

First Liberty reminded the schoolteacher that "students don't lose their First Amendment rights at the school house gate." "We're hoping this issue can be resolved quickly and easily," the letter concluded.

After receiving the clearly articulated letter from First Liberty, the school promptly reversed its bizarre decision. Administrators immediately amended their policy, allowing students to pray openly in front of other classmates, as long as their actions do not disrupt normal school activities.

About CHPP

About Capitol Hill Prayer Partners

Our Mission Statement

Capitol Hill Prayer Partners (CHPP) is a ministry which is positioned on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., helping members of the Body of Christ to "pray for those in authority over us" in our federal government. Our primary purpose is to offer intercession on site for the members of Congress and their staffs each day that the Senate and the House of Representatives are in session; and our chief prayer focus is that "God's will be done in earth, as it is in heaven." [Matthew 6:10].

Because Jesus Christ has shed His blood for all, we, too, pray for ALL, in a nonpartisan manner. Also, because the scriptures indicate that "the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" (James 4:17), we are confident that fervent prayer, offered in the halls of the highest chambers of government in our land, can avail much for America. Capitol Hill Prayer Partners welcomes those who feel called to join us, engaging in this strategic work of intercession for our nation: "For there is no power but of God; the powers that be are ordained of God." [Romans 13:1]

Operation Restoration

Once each week, on Sunday mornings and for 24 hours, join with others in OPERATION RESTORATION . . .

"Operation Restoration"

This initiative is based upon the Move of the Spirit that was launched last month during Operation Refiner's Fire. The LORD has shown us that He has used those fires to ignite the FIRE of the HOLY SPIRIT to visit our people, which He now yearns to keep burning among our people until the day of His return!

"Operation Restoration" is based on the promise of Scripture, recorded in
2 Chronicles 7:14,15.

It is written:
. . . "and if My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

"Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to the prayer offered in this place."

This is a weekly Solemn Assembly, where saints can feel free to gather each Sunday, to offer prayers of repentance before our Lord, for the many sins our nation has committed before Him.
Abba so desires to hear our prayers . . . He is just waiting to heal us!
You can join us, any Sunday, beginning at 9:00 a.m. EST by calling:
605-468-8850
Access Code: 221654#
Each week, our conference line for Operation Restoration will remain open until Monday morning at 9:00 a.m.EST -- allowing for 24 hours of nonstop prayer before our King of Kings, that He might, indeed, "heal our land." Amen.

God bless you!
