"Praying for All in Authority"
Tuesday, May 15, 2018
"When the Lord restored the fortunes of Zion,
we were like those who dreamed.
Our mouths were filled with laughter,
our tongues with songs of joy.
Then it was said among the nations,
'The Lord has done great things for them.'
The Lord has done great things for us,
and we are filled with joy." (Psalm 126:1-3)

1. Moscow says it won't supply advanced air defenses to Syria - Times of Israel
An aide to Russian President Vladimir Putin said Friday that Moscow has no current plans to supply an advanced air defense system to Syria.
Vladimir Kozhin, a member of Putin's inner circle, told the Russian newspaper Izvestia that there has been no talk of delivering the S-300 system to Damascus. "So far, there has been no talk of deliveries of modern new systems," he said, adding that the Assad regime has "all that is needed."

2. Al Qaeda chief says Israel's Tel Aviv is also Muslim land - Reuters
The United States has finalised preparations to move its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem in a ceremony scheduled for Monday.
President Donald Trump, who in December reversed decades of U.S. policy by recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, has sent his daughter Ivanka and son-in-law Jared Kushner - both White House advisers - as part of a delegation to the ceremony.
Trump's decision on the embassy has enraged Palestinians, who want Arab East Jerusalem, captured in the 1967 Middle East war, to be the capital of their own future state. The status of the city - home to sites holy to the Muslim, Jewish and Christian religions - is one of the biggest obstacles to reaching a peace agreement between Israel and the Palestinians.
Trump says he is making good on U.S. legislation and presidential pledges dating back decades. In his four-minute and 43 second message, Zawahri said all Muslim countries have effectively recognized Israel by signing the United Nations charter which calls for respecting the territorial integrity of every member state, including Israel.

3. 'The UN should be kicked out of Jerusalem' - Israel National News
Attorney Yair Gabbai, former Jerusalem council member and currently a member of "Keep Jerusalem," called on Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat to fight to remove the United Nations (UN) from its Jerusalem compound.
Gabbai noted that the UN headquarters is in a neighborhood adjacent to where the US Embassy will be inaugurated on Monday.
"We cannot leave the UN in Jerusalem," he said. "We are the sovereign entity here. We need to evacuate the UN from Jerusalem tomorrow morning."
"The UN headquarters is here for one purpose: They want Jerusalem divided, and we will not give them any power to promote this idea. We have to take them out of Jerusalem, and we have to build here thousands of new residential units for Jerusalemites.

4. Israel: Iran promoting violence on Israel's border with Gaza - World Israel News
Shin Bet (Israel's Security Agency) has exposed Iran's involvement in the daily violence on the Gaza border. The Agency on Monday revealed that Iran has been financing the riots on the Gaza border fence, which have been orchestrated by the Hamas terror group, an Iranian proxy.
The intelligence was gathered during the questioning of Gazans who infiltrated into Israel and were arrested by Israeli security forces. The IDF is making special preparations for massive riots on the border with Gaza that are expected in the coming days as Israel and the US celebrate the historic move of the American embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

5. Denouncing US Embassy Move to Jerusalem Alongside Gaza 'Genocide,' Angry Erdogan Recalls Turkish Envoys from Israel and US - Algemeiner
Turkey recalled its ambassadors from Tel Aviv and Washington, DC on Monday, as senior officials in Ankara frenziedly accused the US and Israel of sharing the blame for the "massacre" of Palestinian rioters on the border between Gaza and Israel and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan once again charged Israel with committing "genocide."
The diplomatic recalls were announced by Erdoğan on Monday evening as he prepared to fly back to Ankara from a visit to the United Kingdom. In a speech at London's prestigious Royal Institute for International Affairs earlier in the day, the Turkish leader remarked of the American Embassy move from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, "[W]e cannot help but feel like we are living through the dark times prior to the Second World War," going on to argue that the US had forfeited its position as a mediator in the conflict between the Palestinians and Israel.
In a separate interview with state television, Erdoğan was openly contemptuous, calling Israel a "terrorist state" and alleging that "what Israel has done is a genocide. We will not allow today to be the day the Muslim world loses Jerusalem," he warned.

1. First lady Melania Trump in hospital, underwent 'successful' kidney procedure - Fox News
First lady Melania Trump underwent an embolization procedure Monday to treat a benign kidney condition, the White House announced.
Mrs. Trump was treated at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and will likely be in the hospital for the rest of the week, according to the first lady's communications director.
"This morning, First Lady Melania Trump underwent an embolization procedure to treat a benign kidney condition. The procedure was successful and there were no complications," the communications director, Stephanie Grisham, said in a statement Monday. "Mrs. Trump is at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and will likely remain there for the duration of the week. The First Lady looks forward to a full recovery so she can continue her work on behalf of children everywhere." Grisham told Fox News that the first lady "is doing well. Doing well." (Read more)
- Lord, we thank you for taking good care of our precious First Lady. We ask for her to be completely healed, for a rapid recovery, and for rest before she returns to the White House.
- "And by His stripes we are healed." (Isaiah 53:5d)
2. United States Opens Its Israeli Embassy In Jerusalem - One America News Network
The United States officially opened its embassy to Israel in Jerusalem on Monday, fulfilling a pledge by President Donald Trump who has recognized the holy city as the Israeli capital.
"Today we open the United States embassy in Jerusalem, Israel," U.S. ambassador to Israel David Friedman said at the beginning of the inaugural ceremony, attended by a U.S. delegation from Washington and Israeli leaders.
On the Gaza border, at least 38 Palestinians were killed by Israeli gunfire in the latest in a round of protests dubbed the "Great March of Return", health officials said.
Trump's recognition of contested Jerusalem as Israel's capital in December outraged Palestinians, who said the United States could no longer serve as an honest broker in any peace process with Israel.
Palestinians seek East Jerusalem as the capital of a state they want to establish in the occupied West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
Israel regards all of the city, including the eastern sector it captured in the 1967 Middle East war and annexed, as its "eternal and indivisible capital" in a move that has not won international recognition. (Read more)
- Lord, we thank You that President Trump had the courage to acknowledge what history has shown for 3,000 years. Let the joy of the Israelis continue in spite of the hatred of those around them. We pray Your holy protection around the US embassy from any and all attacks.
- "No weapon formed against your shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against you in judgment you shall condemn." (Isaiah 54:17)
3. Israel says three 'armed terrorists' among 52 reported dead in Gaza border clashes - Fox News
At least three of the 52 Palestinians reportedly killed Monday in clashes ahead of the Jerusalem opening of the U.S. Embassy to Israel were "armed terrorists" caught trying to plant a bomb near the Gaza border fence, Israel's military said.
More than 35,000 protesters amassed at a dozen locations along the security fence, with many engaging in skirmishes that pushed the death toll Monday to the highest in Gaza since a 2014 cross-border standoff between the militant group Hamas and the Jewish state, according to the Associated Press.
Gaza health officials told the news agency that 52 people so far have been killed in Monday's violence, and at least 1,200 have been wounded. The relocation of the embassy from Tel Aviv, a key campaign promise of President Trump, has infuriated the Palestinians, who seek east Jerusalem as a future capital.
"Moments ago, an IDF patrol foiled a bomb-laying attack by a cell of three armed terrorists near Rafah, close to the border," the Israeli military said Monday. "This is a particularly violent protest point. The troops responded with fire at the terrorists. The terrorists were killed." (Read more)
- Lord, we thank You that the IDF was prepared for these riots, but we ask that You step into the fracas and stop the violence. We pray that Your Angelic Host would stand guard with the people of Israel.
- " . . . from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard: and I have come because of your words." (Daniel 10:12)
4. Mueller Indicted A Russian Company That Didn't Even Exist, Court Transcripts Say - Daily Wire
This week, one of the Russian companies accused by Special Counsel Robert Mueller of funding a conspiracy to meddle in the 2016 U.S. presidential election was revealed in court to not have existed during the time period alleged by Mueller's team of prosecutors, according to a lawyer representing the Defendant.
U.S. Magistrate Judge G. Michael Harvey asked Eric Dubelier, one of two lawyers representing the accused Russian company, Concord Management and Consulting LLC, if he was representing a third company listed in Mueller's indictment.
"What about Concord Catering?" Harvey asked Dubelier. "The government makes an allegation that there's some association. I don't mean for you to - do you represent them, or not, today? And are we arraigning them as well?"
"We're not," Dubelier responded. "And the reason for that, Your Honor, is I think we're dealing with a situation of the government having indicted the proverbial ham sandwich."
"That company didn't exist as a legal entity during the time period alleged by the government," Dubelier continued. "If at some later time they show me that it did exist, we would probably represent them. But for purposes of today, no, we do not." (Read more)
- Lord, once again we pray that You will put an end to Mr. Mueller's "investigation." It is becoming increasingly obvious that he has gone far afield from the original plan.
- "The violence of the wicked will destroy them, because they refuse to do justice." (Proverbs 21:7)
5. Why Did the FBI Spy on Trump and/or Lie to Congress? -Townhall
Now that revelations have come to light that at worst have the Federal Bureau of Investigation placing a spy within the ranks of the Trump 2016 campaign, and at best have the FBI hiding evidence from congressional oversight it is clear that the Department of Justice, and specifically the FBI, even now have top brass making decisions that must be outed, removed, and if necessary-charged.
I admit you may not have heard anything about these revelations because, aside from the dedicated work of Kimberly Strassel at the Wall Street Journal, few outlets have dedicated almost any coverage to the matter. But pause just a second on what my opening sentence claims.
There is an increasingly likely scenario being sniffed out by heads of congressional oversight committees that adds up to the previously most trusted bureau of law enforcement on American soil having actually planted a "source" on the inside of a campaign for President with the express purpose of entrapping officials into admission of some sort of corrupt collusion with foreign powers. (Read more)
- Father, once again we pray that You will not just reveal the hidden things, but remove all corruption within the "deep state" and grant President Trump the ability to do his job without being hindered.
- "Therefore do not fear them. For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed and hidden that will not be known." (Matthew 10:26)
6. Minnesota Democrats wage war on God, faith and American history - Fox News
A bill in the Minnesota Senate that would allow schools in the state to voluntarily display the national motto "In God We Trust" has state Democrats spiraling into fits of outrage, because God offends them.
By waging war on God, they are showing contempt for people of faith and disregard for the history of our country. On the floor of the Minnesota Senate, Democratic Sen. Scott Dibble suggested using "Allah" in place of "God" - as in "In Allah We Trust." Dibble wondered how the bill's sponsor, Republican Sen. Dan Hall, would react, since the words "God" and "Allah" (an Arabic word) mean the same thing. Here's a little history lesson for Dibble:
"In God We Trust" was recognized as our nation's motto more than 200 years ago when Francis Scott Key penned it in "The Star Spangled Banner" as he watched the Battle of Fort McHenry during the War of 1812. He wrote: "And this be our motto - 'In God is our trust.' So this motto goes almost as far back as the founding of our country. It's very much ingrained in our heritage. (Read more)
- Lord, there is a huge disconnect with people who do not see the difference between the One True Living God, and the false god of the Islamic religion. We pray for truth to win over lies.
- "You shall have no other gods before me." (Exodus 20:3)
7. Illinois Senate Approves Bill Requiring Public Schools to Teach LGBT History- Christian Post
The Illinois Senate approved a bill Wednesday requiring all public schools in the state to teach about the contributions of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people in history.
If it becomes law, Senate Bill 3249, which was approved 34-18 according to The State Journal Register, would require that textbooks purchased for use in public schools "accurately portray the diversity of our society, including the role and contributions of people protected under the Illinois Human Rights Act, and must be non-discriminatory as to certain characteristics under the Act." It would also become effective be July 1, 2019. (Read more)
- Lord, we pray for our children. With this bill and the bill in California that could cause problems for pastors, the move to confuse our children is out of control. We pray for repentance and revival in America, to flush away the sins of our entire nation, and bring righteousness to our land.
- "In mercy and truth atonement is provided for iniquity; and by fear of the Lord one departs from evil." (Proverbs 16:6)
8. Congo health ministry confirms 2 Ebola cases in new outbreak -Washington Post
Congo's government on Tuesday declared a new outbreak of Ebola in the country's rural northwest, after two cases of the deadly virus were confirmed in Bikoro. Congo's Health Ministry said that of the five samples sent to the National Institute of Biological Research in Kinshasa, two came back positive for the Zaire strain of Ebola in the country's Equateur Province.
The samples were gathered after the Equateur Province Health Ministry notified Kinshasa on May 3 of some 21 cases of a hemorrhagic fever in the Ikoko Impenge area, including 17 deaths, according to the World Health Organization and Congo's government. There are various hemorrhagic fevers.
A team was sent by the World Health Organization and Doctors Without Borders over the weekend to investigate and strengthen coordination. The five new cases were then identified and sent to the laboratory, Congo's government said.
Since that time, no deaths have been reported among those hospitalized or among health workers treating the ill, it said. (Read more)

9. North Korea says it will dismantle nuke test site May 23-25 - Washington Times
North Korea said Saturday that it will dismantle its nuclear test site on May 23-25, in a dramatic event that would set up leader Kim Jong-un's summit with President Donald Trump next month.
Kim had revealed plans to shut down the country's northeastern testing ground by the end of May during his summit with South Korean President Moon Jae-in last month. Analysts say the closure of the site is mostly symbolic and doesn't represent a material step toward denuclearization.
In a statement carried by state media, North Korea's Foreign Ministry said that all of the tunnels at the site will be destroyed by explosion, and that observation and research facilities and ground-based guard units will also be removed.
The North plans to invite journalists from the United States, South Korea, China, Russia and Britain to inspect the process, the statement said.
Following the Moon-Kim summit, Moon's office said Kim was willing to disclose the process to international experts, but the North's statement Saturday didn't include any mention about allowing experts on the site. The North's announcement comes days after Washington announced that the historic summit between Kim and Trump will be held June 12 in Singapore.
Seoul, which shuttled between Washington and Pyongyang to set up the Trump-Kim meeting, has said Kim has genuine interest in dealing away his nuclear weapons in return for economic benefits. (Read more)
- Lord, thank You for this move on the part of North Korea. We ask that Your Spirit flood that nation, changing minds and hearts, and opening them to the Gospel and to Your life-changing Presence.

The prophetic peril of Gaza
On August 15, 2005, Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon began forcibly removing Jewish settlers from their homes in Gaza under what was known as Israeli Disengagement. By September 12, Sharon had unilaterally given up Gaza as a peace offering to the "Palestinians," who had adopted the slogan "Gaza today, Jerusalem tomorrow." On August 15, 2005, The Daily Jot reported: "It is almost chilling to watch the events leading up to Israeli Prime Minister Arial Sharon's so-called "disengagement" plan as the world pressures Israel to unilaterally give up covenant land for the mere hope upon hope that there might be a semblance of peace between Israel and the Palestinians."
The 8/15/2005 Jot continued: "Former Sharon cabinet member and once Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu plead with Israeli leadership last week to end the disengagement plan and to come to its senses. Like many, Netanyahu believes giving up land without concessions is a demonstration that terrorism pays and that Israel's national security will be forever threatened. Certainly Israel's military understands the significance of Netanyahu's concerns. Middle East News Line reports that Israel's military has revised its withdrawal plan to account for a scenario under which the eviction of Jewish residents from the Gaza Strip would be completed amid massive Palestinian fire and heavy Israeli casualties.
"Netanyahu called disengagement an "evil" and urged Members of the Knesset to stop it. He said he has warned the Sharon government that the Palestinians will only use the Gaza land to establish a terrorist base of operations and that the nation of Israel's defense and security may be undermined by disengagement. He said, "I am calling on all those who grasp the danger: Gather strength and do the right thing. I don't know if the entire move can be stopped, but it still might be stopped in its initial stages." And he warned, "The government is advancing in total blindness. They have eyes but don't see. They have ears but don't hear."" By June 2006, "Palestinians" were launching missiles from Gaza at civilian targets in Israel.
Fast forward over a decade later and the headlines read "Clashes erupt along Gaza-Israel border ahead of US Embassy inauguration" and "100,000 Palestinians gather for March of Return from Gaza." Reports are saying the Hamas-led "Palestinians" want to take Jerusalem and prevent the US from moving its embassy there. The 2005 Disengagement is a reflection of Jeremiah 6:14, "They have healed also the hurt of the daughter of my people lightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace." Netanyahu and others who opposed "Disengagement" 13 years ago look like prophets. Sadly, those who warned of the peril of Gaza at the time are experiencing the consequences of such foolish leadership today.
Have a blessed and powerful day!

1. United Methodist Church Corrects 'God Isn't Male or Female' Amendment Mistake - Christian Post
Days after the United Methodist Church voted down an amendment to its Book of Discipline that would have said God is not "male or female," the denomination says there will be a revote as the text had an error. The amendment that failed to pass on Monday was centered on gender equality, but a sentence "that should not have been included in the amendment was removed by a vote of 746-56" was "inadvertently included in the version that was distributed," the denomination said in a statement.
That sentence reads as follows: "The United Methodist Church recognizes it is contrary to Scripture and to logic to say that God is male or female, as maleness and femaleness are characteristics of human bodies and cultures, not characteristics of the divine."
The text, as approved by the General Conference, should have read: "As the Holy Scripture reveals, both men and women are made in the image of God and, therefore, men and women are of equal value in the eyes of God. The United Methodist Church acknowledges the long history of discrimination against women and girls. The United Methodist Church shall confront and seek to eliminate discrimination against women and girls, whether in organizations or in individuals, in every facet of its life and in society at large. The United Methodist Church shall work collaboratively with others to address concerns that threaten the cause of women's and girl's equality and well-being." (Read more)
- Lord, we are thankful for this correction. We ask that You reveal to all Methodists and their leadership the truth of the Gospel, and allow them to find personal relationship to You.
- "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." (John 14:6)
2. The Vatican denies agreeing deal with Saudi Arabia to build churches for Christians living in the Muslim country - Daily Mail
The Vatican has denied making a deal with Saudi Arabia to build churches for Christian worshippers in the Arab country.
Reports in Middle Eastern media claimed a historic agreement had been made between Cardinal Jean-Louis Tauran and Mohammed bin Abdel Karim Al-Issa of the Muslim World League. But a spokesperson for the Vatican said the report was 'false'. (Read more)
- Father, we ask for You to open up Saudi Arabia to the power of Your Holy Spirit. Buildings do not matter as much as Your power touching the lives and hearts of the people.
- "I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them." (Ezekiel 36:27)
3. Catholic university opens sex-segregated prayer space for Muslim students - The College Fix
A Catholic university in Davenport, Iowa recently opened a prayer space dedicated to Islamic worship, honoring the legacy of a deceased professor of the school who taught a world religions class.
The prayer room, developed by a senior of St. Ambrose University in collaboration with its Saudi Student Association, is designed "specifically for students of the Islamic faith," according to a report on local NPR station WVIK.
The room features " sinks for ritual foot-washing," as well as "separate areas for male and female worshippers, since Islamic tradition calls for different prayer areas for each sex."
Matt Mahoney, the St. Ambrose senior who helped design the room, called the prayer space "outstanding." "It's uniquely Ambrosian, and it just sort of shows our commitment to all different faiths," Mahoney said of the sex-segregated worship room.
The project was created in honor of Joe DeFrancisco, a St. Ambrose religion professor who died last year. (Read more)
- Lord, we lift this university before You, and pray for the revelation of the truth about Islam to come into their minds and hearts.

BREAKING: At Least 13 Dead, 40 Wounded in Multiple Pentecostal Church Attacks Across Indonesia
A family of six launched suicide attacks on Christians attending Sunday services at three churches in Indonesia's second-largest city of Surabaya, killing at least 13 people and wounding 40, officials said.
Indonesia, the world's largest Muslim-majority country, has seen a recent resurgence in homegrown militancy and police said the family who carried out Sunday's attacks were among 500 Islamic State sympathizers who had returned from Syria.
"The husband drove the car, an Avanza, that contained explosives and rammed it into the gate in front of that church," East Java police spokesman Frans Barung Mangera told reporters at the regional police headquarters in Surabaya.
The wife and two daughters were involved in an attack on a second church and at the third church "two other children rode the motorbike and had the bomb across their laps," Mangera said.
The two daughters were aged 12 and 9 while the other two, thought to be the man's sons, were 18 and 16, police said. Police blamed the bombings on the Islamic State-inspired group Jemaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD).

'Lost' asteroid to pass closely May 15
Asteroid 2010 WC9 will pass at about half the moon's distance, in one of the closest approaches ever observed of an asteroid of this size.
Asteroid 2010 WC9 will safely pass at about half's the moon's distance on Tuesday, May 15, 2018. Estimates of its size range from 197 to 427 feet (60-130 meters), making the May 15 pass one of the closest approaches ever observed of an asteroid of this size. This asteroid was "lost" and then found again. The Catalina Sky Survey in Arizona first detected it on November 30, 2010, and astronomers watched it until December 10, when it became too faint to see. They didn't have enough observations to track its orbit fully and so predict its return. On May 8, 2018 - almost eight years later - astronomers discovered an asteroid and gave it the temporary designation ZJ99C60. Then they realized it was asteroid 2010 WC9, returning.
During the 2018 return, closest approach of asteroid 2010 WC9 will happen on May 15 at 6:05 pm EDT. At that time, the asteroid will be 0.53 lunar-distances from Earth (126,419 miles or 203,453 km from Earth). According to orbit calculations made by NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, the May 15 close approach is the closest of this particular asteroid in nearly 300 years.
Is this a large asteroid? No, not by any absolute measure. But it is larger than the estimated size of the Chelyabinsk meteor, which entered Earth's atmosphere, breaking windows in six Russian cities and causing some 1,500 people to seek medical attention, in 2013. Estimates of asteroid 2010 WC9's diameter range from 197 to 427 feet (60-130 meters); estimates of the Chelyabinsk meteor's size before encountering Earth's atmosphere center around 65 feet (20 meters).
Asteroid 2010 WC9 is an Apollo type space rock. At no time will it be visible to the eye as it sweeps past Earth. It might get as bright as magnitude +11, which would make it bright enough to be seen in amateur telescopes pointed at the correct location and time.
Asteroid 2010 WC9 is travelling though space at a speed of 28,655 miles per hour (46,116 km/h)

BREAKING NEWS!
"By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work." (Genesis 2:2)
We have now completed the reading of the Whole Word of God, from Genesis to Revelation . . . 36 times! We praise God for the literal hundreds who have joined us over the past year and a half to accomplish this feat, and we know that our Lord must be deeply pleased to have heard His Word read back to Him . . . 36 times.
> > > As we meditated upon this milestone, we were visited by the hush of the Holy Spirit, so we waited upon Him for a word. Our Lord reminded us that, in His own week of working, that after six days . . . He RESTED.
Abba shared with us that we have now entered a NEW SEASON in our readings . . . one that would include a "seventh day rest" for the people of God.
And so, beginning this week, our Readathon WILL continue (as above) for SIX DAYS, but will be suspended on Sunday mornings, 12:01 a.m. to 6:00 a.m., that we might rest before Him and dwell in His presence, abiding even more deeply in Him.
It is written: "So there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God." (Hebrews 4:9)
We welcome you back every Monday night through Saturday morning, and then we wish you . . . shalom!
