New Title X Regulation Will Protect Life
President Trump Taking Major Step Toward Ending Taxpayers' Forced Partnership with Abortion Industry, says Family Research Council
WASHINGTON, D.C. (Friday, May 18th) -- The Trump administration is expected to announce today new regulations for the Title X family planning program that reinstates President Ronald Reagan's "protect life rule" which protects the integrity of the program by preventing the "co-location" of family planning clinics with abortion clinics. This rule will separate abortion centers, such as Planned Parenthood, from the thousands of clinics that provide Title X services without cutting any funds.
Family Research Council President Tony Perkins commented:
"President Trump's HHS is taking a major step toward the ultimate goal of ending taxpayers' forced partnership with the abortion industry. The new regulations will draw a bright line between abortion centers and family planning programs -- just as the federal law requires and the Supreme Court has upheld.
"It's a shame that the federal Title X family planning program has been co-mingled with abortion ever since President Bill Clinton issued regulations not only removing the wall of separation President Reagan issued, but even requiring groups to refer for abortion. The result is that Planned Parenthood -- an organization that's been under criminal investigation for selling baby body parts -- gets roughly $60 million per year through what has become a slush fund for the abortion giant.
"Planned Parenthood and other abortion centers will now have to choose between dropping their abortion services from any location that gets Title X dollars and moving those abortion operations offsite. Either way, this will loosen the group's hold on tens of millions of tax dollars.
"The pro-life Congress will get another crack at Planned Parenthood's federal gravy train in multiple federal programs in which they get over $400 million each year. Until then, President Trump continues to fulfill his campaign promise that his administration will advocate for mothers and their unborn children every day he occupies the White House and take important steps to ensure taxpayers are not subsidizing the abortion industry," concluded Perkins.

Melania Trump returns to White House after kidney procedure
First lady Melania Trump returned to the White House on Saturday after undergoing a kidney procedure earlier this week.
Her office said in a statement that she is "resting comfortably and remains in high spirits" after returning home. The statement also thanked everyone who had sent their best wishes to her -- noting that it had received "thousands of calls and emails."
The first lady underwent an embolization procedure on Monday at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Such a procedure is typically performed to cut off blood supply to a tumor, aneurysm or abnormal growth, typically growing in the kidney or liver, to shrink it.
Her office said on Monday that there has been no complications. President Trump visited her throughout the week and had also thanked well-wishers for their support.
On Wednesday, she said she was "feeling great" and looking forward to returning home. (Fox News) Read more

Shavu'ot or The Day of Pentecost
|
||||
Shavu'ot or The Day of Pentecost
Shavu'ot or The Day of Pentecost begins this weekend in Israel . . . Shavua is week in Hebrew, and Shavu'ot means weeks or in this case 7 weeks, on the eve of the last day would be the beginning to the 50th day, from the second day of Passover "Pessah". The second day of the Feast of Pessah was the Feast of First Fruits, on the Jewish calendar called "Omer". The day our Messiah rose from the grave, it was the day of the Resurrection. It is also worth noting that the number fifty is the number for the Holy Spirit. So Yeshua said He would send the Holy Spirit, and He did it on the 50th day after His resurrection.
It is the second of the three Pilgrim festivals and it happens in Israel on the 6th of Sivan, (Jewish Calendar) this year on May 20th and everywhere but Israel for two days 20th and 21th. It has other names in Hebrew such as Hag Ha-Katzir meaning Harvest Festival. It was when the ingathering of barley crop ended and the season of wheat harvest began. But Yom Ha-Kikkurim (Day of First Fruits or Shavu'ot in the Jewish World, and Pentecost in the Christian World)

Prayers and Presidents:
Our 20th President: James Garfield
(1881)
[Each week, we will publish one prayer that was spoken by each of our presidents, in chronological order. Today's prayer was written by our 20th president, James Garfield.]
Note:
The assassination of James A. Garfield, the 20th President of the United States, began when he was shot at 9:30 am on July 2, 1881, less than four months into his term as President, and ended in his death 79 days later on September 19, 1881. He was shot by Charles J. Guiteau at the Baltimore and Potomac Railroad Station in Washington, D.C., and died in Elberon, New Jersey. Guiteau's motive was revenge against Garfield for an imagined political debt. (Source: Wikpedia)
James Garfield stated in his Inaugural Address, March 4, 1881, just 200 days before his death:
"Let our people find a new meaning in the divine oracle which declares that 'a little child shall lead them,' for our own little children will soon control the destinies of the Republic . . .
Our children . . . will surely bless their fathers and their fathers' God that the Union was preserved, that slavery was overthrown, and that both races were made equal before the law." (Source: The American Minute)
