Next Weekend! AWAKEN THE DAWN!

Next Weekend! AWAKEN THE DAWN!

October 6 - 9, 2017

Dear CHPP Family,

By now, knowing those who are reading and praying over the Daily Brief each week, and these Legislative Snapshots each weekend, we are confident that all of you are fully aware of a great event that is to take place next weekend here in Washington, D.C.: AWAKEN THE DAWN.

This event was borne out of a vision our God gave to David Bradshaw over two years ago. We praise God that David has been faithful and obedient to carry out the mandate of that vision ever since . . .
AT THE GATHERING: . . . You will find . . .

50+ tents from all 50 states filled with music, prayer, and worship - day and night -- on our National Mall

Outreaches all over Washington, DC

Featuring Rise Up on the final day of the event - Oct 9 (Led by Lou Engle)

To quote from their website:

We have reserved the National Mall in Washington, D.C. on Oct. 6-9, 2017. We are calling America to an unprecedented worship movement on the National Mall. When we gather around the invisible God, the impossible becomes possible.

We will gather in 50+ tents covering the National Mall. It will be a tent-city filled with worship, music, prayer, and the gospel.

Each of the 50 states will have a tent for day and night prayer and relational connection. There will be larger regional tents with full sound systems for day and night worship and music. Nothing like this has ever been done before in our nation's capital. Washington, D.C. will be a resting place for the presence of God and a staging ground for missions.

On the final day-all day-we are extremely excited to partner with Rise Up in a big stage venue on the National Mall! On this final day, we will worship, pray, preach the gospel with signs and wonders, and commission a generation to complete the Great Commission!

To read the detailed account of David Bradshaw's dream, please go here.
It's not too late to join!

Capitol Hill Prayer Partners is working with a number of other ministries in Washington, D.C. to coordinate a city-wide prayer strike on Sunday, October 8th,
from 2 - 4 p.m.

We are blessed to know that Intercessors for America has taken the lead in coordinating this time of prayer for all of us. Thank you, IFA!
As a part of this initiative, members of our CHPP team will be in position to welcome you at the west front of the U.S. Capitol Building, by the fountain. We will be standing alongside staff from the Congressional Prayer Caucus Foundation (CPCF), to offer direction as you pray for Congress.
There are seven other sites that can be visited that day, too -- each one with their own prayer emphasis and hosting ministry team.
We welcome all of you to participate in any one of these prayer strikes from 2 - 4 p.m. on Sunday, October 8. All intercessors will gather at one assembly area; then "fan out" from there to visit their own points of interest.
You can learn more about this strategy, including the map for the day and prayer guides, by visiting the IFAwebsite here.

Legislative Program for next week

Mr. Speaker, on Monday, the House will meet at noon for morning hour and 2 p.m. for legislative business. Votes will be postponed until 6:30.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, the House will meet at 10 a.m. for morning hour and noon for legislative business.
On Thursday, the House will meet at 9 a.m. for legislative business.
Last votes of the week are expected no later than 3 p.m.
And on Friday, no votes are expected in the House.
Mr. Speaker, the House will consider a number of suspensions next week, a complete list of which will be announced by close of business tomorrow.
Now, in addition, the House will consider H.R. 36, the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, also, as I like to call it, “Micah's Law.”
Mr. Speaker, I spent some time on Tuesday with a young boy named Micah. Micah gave me this bracelet, “Miracles for Micah,” and I wear it because Micah was born premature at 20 weeks. If you look at a picture of Micah, he was the size of a bag of M&Ms. Today, he is happy, he is healthy, he is 5 years old, and no one would know the difference.
Mr. Speaker, all life is a miracle, and we have an obligation here to speak for those who cannot speak for themselves.
I look forward to the House passing this compassionate bill next week that will protect the lives of countless others just like Micah.
Finally, Mr. Speaker, the House will take up the FY18 budget resolution. Our Republican budget balances within 10 years, provides for a strong national defense, eliminates burdensome regulations, and cracks down on waste, fraud, and abuse. Passing this budget will also enable tax reform, which is the key to economic growth and seeing that Americans take home more of their hard-earned dollars.
