1. Nine Major Moments From the Landmark Supreme Court Battle Over Gay Unions: 'Core Definition' of Marriage 'Will No Longer Be Operable' - TheBlaze
The U.S. Supreme Court heard oral arguments on Tuesday for Obergefell v. Hodges, a landmark same-sex marriage case that will have a profound impact on the ability of American states to define legal unions, with the justices appearing starkly divided on how to tackle the issue.
A range of opinions were evident among the nine Supreme Court justices, with some making it known through their lines of questioning that they favor legalization - and others pausing to consider the historical tradition of upholding opposite-sex marriage. (Read more)
- Father we continue to ask that Your Spirit move on the hearts of these judges not to attempt to redefine marriage.
- "The winds blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit." (John 3:8)
2. URGENT! Tomorrow: Key Date Inside the Court Chambers: Decisions Made that Will Affect Final Verdicts on Same-Sex Marriage - Intercessors for America
This Friday, May 1st, Noon-3PM Eastern, the Justices the United States Supreme Court will hold a conference to discuss their their initial decisions regarding Tuesday's hearings on same-sex marriage. They will also select which Justices will write the majority and minority court opinions. We are encouraged to pray for them during this critical hour while they are in "The Valley of Decision".
You are welcome to participate in national prayer conference call hosted by Intercessors for America as the Justice begin their meeting, 12:15PM Eastern, using 712-432-0075, access code 1412452#. Even if you cannot join the call, please consider praying 12-3PM and share this email with other praying brothers and sisters.
To listen to the audio recording by Dave Kubal, President of IFA, please go here.
- Father God, we thank You that You are the Omniscient One and that nothing escapes Your attention. We thank You that, tomorrow, as these nine justices "huddle" behind closed doors to make these administrative decisions that will have weight on the final verdict of the same-sex marriage cases heard this week, that You are there.
We ask You, Lord, for a HUGE turnout on this conference call, so that hundreds of Your people can join forces in prayer as these decisions are being made. Thank You, Lord, in Jesus' name, amen and amen.
- "Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power . . " (Psalm 110:3)
3. 'Embarrassed' Son of Mom Who Slapped Him When She Saw Him With Baltimore Rioters Speaks Out - TheBlaze
The "embarrassed" Baltimore protester who was yanked from the streets after his mother caught him with rioters spoke out Wednesday.
"I understand how much my mama really cares about me," Michael Singleton told ABC News. "I just got to try to do better." (Read more)
- ___Father, this woman has been touted as the "Mother of the Year" because of her actions. Thank You that her son has listened and sees the caring of her heart. Bless this family, Lord, and bring truth and new life to the young boy. Keep him safe from the foolish rioting and other actions that will destroy his life.
- "He who spares his rod hates his son, but he who loves him disciplines him promptly." (Proverbs 13:24)
4. Young Baltimore Protesters Were in Middle of Profane Rant When This Woman Walked Up and Made Them Go Quiet - TheBlaze
When an elderly woman witnessed a group of young Baltimore protesters cursing and acting "indignant" in the street, she was moved to offer some powerful advice that temporarily quieted them down. Baltimore remains on edge following the death of Freddie Gray, who died of a serious spine injury while in police custody . . .
Enter the elderly woman with years and years of wisdom. "We got class about ourselves! We don't need to be here acting indignant and cursing!" she shouted. "We don't need to do that."
She continued: "You show them that you've got some intelligence. You've got more intelligence than that . . . We're going to do this in decency and all." (Read more)
- Lord thank You for the voices of the mature adults who stood up to say that these rioters were wrong. We ask Your Spirit to move on the hearts of the young in all of these cities - to change their demonically controlled minds with a sweeping change.
- "Do not rebuke an older man, but exhort him as a father . . . the older women as mothers . . ." (1 Timothy 5:1)
5. Angry Sheriff Says People Inside Baltimore Church Did Something 'Hard to Believe' as Deputies Patrolled Street -TheBlaze
People giving the middle finger to law enforcement during the unrest in Baltimore isn't necessarily an unusual sight - but from people inside a church? That's exactly Maryland sheriff Mike Lewis told TheBlaze he saw Tuesday night.
Lewis traveled with deputies from Wicomico County after Gov. Larry Hogan requested law enforcement assistance in Baltimore. (Read more)
- Father we are appalled that people who call themselves Christians would treat law enforcement officers like this. Lord so many Christian churches seem to have fallen away from their First Love- Jesus Christ- so we ask for You to move in and bring conviction to their hearts.
- "He who does not love does not know God, for God is love." (1 John 4:8)
6. At Least 60 arrested in NYC Freddie Gray protests - Washington Times
Several hundred people gathered in New York on Wednesday to protest the death of Freddie Gray, a Baltimore man who was critically injured in police custody, and at least 60 people were arrested.
Protesters first rallied in Manhattan's Union Square, where they chanted "no justice, no peace" and "hands up, don't shoot," a reference to the police killing of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, last year. Police officers stood and watched.
A police helicopter hovered overhead, and a police loudspeaker warned the protesters that they would be arrested if they marched in the street. (Read more)
- Lord, it appears as if there are connections between the protesters across the country - moving as groups to disrupt and destroy cities at the behest of outside groups. We ask that You destroy the plans of the enemy, and break up this concerted effort to disrupt.
- "For the arms of the wicked shall be broken, but the Lord upholds the righteous." (Psalm 37:17)
7. No trust: Texas military to monitor feds - WND
The Lone Star State's Republican governor, Greg Abbott, is answering citizens' concerns over Operation Jade Helm 15, a lengthy military campaign to train U.S. troops in an urban setting, with a call to arms of his own: he's ordered members of the Texas military to monitor the special-ops exercises.
Jade Helm, as WND has previously reported, kicks off in July in seven states, including Texas, Utah, California and Colorado. The two-month campaign involves special forces with all four branches of the U.S. military working with local law enforcement, as well as with FBI and DEA officials, to respond to mock hostilities in community settings. The campaign has launched a swell of opposition from social-media posters, who say the mission is little more than an attempt for the federal government to pave the way to declare martial law. (Read more)
- Father we rejoice that Governor Abbott has seen a potential problem, and has moved to monitor it. We ask that the governors in all other states that will be affected by JADE HELM 15 to do the same. In Jesus' name, amen and amen.
- "Do not be afraid of sudden terror, nor of trouble from the wicked when it comes; for the Lord will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being caught." (Proverbs 3:25-26)
8. Teacher ousted for 'saying Obama not Christian' School claims woman also said anyone who voted for him didn't follow Jesus- WND
A middle-school teacher in Dublin, Georgia, was tossed from school - and her job - for allegedly telling her students President Obama isn't a Christian. Nancy Perry is now due to retire at the end of the year, said Dublin Schools' spokesman Chuck Ledbetter, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.
"It is not the place of teachers to attempt to persuade students about religious or political beliefs," Ledbetter said, in the news outlet. "In doing so, the teacher was wrong and that has been communicated to her . . . Just as importantly, we are communicating this message to all staff of the school district."
Perry has denied making the comments. Ledbetter has apologized for her statements, just the same, USA Today reported. (Read more)
- Lord, it is deeply obvious to us that Obama is not a born again Christian because the fruits of the Holy Spirit are not evident in his actions. Ms. Perry may have chosen an improper setting to speak her mind, but we ask Your grace and mercy upon her. In Jesus' name, amen and amen.
- "The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and He delights in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down, for the Lord upholds him with His hand." (Psalm 37:23-24)
9. A German Woman Started Putting Yellow Stickers on Israeli Students Visiting Auschwitz. At First They Didn't Get It, but Then It Became Clear - TheBlaze
A group of Israeli students visiting the Auschwitz death camp in Poland last week were accosted by a German mother who told them she had a yellow postcard for them from Germany.
The 11th- and 12th-graders initially weren't sure why she wanted to give them a postcard with a rectangular yellow sticker, and only when she began peeling little yellow hearts off of it and sticking them on their jackets did they realize the significance of her act.
"My people marked you with yellow stars and I brought this from Germany with love," said the woman, who said her name is Ruth, as she affixed the hearts with one hand, held a red rose in the other, all while her baby slept in a harness on her chest.
"I cannot ask you for forgiveness of what my people committed to you, but as a sign of love and an outstretched hand, I would like to put a heart on the place where my forefathers have put a yellow star," she said.(Read more)
- Lord, in this case we can't know the true motives of this woman's heart. We can guess. But we pray that awareness of what happened in Germany during WWII will ring through the hearts of all, creating a well of love so that no one ever forgets. In Jesus' name, amen.
- "Let not mercy and truth forsake you, bind them around your neck. Write them on the tablet of your heart." (Proverbs 3:3)
10. Report: Egypt Preparing Large Assault Against ISIS in Libya - Breitbart
Egypt is getting ready to launch a large air and ground attack against the Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL) in eastern Libya DebkaFile reports, quoting military and intelligence sources.
The Obama administration is reportedly opposed to the operation. "Egypt is massing large-scale ground and air forces in the Western Desert along the Libyan border, in preparation for a military campaign to capture eastern Libya - Cyrenaica - from the Islamist State of Syria and Iraq - ISIS - occupation," reports DebkaFile. (Read more)
- Father we ask that Your Spirit hover around and over the Egyptian forces that are fighting ISIS, revealing Yourself to them, bringing truth amid the battles. In Jesus' name, amen and amen.
"For God so loved the world, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16)

1. Religious portfolio is sticking point in coalition talks -Ynet News
Netanyahu signed coalition agreements with Kulanu and United Torah Judaism, but conflict looms as Yisrael Beytenu and Bayit Yehudi take issue with promises made to haredi parties.
The prime minister met with Bayit Yehudi Chairman Naftali Bennett on Tuesday night, prior to the agreement with Kahlon and UTJ.
The Likud proposal presented to Bennett, who was Economy Minister in Netanyahu's third government, would take him to the Education Ministry and allow him to retain his position as Diaspora Affairs Minister.
There is further disagreement regarding Bayit Yehudi's demand that Netanyahu promise not to freeze construction in the West Bank and Jerusalem and to transfer billions of shekels to the Education Ministry - a budget Bennett seeks to use for changes in the education system. "He's not going to join the Education Ministry to deal with deficits," said a source in the party. "If there is no budget to develop the ministry, it's better to pass on it." (Read more)
2. Likud, Kulanu, United Torah Judaism sign coalition agreements - Jerusalem Online
Prime Minister Netanyahu has one week left to establish coalition agreements with the future government parties. On Wednesday evening, Kulanu and United Torah Judaism representatives signed coalition agreements with Likud, bringing Netanyahu one step closer to completing the task of forming a coalition. The agreements include drastic changes in the government's policies regarding fundamental issues.
The agreement signed with Kulanu states that apartment purchase tax for investors will be increased, as part of the real-estate reform the party chairman, Moshe Kahlon, wishes to impose.
Upon signing the coalition agreement with United Torah Judaism, Likud agreed to cancel the legal sanctions imposed as part of the Enlistment Law on ultra-orthodox citizens who did not complete their military service. Yesterday, it was reported that the two parties reached a dead end in the talks, as Likud refused to agree to the ultra-orthodox party's demand to raise children pensions. (Read more)
3. Special Prayer Request for Prime Minister Netanyahu - CHPP
Now that we are all "riveted" upon two key prayer initiatives in our own nation just now, the National Day of Prayer and the National Day of Repentance, let us not forget to pray for the nation of Israel. Let us also lift up a special prayer today for Prime Minister Netanyahu, as he continues to work towards forging a coalition among the many parties inside the Knesset, that will govern Israel in these perilous times.
The deadline by which this must be accomplished is one week from today, Thursday, May 7th. If the coalition is not assembled by that date, then "Bibi" will lose the opportunity to take the lead on this vital matter. Thank you for praying today for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. In the Name of Yeshua we pray, amen.
- Father God, Abba in heaven, we yet recall with great joy the amazing victory You brought to Benjamin Netanyahu on Israel's election day: Tuesday, March 10. Abba, we now ask that the victory he has gained not be lost again in this coalition-building process. We ask that You lead and guide the Prime Minister, granting him Your wisdom to create the coalition of Your will that will govern Your people, Israel, in the days ahead. We ask this in Your mighty and holy name, amen and amen.
- "I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you. " (Psalm 32:8)
4. Meet the new MK: Zionist Union's Ben-Reuven plans to fight for agreement with Palestinians - Jerusalem Post
Before becoming an MK Eyal Ben-Reuven served in the IDF for over 35 years.
Why did you decide to enter politics? The main reason is because of the bad direction Israel is going in, toward a binational state, which will become a country that is neither democratic nor Jewish. In my eyes, that is not an option we can allow, and I plan to fight for policy initiatives that will bring a new arrangement with the Palestinians based on two states, agreed-upon borders and security arrangements that ensure a safe and just Jewish and democratic state, forever. 5. Plan for US-Israel anti-tunnel R&D project clears first House hurdle - Times of Israel
WASHINGTON - A bipartisan group of Congress members unanimously approved adding an amendment authorizing research and development of an anti-tunneling defense system for Israel's protection to the year's most important defense legislation Wednesday.
The amendment combined language from two pre-existing bills - one sponsored by Rep. Gwen Graham (D-FL) and the other by Rep. Doug Lamborn (R-CO) - into a bipartisan amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), an annual must-pass bill that specifies the Defense Department's budget and expenditures.
The amendment was added to the NDAA by a unanimous voice vote, during a marathon session of the House Armed Service Committee, and will likely remain as part of the bill that will come before the full House of Representatives for a floor vote. The NDAA is considered must-pass legislation, as it secures funding for American national defense, including long-term big-ticket projects and procurements as well as funding the day-to-day operations of the world's most expensive military. 6. IDF - down but not out in UN Gaza war report - Jerusalem Post
Israel came out of its first major round of UN reports on alleged war crimes during the summer 2014 Gaza War bruised, but likely far better than might have been publicly expected.
Of the seven IDF attack-incidents reviewed in UN Secretary General's Ban Ki-Moon's Board of Inquiry, three lead to multiple Palestinian deaths, in total killing 44 (as of now presumed civilians), while others led to injuring 277.
While Ban condemned the deaths in the harshest language and laid responsibility for the incidents at Israel's feet, the report did not accuse Israel of war crimes.
Part of that relates to the BOI's function more as a fact-finding mechanism suggesting strategic lesson to be learned as opposed to offering legal conclusions. (Read more)
7. Syrian opposition, activists report chemical attack in Idlib - Times of Israel
UNITED NATIONS (AP) - Syrian activist groups are reporting another chemical attack in the northwestern province of Idlib.
Several Idlib-based groups say government helicopters dropped at least two barrel bombs containing chlorine on the town of Saraqeb, triggering cases of suffocation.
The Syrian Network for Human Rights, which is based outside the country, has tweeted that 12 people were "suffocating." (Read more)
8. Belarus president pans Minsk governor for not taking Jews 'under control' - Jerusalem Post
MINSK - Belarussian President Alexander Lukashenko criticized on Wednesday a Jewish regional governor in Belarus for not taking the country's Jewish population "under control" as he had ordered.
In a state-of-the-nation address, Lukashenko expressed annoyance that a popular online publication, which has a Jewish director, had criticized his decree imposing a tax on people who worked fewer than 183 days a year.
Addressing the Minsk region governor Semyon Shapiro by name, Lukashenko said the head of the tut.by website, Yuri Zisser, was "not behaving correctly". (Read more)

When evil is considered good
Hillary Clinton's response about Benghazi; use of a private server to host official State Department emails; over 1,100 donors to the Clinton Foundation unreported foreign pass-throughs; and a host of other terrible things all combine to show the world, the Democratic Party, and voters in general, that she is not a virtuous person. Yet she is still considered the front-runner for her party's presidential nomination. Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown, and Freddie Gray were not virtuous men, yet they have become martyrs for the new civil rights movement. The "president" said if he had a son, he wouldn't let him play football. He also said if he had a son, he would be like Trayvon Martin. Is this the condition of our nation?
The acceptance of evil as good has seemingly become commonplace. Folks take sides without discerning the facts. People have become symbols of movements even though they are not worthy representatives. The "president's" words that he wouldn't let his son play football and that his son would be like Martin sends a message to the youth of America. Clinton's purposeful violation of the laws sends a message, too. That she is still walking about with her freedom while many who have broken lesser laws are in jail, is also a message. Making martyrs of young men who have violated the law and shown tremendous disregard for authority sends a message as well. It's not a civil right to steal and sell drugs.
There are many examples of successful women who have extraordinary accomplishments and haven't broken the law. There are many young Black men who have overcome prejudice, unconscious bias, poverty and disappointment, have never broken the law, but are unrecognized for their contribution to society. There have been many Presidents who have stood for civil rights and have upheld the law as elected representatives of all US citizens. They have said the right things at the right moments to bring unity rather than division; to support American values even in the face of great challenges. So then, why can we point to these examples and countless others where good is discounted and evil celebrated?
Ezekiel 22:29-30 says, "The people of the land have used oppression, and exercised robbery, and have vexed the poor and needy: yea, they have oppressed the stranger wrongfully. And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none." In generations past, the Church in America stood in the gap and made up the hedge. Somewhere along the line, the Church disengaged, turned within, and abdicated its role to the government. Separation of Church and state, they call it. But can the Spirit and the Soul be separated and truth, love, honor and justice remain? We are not supposed to allow our good to be considered evil. We are to overcome evil with good. We all need to engage with the message of Christ.
Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

Senate Vote on Iran Imminent
|
||||
We Need Your Help!
We urgently need to call our senators right now at 202-224-3121. Urge them to vote for pro-American, pro-Israel, anti-nuclear Iran amendments coming up for votes this week. Here's why.
The Senate is debating legislation providing for congressional review of President Obama's nuclear deal with Iran. The bill was approved by a unanimous vote in the Senate Foreign Relations Committee two weeks ago.
Now the bill must be strengthened because, as it is written, it won't stop a bad deal with Iran. And a nuclear-armed Iran will threaten Israel and the United States.
Fortunately, several conservative senators have introduced numerous amendments that would add teeth to the bill.
America deserves a serious debate over our Iran policy. We must do everything we can to prevent a nuclear Iran.
TAKE ACTION: Don't worry -- this is easy to do.
First, click here to identify your senators.
Then call their offices directly or call the Capitol Hill switchboard at 202-224-3121 and ask to be connected to your senator's office. A staff member will answer your call, so you don't need to worry about speaking directly to a senator.
Here's a summary of what to tell your senator's office:
"Hi, I am a concerned voter. Please tell the senator that I want him/her to vote in favor of amendments to the Iran nuclear bill to make it stronger and to stop Iran's aggression. The current bill is too weak."

Today: Pro-life vote
|
||||
Today: Pro-life vote
H.J. Res. 43 has been added to the schedule for the House floor today. We expect debate today and a vote either today or Friday.
As you may remember H.J. Res. 43 is the resolution of disapproval sponsored by Rep. Diane Black to prevent implementation of the Reproductive Health Nondiscrimination Act (RHNDA). RHNDA was adopted by the D.C. City Council late last year and transmitted to Congress on March 6 for a Congressional review period of 30 legislative days. The law will be enacted at the expiration of the 30 day period unless a joint resolution of disapproval is enacted. On April 21 H.J. Res. 43 was approved by the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee on a party line vote of 20-16.
There is concern that RHNDA could restrict the First Amendment freedoms of pro-life organizations in two ways:
1. Force a religious or pro-life advocacy group to make personnel decisions inconsistent with their sincerely held religious beliefs or moral convictions about the sanctity of human life.
2. Mandate that religious and pro-life advocacy organizations provide insurance coverage for surgical abortion.

Supreme Court: Who Decides?
|
||||
Who Decides?
During yesterday's historic debate, several Supreme Court justices, including Anthony Kennedy, expressed reservations about redefining marriage -- an institution that has existed for millennia.
The left and its media allies insist that public opinion has shifted dramatically. There is some truth to that, but the media's claims of consensus are exaggerated. Two polls this week indicate that the country remains deeply divided. An Associated Press poll found that only 48% of adults support same-sex "marriage." A Fox News poll found the same.
But if opinions are changing so quickly, why not let the process play out in the political arena? As Chief Justice John Roberts said, "People feel very differently about something if they have a chance to vote on it than if it's imposed on them by the courts."
I appreciate the chief's restraint. The Supreme Court should not be dictating radical social change. Republicans who would prefer to ignore the issue should -- at a minimum -- oppose judicial activism and demand respect for the will of the people. (Gary Bauer)
Prayers for the Court
|
||||
Prayers for the Court
Thanks to all who joined us in prayer and fasting over the past 21 days. Yesterday, the highest court in the land heard arguments from highly skilled lawyers about the most critical case since Roe v. Wade. Roe struck a blow from which we have not recovered. If this case is ruled wrongly, the freedoms of millions of Americans will be put into jeopardy and this will have grave consequences for the future of our nation. (read Dt 8 and Jude: all). The audio of the oral arguments was released at 2 PM, and these prayers are going to press before we have had an opportunity to hear or analyze them. Reportedly in the early arguments, Chief Justice Roberts, as well as Justices Kennedy and Breyer, expressed doubt about changing the definition of marriage.
Roberts: "Every definition that I looked up, prior to about a dozen years ago, defined marriage as unity between a man and a woman as husband and wife. Obviously, if you succeed, that core definition will no longer be operable . . . My question is you're not seeking to join the institution, you're seeking to change what the institution is. The fundamental core of the institution is the opposite-sex relationship and you want to introduce into it a same-sex relationship."
Kennedy: "One of the problems is when you think about these cases you think about words or cases, and the word that keeps coming back to me in this case is millennia, plus time. First of all, there has not been really time, so the respondents say, for the federal system to engage in this debate. But still, 10 years is . . . I don't even know how to count the decimals when we talk about millennia. This definition has been with us for millennia. And it's very difficult for the Court to say, oh, well, we know better."
Breyer: Noted that man-woman marriage "has been the law everywhere for thousands of years among people who were not discriminating even against gay people, and suddenly you want nine people outside the ballot box to require states that don't want to do it to change . . . what marriage is to include gay people. Why cannot those states at least wait and see whether in fact doing so in the other states is or is not harmful to marriage?"
- May God's people continue to cry out to Him! May we yet see miracles of restraint by our Justices and a ruling that upholds God-ordained marriage as between a man and woman! (1 Samuel 3:13; Jas 3:14-18)

Australia and The United States of America
Lana Vawser, Sydney, Australia
"AUSTRALIA and THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, I Am Calling You to a Partnership For Such a Time as This!"
I saw a bridge between Australia and the United States of America. On this bridge I saw angels moving back and forward into these nations, as the people of God were praying and crying out to the Lord for revival and restoration in their individual nations.
I then heard the Lord saying:
"Australia and the United States of America, I have called you to a partnership for such a time as this. I am calling you to stand in the spirit as allies, and some of the greatest moves of My Spirit are going to be released into your lands as you pray and cry out to Me."

Target: 1,789 NDR Observances!
Beginning today and continuing through Wednesday, May 6:
on the Eve of the National Day of Prayer
Today is a key day to be in our prayer closets and also for churches to observe the importance of repentance in our nation. Additionally, the "day" is being extended to the "days" leading up to the National Day of Prayer on Thursday, May 7, so we have seven days to participate in a repentance observation on behalf of our nation.
If you will be joining in any way, especially in a corporate setting, please contact Jeff Daly, President of the national organization. The goal is to have 1,789 churches participate--in recognition of President George Washington's inauguration in that year. However, the most important thing is to seek His face, to pray and repent on behalf of this nation.
Blessings on each of you as you join with those from other nations who are seeking the good of our nation in calling us to repentance.

Today's NDR Prayer Points
Suggested Repentance Prayer Points:
Thursday, April 30
Introduction:
Under His blood and under His name He helps us uncover places in our hearts blocked by betrayal and pain, generational curses, vows made in the past, or unforgiveness. He helps us uncover every stronghold blocking us from manifesting the fullness of His Holy Spirit miraculously given to each of us upon becoming a believer in Him. He then helps us stand to rebuild the walls of righteousness that have guarded our land. Hallelulia!
The individual and national repentance prayer points below are offered to encourage you to take the opportunity to repent with the Lord, to refocus your life upon Him, during this critical time.
Individual repentance
Lord I repent of my apathy and cowardice. I have been too often afraid of what others may think of me more than I fear You. Oh lead me to the cross, I belong to You, rid me of my focus on myself.
National repentance
Lord I repent that we believers in You in the USA have not bent our knees to You as did our forefathers in earlier centuries during the previous 3 Great Awakenings. In apathy we have confirmed one man's observation that "The reason we don't have revival is because we are willing to live without it." The Church stood for You publicly in the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries and the fruit was a new nation conceived in both faith and liberty, the abolition of slavery, and a new character based on sharing what we have with those who do not, and authentic racial reconciliation coupled with authentic respect for the other person. I repent that we rarely stand publicly for You today.

These are:

Our Grandmothers' Songs

Songs Our Grandmothers Sang:
COME, THOU FOUNT OF EVERY BLESSING
"Samuel took a stone and . . . named it Ebenezer, saying 'Thus far has the Lord helped us.'" (1 Samuel 7:12)
Lyrics:
Come, Thou Fount of every blessing,
Tune my heart to sing Thy grace;
Streams of mercy, never ceasing,
Call for songs of loudest praise.
Teach me some melodious sonnet,
Sung by flaming tongues above.
Praise the mount! I'm fixed upon it,
Mount of Thy redeeming love.
O to grace how great a debtor
Daily I'm constrained to be!
Let that grace, Lord, like a fetter,
Bind my wand'ring heart to Thee.
Teach me, Lord, some rapturous measure,
Meet for me Thy grace to prove,
While I sing the countless treasure
Of my God's unchanging love.
Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it;
Prone to leave the God I love:
Take my heart, oh, take and seal it
With Thy Spirit from above.
Rescued thus from sin and danger,
Purchased by the Savior's blood,
May I walk on earth a stranger, As a son and heir of God.
