1. U.S. Pushes Back Against Warnings That ISIS Plans to Enter From Mexico - NY Times
Militants for the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria have traveled to Mexico and are just miles from the United States. They plan to cross over the porous border and will "imminently" launch car bomb attacks. And the threat is so real that federal law enforcement officers have been placed at a heightened state of alert, and an American military base near the border has increased its security. (Read more)
- Father, these militants could be entering our country from many avenues. May our government officials remain alert and consider all possibilities, in Jesus Name.
- Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: (1 Peter 5:8)
2. U.N. to dump flood of Muslim refugees on U.S.- WND
Since the early 1990s, the United Nations high commissioner for refugees has selected more than 200,000 refugees from Islamic countries to be resettled in the United States. Most of them have come from Somalia and Iraq.
Syria could soon be added to the mix in the midst of that country's brutal civil war. The Obama administration has been greasing the skids for the Syrian refugees for months, WND has learned, and the refugees will soon be dumped on American cities throughout the U.S.
In February, the State Department moved to ease the rules that protect the U.S. from accepting refugees with potential ties to terrorist organizations. The rules were seen as "too strict" by the refugee-resettlement groups that lobby Congress and the administration to continuously let in more Muslims from the war-torn Middle East.
Then on Sept. 4, a U.S. State Department spokeswoman hinted at her daily press briefing that a new wave of refugees will soon be coming from another predominantly Muslim nation - Syria. (Read more)
- Lord God Almighty, we ask for Your hand of mercy to be upon us as we prepare to receive this horde of refugees from Islamic countries, at the bidding of the United Nations. We ask that, if there be any infiltrators in their midst, who are bent on doing us any harm, that You would ferret them out and render them powerless, under the control of our FBI, police and federal agencies. Lord God, we know we are now in a war for the very survival and the destiny of our nation, so we turn to You, in repentance, to save us. We ask all of this in Your name, amen.
- "The angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear Him, and delivers them." (Psalm 34:7)
3. White House Denies Truce Between Syrian Rebels And ISIS - Huffington Post
The White House on Monday disputed reports that a group of moderate Syrian rebels -- part of the larger coalition that President Barack Obama wants to help fight the Islamic State -- struck a non-aggression pact with the Islamic State.
Those reports, which emerged late Friday night, sent shocks through some corners of the foreign policy community, where skepticism has been high over the president's plan to aid rebel factions. According to the stories, one of the main rebel groups, the Syrian Revolutionaries Front, had agreed with the Islamic State that the two groups would not attack each other and would instead focus their efforts on unseating their mutual enemy, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. (Read more)
- Lord, we thank You for warning us of bad alliances. We pray that our government and the coalition it is trying to make has discernment on who is and who is not truly committed to this cause: defeating ISIS and rendering it powerless. We ask this in Your Name, amen.

4. 70 Percent Don't Believe US Will Defeat ISIS - Newsmax
Nearly 70 percent of Americans surveyed don't believe the United States will succeed in wiping out Islamic State (ISIS) militants, according to a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal/Annenberg poll. According to the poll, 68 percent have "very little" or "just some" confidence in President Barack Obama's goal of eliminating the threat of ISIS. Only 28 percent had "a great deal" or "quite a bit" of confidence in Obama's goals.
That said, 62 percent say they support the used of air power against ISIS in Syria as laid out by the president in a Wednesday address to the nation. Twenty-two percent oppose the plan. "The bottom line: The president has made his case to the American public, and like other presidents who faced war and peace issues, support usually follows," Democratic pollster Peter Hart said of the survey he helped conduct. "The difference in this military encounter is that, right out of the box, Americans are skeptical if this will work." (Read more)
- What a way to enter a war! If we are not going to win, we might as well stay home.
Lord God, once again we ask You to intervene in this matter, and to strengthen Barack Hussein Obama in the inner man to actually DO what he has stated he will do. Father, we do not presume to go ahead of You in this matter, but we do ask that You take this president by the hand, give him the courage of a lion, and bring hope to our citizens that we can be free of the terror of ISIS, both at home and abroad. We ask all of this in Jesus' precious name, amen and amen.
- "This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us." (I John 5:14)
5. US to send 3,000 troops to Ebola danger zone as Obama administration shuffles military's mission in Africa - Daily Mail
The United States government is sending thousands of military troops to the west African nation of Liberia as part of the Obama administration's Ebola virus-response strategy. . . 'U.S. Africa Command will set up a Joint Force Command headquartered in Monrovia, Liberia, to provide regional command and control support to U.S. military activities and facilitate coordination with U.S. government and international relief efforts,'. . . (Read more)
- Father, from this article it remains unclear why the United States is taking the lead in this mission to Liberia. We pray protection over these troops as they go into this danger zone. We pray success over the relief efforts in this region. In Jesus Name.
- "Surely he will save you from the fowler's snare and from the deadly pestilence."(Psalm 91:3)
6. Not One Drop: How Long Will California Survive Life Without Water?
The old man knew of the $500-a-day fine for people caught wasting water. He heard the plea for conservation from Governor Jerry Brown. But the water police can't scare a person whose water isn't running in the first place.
"Look," said Carlos Chavez, a retired farm hand in the small town of Seville. He turned the wheel on a big outdoor faucet, the kind of high pressure spigot that's illegal to operate in California without at least a hose attached to it. Nothing came out except air. It was the same story inside his home, where his plates piled up beneath a kitchen faucet as dry as the shop model. In what is still the most productive agricultural county in America, the pantry of brands like Hershey's and Häagen-Dazs, Sun-Maid and Yoplait, the rising number of completely dry homes here has shocked officials and become a visceral symbol of California's unending dry spell. Thousands of people-most of them farm workers and their families-find themselves with no running water to wash, drink, flush or cook. (Read more)
- Heavenly Father, we lift up these people in California with their tremendous basic need for a water source in their homes and lives, who do not have any water to use in their home due to the multiple year drought. Father, we know that many people in the world have to live like this. Forgive us, Father, for how as a nation we have lived, carelessly using the resources of the land and living without respect for Your ways. We ask mercy Father. Lord God, please send rain. We pray this in the Name of Jesus and under His Shed Blood, Amen and Amen.
- "Do any of the worthless idols of the nations bring rain? Do the skies themselves send down showers? No, it is You O Lord our God. Therefore our HOPE is in You, for You are the One who does all this." (Jeremiah 14:22)

1. ISIS may target Israelis, Jews abroad, Counter-Terrorism Bureau warns - Jerusalem Post
The National Security Council's Counter-Terrorism Bureau released a biannual travel advisory on Monday, ahead of the High Holy Days, warning that Western Europe may become the scene of Islamic State terror attacks on Jewish and Israeli targets. 2. Israeli diplomats nix drone sale to Ukraine - report -Times of Israel
A Defense Ministry-approved deal to sell drones to Ukraine was vetoed by a Foreign Ministry special panel amid fears Russia would disapprove, Israel's Channel 2 reported Monday.
The report added that Russia has blocked arms sales to Iran and Syria recently, and said Israel was concerned a drone sale to Ukraine would anger Moscow, and could provoke it to sell more arms to Syria and Iran, the Jewish state's arch-enemy.
The broadcaster said a Ukrainian delegation had visited Israel with a view to acquiring military hardware including drones to use against pro-Russian separatists. (Read more)
3. Israeli air force chief: We may have to send planes to Iran tomorrow. -Times of Israel
Israel's air force commander gave an apparently unintended insight into his priorities and preoccupations, when he remarked during comments about the defense budget that Israel might need to send its attack planes to Tehran at very short notice.
Speaking about the imperative for the government to allocate additional funding to the armed forces, Israel Air Force chief Major-General Amir Eshel declared that "there's no one in this room who'd be prepared to ride in a car as old as our planes. I'm telling you, no-one. Yesterday these planes were in Gaza, and tomorrow we may send them to Tehran." The remarks were not delivered in the tone of a threat, but rather as a statement about a possible mission that would require up-to-date equipment.
Eshel's comments, broadcast Sunday on the local Channel 2 News, came as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Finance Minister Yair Lapid sparred over the national budget, with Netanyahu earlier Sunday asserting that, in the wake of the summer's 50-day Israel-Hamas conflict, "We need a significant increase of several billion in the defense budget." - Father, You are the author and finisher of all things. You are the Great Provider. God, we ask that you would continue to prosper Israel financially. We ask that there be an abundance of finances for the Defense Department to properly protect the people and the land. 4. Study: 40% of European Jews hide their religion. -The Jerusalem Post
DNIPROPETROVSK, Ukraine - About forty percent of European Jews hide their identity, the Rabbinical Center of Europe and the European Jewish Association claimed on Monday.
The organizations, both of which are run by Menachem Margolin, a Chabad rabbi from Brussels, stated that they had gathered their data from over 800 rabbis and RCE members across the continent but did not provide any detailed explanation of how they arrived at the 40% figure or of the study's methodology.
According to Margolin, half-amillion Jews will attend prayer services on Rosh Hashana this year at 1,353 synagogues in Europe.
"Half-a-million Jews will participate in prayers, but 1.5 million Jews hide their Jewishness," a press release by the RCE and EJA stated, adding that "there is 80% intermarriage among Europe's Jewish communities, when compared with the total number of Jews. (Read more)
- Heavenly Father, You chose Abraham to be the father of Your people. You promised that his descendents would be as numerous as the stars in the sky and the grains of sand on the shore. You promised them the inheritance of the land of Israel. Father, we pray that you will move the hearts of your people. Wake up Ephraim in the nations to their true identity in You. Wake them up to who YOU are. Lord, we ask that you give them a boldness so that they won't be afraid of what man may do to them, but that they will be God-fearing. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit and give them hope. We pray that they will find the hope of Yeshuah HaMachiach and come into the fullness of their inheritance in You. In the name of Yeshuah, amen.
5. Bill Clinton Bashes Netanyahu During Hillary's Iowa Trip- JP Updates
Former President Bill Clinton was caught in a hot-mic moment bashing Prime minister Netanyahu while he was picketing with his wife Hillary in Iowa on Sunday. According to Haaretz' Chemi Shalev, Bill Clinton was overheard clearly agreeing with an interlocutor from the audience who said that Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu is "not the man" who would make peace with the Palestinians and concurring with the statement "If we don't force him to have peace, we won't have peace."
Clinton's comments were recorded by C-Span at the end of its three-hour coverage of the Harkin Steak Fry held on Sunday in Indianola, Iowa. At the event, Hillary gave her first public indication that she's seriously considering a run for the presidency in 2016. (Read more)

6. UN evacuates all troops from Golan as Syria fighting worsens -The Times of Israel
UN peacekeepers withdrew from all of their posts in the Syrian Golan Heights Monday, as regime forces and rebel factions battled for control of the areas adjacent to the Syrian-Israeli border in what the UN called a "deteriorating situation."
A UN spokesperson said all the troops posted on the Syrian side had been ordered to pull back into Israel. The Syrian armed groups posed "a direct threat to the safety and security" of the troops from the UN Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF), said UN spokesperson Stephane Dujarric.
"All the UN personnel in these positions have thus been relocated to the Alpha side," said Dujarric, referring to the Israeli side. (Read more)

A new armed group calling itself the Caliphate Soldiers in Algeria has split from al Qaeda's North African branch and sworn loyalty to the radical breakaway group Islamic State fighting in Syria and Iraq.
A breakaway of key Algerian commanders from al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb, known as AQIM, would show deepening rivalry between al Qaeda's core command and the Islamic State over leadership of the transnational Islamist militancy. In a communiqué, AQIM central region commander Khaled Abu Suleimane, whose real name is Gouri Abdelmalek, claimed leadership of the new group, joined by an AQIM commander of an eastern region in Algeria, where the al Qaeda wing has its base.
"You have in the Islamic Maghreb men if you order them they will obey you," Suleimane said in reference to Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the leader of the Islamic State. "The Maghreb has deviated from the true path." (Read more)

4. IS Publicly Executes Alleged Spies in Iraq - Israel National News
"Islamic State" (IS) terrorists publicly executed eight Sunni men in a small northern Iraqi village on the weekend for allegedly plotting against the group, an eyewitness from the village told Reuters on Sunday.
The killing began on Friday night when a pair of masked IS gunmen openly murdered a police officer in Al-Jumasah village after the group accused him of spying for the Kurdish and Iraqi military forces, the witness said.
The IS fighters gathered local residents to watch the execution in the village, about 120 km north of Tikrit, the witness told Reuters.
"Islamic State members said that this is the fate of anyone who opposes them," the witness said. "They presented as evidence CDs and copies of the man's correspondences with the security forces." (Read more)

7. Islamic State Attracts Female Jihadis from US Heartland - Newsmax
U.S. law enforcement is investigating a new phenomenon of women from the American heartland joining Islamic State as President Barack Obama vows to cut off the militants' recruiting at home.
At least three Somali families in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area have female relatives who have gone missing in the past six weeks and may have tried to join Islamic State, said community leader Abdirizak Bihi. He said that while the reasons for their disappearance were unclear, he had told the families to contact police.
In a separate case, a 19-year-old American Somali woman from St. Paul snuck away from her parents on Aug. 25 saying she was going to a bridal shower. Instead, she flew to Turkey and joined IS in Syria.

A fired-up Sen. Lindsey Graham warned on Sunday that failure to take on the Islamic State (ISIS) in a tougher way could result in deaths of Americans on U.S. soil.
Graham, appearing on "Fox News Sunday," said America is facing a turning point in the war on terror and that nobody believes America anymore when it commits to military action.
While House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough made the rounds of Sunday morning news shows, reiterating the words of President Barack Obama on Wednesday that American airpower, combined with Syrian rebel and Iraqi ground troops, would combine to defeat ISIS, which he and other government officials refer to by the alternate acronym ISIL. Graham has expressed doubts about the US's reliance on Saudi Arabia as an ally in fight against Islamic State (also known as ISIS or ISIL). 10. Steve King's Plan To Defeat ISIS: Spy On Muslim Americans In Mosques - ThinkProgress.com
Muslim Americans are fighting back against Rep. Steve King's (R-IA) suggestion on Thursday that the U.S. government should spy on mosques to stop the recruitment of fighters into the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS).
"The radical Islamists have 1.3 or more billion Muslims to work with," the Iowa congressman said on The Steve Deace Show. "Now they aren't all supporters . . . but that is a huge population to draw from," he continued, suggesting that recruiters are "certainly in the United States," particularly in mosques in Virginia and Minneapolis. "So they have a network that they flow in. And it isn't that all Muslims are a supporter of ISIS but the network that flows through the mosques is certainly the communications centers. We ought to be looking at this dot to dot. And we ought to have people sitting in those mosques watching to see what's going on," he explained.

There are about 200,000 Africans from countries hosting the deadly Ebola virus who hold temporary visas to visit the United States, greatly raising the stakes it could spread to America, according to a group following the immigration issue.
"Based on State Department nonimmigrant visa issuance statistics, I estimate that there are about 5,000 people in Guinea, 5,000 people in Sierra Leone, and 3,500 people in Liberia who possess visas to come to the United States today," said Jessica M. "The trendlines in this crisis are grave, and without immediate international action we are facing the potential for a public health crisis that could claim lives on a scale far greater than current estimates, and set the countries of West Africa back a generation," Power told reporters on Monday. 6. West Africa: Obama to Announce Ebola Czar As Businesses, Senators Press for More - AllAfrica.com
President Obama will announce the appointment of a high-level coordinator to manage the U.S. response to the Ebola outbreak when he visits Atlanta on Tuesday, administration sources have told AllAfrica.
White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said Friday that the president is visiting the Atlanta, Georgia-based U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to receive a briefing from officials at the organization, whose director, Dr. Thomas Frieden, visited the region last month.
Obama will also discuss U.S. assistance to fight the Ebola virus and will thank the doctors, scientists and health care workers who have been engaged in the effort to stop its escalating spread. A stepped-up administration plan, which has been discussed by officials from across the executive branch for more than a month, received higher level attention this past week as the scope of the outbreak became more widely acknowledged - at least partly in response to pressure from private sector companies engaged in the most-affected countries and from members of Congress. One if by land, two if by deceit
While the "president" is trying to convince the American people that the Islamic State (IS) is not Islamic, that Muslims are peace loving, and that we should spend our tax dollars arming moderates in Syria that have a non-aggression treaty with the IS to fight the IS, he is leaving the US Southern border open to IS infiltrators. Has there ever been a US "president" who is so transparent on the destruction of America's way of life, yet the citizenry and media are so blind to his obvious intent? In addition, WorldNetDaily reports that a new wave of Syrian Islamist "refugees" will be resettled in America, in addition to over 200,000 from Somalia and Iraq since the early 1990s.
There is a triple threat to America in all this. First, our tax money will arm Islamists to fight the Islamists with which they already signed a non-aggression treaty. Second, Islamists are crossing our borders while the "president" turns a blind eye. Third, the UN and the US State Department are planning to resettle more Islamists in an America already being colonized by Islam. As WorldNetDaily points out: "Once the refugees are relocated to an American city, they are quickly connected to an array of taxpayer-funded social services, including Medicaid, food stamps and subsidized housing. Interpreters and tutors are often provided to help bridge the language gap that refugee children will find in local public schools."
Moreover, Tom Fitton, president of Judicial Watch, a conservative government watchdog, told the NY Times, that the White House has a history of looking the other way on national security threats, especially those involving the border. Fitton said the "president" "or his administration should acknowledge this dire threat on the border, whatever its political ramifications are for the debate on immigration," but that the idea of the IS coming across the border "goes against the narrative that the border is secure" and that Americans "don't need to worry about illegal immigration." Fitton's group published a report in late August stating that a bulletin warning of an imminent terrorist attack on the border was issued by the government.
Just as the Muslim Brotherhood's (MB) dream come true of the US funding its caliphate-building plan in the Middle East, so it is with the MB's plan to colonize the US with the aid of a Muslim-born "president." The MB plan for America: "The process of settlement is a 'Civilization-Jihadist Process' with all the word means. The Ikhwan (MB) must understand that their work in America is a kind of grand jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and 'sabotaging' its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and Allah's religion is made victorious over all other religions." Is this "president" sabotaging our country? Ephesians 5:6 says, "Let no one deceive you with vain words, for because of these things come the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience."
Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

Pushing Back Against Executive Overreach
Dear Friend,
Last week in Washington, we pushed back against President Obama's executive overreach on multiple fronts. Legislation passed the House reining in the EPA and letting Americans keep their existing healthcare plans. We also held important hearings in the Natural Resources and Veterans Affairs Committees that I will discuss later in this Ledger. I took a stand on the House Floor with a firm speech condemning President Obama's illegal Taliban prisoner swap. Congress must stand up and voice our opposition with the way this whole prisoner exchange took place. We are a nation that believes in the importance of the rule of law. We have a Congress that makes laws, and a President who is supposed to enforce them. In this case, the law was broken, and I could not remain silent.
Please click HERE to watch my Floor Speech condemning the prisoner swap.
It is an honor to serve you in Congress.
Sincerely,

Why Many Arabs and Muslims Do Not Trust Obama
That is how many Arabs and Muslims reacted to US President Barack Obama's plan to form an international coalition to fight the Islamic State [IS] terrorist organization, which is operating in Iraq and Syria and threatening to invade more Arab countries.
Islamic State terrorists have killed and wounded tens of thousands of Arabs and Muslims, mostly over the past few months. By contrast, Islamic State has targeted only a few Westerners, three of whom were beheaded in recent weeks.
Islamic State terrorists are also responsible for the displacement of millions of Iraqis and Syrians, and for the murder of many others.
Still, the atrocities committed by Islamic State against Arabs and Muslims, in addition to the immediate threat it poses to many of their countries, do not seem to be sufficient reason for them to declare war on the group.
While some Arabs and Muslims would prefer to see the U.S. and its Western allies fight Islamic State, others have voiced strong opposition to the new U.S.-led coalition against the group, mainly because they identify with the terrorists' anti-Western objectives and ideology.
Arab leaders last week told U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry that they would contribute "in many aspects" to the anti-Islamic State coalition. But most are not prepared to commit ground troops to the battle against its estimated 30,000 jihadis.
The Arab leaders who want the U.S. to wage war on Islamic State are afraid of being dubbed traitors and U.S. agents for joining non-Muslims in a war on a group that seeks to establish an Islamic Caliphate. Their main fear is that their people would rise up against them once they were seen fighting alongside non-Muslims in a war that would result in the death of many Muslims.
The most these Arab leaders are prepared to do to help the emerging U.S.-led coalition is provide logistical and intelligence aid to the Americans and their Western allies in the war on Islamic State.
Jordan, for its part, has agreed to train members of Iraqi tribes to help them fight Islamic State terrorists in Iraq. Jordan and most of the Gulf countries are also reported to be opposed to serving as launching pads for airstrikes on the terrorist bases in Iraq and Syria.
Although they have formally agreed to join the U.S.-led coalition against Islamic State, it appears that Arab leaders do not trust the Obama Administration when it comes to combating Islamic fundamentalism in the Middle East.
Some of these leaders, such as Egypt's Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, consider the U.S. Administration to be a major ally of the Muslim Brotherhood. Sisi and his regime will never forgive Obama for his support for the Muslim Brotherhood and deposed President Mohamed Morsi. (Gatestone Institute) Read more.
P.M. Netanyahu on 9/11

Prime Minister Netanyahu on 9/11 and War Against ISIS: "I Have a Word for the American People"
The War on Terror requires "clarity and courage-clarity to understand they're wrong, we're right; they're evil, we're good. No moral relativism there at all. These people who lop off heads, trample human rights into the dust-are evil and they have to be resisted. Evil has to be resisted... all you have to imagine is what would have happened if on 9/11 al-Qaeda had nuclear weapons. You know they would have used them against New York and against Washington." -Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu
On September 11, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the International Institute for Counter-Terrorism, in which he memorialized the 9/11 attacks in America and sent a special message to the American people about the continuing war on terror. The following are excerpts from his message:
"I'd like to say a few words before that not only to you, our host, Dr. [Boaz] Ganor [head of the Institute for Counter-Terrorism], who I remember from our youth, and the many guests here from abroad, but most especially to Ambassador [Dan]Shapiro of the United States of America. As you know, Ambassador Shapiro speaks perfect Hebrew, but I want to say a few words in English to you and to the people of the United States.
We remember that day thirteen years ago and we mourn with you on this day for the thousands who lost their lives in that horrific attack. All of Israel mourned on September 11th. In Gaza, they were dancing on the roofs. They were handing out candy. That's the moral divide. We mourn; they celebrate the death of thousands of innocents. And then when the US took out Bin-Laden, I speaking for virtually the entire country congratulated President Obama. In Gaza, Hamas condemned the US and called Bin-Laden a "holy warrior", a holy warrior of Islam. That's the moral divide. We celebrate; they mourn the death of an arch-terrorist.
That moral divide has never been clearer than it is today because Hamas, like al-Qaeda and its affiliates al-Nusra or its new growth ISIS or Boko Haram, al-Shabab, Hezbollah supported by Iran-all are branches of the same poisonous tree. All present a clear and present danger to the peace and security of the world and to our common civilization.
These groups must be fought, they must be rolled back and they must ultimately be defeated. That's why Israel fully supports President Obama's call for united actions against ISIS. All civilized countries should stand together in the fight against radical terrorism that sweeps across the Middle East, sweeps across the world. And we are playing our part in this continued effort. Some of the things are known, some things are less known. We have always viewed it as our common battle for our common future.
Above all [the battle] requires, I believe, clarity and courage-clarity to understand they're wrong, we're right; they're evil, we're good. No moral relativism there at all. These people who lop off heads, trample human rights into the dust-are evil and they have to be resisted. Evil has to be resisted. And the second, it requires courage and responsibility. It requires courage because all the other qualities that we could bring to bear in the battle against terrorism are meaningless if you don't have courage.
And if Iran has nuclear weapons, you will see a tremendous pivot in the world. No, not in the Middle East-in the world. You will see things you never imagined could be possible, horrors that you couldn't even contemplate, come to fruition. The ultimate terror: A terrorist regime with the weapons of the greatest terror of them all. We must not let that happen.
I [also] think it's crucial not to let the fight against Sunni extremism make us forget the danger of Shiite extremism. They are two sides of the same coin. We don't have to strengthen one to weaken the other. My policy is: Weaken both. And most importantly, don't allow any of them to get weapons of mass destruction . . . Terror On The Border . . . And Abroad
With all the beheadings going on, I was heartened to see over the weekend that Nancy Pelosi finally realizes there is a serious threat to the civilized world. "Civilization as we know it today would be in jeopardy," Pelosi said, "if Republicans win the Senate."
Whoops! Yes, that's right. In the fevered brows of San Francisco liberals, the real danger to civilization is not the barbarians in ISIS but the barbarians in the GOP who might get 51 votes in the upper chamber of Congress.
Meanwhile, Border Patrol agents reportedly found a banner posted on the Mexican side of the border fence in the Yuma sector. It condemned U.S. support for Israel, called for a free Palestinian state and threatened terrorism. The banner was placed on the border fence on 9/11.
Border Patrol agents leaked this information to Breitbart.com because officials were trying to keep it secret from the American public. The Obama crowd always tries to keep secret any information that could wake up the American people.
While the Obama White House tries mightily to put together a coalition of nations willing to take on ISIS, few Americans have any confidence that Obama will succeed. According to a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll, only 28% of Americans have "a great deal" or "quite a bit" of confidence in Obama's ability to eliminate ISIS. More than two-thirds of Americans expressed "very little" or "just some" confidence in Obama's ability to defeat the jihadists. (Gary Bauer)

Benghazi's Back
The Select House Committee investigating the September 11, 2012 attacks on our consulate in Benghazi, Libya, holds its first public meeting this week. And they will have a lot to discuss.
Former CBS reporter Sharyl Attkisson writes that key aides in the Clinton State Department combed through reams of documents weeding out anything that might prove damaging to Hillary Clinton. The source for this bombshell report is former Deputy Assistant Secretary Raymond Maxwell, a career State Department official and Obama donor who believes he was unfairly scapegoated in the scramble to avoid accountability.
According to Maxwell, he went to the State Department one Sunday afternoon and discovered several workers in a basement office "separating" Benghazi related documents that had been requested by the Accountability Review Board.
When Maxwell asked what was going, he was told, "Ray, we are to go through these stacks and pull out anything that might put anybody in the [Near Eastern Affairs] front office or the seventh floor in a bad light." (The seventh floor is a reference to the Secretary of State's office.)
Maxwell objected but was told, "Ray, those are our orders." Moments later two top Clinton aides -- Cheryl Mills, Hillary's chief of staff, and Jake Sullivan, the deputy chief of staff -- showed up to check on the progress. Mills did not seem happy to see Maxwell there.
This little basement party must have done its job well. The Accountability Review Board did not even interview Hillary Clinton, presumably because it had nothing to go on.
Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) said, "The allegations are as serious as it gets, and it's something we have obviously followed up and pursued. I'm 100 percent confident the Benghazi Select Committee is going to dive deep on that issue." Stay tuned. (Gary Bauer)

The Good News Corner:
She Escaped! 14-Year Old Girl Gets Away from ISIS Commander Who Received Her "As a Gift!"
"Suddenly several vehicles drew up and we found ourselves surrounded by militants wearing Islamic State uniforms. Several people screamed in horror; we were scared for our lives. I've never felt so helpless in my 14 years. They had blocked our path to safety, and there was nothing we could do." -Narin, a child-bride given as a "trophy" to ISIS commander
(Iraq)-At only 14 she was captured from her dusty village on the western Ninevah plains by ISIS fighters, then given as a bride-a trophy of war-to one of their 50-year-old commanders. By God's grace, she was able to escape one Friday evening, while he bowed before Allah in the mosque.
On Aug. 3, relatives called Narin's (name changed to protect her identity) family with alarming news: ISIS fighters were approaching their quiet village, Tel Uzer. Fearing the worst, her Yazidi family fled on foot, carrying only their clothes and a few valuables, according to Narin's firsthand account told to The Washington Post.
Their immediate thought was to take refuge on Mount Sinjar, along with thousands of other Yazidis, because they heard the descriptions of ISIS brutality and what they had done to non-Muslims. But they never made it to Mount Sinjar.
"Suddenly several vehicles drew up and we found ourselves surrounded by militants wearing Islamic State uniforms. Several people screamed in horror; we were scared for our lives. I've never felt so helpless in my 14 years. They had blocked our path to safety, and there was nothing we could do," Narin told The Post.
The ISIS fighters divided their captives by gender and age: One group was comprised of younger, more capable men, another group composed of girls and young women, and a third held older men and women.

Extent of Antarctic sea ice reaches record levels, scientists say
Scientists say the extent of Antarctic sea ice cover is at its highest level since records began. Satellite imagery reveals an area of about 20 million square kilometres covered by sea ice around the Antarctic continent.
Jan Lieser from the Antarctic Climate and Ecosystems Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) said the discovery was made two days ago.
"This is an area covered by sea ice which we've never seen from space before," he said.
"Thirty-five years ago the first satellites went up which were reliably telling us what area, two dimensional area, of sea ice was covered and we've never seen that before, that much area.
"That is roughly double the size of the Antarctic continent and about three times the size of Australia." (Read more)

"And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; men's hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near."

Today's Birthday on the Hill
Almost every day of the year, a member of Congress or a Senator is celebrating a birthday. Let's lift up these men and women, day by day in prayer on their special day, that God might bless them and show them His love for each one. Indeed, let's move together in obedience to the Lord's mandate in I Timothy 2:1-4. It is written:
"I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people - for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth."
Today's Birthday Greeting goes to:
Rep. Joaquin Castro (TX)
