Holy Week: A Time of Reflection
Today, Christians around the world have celebrated Palm Sunday, and the beginning of Holy Week.
As our children have waved their palm branches in honor of the coming King, so we wave our hearts before our Lord in a time of special adoration of our Savior, and of the gift He has given to us all . . .
Beginning today, and every day this week through Resurrection Sunday, Capitol Hill Prayer Partners will feature a special devotional to honor Holy Week.
Our guide to our devotions was written by Billy Graham, and is titled "Victory: Preparing for Resurrection Sunday." Published by the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, this special devotional for Holy Week can be found online by going here:

We trust you will be blessed all week long as, together, we prepare our hearts for the Greatest Story Ever Told on Resurrection Sunday, April 1, 2018.
AMEN!

Holy Week: Day One
Palm Sunday
> > > Please read I Corinthians 15: 1-10
When I picture Jesus Christ dying on the cross, I see the free gift of God's grace in Christ reconciling to Himself all those who believe and repent. Grace occurs when something we don't deserve is given to us freely. It is the free gift of God to needy men and women. Paul said, "God made him [Christ] who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God" (2 Corinthians 5:21). When Christ bore our sin on the cross, He created a value of grace and righteousness that changes the lives of men and women, and it still works today!
The truth "that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures" (1 Corinthians 15:3), and that truth alone, has relevance to mankind today. That is because there is saving power in Christ's cross to transform any life and to change the world.
A Question to Ponder:
How has the gift of God's grace changed your life? Will you share your story this week so that someone you know can be made alive in Christ?

Today's Hymn:
Holy! Holy! Holy!
"Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty." (Isaiah 6:3)
Holy! Holy! Holy!
"Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty." (Isaiah 6:3)
Words: Reginald Heber, 1826. Heber wrote this hymn for Trinity Sunday while he was Vicar of Hodnet, Shropshire, England.
Music: John B. Dykes, in Hymns Ancient and Modern, 1861
Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!
Early in the morning our song shall rise to Thee;
Holy, holy, holy, merciful and mighty!
God in three Persons, blessèd Trinity!
Holy, holy, holy! All the saints adore Thee,
Casting down their golden crowns around the glassy sea;
Cherubim and seraphim falling down before Thee,
Who was, and is, and evermore shall be.
Holy, holy, holy! though the darkness hide Thee,
Though the eye of sinful man Thy glory may not see;
Only Thou art holy; there is none beside Thee,
Perfect in power, in love, and purity.
Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!
All Thy works shall praise Thy Name, in earth, and sky, and sea;
Holy, holy, holy; merciful and mighty!
God in three Persons, blessèd Trinity!
