Focus on Israel

1. 70 Years After UN Partition Plan, VP Pence Celebrates Israeli Reenactment as UN, Palestinians Mourn - Breaking Israel News

In honor of the 70th anniversary of the 1947 United Nations resolution leading to the establishment of the State of Israel, Vice President Mike Pence will preside over a reenactment and celebration on Tuesday as the UN itself sponsors anti-Israel and pro-Palestinian events for the occasion.

The historic November 29, 1947 General Assembly Resolution 181 (II), also known as the Partition Plan, proposed to divide Mandate Palestine into two states. Though it was rejected by Arab leadership and preceded a violent war between the embryo Jewish State and its neighboring enemies, it was considered a major success by Jewish leadership and eventually set the stage for Israel declaring its independence and establishing an autonomous state.

In celebration of the momentous 70th anniversary, the Israeli delegation to the UN organized a reenactment of the historic vote in the very hall where it was held, now part of the Queens Museum in New York.

2. Hamas refuses to disarm, vows to expand in West Bank - Israel Hayom

The Palestinian terrorist group Hamas vowed Monday to expand its military activities against Israel into the West Bank, underscoring the challenges ahead since the organization began its reconciliation with the Fatah party of Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas.

Hamas has ruled Gaza since winning legislative elections in 2006 and ousting Fatah the following year in a military coup, a move that prompted an Israeli and Egyptian blockade.

In an Egyptian-brokered deal last month, Hamas transferred control of Gaza's crossings with Israel and Egypt to the PA. Hamas was expected to take further steps to extend PA control over Gaza on Dec. 1, but disagreements between the two parties have intensified.

3. Netanyahu Off to Kenya to Boost Ties with African Nations - United with Israel

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu took off on Tuesday for Nairobi, Kenya, to attend the inauguration of Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta and a series of meetings with African heads of state.

"I am now leaving for my third visit to Africa within a year-and-a-half. I will meet there with newly re-elected Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta and with 10 African leaders as well. Our intention is to deepen ties with Africa also by forging links with countries that we do not have diplomatic relations with," Netanyahu stated before takeoff.

Netanyahu noted that legations from four African countries have opened in Israel in the past two years. He expressed hope that by the end of the year he will be able to announce the opening of a new Israeli embassy "in an African country, and our hand is still extended to others."

4. Union Threatens to Shut Down Israel's International Airport - HAARETZ

The Israel Airports Authority union announced on Tuesday that it would shut down Ben-Gurion International Airport this coming weekend for the duration of the Jewish Sabbath, from sundown on Friday to sundown on Saturday over the prospect that funds from the authority could be transferred to nearby local governments.

The union is protesting a decision by Interior Minister Arye Dery to establish a committee including mayors from municipalities near the airport that is to examine such a prospect. The union declared an official work dispute on the issue two weeks ago. The law provides for a two-week period following such a declaration before labor action can be taken, and that period has now expired. The management of the airports authority has submitted the dispute to the High Court of Justice, but airport employees said they plan to step up their action on the issue before the court considers the case.

5. Netanyahu Announces Opening of New Israeli Embassy In Rwanda- Jerusalem Post

In a further sign of Israel's growing ties with Africa, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced in Nairobi on Tuesday that Jerusalem will open an embassy in Rwanda, its 11th embassy on the continent.

Netanyahu made the announcement - long expected since he floated the idea during a visit to Kigali, the capital of Rwanda, in July 2016 - during a meeting with Rwandan President Paul Kagame on the sidelines of events marking the swearing-in ceremony of Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta.

1. VP Pence: Trump 'considering when and how' to move embassy to Jerusalem - World Israel News

As we speak, President Trump is actively considering when and how to move the American Embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem," the US vice-president stated at 70th anniversary celebration of UN vote calling for the creation of Jewish state.

Israel's Mission to the United Nations, in partnership with the World Jewish Congress, celebrated 70 years since the historic November 29, 1947 United Nations vote on Resolution 181 that called for the establishment of a Jewish State in the Land of Israel. The event, initiated by Israel's Ambassador to the UN Danny Danon, took place in the Queens Museum, which served as UN headquarters in 1947 when the vote took place.

US Vice President Mike Pence served as the guest of honor and keynote speaker at the celebration, which was attended by US Secretary of Treasury Steven Mnuchin, over 60 UN ambassadors, senior diplomats and Jewish community leaders from around the world. World Jewish Congress President Ambassador Ronald Lauder and Israel Katz, Israel's transportation and intelligence minister, addressed the gathering as well.

- Father, give President Trump the answers to when and how to move the embassy to Jerusalem. We speak a great blessing on this move.

2. Trump on North Korean missile launch: 'We will take care of it' - CNN

Hours after the launch, Trump [told] reporters Tuesday at the White House that the US "will handle" the situation. "We will take care of it," the President said, adding later that North Korea "is a situation that we will handle." Mattis, who was with Trump in the Roosevelt Room of the White House, outlined how much tougher that situation has become. The test missile, he said, went "higher, frankly, than any previous shot they have taken" and demonstrates that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un now has the ability to hit "everywhere in the world basically. The bottom line is, it's a continued effort to build a threat -- a ballistic missile threat that endangers world peace, regional peace and certainly the United States," Mattis concluded.

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson strongly condemned the launch and called for redoubled international pressure on Pyongyang, saying that the US "remains committed to finding a peaceful path to denuclearization." But he added a lightly veiled warning about limited US patience. "Diplomatic options remain viable and open, for now," Tillerson said.

- Father, we pray Your wisdom and guidance to influence President Trump, Secretary of Defense Mattis and Secretary of State Tillerson in unity. Help them work together to "take care of" the threat from North Korea.

- A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken. (Ecclesiastes 4:12)

3. Iran Deploying Warships to Atlantic Ocean, Gulf of Mexico - Washington Free Beacon

Iranian military leaders announced on Tuesday the country will send a fleet of warships into the Atlantic Ocean en route to the Gulf of Mexico, where the Islamic Republic aims to solidify ties with several Latin American states, according to the commander of Iran's navy.

Following orders from Iran's supreme leader, the newly installed commander of its navy, Rear Adm. Hossein Khanzadi, announced a fleet of Iranian warships would soon be making their way into the Atlantic Ocean, despite what Iran claims is opposition by U.S. officials.

As Iran continues to deploy military assets to Syria, Yemen, Lebanon, and other Middle Eastern hotspots, its navy is placing a renewed focus on displaying force in international waters, according to the military leaders.

The latest military displays follow a series of provocative moves by Tehran aimed at rattling U.S. officials in the Trump administration, which has increasingly sought to confront Iran's regional intransigence. Any Iranian presence in the Atlantic Ocean is certain to put U.S. military leaders in edge, according to experts who spoke to the Washington Free Beacon.

- Father, we pray Iran's naval expansion will be a complete failure. We ask You to cause all sorts of difficulties and problems that will make them withdraw and not desire to have ships in the Atlantic again.

- "Men, I can see there will be a lot of trouble on this trip. The ship, the cargo, and even our lives may be lost." (Acts 27:10)

4. Arab Emirates Bring Pagan War Goddess to UN - Breaking Israel News

The same multinational group that recreated the Palmyra Victory Arch and sent it on a world tour has now recreated a statue of Athena, the Roman goddess of war, for an exhibit in the United Nations, an organization that claims to be working towards world peace but which one rabbi likens to modern-day paganism. The United Arab Emirates (UAE) officially inaugurated the Digital Archaeology Exhibition, "The Spirit in the Stone", at the United Nations' headquarters in New York City last Thursday. The UAE, the Italian mission to the UN, and the Institute of Digital Archaeology (IDA) cooperated in re-creating a statue of the Roman goddess Athena for the exhibit.

Rabbi Elad Dokow, the head rabbi and lecturer at Israel's Technion Institute of Technology, was not surprised that the United Nations would feature a display of pagan symbols. "There is currently an unmistakeable rise of paganism and idol worship in the world, more than any other religion, and it is naive to believe this display is disconnected from this phenomenon," Rabbi Dokow told Breaking Israel News. "Paganism creates the ability for each man to create his own truth, as opposed to Judaism and Christianity, which state that there is an objective truth man must abide by. The UN, like paganism, is a place of subjective reality created by a vote. What we are seeing in the world today is that every place Christianity grows weak, paganism and idolatry grow stronger, and where Christianity disappears, horrible things happen."

- Father, we pray for wisdom as we intercede against idolatry and paganism, old deceptions that separate people from You by appealing to the lust of the eyes, lust of the flesh and pride of life.

- I say then, walk by the Spirit and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. (Galatians 5:16)

5. Watchdog Finds More Evidence Obama's EPA Broke Federal Law - Daily Caller

Former President Barack Obama's EPA used a social media platform to secretly promote the agency's policies in violation of federal law, according to a conservative watchdog group in Washington, D.C. Judicial Watch obtained 900 pages of documents Monday showing the EPA used social media to lobby support for the Waters of the United States (WOTUS) rule. The agency used Thunderclap, a platform that shares messages across Facebook and Twitter, to recruit outside groups to generate support for various environmental policies. Federal law prohibits agencies from engaging in propaganda. It also forbids agencies from using federal resources to conduct grassroots campaigns that prod U.S. citizens into browbeating lawmakers to act on pending legislation.

"I don't want it to look like EPA used our own social media accounts to reach our support goal," former EPA Director of Web Communications Jessica Orquina wrote in an email in 2014 to Karen Wirth, an EPA team leader in the Office of Ground Water and Drinking Water. "The Obama EPA knowingly did an end run around federal law to push another Obama environmental power grab," Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said in a press statement Monday. "These documents show how these Obama-era bureaucrats seem to be more like social activists than public employees."

- Father, we pray these government officials will be held accountable for misusing their positions to advocate for public policy.

- No one who trusts in You will ever be disgraced, but disgrace comes to those who try to deceive others. (Psalm 25:3)

6. Watchdog Calls for Disclosure of Congressional Members Linked to Sexual Harassment 'Slush Fund' - Washington Free Beacon

A government watchdog group on Tuesday called for the disclosure of all Members of Congress who are tied to a taxpayer-funded multi-million dollar "slush fund" that includes payments to settle sexual harassment complaints on Capitol Hill. The Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust (FACT), a Washington, D.C.-based watchdog, said the settlement list from the Office of Compliance (OOC), which totals $17 million in payments over the last 20 years, should be released for transparency purposes and to hold public officials accountable for their actions.

"Sadly, it has just come to light that for years the government spent millions in taxpayer dollars to try and quietly make sexual misconduct by lawmakers go away. That is an egregious affront to all the victims, as well as taxpayers," said Kendra Arnold, the executive director of FACT. "We don't need speeches and public posturing-we need the internal policy to change and immediate transparency. Congressional leaders need to name names and each day that goes by without action is another day more innocent people are put at risk of becoming victims of predatory behavior in the workplace." Arnold said that Congress's exemption from the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) is even more reason the settlement list should be released to the public.

7. Mitch McConnell: Tax bill is still a few votes short - Washington Examiner

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., said Tuesday he is still working to win over a few Republicans who are not on board yet with the Republican tax reform bill that is tentatively scheduled for a vote this week. "We do have a few members who have concerns and we are trying to address them," McConnell said. "And we know we will not be able to go forward until we get 50 people satisfied, and that's what we're working on."

Senate Republicans met privately Tuesday with President Trump, who took questions from lawmakers for an hour, McConnell said. On Monday, Senate Majority Whip John Cornyn, R-Texas, said the Senate could vote to start debate on the tax measure as early as Wednesday. But McConnell made no scheduling announcement on Tuesday, and instead reported that Trump "underscored the importance of accomplishing the first comprehensive tax reform in 31 years, which we fully intend to accomplish in the next few days."

Being hypocritically accused

Sexual harassment is the new Russia. Everywhere you look, there are stories about sexual harassment. Congress and Hollywood both expect more women to come forward. And in most cases, just like the accusations about Russia, the accuser is the one who is doing the deed. Think about it. Hillary Clinton was the most vocal about the current president doing underhanded deals with Russia. So far, nothing has been revealed about President Trump's dealings with Russia, but a lot has been revealed about Clinton's pay for influence deals with Russia. Clinton and her ilk were also most vocal about women's rights, yet they are now on the defensive about sexual assault--Hypocritical accusers, all.

Strangely enough, the liberals, the ones who speak the loudest against the misogyny and chauvinism of the conservative, are among the most egregious violators of women's rights-the men being accused of sexual harassment by dozens upon dozens of women. And the female protectors of women's rights, such as Nancy Pelosi has accused the women of of purposely victimizing Democratic male officeholders for their alleged sexual assaults and harassments. Hillary Clinton has done the same for decades-just ask the 18 or so women who were victims of her husband's inappropriate sexual exploits, or the victims of Anthony Weiner, Clinton aide Huma Abedin's estranged husband.

Liberals often are the quickest to judge their political opposition for even the slightest accusation. In reality, however, it is often the accuser who is committing worse than the accused. It's really called bearing false witness as well as judging others. Of course, many would give them a pass because they are not practicing Christians or Jews. Notwithstanding, we have seen Hillary Clinton toting a Bible when it is advantageous. Nancy Pelosi has often claimed to be following the Catholic doctrine-yet she promotes abortion and defends men in the Democratic Party accused of sexual harassment. In their eyes Republican candidate Roy Moore, now accused of something that allegedly happened 40 years ago, is guilty.

A lot is written in the Bible about false accusations and judging others hypocritically. Certainly, believers are held to a higher standard, but nonbelievers are not without accountability. In Romans 1, Paul writes about those who profess themselves wise, and change the glory of the "uncorruptible God" into an image made like to corruptible man. Paul lists the characteristics of these people-both male and female-and says they are without excuse. Verse 32 says, "Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them. Romans 2:3 continues: "And think you this, O man, that judges them which do such things, and does the same, that you shall escape the judgment of God?"Surely these will have their reward.

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!
