Focus on Israel

1. In Historic Move, Israel AG Oks Seizing Palestinian Land for Public Settler Use - Jerusalem Post

The state might change its interpretation of land seizure laws so that private Palestinian property in Area C of the West Bank could be expropriated for public use by Israelis, Attorney-General Mordechai Mandelblit indicated in a legal opinion released by his office on Wednesday.

The High Court of Justice and the state, including Mandelblit, have until recently held that private Palestinian property cannot be seized for the public good of settlers.

That interpretation has stood behind every High Court of Justice decision regarding the demolition of illegal settler homes on private Palestinian property or the construction of roads.

2. Islamic Jihad Raises Combat Preparedness to Highest Level, Monitors Israelis - Algemeiner

JNS.org - Amid rising tensions between the Gaza-based terror group Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) and Israel, PIJ has reportedly raised its level of readiness for conflict to the highest degree.

The terror group is also purportedly closely monitoring the movements of Israeli citizens in the communities bordering Gaza, the London-based Arabic daily newspaper Al-Hayatreported on Tuesday.

On Monday, the IDF deployed Iron Dome missile defense batteries throughout central Israel and began military drills in the vicinity of Gaza.

3. IDF steps up security measures around Gaza - World Israel News

The IDF has stepped up its level of alertness surrounding the Gaza Strip and has closed off large areas surrounding the Gaza Strip on Tuesday in anticipation of pending terror attack.

Several nature reserves in the area have been barred to hikers.

This step is the latest measure the IDF has taken to prepare for a possible attack after it deployed Iron Dome defense systems across the country, including in the Tel Aviv area, and placed forces on high alert, in anticipation of a revenge attack threatened by the Islamic Jihad Terror group.

4. Netanyahu: We offered assistance to Iran earthquake victims - Israel National News

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu revealed on Tuesday that Israel has offered medical assistance to victims of the earthquake in Iraq and Iran earlier this week.

Speaking via video conference at the closing session of the Jewish Federations of North America's General Assembly in Los Angeles, Netanyahu said Israel's quarrel is with the regimes, "but our humanity is greater than their hatred."

"We have no quarrel with the people in Iran but rather with the regime in Iran, which holds its citizens hostage and threatens to destroy Israel," the prime minister added.

5. Iran, Iraq reject Israeli offer to help earthquake victims - Jerusalem Online

According to an official in Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office, Israel's offer to help the earthquake victims in Iran and Iraq was immediately turned down. The official added that the quick rejection shows the Iranian regime's true colors.

Speaking in a video message that was broadcasted at the Jewish Federations of North America General Assembly on Tuesday, Netanyahu said that Israel offered to help Iran and Iraq via the Red Cross.

6. Massive Museum of the Bible Readies to Open in D.C.: Visitors Will Literally Be Able to Touch Jewish Temple - Breaking Christian News

The minds behind Washington, D.C.'s new Museum of the Bible are making sure to include the historic Land of the Bible to give visitors a more complete experience. There couldn't be a more natural fit.

Visitors to most museums are greeted with "Don't Touch" signs when it comes to ancient artifacts . . . but not here.

"I think one of the most emotional artifacts in [the] exhibition will be a one-ton stone from the Western Wall that people can touch," said Israel Antiquities Authority Curator Debora Ben Ami.

For centuries, people have traveled from around the world to Jerusalem to pray at the Western Wall. Now, one of these stones, from the Roman destruction of the Jewish Temple made the journey to the U.S. to be part of the new Museum of the Bible.

"We have actually a label [that says] 'Touch Me' because we think people would like to see and feel the connection between being in the States and touching a stone from Jerusalem from the first century BC," Ben Ami told CBN News. (Read more)

The Daily Brief

1. Report: Alabama State GOP Still Standing With Moore - Daily Caller

The Alabama state GOP is sticking with Alabama senate candidate Roy Moore amid ongoing allegations of sexual misconduct, according to a new report released Wednesday. The Alabama GOP decided in a committee meeting Wednesday to maintain support for Moore, according to NBC, although over 8 women have accused him of dating them or making sexual advances on them as teenagers, and multiple Republican senators have withdrawn the endorsements of Moore.

The Alabama GOP decided to support Moore even after a new poll released Wednesday, conducted by the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) and reviewed in part by Politico, shows Moore down 12 points to Democratic candidate Doug Jones. The poll represents a stunning drop for Moore, who was leading by 16 points in a similar NRSC poll conducted last month. Moore has continued to deny all of the allegations against him and has made clear that he will stay in the race which takes place on Dec. 12. (Read more)

- Father, we know Roy Moore has stood for Your Word and Your law, he has given a public confession of faith in You, so we know all his sin is covered under the blood. We pray the accuser of the brethren will not be able to destroy this capable, honorable man.

- Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right hand to accuse him. The Lord said to Satan, "The Lord rebuke you, Satan! Indeed, the Lord who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Is this not a brand plucked from the fire?" (Zechariah 3:1-2)

2. Rep. Mark Meadows pushes for a special counsel to investigate Clinton's role in Trump dossier - Washington Times

Rep. Mark Meadows said Thursday that a special counsel is needed to look into Hillary Clinton's role in the Trump dossier. "You know, this dossier that Fusion GPS did - actually we know that Hillary Clinton and the DNC hired a firm - Perkins Coie actually hired them to do the dossier," Mr. Meadows, North Carolina Republican, said on Fox News. "But there's other disturbing information that would suggest that the Obama campaign, the same month that she did that, paid another $900,000 to the same law firm."

Mr. Meadows was referring to the dossier that contained some unsubstantiated and salacious information about President Trump during the 2016 election. Republicans have expressed concern that the information was used to obtain a FISA warrant on Trump aides, which allowed the government to gather surveillance on them, despite the unverified claims. "And then, going further, the FBI looked at possibly paying the gentleman who wrote the dossier - didn't end up paying him - but reimbursed him. So I mean, when you see all these things coming together, the American people need an answer. It is about the rule of law and making sure that we get to the bottom of it," Mr. Meadows said. (Read more)

- Father, we pray for the exposure of all the people involved in using deception to undermine President Trump. We pray for whistle-blowers to come forward, willing to testify to the truth.

- Therefore do not fear them, for there is nothing concealed that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known. (Matthew 10:26)

3. Democrats introduce articles of impeachment against Trump - Washington Times

A handful of House Democrats officially introduced Wednesday five articles of impeachment against President Trump, accusing him of everything from breaking the Constitution's emoluments clause to being mean in his tweets about the press. Led by Rep. Steve Cohen of Tennessee, the Democrats say Mr. Trump has obstructed justice in his dealings with then-FBI Director James B. Comey, and his businesses are taking money in ways that are illegal under two parts of the Constitution. The lawmakers also said Mr. Trump has undermined the judiciary by using his pardon powers on former Sheriff Joe Arpaio and that he has hurt the First Amendment by berating news outlets or calling them "fake."

Congressional Republican aides said that while impeachment is a matter to be taken seriously, they doubted the move will gain much traction. "Under the Constitution, impeachment is an extraordinary remedy to remove certain elected officials from office who have committed high crimes and misdemeanors," said an aide on the House Judiciary Committee, which has jurisdiction over the issue. "It's the policy of the committee to consider impeachment articles if and when the constitutional criteria for impeachment exist." (Read more)

- Father, we pray You would turn these curses against President Trump back on the heads of his enemies.

- For the sins of their mouths, for the words of their lips, let them be caught in their pride. For the curses and lies they utter, consume them in your wrath, consume them till they are no more. Then it will be known to the ends of the earth that God rules over Jacob. (Psalm 59:12-13)

4. Trump Takes Foreign Policy Victory Lap In Speech - Daily Caller

President Donald Trump said that "America is back" in a speech Wednesday celebrating his foreign policy work. Trump proclaimed that he had inherited several challenges from previous administrations, including trade deficits and the spread of the Islamic State.

"Some of these mistakes were borne of indifference and neglect, others from naive thinking and misguided judgment," Trump said. "In some cases, the negative influence of partisan politics and special interests was to blame. But the one common thread behind all of these problems was a failure to protect and promote the interests of the American people and American workers. Upon my inauguration, I pledged that we would rebuild America, restore its economic strength and defend its national security." The president ran through his several foreign policy trips and confidently declared that he has implemented his pledge from Inauguration Day. "My fellow citizens, America is back and the future has never looked brighter," Trump declared during the closing of his speech. (Read more)

- Father, we are grateful for a President who promotes our nation and represents our interests around the world. We pray You would show Your hand upon him and shut the mouths of his enemies.

- The upright see and rejoice, but all the wicked shut their mouths. (Psalm 107:42)

5. Analysis: Senate Tax Plan Would Create 925,000 New Jobs, Increase GDP By 3.7% - Washington Free Beacon

The Senate's version of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act would create roughly 925,000 new jobs and increase gross domestic product by 3.7 percent, according to an analysis from the nonpartisan Tax Foundation. On the business side, the plan cuts the corporate tax rate from 35 percent to 20 percent, allows immediate expensing of capital investments, eliminates the corporate alternative minimum tax and moves the United States to a territorial system, just to name a few of the provisions. On the individual side, the proposal keeps the seven brackets, lowers the rates for several of them, nearly doubles the standard deduction, expands the child credit and eliminates the alternative minimum tax.

Senate Finance Committee Chair Orrin Hatch (R., Utah) said that the tax reform proposal will give a typical family of four a tax cut of roughly $1,400. "The Senate's version of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act is a pro-growth tax plan, which, when fully implemented, would spur an additional $1.26 trillion in federal revenues from economic growth," the Tax Foundation states. "These new revenues would reduce the cost of the plan substantially." (Read more)

- Father, we pray the House and Senate will quickly come into unity over the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, sending a final bill to President Trump before the end of the year.

- Do not hold against us the sins of past generations; may your mercy come quickly to meet us, for we are in desperate need. (Psalm 79:8)

6. Report: Skyrocketing Medicaid Enrollment Leading to Increased Government Dependency - Washington Free Beacon

A massive surge in Medicaid enrollment is leading to an increase in government dependency and crowding out funding for those vulnerable individuals who truly need the program, according to a report from the Foundation for Government Accountability. In 2000, there were 34 million Americans enrolled in the Medicaid program.

Next year that number is projected to more than double to 75 million. Most of the growth in this program is due to an increasing number of able-bodied adults applying for the program. In 2000, there were fewer than 7 million able-bodied adults on Medicaid. Now that number has quadrupled to 28 million able-bodied adults on the program.

The report attributes skyrocketing Medicaid enrollment over the last two decades to states increasing eligibility for able-bodied adults and Obamacare's Medicaid expansion, which added millions of able-bodied adults to the program. In 2000, Medicaid spending totaled $206 billion. Next year, taxpayers are expected to spend $633 billion on the program-an increase of 207 percent. For able-bodied workers, federal spending has increased at an even faster pace. In 2000, $19 billion was spent on able-bodied Medicaid enrollees and has increased by more than 700 percent to a projected $158 billion for 2018. (Read more)

- Father, we pray able-bodied people in our nation will not be able to take advantage of these programs intended for the poor and needy. We pray You would help our leaders develop policy guidelines that prevent abuse, but more than that, we pray those who are able to work will do so to improve their own lives.

- "In fact, when we were with you, this is what we commanded you: "If anyone isn't willing to work, he should not eat." (2 Thessalonians 3:10)

7. Sessions Expands List Of Sanctuary Jurisdictions That Could Lose Federal Funds - Daily Caller

The Department of Justice on Wednesday announced it has sent letters to 29 jurisdictions warning that they are in danger of losing federal grant money if they cannot certify compliance with a key federal immigration statute. The jurisdictions have until Dec. 8 to provide further information to the DOJ that local policies and laws do not contravene 8 USC 1373, a section of the immigration code that bars local officials from limiting communication with federal authorities about a person's immigration status.

"Jurisdictions that adopt so-called 'sanctuary policies' also adopt the view that the protection of criminal aliens is more important than the protection of law-abiding citizens and of the rule of law," Attorney General Jeff Sessions said in a statement. "I urge all jurisdictions found to be potentially out of compliance in this preliminary review to reconsider their policies that undermine the safety of their residents." Under DOJ policy outlined by Sessions earlier this year, a sanctuary jurisdiction is any state or local government that has "laws, policies, or practices" that violate section 1373. Sessions had previously notified five major jurisdictions - New York, Philadelphia, New Orleans, Chicago and surrounding Cook County - that their policies on immigration enforcement met that definition. (Read more)

- Father, we pray our law enforcement and border security officers will be supported through law and policy that help them remove criminals from our nation.

- "God will judge those on the outside; but as the Scriptures say, "You must remove the evil person from among you." (1 Corinthians 5:13)

8. US House committee unanimously passes Taylor Force Act - Times of Israel

The US House Foreign Affairs Committee on Wednesday unanimously passed the Taylor Force Act, legislation that would cut US funding to the Palestinian Authority unless it discontinues its practice of paying monthly stipends to the families of terrorists who kill Israelis. The legislation includes three exceptions, allowing for US funding to Palestinian water and childhood vaccination programs and to East Jerusalem hospitals. In the same session, US lawmakers also passed two other bills designed to confront Palestinian terrorism.

The Hamas Human Shields Prevention Act, which cleared the panel with broad bipartisan support, would sanction foreign governments, entities, and individuals for providing financial and material support to the terrorist group Hamas, while the Palestinian International Terrorism Support Prevention Act would also impose sanctions on foreign governments and entities that support Palestinian terrorism. (Read more)

- Father, we pray the Taylor Force Act will be signed into law, and that not one penny of Federal funds will ever again be distributed to organizations which directly or indirectly encourage or support terrorists and their families.

- But as for me, I shall forever declare the praises of the God of Jacob. "I will cut off the strength of evil men," says the Lord, "and increase the power of good men in their place." (Psalm 75:10)

9. Pence Trying to Fast-Track U.S. Help to Iraqi Christians, Yazidis, Other Religious Minorities - Washington Free Beacon

Vice President Mike Pence is working to quickly fulfill an October pledge to bypass the United Nations and more effectively direct U.S. aid to help Christians, Yazidis, and other religious minorities in Iraq who are victims of genocide perpetuated by the Islamic State. In an effort to swiftly implement the policy, Pence on Tuesday convened a White House meeting with top U.S. officials, including U.N. ambassador Nikki Haley, USAID director Mark Green, Deputy Secretary of State John Sullivan, and Office of Management and Budget Director Mick Mulvaney.

Pence tweeted about the "important" meeting afterward, promising once again that "help is on the way" to these Iraqi communities trying to rebuild. Former Rep. Frank Wolf (R., Va.), who spent decades as a human rights champion in Congress and is now serving as a senior fellow at the 21st Century Wilberforce Initiative, also attended the White House meeting Tuesday. Wolf said he was encouraged that all the officials present appeared to share the same goals and praised the Trump administration for taking action to quickly institute the new policy. (Read more)

- Father, we pray You would use these changes to bring healing and restoration to Christian and Yazidi communities in Iraq and Syria.

- He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. (Psalm 147:3)

10. US, Russia agree on terms for division of post-war Syria, open door for Iranian presence in region - JOL News

Hours after the Russian foreign minister denied that his country was working to withdraw the Iranian presence from Syria, US President Trump and Russian President Putin agree on a partition map for Syria which will allow Iran to establish a military presence just 3 miles from the border with Israel.

After the presidents of the United States and Russia both approved the non-escalation agreement signed in Amman this week, the first draft of the "buffer zone map", which defines which forces will be allowed to operate in Syria, has been publicized- and has government officials in Jerusalem concerned. The map is written in English and in Russian and outlines the full deployment of forces in Syria after six years of bloody civil war. The partition map divides the country into a number of zones based on the military force that currently has control of each area. (Read more)

- Father, we pray Iran will not be able to establish a foothold in Syria or Lebanon. Cause division between Iran, Syria, Lebanon and Russia so that they cannot accomplish anything together.

- I will bring the four winds against Elam from the four corners of the heavens, and I will scatter them to all these winds. There will not be a nation to which Elam's banished ones will not go. (Jeremiah 49:36)

11. House GOP set for big tax win - The Hill

House Republicans are poised Thursday to pass a sweeping tax-reform package that, if enacted, would deliver the first major legislative victory of the Trump era.

President Trump will visit Capitol Hill ahead of the vote to rally support, but it appears there will be little need to twist arms.

Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) and fellow leaders have been in a buoyant mood all week, signaling they have the 217 votes needed to pass the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. (Read more)

- Father, we pray the Tax Cuts and Jobs act will pass the House of Representatives today, and we pray the final reconciliation with the Senate will bring relief to American families and businesses. We pray for Your blessing on this process.

- People cry out under a load of oppression; they plead for relief from the arm of the powerful. (Job 35:9)

12. In the Capitol's Shadow, Massive Museum of the Bible Readies for Opening - Christian Headlines

In the new Museum of the Bible is a room full of Bibles, color-coded to show the more than 2,000 languages into which the holy book has been at least partially translated - and the similar number for which translation has "not yet begun."

. . . The museum's front entrance features a gateway with two 40-foot brass replicas of the Book of Genesis as it appeared in the Gutenberg Bible, the version that first brought the holy book to the masses in the 1400s. Just beyond these panels is a glass vestibule featuring an artistic rendering of Psalm 19 ("The heavens declare the glory of God"), inspired by the Bodmer Papyri fragment that is one of the oldest artifacts in the museum's collection.

Museum staffers will offer visitors heading to the three floors of central exhibits tabletlike digital guides to help them plan their trek based on their personal interests and the amount of time they have to spend in the museum that took three years and $500 million to build. Though the Green family contributed the bulk of the funding, smaller financial gifts have come from schoolchildren sending in a dollar a month as well as Catholics, Jews and atheists, Summers said.(Read more)

- Father, we rejoice in this beautiful museum that honors Your Word. We pray many will come to faith in You through experiencing Your Word and Your Presence in this wonderful place.

- When the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and honored the word of the Lord; and all who were appointed for eternal life believed. (Acts 13:48)

Sexual assault and harassment epidemic

Literally hundreds of women are claiming sexual harassment, sexual assault, rape and groping as commonplace in the culture of Hollywood. Likewise, the political culture has been saturated with stories of accusations by women of a similar nature. For example, California Democratic Congresswoman Jackie Speier told NBC that $15 million of taxpayer money has been paid out over the past decade to settle sexual harassment lawsuits against Congressmen. Many are familiar with the claims against Republican Alabama Senatorial candidate Roy Moore. While people are supposed to be innocent until proven guilty, just the claim of anything sexually improper takes on a particular stigma.

This appears epidemic in both entertainment and politics. People's lives are ruined by it. If someone is falsely accused, their life forever carries that mark. For those who are assaulted, abused, harassed, or raped, they carry an often insurmountable burden with them the rest of their lives. This is an issue that is coming to light. The perverse way that it is seemingly imbedded in the culture of politics and entertainment should be a wake up call to each of us. You may not be aware how domestic violence or sexual assault impacts your community. It is often the hidden issue. The facts, however, demonstrate just how widespread it is.

In the US, every 9 seconds a woman is assaulted or beaten; one in every three women is abused during her lifetime; Domestic violence is the leading cause of injury to women-more than car accidents, muggings, and rapes combined; 10 million children witness some form of domestic violence every year; Nearly one in five teenage girls say a boy friend has threatened violence or self-harm if presented with a breakup; Everyday more than three women are murdered by their husbands or boyfriends; Men are twice as likely to abuse their wives if they witnessed domestic violence as children. These are unbelievable, but they are real. So when we see accusations in Hollywood and among politicians, there may be more fire than smoke.

This scenario needs a lot of prayer. It is a very difficult and often taboo topic. But it is real to many people. It is a sad state of affairs for our nation and our people. Elected people should know how to behave themselves. Entertainers are not exempt from the law or doing the right thing. In all things, we should hold accountability where we can on this issue. If we hear of it and can stop it, we should speak up. Teach our children the right way. Be an example to others. Plead the cause of those who have no voice in the matter. Victims come in many forms with such things. As Jesus said in Matthew 7:12, "Therefore all things whatsoever you would that men should do to you, do you even to them: for this is the law and the prophets."

Moore about sexual harassment

It's amazing how the news media has all of a sudden gotten "religion" about the sexual harassment and assault of women. The media's filter seems disingenuous when considering how all this is being reported. There are scores, if not hundreds, of women coming forward with their stories about Hollywood-Bill Cosby, Harvey Weinstein, and several other men-had reputations of such acts, but rarely did anyone come forward for fear of losing their careers. There were politicians, too. What about Hillary Clinton's friend Anthony Weiner? Or even more so, Clinton and her husband's association with registered pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, who was known to have orgies with young girls on his plane.

Fox News reported in May 2016 that former President Bill Clinton took 26 trips with Epstein aboard his "Lolita Express" aircraft. Fox News reported that Epstein "spent 13 months in prison and home arrest for solicitation and procurement of minors for prostitution. He allegedly had a team of traffickers who procured girls as young as 12 to service his friends on "Orgy Island," an estate on Epstein's 72-acre island, called Little St. James, in the U.S. Virgin Islands." And this is a story that appeared during the last election cycle. It was documented with flight ledgers and court accounts. But the rest of the mainstream media downplayed it to protect his wife's presidential candidacy.

For all the media play on Judge Roy Moore, who has not been charged or tried in any of the cases that are being reported against him, there was not the same standard applied to the Clintons. I remember when I was a political consultant, a Democrat consultant told several of us about the Clinton's sexual exploits during a stay in Columbus, Ohio when Jimmy Carter was running for President. The media knew about it then, too, but did nothing. There is a public list of over 18 women claiming sexual assault, sexual harassment, sexual affairs, and rape against Bill Clinton. Hillary Clinton made women's advocacy a cornerstone of her campaign, yet her and the mainstream media joined efforts to destroy these women through character assassination.

Clarence Thomas, Herman Cain, Roy Moore and many other conservatives are also victims of this double standard by the left-wingers in the media. If you are conservative, you are guilty until proven innocent when it comes to sex allegations. If you are a liberal, the women are liars and you might just have been in the wrong place at the wrong time. This is how politics works in this day and age. It is why few good people want to run for any office. It takes only one story to destroy a lifetime of work. Character assassination is a deadly art practiced by wicked hearts. As is written in Jeremiah 17:9, "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?" Right is right. Wrong is wrong. We must be discerning in these days of deception.

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

Please find below a sampling of the Word that went forth that day. (Names of members not included here.)

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths."

(Proverbs 3: 5,6)

"Let your eyes look straight ahead,
And your eyelids look right before you.
Ponder the path of your feet,
And let all your ways be established.
Do not turn to the right or the left;
Remove your foot from evil."

(Proverbs 4: 25-27)

"Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You." (Psalm 119:11)

"Create in me a clean heart, O God,
And renew a steadfast spirit within me.
Do not cast me away from Your presence,
And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me.
Restore to me the joy of Your salvation,
And uphold me by Your generous Spirit."

(Psalm 51:10-12)

And he believed! Believed God! God declared him "Set-Right-with-God." (Genesis 15:6; The Message)

[God's promise to Abraham]

"This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success." (Joshua 1:8)

" . . . for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, . . ." (Romans 3:23)

" But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8)

"Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." (2 Timothy 2:15)

"The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it." (John 1:5)

- Father, we thank You that Your light shone in the Halls of Congress this week, and that it continues to shine in the hearts of all who serve you there, daily. Amen!

Let all things their Creator bless, And worship Him in humbleness, O praise Him! Alleluia! Praise, praise the Father, praise the Son, And praise the Spirit, Three in One!

Signs and Wonders

Fireball seen streaking across western U.S. sky

Astronomers say the bright light that streaked across the night sky Tuesday was "almost certainly" a meteor.

The city of Phoenix captured the illumination on one of its observation cameras and posted it to Twitter.

In the video, a large, glowing bulb appears in the top-right frame and then fades out in three seconds. A smaller light can be seen in the lower portion of the frame, off in the horizon.

It happened around 8:30 p.m. MT.

The American Meteor Society received 110 fireball reports from Arizona, California, New Mexico, Nevada and Utah on Tuesday.

"Given the speed and everything, this was almost certainly a meteor rather than a piece of space junk," said Laurence Garvie, curator of Arizona State University's Center for Meteorite Studies. (USA TODAY) Read more.

"I will show wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below, blood and fire and billows of smoke." (Acts 2:19)

The Good News Corner

Massive Crowds Encountered Christ, along with Salvations and Healings, at Reinhardt Bonnke's Farewell Crusade

(Nigeria)-[CBN News] After a remarkable 50 years of preaching the Gospel throughout Africa, Christ for All Nation's Reinhard Bonnke has high expectations that his farewell crusade will have a major long-term impact on the nation of Nigeria.

Massive crowds flocked to Lagos for the crusade, which took place November 8th, November 12th. There, they heard the well-respected German evangelist take to the stage and preach the Gospel for the final time.

Many things have changed since Bonnke's last crusade in Lagos 17 years ago. In 2000, some 3.5 million people responded to Christ. However, that same hunger for the Gospel doesn't seem to be fading in Nigeria.

Thousands of people gave their lives to Christ at this latest event and experienced miraculous healing.

"I experienced more than an encounter," one attendee told correspondent Peter Wooding of the Global News Alliance. "The Holy Spirit moved in a tremendous way. Myself, I have so many testimonies to give. Heart pains ... and my left ear was blocked. But everything opened after the prayer of the servant of God here."

Others said they also felt the presence of God.

"You feel the raw presence of God. I've come to receive from God as much as I can," said another.

About CHPP

About Capitol Hill Prayer Partners

Our Mission Statement

Capitol Hill Prayer Partners (CHPP) is a ministry which is positioned on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., helping members of the Body of Christ to "pray for those in authority over us" in our federal government. Our primary purpose is to offer intercession on site for the members of Congress and their staffs each day that the Senate and the House of Representatives are in session; and our chief prayer focus is that "God's will be done in earth, as it is in heaven." [Matthew 6:10].

Because Jesus Christ has shed His blood for all, we, too, pray for ALL, in a nonpartisan manner. Also, because the scriptures indicate that "the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" (James 4:17), we are confident that fervent prayer, offered in the halls of the highest chambers of government in our land, can avail much for America. Capitol Hill Prayer Partners welcomes those who feel called to join us, engaging in this strategic work of intercession for our nation: "For there is no power but of God; the powers that be are ordained of God." [Romans 13:1]
Friends may participate by receiving our daily prayer alerts. You may contact us at chpp1994@gmail.com for more information. CHPP is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt ministry. Thank you and God bless you!
