Focus on Israel

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke Tuesday with Russian President Vladimir Putin by phone about a ceasefire deal in the Syrian civil war and Iranian presence near Israel's borders with the war-torn country, the Prime Minister's Office said.

2. 'Huge opportunity to escape two-state solution paradigm' - Israel National News

Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked spoke on Monday evening at a conference held by Arutz Sheva and the Orthodox Jewish Chamber of Commerce at the King David Hotel in Jerusalem.

"I think that Arutz Sheva symbolizes right-wing, Zionist media, it is one of the leaders I would say, in the field of the Israeli media, and it's not an obvious thing in Israel unfortunately, but Arutz Sheva is definitely the leader. It gives us the power to act and to publicize what we are doing.

"It's a very unique time for us in the Ministry of Justice and in Israel. During the recent months we're actually changing the old rules, the old paradigm regarding the law in Judea and Samaria. We started from the Regulation Law, and we are doing a lot of very important things regarding the settlements in Judea and Samaria, we are finally building 300 units in Beit El, and just this week we approved building 91 houses in Ofra, something that was stuck for a long time. Haresha is another small village that will now be able to be developed after a recent decision of the Attorney General, and we are doing a lot of effort in the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Justice in order to strengthen our presence in Judea and Samaria.

3. Citing 'dramatic regional changes,' defense minister asks for $1B budget increase - Israel Hayom

Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman on Monday demanded a substantial increase to the defense budget, citing "dramatic regional changes."

Defense officials said the military and political changes affecting Israel's borders with Syria and Lebanon mandate a substantial increase to defense spending if the IDF is to meet its strategic and operational objectives.

4. Lebanon army chief warns of 'Israeli threat,' urges border vigilance - Israel Hayom

Lebanon's army chief urged his soldiers on Tuesday to stand fully ready at the border with Israel, to face the "threats of the Israeli enemy."

Gen. Joseph Aoun also called on the troops to stay vigilant for the "good implementation" of U.N. resolution 1701 to "preserve stability" on the border with Israel. A senior Israeli defense official dismissed Aoun's warning and the suggestion that heightened alert was necessary as "nonsense."

The "cessation of hostilities" resolution ended the destructive war in 2006 between Israel and Lebanese terrorist group Hezbollah, which is backed by Iran. The two sides have since avoided a major conflict.

5. Rouhani warns Mideast countries to not 'fall for Israel's trap' - YNET News

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani called on Middle Eastern countries Tuesday to beware of Israel's actions, cautioning them to "not fall for Israel's trap."

Rouhani spoke on the backdrop of Lebanese political turmoil, as part of which Prime Minister Saad al-Hariri resigned.

1. Liberal Millionaires Group Seeks to 'Fundamentally Reset' America's Ideology and Economy - Washington Free Beacon

A group of deep-pocketed progressive millionaires seeks to "fundamentally reset" America's ideology and economy and "expose the dogma of free enterprise, limited government, and traditional family values," according to a brochure obtained by the Washington Free Beacon at a secretive progressive dark money donor conference. Patriotic Millionaires's newest organizational overview, which is not the same brochure that is currently available on its website, was obtained by the Free Beacon at the Democracy Alliance's fall investment conference held last week at the swanky La Costa Resort in Carlsbad, Calif. Each Democracy Alliance member vows to steer hundreds of thousands in funding to approved left-wing organizations the group supports.

Race, immigration, reproductive freedom, social equality, mass incarceration, and global climate change are labeled as the group's most pressing issues, suggesting they can be dealt with if "a political economy capable of meeting the basic needs of our citizens" is established. The group hopes to establish these tenets as the dominant political system in the United States by 2026, when America celebrates its 250th birthday, its brochure states. (Read more)

- Father, we pray the Democracy Alliance's plans will fail completely, humiliating all who are involved - because their plans are directly against Your Will and Your Word.

- There is no wisdom, no insight, no plan that can succeed against the Lord.
(Proverbs 21:30)

2. FBI has not verified Trump dossier - Washington Examiner

FBI and Justice Department officials have told congressional investigators in recent days that they have not been able to verify or corroborate the substantive allegations of collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign outlined in the Trump dossier. The FBI received the first installment of the dossier in July 2016. It received later installments as they were written at the height of the presidential campaign, which means the bureau has had more than a year to investigate the allegations in the document. The dossier was financed by the Hillary Clinton campaign and compiled by former British spy Christopher Steele.

An August 24, 2017 subpoena from the House Intelligence Committee to the FBI and Justice Department asked for information on the bureau's efforts to validate the dossier. Specifically, the subpoena demanded "any documents, if they exist, that memorialize DOJ and/or FBI efforts to corroborate, validate, or evaluate information provided by Mr. Steele and/or sub-sources and/or contained in the 'Trump Dossier.'" According to sources familiar with the matter, neither the FBI nor the Justice Department has provided documents in response to that part of the committee's subpoena. But in face-to-face briefings with congressional staff, according to those sources, FBI and DOJ officials have said they cannot verify the dossier's charges of a conspiracy between the Russian government and the Trump campaign. (Read more)

- Father, we thank You for continued revelations and pray the House Intelligence Committee will find the whole truth regarding the Trump dossier.

- The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, (Romans 1:18)

3. Fusion GPS paid journalists, court papers confirm - Washington Examiner

Newly filed court documents confirm that Fusion GPS, the company mostly responsible for the controversial "Trump dossier" on presidential candidate Donald Trump, made payments to three journalists between June 2016 until February 2017. The revelation could be a breakthrough for House Republicans, who are exploring whether Fusion GPS used the dossier, which was later criticized for having inaccurate information on Trump, to feed anti-Trump stories to the press during and after the presidential campaign. The three journalists who were paid by Fusion GPS are known to have reported on "Russia issues relevant to [the committee's] investigation," the House Intelligence Committee said in a court filing.

But the recipients' names, the amounts, and purposes of those payments were either redacted from the documents that Fusion GPS filed to the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia or were not disclosed. Fusion has asked the court to issue a restraining order against the House committee, which is demanding documents from the company that, among other things, explain the payments it made to reporters. Most of the documents sought are banking records. (Read more)

- Father, reveal everything that exposes the truth regarding what was done to influence and corrupt our political process.

- Behold, you have sinned against the Lord, and be sure your sin will find you out. (Numbers 32:23b)

4. Trump expresses grief over killed Border Patrol agent - Washington Times

President Trump on Monday mourned the death of a Border Patrol agent who was killed in an ambush attack in Texas near the Mexico border. The president acknowledged the killing when wishing Americans a happy Thanksgiving, sending his wishes "especially to our brave men and women serving in our military, and our Border Patrol and ICE agents along the very dangerous southern border. As you heard, we lost a Border Patrol officer yesterday, and another one was brutally beaten and badly, badly hurt. Looks like he'll make it," Mr. Trump said at the start of a Cabinet meeting.

The two agents were attacked Sunday in West Texas. They were bludgeoned, perhaps with rocks, according to reports. The Border Patrol released few details about the circumstances surrounding the death of Agent Rogelio Martinez, 36, including whether investigators have any suspects or think smugglers or illegal immigrants were involved. The agent who survived is in the hospital. Mr. Trump said the violence underscored the urgent need for a border wall. "We're going to have the wall as part of what we're doing. We need it," he said. "It's rough territory. That's where the drugs are coming in, a lot of things are happening along the border, the southern border, and we're going to straighten it out." (Read more)

- Father, we mourn over this life taken, Agent Rogelio Martinez, and pray Your comfort for his family. We also lift up the other officer who was badly injured to make a full recovery.

- 'For I will restore you to health And I will heal you of your wounds,' declares the Lord. (Jeremiah 30:17a)

5. Justice Department Vows to Overturn California Judge's Ruling on Sanctuary Cities and States - Washington Free Beacon

The Trump administration has vowed to overturn a federal judge's decision to block President Trump's executive order cutting off federal funds to sanctuary cities, counties, and states. A federal judge in Northern California determined Monday that Trump cannot place new conditions on spending Congress has approved. The judge's ruling responded to lawsuits brought by two California counties, San Francisco and Santa Clara, taking exception to Trump's threat to cut off federal grants to localities that limit law enforcement's cooperation with U.S. immigration authorities. The Justice Department late Monday countered that cities, counties, and states do not have the ability to flout federal law and continue receiving federal money without any repercussions.

"The District Court exceeded its authority today when it barred the president from instructing his cabinet members to enforce existing law," said Justice Department spokeswoman Devin O'Malley. "The Justice Department will vindicate the president's lawful authority to direct the executive branch." (Read more)

- Father, we pray for alignment to the rule of law between the Executive and Judicial branches of our government. We pray the Executive branch will not be hindered from doing what is necessary to keep our nation safe.

- "Perhaps the Lord will help us, for nothing can hinder the Lord. He can win a battle whether he has many warriors or only a few!" (1 Samuel 14:6)

6. The Trump Era of Antitrust Enforcement Dawns - Breitbart

The Justice Department filed its much-anticipated lawsuit to block AT&T's $85.4 billion bid for Time Warner, signaling the end of the Obama era of antitrust and the beginning of the Trump era. The Obama administration's Justice Department, for example, approved Comcast's acquisition of NBCUniversal in 2011, imposing numerous conditions that demanded a level of scrutiny and regulatory vigilance that has been notably absent in the years since. For many on the political left and right, that deal has come to stand for the proposition that so-called behavioral remedies are not able to effectively avoid anti-competitive harm in the digital-everything age.

Makan Delrahim, the Justice Department's top antitrust lawyer, made this point in a speech to fellow lawyers last week. "Behavioral remedies presume that the Justice Department should serve as a roving ombudsman of the affairs of business. Even if we wanted to do this, we often don't have the skills or the tools to do so effectively," he said. Delrahim's speech made clear that in his view-which is to say, now the view of the U.S. government-"antitrust is law enforcement, not regulation." That means that effective antitrust enforcement should not require erecting new powers for the administrative state but instead assure that markets can function properly. (Read more)

- Father, we pray Makan Delrahim's strategy of increasing business competition and effective law enforcement will provide long-term benefits to our markets and ultimately, our citizens.

- Wise words bring many benefits, and hard work brings rewards. (Proverbs 12:14)

7. FCC Chairman Ajit Pai Announces December Vote to Repeal Net Neutrality - Breitbart

Chairman Pai plans to unveil his proposed rulemaking to repeal net neutrality on Wednesday. Pai declared in a statement on Tuesday:

For almost twenty years, the Internet thrived under the light-touch regulatory approach established by President Clinton and a Republican Congress. This bipartisan framework led the private sector to invest $1.5 trillion building communications networks throughout the United States. And it gave us an Internet economy that became the envy of the world. But in 2015, the prior FCC bowed to pressure from President Obama. On a party-line vote, it imposed heavy-handed, utility-style regulations upon the Internet. That decision was a mistake. It's depressed investment in building and expanding broadband networks and deterred innovation.

Today, I have shared with my colleagues a draft order that would abandon this failed approach and return to the longstanding consensus that served consumers well for decades. Under my proposal, the federal government will stop micromanaging the Internet. Instead, the FCC would simply require Internet service providers to be transparent about their practices so that consumers can buy the service plan that's best for them and entrepreneurs and other small businesses can have the technical information they need to innovate. (Read more)

- Father, we thank You for Chairman Pai and his efforts to deregulate the internet. We pray his proposal will receive wide, bipartisan support.

- Good planning and hard work lead to prosperity. (Proverbs 21:5a)

8. Trump Says Alabama Can't Afford To Elect A Democrat - Daily Caller

President Donald Trump told reporters Tuesday that Alabama shouldn't elect a Democrat over embattled Republican Senate candidate Roy Moore. "I can tell you one thing for sure. We don't need a liberal person in there, a Democrat, [Doug] Jones. I've looked at his record, it's terrible on crime, it's terrible on the border, it's terrible on the military," Trump said.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and National Republican Campaign Committee chairman Cory Gardner have both asked Moore to drop out of the Alabama race after several women accused the Senate candidate of having sexual encounters with them when they were minors. White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders has said repeatedly that Trump wants Alabama voters to decide who their next senator should be. The president left open the possibility Tuesday that he would visit the Yellowhammer State to campaign for Moore. (Read more)

- Father, we pray the people of Alabama will have discernment as they go to the polls in December to elect a new Senator. We pray for Your choice, a man of integrity who will do Your will.

- But one who looks intently at the perfect law, the law of liberty, and abides by it, not having become a forgetful hearer but an effectual doer, this man will be blessed in what he does. (James 1:25)

9. Court Strikes Abortion Buffer Zone Law - Liberty Council

A New Jersey federal court struck down a City of Englewood eight-foot buffer zone that prohibits pro-life speech near abortion facilities. Applying the U.S. Supreme Court's unanimous 2014 opinion in McCullen v. Coakley, which held unconstitutional an identically worded Massachusetts buffer zone law, the New Jersey court ruled the ordinance violates the First Amendment.

The decision provides fresh optimism for Liberty Counsel's lawsuit against the City of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, to strike down the twenty-foot buffer zone ordinance passed by the City at the behest of Planned Parenthood. The Harrisburg ordinance violates the constitutional rights of Liberty Counsel's clients Becky Biter and Colleen Reilly, who are Christian sidewalk counsellors being prevented from telling women about alternatives to abortion they will not hear once inside Planned Parenthood. Just as in Englewood, the Harrisburg City Council failed to consider any less restrictive alternatives to its speech ban, opting instead to become enthusiastic agents for the Planned Parenthood agenda.

Both New Jersey and Pennsylvania are in the same federal appellate jurisdiction, covered by the U.S. Third Circuit Court of Appeals, where Liberty Counsel has already secured an early victory in the Harrisburg case. The Harrisburg trial court is now bound by the favorable Third Circuit ruling as the case proceeds, and should be favorably influenced by the plainly sound reasoning of its sister court in New Jersey.

"The New Jersey decision is a great example of clear constitutional reasoning, uncorrupted by the 'abortion distortion' that has pervaded so many court decisions since Roe v. Wade," said Mat Staver, Founder and Chairman of Liberty Counsel."The decision should be an encouragement to pro-life sidewalk counsellors around the country, and a warning to state and local governments who increasingly abdicate their duties to uphold the constitutional rights of their citizens in order to carry water for Planned Parenthood," said Staver. (Read more)

- Father, we thank You for this decision and pray for the removal of all "Buffer Zone" laws around the country. We pray Christian counselors who want to help these women choose life for their babies will not be prevented from speaking to them.

- Now, choose life! Then you and your children may live. (Deuteronomy 30:19b)

10. Rex Tillerson's State Department Marks 'Transgender Day of Remembrance' - Breitbart

A State Department press release in the name of Secretary of State Rex Tillerson is honoring the memory of the so-called "transgender" individuals around the world on "Transgender Day of Remembrance. On Transgender Day of Remembrance, the United States honors the memory of the many transgender individuals who have lost their lives to acts of violence," the statement read. The Day of Remembrance was invented in 1999 by San Francisco activist Gwendolyn Ann Smith. It is not recognized by Congress and a resolution introduced this year by Rep. Joseph Kennedy (D-MA) to change that has received little traction. According to a State Department spokesman, the department has issued a statement in the name of the secretary for Transgender Day of Remembrance since 2013.

The statement in Tillerson's name continues, claiming that transgender rights are enshrined in the U.S. Constitution: Transgender individuals and their advocates, along with lesbian, gay, bisexual and intersex persons, are facing increasing physical attacks and arbitrary arrests in many parts of the world. Often these attacks are perpetrated by government officials, undermining the rule of law. Transgender persons should not be subjected to violence or discrimination, and the human rights they share with all persons should be respected.

On this Transgender Day of Remembrance, the United States remains committed to advancing the human rights and fundamental freedoms of all persons. These principles are inherent in our own Constitution and drive the diplomacy of the United States. (Read more)

- Father, our nation desires to uphold the human rights of all individuals, but we pray this statement will not stand as an endorsement of this lifestyle.

- God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. (Genesis 1:27)

What has changed since 1620?

My grandfather 13 generations back was William Bradford, co writer of the Mayflower Compact and eventual leader of the Pilgrims who came to America on the Mayflower in 1620. There were some 102 passengers and about 30 crewmen on that ship that braved horrible weather, disease, and other hardships to come to this new place that later would become the greatest Christian nation in the world. Bradford wrote, "So they committed themselves to the will of God, and resolved to proceed. In several of these storms the wind was so strong and the seas so high that they could not carry a knot of sail, but were forced to hull for many days." The trip in of itself to find a place to worship without persecution was most difficult.

Once landed, it was no picnic either. Bradford says, "But soon a most lamentable blow fell upon them. In two or three month's time half of their company died...scarcely 50 remained, and sometimes two or three persons died in a day. In the time of worst distress, there were but six or seven sound persons, who, to their great commendation be it spoken, spared no pains night or day, but with great toil and at the risk of their own health, fetched wood, made fires, prepared food for the sick, made their beds, washed their infected clothes, dressed and undressed them; in a word did all the homely and necessary services for them which dainty and queasy stomachs cannot endure to hear mentioned."

"...And what I have said of these few, I should say of many others who died in this general visitation, and others yet living, that while they had health or strength, they forsook none that had need of them. I doubt not that their recompense is with the Lord." Their Virginia Company Charter, however, called for common ownership of land, property, food, drink, clothing, and provisions. Bradford saw that this socialist experiment was detrimental to the colony because it inspired laziness and a lack of productivity. Bradford then did away with this structure, giving ownership of land to each person and two days a week for "their own private employment." This was the first capitalist system and the colony then prospered.

The headlines 397 years later are that over 40 million Americans (the total population of California and Connecticut combined) will eat their Thanksgiving dinner purchased by food stamps. Liberals say without the government, these people would starve. No, I don't believe it. Without the government, the citizens across the land would be blessed as the Pilgrims were by reaching out to their neighbor and helping him from the goodness of their hearts. We have come full circle in nearly 400 years. We are now in a stage of socialism where the government is truly robbing its citizenry of blessing others, promoting laziness and lack of productivity.

But you know, just as Bradford knew in 1621, government won't save you. Only the Lord will save you. He chooses to do it through his people. As written in 2 Corinthians 9:11-12, "Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causes through us thanksgiving to God. For the administration of this service not only supplies the want of the saints, but is abundant also by many thanksgivings unto God." How much spiritual starvation and dependency on the false god of government will it take before we begin to collectively change our hearts? Like Bradford, we who know the truth, must lead in truth.

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

ISIS Calls for Assassination of Barron Trump

Shares child's personal details

Pro-ISIS internet channels are calling for the assassination of President Donald Trump's son, Barron, and have shared personal details of the child's life on its social media networks, including the address of his school, according to a media monitoring organization.

ISIS supporters, on a well-known Telegram channel, shared the name and address of Barron Trump's school and are calling for backers of the terrorist organization to assassinate him, according to the Middle East Media Research Institute, or MEMRI.

The initial message, sent on Nov. 21 by an ISIS supporter on Telegram, "called for the assassination of Barron Trump, and shared the name of the school that Barron attends along with a Google map pinpointing its location," according to MEMRI, which shares images of this messages with reporters.

"Using the hashtag 'handle the son of the mule of America,' the supporter, who uses the name "Dak Al-Munafiqeen,' Arabic for 'striking the hypocrites,' wrote: 'Barron Trump goes to this school in Washington,'" according to MEMRI.

"The post was followed by a photo of Barron Trump," according to MEMRI's research. "To widely disseminate the call for assassination, several pro-ISIS Telegram channels have shared and forwarded the post."

(Sources: Breaking Christian News and Free Beacon)
- Father God, we ask for Your divine protection around the Trump family, especially young Barron Trump. We pray You will lift anxiety from him and that he will experience Your peace through Your Presence with him. We also pray for President and Melania Trump to trust Barron to Your care.

- Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you. (1 Peter 5:7)

No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And their righteousness is from Me," Says the Lord. Isaiah 54:17)

A Victory in the Senate

Qualified Conservative Judges Score Huge Victory in the Senate

In November 2016, the American people went to the polls and selected Donald Trump as the person who would be tasked with appointing judges for vacancies on the federal bench. At the same time, they elected a U.S. Senate to be tasked with providing advice and consent on these nominees. Both of these responsibilities are enshrined in Article II, Section 2 of the U.S. Constitution.

For too long, however, the U.S. Senate has gone beyond what the Constitution requires and has instituted its own customs and courtesies that have sometimes allowed a single senator to prevent a president's nominee from even receiving a hearing-much less a vote in the U.S. Senate.

Maybe the most egregious example of this is what has become known as the "blue slip." At its root, the blue slip is a process by which the Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman solicits the advice of a nominee's two home-state senators. In some cases, however, a single home-state senator has been able to effectively veto a president's nominee simply by declining to return the blue slip. This extra-Constitutional maneuver has often allowed one Senator to override the will of both the president and a majority of the full Senate. It is why we called for Leader McConnell and Chairman Grassley to move forward with the consideration of nominees who have not had their blue slips returned.
Fortunately, both Leader McConnell and Chairman Grassley have demonstrated a proper understanding of their obligations under the Constitution, and Chairman Grassley has scheduled a hearing for two judges who have not had both their blue slips returned. This will provide the Judiciary Committee and the full U.S. Senate with an opportunity to do its job and will prevent a single U.S. senator from overriding the will of the full chamber.

As Senator Grassley explained, "The Democrats seriously regret that they abolished the filibuster, as I warned them they would. ... But they can't expect to use the blue slip courtesy in its place. That's not what the blue slip is meant for."

Make no mistake about it-this is a victory for the Constitution and a victory for filling vacancies on the federal courts with qualified judges who will respect the plain wording of the Constitution.

It is also a significant move toward the expedited confirmation of qualified judges. We will continue to call on the U.S. Senate to aggressively fulfill its duty to promptly and thoroughly consider the nominees it receives from the president. (Breaking Christian News) Read more.

Muslim Pirates Capture Pilgrim Ship - Islam & Constitution Compared
Five years later, in 1625, the Pilgrims filled two ships with dried fish and beaver skins and sent them back to England to trade for much needed supplies.

... But even there she was unhapply taken by a Turkish man-of-war and carried off to Saller (Morocco), where the captain and crew were made slaves . . .

Thus all their hopes were dashed and the joyful news they meant to carry home was turned to heavy tidings . . .

Alexis de Tocqueville wrote in Democracy in America, 1840, Vol. II, Book 1,
Chapter V:

"Mohammed brought down from heaven and put into the Koran not religious doctrines only, but political maxims, criminal and civil laws, and scientific theories.

The Gospels, on the other hand, deal only with the general relations between man and God and between man and man. Beyond that, they teach nothing and do not oblige people to believe anything.

That alone, among a thousand reasons, is enough to show that Islam will not be able to hold its power long in an age of enlightenment and democracy, while Christianity is destined to reign in such age, as in all others."

President Barack Obama stated in Cairo, Egypt, June 4, 2009:

"When the first Muslim American (Keith Ellison, D-MN) was recently elected to Congress, he took the oath to defend our Constitution using the . . . holy qur'an."

The question is: "Can one swear to defend a Constitution of "man-made laws" upon a book that claims to be superior "divine laws," and which instructs faithful followers to subversively lie to make it superior?"

Thanksgiving Thoughts

Thanksgiving Thoughts

"Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him and bless His name. For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures to all generations." (Psalm 100:4,5)

When it seems like all is lost it's tough to be thankful, isn't it? Psalm 100 was the very first passage of Scripture I had to memorize from Sunday School as a child. It was a powerful reminder to me. No matter how mad I may get at the world or at circumstances, I ALWAYS know that God is good, He is merciful, and He loves me.

Without Him I would have perished long ago. I have much to be thankful for. A lot of things in my house don't work- the garbage disposal is broken, my floors are in need of new surfaces, my counter top is really ugly, my dog sheds all over the carpet (which can't be shampooed anymore because it's old), my sink runs too slow, our gas fireplance is out and we can't fix it right now, my health is ok considering what other people go through...all these things are there, yet God is still merciful and will always be there for us. He loves me, and frankly those are just things that don't matter.

I have close friends that I dearly love. They remind me that I have people who love me back. I have a cool job that other Christians would run from. I have blessings in a cup that overflows and I am thankful. My family isn't hostile to me, and we all get along great. A small church in Kenya that we support has a school called "St Faye Academy" which is humbling to my heart. A young college student in Afghanistan calls me "Mom" because he has no one else. I am blessed in my life, and thankful.

If you are thankful this week, be sure to tell the Lord. He's waiting to hear from you! Love, Faye

Classic Hymns

COME, YE THANKFUL PEOPLE, COME

"Let us come before Him with thanksgiving, and extol Him with music and song." (Psalm 95:2)

Lyrics
Come, ye thankful people, come, raise the song of harvest home;
All is safely gathered in, ere the winter storms begin.
God our Maker doth provide for our wants to be supplied;
Come to God's own temple, come, raise the song of harvest home.

All the world is God's own field, fruit unto His praise to yield;
Wheat and tares together sown unto joy or sorrow grown.
First the blade and then the ear, then the full corn shall appear;
Lord of harvest, grant that we wholesome grain and pure may be.

For the Lord our God shall come, and shall take His harvest home;
From His field shall in that day all offenses purge away,
Giving angels charge at last in the fire the tares to cast;
But the fruitful ears to store in His garner evermore.

Even so, Lord, quickly come, bring Thy final harvest home;
Gather Thou Thy people in, free from sorrow, free from sin,
There, forever purified, in Thy garner to abide;
Come, with all Thine angels come, raise the glorious harvest home.

Signs and Wonders

Part One: Solar Wind Sparks Auroras

A fast-moving stream of solar wind is blowing around Earth today, and this is sparking bright auroras around the Arctic Circle. Alex Conu sends this picture from the Lofoten Islands of Norway: [Go here to view this!]

This happened last night above Ã…gvatnet, a lake next to the small but famous village of Ã… in Lofoten," says Conu. "The sky went crazy!"

This stream of solar wind is flowing from a relatively narrow hole in the sun's atmosphere. Earth will probably be inside it for no more than 36 to 48 hours. Arctic sky watchers should be alert for more auroras tonight, Nov. 21-22, as our planet makes a quick trip through the gaseous material. (Space Weather.com) Read more.

Part Two: Plague of Hail Hits Mediterranean City in Turkey Amidst Violent Thunderstorm

"So Moshe held out his rod toward the sky, and Hashem sent thunder and hail, and fire streamed down to the ground, as Hashem rained down hail upon the land of Egypt." (Exodus 9:23)

On Sunday, a seaside resort in Turkey got a taste of the seventh Biblical plague when golfball-sized hailstones buried the city of Mersin in over three feet of ice. What began as a run-of-the-mill storm turned into a Biblically-inspired scenario as violent thunder preceded a deluge of ice, just as it did in Egypt.

Though the hail itself was not necessarily miraculous, it was certainly out of the ordinary for the Mediterranean city which normally experiences balmy temperatures that rarely go below freezing, even in the winter.

Streets were blocked and car windshields shattered as balls of ice incongruously piled up at the base of palm trees that lined the sandy shore.

The Israel Bible gives a poignant explanation of why the seventh plague, a combination of fire and ice, is appropriate for the turbulent times we live in.

"The hail contains both fire and ice, yet the fire does not melt the ice and the water of the ice does not extinguish the fire. They are able to exist in harmony for the purpose of fulfilling God's will. Similarly, the medieval commentator Rashi comments (Gen. 1:8) that the Hebrew word for heaven, 'shamayim,' comes from the Hebrew words 'aish' (fire) and 'mayim' (water), as the two came together in harmony to make up the heavens. This serves as a powerful lesson of peace and is referenced in the daily Jewish prayer service. The following supplication appears multiple times in the liturgy: 'He Who makes peace in His heights (between fire and water), may He make peace, upon us and upon all Israel.'" A Big Win for Grandfather Banned from Reading Bible on Public Sidewalk

[CBN News] The attorneys of a Tennessee grandfather, who say a city law that bans their client from reading the Bible on a public sidewalk without a permit violates his constitutional rights, have received a response from the city of Sweetwater.

"Thank you for your email/letters to the City of Sweetwater, its mayor, recorder and attorney regarding Paul Johnson's exercise of his first amendment right to freely express his religious beliefs on public ways in Sweetwater, Tennessee," wrote City Attorney John Cleveland, Sr., in a letter dated last Friday.

"You may accept this letter as your requested written assurance that the City of Sweetwater, Tennessee, will allow Mr. Johnson to peacefully share his religious beliefs in Sweetwater without requiring him to apply for or obtain any permit pursuant to Ordinance 16-110 of the Municipal Code of the City of Sweetwater, Tennessee," he continued.

First Liberty and the Center for Religious Expression represent Johnson and had sent a letter last week, requesting that the city stop using the ordinance.

The letter ended with a demand that Sweetwater provide "written assurance," allowing Johnson "to peacefully share his religious beliefs at future events without imposing the unconstitutional permit requirement for 'demonstrations' on him." (Breaking Christian News) Go here.

About CHPP

About Capitol Hill Prayer Partners

Our Mission Statement

Capitol Hill Prayer Partners (CHPP) is a ministry which is positioned on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., helping members of the Body of Christ to "pray for those in authority over us" in our federal government. Our primary purpose is to offer intercession on site for the members of Congress and their staffs each day that the Senate and the House of Representatives are in session; and our chief prayer focus is that "God's will be done in earth, as it is in heaven." [Matthew 6:10].

Because Jesus Christ has shed His blood for all, we, too, pray for ALL, in a nonpartisan manner. Also, because the scriptures indicate that "the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" (James 4:17), we are confident that fervent prayer, offered in the halls of the highest chambers of government in our land, can avail much for America. Capitol Hill Prayer Partners welcomes those who feel called to join us, engaging in this strategic work of intercession for our nation: "For there is no power but of God; the powers that be are ordained of God." [Romans 13:1]
Friends may participate by receiving our daily prayer alerts. You may contact us at chpp1994@gmail.com for more information. CHPP is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt ministry. Thank you and God bless you!
