"O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever."(Psalm 107:1)

Focus on Israel

1. A first! Israel Co-Sponsors Saudi Anti-Syria Motion at the UN - United with Israel

In an unprecedented move, Israel on Tuesday co-sponsored a draft resolution against Syria that was submitted by Saudi Arabia at the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC).

The resolution, which was also backed by the US, France and Germany, passed with an overwhelming majority of 108 countries voting in favor, 17 voting against and 58 abstaining.

Although Israel has previously supported resolutions submitted by Saudi Arabia at the UN, it has never signed on as a co-sponsor.

2. Liberman urges Arab nations to make peace with Israel and confront Iran - Times of Israel

Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman on Saturday urged moderate Arab nations to make peace with Israel in order to better confront the threat posed by Iran. "After Daesh, Iran," Liberman tweeted on Saturday, referring to the Islamic State by its Arabic name. "[Late Egyptian President] Anwar Sadat was a brave leader, who went against the stream and paved the way for other Arab leaders to recognize the importance of strategic ties with Israel."

3. New Israel Fund grantee: 'BDS will help me end the occupation' - Israel National News

Excerpts from an article yesterday on NRG on Dr. Ruchama Marton, the acting President of Physicians for Human Rights reveals the type of radical left organizations supported by the New Israel Fund. While Physicians for Human Rights claims to work towards "a more fair and inclusive society in which the right to health is applied equally for all," this telling interview provides the reality that the organization stands with Israel's enemies.

According to NGO Monitor, The New Israel Fund (NIF) gave $1,470,400 to Physicians for Human Rights since 2008.

As the article quotes this organization's head as saying: "I view BDS as a movement that will help me end the occupation"

The radical left, she said, must "launch a "revolt" against the Israeli government by joining the BDS movement, participating in boycotts of public figures and institutions and causing the Jewish state to "to end the occupation, the apartheid and the privileged regime."

4. Netanyahu reacts to Trump's rumored peace plan including Palestinian state- World Israel News

Israel's attitude towards any peace plan will be determined according to its security and national interests, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated, while adding that "these were made clear to our American friends."

Speaking at the beginning of the weekly Cabinet meeting on Sunday, Netanyahu related to news reports over the weekend that the Trump administration was at its final stages of drafting a peace agreement between Israel and the Palestinians. Israel's Channel 2 had reported that Trump's peace plan includes the establishment of a Palestinian state.

5. President Rivlin Rejects Hebron Shooter Azaria's Appeal - Jerusalem Post

President Reuven Rivlin on Sunday rejected "Hebron Shooter" Elor Azaria's request to commute his 14-month jail sentence for manslaughter.

The decision put Rivlin standing with the legal community, but up against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and much of the political class who had called for a pardon.

Azaria entered jail on August 9, after being convicted of manslaughter for shooting Palestinian attacker Abdel Fatah al-Sharif on March 24, 2016.

6. INSIGHT FOR INTERCESSORS - November 16, 2017

There is only one main focus for prayer that the Lord wants me to present today. That focus is the great shaking that is coming; particularly the Middle East war involving Israel. Everyday that war grows closer, regardless of what is reported as progress being made in a Syria settlement, in the Israel/Palestinian peace, etc. For whatever reason, the Lord us to begin to pray into that war now. But before I outline some direction for intercession, I want to share with you, what the Lord spoke into my spirit last evening as I was seeking His heart. I share it with you for your prayer and discernment, as well as for you to test with scripture. Never take a word of rhema, or prophesy, from anyone, without testing it before the Lord, to receive His confirmation regarding its accuracy. I believe that there are far too many false, or wrongly interpreted "words from the Lord", floating around (and being embraced as truth) in the believing community, because most "words" are not being tested. There must be accountability and a passion for accuracy as the priority, rather than the common attitude of so many; suggesting that it's perfectly OK to "miss it" sometimes. The Lord deserves much better from us. (Read more here.)

Note: an EXCELLENT guide to prayer for Israel NOW!

Prime Minister tells Cabinet Israel's attitude towards a peace plan "will be determined according to security and national interests of the State of Israel, and these were made clear to our American friends." (Read more)

The Daily Brief

1. A Tax Bill Tanks Giving - FRC

Before the House and Senate flew home for Thanksgiving, they got plenty of practice carving up something else: the U.S. tax code. As usual, Speaker Paul Ryan's (R-Wisc.) chamber got the jump on their Senate neighbors by passing a basket of major tax cuts -- and challenged Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) to follow suit.

By a vote of 227-205, Republicans tried to give Americans something else to be grateful for next week: fuller wallets and freer speech. The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (which included everything from a rollback of the Johnson Amendment to a boost in the child tax credit) survived, despite the unanimous opposition from Democrats and more than a dozen Republican "nays."

As far as Speaker Ryan is concerned, reaching any level of consensus is worth celebrating. "Getting 227 members to agree on something as complicated as the tax code is extraordinary," he said. President Trump, who's been as anxious as the rest of the party for a legislative win, cheered the lower chamber for taking "a big step toward fulfilling our promise to deliver historic TAX CUTs for the American people by the end of the year!" (Read more)

- Father, we thank You that the Tax Cuts and Jobs act did pass the House of Representatives by a huge margin, and we pray the final reconciliation with the Senate will bring relief to American families and businesses. We pray for Your blessing on this process.

- People cry out under a load of oppression; they plead for relief from the arm of the powerful. (Job 35:9)

2. Republican Party tax reform plan: Senate Finance approves tax bill - Business Insider

The Senate Finance Committee moved the massive GOP tax plan forward another step Thursday by reporting the Republican bill to the full chamber. The bill, named the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, moved forward on a 14-12 vote on party lines.

The bill will next move to the Senate floor, most likely the week after the Thanksgiving recess, to be considered by the full body.

Reporting the bill out concludes a four-day markup for the Finance Committee that was at times contentious. Democrats accused Republicans of favoring the rich and corporations, while Republicans argued they were focused on helping the middle class. (Read more)

- Father, we pray the House and Senate will quickly come into unity over the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, sending a final bill to President Trump before the end of the year.

- Do not hold against us the sins of past generations; may your mercy come quickly to meet us, for we are in desperate need. (Psalm 79:8)

3. Roy Moore's Wife Makes Statement to America, Addresses Future Of Campaign - Western School of Journalism

Despite calls from Senate Majority Leader Leader Mitch McConnell and other Republicans for Alabama U.S. Senate candidate Roy Moore to drop out of the race, Moore's wife Kayla pledged Friday that her husband "will not step down."

"Even after all the attacks against me, against my family, against the foundation and now against my husband, he will not step down. He will not stop fighting for the people of Alabama. In his words, and I quote, 'I will not stop until they lay me in that box in the ground,'" Moore said at a "Women for Roy Moore" rally from the capitol steps in Montgomery, Alabama.

The candidate's spouse singled out The Washington Post as a primary source of those attacks, saying the paper has "staked out" Etowah County, their place of residence. (Read more)

> > > See also: President Trump Says Alabama Voters Should Decide Roy Moore's Fate - Breaking Christian News (Go here)

- Father, we thank You that You give Your people strength to stand when all else is against them. Thank You for the Moores' stand against accusations from newspapers and establishment elites who have an agenda that is based on who fits their agenda and not what the American people want. Lord, we ask you to rise up strongly against the enemy who would accuse a man in one group of doing a certain thing and not a man in the other group of doing the same thing.

- "Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day He visits us."
(1 Peter 2:12)

4. [Re: Senator Franken] D.C. Rocked - Gary Bauer

Shocking allegations against Senator Al Franken (D-MN) rocked Washington, D.C., yesterday. Leeann Tweeden, a news anchor for KABC in Los Angeles, came forward with accusations that Sen. Franken sexually assaulted her during a 2006 USO tour. A second woman, Melanie Morgan, leveled other disturbing charges against Franken yesterday. Franken is now under heavy fire. Senate leaders Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and Chuck Schumer (D-NY) have called for an Ethics Committee investigation.

There are also calls for Franken's resignation, such as this one:

"This revelation is a test of the Democratic Party's consistency, honesty, and decency. If Democrats wish to preserve whatever moral standing they have today, they must exhort Franken to leave the Senate, with no hesitation or reservations."

That biting indictment did not come from the Republican National Committee, but from the left-wing news site Slate. Top Minnesota officials, including State Auditor Rebecca Otto, are also demanding Franken's resignation. Even Franken's friends in Hollywood are turning on him. (Read more)

- Jesus, if Senator Franken is guilty of the accusations, let him be brought to justice. Let truth prevail in this case. Thank You Lord.

- "Yet you say the way of the Lord is not fair. O, house of Israel, I will judge every one of you according to his own ways" (Ezekiel 33:20)

5. Report: Senate Seeks Kushner Data on Russian Request for Trump Meeting - Newsmax

The Senate Judiciary Committee is demanding more information from White House senior adviser Jared Kushner about a May 2016 request from a Russian national to meet with then-candidate Donald Trump, CBS News reported Friday.

The committee Thursday sought more information from Kushner, who is Trump's son-in-law, about a "Russian backdoor overture and dinner invite," according to "a source familiar with the document."

The "dinner invite" referenced an email that sought a meeting between Trump and Alexander Torshin, reportedly an appointed deputy governor of the Bank of Russia, and a woman purporting to be his assistant, Maria Butina.

The source told CBS that both claimed in the query that they belonged to an all-Russian organization called "The Right to Bear Arms." (Read more)

- Lord, the Senate is seeking data on Mr. Kushner regarding Russia. If Mr. Kushner has been untruthful let it come to light. Let these matters be settled. Let all those involved be just and true. May these matters be settled and never to be heard again.

- "Only fear the Lord and serve Him in truth with all your heart; for consider what great things He has done for you." (1 Samuel 12:24)

6. Major First Amendment Update: Supreme Court Agrees to Hear Pro-Life Free Speech Case - ACLJ.org

Today, the U.S. Supreme Court took a critical first step in protecting the First Amendment right of pro-life pregnancy care centers to speak to their clients free from government coercion. The Court has granted a petition for a writ of certiorari regarding the constitutionality of California's Reproductive FACT Act, a law mandating that pregnancy care centers speak a government-crafted, pro-abortion message to their clients even if speaking that message violates their moral and religious beliefs. . . After the district court and Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals preliminarily upheld the law, we filed a certiorari petition with the Supreme Court asking it to intervene and to protect the free speech rights of our clients.

Today, the Court granted the certiorari petition in the companion case of NIFLA v. Becerra. That case, like our own, argues that the California law violates the First Amendment as unlawful coercion of private speech. We are thrilled and thankful that the Court has agreed to intervene in this matter. The outcome of this case will determine our case pending at the Supreme Court.

The First Amendment not only prohibits the government from telling people what they cannot say, it prohibits the government from telling people what they must say. Based on that principle of law, the Supreme Court has upheld the right of a New Hampshire citizen to black out the state's motto ("Live Free or Die") on his car's license plate. It has upheld the right of students and teachers not to recite the Pledge of Allegiance if doing so would violate their conscience. It has struck down a state law requiring newspapers to print a reply critical of a paper's editorials.

. . . We will be filing an amicus brief with the Supreme Court in this case arguing what we have been arguing since day one: the Reproductive FACT Act violates the U.S. Constitution and should be struck down. We've been fighting against these pro-abortion laws across the country and winning. Now we have a chance to help defeat them once and for all at the Supreme Court. (Read more)

- Father, the battle for sanctity of life continues. Those making the decisions regarding abortion are not making them on Your laws. Change the minds of those in authority to have Your mind and Your heart for the lives of the unborn children. We pray for the day that there will be no more abortions. We pray all those involved in any way with abortions to repent and find their way to You.

- "Whatever man of the house of Israel who kills an ox or lamb or goat in the camp, or who kills it outside the camp, and does not bring it to the door of the tabernacle of meeting to offer an offering to the Lord before the tabernacle of the Lord, the guilt of bloodshed shall be imputed to that man. He has shed blood; and that man shall be cut off from among his people." (Leviticus 17:3-4)

7. Is Facebook Secretly Listening to Your Conversations? This Video Says Yes - Mediaite

One married couple claims to have conducted an experiment and reached a harrowing conclusion. They say Facebook is listening to our conversations and adjusts their ads accordingly. With phones close, the couple talked incessantly about cat food for an entire day in July. "The cat is almost out of food," they said. "We should buy some cat food."

Here's the thing. They don't have a cat and claim to have never searched the Internet for feline-related content. Two days later, according to the video, Facebook began showing them ads for cat food and similar products. Creepy, yes, but is it true? The couple, obviously, says yes, and many Internet users agree. The video went viral, accruing nearly a million YouTube views and over 99,000 "up votes" on Reddit. (Read more)

- Dear God, we trust that You will gather all the people who are believers in Christ and protect them from the onslaughts of the devil taking over Facebook and making the people vulnerable to the insidious nature of Facebook. May the Blood of Jesus stand between all the people and the destructive nature of the media. In the Name of Jesus we pray.

- "Rob not the poor, because he is poor: neither oppress the afflicted in the gate. For the Lord will plead their cause, and spoil the soul of those that spoiled them." (Proverbs 22:22-23)

8. Trump And Xi Discuss Combating Opioid Epidemic - Daily Caller

President Donald Trump said Thursday that he and Chinese President Xi Jinping agreed to place a "special emphasis" on the drug fentanyl, which China allegedly exports.

"The United States and China also face many challenges within our borders. Every year, drug trafficking destroys millions and millions of lives," Trump said at a press conference with President Xi. "Today, President Xi and I discussed ways we can enhance coordination to better counter the deadly drug trade and to stop the lethal flow of poisonous drugs into our countries and into our communities. A special emphasis will be placed on the new phenomena: fentanyl - destroying lives by the millions. We're going to be focusing on it very strongly, the President and myself."

Fentanyl is an opioid that has caused thousands of overdoses due to its high strength. Trump mentioned combating it last month when he declared the high amount of drug overdoses a National Public Health Emergency.

"The U.S. Postal Service and the Department of Homeland Security are strengthening the inspection of packages coming into our country to hold back the flood of cheap and deadly fentanyl, a synthetic opioid manufactured in China and 50 times stronger than heroin," Trump said. "And in two weeks, I will be in China with President Xi, and I will mention this as a top priority. And he will do something about it." (Read more)

- Father God, through Your power and might, we pray that angels will be dispatched from Your throne room and send to earth and stir up, cancel out, stop, and burn up all the drug trade and the lethal flow of poisonous drugs into our countries and communities. God, block the flow of fentanyl by the power of the Blood of Jesus, and erase its existence from the face of the earth. In the mighty Name of Jesus we pray.

- "Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry." (Colossians 3:5)

9. In Unprecedented Move, Israel Co-Sponsors Saudi UN Resolution Against Syria - Breaking Israel News

In an unprecedented move, Israel on Tuesday co-sponsored a draft resolution against Syria that was submitted by Saudi Arabia at the United Nations Human Rights Council. The resolution, which was also backed by the U.S., France and Germany, passed with an overwhelming majority of 108 countries voting in favor, 17 voting against and 58 abstaining. Although Israel has previously supported resolutions submitted by Saudi Arabia at the U.N., it has never signed on as a co-sponsor.

In a statement delivered prior to the vote, Saudi Arabia's Ambassador to the U.N. Abdallah Al-Mouallimi slammed the "the grave deterioration in the state of human rights in Syria." When the list of the resolution's co-sponsors was read aloud, Syria's U.N. envoy, Bashar al-Jaafari, mockingly congratulated Riyadh for Israel's direct involvement, stating that it served as evidence of a secret Israeli-Saudi alliance.

The Syrian ambassador also accused all of the resolution's co-sponsors of supporting terrorism. "The Assad regime, with full support from Iran, has been slaughtering its people mercilessly and with incomprehensible cruelty for years," Israeli Ambassador to the U.N. Danny Danon responded. "Israel, which for years has been providing humanitarian aid to Syrian civilians hurt by these atrocities, stands together with the international community against this murderous regime."

Israel's co-sponsoring of the Saudi resolution came a week after the Israeli Foreign Ministry reportedly instructed its envoys to launch a global diplomatic campaign against Iran and the Lebanese terror group Hezbollah, and in support of Saudi Arabia and its allies. (Read more)

- Father, we thank You that Israel seems to have found a new ally in its region. We pray for continued cooperation to unfold in the days ahead, as Israel and Saudi Arabia join forces and resources to defeat their common enemy, Iran. Amen.

- "Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord!" (Psalm 150:6)

10. On Washington Mall, Egyptian and Hindu Gods 'Worshipped' in Pagan Fire Festival - Breaking Israel News

A three-day weekend event on the Mall in Washington DC featured a massive seven-headed dragon as an exaggerated symbol of Satan in what one prominent rabbi sees as part of the reappearing battle against paganism, an ancient sin that is creeping back into the world.

The third annual Catharsis on the Mall, titled a Vigil for Healing, was held as a politically motivated incarnation of the desert Burning Man Festival from which it evolved. Catharsis, held from November 10-12, featured an array of art, music, lectures, interactive exhibits, meditation, healing and workshops. But unlike the Burning Man, held in an isolated desert location, the Washington gathering was politically oriented.

"We sought a local experience that integrated the best of our values with the immediate desire for political and cultural change that brings people to DC," the organizers stated on their website.

The event featured a 70-foot long seven headed red metal dragon on wheels. The dragon, named for the ancient Egyptian god Abraxas, was clearly intended to reference Satan as described in the Christian Book of Revelations. The dragon, like many elements of the event, was previously used at Burning Man, a yearly festival held in the Nevada desert that attracts tens of thousands from around the world.

Other pagan elements of the event included a 30-foot tall "non-denominational" wooden temple that was built and then burned to the ground. At the focal point, directly facing the Washington Monument, was a paper-mache sculpture of "Lord Shiva Natarja", a Hindu god described as "the cosmic ecstatic dancer".

Though these could all be regarded as cultural or artistic elements, the religious connotations were intentional. "There's a deeply spiritual side to what we're trying to do," said Adam Eidinger, a local activist and organizer of the Catharsis events. "Having sacred fire on the mall is a very religious thing." (Read more)

- Almighty God, we pray that You will encircle all of Washington DC with the Holy Spirit and cast down every demon that was manifested at this Burning Man Festival. God, this paganism is so evil and so debauched. We cry out for Americans to be delivered of this blinded crazed mentality that would tolerate such heinous worship of these false gods brought here from other nations who are living in darkness. We appropriate the Blood of Jesus that was shed on the Cross when He was crucified and through the power of the resurrected Christ deliver America from all these sins and cleanse our nation to cry out for God's mercy and be healed. In the matchless Name of Jesus we pray and trust.

- "And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were open: and another book was opened, which is the Book of Life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And death and hell were case into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire."
(Revelation 20:12, 14, 15)

Having joy in troubled times

I have been receiving a lot of comments lately from Daily Jot readers. Many have been very encouraging. Others are appalled at the state of affairs in our nation and around the world. Still some are angry and do not want to admit the obvious that is before them.

Sometimes it is a good idea to take a step back, take a deep breath, and look at the world from a different angle. When I started the Daily Jot back in January of 2002, I sensed the Lord wanted a brief testimony of daily events that could equip and encourage people to share the Good News. Most of the Daily Jot readers, especially those who have been reading a while, "get it." But I want to encourage all readers to keep things in perspective.

The Bible is about Jesus Christ and what he did to bring salvation to a fallen world. There are many examples of how we are to live our lives and how we are to treat others. A good friend of mine says "You reap what you sow, more than what you sow, later than you sow." He's got a great point. It really is a law of God. So if you read the Jot and use it to share a Biblical perspective by discussing a current event, then you have planted a seed. Unlike seeds that you plant in a garden, you may never see the growth of that seed, but God's word does not return void. I want to encourage you to share what is in the Daily Jot with others--either verbally, or via email, or any other way that you see fit.

The Daily Jot is NOT intended to bring you distress or sorrow or fear. As Christians, we are often mocked for saying that we are living in the end times. They say that every generation thinks that. But the fact of the matter is that every day brings us closer to the Biblical end times. Certainly, there are many prophetic indicators that tell us we are getting closer and closer to the return of Christ the Messiah. How wonderful is that? We know from scripture that things are going to get worse the closer we get. But we are encouraged in Ephesians 6:13, "Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand."

Part of what the Daily Jot is intended to do is to rally folks to do the right thing. Romans 12:21 says "Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good." Our country long has been a beacon of Christian hope to the rest of the world. I know. I have traveled quite a bit and hear what people say. We have a legal say in how things are done in our country. But because we have diverted our attention away from God and from His precepts of good citizenship, our beacon is dimming. Solomon said in Ecclesiastes 3 that he has seen travail of the labors of men. "I know there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice and to do good in his life. And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labor, it is the gift of God." Don't let these troubled times get you down. Find joy in Christ's labors.

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

Planning for Thanksgiving

Across the United States, Americans are preparing for the holiday of Thanksgiving, except that many do not know exactly why we celebrate this wonderful day, and many others believe it is a day of sorrow. Anything in American culture that would portray people in a reverent and humble position toward God Almighty is subject to criticism and Thanksgiving is not exempt. Every year, the godless seek to chip away at the history of this blessed holiday that reminds us as a nation of our roots in thanking God for His many benefits. For example, in 2007 the Seattle Public School system attacked Thanksgiving by instructing its staff to deconstruct Thanksgiving by using a bitter account by a native American advocacy group.

In a letter to Seattle Public School staff, Caprice D. Hollins, the Director of Equity, Race and Learning Support, along with two representatives of Native American Education, directed the staff to the Oyate Web page entitled "Deconstructing the Myths of the First Thanksgiving." The letter says the website "offers suggestions on ways to be sensitive of diverse experiences and perspectives and still make the holiday meaningful for all students. Here you will discover ways to help you and your students think critically, and find resources where you can learn about Thanksgiving from a Native American perspective. Eleven myths are identified about Thanksgiving, take a look at #11 and begin your own deconstruction."

This 2007 website and it's 11 so-called "myths" hardly documented anything from the true historic account of the Plymouth Plantation, written by Mayflower passenger William Bradford, who is considered the nation's first historian. The myths were a collection of bitter politically correct drivel. Myth number 11 recounted as fact: "For many Indian people, "Thanksgiving" is a time of mourning, of remembering how a gift of generosity was rewarded by theft of land and seed corn, extermination of many from disease and gun, and near total destruction of many more from forced assimilation. As currently celebrated in this country, "Thanksgiving" is a bitter reminder of 500 years of betrayal returned for friendship."

In "Of Plymouth Plantation," Bradford writes of how the Indians stole tools from the settlers and after an English speaking Indian named Samoset came to their camp, they became friends, the tools were returned and "With him, after friendly entertainment and some gifts, they made a peace which has now continued for twenty-four years." The peace agreement set forth how the Pilgrims and the Indians would help and protect each other by living in peace. The bitter politically correct crowd has it wrong. The first Thanksgiving, as it was then and is today, is a 1 Chronicles 16:34 day, "O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good; for his mercy endures for ever." And don't let the lies of deceivers spoil it.

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

Classic Hymns

ALL HAIL THE POWER OF JESUS' NAME

"God exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him the Name that is above every name, that at the Name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." (Philippians 2:9-11)

Lyrics

All hail the power of Jesus' Name! Let angels prostrate fall;
Bring forth the royal diadem, and crown Him Lord of all.
Bring forth the royal diadem, and crown Him Lord of all.

Let highborn seraphs tune the lyre, and as they tune it, fall
Before His face Who tunes their choir, and crown Him Lord of all.
Before His face Who tunes their choir, and crown Him Lord of all.

Crown Him, ye morning stars of light, who fixed this floating ball;
Now hail the strength of Israel's might, and crown Him Lord of all.
Now hail the strength of Israel's might, and crown Him Lord of all.

Crown Him, ye martyrs of your God, who from His altar call;
Extol the Stem of Jesse's Rod, and crown Him Lord of all.
Extol the Stem of Jesse's Rod, and crown Him Lord of all.

Ye seed of Israel's chosen race, ye ransomed from the fall,
Hail Him Who saves you by His grace, and crown Him Lord of all.
Hail Him Who saves you by His grace, and crown Him Lord of all.

Hail Him, ye heirs of David's line, whom David Lord did call,
The God incarnate, Man divine, and crown Him Lord of all,
The God incarnate, Man divine, and crown Him Lord of all.

Sinners, whose love can ne'er forget the wormwood and the gall,
Go spread your trophies at His feet, and crown Him Lord of all.
Go spread your trophies at His feet, and crown Him Lord of all.

Let every tribe and every tongue before Him prostrate fall
And shout in universal song the crownèd Lord of all.
And shout in universal song the crownèd Lord of all.

O that, with yonder sacred throng, we at His feet may fall,
Join in the everlasting song, and crown Him Lord of all,
Join in the everlasting song, and crown Him Lord of all!

About the Hymn:

One of the most dramatic instances of [this hymn's] use was found in the experience of the Rev. E. P. Scott in India. His friends had urged him not to venture near a certain barbarous inland tribe, whom he wished to evangelize. But he went forth with high courage, never wavering in his duty, and trusting in God to protect him. When at last he reached their country among the hills, he came upon a company of these savages. Immediately they surrounded him, pointing their spears at him with threatening scowls. He had nothing in his hand but his violin; and so, closing his eyes, he began to play and sing, "All Hail the Power of Jesus' Name." When at last he opened his eyes he expected to be killed instantly. But his life had been spared through the singing of the hymn. Their spears had dropped, and they received him first with curiosity and interest, and then later with eagerness, as he told them the gospel story and won their hearts to the will of Jesus Christ.

8 earthquakes rattled Monterey County this week

GONZALES, Calif. - It started on Monday morning with a 4.7-magnitude earthquake. Its epicenter was between Gonzales and Tres Pinos, and it rocked the Earth hard enough to be felt across the entire Central Coast. Tres Pinos resident Michelle Catlin said, "It rocked my whole house! I'm having a new roof put on and that poor crew couldn't get off the roof fast enough! My animals were freaking out."

Since then, seven more, smaller, earthquakes have rumbled in south Monterey County along the San Andreas Fault. The quake swarm included two aftershocks Monday, two Tuesday quakes with 3.8 and 3.3 magnitudes, and three more trembles Thursday evening with epicenters near Soledad. About CHPP

About Capitol Hill Prayer Partners

Our Mission Statement

Capitol Hill Prayer Partners (CHPP) is a ministry which is positioned on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., helping members of the Body of Christ to "pray for those in authority over us" in our federal government. Our primary purpose is to offer intercession on site for the members of Congress and their staffs each day that the Senate and the House of Representatives are in session; and our chief prayer focus is that "God's will be done in earth, as it is in heaven." [Matthew 6:10].

Because Jesus Christ has shed His blood for all, we, too, pray for ALL, in a nonpartisan manner. Also, because the scriptures indicate that "the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" (James 4:17), we are confident that fervent prayer, offered in the halls of the highest chambers of government in our land, can avail much for America. Capitol Hill Prayer Partners welcomes those who feel called to join us, engaging in this strategic work of intercession for our nation: "For there is no power but of God; the powers that be are ordained of God." [Romans 13:1]
Friends may participate by receiving our daily prayer alerts. You may contact us at chpp1994@gmail.com for more information. CHPP is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt ministry. Thank you and God bless you!
