Spicer: All 100 Senators To Be Briefed On North Korea At White House

All 100 members of the U.S. Senate are scheduled to attend a briefing on the situation in North Korea this week, White House press secretary Sean Spicer confirmed Monday.

"The White House campus will play host to a briefing for all 100 U.S. senators on the subject," Spicer said at the top of his daily briefing, referring to North Korea. The briefers, he said, would be Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, Defense Secretary James Mattis, Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Joseph Dunford.

"This is a Senate briefing convened by the Majority Leader, not a White House briefing. We are just serving as the location," Spicer added.
A spokesperson for Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) did not immediately respond to TPM's request for information on who called for the briefing, and why. Reuters reported earlier Monday that the briefing would take place at 3 p.m. ET Wednesday, and also that congressional aides were working with the White House to schedule a similar briefing for members of the House of Representatives.

And the Washington Post reported, according to an unnamed senior administration official, that the Senate briefing would take place at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building. That is an unusual location for such briefings, which are typically held at secure locations on Capitol Hill.

On Monday, speaking on NBC's "Today," UN Ambassador Nikki Haley said "the United States is not looking for a fight with North Korea," but would not rule out a military response to further North Korean missile or nuclear testing. (Live Wire)

D.C. region to host 'full-scale' counterterrorism drill Wednesday

Emergency personnel across the nation's capital and surrounding area plan to conduct a "full-scale" counterterrorism exercise Wednesday in Maryland, Virginia and D.C.

Police officers, firefighters and other first responders will participate in drills across the region Wednesday meant to prepare for the possibility of a "complex coordinated terror attack," organizers said in a statement.
"The regional exercise will be staged at six sites in the District of Columbia, suburban Maryland and Northern Virginia, and will involve hundreds of police, fire and emergency medical service personnel and volunteer actors," said the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments, a nonprofit association comprised of local governments from throughout greater Washington metropolitan area.
"Law enforcement officials practice and exercise their skills on their own regularly because that's the best way to ensure we are always ready to respond quickly and professionally," said Scott Boggs, managing director of homeland security and public safety at COG. "On April 26, we'll go one step further and stage a very realistic emergency event involving multiple sites and actors posing as the casualties.

A Prayer Strategy for Kim Jong Un

It is clear that Kim Jong Un seems to be "out of control" and is anxious to parade his "strength" across the world's stage by threatening to use nuclear weapons.

Is there any way this man can be stopped???

If we search the Scriptures, we see that there once was another wicked king named Belshazzar, who was threatening Israel and who, too, seemed to be "out of control."

As the Jewish people in that time seemed helpless to defend themselves before that king . . . God stepped in. The Lord God Jehovah, by His very hand, placed the writing on the wall:

MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN

Then Daniel interpreted these words to the king:

"This is the interpretation of each word. MENE: God has numbered your kingdom, and finished it; TEKEL: You have been weighed in the balances, and found wanting; PERES: Your kingdom has been divided, and given to the Medes and Persians."

. . . That very night Belshazzar, king of the Chaldeans, was slain. (Daniel 5:24-28, 30)

Today's Message

In our day, we do not pray that anyone -- no matter how evil or deranged -- be killed.

Let's agree together for the life of Kim Jong Un, that he, too, will see THE WRITING ON THE WALL, repent and live.

Here is a verse of promise:

"In a dream, in a vision of the night, When deep sleep falls upon men, While slumbering on their beds,
Then He opens the ears of men, and seals their instruction.
In order to turn man from his deed, and conceal pride from man,
He keeps back his soul from the Pit, and his life from perishing by the sword." (Job 33:15-19)

- Father God, as Kim Jong Un rests even tonight in his bed, we ask that You invade His heart with Your Glorious love, sending forth a laser beam of TRUTH into his soul! May He come to know the fear of God quickly, repent, and relent from his ravings against the rest of the world. We ask this in Your name, Abba Father God, amen and amen.
