1. Netanyahu offers assurances on Hebron homes, but no authorization - Jerusalem Post
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu offers politicians in his parties assurances on the issue of legalizing two contested Hebron homes, but the Defense Ministry has yet to issue any permits.
"He promised the issue would be dealt with soon," MK Miki Zohar (Likud) said, explaining that the matter had come up at the Likud's weekly faction meeting on Monday.
"We're still waiting for positive answers," he added.

2. Palestinian political analyst incites to kill Palestinian Authority President Abbas - Jerusalem Post
A Palestinian professor and political analyst sparked controversy over the weekend when he argued that Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas should be executed for violating Fatah's constitution.
Speaking on Palestinian TV on Friday, Abdel Sattar Qassem claimed that "Abu Mazen [Abbas] violates the Palestinian Revolutionary Penal Code issued by the PLO in 1979 and the constitution of the Palestinian Authority." According to Qassem, the Palestinian constitution states that the President of the Palestinian Authority is elected for a four-year term, while Abbas has already served 11 years with no elections. In addition, he claimed that the PLO Penal Code states that any PLO member who implements a policy of rapprochement with Israel or assistance to the Israeli occupation is to be executed.

3. 'Israel will never leave Golan Heights, no matter what' - Israel Hayom
Israel will never leave the Golan Heights, no matter what diplomatic settlement is reached in Syria, Foreign Ministry Director General Dore Gold told a gathering in Jerusalem on Sunday of Israeli ambassadors from around the world.
Israel took control of the Golan Heights from Syria during the Six-Day War in 1967 and annexed the area in 1981, a move not recognized internationally.
Regarding the ongoing civil war in Syria, Gold reiterated that Israel has no desire to become involved in the conflict.

4. IDF reopens entrance to Ramallah - Israel National News
The head of the IDF's Central Command, General Roni Numa, has ordered the closure of the northern route into Ramallah and the nearby village of Beit Ur al-Tahta to be lifted.
The decision to seal off the city was announced yesterday (Monday) morning. Throughout the day, only residents were allowed to enter the Palestinian Authority's de facto capital.
This caused serious traffic congestion due to the roadblocks on major roads. Palestinian news agency Maan reported that each taxi entering Ramallah was checked by IDF soldiers for several minutes.
An IDF official explained that the measure was put in place due to security warnings that the IDF received, and in response to the shooting attack at the checkpoint by Beit El on Sunday.

5. 60% of Jordanian students have never heard of 'Al-Aqsa' - Israel National News
A new survey published by the University of Jordan raises a startling statistic which challenges quite a few deeply-rooted fundamental assumptions surrounding the Temple Mount.
The survey, conducted among 6,000 Jordanian students, asked only one question: What is al-Aqsa Mosque? The result: More than 60 percent of the students did not know how to answer.
Following the embarrassing results, the Islamic Council of Jerusalem, which operates in the Muslim University, presented the data as a severe blow and implemented new rules requiring students to pass a course on the "Jordanian Al-Aqsa Mosque."

6. Hamas operatives pose as medical patients to infiltrate Israel - Jerusalem Post
Israel Police and Shin Bet [Israel Security Agency] arrested two Hamas operatives who had entered Israel from Gaza on forged medical documents. The pair were arrested on January 7, however, the information was only cleared for release on Monday.
After entering Israel, Mahmoud Matok, 31, along with his father, 51, escaped from hospital and traveled to Umm al-Fahm in northern Israel, where they were arrested.
Both men hailed from the Jabalya refugee camp located in the northern Gaza Strip.
A source in the Shin Bet said, "This is a serious incident that illustrates the cynical exploitation of Israel's willingness to meet the humanitarian needs of Gaza's residents, which could lead to a tightening of entry regulations, and ultimately harm the residents of the Gaza Strip."

7. 'Journalists orchestrating events to make Israel look bad' - Jerusalem Post
Lawmakers and an IDF representative accused journalists of orchestrating events to make Israel look bad, during a Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee discussion Tuesday of violent incidents between security forces and the press.
"With all the importance of the press in a democratic country," MK Moti Yogev (Bayit Yehudi) began, "we cannot get confused and must always give priority to the IDF's operational freedom of action, because they are acting to save lives."
Yogev accused the press of behaving like an "imbalanced theater."
MK Yisrael Eichler (UTJ) compared the press to a car, saying that in some cases it is helpful and brings progress, and in other cases it can be destructive.

1. Health officials confirm sexually transmitted Zika case in Texas, first in US - Fox News
A person in Texas has become infected with the Zika virus through sex, the first case of the illness being transmitted inside the United States, health officials confirmed Tuesday.
Dallas County health officials said the unidentified patient had sexual contact with an infected individual who had returned from Venezuela and fallen ill with Zika. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued a statement saying lab tests confirmed the non-traveling patient was infected with the virus. (Read more)
- Father God, we are reminded of the countless prayers that were offered, not too long ago, to see the Ebola virus defeated, and now we see Zika. We take the Sword of the Spirit against this invading virus and we command it to shrivel, wither, and die in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ. We lift up the health officials who are now monitoring this disease, and we ask that You grant them Your wisdom to know how to prevent its spread. We pray for pregnant mothers to be protected, too, under Your shed Blood, even as we repent for the millions of unborn lives that have been ended by abortions in our land. Have mercy, O Lord we pray, amen and amen.
- (About the Zika virus) "This far and no further . . ." (Job 38:11)
2. As Feds Plan to Cut Border Monitoring, Texas Officials Ask Why - Texas Tribune
Gov. Greg Abbott and U.S. Rep. Henry Cuellar, a Laredo Democrat, pressed the U.S. Department of Homeland Security on Monday to explain why the agency plans to reduce its aerial surveillance on the Texas-Mexico border. In a letter to DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson, the lawmakers said the cut to a requested 3,850 hours of aerial detection and monitoring in 2016 amounts to 50 percent less coverage than recent years. (Read more)
- We thank You, Lord, for these two members of Congress, who are asking why such a drastic cut in border security is being proposed in our next national budget. We ask that this figure be reconsidered so that our national security on our southern border would not be threatened. We ask this in Your Name, amen.
- "I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it." (John 14:13,14)
3. ON HIGH ALERT: No specific, credible threat to Super Bowl 50, officials say - Fox News
Federal law enforcement officials tell Fox News there is no specific, credible threat to any of the events surrounding this week's Super Bowl between the Carolina Panthers and Denver Broncos, but the U.S. government isn't taking any chances, deploying a wide array of assets to assist state and local authorities in securing the NFL's championship game.
The Department of Homeland Security has designated Super Bowl 50 a Special Event Assessment Rating level 1 - or SEAR 1. DHS rates SEARs 1 through 5, with level 1 indicating the most risk. A DHS rating of SEAR 1 is just below that of a National Special Security Event, which was declared for Pope Francis' U.S. visit last year. Super Bowls are typically given SEAR 1 classification.
According to a separate federal law enforcement official, roughly 30 federal agencies are taking part in the planning and protection surrounding this year's big game, which is being held at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif. on Sunday. Among them are the FBI, Secret Service, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), CBP, TSA, ATF and Coast Guard. (Read more)
- Lord God, we do lift up not only the Super Bowl, itself, but all the many events surrounding it this week in Santa Clara, California. We ask that You would send forth Your angels to help our law enforcement and security personnel identify and "take down" any planned terror attack, from any source. We thank You that, as we ask, we do receive, in Jesus' name, amen and amen.
- "If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer." (Matthew 21:22)
4. Denver Broncos safety sent home from Super Bowl after being questioned in prostitution sting - Fox News
A member of the Denver Broncos practice squad was sent home from the team's preparations for Super Bowl 50 late Tuesday after he was questioned by police in connection with a prostitution sting.
The Santa Clara Sheriff's Office confirmed that Ryan Murphy was briefly detained in connection with the sting at a Motel 6 near the San Jose International Airport. Spokesman Sgt. James Jensen said that Murphy was later released after it was determined that he was not involved.
"We decided it was best for the team if we continued our preparations for Super Bowl 50 without [Murphy]," Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak said in a statement. "Ryan is returning to Denver but his status as a practice squad player has not changed at this time."(Read more)
- Father, we continue to lift up the Anti-Human Trafficking Alert that AGLOW has published, focusing on the Super Bowl. We agree with their intercession that every girl that can be rescued from the maze of trafficking will be rescued, and that their perpetrators be brought to justice. Thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayers, amen and amen.
- "For the Lord watches the righteous, and he pays attention to their prayers."

5. Winter storm triggers travel headaches as it spreads across Midwest -
Fox News
The powerful storm that blanketed Colorado with several inches of snow created a nightmare for travelers including canceled flights and closed-off highways as it spread across the Midwest. ADVERTISEMENT Heavy snow coated western and southwestern Nebraska and western Kansas, forcing road closures and knocking out power to thousands of homes and businesses. Heavy snow was also forecast for South Dakota, Minnesota and Wisconsin and the far northern reaches of Michigan. (Read more)
- Father God, these storms do not seem to be abating, no matter where they are moving across this great nation. We ask for Your hand of protection to rest upon all in the path of this storm, and for Your strength to infuse all who are working to plow the roads and to keep our people safe. Thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayer, amen.
- ". . . he will never leave you nor forsake you." (Deut. 31:6)
6. Pentagon Said to Seek 35% Fund Boost for Islamic State Fight - Bloomberg
The Pentagon will seek a 35 percent increase in funding for the fight against Islamic State in its next budget, bringing the request for U.S. military efforts against the terrorist group to $7.5 billion, according to a defense official.
The $583 billion in defense spending that President Barack Obama will propose for fiscal 2017 also will include $3.4 billion for European-based security initiatives in response to Russian President Vladimir Putin's aggressive moves in Ukraine, up from about $789 million this year, according to the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity before the president sends his budget to Congress on Feb. 9. (Read more)
- Abba Father, We thank You that You are our protector. We thank You for the proposed increase in the defense budget that will increase the readiness and strength of our military. We pray that the Congress and President can work together to accomplish updating our military and navy. Our military and navy need updating. In Jesus Christ Name we pray, Amen.
- And He said to them, "But now, whoever has a money belt is to take it along, likewise also a bag, and whoever has no sword is to sell his coat and buy one. (Luke 22:36)
7. North Korea, Defying Warnings, Prepares to Launch Long-Range Rocket - New York Times
In a new dare to the United States and its allies, North Korea has notified the United Nations agency responsible for navigation safety that it is planning to launch a long-range rocket this month to put a satellite into orbit.
The agency, the International Maritime Organization, said Tuesday that it had received a notification from the North Korean authorities of a multistage rocket launch between the hours of 7 a.m. and noon local time, on an as-yet unspecified day between Feb. 8 and 25. An agency spokeswoman, Natasha Brown, said North Korea's notification described the payload as an Earth observation satellite it called Kwangmyongsong, which translates as Lodestar.
If the launch goes as planned, the notification said, the rocket's first stage will fall in waters off the west coast of South Korea and the second stage in waters east of the Philippines.
The notification followed warnings to North Korea advising against a launch from the United States and allied nations, which consider such a step a cover for developing an intercontinental ballistic missile that can deliver a nuclear bomb. Under a series of United Nations Security Council resolutions, North Korea is barred from developing nuclear weapons or ballistic missile technologies. (Read more)
~Abba Father, we thank You that You are in control of all things. We ask that You would intervene in North Korea's quest for attaining a ballistic missile and defeat its purpose. We ask this in Jesus Christ name, our Lord and Savior, Amen.
-"The Lord shall cause your enemies who rise up against you to be defeated before you; they will come out against you one way and will flee before you seven ways. (Deuteronomy 28:7)
8. Syria conflict: Jordanians 'at boiling point' over refugees - BBC
King Abdullah of Jordan says his country is at "boiling point" because of an influx of hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees.
Ahead of a donor conference on Syria, the king told the BBC that there was enormous pressure on Jordan's social services, infrastructure and economy. "Sooner or later, I think, the dam is going to burst," he warned.
He said the international community would have to offer more help if it wanted Jordan to keep taking refugees. (Read more)
~Abba Father, we thank You for King Abdullah who continues to take in refugees though it is financially depleting his country. Lord, wake up the nations that they will send whatever King Abdullah needs to help the refugees survive. Lord, may other Middle East nations contribute to the welfare of the refugees in Jordan. In Jesus Christ Name we pray, Amen.
-In all their affliction He was afflicted, And the angel of His presence saved them; In His love and in His mercy He redeemed them, And He lifted them and carried them all the days of old. (Isaiah 63:9)
9. Sen. Cotton Introduces Bill to Rescind 'Nonsensical' Directive on Israel/West Bank Product Labelling - CNSNews.com
Accusing the Obama administration of a new "effort to put daylight between the United States and Israel," Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) on Monday introduced legislation aimed at annulling what he called a "nonsensical" directive on labeling goods produced in the territories disputed between Israel and the Palestinians.
"That directive plays right into the hands of those who are driving insidious efforts to boycott Israeli goods," he said in a statement. "There is an effort in some quarters around the globe to delegitimize Israel," Cotton said. "Those behind it know they are too weak politically and too wrong morally to succeed in quick and dramatic fashion. They instead seek to achieve their aims gradually with incremental steps like labeling rules."
The January 23 U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) directive reminds traders that goods produced by Israeli companies located in the West Bank or Gaza Strip may not be labeled "made in Israel." Any that are will be "subject to an enforcement action." The State Department says it is merely a "reissuance" of 20 year-old guidance and does not constitute a change of policy. (Read more)
~Abba Father, we thank You for Senator Cotton's bill That will rescind the administration's nonsensical rule and halt this latest effort to put daylight between the USA and Israel. This is another effort by this administration to boycott Israeli goods made in the West Bank or Gaza Strip. We pray that this bill will find favor in the Senate and pass veto proof. In His Name we pray, Amen.
- Now the Lord said to Abram, "[a]Go forth from your country, And from your relatives and from your father's house,To the land which I will show you; and I will make you a great nation, And I will bless you, and make your name great; And so [b]you shall be a blessing; and I will bless those who bless you, And the one who [c]curses you I will [d]curse. And in you all the families of the earth will be blessed." (Genesis 12:1-3)
10. France considers recognition of a Palestinian state - Fox News
The French foreign minister says France will recognize a Palestinian state if its efforts to revive Israeli-Palestinian peace talks fail.
Minister Laurent Fabius told French diplomats on Friday that France will prepare for an international conference to bring together the two parties and their American, European and Arab partners in order "to make happen a two-state solution." (Read more)
- "And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it." (Zechariah 12:3)
"And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem." (Zechariah 12:9)

CNN reports Soros influence on Clinton
As the Iowa caucus is behind us, there is one thing for sure: Billionaire George Soros is putting his money on the criminal elite candidate, Hillary Clinton. You know the leftist movement is experiencing some jitters when CNN, the darling mouthpiece of leftist media worldwide, is critical of Soros and Clinton. Here is the lead on a February 1 story: "For all the complaints from Democrats about the amount of big money in politics, Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders have raised a staggering amount of cash. Clinton's campaign raised $112 million in 2015, and top Democratic billionaire donor George Soros recently gave $6 million to her super PAC, according to new figures filed with the Federal Election Commission..."
Soros is that untouchable billionaire who has led the worldwide charge for wealth redistribution. He was big in the current "president's" success and he has been a political money player behind the communization of the Democratic Party. He is the puppeteer of these politicians and the fuel in their political engines. He is the example of campaign reform--where Democrats and Republicans alike scream from the mountaintops that no one person should own a candidate; that the average American should not be shut out of politics--in that loopholes are closed for larger ones to be opened. In his 2006 book, The Age of Fallibility, he said "the main obstacle to a stable and just world order is the United States"
Politics is big business for both Republicans and Democrats. It becomes even bigger when favors can be brokered from a huge pot of money. This is what has become of America. Every special interest group has a "right" to your money. There was a time when Democrats accused Republicans of being the party of special interests. It was just projection--where someone accuses another of doing exactly what the accuser is accusing. But today, both parties are special interest driven and the bigger the contributions, the more special the interest. It is the way the system works. There are far too many people asking not what they can do for their country, but what their country can do for them.
Government is not God, but politicians and the so-called "less fortunate" idolize government. People like Soros invest a bit in candidate, and the return is even bigger. With it comes power and more money. This is just one example. Trouble is, when one tries to educate people on this, they dismiss the information as politically-motivated lies. 2 Timothy 3:13 says, "But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived." This is as true today as when it was written. Also true today is the advice given in the next two verses: "But continue thou in the things which you have learned and have been assured of, knowing of whom you have learned them; And that from a child you have known the holy scriptures, which are able to make you wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus."
Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

Christian Prayer Network Leaders Call for 30 Days of Prayer for the Justices of the Supreme Court of the United States as They Prepare to Hear 'The Texas Case' on March 2, 2016
Released today by Allan Parker, The Justice Foundation
SAN ANTONIO, Texas, Feb. 3, 2016 /Christian Newswire/ -- The Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) recently rejected the Arkansas case which banned abortion after 12 weeks and the North Dakota case which banned abortion after six weeks. Both of these states had even offered, by law, to care for until adulthood every unwanted child so that any woman that wanted the liberty to be free of unwanted child care could do so.
These leaders agree with the statement: "We tremble for our country when we remember that God is just and that His justice never sleeps. We fear that the judgment of Almighty God, which is designed to be merciful, and the wrath of God, will come upon the United States of America. God hates the shedding of innocent blood." But there is hope for our nation if Christians will pray! "If I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or if I command the locust to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among My people, and My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land." II Chronicles 7:13-14. We believe that the role of the SCOTUS is to affirm God given rights to every individual throughout ALL stages of LIFE.
We are calling for national prayers of repentance from February 3 to March 4. On January 22, the Jonas storm, which also means Jonah, hit Washington, D.C. That same day the Supreme Court denied North Dakota the right to ban abortion and help women with child care. We urge everyone to pray every day for the Supreme Court and America to repent. From February 3 to March 4, we are urging prayer groups to cooperate in mobilizing the Body of Christ to 24/7 non-stop prayer for the SCOTUS.
On March 2, the Supreme Court will hear the Texas case which calls for ambulatory surgical centers and hospital admitting privileges. We all will have another opportunity to repent for the sin of abortion through this case.

Obama Visits a Mosque
1. Obama visits US mosque, says impression of Muslims distorted - Star Tribune
CATONSVILLE, Md. - President Barack Obama sought Wednesday to correct what he called a "hugely distorted impression" of Muslim-Americans as he made his first visit to a U.S. mosque. He said those who demonize all Muslims for the acts of a few are playing into extremists' hands.
Inserting himself into a debate that has ricocheted in the presidential campaign, Obama told parishioners at a mosque outside Baltimore that he'd heard from young Muslims worried they'll be rounded up and kicked out of the country. He said Muslims, too, are concerned about the threat of terrorism but are too often blamed as a group "for the violent acts of the very few."
"We've seen children bullied, we've seen mosques vandalized," Obama said, warning that such unequal treatment for certain groups in society tears at the nation's fabric. "That's not who we are." "We've seen an alarming willingness on the part of some Republicans to try to marginalize law-abiding, patriotic Muslim Americans," White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest told reporters Tuesday. "It's just offensive to a lot of Americans who recognize that those kinds of cynical political tactics run directly contrary to the values that we hold dear in this country. And I think the President is looking forward to the opportunity to make that point." (Read more here.)
2. Obama at Islamic Society of Baltimore: "Muslim Americans keep us safe" - Jihad Watch
(CNN)Seeking to rebut what he views as perilous election-year bombast about Muslims, President Barack Obama is at a mosque in Baltimore on Wednesday, his first visit to such a site in the United States.
"Muslim Americans keep up [sic] safe," Obama told the audience, crediting the contributions Muslims have made to communities. "They are our police. They are our fire fighters. They're in (the Department of) Homeland Security."
Jihad Watch Commentary: Trump and Carson actually made no attempt to "marginalize law-abiding, patriotic Muslim Americans." They were trying to offer solutions to what the Obama Administration won't even admit is a problem. Carson pointed out, quite correctly, that there are elements of Sharia that contradict Constitutional principles. Trump said there should be a temporary halt to Muslim immigration until we figure out a way to distinguish jihadis from peaceful Muslims. No one who has criticized him for proposing this has offered a plan to do that. (Read more)
3. Obama's Dubious Mosque Choice - IPT News
Barack Obama is scheduled to visit the Islamic Society of Baltimore (ISB) Wednesday, his first visit to a U.S. mosque since becoming president.
ISB leaders have amassed a record of support for radical Islamic causes over the years, including endorsing the Chechen jihad and Palestinian suicide bombings. Its former imam was active in a charity later linked to terror financing including Hamas, the Taliban, and for providing "hundreds of thousands of dollars" to Osama bin Laden.
More recently, a resident scholar described homosexuality as a threat to societal health, in stark contrast to the president's views on the issue. (Read more)
Prayer Request:
Father God, we lift up the President of the United States as he continues to embrace Islam over our Judeo-Christian foundation. We ask You to forgive him, for he knows not what he does. We ask that You take the scales off his eyes, that he might know the Truth, and the Truth would set him free.
Father, in relation to the Prayer Breakfast tomorrow, if there are any hidden agendas in his heart as he attends that event, that are not in Your will, we cast those down by the Blood of the Lamb. We ask that all the thousands who do attend that event be kept safe, under the shelter of Your Wing.
We repent, Lord, for the spirit of mixture and of compromise in the church, and we ask for move of Your Spirit to come forth that would set all of us free to worship You, and You only, in spirit and in truth. We ask this in Your name, amen and amen.
"Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord." (Acts 3:19)

One Year Ago Tomorrow:
The National Prayer Breakfast
As we prepare our hearts for this event tomorrow, let's revisit what happened at the National Prayer Breakfast last year . . . Please find below three articles we ran on the Daily Brief on Friday, February 6, 2015, for your own prayerful consideration. (Links to original sources and prayers are included.)
1. Franklin Graham Responds to Obama's ISIS-Christian Prayer Breakfast Comparison: Jesus Lived for Peace, Mohammed Killed Innocent People - Christian Post
"Today at the National Prayer Breakfast, the President implied that what ISIS is doing is equivalent to what happened over 1000 years ago during the Crusades and the Inquisition," Franklin Graham wrote. "Mr. President - Many people in history have used the name of Jesus Christ to accomplish evil things for their own desires. But Jesus taught peace, love and forgiveness."
Graham further wrote that unlike Jesus, who lived His life without sin, Mohammed took many innocent lives.
"[Jesus] came to give His life for the sins of mankind, not to take life. Mohammad on the contrary was a warrior and killed many innocent people," Graham asserted. "True followers of Christ emulate Christ - true followers of Mohammed emulate Mohammed. (Read more)
- Abba Father God, the writing is now clearly on the wall for all to see: the writing that spells out Obama's Moslem agenda as well as his anti-semitic and anti-Christian positioning. May we all see, know and take heed . . . our days may now be numbered. We ask for Your spirit of grace, boldness and courage so that, whenever we are callenged in days ahead, we may stand for the uncompromised Gospel in the Word of God. We ask this prayer in Jesus' name, Amen.
- "This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come." (2 Timothy 3:1)
2. National Prayer Breakfast: Obama said, "People committed terrible deeds in the name of Christ." - AP
Obama had a more non-denominational message for the audience that also included prominent leaders of non-Christian faiths. The president said that while religion is a source for good around the world, people of all faiths have been willing to "hijack religion for their own murderous ends."
"Unless we get on our high horse and think that this is unique to some other place, remember that during the Crusades and Inquisition, people committed terrible deeds in the name of Christ," Obama said. "In our home country, slavery and Jim Crow all too often was justified in the name of Christ.
"So it is not unique to one group or one religion," Obama said. "There is a tendency in us, a simple tendency that can pervert and distort our faith."
Obama joked that it's a rare event that can bring together the Dalai Lama and NASCAR, after retired driver and commentator Darrell Waltrip gave the keynote address. Waltrip told how he had accepted Jesus Christ as his savoir after a 1993 crash left him wondering what would happen if he died.
"If you've never gotten on your knees and asked him to forgive you of your sins, you're just a pretty good guy or a pretty good gal? You're going to go to hell," Waltrip said. (Link no longer available)
- Lord God, we praise You that the truth was spoken at the breakfast yesterday, and we ask that the light of that word, spoken by Darrell Waltrip, would dispel all other darkness present. May many remember and well reflect on his closing statement, for hell is real . . . and You gave up Your life to pay that ransom for us so that we don't need to spend an eternity separated from You. Thank You, Lord, Your grace IS sufficient, in Jesus' name, amen and amen.
- "For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself as a ransom for all . . ." (I Timothy 2:5,6)
3. Critics pounce after Obama talks Crusades, slavery at prayer breakfast - Washington Post
Some Republicans were outraged. "The president's comments this morning at the prayer breakfast are the most offensive I've ever heard a president make in my lifetime," said former Virginia governor Jim Gilmore (R). "He has offended every believing Christian in the United States. This goes further to the point that Mr. Obama does not believe in America or the values we all share."
Russell Moore, president of the Southern Baptist Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission, called Obama's comments about Christianity "an unfortunate attempt at a wrongheaded moral comparison." What we need more is a "moral framework from the administration and a clear strategy for defeating ISIS," he said, using an acronym for the Islamic State.
"The evil actions that he mentioned were clearly outside the moral parameters of Christianity itself and were met with overwhelming moral opposition from Christians," Moore said. He added that while he understood Obama's attempt to make sure "he is not heard as saying that all Muslims are terrorists, I think most people know that at this point." (Read more)

- Again, Lord, we thank You for voices that spoke and clarified words of truth yesterday in this sea of confusion. We repent that we have looked to man for our answers, and we covenant today to look only to You, Abba Father God, the author and the finisher of our faith, for guidance in the days ahead. Help us, Lord, in these increasingly dark times, to stay on the narrow path with You. We ask this in Jesus' Name, amen and amen.
- "Ye shall have no other gods before Me." (Exodus 20:3)

Trump calls for 'new election' after accusing Cruz of fraud in Iowa
Donald Trump is accusing Republican presidential rival Ted Cruz of committing fraud ahead of Monday night's Iowa caucuses, and calling for a "new election." "Based on the fraud committed by Senator Ted Cruz during the Iowa Caucus, either a new election should take place or Cruz results nullified," Trump tweeted on Wednesday. (The Hill) Read more here.
- Lord God, as we read the details in this article, it does seem that Monday night's final vote on the Republican side may not have been a "true vote," after all. No matter how mistakes were made in the heat of the battle, we do ask for integrity, honesty and truth to prevail, as we continue to bind spirits of chaos, confusion, and deception from any of the presidential campaigns this year.
We also take note that public apologies have been extended, and received, and we ask for better performances by all candidates throughout this coming year. Thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayer, amen and amen.
- Proverbs 2 . . . for wisdom for all, and against evil doings.

Family Research Council Applauds House GOP For Setting New Precedent for Future Defunding of Planned Parenthood
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Tonight, the U.S. House of Representatives attempted to override President Obama's veto of the Restoring Americans' Healthcare Freedom Reconciliation Act, which would have removed, for one year, most funding under several mandatory programs such as Medicaid for abortion entities, including Planned Parenthood. The bill would have also repealed key provisions of Obamacare, which encourages subsidies for abortion coverage and threatens conscience protections. The House did not obtain the required votes of two-thirds of Representatives necessary to override the veto.
Family Research Council President Tony Perkins released the following statement in response:
"The House made a valiant effort to remove government funding from Planned Parenthood and to dismantle Obamacare. I applaud those pro-life House members for valuing human life at its most vulnerable stage. Despite the failed veto override, a critical precedent has now been set for moving a similar measure forward when America finally has a President who understands the value of every person, born and unborn. What has formerly been viewed as impossible has now been made much more possible, and we look forward to the day very soon when a pro-life Congress sends a similar bill to a pro-life President to sign into law.
"Despite this veto, we still have much to celebrate. Never before has Congress been able to send a bill to President Obama's desk ending the forced partnership between taxpayers and Planned Parenthood. We owe a deep debt of gratitude to the many Members of Congress who made the protection of the unborn and their mothers, and the repeal of pro-abortion, punitive mandates within Obamacare such a high priority.
"Planned Parenthood, the largest abortion provider in the country, should not be funded with taxpayer dollars, especially in light of the selling of baby body parts and possible partial birth abortion violations," concluded Perkins.

Songs Our Grandmothers Sang:
UNDER HIS WINGS
"Hide me under the shadow of Thy wings." (Psalm 17:8)
Lyrics
Under His wings I am safely abiding, Though the night deepens and tempests are wild, Still I can trust Him; I know He will keep me, He has redeemed me, and I am His child.
Refrain
Under His wings, under His wings,
Who from His love can sever?
Under His wings my soul shall abide,
Safely abide forever.
Under His wings, oh, what precious enjoyment! There will I hide till life's trials are o'er; Sheltered, protected, no evil can harm me, Resting in Jesus, I'm safe evermore.
Refrain
Under His wings, what a refuge in sorrow! How the heart yearningly turns to His rest! Often when earth has no balm for my healing, There I find comfort, and there I am blessed.
Refrain

Hundreds of thousands rally in Rome against gay 'civil unions'
and adoption as vote nears
February 2, 2016 (LifeSiteNews) - As the Italian Parliament prepares to vote on "civil unions" for homosexuals, a crowd of hundreds of thousands of people rallied in Rome's Circus Maximus and adjacent streets on January 30 to protest in favor of the family and the rights of children.
The gargantuan protest, dubbed "Family Day," was organized by the Committee to Defend Our Children, and aimed to thwart an attempt by the ruling Democratic Party and its allies to grant legal recognition to homosexual unions and to allow homosexuals to adopt their "stepchildren" - that is, the children of their sex partners.
The protestors expressed their concern that such a measure would enable homosexuals to contract with egg donors and surrogates to "synthesize" children who will never know their mothers and who lack any right to a natural family. Read more
