"Oh give us help against the adversary, For deliverance by man is in vain. Through God we will do valiantly, and it is He who shall tread down our adversaries." (Psalm 108:12,13)

> > > Please note in particular our last call to intercession, below (Item #11). Thank you.

Below please find a list of headlines, released over this past weekend, about the horrific attacks by ISIS terrorists that took place in Paris on Friday night. Ask our Lord to direct you as you intercede over each one . . . and please claim Psalm 108:12,13 (above) over all.

1. STRIKING BACK: France launches 'massive' airstrikes against ISIS targets in Syrian stronghold - Fox News

French jets struck the heart of ISIS-controlled territory on Sunday in the first direct retaliation for Friday's deadly terror attacks that killed 129 in Paris.

French fighter jets dropped 20 bombs on a command and control center, jihadi recruitment center, munitions depot and ISIS training camp in the Syrian city of Raqqa, AP and Reuters reported, citing a statement from the French Defense Ministry.

The "massive" raid was launched from the United Arab Emirates and Jordan and was carried out in coordination with U.S. forces. Raqqa is the de facto capital of the Islamic State's "caliphate."(Read more)

4. Three Teams of Coordinated Attackers Carried Out Assault on Paris, Officials Say; Hollande Blames ISIS - New York Times

Three teams of Islamic State attackers acting in unison carried out the terrorist assault in Paris on Friday night, officials said Saturday, including one assailant who may have traveled to Europe on a Syrian passport along with the flow of migrants.

"It is an act of war that was committed by a terrorist army, a jihadist army, Daesh, against France," President François Hollande told the nation from the Élysée Palace, using an Arabic acronym for the Islamic State. "It is an act of war that was prepared, organized and planned from abroad, with complicity from the inside, which the investigation will help establish."

The Paris prosecutor, François Molins, said the attackers were all armed with heavy weaponry and suicide vests. Their assault began at 9:20 p.m. Friday, when one terrorist detonated a suicide bomb outside the gates of the soccer stadium on the northern outskirts of Paris. It ended at 12:20 a.m. Saturday when the authorities stormed a concert hall, the Bataclan. One attacker there was killed; two others detonated suicide vests. Inside the hall, 89 people, who had been listening to a rock band, had been shot to death. (Read more)

7. Good News in the Fight against ISIS: Together with U.S. Airstrikes, Peshmerga Captures Terror Group's Major Supply Road - CBN

Kurdish fighters have captured a strategic road in northern Iraq, cutting off one of the most important supply routes for ISIS.

The Kurdish Regional Security Council says Peshmerga fighters have reached Highway 47, which links the Islamic State's two biggest strongholds: Raqqa in Syria and Mosul in Iraq. The council said they've reached the highway in two different areas.

"[Peshmerga] troops are holding their position, waiting for reinforcements and more airstrikes so they can then move into the center of the town," Maj. General Seme Busal, a commander on one of the front lines, said. "Airstrikes have been very important to the operation getting to the point where it is now." (Read more)

8. Israel Stands "Shoulder to Shoulder" with France - Breaking Israel News

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded strongly to the Islamic State (ISIS) attacks in Paris on Friday night, expressing Israel's solidarity with France in the face of the recent acts of terror.

"Israel is standing shoulder to shoulder with French President Hollande and the French people in our joint war against terror. I have instructed Israel's security and intelligence forces to assist their French counterparts and their counterparts from other European countries in any way possible," Netanyahu said. "I send my condolences in the name of the Israeli people to the families of the killed and wish the wounded a speedy recovery."

"I urge the entire civilized world to unite and defeat the plague of global terror," he added. "Militant Islamic terrorism attacks our society because it wants to destroy our civilization and our values."

The prime minister compared the victims in Paris to the victims in Jerusalem and said they were the "victims of militant Islamic terrorism, not its cause. Terrorism is the deliberate and systematic targeting of civilians, and it can never be justified. Islam wants to destroy our values of Western democracy."

"An attack on any one of us is an attack on all of us, and must be condemned with unwavering determination." (Read more)

9. Bennett: It's either Israel or ISIS in the West Bank - Jerusalem Post

ISIS would move into any area that Israel would vacate in the West Bank, Education Minister Naftali Bennett said on Monday as he warned against the creation of a Palestinian state and attacked Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for his support of such an idea.

"Either you will be here, or ISIS," will be here Bennett said as he spoke to students in Ariel University, which is located in the Samaria region of the West Bank.

He made his statement as the international community continued to reel from the six consecutive ISIS linked terror attacks in Paris on Friday night, in which over 130 people were killed.

"A Palestinian"A Palestinian state will never be established in the heart of the Land of Israel," he added. (Read more)

10. Paris attacks put dagger through heart of liberal Europe - The Telegraph UK

The Paris attacks that killed at least 128 people on Saturday night will put renewed pressure on Europe Schengen agreement and threaten the "very essence" of the European way of life, as far-right parties seek to capitalise on the attacks, analysts have warned.

With Paris now enduring this second major terror bloodbath in under a year, questions are now being asked about how much longer both Europe's open border system and vision of a tolerant, multi-cultural society can survive.

"With Paris in lockdown and France closing its borders, we can see all too clearly that what is at stake here is the very essence of our way of life in Europe," said Davis Lewin, the deputy director of the Henry Jackson Society, a conservative think-tank. (Read more)

The historic cathedral carried out a special tribute to the Paris victims.

A special service and bell ringing at Paris' Notre Dame cathedral on Sunday night honored the memories of the 129 victims killed in Friday's gun and bomb attacks across the city.

Like other landmarks in the French capital, the historic Catholic cathedral has been closed to visitors since the killings, but opened to service attendees mourning the massacre that left another 352 injured, 99 critically, in the worst attacks in Paris since World War II.

The usually bustling city of 2.2 million people has been quiet since French President Francois Hollande declared three days of national mourning and police asked citizens to stay indoors when possible. (Read more)

- Father God, we ask that this move of Your Spirit not be abrogated by the work of the evil one, but that this would "take hold" and move and grow across France and all of the European Continent, brining multitudes of lost souls to You in this time of helplessness and despair.

Lord God, we recall the aftermath of the attacks of 9/11 in our own nation . . . when many flocked to the churches but then drifted away again. Lord God, help us by Your Grace to remember that time, and to cry out to You now, that these souls not be lost, but for Your harvest to come forth in France and in all the nations of Europe. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, amen and amen.

- 'After I turned away [from You], I repented; After I was instructed, I struck my thigh [in remorse]; I was ashamed and even humiliated Because I carried the disgrace of my youth [as a nation].' (Jer. 31:19 AMP)

GOD SENDS A SIGN OF LIFE IN THE SKIES OVER ISRAEL

Amazing. Above Israel, "Chai" shines -- the Hebrew symbol of life!

1. 'Target of Israeli airstrike in Damascus was weapons bound for Hezbollah' - Israel Hayom

Arab media reported Thursday that the objective of an Israeli airstrike near the Damascus airport on Wednesday was to prevent an arms shipment from Iran to Hezbollah.

While Israel has not confirmed having perpetrated the strike, multiple reports in the Arab media suggested that Israeli aircraft targeted weapons depots in Damascus where massive amounts of weapons had been stored, bound for the Shiite Lebanese organization.

A news website affiliated with the Syrian leadership reported Thursday that Syrian army posts were badly damaged in the strike, with some facilities burning entirely to the ground.

2. Abbas refuses to condemn attack near Hevron - Israel National News

Palestinian Authority chairman Mahmoud Abbas refused on Friday evening to condemn the terrorist attack near Otniel, saying only that the Palestinian people "live under difficult conditions" caused by "the Israeli occupation".

The comments came in a news conference Abbas held with the visiting President of Cyprus, Nicos Anastasiades.

Abbas did not specifically refer to the attack, in which terrorists sprayed a car with bullets and killed a man and his son, speaking only of the general situation in the region.

He would only say that the Palestinian people are living under unacceptable difficult conditions "as a result of the continued Israeli occupation and the escalation of settler attacks against Palestinian property and their holy places, which bring them to a state of despair and pressure."

1. ISIS threatens in new video: After Paris, Washington is next - Jerusalem Post

Islamic State warned in a new video on Monday that countries taking part in air strikes against Syria would suffer the same fate as France, and threatened to attack in Washington.

The video, which appeared on a site used by Islamic State to post its messages, begins with news footage of the aftermath of Friday's Paris shootings in which at least 129 people were killed.

The message to countries involved in what it called the "crusader campaign" was delivered by a man dressed in fatigues and a turban, and identified in subtitles as Al Ghareeb the Algerian.

"We say to the states that take part in the crusader campaign that, by God, you will have a day, God willing, like France's and by God, as we struck France in the center of its abode in Paris, then we swear that we will strike America at its center in Washington," the man said. (Read more)

- Lord God, judging by what has happened in France, we now see that "soft targets" may be in the crosshairs of ISIS, rather than governmental centers. Abba God, If their attack here were to follow the pattern in Paris, then ISIS wouldn't go after the government centers during the day like Al Qaeda did on 9/11, but more of the cultural centers at night. We plead Your shed Blood to cover locations like the Verizon Center, the Kennedy Center, and other night life locations in our city, including U Street and Chinatown. We ask for a "double measure" of that covering during the upcoming holiday season, when so many shoppers are in the malls. We ask this in the Name of Jesus Christ, amen and amen.

- "God is to us a God of deliverances; And to God the Lord belong escapes from death. Surely God will shatter the head of His enemies, The hairy crown of him who goes on in his guilty deeds." (Psalm 68:20,21)

2. Chilling Islamic State video warns of more attacks on West - USA Today

A chilling new Islamic State video warns of deadly consequences in the United States or any country that joins the French in their punishing airstrikes against ISIL positions in Syria and Iraq.

'We say to the states that take part in the crusader campaign that, by God, you will have a day God willing, like France's and by God, as we struck France in the center of Paris, we swear we will strike America at its center in Washington," a militant says in the video.

The video was released by "Wilayah Kirkuk," or State of Kirkuk, the Daily Mail reported. Kirkuk is northern Iraqi city that has been the scene of brutal battles. It also warned European nations not to interfere with the ISIL's drive to create a caliphate across a wide swath of Syrian and Iraq.

'I say to the European countries that we are coming, coming with booby traps and explosives, coming with explosive belts and silencers. And you will be unable to stop us because today we are much stronger than we were before,' a militant says on the video. The authenticity of the video could not be immediately confirmed. (Read more)

- Father, we know that you are THE ALMIGHTY GOD, that there is none higher than You in the heavens, and that You are watching over all things. Because we know Your promise to watch over Your children is unfailing, we will not put on the spirit of fear as ISIS would have us do. ISIS has sent a message to America, "So watch, for we are with you, watching."

Lord you are "I AM." You are with us. We praise You because of who You are and we thank You and love You for caring for us. In Your Name, we lock the mouths of these evil ones. May their thoughts be confused and their words be foolish. We ask for your wisdom and guidance to fall fresh on all leaders as they make decisions in all countries. In Thy Holy Name we pray. Amen.

- "The nobles held their peace, and their tongue cleaved to the roof of their mouth." (Job 29:10-11)

3. Manhunt for suspected Paris killer underway as his brother talks - Fox News

As the manhunt unfolded for a suspect in the Paris massacre Monday, his surviving brother said he had no idea where the fugitive was hiding.

Police were seeking the suspected attacker Salah Abdeslam, 26, and any possible associates. Officers set off explosions in Molenbeek, a suburb of Brussels, Belgium, but they say they failed to make any arrests Monday. (Read more)

- Father God, the French authorities may not know where this terrorist is now in hiding, but You know where he is. Lord God, we ask that You reveal his whereabouts to the police, that this man can be captured quickly. We ask, too, for a miracle for the life of Salah Abdeslam, that he find You as his Savior and his Lord. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, amen and amen.

- "For nothing is hidden, except to be revealed; nor has anything been secret, but that it would come to light." (Mark 4:22)

4. Syria refugee crisis: U.S. opens centres to speed vetting - CBC News (Canada)

The Obama administration is moving to increase and accelerate the number of Syrian refugees who might be admitted into the United States by opening new screening outposts in Iraq and Lebanon, administration officials told Reuters on Friday. The move comes after President Barack Obama pledged in September to admit an additional 10,000 Syrian refugees in 2016, torn by four years of civil war and disorder.

The U.S. State Department confirmed the plans to open a refugee settlement processing centre in Erbil, Iraq, before the end of 2015, and to resume refugee processing in Lebanon in early 2016, said spokeswoman Danna Van Brandt. The White House would not say how many additional refugees it may take in beyond the 10,000, but two senior administration officials said they are seeking ways to increase the number. (Read more)

- Lord God, in light of recent events, we ask that, instead, this policy be reversed and that these refugees not be allowed to even enter our nation until fully effective security and screening measures can be set in place. Lord God, please have mercy on our land. We ask this in Your name, amen and amen.

- "For wisdom is protection just as money is protection, But the advantage of knowledge is that wisdom preserves the lives of its possessors." (Eccl.7:12 NASB)

5. Texas warns Obama: No Syrian refugees here! - WND

Gov. Greg Abbott of Texas has become the latest governor to go on the record in no uncertain terms - telling President Obama his state will not accept anymore refugees from Syria in the wake of the Paris terror attacks. The governors of Michigan and Alabama came out with similar statements Sunday. But Texas is a huge domino in the federal governments refugee resettlement system.

Texas was on the receiving end of more foreign refugees than any other state in fiscal 2014, according to government databases. The refugees are hand-selected by the United Nations and vetted by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in cooperation with the FBI, but the FBI has warned it is unable to screen the Syrians for possible connections to terrorist entities. (Read more)

- Father God, we thank You that the State of Texas has "put its foot down" and said a loud "NO" to receiving any more of these "refugees" from Syria. We thank You, too, that the states of Alabama and Michigan have followed suit. We ask that all other 47 states in our nation do this, so that the gates to the mass immigration of "refugees" from Syria be slammed shut. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, amen and amen.

- "'Thus far you shall come, but no farther; And here shall your proud waves stop'" (Job 38:11)

6. ISIS Genocide Victims Do Not Include Christians, the State Department Is Poised to Rule - National Review

A report by a renowned journalist states that Christians are to be excluded from an impending official United States government declaration of ISIS genocide. If true, it would reflect a familiar pattern within the administration of a politically correct bias that views Christians - even non-Western congregations such as those in Iraq and Syria - never as victims but always as Inquisition-style oppressors. (That a State Department genocide designation for ISIS may be imminent was acknowledged last week in congressional testimony, by Ambassador Anne Patterson, the assistant secretary of the State Department's Near East Bureau.) > > > Read more here, and under the Persecution Watch, below.

- Father God in Heaven, we appeal to You in the High Court of Heaven, for mercy. Lord God, there is no excuse for this wicked ruling about to be announced by the State Department, exempting the suffering, slaughtered Christians in the Middle East from the label of those who now endure genocide at the hands of jihadist terrorists.

Have mercy, O Lord, and cause Barack Hussein Obama and his State Department to walk in truth and to rule with compassion for our brothers and sisters who are being targeted in this campaign of genocide. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, amen and amen.

- "The Lord is a God who avenges. O God who avenges, shine forth. Rise up, Judge of the earth; pay back to the proud what they deserve." (Psalm 94:1,2)

7. Obama: Paris terror rampage a 'setback' - Fox News

Three days after teams of Islamic State terrorists brazenly carried out raids across Paris that left 129 people dead, President Obama labeled the slaughter a "setback" in responding to questions about his policies. "There will be setbacks and there will be successes. The terrible events in Paris were obviously a terrible and sickening setback," Obama said Monday.

The president spoke at a contentious and lengthy press conference on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Turkey, as he faces tough criticism from Capitol Hill -- for saying the morning before the attack that ISIS had been "contained" in Iraq and Syria, and for sustaining a military strategy that critics deem insufficient.

But Obama on Monday stuck by the U.S. strategy for fighting the terror group while defending his earlier remarks. (Read more)

- Father God, we weep in repentance for the almost cavalier attitude of this president in response to the executions of 129 French citizens by ISIS jihadists, and more than 352 others who have been wounded. Lord God, we bind the spirit of insanity off of this man, and we ask that You move to forgive him and to show him Your ways. We ask this prayer in the name of Jesus Christ, amen and amen.

- "Truly I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven." (Matthew 18:18)

"But at the end of that [seven year] period, I, Nebuchadnezzar, raised my eyes toward heaven and my reason returned to me, and I blessed the Most High and praised and honored Him who lives forever; For His dominion is an everlasting dominion, And His kingdom endures from generation to generation." (Daniel 4:34)

8. The media turn on Obama for low-key response to the massacre in Paris - Fox News

There is a new and darker mood in the media in the wake of the Paris attacks -- and a far greater willingness to take on President Obama for the lack of progress against the ISIS killers.

If ever a single sentence summed up a media mindset, it was when CNN's Jim Acosta, in language simply not used in White House news conferences, asked Obama today in Turkey: "Why can't we take out these bastards?"

Other journalists joined in the markedly aggressive line of questioning, pressing the president on why he had underestimated the threat from ISIS, why he hasn't taken stronger action, essentially why he has been leading from behind. At one point Obama complained that the questions were getting repetitive -- which simply underscored that his answers were not satisfying the press corps.

The shift in tone is remarkable, both in its impatient focus on terrorism after the coordinated murder of 129 people in France, and in demanding accountability from a president who has often received soft treatment in the past. (Read more)

- Lord God, if this is what it takes to wake up the media to do their job, then we say, Praise the Lord. We ask that these journalists would continue now to "break loose" and to hold the president's feet to the fire regarding the many issues we now face that are placing our nation in danger. Thank You, Lord, in the name of Jesus Christ, amen and amen.

- "And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose." (Romans 8:28)

9. World leaders converge to condemn Paris terror - Times of Israel

World leaders joined a heavily-guarded summit in Turkey on Sunday to forge a united front against jihadist violence after the Paris gun and bomb assaults but facing stark divisions over conflict-riven Syria.

US President Barack Obama, Vladimir Putin of Russia, China's President Xi Jinping and other leaders gathered at the Mediterranean resort of Antalya two days after the Paris attacks claimed by Islamic State jihadists that killed at least 129 people.

The Paris killings darkened the mood of the summit of the Group of 20 top world economies, with security and the Syrian conflict now eclipsing an economic agenda that will also deal with the spreading refugee crisis, climate change and tax avoidance. (Read more)

- Lord God, we pray that You grant Your wisdom to these world leaders to know how to combat and to bring down the forces of ISIS. We ask this in Your name, amen and amen.

- "But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him." (James 1:5)

10. North Korea prepares for possible missile launch - Reuters

North Korea has declared a no-sail zone off its east coast in a sign it could be preparing a missile launch, Yonhap news agency reported on Sunday. The warning covers all movement of ships from Nov. 11 to Dec. 7 for an area off the North's central coast, the agency said, quoting an unnamed government source.

"We are observing closely whether North Korea will launch a Scud missile or a new model of ballistic missile because the area under the warning is quite vast," a government source was quoted as saying by Yonhap.

The Scud is a short-range missile initially developed by the Soviet Union. (Read more)

- Father, we know that Your eyes are on the activities of North Korea and the plans they have for possibly launching these Scud missiles. You created the people of the world and You know all hearts and intentions. We ask that the missiles will be rendered useless and not be launched. We ask for the hearts of the leaders of North Korea . . . that they be turned unto You and find new life in the Blood of the Lamb. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, amen and amen.

- "If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it." (John 14:14)

Reality of Islam comes knocking

As Paris recovers from a horrific terrorist attack, America is being invaded at the behest of an Islamic Marxist "president" who is endangering every citizen with the same policies that led to the terrorist attacks in Paris. History doesn't lie. France has welcomed Islamic immigrants for years and has paid the price often, most notably the latest terror attack. So when do politicians learn? You do not invite asps into your home and expect them to not bite your children. Likewise, Islam spreads violence, death, destruction, slavery, and crime everywhere it goes, yet politicians and many leaders of Christian churches refuse to believe that allah is not YHVH God, and that the "religion of peace" is not a religion, but a political system.

My deepest sorrow and sympathy extends to our brothers and sisters in France. But how long must they see example after example of riots, terrorist attacks, civil unrest, and unlawful acts before they wake up to the reality of Islam? Likewise, how long will it take Americans to understand that bringing Islamic refuges to America by the hundreds of thousands poses incredible national security risks? As an example of this willful ignorance, the US "president" told ABC News' George Stephanopoulis just hours before the Islamic State attack that killed 128 people in Paris, "What is true is that from the start, our goal has been first to contain, and we have contained them."
Then he jets off to a summit in Turkey--the nation that is using the Islamic State as a military proxy against Iran. In June, CNS News reported, "Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the leader of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), issued a rare audio message back on January 21 in which he flatly stated his group's intention to march on Baghdad and move into "direct confrontation" with the United States. "Our last message is to the Americans. Soon we will be in direct confrontation, and the sons of Islam have prepared for such a day...So watch, for we are with you, watching."" All the while, US politicians are allowing thousands of Islamic "refugees" to resettle in America, admittedly with no way to tell which ones are terrorists.
Since the days of Esau and Ishmael, their descendants, now organized as Islam, have been deadly enemies to God and the people of God. They are those mentioned in every end time prophecy as coming against God's people. While, yes, we must evangelize them where possible, but we also must understand the reality of the risk. Islam is comprised of those as in Isaiah 59:7,8, "Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood: their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction are in their paths. The way of peace they know not." Politicians must be made to understand that they put our nation, our lives, and the lives of our children in danger by allowing Islamists to resettle in this country.

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

More Prayers for France

More Prayers for France: from Cindy Jacobs

Shields Up! Calling the Nations to Pray for France

Dear Intercessors,

The world witnessed a horrible situation last night - Paris, France, was attacked in multiple venues by terrorists, who have since been found to be associated with ISIS. Over 120 were killed and at least 180 were seriously wounded. Can you imagine how scary that would be?

I immediately got on Periscope and prayed with many of you that the violence would stop. As I interceded, I noticed that some began to ask for prayers of protection for your nations, as well.

This is an international problem and it is time for the allies of France to unite in prayer for ISIS to be stopped! News reports have said that ISIS claimed the coordinated attack on Paris was in retaliation for France's support of the United States' activities to stop ISIS in Syria.1

France is one of the oldest friends and allies of the United States. Let's link our shields together as allied nations around the world and let each nation pray right now for the safety and the healing of France:

- Ask the Lord to comfort family members and friends who are suffering the loss of a loved one in Paris today. Pray they would reach out to Him and that those who don't know Him would have a revelation of His love for them.

  - Extend a canopy of peace over Paris and ask that all involved in these acts of violence would be quickly exposed and brought to justice. "Say to those with fearful hearts, 'Be strong, and do not fear, for your God is coming to destroy your enemies. He is coming to save you.'" (Isaiah 35:4; NIV)

  - Pray for the healing of the nation of France. (2 Corinthians 1:3-5) Where spiritual walls are down, ask the Lord to raise up those who know how to heal the breaches and restore safety. (2 Chronicles 7:14)

- Continue to pray for those who are caught in the deception of Islamic terrorism that the Lord would supernaturally introduce them to Jesus and save them from destroying themselves and others in terrorist acts.

- Boldly command that ISIS would be stopped in its tracks and that all things it does in darkness will be fully exposed to the Light! (Luke 8:17)

  - Declare that the nations of the earth shall be safe from this advancement of evil if Believers residing in them will humble themselves and pray. Ask the Lord to help them repent of participating in any practice that does not please the Lord or align with His Word. (2 Chronicles 7:14)

It is time for the Church to advance in prayer like never before!
Your prayers are powerful,

ISIS Genocide Victims Do Not Include Christians, the State Department
Is Poised to Rule

A report by a renowned journalist states that Christians are to be excluded from an impending official United States government declaration of ISIS genocide. If true, it would reflect a familiar pattern within the administration of a politically correct bias that views Christians - even non-Western congregations such as those in Iraq and Syria - never as victims but always as Inquisition-style oppressors. (That a State Department genocide designation for ISIS may be imminent was acknowledged last week in congressional testimony, by Ambassador Anne Patterson, the assistant secretary of the State Department's Near East Bureau.)

Yazidis, according to the story by investigative reporter Michael Isikoff, are going to be officially recognized as genocide victims, and rightly so. Yet Christians, who are also among the most vulnerable religious minority groups that have been deliberately and mercilessly targeted for eradication by ISIS, are not. This is not an academic matter. A genocide designation would have significant policy implications for American efforts to restore property and lands taken from the minority groups and for offers of aid, asylum, and other protections to such victims. Worse, it would mean that, under the Genocide Convention, the United States and other governments would not be bound to act to suppress or even prevent the genocide of these Christians.
An unnamed State Department official was quoted by Isikoff as saying that only the attacks on Yazidis have made "the high bar" of the genocide standard and as pointing to the mass killing of 1,000 Yazidi men and the enslavement of thousands of Yazidi women and girls. To propose that Christians have been simply driven off their land but not suffered similar fates is deeply misinformed. In fact, the last Christians to pray in the language spoken by Jesus are also being deliberately targeted for extinction through equally brutal measures. (National Review)

Songs Our Grandmothers Sang:

JESUS KEEP ME NEAR THE CROSS

"The angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb down the middle of the great street of the city." (Revelation 22:1-2)

Lyrics

Jesus, keep me near the cross, There a precious fountain Free to all, a healing stream Flows from Calvary's mountain.

Refrain

In the cross, in the cross,
Be my glory ever;
Till my raptured soul shall find
Rest beyond the river.

Near the cross, a trembling soul, Love and mercy found me; There the bright and morning star Sheds its beams around me.

Refrain

Near the cross! O Lamb of God, Bring its scenes before me; Help me walk from day to day, With its shadows o'er me.

Refrain

Near the cross I'll watch and wait Hoping, trusting ever, Till I reach the golden strand, Just beyond the river.

Refrain

World's 10 most dangerous volcanoes identified

Volcano enthusiasts have enlisted the help of a University of Manchester academic to come up with a list of the top ten most dangerous volcanoes in the world.

And the Japanese island of Iwo Jima, which was invaded by the US army during the Second World War, has been identified in the number one spot.

Published as a series of blogs on the Volcano café website, the list includes volcanoes which have a realistic chance of erupting in the next 100 years and which risk causing the deaths of 1,000,000 people or more. It includes volcanoes from all over the world, including South and Central America, Africa, Asia and Europe.

The point of the list is to try to highlight those volcanoes that are not studied very well, but which could pose a big threat to regional and world stability, should they erupt. (Phys.org) Read more.

The Creative Way This Human Rights Group is Attempting to Repeal Pakistan's Deadly Blasphemy Law

(Pakistan)-Engage, a nonprofit based out of Islamabad, Pakistan, has launched a new campaign seeking to challenge the legality of the country's notorious blasphemy laws, which have caused the deaths and unjust imprisonment of scores of people.

The group, which is made up of religious academics, lawyers, a psychologist and development sector professionals, hopes to raise $2,500 to help "deconstruct religious law through a framework that is not alien to its defendants and open dialogue through channels that have credence within the system."

The campaign was initially launched for a client of Engage, who is facing the death penalty after being charged with blasphemy accusations. While the group is hoping to receive a waiver of the death penalty for their client, they are more specifically fighting a complete narrative of hate and persecution.

"The law . . . holds that anyone convicted of the offense of blasphemy against the prophet Muhammad is to be awarded a fixed death penalty, with no possibility of a pardon or waiver," the CrowdDefend campaign website reads.

The group notes that oftentimes, the laws are used to reinforce the oppression of groups and individuals that are already marginalized-particularly Christians, who make up just 4% of the country's population. (Breaking Christian News) Read more.
