1. Jordan Valley farmers unperturbed by EU labels - Times of Israel

As the European Union adopted guidelines for labeling products from Israeli settlements in the West Bank on Wednesday, farmers in the Jordan Valley region responded with a shrug of their shoulders.

"There will be no impact on the local economies," said David Elchaini, the mayor of the Jordan Valley Regional Council for the past seven years. "We are strong and we have a high-quality product. We'll find another market."

2. Rouhani: Israel is 'illegitimate' - Israel National News

Iran believes that state of Israel is "illegitimate" and believes in a "one-state solution", Iranian President Hassan Rouhani declared Wednesday.

In an interview on France 2 television ahead of his upcoming visit to Paris, Rouhani said that "the current State of Israel is not legitimate. That is why we have no relationship with them because we do not consider the state as legitimate."

"We believe that all who were of Palestinian origin and are wandering abroad must all return to their lands. There needs to be public elections under the supervision of the UN and, whatever the outcome, we will accept it," he added.

4. Defense minister to discuss 'smart' barrier on Gaza border - Israel Hayom

Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon was expected to discuss a plan to build specialized barriers as part of a "smart" fence system to protect Gaza border communities on Thursday. The proposal is set to be presented for National Security Council approval on Monday.

"The full details of the plan have not yet been presented to the National Security Council, only a general outline," said Ya'alon's representative, Shalom Gantzer. "Today we have a complete and reasonable response to the security situation along the Gaza border, and there are those who are trying to create panic about the situation. Some 200 million shekels [$51 million] were invested in creating a fence and warning system after Operation Protective Edge."

Gantzer said the new plan includes hidden components and cutting-edge barriers that cost billions of shekels, for which, he noted, the prime minister has promised to allot funds.

5. MK Begin: There is 'no solution' to the Arab-Israeli conflict - Israel National News

MK Benny Begin (Likud) on Thursday said he did not see any possibility of an agreement with the Palestinians on the horizon.

Speaking at the Haaretz Peace Conference, Begin said the Arab-Israeli conflict has no solution, because neither the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) nor Hamas will accept an agreement that includes recognition of Jewish sovereignty in any part of what they consider to be "Palestine".

"Many of us mistakenly think that if we can give up land, so can the PLO sign off on conceding lang. The Palestinians never waived their right to the land," Begin stressed.

He added that the PLO cannot sign an agreement that includes a waiver of the right of return and acknowledgment of the sovereignty of the Jewish people over the land of Israel.

6. US Jews will abandon Israel over religious exclusion, warns delegation -Times of Israel

"Look, we're paying your bills, I know you hate hearing it, but we're paying your bills!" said American Dov S. Zakheim, chairman of the Jewish Religious Equality Coalition (JREC), at a particularly fraught point during a discussion about Israeli-Diaspora relations at the Jerusalem offices of the American Jewish Committee Thursday.

Zakheim's frustrated statement came at the end of almost two hours of sobering presentations by social activist Israelis and roundtable brainstorming in a "discussion" titled "Legal Dimensions of Religious Pluralism in Israel."

The chaos in Syria and Lebanon seems to grow with every passing day. As Russian and Iranian troops, and Hizbullah terrorists fight against Sunni terrorist and other rebel groups, ISIS upped its game with a massive suicide bombing of a Shi'ite area in Beirut yesterday and the probable blowing up of a Russian plane over the Sinai last week. Also, the IDF now says that Hizbullah in Lebanon has around 150,000 rockets - more than all European nations together! So Israel needs His guidance today.

1. Obama Enlists Former Diplomats Albright, Baker in TPP Push - Bloomberg

On Tuesday, the president penned an op-ed for Bloomberg View arguing the agreement would benefit working-class families by improving wages. On Thursday, he posted a direct letter to sellers on the online auction site eBay Inc. on the benefits of the trade deal for small businesses who wish to sell their products overseas.

Obama is trying to hold together a fragile coalition in favor of the trade deal, which has been attacked by labor unions as bad for American workers and by the pharmaceutical and tobacco industries, which have argued that it doesn't adequately protect their interests. U.S. Trade Representative Michael Froman said on a conference call with reporters on Thursday that the administration is working with Congress to chart out the timing for a vote on TPP.

"The president made clear he'd like to get this done as early as possible next year and we're going to consult with Congress about what the most appropriate time is to bring it forward for a vote," Froman said. (Read more)

- Abba, we ask for Your wisdom be given to all who will vote concerning this Trans Pacific Partnership, and our involvement in it, as a nation. Only You know the true benefits, and/or harm this would cause us as a nation, and so we ask for Your influence here, and for Your will to be done. You are our God, and our Provider, and You do all things well. We confidently trust You to guide us and bring us to a good outcome. We thank You for Your watchful care over us. In Your Name we pray, Amen.

- "Casting the whole of your care [anxieties, worries, concerns] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully. Be well balanced (temperate, sober of mind), be vigilant and cautious at all times; for that enemy of yours, the devil, roams around like a lion roaring seeking someone to seize upon and devour." (I Peter 5:6-8)

2. Obama Looks to Bolster Rebalance on Asia Trip - Voice of America

U.S. President Barack Obama is expected to focus on the Trans-Pacific Partnership during a trip to the Philippines and Malaysia next week, as part of the strategic rebalance toward the Asia-Pacific region.

"The TPP is central to our vision of the region's future and our place in it," said National Security Advisor Susan Rice during a White House briefing on Thursday. "America's interests are integrally linked to the Asia-Pacific region," she said. "This is where our security our security interests meet our economic interests in an undeniable way." (Read more)

- Lord, we are concerned as we see our sovereignty rights as a nation being compromised, and we are being forced into agreements with other nations that might not benefit us as a nation. We pray that You, the God of the nations, would hear our cry and protect us from any foolish or unwise decisions our president might wish to make, and give wisdom to our Congress as they vote concerning such agreements. We ask this in Yeshua's name, Amen.

- "Therefore I will praise You, Lord, among the nations; I will sing the praises of Your Name." (2 Samuel 22:50)

3. Government adds record $339 billion to debt in first day after budget deal - Washington Times

The federal government has piled up debt since the latest budget deal was signed into law, tacking $462 billion onto the national credit card since Nov. 2 as the Treasury Department replenished its funds and began another round of borrowing to take it all the way into 2017.

A staggering $339 billion in total debt was added on just the first day after President Obama signed the budget agreement - the single largest hike in history. (Read more)

- Lord, we repent for the lack of fiscal responsibility demonstrated by our president and this administration, and the blatant disregard of the consequences that will follow. We come against the spirit of greed that pervades this nation. We ask for wisdom, and for Godly leaders, who will humble themselves before You, and allow You to impart common sense to them, so they may rein in these excesses in spending. We ask for courage for those who see the problem, and ask that the good of the nation would mean more to them, than their own political aspirations. In Your Name we pray, Amen.

- "No servant is able to serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will stand by and be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon (riches, or anything in which you trust and on which you rely)." (Luke 16:13)

4. Obama approves of EU labeling of Jewish Products - Israel National News

Obama administration says labeling 'not a boycott' because 'settlements aren't part of Israel,' and adds 'we label too. US President Barack Obama's administration on Thursday voiced its approval of the discriminatory EU decision the day before to label Jewish goods from Judea, Samaria, eastern Jerusalem and the Golan Heights.

The administration said the move is only a "technical guideline," and is not a boycott, reports Associated Press - despite the obvious assumption that consumers would follow the labeling when choosing what products to buy.

US State Department spokesperson Mark Toner said, "we do not believe the labeling the origin of products is equivalent to a boycott. And as you know, we do not consider settlements to be a part of Israel. We do not view labeling the origin of products as being from the settlements as a boycott of Israel." (Read more)

- Father, we ask Your forgiveness for our president, and our nation for 'labeling' any parts of Your Land as being "illegitimate". We are the ones out of order, and we repent, and ask that the revelation of the expanse of Your Land be shown to our administration, and that You would instill the fear of God in them, so like a child touching a hot stove, they would withdraw their hand of interference, we pray. Amen.

- "He allowed no one to oppress them; for their sake He rebuked kings: Do not touch My anointed ones." (I Chronicles 16:21,22)

5. World Leaders Prepare for G20 Summit in Turkey - Voice of America

Leaders of the world's 20 biggest economies (the G20) are to meet in the Turkish resort town of Antalya for two days, starting Sunday, to discuss economic and tax cooperation, the migrant crisis and climate change. The G20, an abbreviation for "The Group of Twenty," is an international forum for the governments and central bank governors of 20 major economies.

The members include 19 individual countries along with the EU. The G20 countries account for 85 percent of the world economy, 75 percent of world trade and two-thirds of the world's population. (Read more)

- Lord of the Universe, and our God, we bring this summit to You, and we ask You to be present, and make Your presence felt and known by all. May there be a pervading clean fear of the Lord, and a sense of responsibility present. We pray for wisdom for these G20 representatives as they discuss the world economy, and yet be mindful of the stances and needs of the individual countries at the same time. May You, be praised, and may Your will be done in these discussions we pray, Amen.

- "Put them in fear, make them realize their frail nature, O Lord, that the nations may know themselves to be but men. Selah!" (Psalm 9:19)

6. Supreme Court takes up major challenge to abortion restrictions - Washington Post

The Supreme Court on Friday decided to hear its first major abortion case in nearly a decade, agreeing to determine how far states may go in regulating the procedure without violating a woman's constitutional rights.

It will be one of the court's most consequential rulings on the morally and politically divisive subject, and it will land just months before Americans choose a new president. The divide over protecting the unborn and safeguarding the right of a woman to choose is among the starkest differences between the Republican and Democratic candidates.

The court agreed to review a sweeping law from Texas. Abortion providers say full implementation of the Texas law would reduce from 42 to 10 the number of clinics in the nation's second-largest state. (Read more)

- Father, we are so grieved that abortion remains legal in our nation. The shedding of innocent blood is an iniquity that causes You to judge a nation. We cry out for the justices that will hear this case at the Supreme Court. Grant them Your wisdom, dear Lord, and cause each one to treasure and to uphold the lives of the unborn in their ruling. We ask this in Your name.

- "I will restore your judges as at the first, And your counselors as at the beginning. Afterward you shall be called the city of righteousness, the faithful city." (Isaiah 1:26)

"I am now taking time off to heal and to rest and to spend much needed time with my kids. I would appreciate for those who care about Saeed and our family to give us time for rest and healing and to respect our privacy," she also said in the statement.

The ACLJ told CBN News it remains committed to seeing Saeed's freedom.

"What we are focused on is this: bringing home an American pastor who has been wrongly imprisoned in Iran because of his faith. We know that Pastor Saeed remains in grave danger in prison where he continues to be beaten and psychologically abused by Iranian guards and remains in need of medical care," the ACLJ said.

"We continue to pray for Naghmeh, Pastor Saeed, and their family. We will continue our work-in this country and abroad-to secure the freedom of this U.S. citizen," the ACLJ statement concluded. (Read more)

The S-400 air-defense system has been deployed at the Latakia airbase on the Syrian coast, according to the British Daily Mail newspaper.

The Russian-developed advanced missile system is an upgrade of the S-300 anti-aircraft system, which according to reports Moscow has recently agreed to sell to Tehran.

Challenging the status quo establishment

Nations are important. Leaders to nations are also important. There are dozens of examples of how the kings of Israel either did right or evil in the sight of the Lord, and the people suffered the consequences. America also has suffered the consequences of bad leadership. It is not only that the leaders we have chosen do not follow the ways of the Lord, but they also have made matters worse by following agendas of political parties and evil influencers. Fast forward to the upcoming elections and Americans face a real quandary--untested candidates and old socialists. Trouble is, the establishment on both sides of the political spectrum would rather elect the status quo political suit.

Case in point is a Washington Post article saying that the Republican establishment is holding its money on the sidelines because it doesn't like either Donald Trump or Ben Carson. The old guard moderates with the money would rather put up Mitt Romney than risk someone they can't control. The Post reports: "The party establishment is paralyzed. Big money is still on the sidelines. No consensus alternative to the outsiders has emerged from the pack of governors and senators running, and there is disagreement about how to prosecute the case against them. Recent focus groups of Trump supporters in Iowa and New Hampshire commissioned by rival campaigns revealed no silver bullet.

The Post concludes that the Republican establishment does not believe Trump or Carson can beat Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders. "In normal times, the way forward would be obvious. The wannabes would launch concerted campaigns, including television attack ads, against the front-runners. But even if the other candidates had a sense of what might work this year, it is unclear whether it would ultimately accrue to their benefit. Trump's counterpunches have been withering, while Carson's appeal to the base is spiritual, not merely political. If someone was able to do significant damage to them, there's no telling to whom their supporters would turn, if anyone."

The "if anyone" is the real problem here. Christians have the ability to determine the US election--either by voting or by sitting on the sidelines. In recent elections our nation has suffered because of Christians not voting. It seems that an ordinary person off the street would do a better job than the current or many of the past presidents. One thing for certain: if we want to continue having the same old socialist esoteric tax and spend policies and a lack of moral direction, vote the way the establishment Democratic or Republican parties want. If not, take a chance for a different direction. Proverbs 29:2 says, "When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked bear rule, the people mourn."

A Scary Time For The GOP

A Scary Time For The GOP

It's Friday the 13th and the GOP is afraid, very afraid. I know because the Washington Post told me so. A front page article this morning says that the party elders are hitting the "panic button" and see "doom" ahead if the leading "outsiders" - Donald Trump or Dr. Ben Carson - get the GOP nomination. Some of the insiders are so afraid that they are reportedly talking once again about drafting Mitt Romney to run again in spite of his repeated statements that he won't do so.

By the way, the Post story adds it isn't just Trump and Carson who upset the inside the Beltway crowd - they are also very worried about "Senator Ted Cruz of Texas who is gaining steam and is loathed by party elites." So, the bottom line is that the party elders are mortified and loathe Trump, Carson, and Cruz, who together are currently supported by around 65% of Republicans and Republican leaning independents. Instead of loathing these candidates it might be more productive for the insiders to ask themselves why so much of the GOP base is in revolt.
One Republican who does seem to "get it" is Governor Nikki Haley. Trying to explain the disconnect she said:

"You have a lot of people who were told that if we got a majority in the House and a majority in the Senate, then life was gonna be great . . . What you're seeing is that people are angry. Where's the change? Why aren't there bills on the president's desk every day for him to veto? They're saying, 'Look, what you said would happen didn't happen. . . '"

Congressional Prayer Caucus Foundation hosts a nationwide teleconference call . . . see below!
The CPCF hosted a phenomenal Congressional TeleBriefing conference call with co-chairs of the Congressional Prayer Caucus, Congressman J. Randy Forbes and Senator James Lankford, as well as Congressmen John Fleming and Congressman Rob Wittman.

We were joined by hundreds of legislators, pastors, ministry leaders and like-minded citizens to discuss the concerted effort to silence prayer, and push people of faith to the fringes of society.

These leaders are not just giving lip service, they are genuinely concerned; and they are doing something about it. Listen for yourself. They're remarks were sincere, and their strategy clear, as they called for urgent action against the well-funded and organized anti-faith movement.

Whether you are new to this effort, forging ahead with great passion, or weary from the fight, this call is worth your time.

Thank you to the Congressmen for taking their time to brief us on the strategies for standing strong together, and for every person who made time for this important call. The positive response has been overwhelming. We are planning for the next TeleBriefing after the first of the year.

Congressman Forbes closed with an inspiring story about the USS Yorktown. The point being that if we keep our faith strong and make every effort to work together, even against great odds we can see this nation be a "City on a Hill" once again.

Pastors in India beaten and jailed simply for praying in their own homes

Evangelicals in India are calling on Christian leaders in the UK to pressure the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit this week to intervene to help persecuted Christians in India.

Christians are being beaten and killed in India and the influence of hardline Hindus has increased since Modi's government was elected in summer last year, according to the charity Open Doors.

Vijesh Lall, secretary of the Freedom and Development Commission of the Evangelical Fellowship of India, told Christian Today: "The situation has deteriorated in the north. It is not just Christians. It is other minorities and civil society being affected as well."

He described one incident where Christian pastors were beaten and jailed simply for praying together in a private house.

"The Christians on the ground are fearful and have been for quite some time. People used to attack Christians if they evangelised on the street. Now Christians are not even safe if they are praying in their own homes." (Christian Today) Read more.

Songs Our Grandmothers Sang:

THERE IS A BALM IN GILEAD

- "Go up to Gilead and take balm." (Jeremiah 46:11)

Lyrics

Refrain

There is a balm in Gilead
To make the wounded whole;
There is a balm in Gilead
To heal the sin sick soul.

Some times I feel discouraged,
And think my work's in vain,
But then the Holy Spirit
Revives my soul again.

Refrain

There is a balm in Gilead
To make the wounded whole;
There is a balm in Gilead
To heal the sin sick soul.

If you can't preach like Peter, If you can't pray like Paul, Just tell the love of Jesus, And say He died for all.

Refrain

There is a balm in Gilead
To make the wounded whole;
There is a balm in Gilead
To heal the sin sick soul.

MYSTERY OBJECT TO HIT EARTH ON FRIDAY THE 13TH

A piece of space junk named "WT1190F" is going to hit Earth on Nov. 13th (0620UT). It will burn up in the atmosphere off the coast of Sri Lanka, with some debris possibly reaching the water's surface. According to the European Space Agency, "its mass is not sufficient to cause any threat to the area, but the show will still be spectacular, since for a few seconds the object will become quite bright in the noon sky."

. . . Update: MYSTERY OBJECT HITS

A research aircraft organized by the UAE Space Agency and the International Astronomy Center is reporting the first images of WT1190F disintegrating off the coast of Sri Lanka on Friday the 13th. Click to view a movie of the fireball:

As predicted by the European Space Agency, the fireball was easy to see in the blue noon sky over the Indian Ocean--but only at aviation altitudes. Many observers on the ground could not see the fireball through widespread cloud cover. It was actually raining in Sri Lanka when the re-entry occured.
WT1190F is a piece of space junk discovered by the Catalina Sky Survey on Oct. 3rd. Before the impact, astrophysicist Jonathan McDowell told Nature that "the object is only 1 to 2 metres in size, and its trajectory shows that it has a low density, and is perhaps hollow. That suggests an artificial object, 'a lost piece of space history that's come back to haunt us." The translunar orbit of WT1190F is a clue to its origin: probably an old Moon mission. It could be a spent rocket stage or lunar module from the Apollo program.
The research aircraft was staffed, in part, by a group of experienced observers from NASA and the Seti Institute who have recorded many previous re-entries. According to their web site, "we have incredible imaging data and also succeeded in doing quality spectroscopy at blue and red wavelengths, which is a first for us in daytime conditions." Perhaps these data will provide clues to the origin of WT1190F. Stay tuned. (SpaceWeather.com) Read more here.

Family Prayer Inspires Strangers' Shocking Kindness

A family was going about their morning at a local breakfast restaurant in Oklahoma, bowing their heads to thank God for their sausages, eggs and pancakes.

After their meal, they expected their bill when their waiter handed them a note instead: "Because you prayed, we paid. Continue to raise your sons in Christ. God Bless."

The gesture about had the mother in tears, KFOR reports.

"We see a lot of people paying it forward, buying for other people. Especially coming holiday time, we see a lot of that, we do. Because we have really good customers," the restaurant's assistant manager tells the news site. (Charisma News) Read more here.
