The Daily Brief

1. Majority of Israelis believe solo strike on Iran can succeed - Israel Hayom

Israel Hayom-New Wave Research poll finds 52.4% of the Israeli Jewish public is in favor of an independent strike on Iran's nuclear facilities. Some 52.5% support Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's position regarding tensions with the U.S. over Iran.

Read more:

- Heavenly Father, You know all that is hidden and all that is evident concerning Iran's nuclear program and its impact on other nations, especially Your chosen land and people Israel. We ask You, Abba, to increase the awareness among the Israelis that they will not be alone in a time of war, as You will be on their side! Fill Prime Minister Netanyahu's mind fully with Your timing and strategies, so that a possible strike against Iran is only done when and how You direct. We pray in Jesus' Name, Amen and Amen.

- "Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me; You will stretch out Your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and Your right hand will save me." (Psalm 138: 7)

2. Congressman Warns Obama About The Genesis 12 Curse For Those Who Come Against Israel - Sunlight Foundation

A tea party lawmaker cited the Bible during a speech Wednesday on the House floor criticizing the Obama administration for its treatment of Israel. "And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed." (Genesis 12:3)

"There are many who have been aware of Scripture, and it has often been a guide in our relations with Israel," said Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX). "'Some of us believe that the Bible is accurate. Certainly, so many prophesies have been fulfilled, and if that is true, this administration, unless they can find a verse that accurately says that those who betray Israel will be blessed, then this country is being dug in a deeper hole by this administration and its betrayals of Israel's trust and Israel's friendship."

Read more:

- Heavenly Father, we lift up praise that this lawmaker has spoken out and informed all who would listen in the government, what kind of consequences are incurred by any nation if it betrays Israel! May the words spoken by Congressman Goehmert settle deeply into many minds and spirits of all in authority, in the Name of Jesus, Amen and Amen.

- "Surely the righteous shall give thanks to Your name; the upright shall dwell in Your presence." (Psalm 140: 13)

3. White House urges Senate to hold off on Iran sanctions - NBC News

House Passed Sanctions Bill in August by a Vote of 400-20; Senate Drafting Similar Bill Now

The Obama administration is pressing the U.S. Senate not to slap even tougher sanctions on Iran, with Vice President Joe Biden and Secretary of State John Kerry both visiting Capitol Hill on Wednesday to make a personal pitch against imposing stricter penalties aimed at curtailing Iran's nuclear program.

But there's an intense appetite among lawmakers for punishing Iran even further -- a bill to do it has already passed the House -- and the administration is facing an uphill battle in pressing the Democratic-controlled chamber to delay them. . . at a House Foreign Affairs Committee hearing on Wednesday, both Republicans and Democrats called for more aggressive sanctions and expressed fear that weakening sanctions would strengthen Iran's hand. Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, R-Fla., labeled the talks "fairy-tale progress." Tougher sanctions passed the House with an overwhelming 400-20 vote this summer. . . while 76 senators signed an August letter calling for tougher sanctions, representing a broad bipartisan majority.

SEE HOW YOU CAN TAKE ACTION BY READING OUR ARTICLE, FURTHER DOWN THE PAGE.

- Offer a huge chorus of PRAISE that, on the issue of ISRAEL, our Congress stands UNITED in defending our staunchest ally in the Middle East. Offer prayer that the momentum towards establishing strict sanctions against Iran, birthed in the House, will now continue in the Senate as its members write legislation to fulfill this goal. In this case, we ask you to both PRAY and to ACT. Call your senator immediately and ask him or her to pass a bill with the strictest sanctions possible against a nuclear Iran. Go!

- "Thy people shall volunteer freely in the day of Thy power." (Psalm 110:3)

4. EU and US edge toward trade deal - BBC

A week of trade talks in Brussels have taken the European Union and the United States a little closer to a deal to liberalise bilateral trade. EU officials say the trade relationship with the US is already the biggest in the world, worth more than 2bn euros (£1.7bn) a day. But barriers remain, and removing them could make this sum even bigger.

Read more:

- Lord, be in the midst of these discussions. If this trade deal is for the good of citizens as well as business, let that be shown. If it is destructive in any way, make this clear - and raise up confusion and breakdown in the discussions. We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayer, in Jesus' Name, Amen and Amen.

-"For the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the ungodly shall perish." (Psalm 1: 6)

5. AG Holder asks for appeal in Fast and Furious case holding him in contempt - Fox News

Attorney General Eric Holder wants to appeal a recent judge's ruling that allows the House to continue with its contempt case, related to Holder's refusal to turn over documents concerning the Justice Department's failed Operation Fast and Furious gun-tracking program. Holder made the request Friday night to U.S. District Court Judge Amy Berman Jackson, asking that the Justice Department be allowed to put the case in front of a federal appeals court before Jackson makes any final decisions. In September, Jackson rejected the Obama administration's request to have the case dismissed.

Read more:

- Abba Father, we ask that any appeal by Eric Holder be bypassed, and the requested documents be produced for review. Father, this nation needs the return of accountability and integrity in its justice system. Have mercy Father! We ask in the Name of Jesus, Amen and Amen.

- "A fool's mouth is his destruction, and his lips are the snare of his soul."
(Proverbs 18: 7)

6. U.S. Supreme Court Refuses to Reinstate Oklahoma Law Requiring Ultrasound Before Abortions

The U.S. Supreme Court has refused to hear a case that would reinstate ultrasounds before abortions in Oklahoma, Christian News reports. Last December, the Oklahoma Supreme Court ruled it was unconstitutional to require abortionists to perform an ultrasound, describing the view of the unborn baby in detail an hour before ending the child's life. The court pointed back to Planned Parenthood vs. Casey, which says state laws cannot inhibit a woman's ability to obtain an abortion.

Read more:

- Heavenly Father, this article greatly saddens us because it seems that the highest court of our land does not acknowledge abortion is murder. And Scripture clearly states: "Thou shalt not kill." We ask You, Father, to rise up and confront each member of this court with the fear of You - and the meaning of life - by whatever means needed. We pray in the Name of Jesus, Amen and Amen.

- "A fool has no delight in understanding, but in expressing his own heart."
(Proverbs 18: 2)

7. Appeals court rebukes administration's 'narrow' religious liberty view - CNA

The 7th Circuit Court of Appeals has ruled that the Obama administration's defense of the HHS mandate is "unsound and extraordinary" for contending that business owners cannot have religious freedom protections. Compelling businesses owners and their companies to provide services such as abortion-causing drugs and devices, sterilization, and contraception "substantially burdens their religious exercise rights," the court wrote.

Read more:

- Heavenly Father, we lift up praise for this decision passed down by the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals! We ask that this decision stand, and that businesses will not be forced to choose between their religious beliefs and being able to offer healthcare coverage for their employees. In the Name of Jesus we pray, Amen and Amen.

- "For the Lord is righteous, He loves righteousness; His countenance beholds the upright." (Psalm 11: 7)

8. Obamacare Brings Pain to Elderly Americans - Breitbart

Private insurance provider United Health said in October that underfunding of Medicare Advantage plans for the elderly could not be fully offset by the company's other healthcare business. The company also reported spending more healthcare premiums on medical claims in the third quarter, due mainly to government cuts to payments for Medicare Advantage services.

The Journal report said that doctors in at least 10 states were notified of being laid off the plans, some citing "significant changes and pressures in the healthcare environment." According to the notices, the terminations can be appealed within 30 days.

President Obama promised every American they could keep their doctor under ObamaCare. This is another promise not being kept, this time for legions of senior citizens. Because President Obama delayed the employer mandate, the worst of ObamaCare has not yet hit. We are only at the beginning of a rolling catastrophe.

Read more:

- Abba Father, the funding of medical care for the elderly keeps being cut and slashed. It is so minimal now that many doctors will no longer be associated with the insurance plans, so patients will be losing the doctors with long term knowledge of their health and needs. We ask You to bring down this destructive law in Jesus' Name, Amen and Amen.

- "God is a just judge, and God is angry with the wicked every day." (Psalm 7: 11)

9. White House Rethinks Biofuel Mandate - The Blaze

The Obama administration on Friday proposed to reduce the amount of ethanol in the nation's fuel supply for the first time, acknowledging that the biofuel law championed by both parties in 2007 is not working as well as expected. Friday's announcement comes just days after The Associated Press released a major report on the long-term damage the Obama-backed ethanol mandate has caused to the environment.

Read more:

- Lord, we lift up praise over this report. We ask You, Lord, to be in the midst of this discussion, and to reduce or eliminate this poorly researched addition to gasoline. It seriously damages cars, small engines and the atmosphere, while cutting the corn needed for global food supplies. We thank you in advance for this change, in Jesus' Name, Amen and Amen.

- "Diverse weights and diverse measures, they are both alike, an abomination to the Lord." (Proverbs 20: 10)

10. 'WHOLE NEIGHBORHOOD'S GONE' - AP

STRING OF TORNADOES and storms sweep through the Midwest, causing heavy damage in Washington, Ill., shown above, and leaving at least five dead across the state as authorities look for trapped survivors.

- Given the size of this massive storm, we offer praise that not more lives were taken. We ask our Lord to comfort those who mourn tonight, to bring His healing touch to the wounded, and to protect all others who are still in the path of these storms. In Jesus' Name, amen.

- "Ask and ye shall receive " (Matthew 7:7)

Christians Get Little Protection from Egypt's New Government, But Too Afraid to Complain - McClatchyDC

KERDASA, Egypt - Nearly three months after nearby residents looted and burned the Archangel Michael Church, Rida Gaballah, 49, one of the six people who tried to stave off thousands of attackers, stood among the ruins.

Utterly dismayed by the missing pews, the charred paintings of Jesus and the cross ripped off from the front door, he simply kept repeating: "This scene is horrible. This scene is horrible."

The Egyptian government vowed to rebuild the church, one of 74 destroyed in the first three months after the military ousted Mohammed Morsi from the presidency July 3. But work has yet to begin here, leaving the church as a monument to the violence brought by Morsi's Islamist supporters - and to the government's failure to protect historic Egyptian institutions.

But Gaballah, like other Christians, is reluctant to criticize. "Of course they are doing enough," Gaballah said when asked about the government's efforts, even as the scene around him proved otherwise, just 16 miles from the capital.

The government historically has done little to protect Christians from the occasional outbreak of Islamist violence. No one has ever been convicted in Egypt for destroying church-related buildings, going back to 1972, when a parochial school was burned. There has been, at best, a single arrest in the most recent orgy of church burnings.

Yet Christians are loath to criticize the militarily imposed government, fearing, analysts say, inflaming hostility with a new regime that at least has not engaged in the anti-Christian rhetoric that characterized the yearlong rule of Morsi, an Islamist who rose to prominence through the secretive Muslim Brotherhood.

A storm of prophetic proportions

Could the storm centered over Illinois during the weekend have been the consequence of the current Administration's throwing Israel under the bus and aligning itself with Iran by lifting sanctions against its nuclear program? Now before you hit the "unsubscribe" button and run out of the room screaming, just consider a couple of things. The news media has not reported much about Secretary of State John Kerry's unilaterally lifting sanctions against Iran in hopes of negotiating at least a public win on Iran's nuclear program. But Iran, playing its usual rope a dope cat and mouse game, didn't blink, and Kerry not only lost, but also lost the credibility of the US in the process. Then comes the storm.

I have read Carolyn Glick of Frontpage Mag for many years. I must say that I have not seen her so agitated as in her November 15 column. Here are some excerpts: "As for Kerry's lies to the US's chief Middle Eastern allies, it was the British and the French who informed the Israelis and the Saudis that...the draft agreement exposed Washington's willingness to effectively end economic sanctions against Iran in exchange for Iran's agreement to cosmetic concessions that will not slow down its nuclear weapons program." White House correspondent and author of "Eye to Eye" Bill Koenig has documented consistent major political, financial and natural catastrophes occurring within 48-72 hours of a US president coming against Israel. He has gone as far back as President Nixon in these events.

There are many people who believe degrees of replacement theology and say that Israel of today is not the prophetic Israel of the Bible. They cite theories that the Jewish people do not have the spirit of God in them and that because the Jews rejected God, He no longer considers them His people. These are misguided. Israel is Israel. Jerusalem is Jerusalem. And the prophecies about the end times are true. It was God who made covenant with his people. Genesis 17:7, "And I will establish My covenant between Me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant to be a God unto thee and to thy seed after thee." Genesis 12:3, "And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curses thee."
Covenants made by God are not broken like those made by men. The Lord promised that Israel will become a nation again and his people would return there. The Lord also said he will put his spirit into his people. Ezekiel 37:21-22, "Behold I will take the children of Israel from among the heathen, whither they be gone, and will gather them on every side, and bring them into their own land, and I will make them one nation in the land upon the mountains of Israel." For me, I do not see it as mere coincidence that the president's adopted home state of Illinois got hammered with a storm after he tried to support one of the major end time players against Israel--Iran. Just saying...
Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

Pray for the Philippines

Pray for the Philippines

Dear Friends,

We have received these prayer concerns for the Philippines from one of the Christian leaders there. Let's please keep these concerns in our hearts before God during the coming days. Thanks for praying,

John Robb
International Prayer Connect
Thursday, November 14, 2013

Thank you for your messages, prayers and concern for our current situation in the Philippines. As you know, a super typhoon named Haiyan (deadlier than Hurricane Katrina that had swept the US) ravaged the provinces in the central part of our archipelago last Friday. These cities are a plane ride away from Manila, so those of us live in the capital city are safe. Before the typhoon struck, Christians were praying that the Lord would change the typhoon's course. As it was however, fierce winds and tsunami-like waves totally whipped these provinces, killing an estimated 10,000 helpless victims. Warnings and preparations for evacuation and relief work were no match for the winds and rain. Many cities now look like no man's land.
But our Lord is sovereign over all; He never fails us and we believe that as a nation, this is an opportunity to show our spirit of unity, deep faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and demonstrate our selfless giving. We have not seen in our history such a generous outpouring of aid and supplies from within the country (through the private sector), and from countries around the world, (some of them erstwhile 'enemies' of the Philippines). Everywhere, we see people wanting to help out and give their support. Please pray with us through the weeks and months ahead of relief, rescue and rehabilitation work, on behalf of the millions of Filipinos who are helpless victims of this tragedy.
[To pray through these seven, detailed prayer requests, please go here.]
With sincerest thanks,

Menchit

Obama v. The Military

Obama Weakening Military in Unprecedented Ways

WASHINGTON - The U.S. military, which has seen generals and other high-level officers relieved of duty at an unprecedented rate during the Obama administration, is in trouble largely because of the radical social experimentation being forced upon it, according to the Center for Military Readiness.

CMR's president, Elaine Donnelly, said in an interview with WND that officers have gotten the Obama administration's message of political correctness - "and most have been virtually silent ever since."

Under Obama, she said, budgets for the military have been slashed, SEAL Team Six members exposed as the ones who killed Osama bin Laden, open homosexuality introduced and service members pressed into service to hold an umbrella over the president during the rain.

During the Reagan administration, Donnelly was appointed by Defense Secretary Caspar Weinberger to the Defense Advisory Committee on Women in the Services. And in 1992, Pres. George H. W. Bush likewise appointed her to the Presidential Commission on the Assignment of Women in the Armed Forces.

Donnelly says Obama has done "great damage" to the military by taking away resources and imposing "heavy burdens of social experimentation." Read more (WorldNet Daily)

TAKE ACTION: CALL YOUR SENATOR TODAY!

Prevent Iranian Nuclear Weapons Capability

House and Senate members have spearheaded initiatives to strengthen economic sanctions on Iran in order to prevent Tehran from acquiring a nuclear weapons capability.

By a resounding vote of 99-0, the Senate on May 22 passed a resolution (S. Res. 65) declaring that: (1) prevention of an Iranian nuclear weapon remains American policy; (2) it is essential to step up enforcement of sanctions against Iran; and (3) the United States will stand by Israel should the Jewish state feel compelled to take military action in its own defense against Iran. The resolution was co-authored by Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Robert Menendez (D-NJ).

Similarly, by a resounding vote of 400-20, the House on July 31 passed the Nuclear Iran Prevention Act of 2013 (H.R. 850), which will strengthen enforcement of current U.S. sanctions on Iran, expand sanctions targeting Iran's human rights violations, and, for the first time, specifically authorize the president to impose sanctions on any entity that maintains significant commercial ties to Iran. The bill, which received 379 cosponsors, was introduced by House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Ed Royce (R-CA) and Ranking Member Eliot Engel (D-NY). A Senate version of the bill remains pending.
In addition to this legislation, 76 senators signed a letter by Sens. Robert Menendez (D-NJ) and Lindsey Graham (R-SC) that urges President Obama to toughen sanctions against Iran and bring a "renewed sense of urgency to the process" of stopping Tehran from achieving a nuclear weapons capability. Click here to view the text and signatories of the letter.

KEY POINTS:

1. Iran represents a growing threat.
Iran may be entering the final stages in its pursuit of a nuclear weapons capability, a development that would pose a major threat to the United States and Israel and spur a nuclear arms race in the Middle East.

2. More sanctions are needed to stop Iran.
The Nuclear Iran Prevention Act of 2013 (H.R. 850) strengthens the implementation of existing sanctions and adopts newer and stronger ones in order to persuade Tehran to halt its illicit behavior.

3. America must stand with Israel.
The United States must make clear that it will not tolerate an Iranian nuclear capability and that it will stand by Israel should the Jewish state feel compelled to take military action in its own defense.

An urgent bulletin from Capitol Hill Prayer Partners:

> > > As of this writing, the U.S. Senate is considering passage of a second bill, requiring even stricter sanctions on Iran. President Obama is against this move and is lobbying senators against this move. If you believe stricter sanctions are in order, you must call your own senators and encourage them to vote YES for this bill. Thank you!

You can reach your senator's office by calling the Capitol Switchboard at (202) 224-3121 and ask to be connected to the member of your choice. Thank you again.

Amazing Testimony of How Jesus Revealed Himself to a Hindu Girl
from a Royal Family

"Very clearly I heard again the same voice, 'My daughter.' I look[ed] back. There was a bright light shining on the corner. Inside of the light I saw Jesus the Lord."

(India)-An amazing testimony was recently posted by Paul Ciniraj Ministries (PCM), from a former Hindu girl in India.

Sayujya Thampuratti belongs to the Hindu Royal family of Kerala in India, and she shared recently about how Jesus came to her one day-revealing Himself to be the One Way to God the Father-and changed her life forever.

"From childhood I was an idol worshiper," says Sayujya. She describes in the posting how she had been "offering flowers to [her] idols" when one of them fell from her hand and broke into several pieces. She became very upset and "cried with a deep sorrow," she says.

"While I was crying, Somebody touched me on the shoulder. I thought it was my mother . . . the Person touched my shoulder [and] called me 'My daughter,'" described Sayujya. "I was shocked because it was a gentleman's [voice]. I stood up immediately and turned towards Him; but I found nobody behind me. I looked around the corners. I was surprised to [find] nothing because I was quite sure that [Someone] had touched me and called me as daughter," continued Sayujya.

Finding no one, the girl went back to her room and tried to put the broken idol back together, to no avail. She began to weep again, until . . .
"Very clearly I heard again the same voice, 'My daughter,'" Sayujya described. "I look[ed] back. There was a bright light shining on the corner. Inside of the light I saw Jesus the Lord. I quickly understood it was Jesus, because many times I saw His picture several places. Jesus told me, 'My daughter, I am the Way, the Truth and the Life; no man comes unto God the Father, but by Me. Believe Me . . . and follow Me.'

"Automatically I knelt down before Him. I confessed before the Lord Jesus and accepted Him as my personal Savior and Lord," said Sayujya.

Following her amazing conversion, she took all her idols and threw them away, much to the astonishment of her parents. She explained what had happened to them, but "they became angry and began to persecute me," she said. . . Sayujya was able to obtain a Bible from Pastor Paul and Mercy Ciniraj of Paul Ciniraj Ministries (PCM), and she was soon baptized.
Says Sayujya, "I asked Paul Ciniraj Ministries for more Bibles to distribute among my friends that they too will be believing Jesus Christ as their Saviour. Now I share my testimony among my fellow beings and distributing Gospel tracts and Bibles through PCM."

Sayujya added, "Every day I am becoming strong in my faith in Jesus Christ, my Lord. Please pray for my family and friends to experience this marvelous and happiest salvation." (Read more)
