The Daily Brief

1. Thousands Gather in Dealey Plaza to Mark the 50th Anniversary of the Assassination of JFK - Dallas Morning News

As rain and cold weather drifted into Dallas on Friday morning, hundreds of people started to arrive at Dealey Plaza. About 5,000 guests, dignitaries, and news media from around the world are expected to attend the ceremony, which will begin shortly before noon.

~Father, we are still grieved as a nation, that our President was assassinated 50 years ago today. All of us who remember that day will never forget the horror and sadness of it. We especially ask that Your Holy Spirit will comfort the Kennedy family as they remember their loss; and also this nation as we grieve ours as well. We are grateful for all the increased security now to protect our dignitaries, and we pray that there will not be anymore presidential assassinations in this land. We thank You for the good things that President Kennedy did for our nation. Amen.

- "Now listen, you who say, 'Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.' Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes." (James 4:13,14)

2. Gary Hart Speaks Out on the JFK Investigation - Huffington Post

The former presidential candidate and a member of the Senate Committee that probed JFK's assassination says that the Press failed to investigate the truth behind the slaying. He recalled that while the committee was investigating the connection between the assassination, the Mafia and plots against Cuban President Fidel Castro, two of the three main figures involved were also killed.

~Lord, we know a lot of questions still remain concerning this incident, and even the committee that investigated it has not been fully forth-coming. We know that there are many things that are unknown to us - for various reasons - but we also know that You see everything that mankind does, and You have promised to expose those things and deal with the perpetrators Yourself. We thank You for Your great mercy to all of us. We do ask for a revelation of those things that You deem should be exposed, and dealt with accordingly. In Your Name we pray, Amen.

-"Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of Him to Whom we must give account." (Hebrews 4:13,14)

3. Senate Dems weaken GOP power with major filibuster rule change - Fox News

Senate Democrats bowled over Republicans on Thursday to win approval for a highly controversial rule change which would limit the GOP's ability to block nominees, in a move Republicans called a "raw power grab."

~Abba, indeed it does seem that the Democrats have banded together and changed the rules in their favor, so that the two-party system is less effective. Our forefathers knew what they were doing in setting up the governing system of "checks and balances", so that neither side would be able to "lord it over the other", or one branch of government would not become more powerful than the others, and threaten our freedoms and democracy. We do ask that somehow this "power grab" will backfire on them. The majority party should not be making all the rules, and doing an "end-run" against the others. We thank You that You are our Judge. We come against the spirit of lawlessness in our land, which is affecting all of us, from the administration on down. We pray that Your will be done in these United States of Christ. Amen.

- "Honest scales and balances belong to the LORD; all the weights in the bag are of His making." (Proverbs 16:11)

4. CBS Poll: 84% of Democrats Want Obamacare Changed or Repealed - Breitbart

A fascinating number in Wednesday's CBS poll is that only 7% of the American public want ObamaCare "kept in place." A full 93% either believe that changes are needed to the law (48%) or want a full repeal (43%). This pits President Obama and Democrat lawmakers -- who thus far have refused to make any meaningful changes -- against 93% of the American people and 72% of Democrats.

~Abba, we are encouraged by this news and these figures. We ask that You would inspire all of these folks to make their dissatisfaction and wishes known to their legislators, and that this dictatorial bill against the will of the people be struck down. We are reminded this week of President Lincoln's address at Gettysburg 150 years ago, reinforcing that this is a government "of the people, by the people, and for the people". We ask that it will continue to be so, and that no individual or political party can force their particular will upon the people. Defend and protect us, O Lord, we pray, and preserve our Republic. . . Amen!

- "Awake, and rise to my defense! Contend for me, my God and Lord. Vindicate me in Your righteousness, Lord my God' do not let them gloat over me. Do not let them think 'Aha, just what we wanted!' or say, 'We have swallowed him up'." (Psalm 35:23-25)

5. U.S. budget negotiators seek two-year funding deal: congressman - Reuters

U.S. budget talks are aiming for a two-year deal that would end divisive fiscal showdowns that have plagued Congress since 2011, while also easing the severe across-the-board spending cuts that otherwise would be triggered in 2014 and 2015, a Republican negotiator said on Wednesday.

~Lord, we commit this whole budget legislation to You, asking for Your wisdom to be imparted to both Houses of Congress and all of our Senators and Congressmen, and our President, to find an equitable way to balance the budget without increasing our national debt. Surely, that does require divine wisdom, and we pray that they will ask, and receive that wisdom, for the good of the nation. Help them to prioritize, not according to selfish motives, but for the good of their constituents, we pray, Amen.

- "If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, Who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you." (James 1:5)

6. US senators promise new Iran sanctions measure within weeks - Ynet News

A group of 14 Democratic and Republican US senators said on Thursday they would work together on legislation to impose new sanctions on Iran over the coming weeks, and work to pass it as quickly as possible.

~Abba, again we come to You, the Lord of the nations, and we ask that these sanctions would be effective in stopping Iran in their nuclear pursuits. We ask that our President would agree to the sanctions. O Lord, we do not want to incur Your wrath in our nation, due to our government helping Iran, and turning against Israel. We ask that our Legislators will ban together in support of Israel - our only ally in the Middle East - and consider her enemies to be our enemies we pray. Amen.

- "I will bless those who bless you, and I will place a curse on those who harm you. And all the people on earth will be blessed through you."(Genesis 12:3)

7. Seven Volcanoes In Six Different Countries All Start Erupting Within Hours of Each Other - Activist Post So, we have eruptions big enough to prompt evacuations. Flights are canceled, and a new island pops up off the coast of Japan. I would have called that newsworthy myself but obviously I'm wrong. If I was right it would have been common knowledge right? Reports may have been on the news right? (Read more)

~Lord, seven volcanoes within hours of each other? What are You saying? We come to You, and ask that as this gets the world's attention, that all the nations would recognize that You are the Creator of this Universe, and when You speak, it is wisdom on our part, to listen. We do ask that this will be made known to all the peoples on the earth! All creation is indeed groaning and travailing, awaiting Your return, and judgment of all the nations. We pray this will be a "wake-up" call, and will be heeded, and harm averted. We ask for Your protection of those people and villages or towns or countryside that are in the paths of these eruptions. Bring glory to Yourself, Lord, and may these people turn to You. Amen.

- "We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship, the redemption of our bodies." (Romans 8:22,23)

Update: German Homeschoolers before the Supreme Court

Supreme Court Orders Government to Respond in German Homeschoolers Asylum Case

Dear HSLDA Members and Friends:

The Supreme Court ordered Attorney General Eric Holder to respond in writing to Home School Legal Defense Association's petition on behalf of the Romeikes.

After fleeing persecution for homeschooling in Germany in 2008, the Romeike family was granted asylum by Immigration Judge Lawrence O. Burman in 2010. The Obama administration revoked their asylum in 2012 and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals affirmed the administration's position saying that Germany was merely enforcing a general law regarding truants. HSLDA appealed to the Supreme Court on October 10, 2013.

"We are pleased by the Court's interest in the issues we have presented in our petition," said HSLDA Chairman Michael Farris. "Romeike v. Holder gives the Court an opportunity to address important religious freedom and human rights issues. We hope that after due consideration of the government's brief they will agree to hear our case."

- We offer praise for this good report, and ask for continued prayer on behalf of this homeschooling family. Also, since the decision was made by the Court this week to "let stand" the pro-life law in the State of Texas, we cannot but wonder . . . might there be a new wind blowing now through this august chamber?? Praise God!
- "For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil." (I Peter 3:12)

Is it Time for a "Second Revolution?"

Crowd declares '2nd Revolution' outside White House

Calls for Obama's resignation: 'We the People have had enough!'

Former Reagan Justice Department lawyer Larry Klayman hopes the 19th of November will rank with the 4th of July, someday.

He called the day the beginning of "The Second American Revolution."

Klayman organized a rally Tuesday at Lafayette Park, across from the White House, by the "The Reclaim America Now" coalition.

That coalition is composed of about three-dozen conservative groups, including 2 Million Bikers to D.C., Jihad Watch, Freedom Watch, Gun Owners of America, Accuracy in Media, Tea Party Patriots and the Western Center for Journalism.

About 200 hardy patriots concerned about the direction of the country gathered on a sunny but chilly day to hear speakers call for two goals: The renewal of America and the resignation of President Obama.

Klayman accused Obama of establishing tyranny in America, declaring, "We the People have had enough of the corrupt and incompetent ways of the Obama administration and its bipartisan political enablers. It is time for action, not words."

But, the attorney suggested the remedy is in the hands of ordinary Americans.

"In the style of Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jr. and others who have changed history and reclaimed freedom, Americans have no choice - as the three branches of government have completely abdicated their representation of citizens' complaints. The government needs to fear that the people will rise up if things do not change in Washington, D.C.," he declared.

Australia Launches a National Day of Purification

Australia Launches a National Day of Purification and Humiliation:
Friday & Saturday, November 29, 30

America's National Day of Repentance Joins in Supporting this Act

On the day after Thanksgiving, the leadership of the National Day of Repentance will join with the founders of the Canberra House of Prayer for All Nations in Australia to enter into a day of purification and humiliation.

Capitol Hill Prayer Partners joins them in this work, and encourages all of our partners to please broadcast this message to your own networks of believers.
The National Day of Purification and Humiliation will observe the Hebrew calendar, beginning on Friday, November 29 at sundown and ending 24 hours later on Saturday, November 28 -- again at sundown.
"We declare that it's time to seek God's Purity for our nation. We as believers in Christ join together in homes, churches and places of prayer, to worship and focus on the Holiness of our God. We acknowledge our deep need for His help in order for us to follow His righteous ways."
"We recognize that the worldly culture has infiltrated our hearts and thinking, our homes, the Body of Christ and our nation. As God's people, we humble ourselves before the Lord and seek His face and repent of; breaking covenant with God, immorality, bloodshed, lust of the eyes, pride of life, and not resisting the temptations of the evil one through entertainment and advertising. We repent of not living by God's standards in His Word, including His definition of marriage, and of not partaking of His Holiness."
"We choose this day to turn back into covenant relationship with God, and to leave our old sinful ways behind us. We seek God's forgiveness and pray that God will hear from heaven, forgive our sins and heal our land, giving us grace to submit to follow Christ's ways of Purity for His name's sake, making changes in our lifestyles, through the leading and empowerment of the Holy Spirit. We devote ourselves to sincerely follow His ways as Christ's Bride, in preparation for His soon return."

"Thanksgiving and Freedom" --

A video teaching from CitizenLink

The Pilgrims laid a foundation of liberty that influenced the U.S. Constitution. That foundation also informs the battle over religious freedom, today.

Thank you for taking your own stand to defend Christmas activities where you live this season. Stand tall! And be heard!

Please note: This video reminds us that the first Congress sent a memo to President Washington, asking him to proclaim a national day of Prayer and Thanksgiving. This was to remember the war they had just survived; the Constitution they had just written; and the Bill of Rights, guaranteeing our religious freedom.

Today, a petition is once again being circulated again by our citizens, asking our government to also proclaim a day of prayer, fasting, and repentance, seeking the Hand of God for His blessings over our nation. To learn more, go here.
