1. The Defense Rests . . . Zimmerman Tells Court He Will Not Testify - Fox News

George Zimmerman, right, tells court he will not testify at his murder trial; his defense team, including attorneys Mark O'Mara and Don West then rest their case. (Read more)

- Over one year ago, the saints who prayed on site joined with all of you in prayer to establish a BEACHHEAD of calm in the midst of this looming, racial storm. The Lord heard our prayers, and the nation has remained at peace.

Now, as the jurors are sequestered to determine the verdict in this emotional case, please continue to lift up the intercession, born out of the hearts of our prayer warriors last year, so that that which has been established in the heavens will remain on earth. May God give us the grace to MAINTAIN the beachhead, already wrought out of His heart for our people. Pray, asking for a fair and just verdict in this hour. Pray!

- " For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus." (Phil. 1:6)

2. CBO: 20+ Week Fetuses Aborted at Rate of 30 Per Day; Saves Money for Government-Run Health Care - (CNSNews.com)

Unborn babies who have reached at least 20 weeks of age in utero are aborted at a rate of about 30 per day in the United States, according to the Congressional Budget Office. The CBO has also concluded that aborting babies at 20 weeks or later in pregnancy saves money for the government-run federal-state Medicaid system. The Republican-majority House approved the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act on Jun 18 by a vote of 228 to 196. To become law it would need to be approved in the Democrat-majority Senate and be signed by President Barack Obama. (Read more)

- My Father, the abortion clinics are committing crimes of murder and shedding innocent blood that greatly surpasses the slaughters committed during the Holocaust. We plead with the Most High God to close down every abortion clinic in the United States. Forgive us our sins of tolerating this obscene crime in our nation for this duration. God, intervene speedily and drive out this merciless heartless crime. In Jesus' Name.

- "For all that do these things are an abomination unto the Lord: and because of these abominations the Lord thy God shall drive them out from before you." (Deuteronomy 18:12)

3. Commerce Dept. Spent $2.7 Million to Fix Nonexistent Computer Virus - (CNSNews.com)

The Commerce Department destroyed more than $170,000 worth of working computers, televisions and cameras, all in response to a cyber threat that "did not exist." The Economic Development Administration (EDA), which promotes innovation and competitiveness within the Commerce Department, feared its IT network was infected with a widespread virus, and ultimately spent more than $2.7 million to fix a problem that was nothing more than "common malware." According to an inspector general report released on June 26, the EDA based its decision to destroy its computers on "inaccurate information." (Read more)

- Father, we declare that the mighty hand of our God will come upon the Commerce Department and the Economic Development Administration to bring a shaking that will shake off all devious evil interference whose aim is to bring shame and lack of confidence upon the inner-workings of the American government. God, by this declaration all this is now in Your hands, Lord, and we trust You to redeem this loss. In Jesus' Name.

- "And it came to pass, that when all our enemies heard thereof, and all the heathen that were about us saw these things, they were much cast down in their own eyes: for they perceived that this work was wrought of our God." (Nehemiah 6:16)

4. Report Details Hostility in U.S. Military toward Christian Members - (CNSNews.com)

A coalition of legislators and religious freedom advocates warned Tuesday about the growing hostility toward Christians serving in the military and called for a federal statute to protect the religious liberty of troops. The Family Research Council distributed a report, "A Clear and Present Danger: The Threat to Religious Liberty in the Military," at the press conference on Tuesday at the Capitol detailing incidences of that hostility . . . Rep. John Fleming (R-La.) sponsored and the House passed an amendment to the 2014 National Defense Authorization Act to create a statute designed to protect the religious liberty of service members, including the freedom to live out and talk about one's religious beliefs. (Read more)

- Father, You are God and there is now power in heaven or earth greater than You and we ask that by Your great power all the enemies of our God in the military will bow to the Name of God, the Name of Jesus, and the Name of the Holy Spirit and they all be defeated by the Blood of Jesus and our military will have religious freedom from this day forward. In the Name of Jesus.

- "For it is written, As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to Me, and every tongue shall confess to God." (Romans 14:11)

5. NSA surveillance: Supreme Court is asked to halt phone spying on Americans - Christian Science Monitor

A nonprofit privacy group asked the US Supreme Court on Monday to invalidate a secret court order that authorized the US government to collect and retain all telephone metadata from every Verizon business customer in the United States. The order was issued April 25 and required Verizon Business Network Services to turn over the data every day through July 19, 2013. (Read more)

- Father God, we call forth the groups who are spying on Americans' metadata and we trust You to clamp down on this nonprofit privacy group that is invading the privacy of American citizens. Put up a boundary that will halt this invasive tactic by the hand of our God. In Jesus' Name.

- "Howbeit our God turned the curse into a blessing." (Nehemiah 13:2)

6. Gun seizures trigger fear of massive police power - WND

A flurry of recent stories about police knocking on - and sometimes knocking in - people's front doors have raised alarms in both the U.S. and Canada about whether the home is still constitutionally protected from increasing police power.

As WND reported, High River, Alberta, has become a recent focal point of the controversy, when it was revealed Royal Canadian Mounted Police entered the flooded town after a mandatory evacuation, broke down doors and began confiscating "several hundred" firearms. (Read more)

- Lord God, You are God over all and we plead for the protection of Canadian and American citizens from the massive police power that invades our homes without cause. God, we trust You to put forth Your hand and to stop these police tactics. Send myriads of angels to stand in their path and block this invasive procedure. Change the law from the top down. In Jesus' Name we offer this prayer, amen.

- "The Lord reigns. A fire goes before Him, and burns up His enemies round about." (Psalm 97:1,3)

7. Kenya Leader Rejects Obama's Pro-Gay Views: 'We Believe in God' - (CNSNews.com)

Remarks by President Barack Obama during his recent Africa trip concerning sexual orientation and discrimination were rebuked by several Kenyan leaders as contrary to the laws of God, who also emphasized that Kenya "is a God-fearing nation." It is illegal to engage in homosexual practices in 37 African states, including Kenya and Senegal. (Read more)

- Father, we praise Your Name that the Kenyan leaders have stood on the side of the Lord and have taken a stand against the sin of homosexuality. Thank You, Lord, for giving them boldness to stand up to unrighteousness. Bless all the God-fearing 37 African states in the mighty Name of Jesus we pray.

- "For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods." (Psalm 95:3)

8. MORE NEWS FROM KENYA - LifeSite News

Kenyan Cardinal John Njue, Archbishop of Nairobi and president of the Kenyan Episcopal Conference, joined other African leaders last week in open dismissal of President Obama's urging to accept same-sex marriage.

"Those people who have already ruined their society . . . let them not become our teachers to tell us where to go," said Njue in response to Obama's statements promoting same-sex marriage. "I think we need to act according to our own traditions and our faiths."

On June 28th, Obama started a tour of three countries in Africa by praising the recent U.S. Supreme Court decisions regarding same-sex marriage, then criticizing his host nations for not accepting it. According to LifeSiteNews, homosexuality is illegal in 38 African nations, including Senegal.

"My basic view is that regardless of race, regardless of religion, regardless of gender, regardless of sexual orientation, when it comes to the law, people should be treated equally," Obama said in Senegal. "And that's a principle that I think applies universally."

Obama's comments were followed by a rebuke from Kenya's Deputy President, William Ruto. Speaking at a Catholic Church, Ruto said, "Those who believe in other things, that is their business. We believe in God."

9. Texas House Approves Abortion Regulation Bill - Gary Bauer

Congratulations to Texas conservatives for persevering in the face of demonstrations, death threats and left-wing media distortions. Last night the State House of Representatives passed a ban on late-term abortions. Once again, the hatred of the left was on full display. Several sources reported that the protestors demanding a right to destroy a baby in the last weeks of pregnancy were chanting "f--- the church."

When State Senator Wendy Davis (D) launched her filibuster of this pro-life bill, several Planned Parenthood leaders and other liberals declared that the pro-choice "majority" was finally speaking up. They were desperately trying to reignite the "war on women." But they are delusional.

Americans overwhelmingly oppose late-term abortions. According to Gallup, just 27% support abortion in the second trimester and only 14% support abortion in the third trimester. Normally Democrats are eager to impose regulations on businesses. But they vehemently oppose any effort to require facilities that destroy babies for profit, and occasionally kill women, to meet modern health standards.

I am grateful to Governor Rick Perry for not allowing an unruly mob to block this important legislation. And I want to give a shout-out to Texas State Senator Brian Birdwell (R). Sen. Birdwell is a former member of my church in northern Virginia, and a brave survivor of grievous wounds from the 9/11 attack on the Pentagon. CWF helped him win a special election to the Texas State Senate, and now he is helping to get this important pro-life legislation passed.

- We give praise to the Lord for this tremendous victory FOR LIFE today in the State of Texas. Praise the Lord!

- "Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord!" (Psalm 150:6)

10. Egypt's Christians Call for 3 Days of Prayers for Peace - Breaking Christian News

In the midst of violence and uncertainty rocking their nation, the General Bishop of The Coptic Orthodox Church in the United Kingdom, Bishop Angaelos, is calling for three days of prayers "for peace, reconciliation and an end to needless violence and loss of life in Egypt," commencing today and coinciding with the end of the Coptic Orthodox Fast of the Apostles and the beginning of the month of Ramadan. (read more)

- Please join these precious saints in praying for PEACE to descend upon their land, even in the midst of a violent people who do not know our Messiah and who are seeking to obliterate the church in that land. God is greater . . . ask Him to make a way for His SHALOM to rest upon the nation of Egypt. In His Name, amen.

- "For I know the plans that I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope." (Jer. 29:11)

The Persecuted Church

Today's Focus: The Persecuted Church

"Continue to remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering." (Hebrews 13:3)

1. Blasphemy Laws: The Legalization of Christian Persecution - HuffPost

As a Christian, there is one thing I dislike even more than blasphemy, and that is legislation that prohibits it. Such laws invariably contribute to increasing intolerance, violence and injustice, and are widely open to misuse. And the key point is, if your God needs man-made laws to protect him from insult, he must be a pretty small and weak deity.

Yet laws criminalising blasphemy, defamation of religion or insulting religious belief are included in the criminal code of several countries, with Russia becoming the latest. On 26 June, Russia's State Duma passed a bill on "causing offence to the sentiments of religious believers", with punishment of up to three years in prison. Countries such as Pakistan, Egypt, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Tanzania, Turkey and Indonesia have had such laws for many years and in some cases it carries the death penalty. The UK repealed its blasphemy law in 2008.

In Pakistan, for example, at least 79 people have been arrested for blasphemy. Some have been jailed for life, or sentenced to death, and while to date no one has actually been executed for blasphemy by the State in Pakistan, even if acquitted or released from prison eventually, a person accused of blasphemy is in danger of being murdered by extremists. Two prominent Pakistani politicians, the Governor of Punjab, Salman Taseer, and Shahbaz Bhatti, Federal Minister for Minorities Affairs and someone I was privileged to call a friend, were assassinated because they called for reform of the law.

2. What Will the Changes Mean for the Middle East's Christians? - World Watch Monitor

Middle Eastern Christians are experiencing one of the most significant periods in their history, according to religious and political leaders meeting in London last week.

Regime changes in Egypt and Iran, and sectarian violence in Syria, Lebanon and Iraq, have presented an opportunity for the Christian minority to speak out, or for international bodies to advocate on their behalf.

Rev. Andrew White, the pastor of an Anglican church in Baghdad, spoke of the "terrible suffering" of Iraq's Christian community. He said that in the last 10 years since Saddam Hussein was toppled, 1026 members of his congregation had been killed - 58 within one day.

White said that in the last decade, Iraq's Christian population had shrunk from 1.5 million to around 200,000.

As Egypt adapts to its second regime change in two years, Bishop Angaelos, leader of the Coptic Church in the UK, said Egyptians are beginning to embrace their identity as Egyptians, rather than only as part of a group of distinct communities.

"It was unheard of before two years ago that Egyptian flags would be flying on the streets because people felt that they were not really part of a single nation state, so they reverted to their own religion, whether Christian or Muslim," he said.

The Bishop said that one Muslim Brotherhood leader said he felt closer to an Indonesian Muslim than a Coptic Christian because of the concept of the nation of Islam, the Ummah.

In this way, he said former President Mohamed Morsi's religious-led government had highlighted the distinctions between the different faith communities, rather than brought people together.

3. Chinese Universities Alarmed by Rise of Christianity on Campus - People's Daily

After concluding a two-year study on college students' religious beliefs, Marxist scholars warned against the rapid growth of Christianity and proselytization disguised as cultural studies on campuses across China.

Such warnings were met with objections as many people believe there is nothing wrong with college students discovering religion. At the heart of the debate is to what extent and how religion should be discussed and taught on campus.

Xi Wuyi, a Marxist scholar at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, wrote on her blog about a project she led which looked at religion on campuses in 2011 and 2012. She wrote that the percentage of believers among college students was higher than among the general population and growing each year.

However, the validity of the study came under question as researchers surveyed only 195 people at four universities in Beijing, among whom 16 were believers.

Most studies done about religion in China have had rather small sample groups, in the hundreds or a few thousand at best.

Various religions have been growing in China since the 1990s. Official figures from 1997 put the number of protestant Christians at 1 million.

Farm Bill
Conservatives won a major legislative victory last month when over 60 Republicans banded together to defeat the $940 trillion Food Stamp/Farm Bill. We have long maintained that it is better to extend current policy than pass a long-term bill that creates more programs and precludes real reform for another 5 years.
Headed forward into this week, nothing more will come to the floor, but it is likely that the bill will return in some form before the August recess. One option being floated by leadership is to finally split food stamps off of the agriculture portion and sever the bills. That would constitute a major victory for conservatives, as the long established alliance between urban and rural interests has been used as a means to grow government for years. However, it is clear from some comments made by establishment Republicans that the bills would be re-sown together after passage or by the time they reach conference committee.
Moreover, even if they sever the two portions of the bill, they should not bring them to the floor without major reforms. The point of separating them out is so we can actually reform them individually without the robust alliance they enjoy when bundled together. What is the point of separating them without reforms?

The Daily Jot

White House failed, but possibly prophetic, foreign policy

The White House is a failure in both domestic and foreign policy if you are viewing it from a moral and/or a Constitutional lens. The occupant of the Oval Office's foreign policy of supporting the Muslim Brotherhood and al Qaeda in taking over countries in the Middle East, however, may well have a prophetic bent to it. From Ezekiel to Isaiah to Daniel to Micah, the Bible is quite clear on who will attack Jerusalem in the Day of the Lord--It is a coalition of Islamic nations who are in modern Turkey, Iran, Libya, Sudan, and parts of Saudi Arabia. Zechariah says that in that day, all the nations are gathered against Jerusalem--now the United States may not only be considered one of them, but is a catalyst of bringing it about.

The unrest in Egypt is indicative of US meddling on behalf of God's enemies. Many will say that Muslims are an Abrahamic religion and that Christians, Jews and Muslims worship the same God. Let us be clear. John wrote in 1 John 2:22, "Who is a liar but he that denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denies the Father and the Son." Islam denies at least six times in the Koran that God has a son. Sura 17:111 says "Praise be to God who has never begotten a son; who has no partner in His Kingdom." Jesus said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

Obama believes there is more than one way to heaven. He has said there is no better sound on earth than the Muslim call to prayer. He supports late term abortion, homosexuality, and has shown through his policies that he is against Christianity, but favors Islam. He is an enemy of God. He spends your tax money to support the enemies of God. In fact, even amidst a coup that is against his chosen Muslim Brotherhood president, he will not declare it a coup because that would mean by law he could not send any more of your money to the Muslim Brotherhood government in Egypt. Press Secretary Jay Carney told reporters that it is too complex of a situation to declare it a coup.
Translated, that means that the Administration is stalling, even breaking the law, to ensure that your money continues toward the support of God's enemies. I know this is blunt, but this White House is engaged in accelerating end time prophecy toward that day when all the nations are gathered against Jerusalem. We cannot stop the march of prophecy, but we can determine our place in it. The White House is reserving a front seat for destruction by accelerating end time prophecy on behalf of God's enemies. In Zechariah 12:9, God says, "And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem." At this pace, America may not make it even to that day.
Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

2 Chronicles 7:14 on Sunday, July 14

A Day of Repentance, 2 Chronicles 7:14 on Sunday 7/14

When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people, if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place. - 2 Chronicles 7:13-15

This is the season for the children of the One and Only Living God to embrace the Father's Heart in 2 Chronicles 7:14. Therefore, we invite the Global Body of the Christ to participate in A Day of Repentance 7/14 during Sunday worship services on July 14, using 2 Chronicles 7:14 as our common guide for unity, humility, prayer and repentance from our sins that the Lord may forgive and heal our land. We also encourage prayer gatherings on Saturday, July 13 to intercede for a mighty move of the Holy Spirit on Sunday, July 14 as we repent for our sins and the sins of the Church. For additional details and contact information, please visit www.prayersurgenow.net.

"Repent" was the first word Jesus spoke when He began to preach in Matthew 4:17. Repentance is not only the key to entering the Kingdom of Heaven, it is also the key final act by which the Lord - honoring His covenant with His People at a time when He has shut up heaven and has sent pestilence - hears from heaven, forgives our sins and heals our land as revealed in 2 Chronicles 7:13-14. There is now a growing realization in the body of Christ that we need to activate this Truth through days of repentance. In addition, a nonprofit, nondenominational Christian ministry is now supporting the season of repentance (Ten Days from September 4-14) and welcomes all to join without cost to speak for repentance in their community: www.dayofrepentance.org
10 Days is a vision rooted in Jesus' prayer in John 17, "let them be one as we are one". Believing that "Jesus gets what He prays for", it's a strategy for bringing city-wide churches together into a 10 Day season of worship, prayer, and fasting on an annual basis. The focus of the time is three-fold: (1) personal repentance, encounter with God, and transformation; (2) corporate prayer for Scriptural promises; and (3) promoting "eager longing" for the return of Christ. As Zechariah 8:20-21 states, "In that day people from one city will go to another saying, 'Come, seek the Lord with us. I myself am going". It's our hope that such a movement of prayer from city-to-city will take place during this annual time-table.

Prayers During Ramadan

The refugee highway: a spiritual harvest in Europe!

For Thursday July 11, Ramadan 2013 - Day 03. "Loving Muslims Through Prayer"

In July 2012 a group of believers travelled to Athens to help these refugees in word and deed. They worked together with local churches, distributing food and hygiene kits along with Christian literature and Bibles in different languages, as well as 2GB micro-SD cards for mobile phones. These SD cards contained the Jesus film in six languages, an audio Bible and songs, as well as stories from people sharing how they met Jesus in a culturally relevant manner. Many refugees have mobile phones.

PRAYER IDEAS

- Pray for the thousands of Muslims on the refugee highway. Cry out to God that they find true life. (John 14:6 - "I am the way, the truth and the life.")

- Pray that Christians would offer love, respect and help to these refugees. (Matthew 25:35 - "I was a stranger. . .")

- Pray that those Muslim refugees who get to know Jesus can joyfully live out their faith and invite many other Muslims to live with Jesus. (John 13:35 - ". . . that you are my disciples . . .")

All Three Ohio Kidnap Victims Speak to Public for First Time:

"God has a plan for all of us . . ."

"We have been hurt by people, but we need to rely on God as being the Judge. God has a plan for all of us. The plan that He gave me is to help others in the same situation [in which] I have been." - Michelle Knight

Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight have broken their public silence in a short YouTube video posted Monday night in which they said the support and prayers of family, friends, and the general public, are allowing them to rebuild their lives.

Amazingly, the video reveals three women appearing happy and upbeat, considering the horrific abuse they suffered at the hands of their captor for so many years.
. . . Michelle Knight-the third kidnapping victim and one who had reportedly been often beaten by her captor- shared from her apparently prepared message, about how the Lord has helped her in her recovery.
"I may have been through hell and back," said Michelle, "but, walking hand-in-hand with my best Friend, I will not let the situation define who I am; I will define the situation.

Knight continued, "I don't want to be consumed by hatred; with that being said, we need to take a leap of faith and know that God is in control. We have been hurt by people, but we need to rely on God as being the Judge. God has a plan for all of us. The plan that He gave me is to help others in the same situation [in which] I have been . . .

"Thank you for all your prayers, I'm looking forward to my new life." (Read more)
