Introduction to this Special Edition

Over the past year, the European Coalition for Israel (ECI) has been working to release a hidden key to the current Israeli-Palestinian negotiations toward a peace process:

THE SAN REMO CONVENTION.

The San Remo Accords were drafted in 1920 at the San Remo Conference in Italy, and determined the legal boundaries for a Jewish state. This is a document of law, and all other negotiations since have had to adhere to this truth.

Recently, we were blessed to attend a briefing, sponsored by ECI and its U.S. partner, the Unity Coalition for Israel, on Capitol Hill. At that briefing, Dr. Jacques P. Gauthier, world-renowned international legal scholar, author, and human rights advocate, presented the documentation showing the history of Jerusalem and Israel's long established international legal rights. Without doubt, this land belongs to the Jews.

Open letter handed over to the UN

Quartet calls for peace talks to be resumed

New York, September 26th, 2011 - After a year of research and active campaigning, the first phase of the ECI initiative to present the legal foundations of the modern state of Israel has been succesfully concluded. Despite the insistence of Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas to bring his statehood bid to the UN Security Council today Monday, the Middle East Quartet said in a statement that they will recommend that the two parties resume talks by giving them a new timeline for negotiations which may extend the deadline to December 2012. By then a comprehensive peace agreement will have to be achieved. But the new proposal could still fail. Within one month, the two parties would have to agree the basis for the new negotiations in order for the process to continue.

ECI director Tomas Sandell welcomes the recommendation:

It has been our clear objective from the very beginning to ask the Middle East Quartet to reject the unilateral declaration and call for the two parties to start negotiating without any preconditions. If the new Quartet recommendations are implemented, the campaign will have been a great success. The members of the Quartet together make up the bulk of funding for the Palestinian Authority, and without their support, the PA would collapse in weeks.

The ECI campaign has been presented in parliaments in The Hague, Brussels, Berlin, Rome and London as well as to governments in Africa and elsewhere in the world. It culminated in a two week final effort also to present the case to the United Nations in New York. During the UN General Assembly session, the team was able to speak both to UN member state delegates and media, as well as hand over an open letter of support for negotiations signed by 16 prominent European leaders. The letter was presented to the Middle East office of the Secretary General of the United Nations on Thursday. The letter, plus an information pack consisting of the film "Give Peace a Chance", a research document on the Legal foundations of Israel and petitions from Germany, Finland and Italy will be hand delivered to the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon within the next few days.

In the last few weeks, the film which presents Israel's legal case in only 15 minutes, has been translated into 10 languages and viewed by over 38,000 people online, as well as large tv audiences around the world. Whilst in New York, the team had an opportunity also to give interviews and present the film to media in Ukraine, Brazil and Japan, as well as international media outlets such as Newsweek.

Though it would be presumptuous for us to take credit for the calls for renewed talks by the Middle East Quartet, we have worked very hard for over a year to present the facts. We are thankful that reason has prevailed -at least for the time being. By giving the process more time, we will also have more opportunities to present our material to additional UN member states around the world. Though the pressure on Israel may have eased temporarily, the Israeli Government will continue to face major challenges in the coming months, and the pressure for further concessions will continue. At the same time, the Palestinian leadership will continue to press for the approval of the Security Council.

In a conference organized by the Hudson Institute on Thursday, ECI was able to speak with Nobel Peace Prize winner Elie Wiesel about the current mood in the EU towards Israel. When asked if he was disappointed by the lack of support for Israel, he answered - 'I never had any expectations, but Europe should learn from history.'

Though the initial phase of the campaign has now come to an end, ECI will now renew its efforts to present the legal case for Israel in the coming months in order to reach the UN member states with the historical and legal facts of the creation of the Jewish state and its legitimacy under international law.

Herman Cain won an early test vote in Florida that lacked most of the leading candidates' participation.

2. Senate OK's Bill to Avert Shutdown - Fox News

After a heated battle between Dems and GOP over disaster aid, the Senate votes to send a temporary spending bill to the House to avoid a government shutdown.

- God, we know that You are in control of the $3.65 billion in disaster relief funding that will be the answer to the tremendous needs of people suffering from the recent natural disasters. We thank You that this Bill has been passed to protect our government from shutdown and that vital government programs and services will be maintained. You are Lord over all our government and mighty in strength and wisdom to guide our country to a safe haven of knowing we are in the exact perfect will of God. In Jesus' Name.

3. Obama lets states opt out of federal school rules - AP

Nearly everyone agrees the fix needs fixing. The No Child Left Behind law that was supposed to improve American education has left schools grumbling at being labeled "failures," state officials fuming and complaints everywhere about required testing.

- Offer a chorus of praise for this turn of events. The No Child Left Behind Act, originally signed into law by President George W. Bush, has over the years been met with increasingly convoluted and unreasonable demands as others in authority have adapted this program. Pray for wisdom for those in the Department of Education who are tasked with helping our children to learn, and with empowering our teachers to make them do so. God will make a way!

4. Texas School Punishes Boy for Opposing Homosexuality - Fox News

An honors student in Fort Worth, Texas, was sent to the principal's office and punished for telling a classmate that he believes homosexuality is wrong.

- Father, our hearts are grieved at the way our education system in America has turned upside down the laws You gave us. We pray Your protection over the young children who are being influenced this way and ask that You would cause them to stand in Your truth.

5. Dozens arrested in 8th day of 'Occupy Wall Street' protests - CNN

About 80 people were arrested on the eighth day of protests in New York on Saturday, the greatest number since demonstrations started near Wall Street.

- Gracious Lord, we thank You that these protests have not grown bigger than they are. We speak peace over this group and ask that You would show them the truth about the things they are protesting. May Your Spirit arise and may the enemy be scattered, that our streets would be peaceful again.

6. Turkey to deploy warships over gas dispute with Cyprus - Ha'aretz

Fighter jets to be stationed in Turkish-controlled northern Cyprus. It is still unclear whether gas exploration will take place in areas where Israel and Greek-controlled Cyprus have divided exploration rights. Read more.

- We bind up all attempts to intimidate Israel over this exploration for oil. Father, we ask that You would cause these additional actions planned against Your People to fail.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Friday that the Palestinians must first make peace with Israel, and only after that will get their state, during his address to the UN General Assembly in New York.

2. Abbas destroying peace process by not negotiating - Jerusalem Post

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on Sunday blamed Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas for destroying the peace process by refusing to negotiate.

3. Peres: Quartet plan creates new chance to resume talks - Jerusalem Post

President Shimon Peres on Monday praised the new peace initiative introduced by the Quartet of Middle East mediators on Friday, saying the plan creates a new opportunity to resume direct negotiations with the Palestinians, Israel Radio reported.

4. Barak: Despite doubts, we should adopt Quartet plan - Jerusalem Post

Defense Minister Ehud Barak said Sunday that Israel should adopt the new peace initiative introduced by the Quartet of Middle East mediators on Friday at the UN, even if there were reservations.

5. Abbas to demand changes to Oslo peace accords - Ha'aretz

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas said on Saturday that he intends to demand the reopening of the Paris Agreement, the part of the Oslo Accords that deals with economic relations between Israel and the Palestine Liberation Organization.

Netanyahu returns from successful UN trip

Abbas warmly welcomed in Ramallah

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu returned to Israel on Monday after a packed week of meetings, speeches and interviews surrounding events at the UN in New York. The most high profile moment of his trip came on Friday, when he addressed the UN General Assembly. His speech was received politely but unenthusiastically by the majority of diplomats, in stark contrast to the extended standing ovation received by Palestinian Authority president Mahmoud Abbas took the podium. However, much work was conducted out of the public eye, with Netanyahu reportedly gaining appreciation from the US and European governments for his willingness to work with the Quartet on a new peace initiative that sets a new date of December 2012 for a final-status agreement. Meanwhile, the PA flatly rejected the Quartet's ideas, with diplomats confirming that the issue of Israel as a Jewish State was the main sticking point.

Outside the UN, Netanyahu sat for several interviews with major American TV networks, which Israeli ambassador to the US Michael Oren called "an unqualified success." He added "the United States and Israel are more closely coordinated now than they have been at any time in the last two years. We see things very much eye-to-eye on how to move forward. We see the United States as Israel emphasizes that there is no alternative to direct negotiations."

"The truth," Netanyahu said at the UN, and repeated with slight variations in many of his interviews "is that Israel wants peace. The truth is that so far the Palestinians have refused to negotiate. The truth is that Israel wants peace with a Palestinian state, but the Palestinians want a state without peace."

Meanwhile, Abbas was given a warm welcome upon his return to Ramallah on Sunday afternoon, where soon after arriving he placed a garland of flowers on the mausoleum of Yasser Arafat before addressing the crowd of well wishers. He declared that the Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital he had demanded from the UN on Friday would come into being through peaceful protest and negotiations, but only after construction in Israeli settlements had been completely stopped.

1. The U.S. Plan to Avoid a Palestinian Statehood Bid Falls Apart - Atlantic

Ever since the 1970s, the U.S. has served as the primary facilitator for Israeli-Palestinian peace talks. But over the last 24 hours, two events have raised questions about whether the U.S. can still play that role. On Thursday, Palestinian officials defiantly announced that they will press their bid for full U.N. membership in the Security Council despite President Obama's call yesterday for bilateral negotiations outside the U.N. And on Wednesday, French President Nicolas Sarkozy challenged President Obama's approach by proposing that the Palestinians upgrade to "observer" status at the U.N. General Assembly as a precursor to statehood.

- Father, we thank You that our President clearly stated that we must be committed to the safety of Israel, and that we oppose a unilateral declaration of a palestinian state, and also that Israel must be acknowledged as a legitimate Jewish state. We ask that he stand behind his speech, and honor his own words both now, and in the future. We ask, Lord, for the failure of any move toward the dividing of Your Land, in Yeshua's precious Name. Amen.

a. In New York, Christians and Jews rally against Durban - Israel Hayom

Hundreds of pro-Israel demonstrators gathered outside the U.N. building in New York on Wednesday as President Barack Obama and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met for talks inside the building.

b. Durban III conference opens in New York amid allegations of anti-Israel bias - Ha'aretz

As the Palestinian statehood bid draws increasing support at the United Nations convention in New York, key member states have distanced themselves from a conference marking the ten-year anniversary of the Durban anti-racism conference in South Africa, in which both the United States as well as Israel stepped out due its alleged anti-Israel agenda.

- O Lord, the Righteous Judge of the nations, we thank You for the show of solidarity of Your Children from across the nation and the world, standing in agreement and support of Your people, Israel!! We ask You to bless those who are blessing Israel, in their show of unity against this racist conference, falsely accusing Israel of racism. May Truth prevail, and Your people be blessed!! 3. Government Shutdown Looms as Democrats Defeat House Bill - Fox News

Senate Democrats on Friday defeated a House GOP-backed stopgap Continuing Resolution (CR) to fund the government through November 18 by a vote of 59-36. The $1.04 trillion measure contained $3.7 billion for disaster aid . . . Reid then took the House measure, stripped the offsets, and offered a new substitute amendment. A procedural vote is set for Monday night in the Senate, but the chamber's GOP leader, Mitch McConnell, predicted that bill's demise.

Harry Reid is holding a bill up with full funding of what is needed right now for no reason - no reason but for politics. Again, this is why the people just don't have the respect for this institution and this town anymore," charged House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, R-Va.

Still, no one wants a government shutdown, and it was clear Cantor has left the door open to a compromise. He would not say the House would adjourn for a scheduled week-long recess in observance of the Jewish high holidays. Read more.

- Lord, here we are again, or still. We ask that politics be laid aside, and that these elected officials will truly care more about their constituents, and their nation, than about their own jobs and lust for power! We ask that the secret things be revealed, that wasteful, foolish spending would end, and that Your power and wisdom and discernment would lead these Senators and Representatives to stop their "bickering" and foolish "posturing", and get down to the nitty gritty mechanics of solving our economic woes. We pray they would humble themselves, and seek Your way and wisdom; and that You would, indeed, lead them with Your eye!

Republican presidential front-runners Rick Perry and Mitt Romney, taking up where they left off in their last on-stage meeting, attacked each other over Social Security and health care in a televised debate Thursday, with the Texas governor on defense for much of the contest.

6. Ahmadinejad: 'Palestine will one day be liberated' - Jerusalem Post

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said he believes "Palestine will one day be liberated," saying the Iranian government believes it is the Palestinians' right to establish a state, speaking with university students in New York on Wednesday.

Removing all doubt about the peace process

Mark Twain is credited with the quote: "It's better to remain silent and be thought a fool than open ones mouth and remove all doubt." This is good advice, especially for former President Bill Clinton, who along with Jimmy Carter, just can't seem to leave us alone without espousing their brand of wisdom, which is foolishness. We should know that the Clinton machine will become more visible the closer we get to the Democratic nomination process. Clinton is hoping that the current failure in the White House will drop out of the race, clearing the way for his wife. Meantime, he is breaking his silence and removing all doubt about his prowess as a Middle East analyst.

According to Clinton, as reported in Foreign Policy, it is Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu who is to blame for not having a peace deal with the Palestinians. He said, "The most pro-peace Israelis are the Arabs; second the Sabras, the Jewish Israelis that were born there; third, the Ashkenazi of long-standing, the European Jews who came there around the time of Israel's founding. The most anti-peace are the ultra-religious, who believe they're supposed to keep Judea and Samaria, and the settler groups, and what you might call the territorialists, the people who just showed up lately and they're not encumbered by the historical record."

Clinton, of course, was promoting his own peace plan where East Jerusalem is given over to the terrorists as a capital. He said, "[Palestinian leaders] have explicitly said on more than one occasion that if [Netanyahu] put up the deal that was offered to them before -- my deal -- that they would take it." He was referring to the 2000 Camp David deal rejected by Yasser Arafat. Clinton said that the assassination of Yitzhak Rabin and the stroke of Ariel Sharon "make you wonder if God wants Middle East peace or not." It is obvious that even though Clinton carried a Bible to church each Sunday he went during his presidency that he is not up to speed with its content.

Here Clinton is saying that the most pro-peace Israelis are the Palestinian terrorists and the most anti-peace are the ultra-religious who believe they are supposed to keep Judea and Samaria. And this is the way that many world leaders think. Their logic is totally flawed. There will not be peace so long as the Palestinian representatives believe that Israel should be destroyed. Giving them an official country only guarantees more violence, as evidenced by the events coming from Gaza. Jeremiah 8:11 says, "For they have healed the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace." Another translation says "They dress the wound of my people as though it were not serious..."

Abbas' Statement at U.N.

Abbas: No pressure will deter UN statehood initiative

NEW YORK (Ma'an) -- President Mahmoud Abbas said Friday that no amount of pressure could deter him from the UN membership bid, and he was not authorized to discuss any proposals for a return to negotiations with Israelis while in New York.

Abbas addressed around 200 representatives from the Palestinian community in the US at his New York hotel, just hours before he is due to speak at the UN General Assembly and submit an application for full membership of the global body.

"The US administration did all it could to prevent us, but we will go to the Security Council," he vowed.

"We are heading to implement the decision of the Palestinian leadership regardless of the pressure."

What Does Abbas' United Nations Bid Mean?

Palestinian Authority chairman Mahmoud Abbas presented his application for full United Nations membership to Secretary General Ban Ki-moon on Friday. Ban will then pass the application to the Security Council for review. It is widely thought the Security Council will issue a recommendation on the application Friday afternoon.

Procedurally, however, guidelines for a Security Council response only requires they issue their recommendation 35 days before a General Assembly session or 14 days before a special session. The Security Council could table the application for discussion at a later date, in which case Abbas' application could sit in stasis for months.

The Palestinian Liberation Organization has had non-voting observer status at the UN allowing it to participate in deb ates at the world body since 1974.

Abbas has declared he will pursue every option in the 15-member decision making Security Council and 193-member General Assembly to obtain full membership as a recognized sovereign state. (Arutz 7) Read more. [Reported by Unity Coalition for Israel]

Obama Feels The Heat On Israel

[Hussein] Obama spoke to the U.N. General Assembly yesterday. The speech was a "yawner," significant for what he did not say rather than what he said. There was a lot of rhetoric about how bad poverty and nuclear weapons are. (I doubt Iran's Ahmadinejad will be moved to end his nuclear weapons program.) Applause was polite, but nothing more. Obama's habit of apologizing for America during his first three years in office has won us no new "friends" among the world's assorted thugs and dictators.

Perhaps the most telling part of the speech was what Obama did not say about the Middle East conflict. There was no more finger wagging at our trusted ally Israel. He dropped the call for Israel to return to the indefensible 1967 "Auschwitz" borders. And he publicly acknowledged that Israel is surrounded by nations that have repeatedly waged wars against it.

What happened? Did Obama discover some new information on the threats Israel is facing that he did not know before? Of course not! What happened was the unmistakable evidence that voters who care about maintaining a strong Israeli/American alliance are abandoning Obama in droves.

Democrats lost a safe New York House seat they had held for over 80 years, largely over this issue. Groups like Christians United for Israel and the Emergency Committee for Israel, both of which I am proud to be a part of, have increased their grassroots efforts, and Obama's knees buckled as a result. But make no mistake about it: If "O" gets a second term, he will return in a second to his habit of bashing Israel. (Gary Bauer)

Flying Over Earth on the Back of an Angel

At least, that's what this spectacular 60-second time-lapsed video pieced from images from the International Space Station looks like!

Founding Editor's note: When I was a summer camp counselor and barely older than a teen, I walked by a transformer just as lightning hit it and it nearly scared me to death. But who can deny its beauty. I wish the technology would allow us to hear the thunder in this video, awesome! -Steve Shultz, BCN.

Using an estimated 600 free-to-access images on the website, The Gateway to Astronaut Photography of Earth, science teacher James Drake pieced together a video that has become an internet sensation.

Watching it, I felt as though I was sweeping over the face of the earth on the back of an angel. Indeed, it almost felt like visual worship; as though God's creation is so awe-inspiring you can only praise Him as you watch.

Framed by pieces of the International Space Station, the video captures views of North and South America as well as the Pacific Ocean at night. Because it's dark, you can easily spot cities by their tell-tale clusters of lights.

My favorite portions of the video are the lightning-strikes illuminated against bands of thunderstorms. It's a breathless sight, culminating with the sun rising over the globe in the upper left corner of the tape.

Pray!

6. California Couple Fined $300 for Holding Home Bible Studies - Fox News

A southern California family has been fined for holding regular Bible studies at their home because it violates a city zoning code, The Los Angeles Times reported Wednesday.

- Pray that this decision is overruled in a court of law, for the Word of God must be free to be proclaimed in our cities and in our neighborhoods.

The Israeli military is on high alert for potential clashes with settlers as the expected Palestinian declaration of statehood at the U.N. approaches and demonstrations are expected in Palestinian cities and villages throughout the West Bank.

3. Syria, Israel in harsh exchange at UN nuclear meet - Jerusalem Post

Syria accused Israel on Wednesday of posing a threat to the world with its "huge military nuclear arsenal", a day after the Jewish state criticized Damascus for stonewalling a UN watchdog investigation into its atomic activities.

4. Israel mobilizes 22,000 police, thousands of troops, for Palestinian disturbances - Debkafile

Israeli police have mobilized 22,000 officers and border police alongside thousands of soldiers as the country's forces go on the highest level of preparedness ahead of Palestinian prayers and demonstrations Friday, Sept. 23, in support of their application for UN approval of statehood. Beefed up police and troops are preparing for the rallies to turn violent and surge out of the Palestinian towns. They are also deployed at mixed population centers of Jews and Arabs up and down the country to avert clashes and concentrated on the Green Line enclosing the West Bank and the approaches to Jerusalem.

In defiance of Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas' directive for rallies to stay within the limits of Palestinian towns and remain orderly, the PA's Religious Affairs Minister Mahmoud Habbash secretly instructed the imams Thursday to turn up the volume of their loudspeakers at Friday prayers and keep on shouting Allah is Great!

This call coming from Al Aqsa on Temple Mount aims at reaching every Muslim in the West Bank and Israel. Israeli security chiefs are treating this call, characteristic of suicide bombers, as a war cry for stirring up riots.

Truth in Palestinian diplomacy hid to them that are lost

The mainstream media didn't catch it. The diplomats running to and fro didn't catch it either, but what is being reported as the Palestinian's peace offering is in actuality a threat. Haaretz is reporting that the senior negotiator for a Palestinian state, Nabil Shaath, said that "The UN is the only alternative to violence. It will be very costly to us and the Israelis. Our new heroes are Gandhi, Mandela and Martin Luther King." He went on to say that the Palestinian side would give the UN Security Council "some time" to consider its full membership to the UN, a large first step to the terrorist body's statehood bid, seeking to split Israel into two pieces with Jerusalem as its capital.
Shaath said, "We are not seeking to join the mafia or al-Qaeda, we seek membership of the UN. It will give us the right to promote our rights." There is so much said in these very few words. First and foremost, given the past performance of the terrorist groups Hamas, the al Aksa Brigades, Fatah and Hezbollah--all organizations that make up the Palestinian Authority, either publicly or privately--a discerning person must have understanding that Shaath was threatening violence. Shaath said that the UN was the only alternative to violence. From a terrorist perspective this could only mean that if they do not get their way at the UN, there will be more violence.

The threat of violence and violence delivered are the only keys to any Palestinian strategy. While the Palestinian Authority under its President Mahmoud Abbas has been dressed up and cleansed by American and European diplomats, the thugs running behind the scenes are akin to the mafia and al-Qaeda. In fact, it has been recently reported that al-Qaeda and the Muslim Brotherhood have taken stronger roles in the so-called Palestinian Territories. All these entities call for the total destruction of Israel. One only has to look at the map presented by the Palestinian Authority on its UN website to understand. It shows the PA's claim to a Palestine that stretches throughout Israel--Israel is eliminated on this map.

These are days in which the membership of the Palestinian Authority openly vow that Israel should be wiped off the map. Their rhetoric is the most hateful and vitriol of any generation since the Third Reich. Yet, diplomats and politicians seem to want to believe the image picture presented of non-violent leadership rather than the hard cold realities of terrorist destruction. The ramifications of these events are found in the Bible. But as the Apostle Paul writes in 2 Corinthians 4:3, 4, "But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them."

Israel Matters

With Democrats still recovering from a stunning special election loss in New York, and as world leaders gather at the United Nations this week to vote on a future Palestinian state, a new poll confirms that Israel's fate is an important issue to many voters. According to a poll conducted for The Hill, 62% of likely voters said that Obama's policy toward Israel was important to determining their vote. Interestingly, 75% of Republicans said Israel was "very or somewhat important" to their vote, while just 51% of Democrats felt the same way.

How do voters view Obama's position toward Israel? Twenty percent felt Obama was "too supportive" of Israel, but nearly twice as many felt he was "not supportive enough," including 50% of independents. Twenty-three percent of voters labeled Obama "pro-Israel," while 29% said he was "anti-Israel." Thirty-eight percent labeled Obama "neither pro nor anti" Israel. So it seems that two-thirds of voters don't see [Hussein] Obama as a strong supporter of our most reliable ally in the Middle East.

Israel is the tip of the spear in the war against radical Islam. It was fighting the jihadists long before 9/11, and our countries are joined together by shared values. When America was attacked on 9/11, there was rejoicing in the Palestinian streets of Gaza and the West Bank. Israel lowered its flag and Israelis cried with us.

While the world debates carving up the tiny Jewish nation in order to create another Muslim terrorist-supporting state in the Middle East, America, for our own national security, must stand unequivocally with Israel! (Gary Bauer)

Report Documents Hamas Resurgence in West Bank

Report Released Last Friday . . .

Israeli security forces have broken up 13 Hamas terrorist cells in the West Bank since May, according to a report released this week by the Meir Amit Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center. The cells were in various stages of preparing for terrorist attacks and operated mostly in the cities of Hebron and Jerusalem. As a result of the exposures, dozens of Hamas operatives have been detained. Israeli security officials arrested dozens of people just last week in connection with the murder of a British tourist and with an attempted suicide bombing.

"Interrogation of the detainees showed that their main objective was to kidnap Israeli citizens for bargaining," the report said. "Also planned were mass murder terrorist attacks, one of which was actually carried out [in March 2011] Other operations planned by the cells were thwarted and the operatives were detained."

Interrogation of the detainees also showed that the cells were directed and logistically supported by Hamas headquarters in Syria and the Gaza Strip. Saudi Arabia was the location for recruitment meetings and instructions from Hamas members there were transferred to operatives in Hebron.
"The exposure of these terrorist cells shows that Hamas headquarters are engaged in intensive efforts to rebuild the movement's military infrastructure in Judea and Samaria [the West Bank] for the purpose of launching terrorist attacks against Israel," according to the report.

In a speech Friday, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas pledged to seek full membership for a Palestinian state next week at the United Nations Security Council. U.S. officials have pledged to veto the move.

"It is possible that the motivation to carry out terrorist attacks has even increased (and may increase still) ahead of the PA's application to the UN," the report adds.

EW Leads Protest of Thousands at the United Nations

As world leaders gathered in New York City for the UN General Assembly and the "Durban III Review Conference on Racism" sponsored by the UN, another strategic, international event was taking place only a block away. Eagles' Wings led a coalition of Christians, Jews, and other faiths to recognize the importance of standing with Israel, and participants came from near and far to protest the UN-Sponsored Durban III Conference.

While this conference espouses itself as anti-racist, it sadly is the exact opposite. Its bigoted agenda is to single out the democratic nation of Israel and condemn it as a "racist and apartheid state." Though Durban III was boycotted by nations including the U.S., Canada, Australia, and Israel, it was supported by many others. More than an hour before the rally was to start, hundreds began to fill the Dag Hammarskjold Plaza outside the UN. High school and college students, mothers, businessmen, and grandmothers came to make their voices heard. By 12 noon, more than 2,000 people flooded the plaza - coming from across the U.S. as far away as California, Georgia, and Florida, and from many countries including New Zealand, Holland, Belgium, France, Germany, the UK, Finland, and Israel - all uniting together to stand for Israel.

Robert Stearns led the rally, his voice booming through the plaza, "How dare the Durban Conference, this United Nations sponsored event, supported by American tax dollars, single out the one nation in the Middle East which has the most progressive human rights record of all, and routinely and systematically ignore human rights abuses of other member states?" He went on to proclaim the true record of freedom and human rights enjoyed by all the citizens of Israel, reminding those gathered that "there are decisive moments in history when people of basic decency, common sense, and goodwill have to step outside the comfort zone of their daily routine, and step into the uncomfortable place of speaking truth to [those in] power."

A sea of Israeli flags waved in the cool breeze of the day, peppered with hundreds of signs reading, "Israel We Stand with You" and "Stop the Durban Lies", with the crowd lifting up a cry to those who would try to subvert true justice, by saying, "Not on our watch!"

The crowd cheered as speakers from a broad spectrum of ethnic, religious, and political backgrounds attested to the record of the State of Israel.

. . . Deputy Speaker of the Knesset in Israel, MK Danny Danon was on hand and spoke to the cheering crowd, "I am very honored to be in New York City, in front of the UN with real lovers and supporters of the Jewish people . . . and . . . the state of Israel, and I want to thank you and bless you for coming here today and standing for the people of Israel who are watching what happens at the UN today."

The protest was hosted by a coalition of more than 30 organizations led by Eagles' Wings . . . Robert Stearns closed the rally by leading in the singing of the national anthem of the State of Israel, the "Hatikva" or "the Hope", with the song echoing across the Dag Hammarskjold Plaza outside the UN for all to hear.

We rebuke the winds and storms of the enemy sent against their lives. Save their souls by the blood of Jesus that they be transformed from a life of darkness into a life filled with light and love. When covetousness abounds

Exodus 20:17 is the 10th Commandment, which says, "Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbor's." We see that we are not to desire what is not ours. Exodus 18:21 explains who is to govern, saying, "Moreover thou shalt provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them to be rulers of thousands, and rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens." It is my opinion--stressing that this is my opinion--that covetousness is bad government, as well as sinful personal practice.

America has strayed far from the Founding Fathers' intent of limited government based on what the Constitution calls "enumerated powers." Enumerated powers, I believe, are very similar to the Ten Commandments in that they limit what is acceptable practice. I have had debates with other ministers of the gospel who take issue with my contention that if it is not expressly permitted in the Bible, it is not allowed. The liberal view is if it is not expressly forbidden in the Bible, it is allowed. This debate extends to Constitutional issues as well. A strict constructionist of the Constitution would say that government is limited by the authority given in the document. A liberal would say that if it is not forbidden, it is permissible.

From the position that coveting is bad government, this is one of the worst in history. The health care mandate is a tax increase. Increased government fees are tax increases. Confusing the public on taxing the rich (capital gains vs income tax) is a means of class warfare and promoting tax increases. Policies that cause home ownership foreclosures, higher food and fuel prices, the loss of jobs, record and insurmountable deficits and debt are all covetous practices that are detrimental to the general welfare of the governed. This particular White House has gone out of its way to replace a free market economy with a managed economy, which is coveting every citizen's ability of life, liberty and pursuit of happiness.

Likewise, this government is covetous toward your hard earned money in creating an environment that does not protect the national interest, provide for the common defense or for the general welfare of the people. By spending billions of taxpayer dollars in propping up the Muslim Brotherhood and offshoots of al Qaeda in their efforts to topple governments in Egypt, Libya, Yemen and elsewhere, the White House is undermining the national security of the United States and its allies. Now there are US ground troops in Libya--something the White House promised would not happen. Indeed, another front of war by America is opened. Covetousness abounds to every American citizen's peril.

The gathering today in New York was organized by Eagles' Wings, a Christian organization founded by popular singer, song writer and Evangelist, Robert Stearns.

The following is an excerpt of a report filed today by Earl Cox, President,
ISRAEL ALWAYS.

Speaking to a large gathering of supporters of Israel today outside the United Nations building in New York City, international Christian broadcaster and journalist, Earl Cox, told the audience, "Abu Mazen and the Palestinian Authority are puppets for radical Islam which is committed to the complete destruction of all Jews. Mazen is not only the head of the Palestinian Authority. He is also the head of Fatah which has now joined hands with Hamas; a full-blown terrorist organization operating out of Gaza. It seems the Palestinian leader, who wears a suit and tie instead of the battle fatigues worn by Hamas leaders, is pulling the wool over the eyes of the leaders of the world. Abu Mazen is having his cake and eating it, too. By uniting with Hamas, the Palestinian Authority is now a terrorist organization. The big question is, "Why are the United Nations and other world leaders failing to recognize this? Could it be that they would rather pacify terrorists rather than confront them? Quite obviously the answer is yes."

Cox went on to say, "The Palestinian Authority is nothing but a puppet for radical Islam; and by uniting with Hamas it's nothing more than an attempt by Hamas to put on a legitimate face for the world. . . "It is absurd and unthinkable that leaders of supposedly civilized countries around the globe, to include the leadership of the U.N., would show support for a puppet group of radical Islamic terrorists by even considering granting them claim to real estate belonging to Israel on which to establish a Palestinian state. Such a consideration belittles all civilized nations."

"Abu Mazen, who is also known as Mahmoud Abbas, is a clone of Yasser Arafat. The Palestinian Authority, Fatah, and Hamas are all one and the same. They have made no secret of their goals: first, to dissolve Israel's defensible borders and then to annihilate every Israeli Jew. If the United Nations elects to move in favor of the Palestinian Authority, this will send a clear message to all terrorists that there are no consequences for the mass murder of innocent people. Submitting to terrorist demands only serves to perpetuate terrorism. History has proven that appeasement never works," Cox said. Read more.

Update: U.N. Vote

U.N. vote on Palestinian state appears averted

UNITED NATIONS • An intense effort to deflect the Palestinian bid for statehood at the United Nations appeared to be near fruition, potentially defusing the crisis through a diplomatic maneuver that arguably saves face for all sides.

Diplomats scrambled Tuesday to cobble together a deal that would indefinitely delay debate on the Palestinian proposal at the U.N. Security Council. The proposed delay would keep the Obama administration from needing to veto the request, which it has desperately sought to avoid, and buy time for resumption of stalled Israeli-Palestinian negotiations.

Diplomats say privately that Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas has signed off on the deal, which would keep $600 million a year in U.S. support for the Palestinian Authority and other international support intact.

This scenario, which Western officials have been trying to engineer behind the scenes for weeks, "is now likely," a senior European diplomat said Tuesday.

The White House announced Tuesday night that Obama will meet with Abbas today to discuss the issue. Obama was already scheduled to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu today. Obama has said that he wants the Palestinians to negotiate peace with Israel rather than pursue recognition from the U.N.

Hanan Ashrawi, a Palestinian legislator and ally of Abbas who is in New York for the ongoing U.N. General Assembly session, said Palestinian officials are willing "to accept some delay, of the kind you would have under normal United Nations procedures." But she said that if the U.S. or other countries delay the process to undermine the Palestinians' bid for enhanced international standing, "we have recourse to other action," such as approaching the more pro-Palestinian U.N. When the United Nations begins deliberation on the Palestinian Authority's demand for a unilateral recognition of a Palestinian state in the next few days, it will purposefully ignore the fact that the Gaza half of that proposed state is ruled by a group, Hamas, that has called for the destruction of Israel and a genocide against the Jewish people. This entire event, Daniel Greenfield writes in this searing new pamphlet, reminds us once again that the UN is "a democracy of tyrants" that has long since turned its back on the ideals present at its founding.

In 10 Reasons to Abolish the UN, Greenfield shows why the "world body" has become a theatre of the absurd in which injustice of all kind flourishes. From failing to prevent outbreaks of genocide across the globe, to creating a rancid regimen of double standards that obsessively condemn Israel, while allowing countries such as Syria and Cuba to head its Human Right s Commission, the UN has become part of the problem rather than part of the solution. It is little wonder that at the end of this provocative pamphlet, the author says that he had trouble limiting why the UN should be abolished to a mere 10 reasons.

Messianic Pro-Life Group Saves Israeli Babies

Abortion. When one thinks of the many dangers and threats facing Israel, abortion is not usually on the list. But it should be. Since Israel's rebirth as a nation state 63 years ago, 40,000 Israeli babies have been lost to abortion on average every year. That's well over two million unborn children terminated, more than the number of Jewish children killed in the Nazi Holocaust.

Considering population growth rates over the past six decades, had those two million unborn babies been given a chance at life, there would be an additional 10 million Israelis today. The moral argument against abortion aside, in light of the perceived demographic threat to the Jewish state it is not difficult to see why abortion is such a danger to this tiny nation.

One of the very few organizations working to reverse this trend is Messianic-run Be'ad Chaim (Hebrew for "Pro Life"). Despite the fact that those running Be'ad Chaim are unreserved believers in Yeshua, the organization enjoys a considerable level of cooperation with state authorities, enabling it to help young women with unplanned pregnancies across Israel.

While Be'ad Chaim does actively battle against the phenomenon of "abortion-on-demand" in Israel, dealing with girls in what it calls "crisis pregnancies" calls for a softer approach.

"Our goal is to show women, and men, an alternative to abortion, so that they will choose life," reads Be'ad Chaim's website. "We want them to realize God's promise to His people, Israel, as he says in Deuteronomy 30:19: 'I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessings and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your children may live.'"
