The Daily Brief - Wednesday, May 9, 2012

"I will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever; with my mouth will I make known Your faithfulness to all generations."
(Psalm 89:1)

The Daily Brief

1. Would-be Al Qaeda bomber was CIA informant, officials say - Fox News

The would-be bomber in the airline plot was actually working as a U.S. intelligence informant, but the CIA had Al Qaeda fooled from the start. Last month, U.S. intelligence learned that Al Qaeda's Yemen branch hoped to launch a spectacular attack using a new, nearly undetectable bomb aboard an airliner bound for America, officials say. But the man the terrorists were counting on to carry out the attack was actually working for the CIA and Saudi intelligence, U.S. and Yemeni officials told The Associated Press on Tuesday. It was the latest misfire for Al Qaeda, which has repeatedly come close to detonating a bomb aboard an airliner. For the United State, it was a victory that delivered the bomb intact to U.S. intelligence.

- Lord we praise You for this successful operation, and ask Your divine protection over all who were involved with thwarting this attack. Continue to expose, disrupt and destroy the plans of those who live to harm the innocent, in the power of Jesus' Name! We pray for extra protection for the life of this double-agent, who has now been exposed. In Jesus' Name, amen.

- "Take no part in the worthless deeds of evil and darkness; instead, expose them. It is shameful even to talk about the things that ungodly people do in secret. But their evil intentions will be exposed when the light shines on them," (Ephesians 5: 11-13)

2. Obama 'disappointed' with North Carolina ban on gay marriage - Fox News

Obama's campaign says he's "disappointed" with North Carolina's constitutional amendment banning homo/gay marriage. Obama campaign spokesman Cameron French said in a Tuesday statement that the ban on same-sex unions is "divisive and discriminatory." French says same-sex couples deserve the same rights and legal protections as straight couples.

The real discouraging thing is that the state (NC) where he will be holding his convention, rejected his platform on homosexuality!

- Lord we thank You for the people of North Carolina who overwhelming voted to amend their state constitution, strengthening a state law that already outlawed same-sex unions. Thank You for citizens who are taking a stand for what Your Word declares to be right in Your sight. May many more follow their example, in Jesus' Name, amen.

- "I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world."
(Romans 1:8)

3. GOP foiled as funds flow to Planned Parenthood - Washington Times

Newly empowered Republicans in states across the country are pushing to kill public contracts with Planned Parenthood, only to find their efforts blocked by the Obama administration and federal courts. Every federal district court that has ruled so far has sided with Planned Parenthood. That has helped the administration, which has threatened to cut off states' Medicaid funding if they refuse to work with the organization.

- Dear Lord, we thank You that You have raised up active and vocal support for the defunding of Planned Parenthood! We give You glory, for You are leading the charge on behalf of the 4,000 babies aborted each day in our nation. In Jesus' Name, we ask You to completely bind the efforts of those who seek to grasp taxpayer dollars to pay for abortions. Accomplish a great victory for Truth and Life!

- "Keep yourself far from a false matter; do not kill the innocent and righteous. For I will not justify the wicked." (Exodus 23:7) "lest innocent blood be shed in the midst of your land which the LORD your God is giving you as an inheritance, and thus guilt of bloodshed be upon you." (Deuteronomy 19:10)

4. Egypt Islamist vows global caliphate in Jerusalem - Jerusalem Post

Egypt's Islamists aim to install a global Islamic caliphate with its capital in Jerusalem, a radical Muslim preacher told thousands of Muslim Brotherhood supporters in a clip released Monday. "We can see how the dream of the Islamic caliphate is being realized, God willing, by Dr. Mohamed Mursi," Safwat Higazi told thousands of Brotherhood supporters at a Cairo soccer stadium as Mursi - the movement's presidential candidate - and other Brotherhood officials nodded in agreement. Mursi vowed to pray in Jerusalem. "Yes, Jerusalem is our goal. We shall pray in Jerusalem, or die as martyrs on its threshold." Members of the crowd carried banners emblazoned with slogans related to next week's "Nakba Day," when Palestinians and other Arabs mourn Israel's creation in 1948.

- Lord God, we worship You as the God of gods, and pray in the Name of Jesus asking that You bind the efforts of those who hate Jews, are passionate to spill their blood and take their land. We pray for the salvation of these individuals, as You break the back of Islam's principalities. And we pray for the salvation of all Israel.

- "And they blessed Rebekah and said to her: "Our sister, may you become the mother of thousands of ten thousands; And may your descendants possess The gates of those who hate them." (Genesis 24: 60)

5. U.S. Vice President Biden: No options off table on Iran nuclear program - Ha'aretz

U.S. Vice President Joe Biden reaffirmed his commitment to Israel on Tuesday, saying that the U.S. takes "no options off the table" on Iran. The vice president also reiterated his commitment to Israel, saying it is driven by "the overwhelming sense that there is a moral historic obligation to the State of Israel," adding that Israel's security is in the "fundamental national interest of the United States." Biden, who asked for a moment of silence to honor Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's late father Benzion, attempted to leverage his long-term relationship with the Jewish community in order to convince the audience that Obama is pro-Israel.

- Lord God of Truth, we pray that Vice President Biden's words will be the reality of the United States' dealings with Israel, in Jesus' Name.

- "I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed." (Genesis 12: 3)

6. BREAKING -- SPECIAL ALERT

FBI Issues Travelers' Cyber Warning - TG Daily

Recently, there have been instances of travelers' laptops being infected with malicious software while using hotel Internet connections. In these instances, the traveler was attempting to set up the hotel room Internet connection and was presented with a pop-up window notifying the user to update a widely used software product. If the user clicked to accept and install the update, malicious software was installed on the laptop. The pop-up window appeared to be offering a routine update to a legitimate software product for which updates are frequently available.

Although specifically citing overseas hotels, the same type of intrusion can occur anywhere that someone connects to an unknown network.

Recent analysis from the FBI and other government agencies demonstrates that malicious actors are targeting travelers abroad through pop-up windows while they are establishing an Internet connection in their hotel rooms. The FBI recommends that all government, private industry, and academic personnel who travel abroad take extra caution before updating software products through their hotel Internet connection. Checking the author or digital certificate of any prompted update to see if it corresponds to the software vendor may reveal an attempted attack. The FBI also recommends that travelers perform software updates on laptops immediately before traveling, and that they download software updates directly from the software vendor's website if updates are necessary while abroad.
Anyone who believes they have been a target of this type of attack should immediately contact their local FBI office. Read more.

- Intercede that many will learn of this alert from the FBI and take appropriate action to protect their own laptop computers. Offer praise for this agency, that is clearly doing its job.

- "Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven." (Matthew 18:19)

The Middle East in Focus

This week, for all the headlines cited below, please join us in proclaiming THIS DECREE:

Many nations shall come and say, "Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; He will teach us His ways, and we shall walk in His paths." For out of Zion the law shall go forth, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. (Micah 4:2)

1. Netanyahu: Unity government will restore stability - Ynet News

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Tuesday that Israel needs political stability and that a new agreement with Kadima will pave the way for the broadest national unity government in Israel's history.

2. Moody's downgrades Israel's banking outlook
- Jerusalem Post

Moody's international credit rating agency on Wednesday downgraded Israel's banking system outlook to negative from stable. The agency took the step in response to the "projected slowdown in economic growth and the country's challenging operating environment which will continue over the 12-18 month outlook period."

3. Abbas says ready to restart peace process if Netanyahu offers 'anything promising or positive' - Ha'aretz

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said on Tuesday he was ready to engage with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on a Middle East peace agreement if he proposes "anything promising or positive".

The Daily Jot

When the mind of man governs the Word of God (YHVH)

The Apostle Paul writes in 2 Timothy 3:16, "All scripture is given by inspiration of YHVH, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness." But what happens when man gets away from SCRIPTURE and starts putting his own concepts of what YHVH means into his lexicon of beliefs? We then see the beginnings of bad doctrine in the least, growing into heresy, and, sadly, the replacement of what should be the first love of Yeshua for the pridefulness of the human mind. There is a forgetfulness of the right relationship between man and his Creator where the mind of man tries to govern the Word of YHVH.

This is a problem. Everyday, scripture is taken out of context to support man's concept. Often we just see bad teaching upon bad teaching--man's precept upon man's precept--manifest itself into faux facts that cause division, insecurity, hostility and accusations. What of the man who is so self-assured of his knowledge that he takes great pride in attacking another's viewpoint without studying both sides? I think Yeshua had a response to that sort of thing when he said in Matthew 7:4, "Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and behold a beam is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; then shall thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye."

Many people try to advance their own pet doctrine accusing others of not knowing or understanding the scripture. But when one studies it with cross references and context, it is found once again that the mind of man is trying to govern the Word of YHVH. The accuser is usually the one who is actually doing his own accusations. Sometimes, its just prideful ignorance because the accuser just hasn't considered the full context of what he is saying. Acts 17:11 speaks of the Bereans, saying, "These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so." We would do well to be like the Bereans.

When we start putting our own concepts of YHVH over YHVH, we are in great danger. As the word of YHVH explained in Isaiah 55:9, "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts." Verse 11 continues: "So shall my word be that goes forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it." Notice that YHVH says that HIS word will go out; it shall accomplish what HE pleases; and it shall prosper the thing HE wishes. Its not about us and our opinions or speculations. Study the Word! Renew your mind daily in Yeshua. Speak the truth in humble boldness.

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

Today's Legislative Focus: From The Madison Project

www.MadisonProject.com

Fellow conservative patriots,

Congress is back in session until the Memorial Day weekend. There are numerous legislative deadlines crammed in before that recess and both houses will move quickly on several bad pieces of legislation. While the political world begins to focus on the presidential election, we must not lose focus on Congress. In particular, we need to hold Republicans to account for violations of their campaign pledges not to pick winners and losers in the free market.

For Liberty.

The Honorable Jim Ryun
THE MADISONIAN
"The Legislative Bulletin for Conservatives"

FIRST ITEM:

Export-Import Bank

We have a bipartisan alert for you, and that is never a good thing for conservatives.

House Majority Leader Eric Cantor worked behind the backs of conservatives to negotiate a deal with Democrats over the extension of the corporate welfare Export-Import Bank. Not only did Republican leaders agree to reauthorize the bank for another 3 years, they acquiesced to demands that its lending cap be raised. Its current limit is $100 billion per year. Democrats wanted to raise it to $155 billion and Cantor originally proposed a $113 billion limit. They closed on a deal that would gradually raise the cap to $140 billion by 2014.

GOP leaders are so confident that this travesty will pass the Republican House that they plan to fast-track it and bring up the reauthorization bill (H.R. 2072) under suspension this Tuesday. A suspension vote needs a 2/3ds majority to pass (290 votes, instead of 218). The Senate will presumably consider the bill later this week or early next week.
Conservative concerns:

Anti-Free-Market: The entire purpose of this "bank" is to use taxpayer funds to subsidize businesses that sell products to foreign markets. These are businesses that are too weak to obtain loans in the private market and require taxpayer bailout funds to make them competitive. The Heritage Foundation has aptly branded the bank as "the Fannie Mae for exporters."

Transparency: In a preposterous effort aimed at improving transparency, the bill contains a provision that would require the bank to solicit public comment on any transaction more than $100 million. This will ostensibly give companies an opportunity to voice opposition to loans granted to their competitors, while supporting those that benefit their needs. This is what happens when government is used as a tool to manipulate private enterprise.

Entrenchment: Even supporters of reauthorization promised us that it would just be temporary and that the bank would be gradually phased out. As we can see from the details of the bill, the lending power of the bank would actually increase over the years, ensuring that it is never abolished altogether.
Punchline:

We must end corporate welfare, stop picking winners and losers in the marketplace, and discontinue the practice of offering Solyndra style loans at taxpayer expense to businesses that are unworthy of those loans. In an era when we are trying to draw a sharp contrast from Obama's Solyndra economy, it is simply indefensible for Republicans to support the Ex-Im Bank, especially with the proposed expansion of its role. Please call your congressman and request a no vote on H.R. 2072, the Ex-Im Bank reauthorization.

SECOND ITEM:

Appropriations

House Republicans plan to bring up the first of 12 annual appropriations bills later this week, beginning on Tuesday. The first bill will be the Justice-Commerce-Science bill, which funds the Justice and Commerce departments, as well as NASA and some related agencies. While the bill reflects the spending levels set forth in the Ryan budget, there is room to eliminate many more wasteful programs. Leadership has promised an open floor process in which all members can offer amendments. Some of the conservatives will be offering spending cut amendments, and we'll be watching the vote tallies carefully.

THIRD ITEM:

Fracking Regulations

Shale technology coupled with horizontal drilling has created the biggest oil and natural gas boom in recent years. Fracking could become the most auspicious innovation of the past decade. It has already created thousands of jobs, and has the potential to drive down the cost of energy and reinvigorate our economy. Unfortunately, the more successful the private innovation, the more Obama's regulatory regime will ensure it faces inexorable obstacles. Fossil fuel production on federal lands, in general, is at a 9-year low, with most of the shale boom taking place on state and private lands. Now the Feds want to ensure that shale fracking never takes off on federally owned land.

The Department of Interior is set to unveil new fracking regulations that will lock up 1 trillion barrels in oil shale deposits. Under the false pretense of protecting the water table, the DOI will create new guidelines for constructing wells for fracking operations on federal lands.
Conservative concerns:

- Up to 30% of all fracking wells are on federal lands and would be encumbered by these regulations. Moreover, many states, especially those with Democrat-controlled legislatures will be inclined to mimic new federal regulations on state-owned lands, and even private land.

- There is absolutely no evidence that hydraulic fracturing contaminates the water supply. In fact, ubber-leftist Lisa Jackson, the Director of the EPA, has admitted that there is no proof to substantiate the claim promulgated by environmentalist groups.

Punchline: So why is this administrative problem in a legislative briefing? Well, there is a legislative fix to this. House Republicans should take immediate action and pass Louie Gohmert's Fresh Act, H.R. 4322. This bill would explicitly grant states the sole authority to regulate, process, and issue permits for hydraulic fracking, even on federal lands within its boundaries. This is a great preemptive bill that will create jobs and help lower the price of gasoline. Let's prevent the federal government from putting the brakes on this engine of job creation and prosperity. There are currently 24 cosponsors. Ask your members if they plan to sign onto this commonsense legislation.

Atheists Threaten National Day of Prayer Observances

Since the May 3 National Day of Payer, the Alliance Defense Fund (ADF) is responding to legal threats from an atheist group over public observances of the National Day of Prayer protected under the U.S. Constitution and recently re-affirmed by the U.S. Supreme Court.

Those threats have been issued against various cities nationwide concerning events held during last Thursday's National Day of Prayer. ADF attorney Brett Harvey said public officials should be able to recognize public prayer activities, just as the nation's founders did.

"The Freedom From Religion Foundation and other groups like them routinely issue legal threats to cities and towns in their quest to scrub the public square free of any trace of religion," Harvey reports. "The courts have repeatedly disagreed with them because the Constitution requires no such thing. As the U.S. Supreme Court has recently stated, 'The Constitution does not oblige the government to avoid any public acknowledgment of religion's role in society.'"

The ADF has defended the National Day of Prayer, its task force, and former spokesperson Shirley Dobson in a lawsuit filed by the atheist group, which was rejected last year by the Seventh U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.

The legal group is offering free legal advice and possible representation to any local governments facing threats for honoring the prayer event, issuing their own prayer proclamations, or asking citizens to voluntarily pray for their communities and nation.
Though Obama officially recognized May 3 as the 2012 National Day of Prayer, Shirley Dobson of the National Day of Prayer Task Force noted that the White House neglected to send anyone officially to the observance on Capitol Hill. (Contributors: ADF, One News Now - Charlie Butts)

Cyber Threat to U.S. Natural Gas Pipelines

A major cyber attack is currently under way aimed squarely at computer networks belonging to U.S. natural gas pipeline companies, according to alerts issued to the industry by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

At least three confidential "amber" alerts - the second most sensitive next to "red" - were issued by DHS beginning March 29, all warning of a "gas pipeline sector cyber intrusion campaign" against multiple pipeline companies. But the wave of cyber attacks, which apparently began four months ago - and may also affect Canadian natural gas pipeline companies - is continuing.

That fact was reaffirmed late Friday in a public, albeit less detailed, "incident response" report from the industrial Control Systems Cyber Emergency Response Team (ICS-CERT), an arm of DHS based in Idaho Falls, Idaho. It reiterated warnings in the earlier confidential alerts made directly to pipeline companies and some power companies.

The ICS-CERT is charged with helping secure the nation's industrial control systems - computerized systems that open and close valves, switches, and factory processes vital to the chemical, industrial, and power sectors. Their "fly away" teams visit factories, power plants, and pipeline companies to investigate cyber intrusions. (Contributor: Jewish World Review)

- Pray that our national assets like the U.S. and Canadian natural gas pipelines be protected by the sovereign hand of our Lord. Pray for wisdom for those responsible in protecting the networks and data necessary to allow a safe transit of natural gas to its determined destinations.

Surprise in Israel: New Coalition Forms:

A coalition government, with the addition of the Kadima party, was formed overnight.

During the overnight hours a surprising development appeared. We awakened this morning to learn that the Knesset will continue, and that there will be no new elections. A coalition government, with the addition of the Kadima party was formed overnight. Shaul Mofaz, the head of Kadima (and as recently as a week ago appearing to be an arch-enemy of P.M. Netanyahu), is now positioned within Netanyahu's government, and appointed as the Deputy Prime Minister.

A deal was struck that will allow the Netanyahu government to operate without the threat of being overthrown before the regularly scheduled election in October of 2013. The decision shocked many politicians from both the left and from the right sides of the political spectrum. Many people lauded the decision, while those, who have lost power and position as a result of it, condemned it. Surprisingly, Moshe Feiglin, head of the Jewish Leadership Party, and champion for the settlements of Judea and Samaria, is pleased with the move. He believes that having Mofaz in the government will strengthen the position of the settlements; especially when dealing with the Ulpana crisis.

Very likely, bringing Mofaz on board at this time could be very helpful in a future battle with Iran. Mofaz, is an Iranian born Jew, and also a former military leader. Even though he has taken a firm stance against a unilateral, preemptive, attack on Iran by Israel, there is a possibility that his new position in the government will change his evaluation of the situation, as he becomes privy to top secret intelligence.

Will this move of bringing Kadima into the government help bring stability to the government, as well as help deal with major problems? Will it eliminate some of the blackmail and power moves that have held the government hostage from time to time by the opposition or far right? Time will tell if this sudden coalition formation was a wise chess move by the prime minister for the nation. We need to be praying for God's blessing upon the coalition and upon Israel.

From Kathleen in Israel

Prayer Requests for New Coalition Government

-- Pray for the disgruntled politicians to simmer down, and not rise up in rebellious betrayal of this nation and government, by creating division and by giving ammunition to our enemies against us.

-- Pray that YHWH would break up all the divisive factions and cause the Jewish leaders to unite for the sake of the nation, rather than selfishly vie for power, as those being blind to the true needs of the people.

-- Pray that the Lord would us this coalition to strengthen Israel against the manipulation of the western nations of the UN, the Quartet, the EU, the USA, etc.

- Pray that the Lord would bring revelation and wisdom to this coalition, so that Israel would be prepared for any threats, and so that she would prosper in a falling world economy.

3. Liberals Steer Outside Money to Grass-Roots Organizing
- NY Times

After months on the sidelines, major liberal donors including the financier George Soros are preparing to inject up to $100 million into independent groups to aid Democrats' chances this fall. But instead of going head to head with the conservative "super PACs" and outside groups that have flooded the presidential and Congressional campaigns with negative advertising, the donors are focusing on grass-roots organizing, voter registration and Democratic turnout.

- Lord, You are greater and have more power than any money can buy. We still pray for Your intervention in the election and for godly people to be elected - people who know You, who will inquire of You, and be guided by You. Show people who to vote for no matter who has the most money. We pray that those who do the right thing with finances shall not be moved and that they be blessed and placed in office. We ask that corruption in the use of money be exposed and stopped. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

- "He who does not put out his money at usury, nor does he take a bribe aginst the innocent. He who does these things shall not be moved."
(Psalm 15:5)

A US House panel has unveiled a $608 billion defense spending bill that restores some of the programs the Pentagon wanted to cut next year and provides nearly $1 billion for Israel's missile defense systems including the Iron Dome and Magic Wand.

3. Israel warns Hizbollah over Iran - UK Telegraph

Any Hizbollah retaliation to an attack on Iran's nuclear facilities would prompt Israel to launch a war in Lebanon so ferocious that it would take a decade to rebuild the villages it destroys, a senior Israeli military officer has warned.

4. DNA links prove Jews are a 'race,' says genetics expert - Ha'aretz

In his new book, "Legacy: A Genetic History of the Jewish People," Harry Ostrer, a medical geneticist and professor at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York, claims that Jews are different, and the differences are not just skin deep. Jews exhibit, he writes, a distinctive genetic signature. Considering that the Nazis tried to exterminate Jews based on their supposed racial distinctiveness, such a conclusion might be a cause for concern. But Ostrer sees it as central to Jewish identity.

A Word to the wise

Many would agree that the "Church" in the United States is not what is described in the book of Acts. The latter days prophecy of Yeshua in Matthew 24:24 is in full swing: "For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect." False teaching, even heresy, has permeated our society. The out of context Word of YHVH is used to justify many things from abusive government to corporate greed to specific doctrines of churches and ministries. It has come to the point where just quoting the Bible creates a vitriolic reaction--especially among Christians who disagree with how one views that quote.

It is grievous that man has purposed to follow other men in believing how YHVH's word is to be dispensed and interpreted. It is a curious condition of the human soul and spirit that would accept teaching that is in great error rather than seek out what is truth. It is amazing that if a wrong concept is repeated enough times, it becomes as if it is correct and true, even if it is not. Even more, it is perplexing that men will condemn others viewpoints, belligerently attack the personal character of another, call into question one's faith and walk with the Lord, over doctrine and theology that they have never bothered to study themselves, but someone they follow said is true.

There are far too many doctrines, far too many theologies, far too many versions of truth in the "Church" that not all of them can be correct. The proponents of them cause arguments. Friends become estranged. Evil becomes good and good becomes evil. I was once in a conversation with a friend about a certain subject of the Bible. I read to him the exact verse that refuted his errant belief that was taught to him by a false teacher. He told me that I had a right to be wrong and began arguing semantics of various words in the simple verse. When that didn't work, he argued scientific plausibility. When that argument failed, it became a personal attack. We decided it was best not to discuss it anymore.

Study the Bible for yourself. Take the time to understand. If you do, then you will find the truth. And often, that truth will be far from what is being taught. Psalm 146:3 says, "Do not trust a prince or upon a son of man, for there is no salvation in his hand." When you stand before the Lord, it will not be that teacher, preacher, apostle or prophet who saves you. Yeshua warns in Matthew 7:22,23: "Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? And in thy name have cast out devils? And in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." A word to the wise: know the Word.

Sarkozy, who has held the French presidency since 2007, grabbed 48.1 percent, according to the polls.

2. In China, Hillary Gets Tough on North Korea, Syria, and Iran - Yahoo News

When she isn't the subject of an odd "kiss" story with blind Chinese dissidents, Hillary Clinton actually has a real job to do and it means laying down the law for Chinese officials about North Korea, Iran and Syria--which is what she did today in Beijing.

- Father, we intercede for these issues with North Korea, Syria, and Iran. We are facing many problems with these countries, and we ask for Your plan and purpose to come forth. Guard, guide, and protect America on these international controversies.

- Arise, LORD, do not let mortals triumph; let the nations be judged in your presence. Strike them with terror, LORD; let the nations know they are only mortal. (Psalm 9:19-20)

3. Peru examines deaths of more than 500 pelicans
- BBC

The government of Peru has warned people to stay off beaches along large stretches of its coastline as it investigates the mysterious deaths of hundreds of dolphins and seabirds. More than 1,000 birds, mostly pelicans, have washed up dead along the northern Pacific coast in recent weeks, after many dolphins died in the same area. The health ministry stopped short of closing beaches.

- Father, reveal the mystery behind the deaths of these dolphins and sea birds in Peru.

- What is the price of two sparrows--one copper coin? But not a single sparrow can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it. (Matthew 10:29)

4. Gov. Brewer signs Arizona ban on Planned Parenthood funding - Fox News

Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer on Friday signed into law a bill to cut off Planned Parenthood's access to taxpayer money funneled through the state for non-abortion services.

- Father, we thank You for this measure that prevents public money from indirectly funding abortions. We pray peace to the storm that may result in this decision. We pray for other states who have tried to pass similar legislation, and have failed.

- I am strong, and I offer sensible advice and sound judgment. By my power kings govern, and rulers make laws that are fair. Every honest leader rules with help from me. I love everyone who loves me, and I will be found by all who honestly search.
(Proverbs 8: 14-17)

5. U.S. military developing spychips for soldiers - WND

The U.S. military wants to plant nanosensors in soldiers to monitor health on future battlefields and immediately respond to needs, but a privacy expert warns the step is just one more down the road to computer chips for all. "It's never going to happen that the government at gunpoint says, 'You're going to have a tracking chip,'" said Katherine Albrecht, who with Liz McIntyre authored "Spychips," a book that warns of the threat to privacy posed by Radio Frequency Identification.

- Father, we intercede over this nanosensor technology, which could lead to invasion of privacy and be disruptive to other areas of life.

- When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. (John 16:13)

MIDEAST BEAST: a case for an Islamic Antichrist

In Matthew 24:4, the Messiah warns, "Take heed that no man deceive you." He then describe the events that will occur in the end times. Your eschatological belief is important because it impacts your salvation. You also should understand what will happen in the end times so that your faith can remain firm and you can witness to others. With all the false doctrine being taught--from dominionism to the emergent church to name it claim it to apostolic reformation to present truth to Chrislam to social gospel to liberation theology--much of the "Church" is in apostasy. A detailed study of the Bible will rock your world as it reveals the many heretical errors being peddled as truth.

Over the past two years, my wife and I have led a Bible study on the end times. We use only the Bible--just the inerrant and infallible word of YHVH. It is amazing what our little group has learned. So many things that have been taught are clearly either not in the Bible or are just plain fiction of man's imaginations. Of course, many people do not have the time or the inclination to study with great detail. And therein lies the open door for bad teachings to take root. I do not normally recommend books other than the Bible. There is one, however, written by my friend Joel Richardson that deserves your attention because of its scripturally-based clarity regarding the end times.

"MIDEAST BEAST" published by WND books challenges the theory of the European Antichrist and poses a very scripturally justified case for an Islamic Antichrist. I have read the book twice--once in its initial draft and once in the published version. I have vetted the scripture references, their context and the reasoning behind the theory of an Islamic Antichrist. I find Richardson's argument compelling because he employs the scriptures in their context, and compares and contrasts his discovery with justifications for the leading theories of a European Antichrist. Richardson points out with great clarity the misgivings of interpreting a Mideast document, the Bible, from a Western-centric perspective.

In this study, which Richardson has made easy to read, follow and understand, there are some conclusions: 1) the Antichrist will come from current Muslim majority nations, 2) these nations will form a coalition and come against Israel, 3) Yeshua Ha Mashiach will return from heaven to deliver his people, 4) the dead and the living saints will be caught up together, and 5) Yeshua will destroy the Antichrist and establish His kingdom over earth from Jerusalem. If you believe in other theories, take a good hard look at "MIDEAST BEAST." The author, like myself, once believed them too. I arrived at my realization independently of Joel Richardson, but Joel has documented the journey with easy to understand clarity.

The Daily Brief - Friday, May 4, 2012

"Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD. Blessed are the people he has chosen as his own." (Psalm 33:12)

The Daily Brief

1. Congress Revolts On Obama Plan That Would Ban 'Buy American' - Huffington Post.

A trade agreement currently under negotiation contains language that could potentially ban "Buy American" provisions, crimping American manufacturing.

WASHINGTON -- A group of 68 House Democrats and one Republican sent a letter to President Barack Obama on Thursday urging him to reconsider an element of the controversial free trade agreement currently being negotiated by the administration. Although the deal, known as the Trans-Pacific Partnership, has received relatively little media attention in the United States, it is being published world-wide. Obama's plan is to remove "favored nation" status for some countries."We do not believe this approach is in the best interests of U.S. manufacturers and U.S. workers," the letter reads. "Of special concern is the prospect that firms established in TPP countries, such as the many Chinese firms in Vietnam, could obtain waivers from Buy American policies. This could result in large sums of U.S. tax dollars being invested to strengthen other countries' manufacturing sectors, rather than our own."

b.) Obama: April jobs report reflects trend of good news, but 'we've got to do more'
- Fox News

Obama says the economy keeps creating jobs, but with many still out of work, "we've got to do more." The April jobs report out Friday shows a second straight month of sluggish growth, with the economy adding 115,000 jobs, fewer than expected. The April jobs report out Friday shows a second straight month of sluggish growth, with the economy adding 115,000 jobs, fewer than expected. The pace of job growth is down significantly from earlier this year.

c.) Jobless claims post biggest drop in a year
- MSNBC

The Labor Department said Thursday that seasonally-adjusted claims fell 27,000 to 365,000 in the week ended April 28. However, an independent survey on Wednesday showed private employers added only 119,000 jobs last month, the fewest in seven months, and well below economists' expectations for a gain of 177,000 positions.

- Father, these three stories appear to be "at odds" with one another. We thank You that - as we have requested - You have exposed the secret negotiations between Congress and the President concerning this "Trans-Pacific Partnership" that threatens to take away American jobs. We pray that any, and all things done by the government in secret, would be exposed and dealt with accordingly, for the good of the U.S. workers and our economy. We have been asking for months that You would help those without employment to have creative ideas to generate income to feed their families. We ask now that You would give Your discernment and wisdom to Congress - and to our President - to do what is best for our nation's economy and job growth. Amen!

- "Teach me good discernment and knowledge, For I believe in Your commandments." (Psalm 119:66)

2. Methodists uphold policy that calls homosexuality 'incompatible with Christian teaching'
- Washington Post

Despite emotional protests and fierce lobbying from gay rights groups, United Methodists voted on Thursday (May 2) to maintain their denomination's stance that homosexuals acts are "incompatible with Christian teaching."

- Father, we thank You for the courage and integrity of heart of these folks, who have chosen to maintain their beliefs in what You have said in Your Word about this issue. Protect them from any violence or retribution. May they experience Your peace in the midst of the storm. Amen.

-" If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination." (Leviticus 20:13)

3. Al Qaeda Magazine Calls for Firebomb Campaign in US
- ABC News

The men who launched al Qaeda's English-language magazine may have died in a U.S. missile strike last fall, but "Inspire" magazine lives on without them -- and continues to promote jihadi attacks on Western targets, offering detailed advice on how to start huge forest fires in America with timed explosives and how to build remote-controlled bombs.

- Abba, we know we live in dangerous times, and we thank You for Your "watch-care" over us. We bind up fear from our people, and pray that we would all find our refuge and sanity in You. We ask You to thwart the plans of our enemies - expose their plans made in secret - and may they be ensnared by their own traps. We ask that You would reveal Yourself as a God Who loves peace, and Who loves them. Protect us, O Lord.

- "An evil man is ensnared by the transgression of his lips, But the righteous will escape from trouble. A man will be satisfied with good by the fruit of his words, And the deeds of a man's hands will return to him." (Proverbs 12:13,14)

4. Russia threatens to strike NATO missile defense sites - The Telegraph

Russia's top military officer warned Thursday that Moscow would strike NATO missile-defense sites in Eastern Europe before they are ready for action, if the U.S. pushes ahead with deployment. "A decision to use destructive force pre-emptively will be taken if the situation worsens," Russian Chief of General Staff Nikolai Makarov said at an international missile-defense conference in Moscow attended by senior U.S. and NATO officials.

- Lord, we come to You as Lord of Hosts, and ask for wisdom for our leaders, as well as discernment and understanding concerning our enemies. We bind up intimidation and threats against our people. We ask that our leaders would put their trust in You, and move forward in protecting this nation from all would-be aggressors. We thank You for Your protection.

- "A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand, but it shall not come near you. Only a spectator shall you be [yourself inaccessible in the secret place of the Most High] as you witness the reward of the wicked. Because you have made the Lord your refuge, and the Most High your dwelling place, There shall no evil befall you, nor any plague or calamity come near your tent." (Psalm 91:7-10)

A Cairo meeting between Hamas chief Khaled Mashaal and an official of the rival Fatah movement made no headway on the formation of a Palestinian national unity government, an official said on Thursday.

2. Barak: Olmert and former Mossad, Shin Bet chiefs serving Iran - Ha'aretz

3. Iran: Israeli nukes greatest threat to peace
- Ynet News

A senior Iranian official said that Israel's undeclared nuclear weapons pose the greatest threat to Mideast peace and accused the United States and other nuclear powers of hypocritically ignoring their disarmament commitments.

4. Netanyahu the clear favorite heading into Israel's upcoming elections - Ha'aretz

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu can rest easy after reading the results of the latest Haaretz-Dialog poll: Not only does he trounce all his rivals on the question of who is most fit to lead the country, but an absolute majority of Israelis reject the aspersions cast on him last week by former Shin Bet security service chief Yuval Diskin.

Panetta: National Defense threatened by global warming

Just to cite an example of America's spiritual condition-- US Defense Secretary Leon Panetta told the militant left Thursday night that "the area of climate change has a dramatic impact on national security. Rising sea levels, severe droughts, the melting of the polar caps, the more frequent and devastating natural disasters all raise demand for humanitarian assistance and disaster relief." Really? This is just one more example of humanism and dominionism. The American people should demand that this man be removed from his position because he is delusional. Panetta, who is in charge of protecting our lives, families and property, ties national security to humanistic fraud.

Panetta, of course, is pandering to a liberal group to get their campaign support. The Environmental Defense Fund is a leftist group that bullies industry and uses the court system to legislate environmental policy. Panetta, however, has apparently not read the reports about the lies of global warming and its proven bad science. Recently compiled and documented by Examiner Columnist Mona Charen, global warming is a fraud. Charen documented how the UN climate panel admitted that the melting Himalayas were actually not melting, and that drowning polar bears were not drowning. In fact, the entire "science" of global warming has been proven unfounded because scientists made up the data.

Notwithstanding the pandering, it is deeply troubling that a man in as high of a position as Panetta would have a complete misunderstanding of the mission of the Defense Department and the US military. The Preamble to the US Constitution says, "We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America." The military is to provide for the common defense, not be an extension of the Red Cross for humanitarian aid.

Moreover, Panetta's entire approach underscores the ignorance of this Administration regarding the times we live in. Yeshua tells us in Matthew 24:4-7 what the end times will look like: "Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places." Revelation goes into more detail. Our national defense is more threatened by the spiritual condition of the nation, than by global warming. Panetta is just one example.

The Daily Jot!

The Heart of America

The news media is in overdrive and the election year, in reality, has not yet started. But there is an excitement in the air from socialists across the board. They know that come November, America is crossing the precipice from the social contract of the Founding Fathers into the land of the progressive contract on governing people. They have to be excited that the foundational principles of government protecting the rights that can only be granted by the Creator will be put aside for government determining what those rights are and protecting them how it sees fit. You see, both men running for the office of president believe in a higher power, its just not the Creator, or even the nature of the Creator, YHVH.

This historical election could well be the crowning moment for a new American socialism where government and its unyielding power replaces YHVH as the creator of human rights at the center, or heart, of what drives our nation. The pollsters are in overload, giving the daily trend already for a campaign that does not begin in ernest until the nominations are final. But Americans are witnessing the massive news coverage of who is winning today. Don't be fooled. The popularity percentages are not what will determine who is president. It matters very little who is ahead in the polls. The person winning the most electoral votes will capture the presidency.

Christians often debate their role in determining government. Scriptures relating to this include Romans 13:1, "Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God." Daniel 2:21 speaks of YHVH, "And he changes the times and the seasons: he removes kings, and sets up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding." There are many verses to say that YHVH is in control of who is placed in leadership. It is an interesting relationship between YHVH and the people of any nation. For YHVH judges not only the individual people, but also the nations.

Peter and the Apostles certainly had an opinion on whether to subject themselves to the authority of the Sadducees. Acts 5:29: Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men." The general cop out by those not wanting to take action is that YHVH is in control of everything, so we get what we deserve. I do not deny that. The "deserve" part, however, is key. Our Father is one of great benevolence who loves His people. And if His people do the right thing, YHVH is perhaps predisposed to honor their actions as they align with His will. He wants His people to be active, to walk in His ways and to be salt and light. We, in America, are headed into dark times, unless We the People form the hedge and stand in the gap for what is right and acceptable to the LORD. It is a matter of the heart.

1. a.) Obama makes surprise visit to Afghanistan to sign security agreement - Haaretz

U.S. President Barack Obama arrived in Afghanistan on Tuesday to sign an agreement charting future relations with the country, making the secret trip on the first anniversary of the killing of Al Qaida leader Osama bin Laden. ...The U.S.-Afghan Strategic Partnership Agreement will set conditions for a U.S. presence there after a 2014 deadline for the withdrawal of most NATO combat forces.

b.) Taliban Launch Deadly Attack On Kabul Hours After Obama Visit - Huffington Post

The Taliban struck back less than two hours after President Barack Obama left Afghanistan on Wednesday, targeting a foreigners' housing compound with a suicide car bomb and militants disguised as women in an assault that killed at least seven people.

- Father, we pray for a successful plan concerning the withdrawal of troops in the near future. We pray Afghanistan will not be left vulnerable for a civil war within their country. May our motives be pure, and may plans be made to protect the people in this country.

- But you, O God, do see trouble and grief; you consider it to take it in hand. The victim commits himself to you; you are the helper of the fatherless. Break the arm of the wicked and evil man; call him to account for his wickedness that would not be found out. The LORD is King for ever and ever; the nations will perish from his land. You hear, O LORD, the desire of the afflicted; you encourage them, and you listen to their cry, defending the fatherless and the oppressed, in order that man, who is of the earth, may terrify no more. (Psalms 10:14-18)

2. Pentagon is planning 'contingency' for Iran and North Korea
- Washington Times

The U.S. military is discussing significant changes in its war plans to adhere to President Obama's new strategic guidance that downplays preparing for conflicts such as Iraq and Afghanistan, and counts on allies to provide additional troops.

- Father, give wisdom as plans of war are being made. Surround these leaders with many counselors who hear from heaven. Give us favor with our allies to provide additional troops needed in any confrontation.

- He holds victory in store for the upright, he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless, for he guards the course of the just and protects the way of his faithful ones. Then you will understand what is right and just and fair-every good path.
(Proverbs 2.7-9)

3. Eurozone jobless rate hits record high - BBC

Unemployment in the eurozone reached a record high again in March as spending cuts continued to hit the working population. For all 17 nations in the eurozone, the jobless rate rose again to 10.9%, the highest since the euro was formed in 1999, Eurostat said. For the eurozone, 17.4 million are now looking for work and more than 3 million of those are under 25.

- Father, we pray for the 17.4 million who are looking for work in the eurozone. May they turn to You as their provider. Give them creative ideas to generate income for their families. Surround them with favor. In Jesus Name.

- And let our own [people really] learn to apply themselves to good deeds (to honest labor and honorable employment), so that they may be able to meet necessary demands whenever the occasion may require and not be living idle and uncultivated and unfruitful lives. (Titus 3:14)

4. Andrea Mitchell Slips Up, Says "We" Instead Of "White House" Politicizing OBL - Real Clear Politics

Mitchell asks former Senator Tom Daschle (D-SD) what he thinks of Republican criticism that "we" are politicizing the bin Laden killing. Mitchell quickly corrected herself and said it is the White House that is being accused of politicizing the event.

- Father, we are saddened that events - whether Democrat or Republican - are politicized to gain votes and to edify one party over another. Raise up leaders who deny themselves and seek to genuinely help the people of this country, and to solve the critical issues we are facing.

- It teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age. (Titus 2:12)

Turning around a dying nation

In the past week, I have received many emails from readers who want to take action by exercising their civic duty. They want to know from me what I have in mind. Next week, I will reveal a first-step plan of action. Until then, I want to repeat last Thursday's Jot, just in case you didn't get to read it. If you have NOT responded to this and want to be a part of a group of Christians who are going to take the next effective step, please reply with "I'm Game" in the subject line. We will put you on a separate list and include you in our plans.

--blessings, bill

Daily Jot readers are expressing their frustration about the nation: "A few months ago, I heard a youthful friend glibly say, "Well if we lose our freedom, we'll still have Jesus." My stomach curdled at those words as I thought, "You have no idea of what you speak."... "I write the congress people, but they don't care and just send back 'thank you ' letters, etc. So I guess most people feel that they can't do anything. We sign petitions that get passed around. What good do they do? News writes what they want and most people don't even get the true stories. Any suggestions for people?"... "What can I do to make a difference? I have written letters over the years to politicians. Seems to never make a difference...What more can I do?"

First off, we have to recognize the con game. Politicians encourage you to write or fax so that they can get your information and build a list on various issues. That way they can contact you to show you what a good job they are doing on issues of your interest. Organizations use petitions to get your name and email so they can raise money from you. Generally speaking, neither the politicians nor the lobbyists care a thing about what you think, they just want your information for their own purposes. Christian organizations are just as guilty. So beware. Your opinion doesn't matter much, just your money and your information. Having confirmed why writing and signing is not effective, what to do?

Mark 8:34 says, "And Yeshua called the crowds with his disciples, and he said to them, "Whoever is willing to come after me, let him renounce himself and take up his cross and let him come after me." The cross was very offensive because it represented the worst of torture and death reserved for the worst of people. Yeshua was saying that following him will be difficult. Turning a nation back to YHVH is also difficult. The church has become like the world. Christians are apathetic like the Laodiceans. 2 Chronicles 7:14 is overused and underplayed. We are a whole lot about action that takes place from a computer or a chair, but we need to be about Ephesians 6:13, "having done all, to stand." That is much harder.

I believe getting rid of the problem before us is like the example Yeshua gave regarding the demon that could not be driven out, only by prayer and fasting. Pray and fast for our nation. Beyond that we have to take action. So many will say that if you organize and take to the streets, you are being rebellious. I say that if we stand together overcoming evil with good, and we do it publicly in great numbers, we are not in rebellion, but crushing a satanic rebellion that has been allowed far too long. We need to put away this "dominionism" nonsense, and waiting for the rapture, and put our arms and legs and voices in motion in numbers. We need to be men and women of YHVH speaking boldly as we ought to speak. Anyone game?

The Daily Brief - Tuesday, May 1, 2012

"Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD. Blessed are the people he has chosen as his own." (Psalm 33:12)

Please note: This is an abbreviated edition of the Daily Brief.

The Daily Brief

1. Nuclear experts: Fukushima crisis may become 'global catastrophe' - RT

A nuclear watchdog official told RT News that the ongoing crisis at the crippled Fukushima nuclear power plant in Japan could become a "global catastrophe", echoing warnings from other experts.

- Lord, as the nuclear watchdog watches, we as Your people watch and pray that this nuclear global catastrophe would be avoided. We pray wisdom for those working on the Japan power plant problem; give strategies in solving these problems. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

- But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers.
(1 Peter 4:7)

2. U.S. signals major shift on Iran nuclear program - LA Times

In what would be a significant concession, Obama administration officials say they could support allowing Iran to maintain a crucial element of its disputed nuclear program if Tehran took other major steps to curb its ability to develop a nuclear bomb.

- Lord, we continue to pray for the officials to have godly wisdom in decisions concerning Iran. We pray for true leadership and justice concerning this nuclear crisis. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

- Execute true justice, show mercy and compassion. (Zechariah 7:9)

3. Obama Fails to Stem Middle-Class Slide He Blamed on Bush - Bloomberg

Barack Obama campaigned four years ago assailing President George W. Bush for wage losses suffered by the middle class. More than three years into Obama's own presidency, those declines have only deepened.

- Lord, our decline and loss of blessings come in disobedience to You. We repent for the country's rebellion against You. We intercede during this week of National Day of Prayer over our country. May we turn to You as our provider that we may again be blessed by You. We agree with President Lincoln in saying, "May we have a new birth of freedom under God." We pray for our leadership - and our people - for an awakening to the real blame and cause of our decline. In the name of Jesus, our Provider, we pray. Amen.

- Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the Lord your God will set you high above all nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the Lord your God: Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the country.
(Deuteronomy 28:1-2)

4. Officials Watch for Terrorists With Body Bombs on US-Bound Planes - ABC News

With the anniversary of Osama bin Laden's death looming, American and European authorities told ABC News today that they fear al Qaeda may soon try to explode U.S.-bound aircraft with explosives hidden inside the bodies of terrorists.

- Lord, we pray for continued exposure of terrorists and their plans. We pray for mercy and protection of our country. Let the plans of the enemy fail. In the name of Jesus, our Protector, we pray. Amen.

- Blessing are on the head of the righteous, But violence covers the mouth of the wicked.
(Proverbs 10:6)

5. 'Occupy' Promises Shutdown of NY and SF
- CNS News

As part of Occupy Wall Street's call for a nationwide "general strike" May 1, elements within the group are looking to shut down bridges and tunnels in both New York and San Francisco.

- Lord, we lift up the Occupy movement and ask for Your intervention in their plans of disruption. We pray that Your intervention would be a witness to the Occupiers. We pray for a change of heart in these protestors. We pray these rebellious people will know truth and not be deceived. We pray for an awakening to the dangers of the movement. We lift up law enforcement to You, and ask for their protection and wisdom in dealing with situations that arise. We pray for increased intercession by Your people. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen

- For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry.
(1 Samuel 15:23)

Stemming the Islamic massacre of Christians in Africa

My Christian brother William and I have shared a longstanding 20 year friendship, relationship and family bond in Yeshua. William is in Ghana, West Africa, and together we have been doing mission work there. Our ministry is particularly important as well as dangerous these days. Christians in rural West Africa are endangered. Just last weekend, for example, the Boko Haram, an Islamic terrorist group in Nigeria, slaughtered 16 Christians at the University in Kano. The Boko Haram has declared that Western education is forbidden and it has set out to create a Christian-free Nigeria. Christians can leave, convert or die. Same thing with the terrorist Fulani in Ghana, who migrated from Nigeria.
The Christian response in Ghana largely has been an import of Western culture where there is little outreach and much emphasis on tithing and control--all under the auspices of better Christian living. Ministers that I met 20 years ago have caved in to the Western concepts along with the money and fame. Their pictures are on billboards advertising their churches and conferences. They are dressed in expensive suits and are wearing gold watches and jewelry, giving the impression that Christianity means wealth. Meanwhile, their Christian brothers and sisters in the rural areas are being harassed, murdered and enslaved by Islamization. Our ministry is dedicated to answer this direct threat of Islam.

William explains: "Our outreach coordinators operate in hostile environments that call for extra, extra caution regarding how they function. The slightest word out of place or step in the wrong direction may bring about instant death or serious harm to one's body. As such, the rule of thumb is to express abundance love to the Muslims. That works miraculously! To express love is to primarily provide most of them with food, gifts and acceptance of their persons. Unfortunately, the operations of our outreach coordinators are hindered because they themselves are very poor individuals needing help too! Without support from us, there is nothing much that they can do. The situation is simply overwhelming."

I believe that our small efforts are helping stem the tide of Islamic aggression in Ghana. We are seeing progress. We do not want to see in Ghana what is happening regularly to our brothers and sisters in Nigeria. We do not want to see in America what is happening in West Africa. As Romans 12:21 says, "Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good." You do not have to look far to see the impact of Islam. You also do not have to look far to see the impact of Christianity. Anyone thinking that they can work with Islam on issues of common ground will someday be enslaved or killed by Islam. We do not serve the same god. We need to be about our Father's business as if our lives depended on it.
