1. Earth's Surface 'Lurches 11ft to the Right' as New Zealand Earthquake Rips New Fault Line - UK Daily Mail

The earthquake that devastated a city in New Zealand tore open a new 11ft faultine in the Earth's surface. The 7.1-magnitude quake which hit Christchurch, the country's second-largest city, destroyed about 500 buildings and caused an estimated £930million of damage. But hundreds of lives were saved by tough building rules, it was claimed. Only two injuries were reported.

• Heavenly Father, you have been long-suffering with us, but we must never forget that there is a limit to your patience. As we see these signs in our earth coming more frequently, let us have hearts to discern the times and change our wicked ways. Give us repentant hearts, and a sense of urgency for the lost. Give us your heart to work fervently and faithfully to witness to the lost in these times.

• Then He said to His disciples, "The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest." (Matthew 9:37-38)

2. GOP Facing Strong Tea Party Challenge in September Primaries - NewsMax

The primary election season, dominated by the fierce battle between establishment Republicans and insurgent conservatives, is entering its final leg with another rollicking round of intraparty squabbles this month. Although tea party-backed candidates have largely succeeded in toppling rivals endorsed by Beltway insiders so far, the establishment is well poised this month to stage a late-breaking comeback.

• Lord, we pray these elections will result in victory for the candidates who are God-fearing. We pray against this division and negative ads that will be used as fodder by the liberals against the eventual winner of the GOP races. Let the GOP and the Tea Party work together to pick the best candidates for our government. Let only your people win all the elections in November to turn around the liberal onslaught and agenda.

• But brother goes to law against brother, and that before unbelievers! Now therefore, it is already an utter failure for you that you go to law against one another.. No, you yourselves do wrong and cheat, and you do these things to your brethren! (1 Corinthians 6:6-8)

3. Obama to Propose Huge Infrastructure Plan - AFP

Obama unveils plans Monday to spend at least 50 billion dollars to expand and renew US roads, railways and airports, in a fresh bid to fire up sluggish economic growth. It appeared unlikely however that Obama could get the plan passed through Congress before the mid-term elections. Opposition Republicans who slammed Obama's 800 billion dollar stimulus plan as a failure are also likely to hammer the proposed new investment as another example of the government doling out taxpayer dollars to little effect.

The official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the Obama plan would frontload 50 billion dollars of investment to jumpstart job creation.

• Father, we pray for strong, godly, Christian conservatives to have victory in these elections to turn back all the over-spending. Give us righteous leaders in our government, courts, and all businesses that honor you and put you and your laws first.

• Through your wisdom a house is built, And by understanding it is established; By knowledge the rooms are filled With all precious and pleasant riches. (Proverbs 24:3-4)

4. Obama to Call for $100 Billion Business Tax Credit - Washington Post

Under mounting pressure to intensify his focus on the economy ahead of the midterm elections, Obama will call for a $100 billion business tax credit this week, using a speech in Cleveland on Wednesday to launch what administration officials said was a new policy push. The administration is seeking ways both to boost hiring and undercut Republican allegations that Obama is hurting the business climate. Other measures could be introduced in the months ahead, officials have said.

White House officials insist that the new proposals are not a second stimulus package. Deficit spending has emerged as a potent campaign issue, making any new measures other than tax cuts potentially treacherous.

• Lord, let our government officials create laws and bills that will not encumber our posterity but bless them. We pray that businesses will begin to grow successfully and employ people as the new leadership emerges after the November elections.

• The blessing of the Lord makes one rich, And He adds no sorrow with it . . . When the whirlwind passes by, the wicked is no more, But the righteous has an everlasting foundation. (Proverbs 10:22, 25)

5. Backer of NYC Mosque Gave to Hamas-linked Charity - AP

One of the investors in a proposed Islamic center near ground zero is a ... included a donation to a charity later shut down for links to Hamas. Elzanaty's lawyer told a WNYW reporter in a report broadcast Thursday night that his client had no knowledge of the group's involvement with Hamas when he donated the money, and had intended the cash to go to an orphanage. Many other donors to the foundation gave thinking their donations would fund humanitarian programs.

Elzanaty has made no secret of his past philanthropy involving the Palestinians. In a 2002 interview with Newsday, he spoke of a hesitation to donate to Middle Eastern charities because of concerns that it could unwittingly land him in a terror investigation.

• Lord, we pray for those who give donations to acquire the tools and the wisdom to discover if the organization is legitimate. We pray that no one will give to false organizations, and you will block these groups from being able to secure money for the terrorists' activity.

• Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. (1 Corinthians 6:9)

6. Planned Quran-burning Could Endanger Troops, Petraeus Warns - CNN

The Dove World Outreach Center in Gainesville, Florida, plans to mark the anniversary of al Qaeda's September 11, 2001, attacks on New York and Washington by burning copies of the Muslim holy book. The church insists the event is "neither an act of love nor of hate," but a warning against what it calls the threats posed by Islam.

The U.S. commander in Afghanistan on Monday criticized a Florida church's plan to burn copies of the Quran on September 11, warning the demonstration "could cause significant problems" for American troops overseas. "It could endanger troops and it could endanger the overall effort in Afghanistan," Gen. David Petraeus said in a statement issued Monday.

• Heavenly Father, we pray for wisdom and discernment to the leaders of our churches. Let the people be led by the Holy Spirit and not the flesh. Expose Islam for what it truly is to all, and help us lead Muslims out of the Islamic religion and ideas. Turn all from Islam.

• The Lord knows the thoughts of man, that they are futile. Blessed is the man whom You instruct, O Lord, and teach out of Your law, that You may give him rest from the days of adversity, until the pit is dug for the wick. (Psalms 94:11-13)

7. Iran Pays Bounties to Taliban for Dead Americans - Weekly Standard

This isn't the first time we've heard of Iran paying out rewards for dead Americans. When WikiLeaks released tens of thousands of U.S. military documents earlier this year, a number of intelligence reports pointing to collusion between Iran and the Taliban (as well as al Qaeda) came to light. One of the WikiLeaks documents was an ISAF report dated February 19, 2005. The report noted that a group of Taliban commanders consisting of "eight main leaders, all of whom travel into [Afghanistan] to recruit soldiers" was expected to orchestrate attacks against U.S. forces in the Helmand and Uruzgan provinces.

"This Joint Group currently resides in Iran," the document notes, and the "Iranian government has offered each member of the group 100,000 Rupees ($1,740) for any [Afghan] soldier killed and 200,000 Rupees ($3,481) for any [Government of Afghanistan] official." We learn that the going rate is $1,000 per dead American and $6,000 for each American vehicle that is destroyed.

• Lord, we thank you for revealing hidden plans of our enemies. We pray for a super-thick Hedge of Protection to be around the American, Afghan, and Allied forces that are being targeted and killed. Give us the advantage and victory over our enemies.

• Your sandals shall be iron and bronze; like your days, so shall your strength be . . The eternal God is your refuge, And underneath are the everlasting arms; He will thrust out the enemy from before you, And will say, 'Destroy!' (Deuteronomy 33:25, 27)

8. Pak Minister Wants Obama to be Leader of All Muslims - MSN International

A Pakistani minister wants US President Barack Obama to offer Eid prayers at Ground Zero in New York and become the "Amir-ul-Momineen" or Caliph of Muslims.

Minister of State for Industries Ayatullah Durrani, who belongs to the ruling Pakistan People''s Party, said the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr festival, expected to be observed on September 11, would be a "golden opportunity" for Obama to offer Eid prayers and declare himself the leader of all Muslims.

- Father, since all types of Islam do not get along with each other, and many top terrorist leaders have ridiculed President Obama, such an act would incite a horrific war. As we see the clamor of even Arab people for a one world government, we pray that You would stand against any actions that might come before their prophetic, eternal time. We also ask that Barack Obama see these words and repent, rather than receive them into his ego.

- "Those who forsake the law [of God and man] praise the wicked, but such as keep the law [of God and man] contend with them." (Proverbs 28:4 Amplified)

1. Israel gearing up for 'mother of all flotillas' - Jerusalem Post

Israel is preparing for what is being described in the IDF as the "mother of all flotillas," which could include up to 20 different ships planning to set sail for the Gaza Strip in the coming months.

2. Russia, Israel sign military cooperation deal - Ynet News

Russia and Israel signed a framework military cooperation deal on Monday that Russia's defense chief suggested would lead to further purchases of Israeli weapons and technology.

3. Abbas refusing to 'make even one concession' to Israel - ICEJ News

'I will quit talks if they demand compromise on right of return'

Palestinian Authority chairman Mahmoud Abbas continues to harden his positions following the relaunch of direct peace with Israel in Washington last week, insisting on Monday that he would not recognize Israel as a Jewish State nor make 'one concession' in the renewed negotiations.

4. IAEA report warns Iran closing in on nuclear warhead - ICEJ News

Tehran threatens to expel UN inspectors

An alarming new report by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) concludes that Iran has passed a crucial nuclear threshold and could now go on to produce an atomic warhead with relative ease.

The Daily Jot

Treason by any other name, is still treason

On Wednesday, September 1, I sent a Daily Jot entitled, "The Case for Treason at the Highest Levels of Government." This Jot listed from the State Department's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs website some 26 Islamic mosque renovation projects. The projects were in several countries, many of which are egregious human rights violators, persecutors of the Christian faith, and breeding grounds for terrorism. Prior to the Jot's publication, this website was easily accessible with all the projects listed, the country they were in with a full description of the project. Since September 2, after approximately 20 more stories were written, this site page is no longer accessible.

After much retracing of my research and dozens of requests to see it, I found a pre-September 1st url. The listing is located at the following url:

Since this Jot, I have received many emails questioning the accuracy of what I wrote. Some said that the State Department also funds Christian church renovations in countries and they provided me a list of those. The Jot mentioned the uproar that would be caused if the government was funding a local church. All these on the list are overseas. Notwithstanding, to be fair, the State Department does spend some money renovating Christian and Catholic churches in other countries.

Other emails questioned how renovating mosques can be associated with treason. Article III of the US Constitution says, "Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort." In my opinion, every time a mosque is renovated with US taxpayer dollars, it is emboldening, aiding and giving comfort to the enemy, especially in nations like Yemen, Sudan, Algeria, Egypt that house radical Muslims. The so-called war on terror is ambiguous. This war is not against a particular nation, but rather an ideology shared by radicals in nations. Those radicals are Islamic. We are at war with these people. And giving them your tax money helps them.

On July 22, the Washington Times carried an op-ed piece by columnist Jeffrey Kuhner calling for the impeachment of the man who occupies the Oval Office. Kuhner gave many reasons for impeachment, but said refusing to protect US citizens from enemies foreign and domestic by not securing America's borders is treasonous. There is a clear picture developing with this administration. Romans 12:21 says, "Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good." Evil surrounds our unalienable rights endowed by our Creator to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness and hoovers over us with an intent to kill, steal and destroy. This is no time to justify this evil with reasoning. It is time to confront it with the authority of Christ.

First Prayer in Congress

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
September 7, 1774

The Journals of the Continental Congress recorded:

"Wednesday, SEPTEMBER 7, 1774, 9 o'clock a.m.

Agreeable to the resolve of yesterday, the meeting was opened with prayers by the Rev. Mr. Duche'.

Voted, That the thanks of Congress be given to Mr. Duche' . . . . for performing divine Service, and for the excellent prayer, which he composed and delivered on the occasion."

Rev. Jacob Duche' had prayed:

"O God of Wisdom . . . . direct the counsel of this Honorable Assembly . . . that the scene of blood may be speedily closed . . . that Truth and Justice, Religion and Piety, prevail."
John Adams wrote:

"Reverend Duche' . . . read the 35th Psalm . . . After this . . . unexpectedly to every body, struck out into an extemporary prayer, which filled the bosom of every man present.

I must confess, I never heard a better prayer."

The Library of Congress printed on an historical placard of Carpenter's Hall, Philadelphia:

"Washington was kneeling there with Henry, Randolph, Rutledge, Lee, and Jay, and by their side there stood, bowed in reverence the Puritan Patriots of New England . . .

On 9/11 -- CRY OUT, AMERICA!

Cry Out America has invited Christian believers in every county in the United States to unite in publicly crying out to God for a new Christ Awakening on 9-11. During the last two years, thousands of believers have joined in hundreds of county gatherings in every state to voice our corporate and personal desperation for God's intervention. This year we are once again calling for believers across America to gather at their county courthouse beginning at 12:00 noon on Saturday, September 11, 2010. Decisions affecting our national moral trajectory are taking place weekly in the courtroom. At these places of justice, we will bow before the true Judge of heaven and earth and plead for mercy despite our transgressions. We pray that 9-11 will once again be a day of prophetic communication as we issue a fresh wake up call to the American church and each community involved.

BACKGROUND:

September 11, 2001 was a predictive statement about the 21st Century. The terrorist attacks of that day sent a clear signal of what was to come during the first decade of this new millennium. I personally believe that 9-11 was an allowed, prophetic sign. In one day, Americans witnessed a homeland invasion and horrific devastation. The country was brought to a standstill. Americans experienced a sense of vulnerability unlike anything they had ever known. No longer were terrorist attacks just on distant shores. America was now susceptible. Even the Pentagon was vulnerable. The two largest buildings in America's most powerful city collapsed and thousands of people were killed. Islam had penetrated America's spiritual psyche and fear engulfed a nation.

In many ways, the last nine years have been a continuation of what happened spiritually on 9-11. The new reality of terrorism and of its vulnerability plunged America into war in Iraq and Afghanistan in order to "defeat the terrorists where they live." The attack and the collapse of the World Trade Center towers ignited the demise of other, once sound, American structures and infrastructures. From banking to housing to the stock market, the 21st Century has proven clearly that those things thought dependable and unshakable can implode.

Islam's advancement in America since 9-11 has been a unique phenomenon. Instead of Americans understanding the philosophy behind the Jihadist attacks and becoming more resistant than ever to Islam, many Americans have thrown the doors open to this encroaching religion. Islam has grown rapidly in America since 9-11 and immigration from Islamic nations into the United States has reached all time highs during this decade. America's current President has Islamic leanings and many citizens have seemed more bent on defending Islamic rights in America than the rights of any other religious group. One must wonder how the murder of over 3,000 people on 9-11-01 could make the religious philosophy behind it more desired or acceptable. Yet, that is what has happened.

Craig's List Cleans Up

On Craiglist.com, you can buy and sell just about anything you want. And you could, until yesterday, advertise prostitution and other "adult services" which has generated millions of dollars for the company.

After 17 state attorneys general demanded last month that Craigslist end this service, the company finally did so -- only now it has replaced the term "adult services" with the term "censored." Is it really censorship? Pressure to be a good corporate citizen is not censorship. The state attorneys general, as elected representatives of the people to uphold law and order, were right to put the demands on Craiglist.

The "adult services" site had been used for child predation and ads for all manner of sexual activity that was illegal in most states. Sites like this have been fueling sex trafficking which degrades and endangers fellow human beings, many of them children and teenagers.

While Craigslist has not come completely clean (it still offers links for all manner of sexual relationships like "men seeking men" and "casual encounters," for example), this decision by Craiglist is good news for families, children, and women in crisis, here and everywhere Craigslist is available. 1. Hurricane Earl Brushes Carolina Coast; Warnings Issued for Massachusetts - ABC News

Hurricane Earl passed east of North Carolina's Outer Banks this evening, sending bands of wind and rain raking over the North Carolina coast.

- As Hurricane Earl marches north alongside the Eastern seaboard, continue to pray for the safety of all who are in its path, and for strength for the EMT teams that will be mobilized to meet this emergency, offer praise that this storm IS moving towards the northeast, and thank our Lord that He moves the wind and the waves according to His will. Amen!

- "He calms the storms, So that is waves are still. Then they are glad because they are quiet; so He guides them to their desired haven." (Ps. 107: 29, 30)

2. Bernanke Meets Buffett in Role Conceived to Protect Markets - Bloomberg

In November 2009, Senate Banking Committee Chairman Christopher Dodd advanced a radical proposal: to create a super-regulator that would take over most of the bank supervision that had been done by the Federal Reserve System, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. and other agencies.

- Pray that those in authority would be granted from on high as they tackle the complex issue of banking regulations. Pray that each one be motivated by concern for the public good rather than by any personal agenda.

- "But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lust which drown men in temptation and perdition. For the love of money is root of all kinds if evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows." (I Tim. 6: 9, 10)

3. Auto sales: Worst August since 1983 - CNN

The nation's top automakers reported disappointing sales Wednesday, resulting in the worst August for industrywide auto sales in 27 years.

• Wisdom seems to be prevailing among American buyers, for they are learning how to save their money rather than to spend it foolishly. Americans will buy when they think that to do so is safe. There used to be a saying, "What's good for GM is good for the nation." Now the federal government is running GM. Pray for our economy; especially pray for those in federal positions that they understand the relationship between economic prosperity and God's judgment.

- "Understanding is a wellspring of life unto him that hath it; but the instruction of fools is folly." (Proverbs 16:22)

4. Geithner: unemployment could rise - Reuters

Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner said the U.S. unemployment rate could rise for two months before it drops, potentially deepening Democrats' problems in the November congressional elections.

- We do not know where all that stimulus money went, but we do know that the nation's businesses are failing and more and more well-meaning and hard-working Americans are now on the streets. This cannot continue. The words of the Treasury Secretary are true: This turn of events spells imminent change in leadership, at the highest levels of authority, when Americans go to the polls in two months. Pray that our voters will vote with wisdom when they do so. Pray!

- "Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap." (Gal. 6:7)

5. Russian Police Raid Opposition Magazine - ABC News

Armed and masked Russian police raided an opposition magazine, the New Times, on Thursday, pressing journalists to hand over interview recordings used in reports on alleged abuse of authority by the much-feared OMON riot police. The New Times is one of Moscow's few prominent opposition media outlets and has published exposes of high-level corruption.

- As we pray for our own media, let us not forget to pray for the freedom of media in other nations to be able to freely speak the truth - including exposing high-level corruption - and not be cut off.

- "Behold the Lord is my helper; The Lord is with those who upheld my life. He will repay my enemies for their evil, Cut them off in Your truth." ( Ps. 54: 4, 5)

6. Tony Blair: I did not understand Islam at time of 9/11 attacks - UK Telegraph

Mr. Blair says he understood the new war was ideological, but admits that at the time he did not fully understand the history of Islam. He admits he underestimated the "hold of this extremism".

- Father, may all the world be enlightened to the bare truth of what the root of Islam is all about, and through this understanding may all the world turn to the Lord God JEHOVAH. Through the blood of Jesus destroy the power structure of lies and deception that have ensnared so many innocent lives and deliver them totally by the saving knowledge of Jesus. The truth will set them free. In Jesus Name.

- "Who is a liar but he that denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is anti-Christ, that denies the Father (God) and the Son (Jesus.)" (I John 2:2)

7. Amazon at lowest level for 40 years - UK Telegraph

Officials in the Peruvian city of Iquitos said the river level had fallen to 14.4 ft., a point not seen in more than four decades, and was predicted to drop further.

- Is the nation of Peru under judgment? If so, please pray for mercy.

- "Oh Lord, were you displeased with the rivers? Was your anger against the rivers, Was your wrath against the sea, That you rode in your horses, Your chariots of salvation?" (Habakkuk 3:8)

8. Massive solar storm to hit Earth in 2012 with 'force of 100m bombs' - Yahoo News

Peace, Peace when there is no peace

Hurricane Earl is wrecking havoc on the East Coast of the United States. It is no mere coincidence that this is occurring at the very same time the White House is trying to force Israel back into peace talks with terrorists who vow in Arabic to destroy Israel and teach their children to hate Jews, but put suits and ties on for the American public and try to play the victim of warmongering Israelis. Does anyone recall that Katrina hit New Orleans about the same time the Bush Administration was trying to force Israel to give up land for peace? These so-called natural catastrophes occur nearly every time America tries to force Israel into giving up something to the terrorists for peace.

This round of Washington, DC peace talks certainly looks one sided. The Administration has featured discussions with the President of Egypt, the King of Jordan and the loosely elected president-in-name-only of the Palestinians-in-name-only Mahmoud Abbas. The man who occupies the Oval Office appears to believe that by featuring the leaders of Egypt, Jordan, and the Bush Administration's propped up version of moderate terrorist Palestine that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will get the picture that he needs to give up Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria to the Arab terrorists to secure a lasting peace.

Isn't is a strategy of satan himself to use Israel's only modern ally to pressure it into giving up the traditional Biblical lands of the Israelites to those who were prophesied by an angel of the LORD in Genesis whose "hand will be against every man"? Couple this with a truly peace loving people and it becomes a real paradox. I know from my visit to Israel and extensive discussions prior and since with Israelis, that they want peace above all else. They want their children to grow up without the threat of a terrorist killing them because they are Jews. And many in Israel are willing to do most anything to have this peace. They are willing, to an extent, to give up their land, if only the threat of terrorism would subside.

Those who have studied Islam and know the doctrine of this warlord political system masquerading as a religion know that peace is never possible without complete submission. Thus, the Biblical prophecies of the Gog/Magog war, Damascus being destroyed, the anti-christ, Revelation and more. A friend of mine told me that the Holy Spirit gave him a simple prayer that everyone should know. It goes like this: Lord Jesus, may we bless Abba's Holy City Jerusalem, His people Israel, and Abba's Holy Mountain, Mt Zion. This is not unlike Psalm 122:6, "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee." Do we need a reminder of a hurricane or the discernment of evil to exhort us to do the will of God?

A New Stimulus?

With the elections just two months away, the White House and congressional Democrats are in panic mode over the economy. Late last night, the Washington Post ran a story with this line, "Administration officials have struggled to develop new economic policies and an effective message to blunt expected Republican gains in Congress and defuse complaints from Democrats that Obama is fumbling the issue most important to voters."

Today's economic figures suggest their concern are justified - fewer than 70,000 private sector jobs were created last month, while 120,000 temporary census jobs were lost. That rate of growth won't lower unemployment. In fact, the unemployment rate ticked up to 9.6%, approaching the politically toxic level of 10%.

This morning, Obama delayed planned remarks on the economy and emerged later only to give his usual comments blaming past policies for the problems we're experiencing today. What exactly does Obama intend to do about it?

Washington is rife with rumors that a new round of stimulus spending may be in the works. But to the surprise of many, the White House was quick to deny that more stimulus was on the way. Instead, what may emerge is a package of tax cuts aimed at small businesses to spur job creation.
We've been hearing reports from all over the country that the closer we get to the elections, more and more Democrats are trying to run away from Obama and their liberal tax-and-spend records. If this new "stimulus" plan is really focused on tax cuts and not spending, then it seems even Obama is trying to run away from his own record! (Gary Bauer)

Federal Court Rules in Favor of World Vision, Religious Freedoms

The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled 2-1 on Monday, August 23, that World Vision, a faith-based relief organization, was free to hire and terminate based on a statement of faith. The case has been closely watched by religious organizations and nonprofits who receive federal funding.

At issue: Three employees of World Vision were found to have lied during the hiring process about specifics of their faith, and were summarily released. The former employees are expected to appeal the decision.

Although the 1964 Civil Rights Act prohibits religious discrimination, the court ruled that World Vision was exempt from Title VII of the Act for "a religious corporation, association, educational institution, or society with respect to the employment of individuals of a particular religion to perform work connected with the carrying on by such corporation, association, educational institution, or society of its activities."

Steve McFarland, chief legal officer for World Vision, was pleased with the ruling and said it's about deciding who shares in and who best represents the organization's mission.

"What's at stake is the religious freedom of every individual and church and para-church organization and faith-based organization in the country," he said. "Every member of Congress asks and discriminates against job applicants based on their political persuasion. Even Planned Parenthood asks where your politics are with respect to the sanctity of human life. You can call it the bad word 'discrimination,' but it's called 'free association.'"

1. Israelis, Palestinians Resume Direct Talks - CNS News

After a day and evening in White House talks with President Barack Obama, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas sat down together Thursday for the first of what American officials hope will be a series of meetings that lead in a year's time to an agreement on the creation of a Palestinian state.

- The White House has now announced that these talks will be ongoing, every two weeks, in the Middle East, beginning two weeks from now. Pray for the security of the nation of Israel, and for an undivided Jerusalem. Pray!

- "Those who bless you I will bless . . ." (Gen. 12:3)

2. North Carolina Residents Evacuate - AP

Earl Barrels Down on East Coast

National Hurricane Center spokesman Dennis Feltgen said Thursday that there is still concern that the "core of the storm" could shift farther west and have a "very significant impact on the immediate coastline."

Forecasters also were trying to figure out whether the storm would stay off the Northeast coast or bring hurricane-force winds to Long Island, the Boston metropolitan area and Cape Cod. "I would not downplay the potential threat to New England," one official told Fox News.

- A hurricane remaining off shore can still cause much land/property damage. Decree that the storm will turn and go far out to sea as hurricanes have done so in the past when God's people prayed. If the Lord has other purposes for this hurricane, then we pray for God's will to be done but to deliver us from evil. Cry out for mercy!

- "Hear my prayer, O Lord, and let my cry come unto Thee. Hide not Thy face from me in the day when I am in trouble; incline Thy ear unto me: in the day when I call answer me speedily." (Psalm 102:1)

3. Obama's economic team considering new stimulus package - Washington Post

With the recovery faltering less than two months before the November congressional elections, President Obama's economic team is considering another big dose of stimulus in the form of tax breaks for businesses -- potentially worth hundreds of billions of dollars, according to two people familiar with the talks. Among the options are a temporary payroll tax holiday and a permanent extension of the research and development tax credit, say people familiar with the talks.

- May these plans be broken into pieces by the Lord, and His provision, peace and prosperity be set into its place.

- "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." (Jer. 29:11)

4. GOP Takes Unprecedented 10-Point Lead on Generic Ballot - Gallup

Republicans lead by 51% to 41% among registered voters in Gallup weekly tracking of 2010 congressional voting preferences. The 10-percentage-point lead is the GOP's largest so far this year and is its largest in Gallup's history of tracking the midterm generic ballot for Congress.

• Pray for righteousness to be a dominant characteristic of the GOP candidates, for all men are capable of deception. Learn about the character of your local candidates campaigning this fall for the House and Senate, Visit your polling place and speak truth to its election officials, who cannot be manipulated nor bribed to change the outcomes of the voting.

5. Christians dine with Muslims in a show of interfaith support - Orlando Sentinel

Together, the Christians and the Moslems walked at dusk from the Islamic school to the Islamic Center of Orlando. Together, they ate figs and chickpeas and fruit salad to end the fasting of Ramadan. Together, they lined up in rows inside the mosque and prayed. "This is what we should see all over the nation," said Raza Ali, 62, a member of the mosque. "We have to be together. We should fight together those who go to the extremes." The interfaith gathering Monday night of Christians and Moslems, along with some Jewish friends of the mosque, was a show of support, unity and faith at a time when the nation seems drawn to polarizing extremes over religion and terrorism.

- Pray for those Christians and Jews in Orlando who are deceived in thinking that interfaith events are a show of friendship, for they do not realize that God is holy and does not allow "strange fire" at His altar. These deceived ones need to be praying for the Moslems to encounter Jesus Christ rather than praying with the Moslems! True friendship must show Moslems the way to God and salvation. That is true caring!

- "And there went out the fire ["strange fire"] from the Lord and devoured them [Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron] and they died before the Lord. " (Leviticus 10: 2)

The military wing of Palestinian terrorist group Hamas claimed responsibility for Wednesday night's drive-by shooting near Rimonim Junction in the West Bank that left two Israelis wounded, Israel Radio reported Thursday.

2. Netanyahu tells Abbas: I came to Washington to reach historic compromise with Palestinians - Ha'aretz

Addressing PA President Mahmoud Abbas at a White House dinner last night, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he had come to the Washington peace summit that began yesterday "to figure out a historic compromise" with the Palestinians.

3. Barak to Haaretz: Israel ready to cede parts of Jerusalem in peace deal - Ha'aretz

Ehud Barak has always vacillated between peace and security, dovishness and hawkishness, left wing and right wing. Even when he left south Lebanon, offered the Golan Heights to Hafez Assad and the Temple Mount to Yasser Arafat, he didn't do this as a bleeding heart. He always spoke forcefully, talked about the importance of sobriety. He always spoke about how Israel must survive in a jungle. It must do so even now, on the eve of the peace summit in Washington.

4. Obama: 'Senseless slaughter' in West Bank won't stop peace talks - Ha'aretz

Obama on Wednesday described the fatal shooting of four Israelis in the West Bank as a senseless slaughter that will not stop the U.S. from seeking peace in the Middle East.

5. Mubarak calls for int'l security force in West Bank - Jerusalem Post

Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak suggested that an international peacekeeping force be stationed in the West Bank as a compromise between Israel's security concerns and the Palestinian's desire for a complete Israeli withdrawal from the territory. Mubarak's comments came in an op-ed piece published in Wednesday's New York Times.

Ground Zero Mosque countered with Ground Zero Christian Center

Bill Keller is this on fire-for-the-Lord internet evangelist who founded LivePrayer.com. I have known Bill for about five years and believe him to be a take-no-prisoners, Bible believing, Bible teaching man. He is not one to see a problem and cower away from it, he attacks it. He was criticized years ago for going on Howard Stern. But Bill handled Howard Stern and because of his appearances on Stern's show, literally thousands came to the Lord, recommitted their lives to the Lord and thanked Bill for being so bold as to bring Christ to Stern's airwaves. He has the emails and letters to prove it. Now Bill is off on another mission--to counter the Islamic Center and Mosque to be built near Ground Zero in New York.

Bill says, "How do you battle the darkness? With the LIGHT! I watched in disbelief a few weeks ago as they announced the Muslims would be building a $110 million mosque just a few blocks from where their Muslim brothers perpetrated the greatest act of terror on US soil in history, deliberately flying planes into the World Trade Center towers, knocking them down and killing 3,000 innocent souls in the process. The gall, the arrogance, the audacity of this false religion of violence, hate, and death to build their temple to satan just blocks from that hallowed ground." So Bill decided to do something about it.

Beginning this Sunday, September 5, he will begin having services at the "9-11 Christian Center at Ground Zero." He will be holding services every Sunday at 11 am at the New York Marriott at 85 West Street--one block from ground zero. There will be services 7 days a week and a "9-11 Memorial Prayer Room" for those who visit Ground Zero and want to stop and pray. Bill says, "The mission is simple. Have a place at ground zero where people can come to hear the real uncompromised Truth right from God's Word, and find the only true hope there is, faith in Jesus Christ!!!" He said he is not starting just another church--services will be like the soul winning "old time evangelistic meetings."

The opposition to this new church is tremendous. Bill wrote in his daily email that "every left leaning website has been covering our opening. It is amazing how they all could not wait to support the victory mosque, but have gone after me with a vengeance, calling me every horrible name you could think of in the process." But these attempts to discourage only make Bill Keller more determined. He says, "I have a secret to share with you today. The people in this world are looking for hope." The Apostle Paul wrote in Romans 12:21, "Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good." This is an example of how we as Christians can change the world if we are obedient to the Lord.

Talks Fatally Flawed

As the Middle East peace talks enter a new day, it is worth mentioning that they begin with very low expectations and with good reason: The talks are fatally flawed from the start. Here's why.

Benjamin Netanyahu is representing the Israeli nation. If he makes an agreement or offers concessions, there will be those who agree and those who disagree. But Israelis and the world will recognize that he speaks for the Israeli nation. As the elected leader of Israel, Netanyahu has credibility.

Unfortunately for Prime Minister Netanyahu, his so-called "partner in peace," Mahmoud Abbas, has no such credibility. There is no evidence that Abbas speaks for anyone. He probably could not even win an election in Judea and Samaria. There is no evidence that he speaks for the Gaza half of the Palestinian state, or that he could deliver on any commitments he makes at the White House.
Here's proof. Yesterday, Mahmoud Zahar, the leader of Hamas (which controls Gaza - half of the future Palestinian state), condemned the peace talks and said, "Today marks the start of direct negotiations between someone who has no right to represent the Palestinian people and the brutal occupier, to provide a cover for Judaizing Jerusalem and stealing the land." Zahar also reiterated that Hamas' only goal is "liberating" all land between the Jordan River and the Mediterrean Sea, meaning the destruction of the state of Israel.

In what universe do these talks make sense? If the guy making concessions for the Palestinians can't deliver, why would Israel want to give up anything for empty promises?

Yesterday I wrote about the brutal shootings of four Israelis. I noticed that in virtually every news report, the four Israelis were described as "Hebron settlers." In its own way, this description debases them by suggesting that they shouldn't have been there in first place, even though Jews have lived in Hebron for a very long time. Unfortunately, the history of Jews and Muslims living side-by-side in peace in Hebron has a checkered past. In August 1929, Arabs rioted for three days, ransacking Jewish homes and killing nearly 70 Jews. (Gary Bauer)

Fire Destroys Anti-Israel Turkish Film

The virulently anti-Israel Turkish TV show "Ambush in the Valley of the Wolves" spinoff movie "The Valley of the Wolves: Palestine" hit a snag this week when a fire destroyed many of the film's negatives. The incident was reported by the Hebrew-language daily Maariv.

Improper use of chemicals caused a blaze that demolished negatives from at least two days of filming, including shots of scenes in which thousands of extras took part, and action scenes.

The movie's directors refused to confirm or deny the reports of damage.

The "Valley of the Wolves" TV show included violent anti-Israel images, including scenes depicting Israeli intelligence agents kidnapping babies and taking civilians hostage. It caused a diplomatic crisis between Israel and Turkey last January. (IsraelNationalNews.com) Read more.

1. NC vacation island to be cleared as Earl nears - AP

Tourists on a North Carolina vacation destination island were ordered to board the ferries and head for the mainland Wednesday and more evacuations could be on the way as powerful Hurricane Earl threatened to sideswipe the East Coast.

- Father God, we pray Your hand holds back the force of this hurricane as the people cry out to the Lord God in repentance. There will no evil happen when the people repent of sin. Fulfill Your purpose and send out the message that God is God over all the earth, the seas, the oceans and the waves. Lord stand upon the waves and pour out Your Holy Spirit's conviction upon the people that many souls find Christ as their Savior. Some may not have a second chance. In Jesus Name.

- "Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to Him; for the hour of His judgment is come: and worship Him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters." (Revelation 14:7)

2. Obama: Time To Turn The Page On Iraq - VOA

Obama has announced that the U.S. combat mission in Iraq is over. Obama said Tuesday America's new mission is to advise and assist Iraq's security forces.

- God, we bow before You with this intensely important issue that carries an intensely important hidden message that Iraq is being given back to the terrorist groups on site. Replace the Americans as they leave with the power of the Lord God Jehovah that will hold back the evil forces of terrorism. We cry out for salvation of these 28 million souls and pray God sends a strong movement and manifested presence of the Holy Spirit to take over the land of Iraq and its people. Defeat every enemy of God by the blood of Jesus. In Jesus Name.

3. As Obama declares Iraq war over, Iraqis brace for uncertainty - Washington Post

On the last day of the official U.S. combat mission in Iraq, there was no dancing in the streets, no celebratory gunfire and no sense that a milestone had been reached.

- Father, reveal Yourself to all the people in Iraq with signs and wonders, with dreams and visions, that there be no mistake who is their Savior and deliverer. By the blood of Jesus, break through all evil that would hinder them from hearing the Lord who is dressed in white and drawing them unto Him. In Jesus Name.

- "That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved. For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." (Romans 10:9-10)

The government's list of troubled banks hit its highest level since 1993 during the second quarter, although the pace of growth continued to slow, according to a government report released Tuesday.

- God, the hidden men and women of evil organizations are controlling the world in preparation for the anti-Christ's takeover by striking at the foundation of every monetary system worldwide to crumble under their power. 5. Feds Appeal Order Blocking Stem Cell Research - ABC News

The Obama administration on Tuesday asked a federal judge to lift a restraining order that it says could undercut federally funded embryonic stem cell research.

- Father, may Your hand block stem cell research that involves embryos of innocent babies. The blood of Jesus be against embryonic stem cell research and against those who promote it. In Jesus Name.

- "It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and be cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones." (Luke 17:2)

The case for treason at the highest levels of government

Imagine the uproar if the US government was found to be funding the renovation of your local church, or releasing large amounts of taxpayer money to an umbrella organization of churches for pet projects? The American Civil Liberties Union would jump on that screaming "separation of church and state." The major network news programs would think they had just won broadcast awards for breaking news. Every leftist demagogue in Congress would be demanding an inquiry. There would be cries for a special prosecutor to be appointed to investigate everyone involved. But the truth is, this government, headed by the man who occupies the Oval Office, is using your money to fund Muslim jihadists.

The State Department, for example, has a list of some 26 Islamic mosque renovation projects that are being funded by your tax dollars. These projects, listed on the State Department's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs website, are using tax dollars to rehab mosques in Afghanistan, Bosnia, Pakistan, Bulgaria, Mali, Egypt, Tunisia, Yemen, Tanzania, Algeria, Uganda, even in Sudan where Arab Muslims have killed all the Christians and are now killing the African Muslims. The State Department says its perfectly Constitutional because its to preserve culture, not religion. The Daily Caller writes that the US Agency for International Development has also spent millions on mosques in Egypt and Cyprus.

But that's not all. Christine Brim of the Center for Security Policy broke the story that the Department of Agriculture was to meet with 25-30 Muslim leaders of the Coordinating Council of Muslim Organizations on August 31. The purpose of the meeting was to show the Muslims how to gain direct access to "funding, government assistance, and resources." This organization has direct ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, a terrorist umbrella waging "Civilization Jihad" on the United States. An extensive search of the news, White House, and USDA websites revealed no trace of the meeting, which was announced through a newsletter email by the Islamic Society of North America, a known terrorist financier.

The White House surely knows that the government is using our tax dollars to fund our enemies. Obama is attempting to hide these actions by conducting them through non traditional venues such as the Department of Agriculture and NASA. This is no less than treason. What's worse is that even though these scoundrels are playing Americans for dupes, the government watchdogs--the free press--won't report it. This makes them accessories to treason. The prophecy of the Apostle Paul in 2 Timothy 3:13 is in play: "But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived." Christ is the answer as He is truth. But if we do not act, is it not salt that has lost its savor?

Prayers for the "Peace Talks"

1. Lord, the noose is tightening around the neck of Israel. We are being told that we must - for the sake of "world peace," - divide our inheritance with a people who refuse to even recognize us as the Jewish State.

- "LORD, it is nothing with You to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power. Help us, O LORD our God; for we rest on You, and in Your name we go against this multitude. O LORD, You are our God; let not man prevail against You." (2 Chr. 14:11)

2. We do thank You that according to King David in this Psalm, You are on Israel's side - as we say so!

- "If it had not been LORD who was on our side, now may Israel say . . . when men rose up against us: then they had swallowed us up quick . . . Then the waters had overwhelmed us . . . Then the proud waters had gone over our soul. Blessed be LORD, who has not given us as a prey to their teeth. Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped. Our help is in the name of LORD, who made heaven and earth." (Psalms 124:1-8)

3. Break this snare that the nations are setting for Israel's negotiators - especially our Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu.

4. Help Bibi to trust and look to You more than to trust and look to the nations - especially America with its current administration.

- "Then Asa called to the LORD his God, and said, ' LORD, there is no one besides You to help in the battle between the powerful and those who have no strength; so help us; O LORD our GOD, for we trust in YOU, and in YOUR NAME have come against this multitude. O LORD, YOU ARE OUR GOD; let not man prevail against YOU." (2Chron 14:11)

5. We ask for a strong anointing on Bibi and his negotiating team to not be manipulated or deceived by anything that happens in these talks.

- "For there is no sorcery against Jacob, Nor any divination against Israel. It now must be said of Jacob And of Israel, 'Oh, what God has done!'" (Numbers 23:23)

6. Instead, give Netanyahu supernatural clarity and insight to avoid all of the snares that will be set before him.


7. Continue to harden the already hard hearts of the PA leadership. Let Obama and his team see that they are being unreasonable and not willing to compromise one iota.

8. Wake up the believers in America to the grave danger their current political leadership is leading them into and encourage them to stand in the gap for their nation and its relationship to Your nation Israel.

- "I sought for a man . . . that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before Me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none. Therefore . . .have consumed them with the fire of My wrath . . . " (Ezek. 22:30-31b)

More Israeli Orphans

The White House is gearing up for a big day tomorrow as President Obama prepares to "jump start" Israeli-Palestinian peace talks. The goal of the talks is the creation of a Palestinian state that, as we are endlessly told, will "live side-by-side with Israel in peace and security." Sounds good, but if history is any guide, it isn't likely to happen.

The brutal murders yesterday of four Israeli civilians near Hebron by Hamas jihadists demonstrate why countless peace talks have not produced Middle East peace or security. Many Palestinians don't want either.

The four murdered Israelis included a couple with six children and a pregnant woman. There is evidence that the Hamas attackers videotaped the blood-soaked bodies of the victims, no doubt to use as a recruiting tool among the seething masses of Jew-haters who dream not of the creation of a Palestinian state, but the destruction of a Jewish state.

Hamas issued a statement referring to the attack on four civilians as a "heroic operation in Hebron." Several thousand cheering fanatics poured into the streets of the Hamas-ruled Gaza strip in a scene reminiscent of previous celebrations of terror attacks in Israel and on 9/11.

Jews living in Judea and Samaria mourned last night and then announced their response to Hamas' brutality: they would resume building homes for their families. A council of families in the region said, "They shoot and we build. Each does as he believes." That is a great summary of why peace is so elusive. Israelis have built a nation based on democratic values. The Palestinians have nurtured and promoted hate.

The next time you hear someone describe the proposed Palestinian state, ask him what kind of state it will be. The evidence is overwhelming that it will be "Hamastan" - dedicated to the death of Israelis and aligned with Iran, Syria and others in the ongoing war against the West. (Gary Bauer)

American Academy of Pediatrics Rejects Abstinence, Tells Members to Promote 'Safe-Sex'

Days after the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services bowed to public pressure and posted a the results of favorable abstinence survey, the American Academy of Pediatrics released a policy statement Tuesday, stating it was "unwise" to promote abstinence-only education.

In its policy statement, "Sexuality, Contraception and the Media," AAP's Council on Communications and Media, indicated: "It is unwise to promote 'abstinence-only' sex education when it has been shown to be ineffective and when the media have become such an important source of information about 'non-abstinence.'"

Chad Hills, CitizenLink's sexual health and abstinence analyst, said there are positive and negative aspects of the policy statement. "Although it's commendable that the AAP policy is least recognizing – and addressing – the media's promotion of casual sex outside of marriage to teens," Hills said, "they failed to recognize the importance of parents, educators and the media in upholding a higher expected sexual standard –namely keeping sexuality within the context of marriage."

Melissa Henson, director of communications and public education at Parents Television Council, said, sex and marriage is portrayed in the media as something painful and that you have to do out of obligation. "Sexual relationships that are adulterous or that take place outside of the context of marriage are always presented in a favorable light," Henson said. "The only kind of sexual relationships that really aren't addressed on television are sexual relationships within the context of a loving and committed marriage."

Even shows that attempt to show the realities of teen sexual activity are problematic. "I have yet to see a TV show that handled these messages in a responsible way to begin with," Henson added. "It is important for parents to make it clear to their kids that there are real-world consequences that they need to be prepared to deal with." (CitizenLink)

1. Obama Marks End of U.S. Combat Mission in Iraq -Fox News

Obama praised the Honorable President Bush's commitment to U.S. troops Tuesday as he announced a close to combat operations in Iraq that he said cost America a "huge price."

Speaking from the same desk where President Bush launched the war, Obama cast the end of Operation Iraqi Freedom -- demonstrated by the departure of 95,000 U.S. combat troops to a remaining force below 50,000 -- as an opportunity for America to "turn the page," both on American involvement in Iraq and American priorities at home, where the economy is still struggling to regain its footing. - Pray for the safety of the remaining 50,000 American troops in Iraq, who will work with the new, sovereign nation to maintain its stability. Take a moment tonight and offer a prayer for the Americans who have lost loved ones in this mission; and say a word of thanks for those who have served so faithfully in this very difficult arena.

2. Earl, a Category 4 Hurricane, on Course Toward US East Coast after Battering Caribbean - ABC News

Hurricane Earl, now a powerful Category 4 storm, barreled toward the U.S. coast early Tuesday after battering tiny islands across the northeastern Caribbean with heavy rain and winds that damaged homes and toppled power lines.

"Any small shift in the track could dramatically alter whether it makes landfall or whether it remains over the open ocean," said Wallace Hogsett, a meteorologist at the centre. "I can't urge enough to just stay tuned."

• Father, we thank You that You are the Lord of the wind and the waves; and we ask You to direct the path of this hurricane according to Your perfect will. We ask protection for all who may be found in the storm's path, and we thank You that You are a God who hears and who answers prayer. Amen!

3. Two Men on United Flight from Chicago Arrested on 'Preparation of a Terrorist Attack' in Amsterdam - ABC

Two men taken off a Chicago-to-Amsterdam United Airlines flight in the Netherlands have been charged by Dutch police with "preparation of a terrorist attack," U.S. law enforcement officials tell ABC News. U.S. officials said the two appeared to be travelling with what were termed "mock bombs" in their luggage. "This was almost certainly a dry run, a test," said one senior law enforcement official.

In addition, officials said, al Soofi was found to be carrying $7,000 in cash and a check of his luggage found a cell phone taped to a Pepto-Bismol bottle, three cell phones taped together, several watches taped together, a box cutter and three large knives. Officials said there was no indication of explosives and he and his luggage were cleared for the flight from Birmingham to Chicago O'Hare.

4. Mexico Says Drug Lord 'the Barbie' Captured - Yahoo News

Federal police on Monday captured a long-sought, alleged Texas-born gang kingpin who faces drug trafficking charges in the U.S. and has been blamed for a vicious turf war that has included bodies hung from bridges and shootouts in central Mexico. U.S. prosecutors say they used a federal wiretap of a related case in Atlanta in January 2008 to identify Valdez as the source of thousands of kilograms of cocaine that were imported into the U.S. from 2004 to 2006.

Witnesses said some truckloads traveling from Laredo to Atlanta carried more than 650 pounds of cocaine. The workers made shipments of money, often containing several million dollars in cash, back to Mexico in tractor-trailer trucks, according to the court records. Poire said Valdez directed a criminal enterprise that spanned four states, and included extortion and money laundering as well as drug smuggling.

5. Tea Party Group That Assisted Miller Now Helping O'Donnell - CNN

A leading Tea Party organization that supported Republican Senate nominees Sharron Angle of Nevada and Mike Lee of Utah, and which gave a big boost to Senate candidate Joe Miller of Alaska, says it's coming to the aid of Christine O'Donnell of Delaware.

Tea Party Express is one of the most recognized national Tea Party organizations thanks to its three high-profile bus caravans and rallies. The Tea Party Express has also become a major player in Republican politics, spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on ads for Republican Senate candidate Scott Brown in Massachusetts, who in January upset Democrat Martha Coakley in a special election to fill the late Sen. Ted Kennedy's seat.

• Lord, we pray many conservative candidates will be elected to office. We pray they will remain true to strong, Christian, conservative values and they will quickly reverse the damage that has been done by this last group of officials.

6. Predator Drones Set to Watch Mexico Border - Reuters

The U.S. government will have unmanned surveillance aircraft monitoring the whole southwest border with Mexico starting Wednesday, as it ramps up border security in this election year. "With the deployment of the Predator in Texas, we will now be able to cover the southwest border from the El Centro sector in California all the way to the Gulf of Mexico in Texas, providing critical aerial surveillance assistance to personnel on the ground," Napolitano said during a conference call.

• Lord, we thank you our government is starting to protect our borders from everyone entering this nation illegally - especially terrorists. We pray that these new strategies and drones will never be used against our citizens.

7. Poll: 57% of Americans Oppose Tax Funding of Embryonic Stem Cell Research - LifeNews

On the week in which a federal judge ruled that President Barack Obama's executive order forcing Americans to pay for embryonic stem cell research with taxpayer funds violates a federal law, a new poll shows a majority of Americans opposed tax-funding the controversial and unproven research. Seventy-eight percent (78%) of Republicans and 62% of voters not affiliated with either major party oppose taxpayer funding of embryonic stem cell research. Fifty-five percent of Democrats do back forcing taxpayers to fund the destructive research.

8. TOMORROW: White House to Host Seminar for Muslim Brotherhood organizations - Big Peace

Topic: Providing "funding, government assistance and resources." to Islamic groups

On August 31, this coming Tuesday, the Muslim Brotherhood-associated "Coordinating Council of Muslim Organizations" (CCMO) will bring 25-30 Muslim leaders of 20 national Muslim groups to attend a special workshop presented by the White House and U.S. Government agencies (Agriculture, Education, Homeland Security, Health and Human Services etc.) to provide the groups "funding, government assistance and resources." The workshop will apparently provide special access for these Muslim Brotherhood organizations: the organizers pledge to provide "direct access" and "cut through red tape." Government and Muslim groups will hold an Iftar dinner (breaking the fast of Ramadan) after the workshop. Read more.

- Pray that, when Congress returns next week, there will be a hearing about how and where our taxpayer-funded stimulus money is being used with "faith-based" groups. Pray that Congress will help this White House to become accountable for its actions, in all respects. Pray!

9. U.S.: Rabbi's 'Offensive' Remarks Harm Peace Efforts - Ha'aretz

The United States on Sunday condemned remarks by the spiritual leader of Israel's leading ultra-Orthodox party, Rabbi Ovadia Yosef, who said the Palestinians should "perish". The 89-year-old is a respected religious scholar but is also known for vitriolic comments about Arabs, secular Jews, liberals, women and gays, among others.

"Particularly on the eve of renewed peace talks, and on the eve of the Jewish New Year, one would have hoped that Rav Yosef could have inspired his students and followers with a message of hope, humility, repentance and forgiveness," said a statement from ADL chief Abraham Foxman.

New Microbe Discovered Eating Gulf Oil Spill

WASHINGTON -- A newly discovered type of oil-eating microbe is suddenly flourishing in the Gulf of Mexico.

Scientists discovered the new microbe while studying the underwater dispersion of millions of gallons of oil spilled into the Gulf following the explosion of BP's Deepwater Horizon drilling rig.
