1. Obama nuke treaty has a tough path ahead in Senate - Washington Examiner

Now that President Obama and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev have signed the nuclear disarmament treaty, the Senate must approve it with a supermajority vote, but it's not clear that can happen this year as the Obama administration hopes.

- Pray that the words in this treaty be interpreted line by line and precept by precept. Let the Truth prevail.

- "For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept, Line upon line, line upon line " (Is. 28.10)

2. After Treaty, U.S. Confronts Threat of Terrorists Acquiring Nuke Materials - Fox News

As Obama and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev basked in the glow of their newly signed landmark treaty that commits their nations to slashing their nuclear arsenals, looming large over Thursday's celebration in Prague was the challenge of stopping the threat of nuclear materials from disarmament falling into the hands of terror groups like Al Qaeda or rogue states like Iran that don't respect any treaties.

- Let us not look away from the wiles of the enemy and be deceived with a false peace but instead seek to stand guard at the wall and watch that we would keep Truth forever.

- "The LORD sustains the humble but casts the wicked to the ground." (Psalm 147:6)

3. Netanyahu Cancels Trip to Obama's Nuclear Summit - Fox News

Israel's Prime Minister called off his trip to Washington next week to attend a conference on the spread of nuclear weapons, officials in his office said, fearing Israel would be singled out over its own nuclear program.

- Pray for the protection of Israel's Prime Minister as he continues to stand strong for a nation scoffed by many. We will not allow the words from our mouth to utter anything but blessings upon this nation.

- Blessed is he that blesses thee and cursed is he that curses thee. (Numbers 24:9)

4. Nuclear summit will cause massive gridlock in D.C. - AP

If you think Washington traffic is bad because of the tourists and the cherry blossoms, in just over a week it could get a lot worse. . . Nearly 50 heads of state will be in the nation's capital for the Nuclear Security Summit that's scheduled to take place April 12 and 13. It's expected to be one of the largest gatherings of heads of state in history. President Barack Obama will host the summit, which is designed to "enhance international cooperation to prevent nuclear terrorism," according to the State Department's Web site. The summit is expected to focus on the security of nuclear materials and preventing them from getting into the hands of terrorists.

- Pray for the safety of all citizens who will be in the nation's capital during this Summit. Ask the Lord's angels to go ahead of each one, making crooked paths straight, so that everyday affairs will not be adversely affected by this event.

- "if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven." (Matthew 18:19)

5. Guessing Game Begins Over Obama Pick for Stevens' Supreme Court Seat - AP

All eyes are on Obama, as the country wonders if Justice Stevens' replacement will be a hard core liberal - or a moderate who'll breeze through the confirmation process. Elena Kagan and Diane Wood are hardly household names but in the days ahead reports will invariably come out about "short-lists" and names of people most Americans have never heard of as possible replacements for retiring Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens.

- Please begin NOW to make this Supreme Court appointment a matter of constant intercession. Cry out that a man or woman of Godly values be placed upon that seat, for this decision will impact our nation for decades to come. Ask the LORD to turn the heart of our "king" unto His will in this critical matter. Pray!

- "The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD; he directs it like a watercourse wherever he pleases." (Proverbs 21:1)

6. Stupak Calling It Quits - AP

Anti-abortion Democrat Rep. Bart Stupak, slammed for role in health care law, says he won't seek re-election.

- This whole episode of Bart Stupak's betrayal of the pro-life cause has brought great pain to our nation. Ask the Lord to begin His healing process in the hearts of all those who have lost trust in their elected representatives - and in their promises - and ask the LORD to restore what the locust has eaten here. May a man or woman of integrity, who values life, be elected instead to this office in November. Amen.

Israel has filed a complaint with the United Nations Thursday over alleged Palestinian plans to name an official PA building after terror mastermind Yahya Ayyash.

2. Russian FM urges Hamas to halt 'unconscionable' rocket fire - ICEJ News

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has called on Hamas to stop firing rockets into Israel, officials in Moscow said Thursday. Lavrov told Hamas leader Khaled Mashaal in a phone conversation that the Palestinian terror militia must stop the "unconscionable firing of rockets from the Gaza Strip into southern Israel."

3. Israel's mini-cabinet considering 4-month freeze in east Jerusalem - ICEJ News

US pressure on Netanyahu may be prelude to imposed peace plan

While publicly vowing not to bow to American pressure for a ban on Jewish building in east Jerusalem, the seven members of Israel's inner security cabinet are privately considering a four month freeze on new housing to help facilitate the launch of US-brokered "proximity talks" with the Palestinian Authority.

4. Egyptian forces uncover large weapons cache in Sinai - ICEJ News

Egyptian security forces discovered a large cache of weapons before dawn on Thursday in the northern Sinai desert near the border with Gaza, including over 100 anti-aircraft missiles, 45 RPG's,40 explosive devices, and ammunition for small arms.

The Prophetic Significance of The White House Aggression Against Israel

Reuters reports that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has pulled out of a planned trip to Washington next week for a 47-country nuclear security summit hosted by the White House. The report says that Netanyahu learned that Turkey and Egypt planned to raise the question of Israel's nuclear arsenal and try to force it to sign the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty. Israel has never confirmed nor denied possession of nuclear weapons as part of its security protocol. Netanyahu was planning on attending the conference because the White House had reassured him there would be no discussion on Israel's undeclared nuclear arms, but rather an opportunity to lobby support for sanctions against Iran.

Jerusalem news outlet NRG says that the White House has adopted a new policy of denying visas to Israeli Nuclear Research Center scientists who routinely came to America for continuing education on nuclear technology. In addition, One scientist told NRG, "I do not understand why all the top security is silent when our great friend is working against us in such a blatant manner." But the policy extends beyond visas. Nuclear Engineering Professor Zeev Alfasi stated that "the United States doesn't sell anything nuclear-related to the Dimona reactor, and that means absolutely nothing. Radiation detectors, for example, have to be purchased now in France because the USA refuses to sell these to Israel."

In a January 27 report, the Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs stated that massive US weapons sales to Arab rivals in the Middle East have eroded Israel's military superiority over its neighbors. The report said over the last year, the United States refused to approve any major Israeli weapons requests. At the same time, the White House has approved more than $10 billion worth of arms sales to Arab League states, including Egypt, Kuwait, Jordan, Morocco, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. Israeli Government sources asserted that the refusal represented a White House policy to link most arms sales to Israel to progress in the US plan to establish a Palestinian state in the West Bank.

Fact is, there is an Arab who occupies the Oval Office. He was brought up in the Muslim faith tradition, his grandfather, father, and step father all Muslims. In an interview with New York Times columnist Nicholas Kristof in March 2007, he "recalled the opening lines of the Arabic call to prayer, reciting them with a first-rate accent...[He] described the call to prayer as "one of the prettiest sounds on Earth at sunset." Is it no wonder this man is coming against Israel? In Zechariah 12:9, the Lord, speaking of the latter days, says, "And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem." Prepare yourselves for the days ahead.

Sunday, April 11, is Holocaust Remembrance Day

"March of Remembrance to be Held in Washington, D.C.

The United States officially commemorates the Holocaust during Days of Remembrance, each April marking the anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto uprising. The U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum is mandated by the U.S. Congress to lead the nation in observing these days of remembrance.

A March of Remembrance will take place in Washington D.C. on April 11th in cooperation with Messianic congregations and Christian churches.

The march will start at the Holocaust Museum and it will finish on the West Lawn of Congress with an open air meeting.

The evening event will take place at Immanuel's Church in Silver Springs, MD

The vision of this march is to take a stand with Israel, to make a public declaration in the face of rising anti-Semitism by commemorating the Holocaust, honoring the victims and survivors and making a way for reconciliation. There are going to be marches all across the US, but the key event is going to be in D.C. and we are expecting between 2000 - 3000 people for the open air meeting.

IFA WARNS OF DANGEROUS, NEW ANTI-SEMITIC MOVIE OUT NOW: "WITH GOD ON OUR SIDE"

Meanwhile, Intercessors for America has warned that a new anti-Semitic movie, "With God on Our Side," is now being released across America. Institute on Religion and Democracy President, Mark Tooley, offers this critique of "With God on Our Side," a new anti-Israel, pro-Palestinian solidarity film being released this month:

The film's main message to evangelicals, especially to young people, is that the Old Religious Right crassly imposed a pro-Israel U.S. foreign policy based on its end-times theology, creating untold suffering among largely innocent Palestinians.

The overly reductive film suggests that more thoughtful, more compassionate evangelicals will reject that heritage and instead stand with the Palestinians as the victim group most needing Christian compassion. The script and treatment perpetuates a simplistic stereotype alleging that American Evangelicals self-servingly only support Israel because a Jewish presence there is central to their blood thirsty, apocalyptic dreams about the Second Coming.

The "Progressive" Left and many "emergents" are now adopting the old Religious Left's Liberation Theology view of the Middle East, in which the Palestinians are the impoverished Third World victims, while Israel and the U.S. are the imperialists.

"'With God on Our Side' projects that Bible-believing evangelicals support apartheid-like, Jewish wall-builders while neglecting persecuted Palestinians. Of course, their persecution is faulted not just on Israel, but also the United States, especially its evangelicals.

The film, "Repentance: Changing the Future by Confronting the Past," a documentary on the Holocaust and a generation-long work of repentance and intercession spearheaded by German-born Basilea Schlink and a Lutheran order of nuns is being aired on Shalom TV through the remainder of this week. PRAYER REQUESTS FROM INTERCESSORS FOR AMERICA:

1. Pray that the Lord use this day to awaken remembrance, to reduce anti-Semitism globally, on U.S. campuses, and to establish truth and displace the lies of Holocaust denial.

2. Pray that many Jews and Christians will tune in and view the "Repentance" film this week leading to Yom HaShoah on April 11, Holocaust Heroism and Remembrance Day.

3. Lament and pray against a rise of anti-Semitism in churches and among young believers as the film, "With God on Our Side," is released. It is an anti-Israel, pro-Palestinian "progressive" evangelical emergent film.

WV Coal Miner's Testimony Just Weeks before Death:

"He said he was thankful that the Lord had saved his soul. . ."

As a West Virginia community, and the country, tries to deal with the devastating heartbreak of the loss of so many miners in the Upper Big Branch coal mine, one of the miners' statements may help to bring comfort.

Benny Willingham, one of the miners lost in Monday's explosive disaster underground, testified in his church, a couple weeks ago, and what he said has proved to be somewhat prophetic.

Benny's sister told CBS News reporter, Harry Smith, " . . . a couple weeks ago in church, he said he was thankful that the Lord had saved his soul, and he said 'He has watched over me in the mines for over 30 years.' He said, 'If He takes me tomorrow, I've had a good life.'"

Benny, who was described as a "loving, loving man who loved God and loved his family," had worked in the WV mines for over 30 years and was just weeks before retirement. Having served in the US Air Force, Benny will have military honors at the funeral. [Originally reported by Harry Smith, CBS News]

1. Amid Riots, Protesters Claim to Control Kyrgyzstan - AP

Opposition leaders declared they had seized power in Kyrgyzstan, taking control of security headquarters, a state TV channel and other government buildings after clashes between police and protesters killed dozens in this Central Asian nation that houses a key U.S. air base. President Kurmanbek Bakiyev, who came to power in a similar popular uprising five years ago, was said to have fled to the southern city of Osh, and it was difficult to gauge how much of the impoverished, mountainous country the opposition controlled Wednesday.

The opposition has called for the closure of the U.S. air base in Manas outside the capital of Bishkek that is a key transit point for supplies essential to the war in nearby Afghanistan. A senior U.S. military official said Kyrgyzstan officials halted flights for 12 hours on Wednesday at Manas air base. The official, who was not authorized to speak publicly, said the base closed around 8 p.m. local time and was expected to reopen around 8 a.m. Thursday.

- Lord, we pray Your mighty protection over this air base and the troops who run it. We ask that You guard US interests in Kyrgyzstan amidst this uprising.

- "A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; bit it shall not come near you. Only with your eyes shall you look, and see the reward of the wicked." (Psalm 91:7-8)

2. Smoking Diplomat Causes Midair Bomb Scare - AP

An envoy from Qatar who authorities said grabbed a surreptitious smoke in a jetliner's bathroom and then joked about lighting his shoe on fire, sparking a bomb scare and the scrambling of military jets, has been released from custody.

- Father, with signs in every airport around the world that tell people not to make jokes about bombs and not to smoke in the jet bathrooms, this man has flaunted his diplomatic immunity to do both. It speaks of the attitude of Qatar officials. We pray that our leaders be alerted to possible future problems.

- "For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks." (Matthew 12:34b)

3. U.S. looks to nonnuclear weapons to use as deterrent - Washington Post

As the White House pushes for cuts in the U.S. nuclear arsenal, the Pentagon is developing a weapon to help fill the gap: missiles armed with conventional warheads that could strike anywhere in the world in less than an hour.

- Lord, we are completely frustrated with this President who seems unwilling to protect America with strength. We ask first-- to help us trust in Your power and angelic host to secure Your people here in America, and second-- we pray that You will reveal Your ways to Mr. Obama. We ask that You shake his background and behavior out of him, to bring about a true conversion and revelation of the truth about the Kingdom of God.

4. Bill Clinton in Private Meeting With Saudi King - AFP

Former US president Bill Clinton was in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday for private meetings with King Abdullah and other Saudi officials, the information ministry said. "He arrived late yesterday and is expected to meet the king this afternoon," Hazzaa told AFP.

The nature of Clinton's visit was not clear.

The former president runs the New York-based William J. Clinton Foundation, which promotes and funds action on a number of current problems with global reach such as poverty, health, AIDS and climate change. The Saudi government has been a major supporter of Clinton's post-White House activities, donating 10 million dollars to the construction of his presidential library and between 10-25 million dollars to his foundation. Clinton, president from 1993 to 2001, is also the husband of US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who visited Saudi Arabia in February for talks on Iran and the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

- Father, though we do not know the nature of this visit, it still seems very much like a conflict of interest because of Hillary Clinton's position in the government. We ask that whatever agreements may have been reached will not be detrimental to the United States. Lord, let both our elected officials and our former officials have the best interests of America in their hearts, and let them be wary of deceptions.

- "Deliver my soul, O Lord, from lying lips and a deceitful tongue." (Psalm 120: 2)

5. Economy not "out of woods": Bernanke - Reuters

The U.S. economy still faces significant headwinds, including a housing sector that has yet to recover convincingly and an ailing employment market, Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke said on Wednesday.

- Lord, we continue to beseech You to have mercy over America. In spite of our sins and our apostasy, we pray for You to remember mercy over our economy.

- "Have mercy upon me, O God, according to Your lovingkindness; according to the multitude of Your tender mercies, blot out my transgressions." (Psalm 51: 1)

6. Swarm of Small Quakes Occurring at Alaska Volcano - Fox News

A swarm of small earthquakes began Monday at a volcano near Anchorage in what scientists said was a warning that Mount Redoubt could be waking from its slumber.

- Lord, as more and more signs arise in the earth to remind us of Your coming, we ask that You will help us hear You clearly and that the loss of life from all of these events will be greatly reduced.

- "He who has ears to hear, let him hear!" (Matthew 13:9)

7. Boston Man Gets 8 Years' Hard Labor in North Korea - AP

North Korea sentenced a Boston man to eight years of hard labor and ordered him to pay a $700,000 fine for crossing into the communist country illegally earlier this year, state media reported. However, Gomes - described by friends as a devout Christian - attended rallies in Seoul in support of Park, a fellow Christian from the U.S. who deliberately went into the North in December to call attention to the nation's rights record.

- Lord, we ask that You will set this man free, as You have done for so many other recent arrests in North Korea.

- "He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound." (Isaiah 61:1b,1c)

8. BREAKING - News Alert: U.S., Russia sign sweeping arms reduction treaty - Washington Post

Obama and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev signed a sweeping new arms reduction pact on Thursday that pledges to reduce the stockpile of deployed, strategic nuclear weapons in both countries and commits the old Cold War adversaries to new procedures to verify which weapons each country possesses.

In a ceremony in Prague, Obama and President Medvedev each signed their names to the document, which U.S. officials said would be posted in full on the Internet later Thursday.

The treaty, called New START, imposes new limits on the ready-to-use, long-range nuclear weapons and pledges to reduce the two biggest nuclear arsenals on the globe.

- In these last days, news that affects all of us at the global level is surfacing at an ever-increasing pace. Pray, first, that the leaders of the U.S. and Russia will use GREAT WISDOM in implementing this new treaty. Pray, too, that any deception will become readily apparent to all.

Then . . . pray for each other, that we each be so rooted and grounded in the love of Christ that no news, no matter how "unnerving," will cause us to stumble in our walk in Him. Amen.

1. Netanyahu: Israel will not be pushed to peace - Ha'aretz

Israel will not accept a Middle East peace agreement that is forced on it by external forces, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reportedly said in private meetings in recent days, sources said Wednesday.

2. Iran: If Israel attacks, nothing will remain of it - Ynet News

Iranian Defense Minister Ahmad Vahidi on Wednesday toured the northwestern provinces of the Islamic Republic with President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, and said that "if the Zionist regime attacks Iran, there may not be much left of it."

3. US says won't impose ideas on Israel, PA - Ynet News

US State Department Spokesman Philip Crowley refused Wednesday to directly address a Washington Post report that President Barack Obama was seriously considering to present a Middle East peace plan in the fall.

4. Report: Obama mulls new Mideast peace plan - Ha'aretz

Hussein Obama is weighing the possibility of submitting a new American Middle East peace plan by this fall, senior Washington officials told the Washington Post on Wednesday.

White House Actions Are A Lose-Lose For American Christians

In his Passover and Easter message, Obama mentioned Jesus once, lumped the Jewish Passover and Christian resurrection together, and gave Muslims equal billing as part of a "shared spirit", he says inhabits us all. He said, "And while we worship in different ways, we also remember the shared spirit of humanity that inhabits us all - Jews and Christians, Muslims and Hindus, believers and nonbelievers alike." Later in the message, he edited out every mention of Christ and His resurrection in quoting a chaplain who delivered a powerful 1945 Easter message after the battle of Iwo Jima. Actions speak louder than words, and sometimes the words not said are far more telling.

In the seven days surrounding the most holy of Christian observances--the resurrection of Jesus Christ-- Obama has told those who have sworn by their religion that Christians and Jews are their eternal enemies that he will not defend the United States with nuclear weapons if attacked by a non-nuclear nation. He also announced that words like "Islamic extremism" and other references that relate Islam to terrorism will be removed from the National Security Strategy. Government counterterrorism officials told Fox News that the rewriting of the nation's security strategy will "emphasize that the United States does not view Muslim nations through the lens of terror."
All this is part of an effort to reach out to the Muslim world by this Administration. The concept is that if they show that we all worship the same god; that we no longer will retaliate with the full complement of our military advantage if attacked; that if Islam is no longer viewed by the American government as an enemy, that the enemy will no longer seek to destroy the United States. The problem with this approach is that Islamists see the United States through the lens of the Koran, which tells Muslims in 2:191, "Kill the infidels wherever you find them," in 8:12, "I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore behead them and cut off every fingertip of them," in 9:29, "Fight those who do not believe in Allah."

These are just a few of the many verses in the Koran that instruct Muslims as part of their religious tradition to kill Christians and Jews. Now the question must be asked: Is this US leader doing these unconstitutional things because he truly believes that by disarming and appeasing that America's enemies will become friends, or is he purposely weakening America that the faith tradition of his youth be empowered over this nation of Christians? Either way it is bad for every American citizen. Jesus said in Matthew 7:15, 16, "Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. You shall know them by their fruits."

The VAT Man Cometh

This week, White House economic advisor Paul Volker said that the United States ought to consider imposing a European-style value added tax (VAT) to get the deficit under control. He said, "If at the end of the day we need to raise taxes, we should raise taxes." A VAT tax is essentially a national sales tax, which would be added to existing state sales taxes. France's VAT is nearly 20%. So just imagine all of your recent purchases costing 20% more.

That may seem outrageous to you, but Obama's economic advisor doesn't think so. Volker said that a VAT "was not as toxic an idea" today as it has been in the past. And just to be clear, Volker was not suggesting that we replace the income tax with a VAT tax, but that the VAT be added to the income tax. Evidently, Volker wouldn't mind paying $7.00 a gallon for gas either, because he also recommended that we consider taxing carbon too.

Just like their love of socialized medicine, liberal Democrats are drawn to the VAT like a moth to a flame. The reason is simple: If you're going to fundamentally transform America into a Big Government, European-style welfare state, you're going to need big, European-style taxes. Last year, Speaker Nancy Pelosi told PBS's Charlie Rose, "Somewhere along the way, a value-added tax plays into this . . .I think it's fair to look at a value-added tax as well."

Is a VAT tax imminent? That depends. Obama's spending is clearly out of control. Yesterday, Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke warned Congress that the deficit is the biggest threat to long-term economic growth and stability. I guarantee you that in the weeks ahead, we'll hear from Obama about the need to get the deficit he created under control.

But there are only two ways to get the deficit under control - cut spending or increase taxes. Volker and Pelosi are clearly on the side of raising taxes, and Obama, who has already added $2 trillion to the national debt (that doesn't even include ObamaCare), is clearly unable to restrain himself when it comes to spending. So I predict that all the rhetoric we're going to hear about "fiscal discipline" in the days ahead will be laying the ground work for massive tax hikes down the road.

Democrats won't propose a VAT tax now - just 208 days before the mid-term elections. But, unless conservatives make major gains in November, we could well see a VAT tax, a carbon tax or both - as Volker suggests - sometime next year. Hussein Obama's Plan: Force Israeli Concessions

Is Obama preparing literally to force Israel to sign an agreement with Palestinians that would jeopardize Israeli security? Well-connected Washington Post columnist David Ignatius and the New York Times both reported this week that six former national security advisors have been regularly meeting at the White House and are advising Obama to impose a peace agreement. Obama reportedly likes the idea. (Among the former national security advisors are Brent Scowcroft and Zbigniew Brzezinski, both of whom have long histories of pro-Arab sympathies.)

According to the "leaks," top administration officials believe that everyone knows the basic outlines of a peace deal. But of course if that were true, there would already be a peace deal. Deep divisions remain between the two sides on the status of Jerusalem, the future of Israeli communities in Judea-Samaria, where 300,000 Israelis live, control of the Jordan Valley, the status of Palestinian refugees - the list goes on and on.

Thus everyone does NOT know what a future peace agreement would look like. But everyone should know what an imposed Obama "peace" would look like. This is a president who is "flat-line" when told that Iran is building more nuclear facilities, but goes "ballistic" when an Israeli bureaucrat makes a routine announcement about building housing units in a 20-year-old Jerusalem neighborhood. He bows to the Saudi King, while he goes out of his way to insult Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu. Obama has already reneged on agreements and guarantees made to Israel in past negotiations. Why would any Israeli leader trust him to keep promises made in a peace pact that he would impose?

Nukes of Hazard?

With the announcement of a new nuclear doctrine by the Obama administration, some on the Evangelical Left are hailing this move as a step toward peace and a nuclear-free world. If only that were true. I don't want reflexively to endorse any excessive response to threats against the U.S., but I do want to raise some pointed objections to the flawed theology and failed policy of pacifism embraced by the Left. Paul's letter to the Romans tells us that government does not bear the sword for nothing, and that it is God's instrument to deal with wrongdoers. We have vast experience with making peace in this country. Thomas Jefferson refused to pay tribute to Muslim hostage takers, instead sending the Marines "to the shores of Tripoli " to fight for our rights. Theodore Roosevelt sent the Great White Fleet around the world to demonstrate to potentially hostile powers that America was not to be trifled with. Ronald Reagan deterred aggre ssion by building up U.S. defenses so that he could safely sign the greatest arms reduction treaty in world history. Reagan said "none of the wars of my lifetime occurred because the United States was too strong."

Peace through strength is a tried and true maxim. No one can countenance a nuclear exchange lightly. Yet the sad irony is that if we disarm too much, we invite the potential of a nuclear attack. To defend our security and liberty, we must retain sufficient nuclear weapons to deter any nation from ever thinking it could successfully attack us. Christians should pray for the day when all swords will be beaten into plowshares, and the lion will lie down with the lamb. Until that day arrives, while evil remains in the world, we must be vigilant and not allow our hopes for the future to place us in present danger. (Family Research Council)

Teen Birth Rates Down, Abstinence Credited

Teen birth rates in the U.S. declined after increasing in 2006 and 2007, according to the Centers for Disease Control. The 2008 numbers show the rate declined by two percent among girls 15-19. The largest decline occurred among 18- and 19-year-olds at four percent.

Valerie Huber, executive director with The National Abstinence Education Association, said a "positive trend begun a decade ago can continue." "We should redouble our efforts to help teens avoid all the consequences of sexual activity, including teen childbearing," she said.

President Obama eliminated all funding for abstinence-centered education in his 2011 budget. However, due largely to Sen. Orrin Hatch's efforts, Congress reinstated a third of the original funding for five years in the health care reform law.

"(The) announcement provides Congress an opportunity to make a course correction by again placing a priority on the risk-avoidance abstinence-centered message," she said. (CitizenLink)

1. Obama Bans Islam, Jihad From National Security Strategy Document - Fox News

Hussein Obama's advisers will remove religious terms such as "Islamic extremism" from the central document outlining the U.S. national security strategy and will use the rewritten document to emphasize that the United States does not view Muslim nations through the lens of terror, counterterrorism officials said.

- God, let the truth stand and throw up a roadblock that will prevent this rewritten document from going to press. Weaken its message saying the bad is not to be exposed as dangerous to our national security. Put Your Name against this document of evil control. In Jesus Name.

2. Obama Administration Eyes New Taxes, Fees for National Broadband Network - Fox News

A massive national broadband plan the Federal Communications Commission released last month proposes creating a national framework for the taxation of digital goods and services and imposing a fee to establish and maintain a national public safety wireless broadband network.

- Almighty God, with Your power hold down this FCC plan under the mighty hand of God and raise up a holy standard against it. Without public input and with little public awareness, the secretive groups are undermining our freedom in an attempt to put heavy burdens on our people. 3. Volcker: Taxes likely to rise eventually to tame deficit - Reuters

The United States should consider raising taxes to help bring deficits under control and may need to consider a European-style value-added tax, White House adviser Paul Volcker said on Tuesday.

Dismantle their authority by touching the center of their power with the blood of Jesus. Black conservatives are really taking heat for their involvement in the mostly white tea party movement -- and for having the audacity to oppose the policies of the nation's first black president.

- God, cover these people by the blood of Jesus who are taking a stand for liberty and letting their voices be heard that these policies are extremely unpopular with the majority of Americans. Give them strength to hold to their convictions to defend the Constitution and Bill of Rights and freedom from enemies plotting the dissolution of the United States. In Jesus Name.

5. Whitman chips in $20M more in Calif. gov. race - AP

Former eBay chief executive Meg Whitman on Monday gave her campaign for the GOP gubernatorial nomination another $20 million, bringing her contributions from her personal fortune to $59 million in what is expected to be the most expensive governor's race in California history.

6. IAEA inspects Syria reactor in uranium traces probe - Washington Post

U.N. inspectors have been able to revisit a Damascus nuclear research reactor as part of a probe into possible covert atomic activity in Syria, diplomats said on Tuesday.

US Defense Secretary Robert Gates said Tuesday that unprecedented limits being placed on the US nuclear arsenal will not weaken US defenses and will send a "strong message" to Iran and North Korea to "play by the rules."

- God, break all restrictions put on our nuclear arsenal that would lead us into a defenseless war with our enemies. May the angels of the Lord push through to enable US military to be fully armed and capable to withstand any attack. May the voices of the enemy from within be stilled. Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu announced on Tuesday that he will return to the US on Monday, to take part in President Barack Obama's Nuclear Security Summit, just three weeks after he met with Obama in a meeting widely characterized as extremely difficult.

2. Palestinian official: U.S. bid to revive Mideast talks at dead-end - Ha'aretz

The United States has reached a dead end in its attempts to revive Middle East peace talks, a senior Palestinian official said on Tuesday.

3. 'Third Temple' bus ads removed - Ynet News

An advertising campaign posted on Egged buses in Jerusalem, which called for the construction of the Third Temple instead of the al-Aqsa Mosque, has been removed by the advertising franchiser, Ynet learned Tuesday.

White House Ends Era of Nuclear Deterrence

Puts Every American At Risk

Obama is slated to announce his new plan on nuclear weapons. He told the New York Times, "I'm going to preserve all the tools that are necessary in order to make sure that the American people are safe and secure." But in reality, he is telling America's enemies that the nation is open to receive a devastating attack without retaliation. The Times reports "For the first time, the United States is explicitly committing not to use nuclear weapons against nonnuclear states that are in compliance with the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty, even if they attacked the United States with biological or chemical weapons or launched a crippling cyberattack."

The preamble to the US Constitution says, "We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America." By making a public proclamation that the United States does not intend to use the most powerful weapons known to man to defend the nation against its enemies, this White House is inviting America's enemies to attack her. This White House is violating the Constitution by putting the life of every American man, woman and child in jeopardy.

Proverbs 2:11-15 says, "Discretion shall preserve you, understanding shall keep you: To deliver you from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaks fraudulent (Strong's interpretation of froward, also perverse) things; Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness; Who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the perversity of the wicked; Whose ways are crooked, and they are perverse in their paths." Americans must develop discernment and understanding that within 18 months of taking office, this White House has burdened its people with tremendous, and without a miracle, insurmountable debt, has insulted our allies, has established dependency on government beyond measure, and is now putting our lives at great risk.

What will it take for Americans to understand the foundation of evil? What is needed to snap the citizenry out of its slumber? Romans 13:12 says, "The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light." Light is revealing. Light pierces the darkness. Light is what Christians are to be to the world. Yet with all the meanings of Light--physically, spiritually, symbolically--we as a nation, primarily claiming to be a Christian majority, stand by and allow the destruction of a nation that is the beacon of God's word to the world. Shame on this den of evildoers in Congress and the White House for their deeds. Shame on American citizens for allowing it to continue.

Obama's Nuke Disaster

In his 14 months in office, Barack Obama has failed to do anything to realistically prevent Iran's Islamic regime from obtaining nuclear weapons. Apparently, he has decided to disarm the U.S. instead. In an interview published in the New York Times this morning, Obama "previews" his new policy on nuclear weapons. We will analyze the formal plan when it is released, but the Times piece tells us enough to know it will make American families less safe.

Obama's goal is to make "nuclear weapons obsolete," and apparently he is going to start with our nuclear weapons. He has overridden the position of his Secretary of Defense and decided that the U.S. will not develop any new nuclear weapons. But failure to upgrade our nuclear arsenal will inevitably mean its deterrent value and reliability will shrink. It is unilateral disarmament in slow motion.

And in a truly stunning decision, Obama has decided that if another nation attacks us with biological or chemical weapons, we will not use nuclear weapons in response, as long as the enemy nation is in compliance with the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty!

The New York Times says the new policy "eliminates much of the ambiguity that has deliberately existed in American nuclear policy." Let me translate for you: Our enemies now know they can use outlawed biological and chemical weapons on us without fear that the U.S. will respond with nuclear weapons. How does this make the world safer?

Some analysts are suggesting that Obama's policy is centrist because it will be criticized by "hawks" like me, while not going as far as the radical Left, total disarmament crowd wants. But it isn't centrist at all. It is another naïve and regrettable step that makes an unthinkable day in our future more likely.

Meanwhile, in the real world to which our president appears oblivious, Israel began distributing gas masks and protection kits to be used in the event of a chemical or biological attack. Why would Israel do that? Because Israel's Islamofascist enemies have repeatedly denied its right to exist, fired rockets and missiles at its civilians and sent homicide bombers into cafes and onto packed buses--all while promising a second Holocaust by "wiping Israel off the map."

Echoes from the Souls Who Know Both Bondage and Freedom

Verizon says it will cost over $970 million. AT & T says it will cost a cool billion dollars. Deere & Co costs will be $150 million. It will cost Caterpillar $100 million. This is just a cross section of companies who have estimated the cost of socialized medicine in 2010. Bloomberg reports that the costs will reduce corporate profits by some $14 billion in 2010, reflecting "real value destruction, based on expected cash flows over the life of the company," according to an analyst at Jefferies & Co in New York. Another analyst told Bloomberg, "This is having an impact on the bottom line and that can cut jobs." This at a time when Gallup reports that 20.3% of the American workforce is unemployed or working only part time.

Adding insult to injury, the White House is red hot angry over these companies announcements at a time when it wanted to use the Easter recess for a public relations effort to sell Americans on the benefits of the socialized health care legislation rammed through Congress and signed into law. The Heritage Foundation reports that "the leftist majorities in Congress were incensed that America's employers would dare warn their investors about the costs" at the same time the Administration's national sales pitch was set to begin, that they have mounted an effort to use "the full force of the federal government to bully and harass America's job creators."

According to Heritage, "House Energy and Commerce Committee chairman Henry Waxman (D-Ca) sent letters to the CEOs of Deere, Caterpillar, Verizon, and AT&T demanding all documents "from January 1, 2009, through the present" regarding "any analysis related to the projected impact of healthcare reform" and "any documents, including e-mail messages, sent to or prepared or reviewed by senior company officials related to the projected impact of healthcare reform." Waxman intends to haul these CEOs in front of the Subcommitte on Oversight and Investigations, which just happens to be chaired by Rep. Bart Stupak (D-Michigan), for a hearing on April 21."

Americans are seeing the first signs of the full power of socialism descend upon them like a hammer--this humanist government meting out its judgments as if it were God. It would seem as no coincidence that this is happening during a time when the nation's Christians should be celebrating the perfect liberty given to us by the death and resurrection of our savior Jesus Christ. This may well be a prophetic reminder of Galatians 5:1, "Stand fast therefore in the Liberty wherewith Christ has made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage." Its a message that echoes through the halls of time across the ages from the voices of the souls of those who know both bondage and freedom.

News from Israel

100 Antiaircraft Missiles Seized in Sinai

Egyptian security forces on Wednesday [March 31] uncovered a large cache of missiles and mortar shells in northern Sinai which are believed to have been bound for the Gaza Strip, Egyptian newspaper al-Youm al-Sabe reported Thursday.

A security source told the paper that the cache was seized near the city of Nahal, located on the smuggling route to Gaza, and that it contained some 100 antiaircraft missiles, 45 rocket-propelled grenades, and 40 explosive devices.

According to the report, the officer in charge of security in northern Sinai received information that the smugglers were storing a large amount of explosives and ammunition left from past wars in the region, east of Nahal. After receiving the information, Egypt's security forces entered the area and located the weapons cache, but did not apprehend any suspects. The entire area was combed and the explosives were to be detonated in a controlled manner in central Sinai.

The newspaper also reported that Egypt's security forces on Wednesday uncovered three tunnels connecting the Egyptian city of Rafah and the Gaza Strip.

An official security source said Wednesday that the Egyptian police had confiscated in Sinai 41 vehicles used for smuggling operation into the Gaza Strip. The source said the police found one of the vehicles, without a license plate, during a routine patrol north of the Rafah crossing. The 40 additional vehicles were found after the police searched the area. (Ynetnews) Read more

Congress Shows Support for Israel

US Politicians Express Support for Israel

While tensions between Hussein Obama's administration and Israel continued to be a hot topic in the news, the Jewish state recently got a political boost as three-quarters of the US House of Representatives signed a letter supporting Israel and calling for the tensions to subside.

According to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), which released the letter as part of a press release, the American politicians wrote to US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to "reaffirm our commitment to the unbreakable bond that exists between our country and the State of Israel, and to express to you our deep concern over recent tension."

AIPAC said the letter received 327 government signatures in less than three days. The letter also noted the recent diplomatic problems, which have centered largely around Israeli construction in Jewish neighborhoods in East Jerusalem. The letter said that between the allies "there will be differences over issues both large and small. Our view is that such differences are best resolved quietly, in trust and confidence, as befits longstanding strategic allies."

The importance of Israel to the US was also mentioned. As said in the letter, "A strong Israel is an asset to the national security of the United States, and brings stability to the Middle East." Iran was considered as a key concern. The congressional members said that a strong relationship with Israel is what has made Arab-Israel peace deals possible before.

"It is the very strength of this relationship that has, in fact, made Arab-Israeli peace agreements possible, both because it convinced those who sought Israel's destruction to abandon any such hope, and because it gave successive Israeli governments the confidence to take calculated risks for peace and American involvement continues to be critical to the effort to achieve peace between Israel and the Palestinians."

AIPAC welcomed the letter, calling it an "enormous outpouring of support for the special relationship between the United States and Israel, which is rooted in shared values and common interests, including democracy, tolerance, the rule of law and the pursuit of peace." (Bridges for Peace)

1. White House 'Ready' for Next High Court Nomination, Setting Up Tricky Timetable - Fox News

The White House will "of course be ready" when the next seat opens up on the Supreme Court, Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said Monday, potentially setting up a tricky timetable for nominating and confirming a successor to Justice John Paul Stevens before the next term starts in October.

• Heavenly Father, we pray for this issue with urgency. Lord, we pray the next Justice to be seated will be your minister. We pray for all the Justices to diligently seek you. Change their hearts. Let them judge with righteousness.

Moreover you shall select from all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them to be rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens. (Exodus 18:21)

2. Report on Social Security Delayed - AP

The Obama administration is delaying release of the annual report on the financial health of Social Security and Medicare so that the new report can reflect the impact of the recently passed health care overhaul. This official said the decision was made to incorporate all of the changes made by the legislation to better reflect reality now that Congress has passed health care overhaul.

• Lord, we pray that all the numbers coming from the government will reflect a true analysis of the actual numbers. Let your truth be reflected and not dubious numbers manipulated.

3. Some Jobless Benefits Run Out - Wall Street Journal

Tens of thousands of jobless Americans could lose unemployment benefits this week after Congress failed last month to enact a short-term extension, with Democratic and Republican lawmakers on Monday exchanging blame. Meantime, Democratic and Republican lawmakers said they supported temporary extensions. But such Republicans as Sen. John McCain and Sen. Mitch McConnell said their support was contingent on identifying the funds to pay for them.

• Lord, we pray for all our elected officials to be very frugal and wise in what extensions and bills they pass. Help those that are unemployed and let churches contribute to help these people with their needs.

• Heavenly Father, we bind any actions that would cause our nation to be unguarded and unsafe. We pray that you will replace all leadership that is moving to make our nation weak and less protected.

5. Conservatives Fear Census will Inflate Gay Numbers - One News Now

With strong backing from the Census Bureau, gay-rights activists are urging maximum participation by their community in the first U.S. census that will tally same-sex couples who say they're married - even those without a marriage license.

• Lord, we pray those who are seeking to manipulate the census numbers to cause an unbalance in the actual numbers, will be blocked from their activities. Foil their plans and let truth be revealed.

You shall have a perfect and just weight, a perfect and just measure . . .for all who behave unrighteously , are an abomination to the Lord your God. (Deuteronomy 25:15, 16)

6. US Govt to Seek a Record $16M Penalty Over Toyota Recalls - ABC News

The government accused Toyota of hiding a "dangerous defect" and proposed a record $16.4 million fine on Monday for failing to quickly alert regulators to safety problems in gas pedals on popular models such as the Camry and Corolla. There could be further penalties under continuing federal investigations. The Japanese automaker faces private lawsuits seeking many millions more.

• Lord, knowing that the government now owns some car companies and is looking for ways to improve American companies car sales, we look at this sudden intense investigation of Toyota with scrutiny. We pray that all car companies will come under the same intense investigation and not just this foreign company - Toyota.

Remove from me the way of lying, and grant me Your law graciously. I have chosen the way of truth; Your judgments I have laid before me. (Psalms 119:29, 30)

7. Texas Man Threatened Deadly Force to Stop Abortion - AP

A Texas man faces charges after he filed documents in federal court threatening to use deadly force to stop an abortion if the US Supreme Court didn't immediately act to outlaw the practice, federal officials said Monday.

"My religious beliefs include the beliefs that an individual is alive at the moment of conception, abortion is murder and is the worst murder of all murders possible because these babies are completely defenseless, and I am entitled under my religious beliefs to use deadly force if necessary to save the innocent life of another," Lo wrote.

• Heavenly Father, while we believe that abortion is a heinous murder of a child, we pray for this situation to not inflame the passions of people on either side of this issue. We pray that instead, people will use this situation as a teaching tool and that people will receive the knowledge of what you say about life. Let our nation turn back to righteousness in all things - especially abortion.

A new Postal Company campaign will be launched Tuesday evening, officially opening the process of distributing atomic, biological, and chemical kits to citizens' homes across Israel.

4. We won't tolerate rockets on Negev - Jerusalem Post

Israel will not allow a recurrence to the state that existed before Operation Cast Lead, when constant rocket and mortar fire rained on the western Negev from the Gaza Strip, a senior government official said on Saturday night in response to the escalating violence in the South.

5. Meshal: All options against Israel are open, including war - Ha'aretz

Hamas political leader Khaled Meshal said on Saturday that all options against Israel remain open, including war, Channel 10 news reported.

1. Navy Captures Pirates after Attack - CNN

The USS Nicholas was attacked by pirates today in the Indian Ocean, the Navy says. The warship fired back, sank the skiff and captured the pirates and a mother ship.

- Lord, we rejoice that our warship was able to stop the piracy action. We pray that the presence of US ships in the region will stop the constant attacks, and that Your Spirit will drop these Somali pirates and their leaders to their knees.

- "Fear and dread will fall on them; by the greatness of Your arm they will be as still as a stone" (Exodus 15:16a)

2. Democrats Accused of Trying to 'Intimidate' Firms for Airing Health Care Concerns - FOXNews

The CEOs of some of the country's biggest companies are being summoned to Washington to defend claims that the health care reform law would cost them millions -- a move Republicans say amounts to intimidation.

- Father, we ask that You will put a stop to the hypocrisy and intimidation of our leaders who continually try to stop lawful free speech and dissension.

- "Do not say, 'A conspiracy,' concerning all that this people call a conspiracy, nor be afraid of their threats nor be troubled. The Lord of Hosts, Him you shall hallow; Let Him be your fear, and let Him be your dread." (Isaiah 8:12-13)

3. Ga. Lawmaker Wants to Impeach AG Over Health Care - Fox News

A Georgia legislator wants to begin the impeachment process against his state attorney general for refusing to sue the federal government over health care reform.

Republican state Rep. Mark Hatfield filed a bill Tuesday against Democratic Attorney General Thurbert Baker, who is also running for governor.

The resolution claims Baker is required by the Georgia constitution to follow Republican Gov. Sonny Perdue's direction and join 14 other states challenging the Democratic-backed health care bill.

- Lord, in this openly political refusal by the Georgia AG, we ask that truth prevail. May the people of Georgia follow the constitution of their state, and if they will not, let them be removed.

4. Obama Labor Pick's Support for Gay Rights Worries Conservatives - FOXNews

Obama's recess appointment of an outspoken supporter of gay rights to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission is causing alarm among social conservatives, who worry that she'll strip religious rights from schools and businesses and "revolutionize" social norms in the workplace.

- Father, as many of the administration's poor choices for positions have already resigned, we ask that this one will as well. We pray that You will reveal all truth regarding this appointment, and remove her from such a crucial position.

- "Deliver me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked, out of the hands of the unrighteous and cruel man, for You are my hope, O Lord God" (Psalm 71:4)

5. Wiretap by U.S. Illegal, Judge Says - Wall Street Journal

A federal judge ruled that the government illegally wiretapped communications between an Islamic charity and its U.S. lawyers, rebuffing the Obama administration's efforts to stop a lawsuit over the case by claiming state secrets.

- Father, before we react to this seemingly bad ruling, we ask You to examine our hearts and see if we could stand up in righteousness under a wiretap. Lord, would we rant and rave about our government if we did not know others were listening? Father, cleanse our hearts, so that we might be protected as the government searches for enemies of the state, and protect us all from a widening of that power to include the innocent.

- "I will wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in His Word do I hope." ( Psalm 130:5)

6. Prosecutor: Agent Infiltrated Christian Militia - NewsMax

Detention hearings for members of a Christian militia group who authorities say plotted to incite a violent revolt are recessed until Thursday. A federal prosecutor who argued to hold them without bail said Wednesday that an undercover agent infiltrated the group and built explosives under the direction of suspected ringleader David Brian Stone.

- Lord, we are aware that undercover operations often net criminals. We ask, however, that as the government power grows, and more hostility comes against Christians that Your protection and discernment will cover Your beloved ones. As infiltration of Christian groups was the norm in Communist regimes, we pray that it will not become the norm in America.

- "Let all them be ashamed and brought to mutual confusion who seek to destroy my life; let them be driven backward and brought to dishonor who wish me evil." (Psalm 40:13-14)

7. CIA: Iran capable of producing nukes - Washington Times

Iran is poised to begin producing nuclear weapons after its uranium program expansion in 2009, even though it has had problems with thousands of its centrifuges, according to a newly released CIA report.

- Lord, Iran kept everyone caught in a web of ineffective diplomacy while they ramped up their nuclear program. We pray that Your power will be revealed against the wicked, and that Your angelic Host will put a stop to this mad man.

- Father, we pray for an angel to be assigned to this scientist who will protect him from all harm. Thrust out his enemies and render them powerless by the blood of Jesus. Raise him up to be changed into a new man by the regeneration power of Your Word. In Jesus Name.

Iran has focused its intelligence efforts on the U.S. military presence in the Gulf.

- God, surround all U.S. military in the Gulf with Your angelic host that is so powerful and so mighty that none can break through this holy hedge of protection. Give our military godly wisdom, knowledge and understanding that will weaken and scatter the enemy. Reduce to nothing the efforts of Iran to bring chaos or confusion and totally dismantle their armament. In Jesus Name.
