California Fire Updates

1. Death toll in Northern California wildfire rises to 42, as Trump OKs disaster declaration for Golden State - Fox News

Driven by high winds and fueled by dry conditions, what started as a wildland fire became an 'area ignition' event that grew into a 'giant structure fire' in Paradise, says Tim Aboudara of the International Association of Firefighters.

The death toll for the wildfires burning in northern California's Camp Fire rose to 42 people Monday night - making it the deadliest wildfire ever in the state, officials said. Authorities announced that 13 more bodies were found during searches on Monday. The death toll is expected to continue to rise.

The news comes after President Trump approved a "major disaster declaration" in the Golden State early Monday evening.

"I just approved an expedited request for a Major Disaster Declaration for the State of California. Wanted to respond quickly in order to alleviate some of the incredible suffering going on. I am with you all the way. God Bless all of the victims and families affected," Trump said on Twitter.

As the search for victims dragged on, friends and relatives of the missing called hospitals, police, shelters and the coroner's office in hopes of learning what became of their loved ones. Paradise was a popular retirement community, and about a quarter of the population was over 65.

Hundreds of people were unaccounted for by the sheriff's reckoning, four days after the fire swept over the town of 27,000 and practically wiped it off the map with flames so fierce that authorities brought in a mobile DNA lab and forensic anthropologists to help identify the dead. (Read more)

- Father, we thank You for the release of these emergency resources by President Trump. We ask that they be utilized in the most efficient and strategic way possible, so that the thousands of impacted citizens in the State of California will experience Your mercy. In Your Name, amen.

"And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus." (Phil. 4:19)

2. Woolsey Fire Grows to 146 Square Miles, Enters 5th Day Amid Wind Concerns - KTLA5

The firefight against the destructive and deadly Woolsey Fire is in its fifth day Monday as officials keep one eye focused on the constantly changing weather conditions. The fire had grown in size Monday to 93,662 acres - just over 146 square miles - and containment had increased to 30 percent, Cal Fire reported Monday evening. Favorable overnight weather conditions contributed to the fire's minimal growth, Cal Fire stated. More than 3,200 firefighters are working to contain the fire. Winds remained relatively calm early Monday as Sky 5 was over a morning flare up in Malibu Canyon. Gusts are expected to pick up through the morning hours, reaching between 30 and 50 mph, before tapering off again around noon. A red flag warning for the region is in place until Tuesday evening. (Read more)

- Father God, as we read this report from eastern Ventura County, we are blessed to see that the Santa Ana winds have subsided, from time to time, allowing these firefighters to contain more and more acreage. We see this report as a direct answer to prayer, and we praise You for this news, in Your Name, amen.

3. Wind-driven brush fire burns 30 acres of dry hillside near Cal State San Bernardino - ABC News/Los Angeles

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (KABC) -- A wind-driven brush fire burned behind the California State University, San Bernardino campus Sunday night, but authorities said it did not threaten the campus.

The fire started shortly before 8 p.m. in the 5500 block of University Parkway. Authorities said the 3-acre blaze appeared to be moving uphill and was fueled by dry brush and strong winds. In less than an hour it grew to about 30 acres, authorities said.

. . . "The key to getting this fire under control quickly was a massive resource response from both county fire as well as the U.S. Forest Service. First-alarm resources reinforced by second-alarm resources, getting our hand crews, our engine companies and dozers - all the work before the wind could really exert its influence and create havoc on the community," said Eric Sherwin, with San Bernardino County Fire Department.

By 9:45 p.m., authorities said the forward progress of the blaze was stopped and they began mopping up the blaze. (Read more)

- Lord God, we thank You for the quick and efficient, multi-agency response to the outbreak of this fire in San Bernardino County. Working together, the U.S. Forest Service teamed with local first responders to stop this fire in its tracks. Thank You, Lord, amen.

"And I said, 'Thus far you shall come, but no farther; And here shall your proud waves [flames] stop.'" (Job 38:11)

4. Woolsey Fire danger 'not over yet,' officials warn as Santa Ana winds return - Ventura County Star

Officials warned residents to remain cautious Sunday morning as Santa Ana winds picked up, increasing the potential for hot spots and flare-ups in the path of the Woolsey Fire.

Authorities urged those who were still under an evacuation order to stay away from their homes, as the winds can cause hot spots anywhere throughout the footprint of the Woolsey Fire - which stretches from just south of Simi Valley all the way to Malibu.

The winds are expected to continue through Tuesday. (Read more - especially how conditions have changed so that these fires are now moving faster than ever before.)

- Lord God, as this firestorm has now become a siege, we ask that Your grace would be upon all survivors, and especially those who reside in a possible evacuation zone. May they all remain fully on watch, in case they, too, need to evacuate their homes in a moment's notice. Amen.

"I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower. . ." (Habakkuk 2:1)

5. James Woods uses Twitter to support California wildfire victims, calls on Hollywood stars to stop 'trolling' and help- Fox News

Conservative actor James Woods called for Hollywood to take a break from "trolling Twitter" to focus on helping victims of California's destructive wildfires that have killed at least 31 people. "Every Californian with a #BlueCheckMark is invited to stop trolling @Twitter today and use your voice to retweet #Evacuation and #Safety advisories instead. Be sure to check the time an advisory was posted," Woods tweeted on Monday. "Thank you! #SoCalFiresJamesWoods #CampFireJamesWoods" Woods, a rare conservative in Hollywood, typically tweets political statements to his 1.84 million followers, but the actor has taken his own advice and used his massive platform to help with issues pertaining to the deadly fires. Woods even changed his bio and pinned tweet to information aimed to help victims find missing loved ones as his Twitter feed has morphed into a comprehensive fire survival guide for California residents.

Woods has been tweeting non-stop, with messages ranging from tips to keep animals safe to lists of items needed to safely evacuate. The actor is using a series of hashtags to help centralize the information he is distributing. Woods tags his messages with #CampFireJamesWoods for the Northern California fires and #SoCalFiresJamesWoods for the Southern fires, in addition to hashtags such as #WoosleyFire, #Malibu, #Chico and #Paradise to help narrow down locations. (Read more)

- Father God, we thank You for this example now being set by a famous Hollywood actor, and we know that others are also following his example. In times of disaster,
we are all one, in Your name, amen.

"And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose." (Romans 8:28)

6. Camp Fire victim: PG&E told her it needed to fix sparking transmission line day before deadly blaze - The Mercury News

PULGA - The day before firefighter radio transmissions revealed a malfunctioning PG&E power line may have triggered the state's most destructive wildfire, a business owner in this tiny town near the Camp Fire's origin said she received an email from the utility alerting her that workers had to fix a sparking problem on a nearby power line.

In the email received Wednesday, the company said they'd be coming out to work on one of their nearby towers that "were having problems with sparks," said Betsy Ann Cowley, owner of Pulga, a former abandoned railroad town turned retreat popular with techies.

"This needs to become a class action lawsuit," the former Oakland resident said. (Read more)

- Father, we ask that the causes of all these fires that have erupted in this past week in the State of California be found and that those who are accountable be brought to justice. In Your Name, amen.

Focus on Israel

1. IDF readies for heavier Gaza conflict as massive missile barrage persists -Times of Israel

The Israeli military deployed additional troops and tanks to the Gaza Strip border on Monday following the largest barrage of rockets and mortar shells fired at Israel from the coastal enclave in a single day.

The army was reportedly given a green light from policymakers to pummel terror groups in the Strip if they continued with the barrages, as the terror organizations in the Strip vowed to do.

"The resistance factions' joint command center is holding a serious conversation about expanding its range of fire. Ashkelon is just the beginning. Approximately one million Zionists will be within the range of our missiles if the Zionist enemy's decision is to continue its aggression," said Abu Obeida, a spokesperson for Hamas's military wing.

2. One killed, two seriously hurt as rocket strikes Ashkelon apartment building - Times of Israel

The rocket appeared to have hit the upper floors of the four-story apartment building, leaving a gaping hole in its side.

A woman, also in her 40s, was found in serious condition near the man and was rushed to Barzilai hospital.

Unconfirmed reports in Hebrew media identified the man as a West Bank Palestinian living in Israel without documentation. The woman was identified as his wife. According to the Haaretz daily, the two were spotted by a photographer who had come to take pictures of the damage, about an hour after police and rescuers had left the building.

3. Over 300 rockets fired at Israel, soldier injured by anti-tank missile - Jerusalem Post

Israel's military struck more than 70 Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad targets across the Gaza Strip, after several heavy barrages of rockets from the coastal enclave were fired toward southern Israel, the IDF said Monday evening.

The barrage began around 4:30 p.m. after a Cornet anti-tank missile was fired toward a bus full of soldiers at the Black Arrow Memorial Site in the Sha'ar Hanegev region. A 19-year-old soldier was transferred to Soroka University Medical Center in Beersheba in critical condition after he was hit standing near the bus. No other soldiers were injured.

More than 300 rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip toward southern Israeli communities, as well as the Dead Sea and the West Bank's Hebron Hills.

The army stated that some 60 rockets had been intercepted by the Iron Dome missile defense system, but others hit inside the cities of Ashkelon, Sderot and the communities of Ofakim and Netivot, causing severe damage but only light injuries.

4. IDF strikes Hamas' intelligence headquarters - Israel National News

The IDF continues its wide-scale attack against military targets throughout the Gaza Strip.

On Monday night, IDF fighter jets struck Hamas' military intelligence headquarters. The high rise building is located in the Al-Farqan neighborhood of the northern Gaza Strip and serves Hamas' intelligence operatives for intelligence gathering against the State of Israel.

The building that was struck is a key strategic terror target- Hamas' military intelligence unit operated from this building, which is located in the center of a populated area and adjacent to a school. The military intelligence unit gathers information and conducts research, while providing the senior officials of Hamas' military wing with updated intelligence assessments.

5. PA silently seizing huge tracts of Israel's heartland - World Israel News

A report released last week exposes the depth and breadth of the Palestinian Authority's plan to silently seize Israeli land. The plan, whose purpose is to bring these lands under Palestinian control, is fueled by European Union (EU) funding.

The report was put out by Regavim, an Israeli NGO that deals primarily with land issues. It conducts field surveys and documents the illegality of Palestinian land-grabs. The group has petitioned the courts many times to demand that the state perform its duty and enforce the land-use laws equally to all. According to the report, Israel's government has been lax in doing so.

Since 2009, Palestinians have been building in Area C, the area in question which under the Oslo Accords falls completely within Israeli sovereignty. Their goal was to add to Areas A and B, which they either fully or partially control. But in 2013, they switched gears, the report says, from illegal construction to grabbing agricultural land. They did so as it is a faster method to take large areas at once. The EU makes this possible by bestowing millions of euros on the Palestinian Authority in the guise of "humanitarian aid" and "farming assistance."

1. Dem-leaning Palm Beach County says it likely won't make recount deadline in Florida governor, Senate races - Fox News

The supervisor of elections in Florida's heavily Democratic Palm Beach County said Sunday that she did not believe her department would meet a Thursday deadline to complete recounts in the Sunshine State's historically tight gubernatorial and Senate races, threatening to further confuse an increasingly chaotic and politically fraught process.

The supervisor, Susan Bucher, told reporters that she did not expect to meet the deadline due to aging equipment. Florida Department of State spokeswoman Sarah Revell told Fox News that under state law, if a county does not submit their results by the deadline, then the results on file at the time take their place. Revell added that Florida's Secretary of State has no authority to grant extensions.

"Supervisors of Elections are independent officials and they are responsible for deciding when to upgrade or modernize their equipment," Revell added.

The recount in most other major population centers, including Miami-Dade and Pinellas and Hillsborough counties in the Tampa Bay area, were taking place without incident on Sunday. Smaller counties are expected to begin their reviews Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday.

Bucher spoke hours after the campaign of Republican Senate candidate Rick Scott -- which secured an early legal victory against Democratic-leaning Broward County officials over the weekend -- went back to court with a fresh salvo of emergency complaints against both Broward and Palm Beach counties. One complaint requests that state sheriff's officers "impound and secure all voting machines, tallying devices and ballots when they are not in use until the conclusion of the recount." (Read more)

- Lord Jesus, You see all that is transpiring. We pray against the plans of the enemy to sow discord and dysfunction in the election.

2. Palm Beach Elections Observer Witnesses Infractions - Then Was Threatened With Expulsion For Speaking Out - Gateway Pundit

Author and conservative commentator, Dr. Gina Loudon said her husband, John Loudon, a former State Senator for Missouri, spent the entire night from midnight to 8 AM in Palm Beach County watching the Democrats steal the Florida election.

John Loudon witnessed thousands of ballots not counted then moved, unsecured out of view of observers to be filled out later by unknown people. Even more shocking, John Loudon witnessed clerks coming in and out of a back door where there were trucks at an unsecured rear dock. When Mr. Loudon called out the infraction to the SOE, she threatened to throw him and other Republicans out of the facility. Mr. Loudon recorded everything and signed affidavits. (Read more)

3. Judge rejects bid to impound Florida voting machines - WND

With a gubernatorial and a U.S. Senate election at stake, a circuit court judge on Monday rejected outgoing Florida Gov. Rick Scott's request for the state to "impound and secure" all voting machines in elections headquarters of the Democratic stronghold Broward County when they're not being used to recount ballots.

Scott filed suit Sunday accusing the county's elections supervisor, Brenda Snipes, of repeatedly failing to account for the number of ballots left to be counted and failing to report results regularly as required by law.

In Palm Beach County on Monday, the supervisor of elections supervisor, Susan Boucher, said she doesn't believe her department will be able to meet the state's Thursday deadline to complete the recount.

President Trump weighed in with a tweet Monday, saying, "An honest vote count is no longer possible" in Florida. Trump said election-night results showing Scott and De Santis leading should be used to determine the winner. The president alleged "new ballots showed up out of nowhere, and many ballots are missing or forged." (Read more)

- Lord God, we ask that this ruling be reversed in a higher court of law. Let the voters in the State of Florida be honored with the true tally of their votes. In Your Name, amen.

4. Breaking! Republican Martha McSally concedes Arizona Senate race to Democrat Kyrsten Sinema - Fox News

Republican U.S. Rep. Martha McSally conceded Arizona's U.S. Senate race to Democratic Congresswoman Kyrsten Sinema on Monday after the latest vote count showed McSally trailing by more than 38,000 votes out of more than 2.2 million ballots cast.

"Congrats to @kyrstensinema. I wish her success," McSally tweeted from her official campaign account. "I'm grateful to all those who supported me in this journey. I'm inspired by Arizonans' spirit and our state's best days are ahead of us."

"As long as I've served Arizona, I've worked to help others see our common humanity & find common ground," Sinema tweeted soon after McSally conceded. "That's the same approach I'll take to representing our great state in the Senate, where I'll be an independent voice for all Arizonans. "Thank you, Arizona. Let's get to work." (Read more)

5. Schumer threatens adding Mueller protections to spending bill if Whitaker doesn't recuse himself - Fox news

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., said that if Acting Attorney General Matt Whitaker does not recuse himself from oversight of Special Counsel Robert Mueller's Russia probe, then Democrats will seek to tie protections for the investigation into the spending bill.

"We Democrats, House and Senate, will attempt to add to must-pass legislation, in this case the spending bill, legislation that would prevent Mr. Whitaker from interfering with the Mueller investigation" should Whitaker not recuse, Schumer said Sunday during an appearance on CNN's "State of the Union."

Schumer said he was concerned about the past statements Whitaker made as a commentator on CNN about the investigation. Whitaker has argued that cutting Mueller's budget would be a way to end the probe, that investigating President Trump's finances would be a "red line" and that he believes there was "no collusion" between Russia and the Trump campaign. (Read more)

- Lord we take authority over this blatant attempt to intimidate the Acting Attorney General. We bind this action, and loose Your Holy Spirit against it.

6. Dems to probe Trump's treatment of CNN, Amazon, Washington Post in triple-threaded abuse-of-power inquiries - Fox News

The incoming chairman of the House Intelligence Committee this week said that when the new Congress is seated in January, Democrats plan to scrutinize whether President Trump abused his authority by taking adverse action against retail giant Amazon and two of his bitter left-leaning media rivals: CNN and The Washington Post.

Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., said in an interview with "Axios on HBO" that he and his colleagues will employ committee subpoena powers -- which are backed by the legal threat of contempt of Congress -- to conduct the triple-threaded inquiry into Trump's possible use of the "instruments of state power to punish the press."

Specifically, Schiff charged that Trump "was secretly meeting with the postmaster [general] in an effort to browbeat" her into "raising postal rates on Amazon," whose founder and CEO, Jeff Bezos, separately owns The Washington Post.

"This appears to be an effort by the president to use the instruments of state power to punish Jeff Bezos and The Washington Post," Schiff said in the interview.(Read more)

- Father, the only abuse of power has been with the media, in an attempt to manipulate the American people. We ask that truth be shown in ways that even Democrats can see.

7. House Democrats reportedly preparing 'subpoena cannon' for Trump-related probes - Fox News

The subpoenas are coming.

Democrats, fresh off winning back control of the House last week, are preparing widespread investigations into President Trump's life and work, as the president says he's adopting a "warlike posture" in anticipation of the probes.

Those investigations could cover everything from Trump's ousting of Attorney General Jeff Sessions last week to Trump's past tax returns as a businessman to the findings of the Robert Mueller investigation of the 2016 election to Trump's relationship with adult film star Stormy Daniels.

One senior Democratic source on Monday told the news site Axios, which published 85 potential Trump-related targets, they are preparing a "subpoena cannon" for when the new Congress is seated in January. It's the latest indication that Democrats plan to aggressively take advantage of their new majority, as they regain the power to open a slew of investigations into the White House and the president himself.

Since last week's midterms, Trump has fired a warning shot at Democrats, declaring he would turn the tables and leverage his party's Senate majority to investigate Democrats if they go that route. "I think I'm better at that game than they are, actually, but we'll find out," the president said at a post-election news conference. (Read more)
- Lord, we pray Your mighty protection over President Trump, as he attempts to accomplish anything after the elections. We ask that You make a way where there seems no way.

8. First for Florida: Voters elect all-LGBT City Commission in Wilton Manors - Sun-Sentinel

Wilton Manors, the unofficial LGBT capital of South Florida, has an all-LGBT City Commission after Tuesday's election.

It's the first Florida city with an all-LGBT city commission - and it's only the second in the country. The other is Palm Springs, Calif.

Before the election, the Victory Fund, a national organization that works to increase the number of elected lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender elected officials, urged Wilton Manors voters to make history with their votes.

"LGBTQ people are severely under-represented at every level of government, so to have an all-LGBTQ city commission and an LGBTQ mayor in Wilton Manors would be an exciting moment, especially given the strong LGBTQ community there," Sean Meloy, the organization's political director, said in a pre-election statement. 9. Producer: Guns portrayed in good light gets 'R' rating - WND

It has no nudity.
No profanity.
No sex, no gore, no torture.
There's no glamorized violence.

Yet "The Reliant," a faith-based movie about life, values and the threat of anarchy in the world, has been given an R rating from the Motion Picture Association of America.

Now J.P. Johnston, a writer and producer for the film that stars Kevin Sorbo (Hercules), Brian Bosworth (The Longest Yard), Eric Roberts (The Dark Knight), the Benham brothers (War Room) and Mollee Gray (High School Musical), is offering an explanation for why the powers of Hollywood are resorting to censorship.

"If you can't compete in the marketplace of ideas, censorship is how you win. The powerful media monopolies conspire to muzzle the ideals of faith and liberty in the public square because only in a vacuum of truth and light can their insanity survive," Johnston said in a commentary. (Read more)

10. French President Emmanuel Macron: 'Nationalism is Treason - Breitbart

French President Emmanuel Macron denounced nationalism during an Armistice Day centennial observance in Paris on Sunday.

"Patriotism is the exact opposite of nationalism: Nationalism is treason," Macron said, according to a Euronews translator.

Macron spoke in front of world leaders including President Donald Trump, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and German Chancellor Angela Merkel. If we think our interests may only come first and we don't care for others, it is a treason of our values, a betrayal of all moral values," he said. "We must remember this."

Macron said that the moral values of France helped them fight for the future of their country. He praised the world leaders that formed the first League of Nations, after World War I.

"They imagined the first international corporation, the dismantling of empires, and redefined borders, and dreamed at the time of a union, a political union of Europe," Macron said. (Read more)

French police on Sunday stopped two topless protesters who approached the motorcade of US President Donald Trump as he made his way to a ceremony in Paris marking 100 years since the end of World War I.

12. US and North Korea suffer communication breakdown - BBC

Remember when Donald Trump said he and Kim Jong-un fell in love? Well now it seems they just don't talk anymore.

Instead, the US and North Korea appear to be staring one another down, waiting for the other to blink or make a move. And neither appears willing to give way. Discussions aimed at setting up a second summit between the two leaders didn't happen as planned this week.

Chairman Kim's aide, the hardliner Kim Yong-chol was supposed to travel to New York and meet US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

But the BBC understands that the meeting was cancelled after the State Department discovered that the North Koreans didn't get on the plane as planned. The official line is that the meeting will be rescheduled and Mr Trump said he's "very happy" with how things are going, and that he's in "no rush" while sanctions remain in place. (Read more)

Prophetic moral tenacity

To be an American Christian, you have to be tough. You have to have moral tenacity-never backing down from the belief that the Messiah is the way, the truth and the life. It is foundational to your faith. It must remain as the hub of your worldview no matter how difficult things become. There are dark days ahead for this country. The pummeling Christian values take in the news media and by certain groups of ideological bigots espousing political intolerance is only going to get worse. The flames of visceral hatred against all things of the God of the Bible are a burning infernal that will continue to burn. This is the result of radical leftists being emboldened by election victories in highly populated New York and California.

Likely House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) told volunteers at a recent gathering, "I don't mind when they say things about me like I'm a liberal. I like that. But when they say San Francisco liberal, as if to make it sound like it's something negative, them's fightin' words. Don't attack my city. Don't attack my city. But, San Francisco values, that's what we're about. The city of Saint Francis, the city whose anthem is the song of Saint Francis, make us an instrument of thy peace." St. Francis may have rolled over in his grave at those words. While there are many God-fearing people in San Francisco, the liberal values Pelosi embraces include radical immoral lifestyles, lawlessness, homelessness, high taxes, abortion, defecating in the streets and other extraordinary unseemliness.

Recent exit polls indicate that those who attend religious services are more likely to support Republicans over Democrats. Those who do not attend religious services are more likely to support Democrats over Republicans. While there is much to disagree with both political parties, the fact is that the leadership and platform of the Democratic Party support ideals that are counter to the Holy Scriptures, ranging from lawlessness to abortion to Biblically-immoral lifestyles to enemies of Jews and Christians. Republican leadership at least pays lip service to, and in many cases, supports Biblical values. A CNN poll, for example, indicated that 68% of those who never attend church services voted Democratic. An AP VoteCast poll affirmed the CNN results, and indicated that 61% of those who attend church at least once a week voted Republican.

Breitbart News reports that "the most recent voter data confirms polls following previous elections showing that the more religious a voter, the more likely they will support a Republican candidate, while the less religious will overwhelmingly tend to vote Democrat." This divide is deep because light has no fellowship with darkness. But do not despair. Be tenacious as a prophetic people. 2 Timothy 1:7 says, "For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." Christ warned that because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. Be encouraged no matter the visceral and hate. Be that chosen generation, that royal priesthood, that holy nation, that people for his own; that you should show forth the praises of him who has called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.

Trump admin issues rules protecting conscience rights against abortion, contraception insurance

The Trump administration announced Wednesday the release of two final rules to protect Americans from being forced to subsidize abortion in government-mandated health insurance plans.

Interim versions of the rules were released last year, according to a press release from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). They create an exemption from Obamacare's mandate that employer-provided health insurance plans cover various types of contraception, including methods that function by killing an already-conceived embryonic human.

One of the rules covers conscience objections on the basis of "sincerely held religious beliefs," while the other protects small businesses and nonprofits with non-religious moral objections. The exemptions do not extend to government entities. The religious exemption extends to publicly-traded businesses, but the non-religious exemption does not.

An accompanying fact sheet explains that the new rules also protect churches, integrated auxiliaries, religious orders, non-governmental educational institutions, various other types of non-governmental employees with religious objections, health insurance issuers that serve exempted individuals or plan sponsors, and individuals covered by either employer-based insurance or individual plans.

Also on Wednesday, HHS proposed a rule requiring Obamacare plans that cover abortion to send customers a separate invoice for the abortion portion of their monthly premiums, Bloomberg reports.
The president teased Wednesday that he has a "solution" that "nobody else does" on how to handle abortion in a split Congress, but offered no details because "it is an issue that is a very divisive, polarizing issue."

"I'm just going to push, I've been pushing," he promised in response to a question about continuing to advance the pro-life agenda over the next two years. Barring the advent of some as-yet unknown legislative gambit, regulation changes and new judges will be critical to that push.

"March for Life applauds the Trump Administration's final rule released this afternoon, 'Moral Exemptions and Accommodations for Coverage of Certain Preventive Services Under the Affordable Care Act,'" March for Life president Jeanne Mancini said in response to the new rules. (Read more)
- Father God, we applaud this new rule, too. We praise the Lord for this action FOR LIFE by President Trump. Amen!

A Personal Message from a Friend in California

Dear Sara,

I listen to the updates for the Camp Fire every evening and have discerned that the 2 biggest prayer needs outside the obvious are for the firefighters and other personnel and for patience for the people who have been displaced. The fires are going on so long that the firefighters are emotionally and physically tired. Probably a lot of them were up here in Redding 2months for the Carr, Delta and Hirz Fires. In the past they would go to fires and be home in a couple of weeks. Now the fires are going on and on and they are working long hours for weeks into months.

The areas have to be made safe. There are power lines down. There is a lot of hazardous waste that has to be cleared--we are a people who use a lot of plastic and other things in our lives and building materials. There is also the issue of the people who did not make it out--as of today that number is 42. Remains have to be recovered and they have to make sure they have gotten them all so they can't let the residents back in. They have brought in 10 anthropologic forensic teams from all over the state and a special DNA trailer to identify the remains because there is not much left of them. They are now bringing in cadaver dogs who can sniff out human ashes.
That is just a nutshell picture. I still meet people every week who lost there homes up here in July/August.

Thank you for your prayers.

Margaret C.,

Redding, California

Classic Hymns

THERE IS A BALM IN GILEAD

"On hearing this, Jesus said, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor,
but the sick."
 (Matthew 9:12)

Lyrics

Some times I feel discouraged,
And think my work's in vain,
But then the Holy Spirit
Revives my soul again.

(Refrain)

Refrain

There is a balm in Gilead
To make the wounded whole;
There is a balm in Gilead
To heal the sin-sick soul.

If you cannot sing like angels,
If you can't preach like Paul,
You can tell the love of Jesus,
And say He died for all.

(Refrain)
