Focus on Syria

Focus on Syria

Saints of God,

These days, Syria is becoming a powder keg, and some are now saying openly that, unless there is an easing of the tensions in that area, this situation could well end up moving the nations into World War III.

IT IS TIME TO PRAY FOR SYRIA.

For all headlines below, please agree with us in prayer, as follows. Thank you.

- Father, we pray protection and deliverance for the people of Syria. May these escalated attacks actually hasten peace and remove ISIS from the civilian population.

Lord, Aleppo has been in the crosshairs of all the nations involved in the Syrian conflict for some time. We pray that You will release mercy and peace in the natural realm, and peace for the people through Christ. In Your Name, amen.

- "Rescue me, O Lord, from evil men; preserve me from violent men who devise evil things in their hearts; they continually stir up wars." (Psalm 140:1-2)

- "Mercy and peace have met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other. Truth shall spring out of the earth." (Psalm 85:10,11a)

1. 'Hell itself': Aleppo reels from alleged use of bunker-buster bombs - The Guardian

The roar of the explosion was unlike anything Abdulkafi al-Hamdo had heard before. Stones from a kilometre away fell in front of the home where the teacher had taken shelter with his wife and seven-month-old daughter. Arriving at the scene in the early afternoon on Friday, he took in the destruction of the Mashhad neighbourhood of eastern Aleppo, and the crater left following the bomb. It was the first time, the opposition claimed, that they had documented the use of bunker buster bombs in Syria's second city. (Read more)

2. Syrian troops advance in Aleppo amid war's heaviest bombing - Times of Israel

Syrian troops captured a rebel-held area on the edge of Aleppo on Saturday, tightening their siege on opposition-held neighborhoods in the northern city after what residents described as the heaviest air bombardment of the 5 ½-year civil war.

The UN meanwhile said that nearly 2 million people in Aleppo, Syria's largest city and onetime commercial center, are without running water following the escalation in fighting over the past few days.

The UN Security Council called an emergency meeting for Sunday morning to discuss the escalating attacks. Government forces captured the rebel-held Palestinian refugee camp of Handarat as airstrikes pounded rebel-held eastern neighborhoods of Aleppo, killing 52 people, including 11 children and six women, according to the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. The Local Coordination Committees, another monitoring group, said 49 were killed on Saturday alone. (Read more)

3. Syria says Israeli 'terrorism' threatens entire region - Times of Israel

Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Muallem on Saturday condemned Israel's strikes in southern Syria, saying the IDF's "aggressive policies do not only threaten Syria but the whole region."

Speaking before the United Nations General Assembly, Muallem said the Syrian state was dealing not only with "mercenary terrorists on its territory" in its five-year civil war, but also "has long confronted a different kind of terrorism; the terrorism of Israel that has occupied a precious part of our land in the Syrian Golan since 4 June 1967."

Israel's "oppressive and aggressive practices," he said, "are no longer confined to the Occupied Golan, and are currently affecting the security and life of Syrians in the southern part of the country." (Read more)

4. 'Syrian Army forces pour into area near Israel border, prepare operation' - Jerusalem Post

The Syrian army has sent additional forces to the city of Quneitra, on Syria's south west border, close to Israel's border. A source reportedly told Fars, "A large contingent of the fourth mechanized divisions, comprised of recent graduates from the Syrian Arab Army's Special Forces school . . . have joined the 90th Brigade's headquarters in Golan Heights, where they will await orders to launch a large-scale offensive." 5. Kremlin: Russia retains hope for Syria solution - AP

The spokesman for Russian President Vladimir Putin says the troubled cease-fire in Syria is ineffective, but that Moscow is not losing hope for a political solution to the country's crisis.

However, Dmitry Peskov told reporters Monday that the Kremlin is concerned that "terrorists are using the cease-fire regime to regroup, to replenish their arsenals and for obvious preparations to carry out attacks." (Read more)

6. 'Russia and US tensions over Syria dangerous for Israel' - Jerusalem Post

The escalation in rhetoric between Russia and the United States over Syria's Civil War is creating a dangerous situation for Israel, former Israeli envoy to the United Nations Ron Prosor told Army Radio on Monday.

"We have here a dangerous situation. It is dangerous, by the way, also to [Israel], because we find ourselves right in the middle," Prosor said. "We coordinate with Russia, and the Americans are an important strategic asset for us."

Prosor said that a conflict between the Americans and Russians could create "a very uncomfortable reality" for Israel. (Read more)

7. UN Takes No Action on Syria After Arguments Erupt Over Aleppo, Western Ambassadors Walk Out - NBC News

Even as dozens more died in Aleppo, Syria, an emergency session of the U.N. Security Council in New York City ended with no action having been taken as Russia clashed openly with representatives from the United States, Britain and France.

All three Western powers heaped blame Sunday on Moscow for supporting the offensive by its close ally, Syrian President Bashar Assad. And when Syrian Ambassador Bashar Ja'afari was called to speak, all three ambassadors walked out of the council chamber in protest.

"What Russia is sponsoring and doing is not counterterrorism. It is barbarism," Samantha Power, the U.S. ambassador, told the 15-member council earlier in the day. (Read more)

8. Fresh airstrikes pound Syria's Aleppo after war of words in UN - Times of Israel

ALEPPO, Syria - Warplanes again pounded rebel-held areas of Syria's Aleppo on Monday as residents warned of increasing shortages of food and medicine, a day after Western powers accused Syrian and Russia of possible war crimes but failed to take decisive action at the UN.

An AFP correspondent in the battered city said a wave of strikes hit areas of the opposition-controlled east of the city from dawn, in particular the Al-Mashhad and Sayf al-Dawla districts, sparking large fires.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a Britain-based monitor, said "dozens of raids" had hit districts of east Aleppo after midnight on Sunday, with many wounded and at least two civilians killed.

It was the fourth day of intense air raids on the city since a defiant Syrian regime launched a new assault to retake all of Aleppo following the collapse of a short-lived ceasefire brokered by Russia and the United States. (Read more)

9. Smashing Islamic State Could Unleash New Terror Threat - Voice of America

Success in the battle against Middle East insurgents, such as the Islamic State group and al-Qaida affiliates, is going to lead to a new challenge, diplomats and intelligence officials are warning.

Destroying the strongholds of the groups will mean thousands of hardline fundamentalist militants, mostly from IS (the group also known as ISIS, ISIL or Daesh), may return to their home countries from Syria and Iraq and carry out terrorist attacks, U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Tony Blinken and other diplomats warned Wednesday at a meeting of the Global Counterterrorism Forum (GCTF). 10. Will Upcoming Fight in Syria Usher in Armageddon? - Voice of America

There's a small town in Syria where ancient Islamic prophecies say a fierce battle will bring about the end of days, and Turkish troops, U.S. military advisers and vetted Syrian opposition fighters appear to be heading straight for it.

Dozens of U.S. special forces are advising Turkish troops and Syrian opposition forces as they push farther into Syria, specifically into an area that includes the town of Dabiq, defense officials told VOA on Wednesday.

According to early Muslim prophecies, Armageddon will be ushered in with a major Muslim victory against "Romans" in either Dabiq, less than 15 kilometers from the Turkish border, or al-Amaq, another town near Syria's border with Turkey.

Islamic State has interpreted this "Roman" army to be coalition and coalition-backed forces. (Read more)

1. Israeli official: Gaza underground wall to be done in months - Fox News

BEERSHEBA, Israel - A senior Israeli military official says a massive underground barrier being built along the Gaza border to defend against Hamas tunnels should be completed in a matter of months. The Southern Command official said Sunday that the structure will include a wall deep below the ground as well as flooding parts of the roughly 60-kilometer (40-mile) border. The official, speaking on condition of anonymity under military briefing regulations, says the goal is to turn Hamas' underground network into a "death trap." (Read more)

Dr. Faiz Abu Shamala, one of the prominent Palestinian journalists at Hamas' official newspaper, Falastin has challenged the PLO's ability to lead and represent the Palestinian Arabs. "How can we believe that the PLO is the only legitimate face of the millions of Palestinians that live in Jordan and have Jordanian passports," Shamala wrote. Abu Shamalah added that "with what happened to the Palestinians that live in Jordan and carry Jordanian passports, how can the PLO call itself a legitimate representative?" (Read more)

Sheikh Omar Abu Sara delivered the sermon at the Al-Aqsa Mosque, located on the Temple Mount in the capital, on November 28, 2014. 5. Israel almost entirely halts citizenship approvals for East Jerusalemites - Times of Israel

About seven years ago, Sufyan Dabash applied to be a citizen of his country of birth, Israel. His application was rejected. The 37-year-old taxi cab driver - a lifelong resident of the Sur Baher village on the southeastern outskirts of Jerusalem - couldn't prove he was a Jerusalemite.

"I have no citizenship. I have nothing," he recently told The Times of Israel. "I want to feel like I'm from here. I don't want to feel like I'm a second-class citizen."

Since Israel captured East Jerusalem in 1967, it has formally offered residents living in that area the option to apply for Israeli citizenship. Until around a decade ago, very few did, as the vast majority identified, and still do identify, as Palestinian. Recent years, however, have seen a surge in the number of Palestinians seeking Israeli citizenship. But Israel, which in the decade from 2003 to 2013 denied or delayed about half of the citizenship applications by East Jerusalemites, has more recently been failing to accept almost all of them, The Times of Israel has established.

8. Sanhedrin Revives 2,000-Year-Old Blessing for Counting of Jubilee Year - Breaking Israel News

Amidst the shofar blasts, this Rosh Hashana will include a mitzvah (Biblical commandment) that hasn't been performed by the Jews in almost 2,000 years: counting the Jubilee. It is a simple mitzvah, reciting just a few lines, but performing this mitzvah is a declaration that the prophesied return of the Jews to Israel has been fulfilled, thereby establishing a basis for the rebuilding of the Jewish Temple.

Unbeknownst to all but a few witnesses, as Rosh Hashana ended eleven months ago, the nascent Sanhedrin concluded months of deliberation by ruling that certain conditions had been met requiring the Nation of Israel to begin counting the Jubilee cycle. Rabbi Avraham Dov Ben Shor recited the blessing and the 49-year cycle began again.

When Rosh Hashana - the Jewish New Year - ends next Tuesday evening, it will be time for Jews to count the second year of the Jubilee cycle. (Read more)

Please note:
Every prayer below is presented to our Lord in the Name of Jesus Christ, amen.

1. Ahead of debate, Trump endorsed by U.S. immigration officers - Reuters

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump picked up the endorsement on Monday of the union representing 5,000 federal immigration officers, a boost of support for his immigration policy ahead of his first debate with Democrat Hillary Clinton.

With immigration likely to be discussed at the debate, the National Immigration and Customs Enforcement Council, a union representing 5,000 federal immigration officers and law enforcement support staff, announced it would support Trump, in what was described as its first endorsement of a candidate for elected office.

The union's president, Chris Crane, outlined in a statement why his group is backing Trump, saying his union members are "the last line of defense for American communities" and that his members "are prevented from enforcing the most basic immigration laws." (Read more)

- Lord God, as this campaign rolls on, we ask for Your perfect will to be done in the lives and in the campaigns of both candidates who are running for office. May our voters see and discern truth from error, and then vote accordingly. We ask this in Your name, amen.

- "I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you." (Psalm 32:8)

2. New Jersey Bomber's Notebook: 'Attack the Kuffar in Their Backyard'- Breitbart

Ahmad Khan Rahami, the man believed responsible for a series of bombings in New York and New Jersey, was carrying on his person a notebook filled with radical Islamic invective referencing multiple jihadi attacks and terrorism-linked clerics.

In the notebook, Rahami accuses the American government of triggering a war on U.S. soil and favorably references Al Qaeda preacher Anwar al-Awlaki, chief terrorist Osama bin Laden, and terrorists who have acted in the United States, such as Fort Hood jihadi Nidal Hassan.

"You (USA government) continue your slaughter against mujahideen be it Afhanistan, Iraq, Sham, Palestine, etc," Rahami writes, using the preferred term of Syria among Sunni jihadis. "Brother Osama bin Laden offered you a truce," he writes. "You should of let us meet death overseas. You wanted it this way so you will have it this way." (Read more)

- Gracious and loving Heavenly Father, we cry out to You, as we see these terror attacks happening more frequently on our land. Mr. Rahami believes that those in America who do not practice or believe in Islam should become victims of terrorist attacks. How tragic is this frame of mind control!

This young terrorist did not die as he had planned, as a suicidal jihadist. Instead -- praise God -- he is still alive! We pray that he finds the God that we serve, who has such a different plan and purpose for his life here on earth and in the eternity to come.

We thank You that it is written, "Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame," and that "I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly." (Rom. 10:11 and John 10:10) Abba, we ask for his life now, in Your name, amen.

- "But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you . . ." (Matthew 5:44)

3. Leaked FBI Data Reveal 7,700 Terrorist Encounters in USA in One Year; Border States Most Targeted - Breitbart

Leaked documents with sensitive FBI data exclusively obtained by Breitbart Texas reveal that 7,712 terrorist encounters occurred within the United States in one year and that many of those encounters occurred near the U.S.-Mexico border.

The incidents are characterized as "Known or Suspected Terrorist Encounters." Some of the encounters occurred near the U.S.-Mexico border at ports-of-entry and some occurred in between, indicating that persons known or reasonably suspected of being terrorists attempted to sneak into the U.S. across the border. In all, the encounters occurred in higher numbers in border states. (Read more)

- Lord, why is it that every time the American people learn news that is destructive to our country, it has to be leaked to us? Wake up America and read and investigate what is going on that we are not being told! This leaked data from the FBI of 7,700 terrorist encounters in the US is scary, without divine intervention.

We call forth everything that is hidden to now be uncovered and brought into the light. Father, You know where the terrorists are and we ask You to uncover them before they cause harm in America. Forgive those who are hiding this information because they certainly can't know what they are doing. Secure our borders Lord, we pray.

As we cry out and repent before Your Throne of Grace, we ask that You post Your angel armies in our states to stop these evil ones before they cross our borders. Lord Jesus, let all wickedness be shaken from the US as we look unto You for our protection. In Your Name, amen.

- "The Lord is righteous: he has cut in pieces the cords of the wicked." (Psalm 129:4)

4. FBI: Violent crime across US spiked in 2015, murders up nearly 11 percent - Fox News

Violent crime across the U.S. jumped in 2015 after two years of declines, the FBI announced Monday, adding that the number of murders reported by local law enforcement agencies was up 10.8 percent from 2014.

"We still have so much work to do," Attorney General Loretta Lynch responded at an event in Little Rock, Ark. Many major cities, including Chicago, Baltimore and St. Louis, have struggled to restore trust between police and communities in the wake of officer-involved shootings and the Black Lives Matter movement.

Violent crime overall rose by 3.9 percent, the data showed. While up from 2014, it was still down from 2011 and 2006, the FBI reported. The murder rate for U.S. metropolitan areas was slightly higher compared to the rest of the country. (Read more)

- Father, You give us governing officials to help us lead peaceful lives. We pray for our leaders to make the right decisions and do their jobs well.

- I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. (1 Timothy 2:1-2)

5. Sen. Sessions: 'A Wise Statesman Would Have Seen the Danger in Syria' - CNSNews.com

Five years after President Obama announced that "the time has come for President Assad to step aside," Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Joseph Dunford told the Senate Armed Services Committee on Thursday that he does not expect the Syrian president to leave power any time soon.

Meanwhile, U.S. efforts to arrange a pause in Syria's civil war fell apart, even as Dunford and Defense Secretary Ashton Carter addressed the committee.

At Thursday's hearing, Sen. Jeff Sessions called the situation in Syria a "colossal disaster" that a "wise statesman" would have foreseen.

"We've got to be more realistic in our foreign policy," Sessions continued. "We've got to know what we can do to affect positively the world, and what we cannot do. And we're not able to ensure democratic government throughout this region of the world, and we're now facing a colossal humanitarian disaster, and it's been bubbling for a number of years, and there's no easy solution to get out of it. I wish it were, but there's not."(Read more)

- Father God, we ask that, as the voters of this nation go to the polls this November, each one would pause and consider the impact that the failed policies of Barack Hussein Obama have had upon our nation and others. May we all heed these wise words of counsel from Senator Jeff Sessions, and vote accordingly, in Your name, amen.

- "The prudent see danger and take refuge, but the simple keep going and pay the penalty." (Proverbs 22:3)

6. East China Sea: Japan scrambles jets as China flies fleet near disputed islands - CNN

Japan scrambled fighter jets Sunday after China flew a fleet of aircraft near contested islands in the East China Sea. Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga said that the jets were sent up after eight Chinese military planes crossed between Okinawa and the Miyako islands near Taiwan. He said that two of the aircraft were thought to be fighter jets. (Read more)

- Here we go again, Lord Jesus. We know Your word says that You never sleep but are always watching for evil. China is again flexing its muscles against Japan and the area of the islands near Taiwan. Both countries claim ownership of the area but we know that this cannot be.

Lord God, reveal the truth of why Chinese war planes were flying in the area near Japan even though they did not come into Japan's airspace.

Right now, Father, we are standing on the promises of Your Word that You will never leave us nor forsake us! We praise You and give You all the glory!!!!

- "Pride goeth before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall." (Proverbs 16:18)

7. India begins campaign at United Nations to isolate Pakistan - Reuters

India began a campaign to isolate Pakistan at the United Nations on Monday, telling the 193-member General Assembly it was time to identify nations who nurture, peddle and export terrorism and isolate them if they don't join the global fight.

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said the arrest of Pakistani Bahadur Ali was "living proof of Pakistan's complicity in crossborder terror." India has said Ali confessed that he was trained by the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) militant group. (Read more)

- Father God, it is clear India has had enough of her bad neighbor. Give India's leaders wisdom as they move forward with concrete steps to protect their people. We lift up the nations of India and Pakistan to You and we ask for these nations to come under the Lordship of the Prince of Peace, Jesus.

- Ask of Me, and I will surely give the nations as Your inheritance, and the very ends of the earth as Your possession. (Psalm 2:8)

8. Pakistan says India risks 'self-destructive war' by escalating Kashmir tensions - Washington Times

The top Pakistani official in the volatile dispute over Kashmir warned in an interview that India is dangerously escalating a war of words over the divided territory between the two nuclear-armed powers, vehemently denying that Islamabad was behind a recent attack that killed 18 soldiers at an Indian military base there. Indian rhetorical attacks are "creating war psychosis" that could spill out of control, said Sardar Masood Khan, the Islamabad-appointed president of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. "It threatens to plunge South Asia into a self-destructive war," Mr. Khan told The Washington Times in an interview Monday as concerns mounted anew that months of devolving tensions over Kashmir could result in a full-blown military clash between India and Pakistan. (Read more)

- Father, forgive these two nations for battling over the area of Kashmir. We see prideful spirits arising as threats are being thrown on both sides and we command these destructive spirits to leave, now.

Protect the people of these two nuclear regions as their governments clash over the rights of this area. Father do not let the US get into the middle of this conflict. We see that this could happen because the US already provides Islamabad major military aid. You alone know the truth, Lord, so we ask You to search them and know their ways. You always stand with the nation where truth reigns . Thank You, Jesus, as we pray, thy will be done. In Jesus name, Amen

- "You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come." (Matthew 24:6)

9. ISIS abducting children, selling them to Turkish traffickers who harvest their body parts, source says - Christian Today

Is there any crime more gruesome than this? The Islamic State (ISIS) terrorist group appears to have sunk to a deeper level of depravity following reports that it has resorted to selling the children it has kidnapped to its contacts in Turkey who then harvest organs from these children. The reports did not state whether the children end up dead. (Read more)

- Abba Father, we will never understand how someone could harm a child. This barbaric attack by ISIS to harvest these body parts is straight from the pit of hell! Dear God this unity of evil must be destroyed.

In the name of Yeshuah we take authority over this evil practice and command it to stop. Father, cut off their weapons and cause a great illness to fall upon their camps, that they not be able to carry out their wicked schemes. Destroy those who destroy Your children.

Your anger, Lord, will be ignited and Your vengeance will bring them to their knees. Jehovah God, protect these little ones from the hand of the enemy and hide them under the shelter of Your wings, in Jesus name, Amen.

- "Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: For it is written, Vengeance is mine : I will repay, saith the Lord." (Romans 12:19)

Riots are not the answer

When America faces problems, exercising freedom of speech, respectful dialogue and responsible action is the appropriate way to solve and resolve. Riots, violence and hateful actions are unacceptable. But there are those in society who want to see America changed to a communist or socialist nation. And they will manipulate people, ideas and events in order to force that change. What I have seen with the riots in Charlotte, NC, is anger based on race, hatred, and prejudice, probably agitated by those who want to destroy the nation. When people want to justify riots and violence by invoking the name of Martin Luther King, Jr., they are extremely misinformed, misled, and perhaps manipulated.

King had six steps for protesting. "Step 1: Gather Information--Learn all you can about the problems you see in your community through the media, social and civic organizations, and by talking to the people involved. Step 2: Educate Others--Armed with your new knowledge, it is your duty to help those around you, such as your neighbors, relatives, friends and co-workers, better understand the problems facing society. Build a team of people devoted to finding solutions. Be sure to include those who will be directly affected by your work. Step 3: Remain Committed--Accept that you will face many obstacles and challenges as you and your team try to change society. Agree to encourage and inspire one another along the journey.

"Step 4: Peacefully Negotiate--Talk with both sides. Go to the people in your community who are in trouble and who are deeply hurt by society's ills. Also go to those people who are contributing to the breakdown of a peaceful society. Use humor, intelligence and grace to lead to solutions that benefit the greater good. Step 5: Take Action Peacefully--This step is often used when negotiation fails to produce results, or when people need to draw broader attention to a problem. It can include tactics such as peaceful demonstrations, letter-writing and petition campaign. Step 6: Reconcile--Keep all actions and negotiations peaceful and constructive. Agree to disagree with some people and with some groups as you work to improve society. Show all involved the benefits of changing, not what they will give up by changing."

King wrote in an April 16, 1963 letter to clergy from the Birmingham jail, "One may well ask: "How can you advocate breaking some laws and obeying others?" The answer lies in the fact that there are two types of laws: just and unjust. I would be the first to advocate obeying just laws. One has not only a legal but a moral responsibility to obey just laws. Conversely, one has a moral responsibility to disobey unjust laws. I would agree with St. Augustine that "an unjust law is no law at all...How does one determine whether a law is just or unjust? A just law is a man made code that squares with the moral law or the law of God. From Esther to Shadrach to Peter there is evidence of disobeying unjust laws, Acts 5:29: "Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, "We ought to obey God rather than men.""

And the winner is . . .

It was the polished, well-rehearsed proven liar politician against the brash, organic, unpolished, non-politician who sometimes is so passionate he can't get his facts straight. So who won? In style points, poise and politico-speak, Hillary Clinton was the hands-down winner. Just ask any mainstream media analysts who babble on about birth certificates and other non-issues of this campaign trying their best to level the liar playing field that is so deeply tipped in Clinton's direction. But interestingly enough, those voting online see things differently. At the time of this writing, Donald Trump is ahead in the CNBC online poll 65-35% with 711,327 total votes; Time, Trump is winning 53-47% with 1.37 million votes.

Online voters at Drudge, the conservative news aggregator, have Trump winning 82-18% with 444,266 votes cast. There were many times during the first presidential debate where Trump missed opportunities to drive home Clinton's lifelong malfeasance, shady dealings and incompetency. He said very little about exposing our nation's secrets on her private email server. He didn't go into Benghazi at all. He didn't set the record straight on how Clinton has enriched herself with $250,000 speaking engagements and selling influence through the Clinton Foundation. Trump said his advisors told him to be nice. But he did drive home the fact that Clinton is a politician that talks a good game but gets nothing good done.

Clinton did talk a good game. She was poised, "presidential," and her answers to questions were so well rehearsed that she seemed at times like she was reading them from a teleprompter. She pressed Trump on his tax filings and essentially called him a racist by using his own comments against him. She clearly and concisely explained the difference between her and her opponent-she is a big government socialist, believing in a global foreign policy, and taxing Americans to grow the government and provide government jobs. She arrogantly scoffed at Trump often, especially making light of his points on law and order and foreign policy. She came across as a politician that knows better than the normal citizen.

Trump, while not scoring many points on style, was very organic in pointing out that big government and a continuation of the leadership that Clinton brings is bad for America. Clinton scored a lot of style points as she demonstrated how polished and super-knowledgeable she is on the issues. A couple of Bible verses to consider as you pray about this election: Ephesians 5:6, "Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things comes the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience." Matthew 7:15, "Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves." Matthew 7:20, "Wherefore by their fruits you shall know them."

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

(Excerpt)

I rest in my Father's love. The fact is, I know that I am not God and He alone is in control of all these things. I simply do what the prophet Isaiah did: He put his mind to rest by fully trusting in his Lord.

"Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee" (Isaiah 26:3).

Isaiah the prophet declared this truth to believers in every age - and God cannot lie!

Jordanian Christian Accused of Contempt of Religion Shot Before Court Hearing

A Jordanian Christian writer has been shot dead outside the court where he was to stand trial for sharing a cartoon deemed offensive to Islam, the Jordanian state news agency Petra has reported.

Nahed Hattar, a Christian and an anti-Islamist activist who was a supporter of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, was arrested on August 13 on charges of contempt of religion and inciting sectarian strife, after he shared a caricature that depicted a bearded man in heaven smoking in bed with women, asking God to bring him wine and cashews.

Authorities said he violated the law by widely sharing the caricature.

The illustration was titled "God of Daesh", using the Arabic acronym for the Islamic State group.

The 56-year-old removed the cartoon from his Facebook page and apologised for posting it after it triggered outrage on social media, with many conservative Muslim Jordanians considering it offensive and against their religion.

He said he had shared the cartoon to make fun of "terrorists and how they imagine God and heaven, and does not insult God in any way", and accused his Islamist opponents of using the cartoon to settle scores with him. (ABC.net.au) Read more.

Classic Hymns:

THE BATTLE HYMN OF THE REPUBLIC

"For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth." (2 Corinthians 13:8)

Lyrics

1. Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord; he is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored; he hath loosed the fateful lightning of his terrible swift sword; his truth is marching on.

Refrain:

Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
His truth is marching on.

2. I have seen him in the watchfires of a hundred circling camps, they have builded him an altar in the evening dews and damps; I can read his righteous sentence by the dim and flaring lamps; his day is marching on.

(Refrain)

3. He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat; he is sifting out the hearts of men before his judgment seat; O be swift, my soul, to answer him; be jubilant, my feet! Our God is marching on. (Refrain)

4. In the beauty of the lilies Christ was born across the sea, with a glory in his bosom that transfigures you and me; as he died to make men holy, let us die to make men free, while God is marching on.

(Refrain)

5. He is coming like the glory of the morning on the wave, he is wisdom to the mighty, he is honor to the brave; so the world shall be his footstool, and the soul of wrong his slave. Our God is marching on.

(Refrain)

METEOR SMASHES INTO AUSTRALIA

People left terrified as space rock causes houses to SHAKE

A METEOR has crashed into Earth triggering an earthquake after locals spotted 'burning objects in the sky'.

Locals reported feeling tremors after spotting the "burning objects" streaking across the sky and one said they saw a "big ball of fire".

There are reports a meteor, or space junk, hit near Gladstone in Queensland, Australia. The first footage of the reported object strike was captured on CCTV and shows a huge flash.

Police received multiple calls from residents who claimed their houses were shaking. Geoscience Australia has since officially ruled out an earthquake. Fire services were also called out after the flaming lights were seen streaking overhead.
A witness wrote on Facebook: "It felt like an explosion and before the house shook it was blinding light."

Another added: "My husband was putting our the garbage bins when he saw the outside of the house light up. "He turned around and saw a brilliant meteor or something flash overhead and disappeared over the sea."

One said: "I thought I was going crazy. It felt like a gush of air or pressure went through the house but all of the house is locked up."

Another said: "We heard a loud boom, I thought my son had fallen off his bed and went through the wall". (Source: The Express UK) Read more

The Good News Corner

The Late, Great Stem Cell Debate:

Why Pro-Lifers Were Right

President Bush was right . . . and so were the legions of pro-life activists who supported alternatives to embryo-destructive research. The stem cell debate didn't just fizzle out. On an important level, it was soundly won by those who insisted that medical science could advance without turning human life at its earliest stages into a disposable commodity.

Then-president George W. Bush issued a moratorium on new federal funding for this type of stem cell [embryonic], sparking outrage from across the aisle. The move was roundly condemned as "anti-scientific," and Bush was lampooned by the media, liberal politicians, and cartoonists as a peddler of dark-age superstitions. In 2009, a newly-elected President Obama immediately lifted the moratorium and poured new funding into embryonic stem cell research. Since then, countless embryos have been destroyed with taxpayer dollars, but to this day, the technology has failed to yield the miracle cures Americans were promised.

During the years since the moratorium, a different kind of stem cell-tissue-specific "somatic" or adult stem cells-have been used to successfully treat over a million-and-a-half people with conditions. (Read more)

"Make a joyful shout to the Lord, all you lands!

Serve the Lord with gladness; Come before His presence with singing.

Know that the Lord, He is God;
It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves;
We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.

Enter into His gates with thanksgiving,
And into His courts with praise.
Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.

For the Lord is good;
His mercy is everlasting,
And His truth endures to all generations."
(Psalm 100)
