1. Accept Palestine or face 'sea of hatred,' Jordanian king warns Israel - Times of Israel

ordan's King Abdullah warned Israel would find itself in "a sea of hatred" if it did not accept a Palestinian state, while also condemning Muslim terrorists from the United Nations rostrum Tuesday.

Speaking at the UN General Assembly in New York, Abdullah spoke of the importance of peace between Israel and Palestinians, blaming the ongoing conflict for continued unrest in the region.

"No injustice has spread more bitter fruit than the denial of a Palestinian state. I say: Peace is a conscious decision," the king said. "Israel has to embrace peace or eventually be engulfed in a sea of hatred in a region of turmoil." (Read more)

2. Sisi: Arab-Israeli conflict core reason for instability in the Middle East - Jerusalem Post

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi addressed the UN General Assembly on Tuesday, saying that the Arab-Israeli conflict continues to be the core reason for instability in the Middle East.

Referring to Egypt as an "anchor for stability in the Middle East," Sisi said that Egypt is working to "end the occupation" and restart negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians to reach a two-state solution.

"Egypt affirms that the hand of peace remains extended in the form the Arab Peace Initiative," Sisi said. (Read more)

3. Obama: Israel cannot 'permanently occupy, settle Palestinian land' - TImes of Israel

US President Barack Obama said on Tuesday that while the Palestinians should reject terror and incitement, Israel must recognize that it cannot "permanently occupy and settle Palestinian land."

"Surely Israelis and Palestinians will be better off if Palestinians reject incitement and recognize the legitimacy of Israel. But Israel must recognize that it cannot permanently occupy and settle Palestinian land. We all have to do better," the US president said at the 71st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. (Read more)

4. Danon slams Ban Ki-Moon for criticism of Israel during GA opening speech - Jerusalem Post

Israel's Ambassador to the United Nations Danny Danon slammed the United Nations' Secretary General Ban Ki-moon for pointing fingers at Israel during his opening address at the UN General Assembly's annual debate, which began on Tuesday.

"As a friend of both the Israeli and Palestinian peoples, it pains me that this past decade has been ten years lost to peace," Ki-Moon said in his remarks. "Ten years lost to illegal settlement expansion. Ten years lost to intra-Palestinian divide, growing polarization and hopelessness. This is madness."

The Secretary General mentioned that "the occupation grinds into its 50th year" and added that "replacing a two-state solution with a one-state construct would spell doom: denying Palestinians their freedom and rightful future, and pushing Israel further from its vision of a Jewish democracy towards greater global isolation."(Read more)

5. Netanyahu's (mildly triumphant) last goodbye to Obama - Times of Israel

On Wednesday in New York, Barack Obama will host Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for one last time as president.

You can be certain that the meeting will be friendly - albeit kind of resignedly so. These two super-articulate, super-self-confident leaders, who kept on winning elections against the odds, have long since been reconciled to the fact that they see the world differently, and that neither is going to change the other's mind. 1. How Obama is Kicking Israel on his way out of office - New York Post

When President Obama and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu meet Wednesday in New York, the usual awkwardness will likely be worse. That's because Obama has just forced Bibi to agree to cut Congress out of a basic part of US-Israel relations. (Read more)

2. Five Things Obama and Netanyahu Will Discuss at U.N. in 'Last Meeting' - Newsweek

An official in Benjamin Netanyahu's office on Monday refused to confirm the meeting between the Israeli Prime Minister and U.S. President Barack Obama on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly as the "schedule was still being worked out." But the Israeli press reported that the showdown between the frosty allies would be set for Wednesday.

There has been no love lost between the pair in their time dealing with each other in their respective positions, locking horns about a wide range of issues, seeing the relationship between the historic allies hitting its lowest ebb in recent years. It will likely be their final face-to-face meeting before Obama leaves the Oval Office in January and it will be the President's final farewell at the United Nations as American leader. (Read more)

Israel Air Force fighter jets shot down a Hamas-operated drone over the Gaza Strip on Tuesday afternoon, the IDF reported. The drone was over the Gaza coastline when the IAF took aim and brought it down.

An IDF spokesperson said that the drone had been "under IAF surveillance from the moment it took off from the Gaza Strip."

"The IDF will not permit any violation of its air space, and will act with determination against any such effort," added the military. (Read more)

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi said on Tuesday that the Arab-Israeli "continues to be the core of regional instability in the Middle East" and called for "joint efforts by the countries of the region and the international community to reach a final and comprehensive solution to the conflict."

He made the comments during his address at the UN General Assembly, during which he urged Israel to "write a bright page" in Middle East history and make peace with the Palestinian Authority (PA). (Read more)

6. Israelis warned to avoid holiday travel to Turkey, Sinai - Israel Hayom

Israelis are being urged to avoid travel to Turkey and Sinai. The Counterterrorism Bureau in the Prime Minister's Office published its updated list of travel advisories on Monday, ahead of the High Holidays, which included serious warnings against travel to the two popular vacation destinations.

The bureau stressed that this year's warnings were not new, but reflected the current security situation.

Other countries the Counterterrorism Bureau suggests Israelis avoid include Egypt and Morocco. There are also travel advisories in place for specific regions, such as the Sinai Peninsula. (Read more)

7. Trump Win Could lead Obama to back 2-state Move at UN, ex-diplomat Predicts - Times of Israel

Look what appeared in Times of Israel today. This opinion piece by Prof. Shlomo Shlomim of Hebrew Univ. lays out a step-by-step process for a UN-imposed independent Palestinian state beginning after the US elections. You will find it significant that he uses November 29, 1947 as his reference point. He also analyzes how this process leads to war rather than peace. The Daily Brief

Please note:
Every prayer below is presented to our Lord in the Name of Jesus Christ, amen.

1. Congress struggles to finish Zika aid, prevent shutdown - Ynet News

Congressional negotiators on Monday pressed to wrap up a must-do spending bill to prevent an election-season government shutdown and finally provide money to battle the threat of the Zika virus, but numerous sticking points remain. The stopgap measure would keep the government running past the end of the budget year this month. It's the only measure that has to pass before Congress adjourns for Election Day. As such, the talks have been tricky, with Republicans controlling Congress battling Democrats and the Obama administration.

A controversy involving whether Planned Parenthood should be eligible for anti-Zika funding in Puerto Rico - which sparked a Democratic blockade of an earlier measure - appears to have been defused, lawmakers and aides say. But unrelated controversies over pesticide regulations, spending cuts and limitations on how many hours long-haul truckers can drive remain unresolved.

A request by Democrats to add money to help the city of Flint, Michigan, fix its lead-tainted water system is being opposed by Republicans who want it to advance on a separate water projects measure. (Read more)

- Father the penchant for jamming bills all together for force their passage without proper review is devastating to the American economy. We pray on our knees for You to bring wisdom to Congress so that they can pass only that legislation that You have chosen.

- "For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding;" (Proverbs 2:6)

2. McConnell: Senate will delay vacation to override Obama veto - The Hill

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said Tuesday that the Senate will take up an expected veto override of legislation that lets families of 9/11 victims sue Saudi Arabia in U.S. courts before breaking for the elections.

The Senate had been expected to leave town this week, but McConnell said it was "safe to say" that the Senate would be in town next week. (Read more)

- . We thank You for the courage and the steadfastness being shown now by the Republican leadership in the Senate, so that the lawful rights of our own citizens to sue for damages will be upheld in a court of law. We thank You for bringing enough votes in both the House and in the Senate to override this wicked veto on the part of the President of the United States. In Your name, amen.

- ". . . having done all, . . . stand . . ." (Eph. 6:13)

3. GOP Mostly Powerless in Stopping Obama 'Midnight' Regulations - Roll Call

Republican lawmakers are bracing for a slew of last-minute rules and regulations, as well as more executive actions to place swaths of land under federal protection, during President Barack Obama's final months in office. "Midnight regulations" are a feature of any lame-duck administration and...In many instances, GOP members acknowledge they are powerless to stop him. (Read more)

- Father God, the present President has broken constitutional laws many times in his eight years. We plead with You, Jehovah, to take control of land being placed under federal "protection" and all other midnight regulations that may be forthcoming under the lame-duck administration's term. We are, "One nation under God". You were the God of our founding fathers, and You remain the only one true God. Thank You for hearing our prayers. Amen.

- "So God heard their groaning, and God remembered His covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob." (Exodus 2:24)

4. 88 senators urge Obama to uphold veto on 'one-sided' UN resolutions on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict - Times of Israel

On the eve of a meeting between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Barack Obama in New York Tuesday, 88 US senators penned a letter to the commander-in-chief urging him to uphold for the duration of his term the US policy of opposing "one-sided" United Nations resolutions on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and vetoing them where necessary.

In their missive commended by the American-Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) Monday, the senators say that while they are disappointed that Israeli-Palestinian peace talks are stalled, the only way to resolve the conflict is through "direct negotiations that lead to a sustainable two-state solution," echoing a stance held by Netanyahu himself.

The letter was initiated by Michael Rounds, a Republican from South Dakota, and New York Senator Kristen Gillibrand, a Democrat. (Read more)

- Father we stand on Your Word that You love the nation of Israel and bless those who bless it. We ask that You take whatever steps are necessary to protect Your people from any one-sided U.N. resolutions.

- "I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you."
(Genesis 12:3a)

5. 'Fear' hacker claims he hit hundreds of government servers - The Hill

A purported hacker known as Fear claims to have hacked hundreds of government servers used to upload and download files from the internet - a claim that's being described as a hoax.

Fear, who claims to be a teenager, said he took advantage of lax security at the company Neustar to gain access to a large number of FTP (File Transport Protocol) servers. But Neustar has pushed back, claiming the purported breach does not match files the hacker claims to have taken.

By hacking Neustar, Fear claims he gained access to the FTP accounts for every site with an address ending .us. (Read more)

- Father we ask that You would find this boy and reveal the absolute truth. We know that the government lies to cover themselves, so we pray that You will show whether this is true or not.

- "And like their bow they have bent their tongues for lies. They are not valiant for the truth on the earth." (Jeremiah 9:3)

6. More than 800 immigrants mistakenly granted citizenship - (AP)

The U.S. government has mistakenly granted citizenship to at least 858 immigrants from countries of concern to national security or with high rates of immigration fraud who had pending deportation orders, according to an internal Homeland Security audit released Monday.

The Homeland Security Department's inspector general found that the immigrants used different names or birthdates to apply for citizenship with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and such discrepancies weren't caught because their fingerprints were missing from government databases.

DHS said in an emailed statement that an initial review of these cases suggest that some of the individuals may have ultimately qualified for citizenship, and that the lack of digital fingerprint records does not necessarily mean they committed fraud. (Read more)

- Lord we pray Your Holy Protection over the people of our nation against any of these people from countries that were of "special interest" because of security concerns. We ask for You to help them fix this quickly, and prevent it from occurring again.

- "So teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom."
(Psalm 90:12)

7. Curtain rises on world's busiest diplomatic arena at UN Headquarters - un.org

As world leaders gather in New York in the coming days, the curtain will soon rise on the busiest diplomatic season of the year at the United Nations Headquarters. The high-level week will kick off with a summit, on Monday 19 September, to address large movements of refugees and migrants. This is the first time the General Assembly has called for a summit at the Heads of State and Government level on this topic and it is a historic opportunity to come up with a blueprint for a better international response.

World leaders are expected to adopt a New York Declaration as an outcome document at the summit, during which the UN will see a new addition to its family - a dedicated migration agency. Leaders of the UN and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) will sign an agreement to officially make IOM a related agency of the UN system.

IOM, an intergovernmental organization with more than 9,500 staff and 450 offices worldwide, assisted an estimated 20 million migrants in 2015. Founded in the wake of the World War II to resettle refugees from Europe, the organization celebrates its 65th anniversary in December of this year. (Read more)

- Lord, let Your watchmen be on top of this and pray as the week continues. This resolution, this idea, will not make resettlement of any genuine refugees more efficient - - it threatens to make it have a deeper agenda for the U.N. than it already has.

- "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom." (Psalm 111:10a)

8. Lebanese Insist Syrian Refugees Go Home, Now - Jewish Press

Lebanese Prime Minister Tammam Salam on Monday warned that his country was in "serious danger" to the point of facing collapse under the ongoing rush of Syrian refugees, the Daily Star reported Tuesday. Salam said the burden is straining Lebanon's already struggling economy and infrastructure, to the point where it is threatening their very stability.

Speaking in NY on the occasion of the 71st session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on the global refugee crisis, Salam said: "My country is in serious danger. What the Lebanese have done by harboring one million and a half Syrians for a population of four million is unprecedented. What the Lebanese have done by spending close to 15 billion dollars they do not have in three years to serve the displaced Syrian population is unprecedented."

Salam insisted that the UN "draft within three months a detailed logistical mapping of the return in safety and dignity of the Syrians now in Lebanon to Syria, specifying transportation needs, departure locations, and all associated costs." Salam suggested that "raising the financing required for this plan should be started immediately. This will allow, when circumstances permit, a swift implementation." (Read more)

- Lord, there is no easy way to solve this problem. We ask Your blessing over the people of Lebanon, who have provided for these Syrian refugees way beyond their own ability to do so. Lord God, we understand, too, that many of these "refugees" are really "wolves in sheep's clothing" -- terrorists in diguise, sent to other nations as hidden jihadists. We ask that Your perfect will be done in this matter, and in all situations regarding these refugees. In Your name, amen.

- "Nothing is too difficult for Thee." (Jeremiah 32:17)

9. Syria conflict: UN suspends all aid after convoy hit - BBC

The UN has suspended all aid convoys in Syria after a devastating attack on its lorries near Aleppo on Monday. The strikes, which witnesses say came from the air, came hours after Syria declared a week-old US-Russia brokered cessation of hostilities at an end.

Russia and Syria have both insisted that their forces were not involved. But UN chief Ban Ki-moon launched a stinging attack on the Syrian government, saying it had killed the most civilians in the civil war. (Read more)

- Lord, You know how much the aid is needed in Syria, and you know exactly who did this. We pray that the people will come to know You as their Provider and helper in the midst of trouble, and that You will resolve the issues that are plaguing the fighting.

- "You are the God who does wonders; You have declared Your strength among the peoples." (Psalm 77:14)

10. Putin's Bringing Back The KGB After Winning Big In Russian Elections - Daily Caller

Russian President Vladimir Putin is celebrating big wins by his party in recent parliamentary elections by placing all Russian security agencies under a next generation KGB prototype.

The new agency will reportedly be called the "MGB." The MGB will consolidate both domestic and foreign intelligence operations under the same roof, along with law enforcement jurisdiction, and authority to conduct criminal organizations. The MGB will almost exactly replicate the functions of the old KGB, the powerful state security agency in the former Soviet Union.

MGB is ominously the same name of the centralized security system under Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin from 1946-1953, analysts note. Putin himself was a longtime officer in the KGB, and relies heavily on Russian intelligence agencies for his foreign and domestic policy.

The new agency will be fully operational in time for the 2018 presidential elections in Russia. The big wins by Putin's United Russia party in Sunday's elections effectively muzzle any potential opposition by rival parties in the Russian parliament. (Read more)

- Dear Father, You are all knowing. To President Putin's activating Russia's KGB we say NO. He can change its name but it will still be the KGB. Place Your hand on this and let them fail before they begin. The KGB was taken down once. We pray that by Your power and authority they will be in confusion, disorganization and total failure to become anything more than what You have planned for them. Protect Your people from these evildoers. Thank You, Father, in Your name, amen.

- "Be sober and vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world. But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you. To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen. (1 Peter 5:8-11)

11. Karl forecast to become hurricane later in week; system off Africa forming - UPI

As Tropical Storm Karl was forecast to become a hurricane later in the week, another low-pressure system just off Africa was developing and is predicted to turn into a tropical depression by Tuesday, the National Hurricane Center said Monday. Although Karl is strengthening as it heads west, it's not a threat to reach land in the next five days, the center said. (Read more)

- Father, you know the future of the strength of Tropical Storm Karl and the other low-pressure system off the African coast. No storm has more strength than You, O Lord. We rebuke Karl and the other storm as You taught us to take authority over the winds and seas. Thank You for Your word and Your example in application. Amen.

- "But He said to them, "Why are you fearful, O you of little faith." Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm." (Matthew 8:26)

Something to Watch

Obama, Keen to Push Israeli-Palestinian Peace, Will Meet With Netanyahu

On Sunday, Mr. Obama made clear that now that he had demonstrated a commitment to Israel's security, he planned to press Mr. Netanyahu to move toward reconciliation with the Palestinians.

"The meeting also will be an opportunity to discuss the need for genuine advancement of a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in the face of deeply troubling trends on the ground," Josh Earnest, the White House press secretary, said in a statement.

Left unclear was whether Mr. Obama would go beyond simply urging Mr. Netanyahu. The president is considering whether to publicly lay out his own parameters for a settlement of the long-running conflict, a prospect Mr. Netanyahu has strongly opposed. The president's speech to the General Assembly would be a logical place for such a move, though his advisers say he might wait until after the November election to avoid its becoming part of campaign politics. If he proceeds, he could give a speech outlining his ideas or even encapsulate them in a resolution before the United Nations Security Council. Aides to Mr. Obama say he has played his cards very close to his chest, not discussing his plans outside a tiny circle. (New York Times) Read more.
> > > What does it mean? (Commentary from HN News editor)
Sometimes the real story is buried at the bottom of the story. I have highlighted the two sentences that I want you to pay attention to in red. Just 48 hours ago, Obama and Netanyahu signed off on a Big US Military aid package . . . but it comes with big strings attached.

In the words of fellow news colleague, Eddie Chumney, "the ink is not even wet on the signed military deal", and, as Eddie pointed out to me, we see in the news story above that Obama is making a clear linkage between the "commitment to Israel's security" (the military aid deal) and moving toward to a two state solution. (see the sentences in red above).

In a related news story, "Trump Win Could lead Obama to Back 2 State Solution at UN," Dennis Ross stated:

"The outgoing president would want to create standards his successor cannot undo. He went on to say that a looming Donald Trump presidency would make it more likely for lame-duck US President Barack Obama to support a United Nations Security Council resolution laying down the basic parameters for the creation of Palestinian state, a former top US official said Sunday."

While all eyes are on the US elections, it is important that we also keep a keen eye on what is happening with Israel. Will Obama have France (his "homeboy") carve up Israel like a turkey right around the time of Thanksgiving? Will a UN Security Council resolution be pulled off the shelf on November 29th, 2016, to declare and decree a full member Palestinian state, and giving the thousands of Jews who reside in biblical Judea/Samaria (aka the West Bank) a one year time line to evacuate?
If this happens, if the UN Security Council rules in this way, Yahweh's court will also render a legal judgement. What is that judgment?
For behold, in those days and at that time,
When I bring back the captives of Judah and Jerusalem,
I will also gather all nations,
And bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat;
And I will enter into judgment with them there
On account of My people, My heritage Israel,
Whom they have scattered among the nations;
They have also divided up My land.
(Joel 3:1-2)

Who's who of the terrorist fix we are in

The terror attacks in Minnesota, New York and New Jersey have peaked the interest of Americans who are finally waking up to the situation we are facing because of bad leadership. Tens of Thousands of Somalis, Syrians, Afghans and others from radical Islamic states have been resettled in the US by the policies of the current and past presidents. Moreover, the current Democratic Party nominee for President, Hillary Clinton, has vowed to bring even more of these so-called "refugees" into the nation. It is the policies of the current Democratic leadership and those Republican Party leaders who follow along, who have brought this destruction upon America. For Hillary Clinton, however, ties to radical Islam run deep.

Saudi Arabian Prince Mohammed bin Salman, released a statement in June saying that the Saudis fund 20% of Clinton's campaign. Federal Election Commission reports indicate Clinton has raised some $211.8 million. 20% of this sum is $42.4 million. It is against US law for a foreign entity to fund a US candidate. But Clinton's ties to terrorist-sponsoring Saudi Arabia have a long history. In 2008, for example, the Saudis gave up to $20 million to the Clinton Foundation, which oft has been accused of laundering money to Clinton political causes. The Podesta Group, led by Clinton's Champaign Chairman John Podesta, also receives some $200,000 a month from the Saudis for "public relations services."

Breitbart reports that records verify Hillary Clinton's foundation has taken between $74.5-87.8 million from Algeria, Brunei, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and United Arab Emirates, all Islamic nations. Some, Clinton publicly admitted, sponsor terrorism. And there is more. Add in that Huma Abedin, whose family is foundational to the Muslim Brotherhood terrorist organization, is Clinton's top aide. Clinton's running mate Tim Kaine also has ties to the Muslim Brotherhood. Breitbart reports, "He appointed a Hamas supporter to a state immigration commission; spoke at a dinner honoring a Muslim Brotherhood terror suspect; and received donations from well-known Islamist groups."

Breitbart documents that In 2007, Kaine was the Governor of Virginia and, of all people, chose Muslim American Society (MAS) President Esam Omeish to the state's Immigration Commission. In the 2008 Holy Land Foundation trial, federal prosecutors named MAS as an overt arm of the Muslim Brotherhood in America. Omeish is also an officer of the Muslim Students Association, the Islamic Society of North America, and Dar al Hijra Islamic Center-where al Qaeda operative Anwar Al Awlaki is Imam. This is a terrorist front. Christ said in Matthew 24:4, "Take heed that no man deceive you." Does anyone believe that this influence will not continue? Oh, this just in...AP reports that a Homeland Security audit found that the Administration "mistakenly" granted citizenship to 858 immigrants from "countries of concern to national security."

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

Terror Attacks and the Election

Terror Explodes as Leadership Implodes

President Obama had plenty to say at a New York City fundraiser for Hillary Clinton on Sunday -- but nothing when it came to the terror attacks that rocked the city hours earlier. Barely a day removed from bombings in Manhattan and New Jersey -- and a Minneapolis stabbing in the name of ISIS -- the president couldn't be bothered to address national security because he was busy propping up a candidate who would continue his failed policies. When Darkness Falls

When Darkness Falls

What do you do when it's dark outside? You either go to bed, or turn on a light, right?

In Scripture, there were ten virgins. Five of them were wise, keeping their lamps lit and making sure they had enough oil to last just in case. The others relied on their daily routine to fill up their oil lamps after the lamps were low.

The Bible generally refers to the anointing of the Holy Spirit as the 'oil.' In Zechariah 4:2, the two golden lampstands were "fueled" by oil from two olive trees nonstop.

It's picture for us all to pay attention to- if we stay hooked up to God, our lamps will always be lit and we will be ready when He returns. That doesn't mean we won't have problems - guaranteed we will. But it does mean that we won't be taken by surprise when He arrives!

You won't have time to run to a conference or call up your pastor(s) when those clouds part. You just need to be ready - He's coming!

Boston: Over 3 Dozen Birds Fall From Sky In Dorchester

DORCHESTER (CBS) - Health and environmental officials are investigating why an estimated 40 birds fell from the sky in Dorchester.

The bizarre occurrence took place Thursday morning on Bakersfield Street. The city's Inspectional Services says that grackles were the only type of birds that apparently became sick. As many as 40 birds were found dead, while others were lethargic.

"I tried to move them a little bit, and it just seemed like they were on one side, and you put them on their feet and they just fell," said Dorchester resident Shelora Levaud. "It was almost like one side was paralyzed."

The Animal Rescue League of Boston and Inspectional Services are working to determine what caused their illness.

"We're not sure what's going on, if it's an environmental toxin, or it's some disease that's being spread around the birds," said Danielle Genter of the Animal Rescue League.

There was no initial signs of people feeding the birds. However, investigators are looking at the possibility of the birds ingesting a chemical agent known as avitrol, which is commonly used to remove pests. (CBSLocal) Read more here.

Breaking Chicago's Cycle of Violence and Murder:

This Christian-Developed Program Is Turning Lives Around

(Chicago)-[CBN News] Chicago is in the grip of a wave of violence that shows no signs of letting up. With 500 murders since January, its homicide rate this year tops that of New York and Los Angeles combined. The Chicago Tribune reports that the city is on track to top 600 murders by year's end. It's a number not seen in 15 years and to make matters worse, Chicago police solve just 30 percent of these crimes.

While authorities struggle, strategic ministries are working in some of the hardest hit neighborhoods and impacting young lives though both prevention and intervention efforts.

As early as elementary school, Sammy said he understood the stakes of living in a neighborhood where gangs controlled the streets and the choices he needed to make.

"Maybe by the age of 9 I knew drugs, type of gangs, who were the main leaders," he said, adding "that was so much to take in and try to keep separate, keep that away from my school stuff."

Determined to steer clear, Sammy became known as "neutron"-unaffiliated with any neighborhood gang. He credits New Life Community Church in large part, which created the Urban Life Skills mentoring program in his Little Village neighborhood. (Breaking Christian News) Read more.

"So the nations will fear the name of the Lord And all the kings of the earth Your glory." (Psalm 102:15)

God is using His people to build a Canopy of Prayer across our nation, to stand in the gap before His Throne of Grace in repentance for our personal and national sins; and to pray against all enemies, foreign and domestic.

We meet at 7:00 p.m. EDT, Monday through Friday, in an "open forum." We have no set agenda, but to seek Him daily for the burdens of His heart, and to pray them through . . .
