The Middle East in Focus

1. Netanyahu rejects Obama's assertion that Israel now supports Iran accord - Times of Israel

Israel on Friday firmly rejected US President Barack Obama's claim that its officials now support last year's nuclear deal with Iran. Far from accepting Obama's assertion, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel's stance had not changed, while the Israeli Defense Ministry compared the accord to the Munich Agreement signed by the European powers with Nazi Germany in 1938.

Obama said Thursday that Israeli defense officials are now behind the deal signed by world powers and Iran, and that they recognize the efficacy of the accord. The "Israeli military and security community . . . acknowledges this has been a game changer," Obama said. "The country that was most opposed to the deal." (Read more)

2. ISIS in Egypt says Israel will soon 'pay a high price' - Israel Hayom

A video purportedly issued by the Islamic State group's affiliate in Egypt has delivered a rare direct threat to Israel, saying the Jewish state will soon "pay a high price."

Wilayat Sinai ("Sinai Province"), formerly known as Ansar Beit al-Maqdis, is spearheading an insurgency in northern Sinai that had simmered for years but grew stronger and deadlier after the military's 2013 ouster of Mohammed Morsi, the Islamist president whose one year in office proved divisive.

The narrator of the 35-minute video released this week threatens Israel's Jewish population, saying, "Your account with us has become weighty and you will soon pay a high price." The authenticity of the footage could not immediately be verified, though its contents and production style mirrored previous Islamic State propaganda material. (Read more)

3. PM, defense minister reject plan to build Gaza port on artificial island - Israel Hayom

A proposed artificial island and seaport off the Gaza Strip coast appears to be sinking. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman have spoken out against Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz's plan for the port, citing an inability to guarantee goods and people entering and exiting the port are monitored and checked.

In a response to a question from Israel Hayom earlier this week about the proposed port, Netanyahu called security checks at the port "problematic."

Lieberman, siding with Netanyahu on the issue, said he is "firmly" opposed to the creation of a port. (Read more)

4. World Vision 'Shocked' Its Funds Were Allegedly Given to Hamas Terrorist Group - Christian Post

A leading Christian nongovernmental organization says they are alarmed at allegations that one of their employees funneled millions of dollars from their budget to a Palestinian terrorist organization.

In a statement posted on its website Thursday, World Vision - which has been operating in Israel and the Palestinian territories for more than 40 years - said they were "shocked" to learn of charges against Mohammed El Halabi, operations manager of its Gaza branch.

Israeli security officials arrested Halabi on June 15 at the Israeli-Gaza border and held him in state detention for several weeks before formally charging him with providing material support to Hamas on August 4. (Read more)

5. At mass rally, Erdogan vows to restore death penalty if 'nation decides' - Times of Israel

TURKEY - If the Turkish public want the death penalty following last month's failed coup then political parties will follow their will, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said at a rally in Istanbul on Sunday.

A massive flag-waving crowd, the size of which some Turkish media said had never been seen before, gathered to mark the end of nightly demonstrations since Turkey's July 15 abortive coup that left more than 270 people dead.

"If the nation makes such a decision (in support of death penalty), I believe political parties will abide by this decision," Erdogan said during the unity rally in Yenikapi square in the touristic Sultanahmet district. (Read more)

The Daily Brief

Please note:
Every prayer below is presented to our Lord in the Name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Iran has executed a nuclear scientist convicted of handing over "confidential and vital" information to the United States, a judicial spokesman said on Sunday, confirming claims made by the man's family over the weekend.

"Shahram Amiri was hanged for revealing the country's top secrets to the enemy," Gholamhossein Mohseni Ejeie was quoted as saying by the Mizan Online news site.

Amiri was a nuclear researcher at Malek Ashtar University of Technology and worked for Iran's Atomic Energy Organization. He was said to have had in-depth knowledge of Iran's rogue nuclear program.

His family said he was executed on August 3 and that they had been allowed to visit him the day before.

The researcher disappeared in Saudi Arabia in June 2009 and resurfaced a year later in the United States. Iranian officials welcomed him back to Iran in 2010. According to some reports, his family was harassed and tortured in a bid to force him to come back. There has been little information released since then. (Read more)

- Father, we pray the information gathered will aid the United States with knowledge in Iran's plans regarding its' rogue nuclear program. Give us foresight and ability to "outsmart" Iran in their nuclear intentions.

- 11) Foresight will protect you. Understanding will guard you. 12) [Wisdom will] save you from the way of evil, from the person who speaks devious things, 13) from those who abandon the paths of righteousness to walk the ways of darkness, 14) from those who enjoy doing evil, from those who find joy in the deviousness of evil. 15) Their paths are crooked. Their ways are devious. (Proverbs 2:11-15)

2. Islamic State Claim Belgium Machete Attack - Jvim reports: "The Islamic State group claimed responsibility Sunday for an attack that wounded two policewomen in the Belgian city of Charleroi, saying the machete-wielding assailant was a 'soldier' of the group.

Quoting an unidentified source, the IS-linked Amaq Agency said Saturday's attack came 'in response to calls to target citizens' belonging to countries in a US-led coalition bombing IS in Syria and Iraq.

The assailant died on Saturday after being shot by officers. Police said on Sunday he was a 33-year-old Algerian with the initials K.B.

Belgium on Sunday opened a terrorism probe into the attack, the latest in a string of jihadist assaults in Europe." (Read more)

- Father, we pray for Europe during this time of turmoil. We pray You give them measures to stop and prevent future attacks.

- "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."(Ephesians 6:12)

3. American Authorities Fear Terror Networks Already in US - JVIM

Voice of America News reports: "After years of undercover work, the U.S. is starting to pull back the veil on what appear to be loose-knit, perhaps deeply rooted networks of would-be terrorists who support each other even as many prepare to act alone.

Heightening the concern, these complex webs of connections and support seem to span several years and often cut across the ideological lines that delineate one terror group from another.

'Increasingly, the FBI's had a lot of these,' according to a law enforcement official familiar with one of the more recent cases. 'I think it is going on nationally.' (Read more)

- Father, we pray all these terrorist networks that may be in our country would experience total failure in communication with each other, and total chaos in their organization. Disperse them and destroy their plans.

- "I pursued my enemies and crushed them; I did not turn back till they were destroyed. (2 Samuel 22:38)

4. Schools push for kids not to be called 'boys' and 'girls' - WND

The radical, anti-values sexual revolution is accelerating at break-neck speed.

Just last week, the Charlotte Mecklenburg School Board acted on Obama's high-pressured, open bathroom initiative by taking it to a whole "nutha" level.

CMS introduced "The Gender Unicorn." This little guy is the Charlotte school system's new teacher's assistant. He's going to help our children explore and discover who they "go to bed as," and who they like to "go to bed with."

Are you kidding?!

Yet this little thing is geared to grab the imagination of our children and indoctrinate -and even intimidate - them in participating in the sexual revolution. (Read more)

- Father, we stand against this indoctrination happening in our school systems. May parents everywhere stand up with a loud voice to stop this nonsense.

- But even if you should suffer for the sake of righteousness, you are blessed AND DO NOT FEAR THEIR INTIMIDATION, AND DO NOT BE TROUBLED, (1 Peter 3:14)

5. Company Builds Profile on Every American Adult - The Blaze

It's a company you probably didn't even know existed, but it probably knows more about you than some of your closest friends. IDI, or Interactive Data Intelligence, has only been in business for one year but already, it's built a profile on every American adult: their addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, the kind of car they drive, voter registrations, hunting permits and criminal and civil citation history.

- Father, we turn the care of this company and their plans over to You. Foil their plans. Bring them down. Dismantle this company that invades privacy.

- Destruction is in her midst; Oppression and deceit do not depart from her streets. (Psalm 55:11)

Communist Party USA endorses Clinton

The Communist Party's communications oracle,, has come out swinging for Democratic Party Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. In its latest online edition on July 26, posted: "With Senator Bernie Sanders endorsing Secretary of State Hillary Clinton the message was loud and clear, "We're stronger together." That is what it will take to win in November... Clinton has to provide a vision for a new America, tying together the Democratic platform planks -- called the most progressive ever -- among them, $15 an hour minimum wage, debt-free and tuition-free college and universal health care, with a compelling narrative that inspires people to think big and do big-hearted things."

Here, "progressive", means "communist/socialist/Marxist." It is the anti-God, anti-marriage, anti-moral platform as defined by the Communist Manifesto. writes: "The union movement, communities of color, students, women, progressives and the newborn "political revolution" can help generate voter enthusiasm by talking and tweeting about Clinton and the issues. Challenging sexism is a must as well as racism, which has been a coded (and overt) staple of presidential elections for decades." The commies have their eyes set on the over 78 crowd on the US Supreme Court as the golden egg-think about Clinton's opportunity to cement a communist majority on the Supreme Court for a generation.

The end game with the "progressive" leadership is totalitarianism. It means taking away your rights to free speech, religion, self-defense, and legal equity. It means brainwashing people to believe they have "rights" when, in reality, there are no rights except those permitted by the government. In his controversial book "The New Persecuted, Inquiries into Anti-Christian Intolerance in the New Century of Martyrs" written in 2001, Antonio Socci wrote that 45 million Christians were martyred in the last century--mostly at the hands of communist and Islamic regimes. From 1900 to 1999, over 100 million deaths occurred because of communism. For me, as a Christian, my faith will not allow me to vote for someone who aligns with communist ideals.

The Communist Manifesto states: "...Communism abolishes eternal truths, it abolishes all religion, and all morality, instead of constituting them on a new basis." This is the basis for all socialism and progressivism as well. It is godless and evil. The Bible tells us in 1 Thessalonians 5:21, 22, "Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil." 2 Timothy 3:13 says, "Evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived." There is great deception in the vain words of socialists and communists. They ply the nature of humans with powerful words like "rights" when, in reality, they wish to kill, steal and destroy. Let us remember communism and those who run to it.

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!
