Tracking the Olympics:
Jane Hanson, President, AGLOW International, Releases A Preemptive Strike:
Urgent Prayer Alert for 2016 Summer Olympics
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil - August 5-21
Dear Friends,
It has come to my attention through recent research that South America is a continent that has, until this time, seemed to be off the radar screen for terrorist attacks. However, the 'chatter' is that this evil war of insanity is now targeting Brazil and those attending the Summer Olympics.
Already 10 people who were plotting attacks have been apprehended and Brazilian police have foiled plans by ISIS. Nevertheless, Al Qaeda has issued a call for 'lone wolf' attacks. These attacks appear to be random and without plan and are more difficult for police to prevent.
I believe that God has strategically called Aglow intercessors to rise to the challenges of our day. We are at war and He has called us and equipped us since our beginning to stand in the gates of our cities and nations, declaring, "This far and no more!" Now is not the time to be timid or to hesitate. This is the time for us to execute the Kingdom governmental authority that He has mantled us with to bring Heaven to earth and change the course of history. We were born and prepared for this!
I am asking that you would:
- Stand on the walls around Brazil as watchmen, drawing a blood line of protection that the enemy cannot cross.
- Call for situations to be orchestrated that would cause the hearUts of all who come to Brazil to be softened and turned towards the Lord.
- Call for divine protection around each person attending the summer games, either as a tourist or part of a national contingency of athletes, or part of law enforcement.
- Blanket the atmosphere of Brazil with peace, praise, and worship.
- Call for keen intelligence that will uncover all plots and cause every terrorist to be apprehended, especially those who are attempting to enter Brazil as tourists.
- Speak confusion into the communication lines of all terrorist groups - garble every message; interrupt internet service and reroute phone calls to alert authorities.
- Declare that all instruments of destruction to be used by terrorists, be lost, hidden, or discovered by the proper authorities.
- Bind the anti-Christ spirit that works behind the evil system that seeks to take advantage in Brazil and call for physical blindness to overtake all those intent on evil.
While the rise of terrorism has changed everything, God remains in control of all things. We have Aglow family on the ground in South America and God's promise to us is out of Joshua 1:3; that every place the sole of our feet have been, God has given us the land. He went on to encourage Joshua in verses 5-6 that no man (not ISIS, not a lone wolf) will be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you or forsake you. Be strong and of good courage.

3. Israel's Sanhedrin takes on U.N. - WND
Israel's ancient high court, the Sanhedrin, now reborn, has issued a statement warning the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization not to try to interfere with - or change - the history linked to the Temple Mount.
A report by Breaking Israel News says the U.N. agency wants to adopt a resolution at its current meetings in Istanbul that would declare the Temple Mount, site of the ancient Jewish temples, is "sacred to 'Muslims only.'"
The proposal comes jointly from Palestinian and Jordanian interests and follows an earlier decision by the agency to call the site in Jerusalem in official papers only by the name created by Muslims - Al-Aqsa.
But Breaking Israel News reported the new plan is "far more radical." (Read more)
4. Jerusalem and Washington About to Close Biggest Defense Package Deal Ever - Breaking Israel News
A senior Israeli official is on his way to Washington for what is expected to be the last round of negotiations over the latest military aid package from the US to Israel. The 10-year, $38 billion defense package, known as the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), will be the biggest American foreign aid package in the country's history.
Brig. Gen. (res.) Yaakov Nagel, acting head of the National Security Council, was set to leave Israel on Sunday for a round of meetings with counterpart US National Security Adviser Susan Rice. According to senior administration officials, the deal will be completed by the end of Nagel's visit. (Read more)
5. Gaza's Hamas Hands Out Land Hoping to Avoid Financial Crisis - New York Times
KHAN YOUNIS, Gaza Strip - Earth movers dig into sand dunes on land where once Jewish settlements stood - prime real estate that the Gaza Strip's ruling Hamas group hopes will ease its worsening financial crisis.
Hamas has begun handing out plots of the land to 40,000 civil servants loyal to the Islamic militant group, to make up for millions of dollars in salaries it owes them for the past two years.
The land giveaway is the latest sign that Hamas is struggling financially after almost a decade of uncontested power in the coastal strip.
Gazans grumble about lack of jobs, constant electricity shortages and a blockade imposed by Israel and Egypt that has confined the territory's 1.8 million people to the tiny strip. The World Bank says unemployment is 38 percent. (Read more)
6. Defense minister snubbed by envoy on Egypt's National Day - Israel Hayom
The official gala event celebrating Egypt's National Day, held Thursday at Ambassador Hazem Khairat's residence, hosted many dignitaries including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, President Reuven Rivlin, Opposition Leader Isaac Herzog and dozens of MKs and foreign ambassadors, but one minister was conspicuously absent -- Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman, who was not invited to the event.
The gala, which marked the warming ties between Jerusalem and Cairo, was the first Egyptian-hosted event in Israel in years.
While there were some who hedged Lieberman was snubbed over a comment he made several years ago, saying Israel could "bomb the Aswan Dam," which at the time Cairo took great offense to, a Defense Ministry official dismissed the incident as "a meaningless attempt by political elements to drive a wedge between the defense minister and Egyptian officials, who enjoy a good and positive relations that have already manifested in several ways since Lieberman's appointment." 7. Assad to Netanyahu: Help Me Control the Region and I Guarantee You a Calm Golan - Breaking Israel News
A Kuwaiti news website on Friday cited a source saying Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has received a message from Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, in which Assad vowed to keep the Golan as a demilitarized zone, and the rest of Syria committed to a cease-fire with Israel, if Netanyahu commits to not engaging Israel in an effort to topple Assad.
The source commented that Assad was saying to Netanyahu, in effect: "Help me to control my region and I guarantee calm for Israel in the Golan Heights." (Read more)

1. 1 dead, 3 wounded in Austin shooting, police say - Fox News
A shooting in a crowded entertainment district of downtown Austin early Sunday set off a chaotic scene, leaving one woman dead and three others wounded and police searching for a suspect. Authorities received reports of gunshots in the crowded entertainment area shortly after 2 a.m., Austin Police Chief of Staff Brian Manley said.
Manley said a suspect began firing into the crowd after an initial disturbance. "It was a very chaotic scene," Manley said. "A lot of people running in different directions with all the gunshots coming out."
He said officials are trying to determine who the suspects are, and he didn't rule out that a suspect might be one of the people transported to the hospital.
Police originally reported an active shooter scene in the area, but Manley said two separate incidents caused the confusion. He said there was another confrontation in a nearby parking garage and that a shot was fired there. A man was transported to the hospital after that confrontation, but his condition was not immediately known. (Read more)
- Lord God, we ask for Your mercy. Father God, please comfort the family of this shooting victim, and heal the others who are injured. Lord, let there be peace, we ask, in Jesus' name. Amen.
- "And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive." (Mt. 21:22)
2. FAA was warned of risk for high-fatality balloon crashes - CNSNews.com
Warning about potential high-fatality accidents, safety investigators recommended two years ago that the Federal Aviation Administration impose greater oversight on commercial hot air balloon operators, government documents show. The FAA rejected those recommendations.
A hot air balloon carrying at least 16 people crashed Saturday in Central Texas. No one survived.
In a letter to FAA Administrator Michael Huerta in April 2014, the National Transportation Safety Board urged the FAA to require tour companies to get agency permission to operate, and to make balloon operators subject to FAA safety inspections.
"The potential for a high number of fatalities in a single air tour balloon accident is of particular concern if air tour balloon operators continue to conduct operations under less stringent regulations and oversight," then-NTSB Chairman Deborah Hersman wrote. She pointed to a 2013 commercial balloon tour accident in Egypt that resulted in 19 deaths.
Although "such an accident has yet to occur" in the U.S., Hersman wrote at the time, "based on the number of recurring accidents in the United States involving similar safety issues, the NTSB believes that air tour balloon operators should be subject to greater regulatory oversight." (Read more) (Read more)
- Father, comfort the families of those who lost their lives in the crash of this hot air balloon. May the souls of the lost rest in Your everlasting peace.
These were innocent people that trusted their safety to the owners of this company. Lord, let the safety laws of hot air balloon operations be more strict so that further incidents can be prevented to save lives. The safety of people should be foremost in the operations of hot air balloon tours. We pray that the FAA will establish and enforce safety laws just as they do for other modes of transportation. In Jesus' name, Amen.
- "My people will dwell in a peaceful habitation, In secure dwellings, and in quiet resting places." (Isaiah 32:18)
3. Catholic Priest to Planned Parenthood: History 'Will Lump' You With 'Slave Traders, the Nazis, the Communists' - CNSNews.com
"We have no doubt that in 20 or 50 or 100 years, other societies and other civilizations will look back and will lump your organization in with the slave traders, the Nazis, the communists, all those groups that have always sought to oppress people," said Fr. John Hollowell, a Catholic priest of the archdiocese of Indianapolis, in a video message to Cecile Richards, president of Planned Parenthood, the nation's largest abortion provider.
"My parents chose sacrifice over selfishness, and because they chose to give me life, I do have a say," he continued. "You, of course, have worked very hard to push the total number of those in our country who never had a chance to have a say well above the 50 million mark: those who have been victims of abortion." (Read more)
- Lord Jesus, we praise You for the Rev. John J. Hollowell for standing up and taking a stand against Planned Parenthood and all abortions. He has made a plea for all the unborn that have had not had a chance to see the light of day. Lord, forgive the women who have chosen to abort their babies. They know not what they have done. Nor do they know the consequences that will follow them forever as a result of their decision. Repentance and mercy through You is what we pray for these women.
God, please stop this genocide. Keep these babies safe from the atrocious actions of Planned Parenthood and others who are taking the lives of the unborn and sometimes the mothers. These infants are Your creation. Man has no idea how precious these little ones are to You. Father God, we ask You to do whatever it takes bring down these people using Your creations to make money. In Your Holy and Precious Name.
- "The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly." (John 10:10)
4. At DNC national security night, Israel is notable for its absence - Times of Israel
PHILADELPHIA (JTA) - The speakers mentioned IS. They mentioned Iran. But there was nary a peep about another big I: Israel.
On Wednesday night, a series of big names - President Barack Obama, Vice President Joe Biden, former Defense Secretary Leon Panetta and Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Kaine - all sang of Hillary Clinton's national security bona fides. She's tough, they said. She's smart and responsible. She knows how to use diplomacy and respect the armed forces. Before the marquee speakers, retired officers Rear Admiral John Hutson and Marine Captain Kristen Kavanaugh said she'd be an able steward of the military.
"In this election there is only one candidate who has the experience, temperament and judgment to be commander-in-chief. That's Hillary Clinton," Panetta said, in a speech punctuated by chants of "No more war." "This is no time to gamble with our future. America faces flash points and threats around the globe. We need a president who's strong, smart and courageous." (Read more)
- Father in Heaven, how can someone be praised as being "an able steward of the military " after past records? This person has experience, temperament and judgment, but not to be commander-in-chief of our nation. Lord you know all things and no one can hide from You. We ask for all evil and selfishness to be revealed in all persons supporting any wicked actions that dishonor You.
Cause those who are making decisions for the United States to continue our support of Israel as we stand together in following You. Give both nations peace and protection. Let the flags of Israel and the U.S. fly side-by-side for the world to see our support for each other. Tear down any other flags being displayed across the U.S. that do not honor You. Thank You for hearing our prayers. In Your Name, amen.
- "Only do not rebel against the Lord, nor fear the people of the land, for they are our bread; their protection has departed from them, and the Lord is with us. Do not fear them." (Numbers 14:9)
5. Obama 'Not Generous Enough' in Military Aid Talks With Israel, Says GOP Senator - Haaretz
A senior Republican senator has harshly criticized U.S. President Barack Obama and his national security adviser, Susan Rice, saying they have "not (been) generous enough" toward Israel in negotiations over a new military aid deal.
In an interview with Haaretz, Sen. Lindsey Graham said Congress doesn't see itself as obligated by any agreement Obama signs with the Israeli government. He added that most legislators support increasing aid to Israel beyond the level proposed by the White House.
Graham, of South Carolina, is a senior member of the Senate Appropriations Committee and the subcommittee that deals with foreign aid. Aid to Israel constitutes a significant portion of America's total foreign aid budget. (Read more)
- Heavenly Father, we surely are in agreement with Sen. Lindsey Graham's voicing on INCREASING America's aid to Israel beyond the level proposed by the White House. Thank You Jehovah Jireh for supplying Israel's portion above and beyond what has been agreed upon.
- 'Whom have you reproached and blasphemed? And against whom have you raised your voice, And haughtily lifted up your eyes? Against the Holy One of Israel!" (2 Kings 19:22)
6. Attack inside French church shocks West, but not Christians in Africa
- Fox News
The murder Tuesday of an elderly priest inside a church in France during Mass shocked and sickened the West, but Christians in Africa have long known there is no sanctuary from radical Islamic terrorism. In 2015, more than 2,000 Christian churches in Africa were attacked by terrorists, and more than 7,000 Christians were killed, according to the advocacy group Open Doors USA. Those figures show terrorist groups like ISIS, which claimed credit for Tuesday's attack, as well as Al Shabaab and Boko Haram, will not hesitate to kill inside a house of worship.
"News of the murdered priest in Normandy has shaken many to the core," David Curry, president and CEO of Christian Watchdog group Open Doors USA told FoxNews.com. "While in Nigeria, an average of five churches are attacked every Sunday, this is the first documented case of Western Christians being attacked by ISIS during a worship service." (Read more)
- Abba Father, we will never get accustomed to hearing this kind of a report! Nevertheless, as it continues to come forth, we thank You for the millions of Christ's followers who daily bring forth the GOOD NEWS OF THE GOSPEL OF JESUS, who die that many may live.
- "And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they did not love their life even when faced with death." (Revelation 12:11)
7. Second French priest killer named - CBS News
Officials on Thursday identified the second man who attacked a Normandy church during a morning Mass this week, saying he is a 19-year-old from eastern France who was spotted last month in Turkey as he supposedly headed to Syria - but who returned to France instead.
The prosecutor's office identified him as Abdel-Malik Nabil Petitjean following DNA tests. A security official confirmed that he was the unidentified man pictured on a photo distributed to police four days earlier with a warning that he could be planning an attack.
The agency that coordinates the anti-terrorist fight, UCLAT, issued the photo of a man on July 22, warning police that this person - without a name but who turned out to be Petitjean - "could be ready to participate in an attack on national territory."
Petitjean and another 19-year-old, Adel Kermiche, were killed by police as they left the church Tuesday in Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray. (Read more)
- Father God, the police almost stopped Petitjean before he committed this heinous act of terror, along with his cohort, Adel Kermiche. Father, once again, we ask for divine wisdom to rest upon the security personnel who are trying to identify and track the actions of all potential terrorists in Europe, and in America, that all of these ISIS operatives may be stopped in their tracks.
Lord God, we have all recoiled at the news of this brutal attack. The intent of these two terrorists was not to attend mass but to kill this elderly priest in a premeditated and horrific crime. The blood of that priest is now on their hands and these two terrorists, Abdel-Malik Nabil Petitjean and Adel Kermiche, are now in eternity, separated from You.
Lord God, we ask the Holy Spirit to awaken the consciences of other evildoers so they will turn from their darkness to find You. Abba Father God, let this horrible attack be used by You in bringing lost souls into Your kingdom. In Your Name we pray, amen.
- "Then My anger shall be aroused against them in that day, and I will forsake them, and I will hide My face from them, and they shall be devoured. And many evils and troubles shall befall them, so that they will say in that day, 'Have not these evils come upon us because our God is not among us?'" (Deuteronomy 31:17)
8. Russian officials blame thawed reindeer carcass in anthrax outbreak - CNN
Thirteen people have been hospitalized amid an outbreak of anthrax in western Siberia, the governor's office of the Yamalo-Nenets autonomous region reported Thursday. Experts with the Russian Ministry of Agriculture believe the cause of infection is the thawing of the frozen carcass of a reindeer that died 75 years ago. Anthrax is a potentially deadly bacterial disease caused by Bacillus anthracis, according to the World Health Organization.
The hospitalizations came after up to 1,200 reindeer died over the past month, which officials originally blamed on a heat wave in the region. Unusually high temperatures of up to 35 degrees Celsius (95 degrees Fahrenheit) recorded over the past month might have weakened the reindeer. Now, laboratory tests have confirmed that the reindeer died of anthrax, Gov. Dmitry Kobylkin's office reported.
Kobylkin has enforced a mass evacuation of herders and their families in the Yamalsky district, in the northern Urals. Though anthrax is not passed from person to person, some residents may be flown to another part of the tundra for inoculations as a preventive measure.(Read more)
- Father, the word "anthrax" can trigger fear in all of our hearts, even though You have not given us that spirit. Lord, we ask that all measures the Russian government are now taking to contain this outbreak, no matter what the cause might be, would be fully successful. Thank You, Lord, that we can offer prayers together over this possible threat to our safety, in Your name, amen.
- "And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son." (John 14:13)
9. Attempt at U.S.-Russia cooperation in Syria suffers major setbacks - Reuters
U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry's attempt to elicit Russian military cooperation in the fight against Islamic State in Syria suffered two potentially crippling blows on Thursday.
First, the Syrian army said it had cut off all supply routes into the eastern part of the city of Aleppo - Syria's most important opposition stronghold - and President Bashar al-Assad's government asked residents to leave the city. That move, U.S. officials speaking on condition of anonymity said on Thursday, appeared to be an effort to pre-empt a U.S. demand that Russia and Syria reopen a major road into the divided northern city before talks could begin on creating a joint intelligence center to coordinate air attacks against Islamic State.
Then al Qaeda's Syrian branch announced on Thursday it was terminating its relationship with the global network created by Osama bin Laden and changing its name to remove what it called a pretext by the United States and other countries to attack Syrians. Although one U.S. official called it "a change in name only," the move complicates the American proposal to limit the Russians and Syrians to targeting only Nusra and ISIS, not other rebel groups supported by Washington and its allies in the coalition against Islamic State.
U.S. State Department spokesman John Kirby said Washington has been clear about its concerns over the announcement of the humanitarian corridor and that its view of the Nusra Front had not changed despite its name change. "But we also remain committed to the proposals reached by the United States and Russia to better enforce the cessation of hostilities in Syria and provide the space needed for a resumption of political talks. If fully implemented in good faith, they can achieve a measure of success that has eluded us thus far," Kirby told Reuters.
"As the secretary made clear, however, we are pragmatic about these efforts, and we will look to Russia to meet its commitments as we will meet ours. That will be the primary, determining factor of success here," he added. (Read more)
- Lord God Almighty, we are asking You to be present in this relationship between the U. S. and Russia, no matter how shaky things are in Syria. We ask that You provide the necessary wisdom and insight for these nation's leaders to resolve this looming crisis. If there are hidden facts that need to come forth that would shed light, wisdom and unity among them, we thank You for revealing those, in Jesus' name, amen.
- "For nothing is hidden that will not become evident, nor anything secret that will not be known and come to light." (Luke 8:17)
10. Rio preparing for worst as terror threat hangs over Olympics - Fox News
A half-million foreign tourists, dozens of heads of state and the attention of the world's media. If there were ever a headache for anti-terror forces, it's the Olympics.
In the aftermath of deadly attacks by the Islamic State group in France and elsewhere, Brazil, which has almost no experience combatting terrorism, is beefing up security for the games that start in Rio de Janeiro on Aug. 5. Plans include doubling the number of security forces on the streets, erecting more checkpoints and working closer with foreign intelligence agencies than Brazilians did in the 2014 World Cup.
But will it be enough? (Read more)
- Father God, we realize that the Olympics themselves are replete with occultic overtones and an honoring of false gods. These facts, in and of themselves, leave all athletes and guests "wide open" for an attack, for our security can only be found in You, O Lord. We ask for Your mercy to be upon these Olympics, and for protection for all who will attend this event. In Your Name, amen.
- "The Lord is . . . willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." (2 Peter 3:9)

A time to reflect on God and Country
As the Democratic National Convention comes to a close, I am impressed that true Americans are vilified by the "party," and anything standing on ethics, morals and traditional values is ridiculed, mocked and frowned upon by those who lead the Democratic Party. It is the counter-American party. Those who first came to this new land were predominantly Christians who fled Europe because of religious persecution and/or the hope for a better life. This is documented through the writings of those who settled in Jamestown, Plymouth and even the Huguenots who settled in what is now Florida in the late 1500s. The "state of mind" of these early Americans was freedom of worship and enterprise.
Our first president, George Washington, gave great insight into what it means to be an American in his 1796 Farewell Speech. He said, "Citizens, by birth or choice, of a common country, that country has a right to concentrate your affections. The name of American, which belongs to you in your national capacity, must always exalt the just pride of patriotism more than any appellation derived from local discriminations. With slight shades of difference, you have the same religion, manners, habits, and political principles. You have in a common cause fought and triumphed together; the independence and liberty you possess are the work of joint counsels, and joint efforts of common dangers, sufferings, and successes."
Washington pointed out that all citizens have independence and liberty in common. He said that for the most part, Americans share the same religion, manners, habits and political principles. That is, they were Christian; they were individualist, enterprising, and depended on the "national union" of our government "as of the palladium of your political safety and prosperity." It is for this reason that Washington believed Americans should be watching for the nation's "preservation with jealous anxiety...and indignantly frowning upon the first dawning of every attempt to alienate any portion of our country from the rest, or to enfeeble the sacred ties which now link together the various parts."
The Founding Fathers envisioned a limited government where citizens would give up some independence for the protections needed to have a civil society. In this way, the Founders used Exodus 18:20-21 as a guide to establish our Republic, "And you shall teach them ordinances and laws, and shall show them the way wherein they must walk, and the work that they must do. Moreover you shall provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them..." Self governance can only be accomplished through good citizenship. As you consider the Presidential election, perhaps measure them on the balance of Washington's words and the premise of Exodus 18, and make the best choice.
Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

In God We Trust:
America Celebrates the 60th Anniversary of the Designation of our National Motto
In recent years, President Obama stated that our National Motto is, "E pluribus unum - out of many, one." Last night, Hillary Clinton echoed those same words in her acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention. While they may be sincere in their thinking, they are also sincerely wrong! Our National Motto is not "E pluribus unum." It is, In God We Trust-and never have those four words been more important as we now stand at a crossroads that will determine the future of this great country.
You can take a strong stand right now with over a million people who are proclaiming "In God We Trust." Read more here.
In a world full of uncertainties . . . whether it's a shaky economy, the threat of terror or violence on the streets, political upheaval, or a culture in absolute chaos and turmoil . . . people look for an anchor to help calm their fears and anxieties. They want something-in many cases anything-that appears trustworthy, safe, dependable, and represents a sure foundation.
When the cornerstones of our nation were first laid, we had such a foundation . . . and it was an unashamed and unequivocal trust in God as our Creator . . . the One who helped define our values and beliefs as the United States of America . . . the One who shaped our guiding documents of freedom and governance . . . the One who gave us favor and success throughout the world . . . indeed, the very reason for centuries, we have been blessed as a people.
Today, that foundation is being challenged like never before. Not only is this Motto being ignored, derided, and erroneously challenged in the courts as unconstitutional, again secularists are trying to scrub every reference to these important four words, from our public discourse, and with it our religious heritage.
However, they cannot erase the pesky little fact that July 30th is the Day we Celebrate the 60-year anniversary of "In God We Trust" as our National Motto! In 1956, President Eisenhower signed a law making "In God We Trust" the official Motto of the United States after a joint resolution by the 84th Congress (P.L. 84-851).
The Congressional Prayer Caucus Foundation is leading the charge and you can join us! . . . Get your "In God We Trust" decal, lapel pin, or t-shirt and take a stand with us. Learn more. Let's blitz the nation during this special anniversary celebration and proclaim where we place our trust!

Turkey Surrounds, Blocks Access To NATO's Incirlik Airbase Amid Speculation Of Second Coup
While it is common knowledge by now that the failed and/or staged Turkish coup two weekends ago was nothing more than an excuse for Erdogan to concentrate even more power and eradicate all political and independent opposition, a story that has gotten less attention is the sudden, and acute deterioration in US-Turkish relations. This culminated two days ago when the Commander of US Central Command (CENTCOM) General Joseph Votel was forced to deny on the record having anything to do with the attempted coup in Turkey following pointed allegations from the very top in the local government that the US orchestrated last Friday's "coup", according to a statement released by the US military on Friday. . .
As Stars and Stripes reported late last week, the recent failed coup and jailing of military leaders in Turkey could impact U.S. operations there against the Islamic State group, Gen. Joseph Votel said Thursday at a security conference in Colorado. Votel said the coup attempt in Turkey two weeks ago left him "concerned" about how U.S. operations and personnel at Incirlik Air Base will be affected.
. . . Which brings us to today, and the news that NATO's critical Incirlik Air Base was hours ago completely blocked off by Turkey, with all inputs and outputs to the Adana base having been closed according to Turkey's Hurriyet [media] among rumors of yet another coup.
As the Turkish Minister for European Affairs, Omar Celik, tweeted moments ago, this is just a routine "safety inspection", although it has not stopped local papers from speculating that a a second Gulen-inspired coup attempt may be underway. Hurriyet has raised concern that the closing may be tied to an attempt by the Erdogan regime to prevent a second coup attempt.
Some 7,000 armed police with heavy vehicles have surrounded and blocked the Incirlik air base in Adana used by NATO forces, already restricted in the aftermath of a failed coup. Unconfirmed reports say troops were sent to deal with a new coup attempt.
Hurriyet reported earlier that Adana police had been tipped off about a new coup attempt, and forces were immediately alerted. The entrance to the base was closed off. Security forces armed with rifles and armored TOMA vehicles used by Turkish riot police could be seen at the site in photos taken by witnesses.
And while there has been no official statement from US armed forces stationed at Incirlik at this time, the situation continues to develop in front of the air base as more heavy trucks have been dispatched to surround and block access to the critical military facility.
Finally, at least as of this moment, it appears that theairspace around Incirlik is closed. (ZeroHedge) Read more.
Prayer:
Father, as we witness this unfolding drama at the Incirlik Airbase in Turkey, we lift up all of our own men and women in uniform who are serving there at this hour. Abba, they are charged with keeping us safe, and we turn to You now, asking that You keep them safe. Thank You, Lord, amen and amen.

(Foshan, Guangdong-July 28, 2016) Government personnel in China's southern Guangdong province seized 30 members of a house church in early July and took them to a local station for interrogation.
On the morning of July 10, officials from the religious affairs bureau and police department interrupted Olive Tree Church's weekly worship service and took pictures of the scene. Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord; He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored; He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword; His truth is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! His truth is marching on.
I have seen Him in the watch fires of a hundred circling camps They have builded Him an altar in the evening dews and damps; I can read His righteous sentence by the dim and flaring lamps; His day is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! His day is marching on.
I have read a fiery Gospel writ in burnished rows of steel; "As ye deal with My contemners, so with you My grace shall deal"; Let the Hero, born of woman, crush the serpent with His heel, Since God is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Since God is marching on.
He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat; He is sifting out the hearts of men before His judgment seat; Oh, be swift, my soul, to answer Him! be jubilant, my feet; Our God is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Our God is marching on.
In the beauty of the lilies Christ was born across the sea, With a glory in His bosom that transfigures you and me: As He died to make men holy, let us live to make men free; [originally . . . let us die to make men free] While God is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! While God is marching on.
He is coming like the glory of the morning on the wave, He is wisdom to the mighty, He is honor to the brave; So the world shall be His footstool, and the soul of wrong His slave, Our God is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Our God is marching on.

Massive flooding prompts State of Emergency in Maryland city
ELLICOTT CITY, Md. -
County officials declared a State of Emergency after massive flooding in a city just outside Baltimore, according to our ABC affiliate WJLA.
Heavy rain poured down on Ellicott City, Maryland, Saturday night. At least one person was killed in the flash floods.
Video shows cars floating away as flood waters rush through the streets. In one man's video, a man holds onto his car as its washed away by flood waters and is pulled underwater. The man who shot the video says that man was OK.
Howard County officials declared the State of Emergency just before midnight.
"Doing this will allow the County to access state resources to assist areas impacted by tonight's flooding," the Howard County Government declared on their Facebook page.
Officials warned residents to stay safe and not to attempt to drive through standing water.
The flooding also damaged roads, buildings and store fronts. (CBS2/Atlanta) Read more.
