1. Israel cuts power at second Palestinian city over unpaid debt - Times of Israel

Israel's state-owned electric company on Monday continued to scale back its electricity supply to Palestinian cities due to almost two billion shekels in unpaid debt, limiting its supply to the city of Bethlehem and vowing to do so in other places across the West Bank over the next two weeks.

The Israel Electric Corporation (IEC) said Monday it was halving its supply to Bethlehem, after taking a similar, short-lived step in the city of Jericho last week.

2. Bibi responds to the Palestinian Authority President's request to meet - Jerusalem Online

On Monday, Netanyahu touched upon some of the things Abbas said in his interview on Uvda, which is an Israeli documentary series. One remark Abbas made was that he would come to Israel if Netanyahu invites him.

"A few days ago, on Israeli television, I heard President Abbas say that if I invite him to meet, he'll come. So as I said this morning to an American Congressional delegation, I'm inviting him," said Netanyahu in a meeting with the Czech Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Hamas is continuing its calls for violence against Jews, with one official threatening on Monday to "slaughter" Jews who are "harming" the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Faiza Al-Nashar, who heads Hamas's women movement in Rafah, told the Hamas newspaper Palestine that "today's generation waves his knife and his father's old rifle and goes out to cut off the hands and slaughter the heads of those who attack the Al-Aqsa Mosque."

4. Israeli and Turkish teams to meet in Europe on Thursday- Israel National News

Negotiating teams from Israel and Turkey will meet on Thursday in Europe in an effort to bridge the remaining gaps standing in the way of a reconciliation agreement between the two countries, Haaretz reported on Monday.

Senior Israeli officials noted that in recent weeks, and since the latest round of negotiations between the two countries, several drafts have been exchanged between Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's envoy, Joseph Ciechanover, and Turkish Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Feridun Sinirlioglu on the provisions of the reconciliation agreement that are still in dispute.

The two main issues remaining to be resolved in the reconciliation agreement relate to Israel's demand that Turkey put a halt to the operations of the Hamas military headquarters in Istanbul and Turkey's demand that Israel take certain steps to ease the situation in the Gaza Strip, according to Haaretz.

5. IDF records drastic drop in Palestinian terrorism in March - Jerusalem Post

The month of March has experienced a drastic drop in Palestinian terrorism attacks in the West Bank, Jerusalem, and in Israeli cities within the Green Line, according to IDF data.

The Daily Brief

1. Israel 'our indispensable ally' in war on Islamic terror, says Paul Ryan on visit to Jerusalem - Times of Israel

Paul Ryan - Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mitt Romney's 2012 running mate, and the Republican Who Didn't Run for the Presidency this time - broadly holds to the principle of not being too critical of the US government when traveling abroad. But his very decision to come to Israel on Sunday and Monday - on the first days, that is, of his first foreign trip since taking the Speaker's job last October - is an implied rebuke to President Barack Obama, and an overt reassertion of American solidarity with Israel.

Talking to The Times of Israel from the balcony of his Jerusalem hotel room, Ryan's first order of business is to make clear that he very deliberately chose to visit Israel now so as "to reinforce our alliance" and to underline his conviction that the US-Israel partnership should and will grow stronger in the future.

The 46-year-old father of three from Wisconsin, who was last in Israel late in Ariel Sharon's prime ministership in 2005, emphatically endorses Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's view that Palestinian terrorism directed against Israel is ultimately no different from the Islamic terror afflicting Europe and threatening the United States, and that the civilized world must unite to fight it. "They're coming at Israel but they're ultimately coming for us," he says. "So we are partners in this war on terror, radical Islamic terrorism. Israel is an indispensable ally in that. Israel is on the front line in so many ways with respect to it." (Read more)

- Father God, thank You for the friendship extended to Israel by House Speaker Paul Ryan. May he succeed in strengthening the U.S. relationship with Israel and give them hope for a better relationship in the future.

- "I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you." (Genesis 12:3)

2. Caught between White House and its critics, lawmaker pledges to renew Iran sanctions - Times of Israel

The top Democrat handling foreign relations in the Senate says he will endeavor to get Congress to reauthorize Iran sanctions before year's end, a key goal of pro-Israel activists. "There's general agreement we have to extend the sanctions against Iran, and we need to do it before they expire at the end of this year, " Sen. Ben Cardin of Maryland, the ranking Democrat on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, told JTA on Thursday.

Reauthorizing sanctions was the major request last week when a record 18,000 American Israel Public Affairs Committee activists ended a three-day conference in Washington with a day of Capitol Hill lobbying. (Read more)

- Father God, we pray for expediency in reauthorizing sanctions on Iran, so violations of the nuclear agreement or United Nations resolutions have a legal safety net. We pray for Senators and House members to come into agreement quickly as we thank You for Senator Ben Cardin's leadership on this issue, in Jesus' Name, Amen.

- The wise prevail through great power, and those who have knowledge muster their strength. Surely you need guidance to wage war, and victory is won through many advisers. (Proverbs 24:5-6)

3. Lockheed Martin: First F-35s will arrive in Israel in December - israelhayom.com

Development of the advanced F-35 fighter jet is moving along as expected and Israel "has our commitment" that the first F-35s it ordered will arrive this December, Lockheed Martin Vice President Gen. (ret.) Gary North said Sunday at a Tel Aviv national security conference organized by the Fisher Institute for Air and Space Strategic Studies and Israel Defense.

North spoke in response to reports that development of the F-35 was hitting snags.

"The plane is still in the experimental state in the U.S.," North said. "More than 170 planes are distributed among 10 bases. Lockheed Martin has accompanied the Israeli Air Force since the foundation of the state. The F-35 will be integrated into the air force's operational parameters, which will redefine the battlefield. Your neighborhood is not easy, and it will get tougher as the years go by. In light of that, strength leads to calm. When you're strong, you send a clear message to your enemies." (Read more)

- We are grateful, Heavenly Father, that You equip and defend Your people. We pray these F-35 fighter jets will continue to provide stability and security for the people of Israel for many years to come, in Jesus' precious Name, Amen.

- "The Lord is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation. Shouts of joy and victory resound in the tents of the righteous: "The Lord's right hand has done mighty things!" (Psalms 118:14-15)

4. Hillary Clinton: 'Unborn person' has no constitutional rights - The Washington Times

Democratic primary front-runner Hillary Clinton ran afoul of both the pro-life and pro-choice sides of the abortion debate Sunday when she said constitutional rights do not apply to an "unborn person" or "child."

"The unborn person doesn't have constitutional rights," Mrs. Clinton said on NBC's "Meet the Press." "Now that doesn't mean that we don't do everything we possibly can in the vast majority of instances to, you know, help a mother who is carrying a child and wants to make sure that child will be healthy, to have appropriate medical support." (Read more)

- Heavenly Father, the people of the United States know a pregnant woman carries a real baby regardless of the veil of words used to describe it as anything else. We pray Lord for the will of the people to be established by limiting and abolishing this procedure. Strengthen those engaged in this battle for Life, in Jesus' Holy Name, Amen.

- I led them with cords of human kindness, with ties of love. To them I was like one who lifts a little child to the cheek, and I bent down to feed them. (Hosea 11:4)

5. 43 Senators Tell Court Obama Trying to Change Law 'by Extra-Constitutional Assertion' of Power - CNSNews.com

Forty-three U.S. senators presented a brief to the U.S. Supreme Court today arguing that President Barack Obama is seeking to "implement his policy preferences" in dealing with certain classes of illegal aliens "by the extra-constitutional assertion of a unilateral executive power." "With millions of illegal aliens not permitted to remain in this country, work in this country, or receive government benefits pursuant to federal law, the Executive decided to provide such privileges to them anyway through administrative fiat," says the brief.

The brief was filed in the case of United States v. Texas, which pits Texas and numerous other states against the Obama administration on the legality and constitutionality of the administration's policy called the Deferred Action for Parents of Americans and Lawful Permanent Residents. The brief was presented by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and 42 other senators.

In their own petition to the court, the attorney general and solicitor general of Texas summarized their state's case against the administration. "The Executive Branch unilaterally created a program-known as DAPA-that will grant 'lawful presence' and eligibility for work permits to over four million aliens who are present in this country unlawfully," said Texas's petition. (Read more)

- We lift this Supreme Court decision up to You, Father God, and pray the Justices will rule with integrity and sound judgement. Lord, we pray for our foundation of Constitutional Law and separation of powers to be re-established to benefit all the people of this nation, both citizens and non-citizens, in Jesus' Name, Amen.

- Counsel and sound judgment are mine; I have insight, I have power. By me kings reign and rulers issue decrees that are just; by me princes govern, and nobles-all who rule on earth. (Proverbs 8:14-16)

6. GOP Establishment Plans to Ditch Trump, Push Ryan - Newsmax

Top Republicans are reportedly sticking to predictions that House Speaker Paul Ryan will wind up as the party's presidential pick at the Cleveland nominating convention.

According to Politico, one unnamed source with a "enviable prediction record" this election cycle gives the Wisconsin lawmaker a 54 percent chance of becoming the party's standard bearer.

The GOP source argues he came to the figure after predicting a 60 percent chance of a convention deadlock in July - and a 90 percent chance that delegates then turn to Ryan.

"He's the most conservative, least establishment member of the establishment," the Republican source tells Politico. "That's what you need to be." (Read more)

- Father God, we continue to place this election upon Your altar, asking only for Your perfect will to be done in the selection of these candidates. We repent that we often look to a man to solve our problems, instead of bringing them to you. In Jesus' name, amen.

- "Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven." (Matthew 6:10)

7. Faith-Based Films Lead Weekend Box Office - Crosswalk

Two Christian films have ascended to new heights at the weekend box office. God's Not Dead 2, the highly-anticipated sequel starring Melissa Joan Hart and Jesse Metcalfe, opened strongly with $9.2 million, landing it in fourth place. SRN News also reported that Miracles From Heaven, starring Jennifer Garner, took fifth place in the U.S. and Canada despite this being its third week in theaters. (Read more)

- Lord God, thank you. Amen.

- "I will sing to the LORD all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live." (Psalm 104:33)

Communism in America

On March 8, 2007, The Daily Jot stated: Communism is on the rise in America and seeks to take over the nation without a single revolutionary shot fired. Communism is found in the public school system. Communism is found in the political system. Communism is found in the federal government. But Communism went out with Gorbechev, right?--The tearing down of the Berlin wall; the fall of the Soviet Union. Wrong. Communism is alive and well. Its just not called communism anymore. It is reshaped into a form more acceptable to the American people. It is disguised and is infiltrating every aspect of American society, especially religious circles. And once the pulpit falls, so will the nation.

Communism is a religion that seeks to replace God with the state. Communist strategists realized that America as a godly nation would never fall into their hands. So a change in strategy had to be employed. The strategy was three-fold: 1) appeal to Americans' sense of justice by creating victim classes such as women, homosexuals, the environment, and skin color; 2) convince godly people to believe that communist values are the same as Christian values; and 3) continue teaching secular humanism as aggressively as possible. It fits with the Communist Manifesto calling for the abolition of religion, morals, property ownership, and even marriage. Yes, the Manifesto refers to marriage as a form of prostitution.

The victim classes already have been established. With women it is the sexual revolution and feminism-the breakdown of society by breaking down the traditional family structure. With homosexuals it is the tolerance and homosexual equality movement-the continued breakdown of the institution of marriage. Communism has sought to divide humans by skin color and to inflame animosity between them. And many have been influenced by the "green revolution" of radical environmentalism, such as the flawed science of global warming or climate change, that seeks to redistribute wealth to pay for the damage humanity has done to God's creation.

Not many people will admit they are communists. Progressive is a word used to describe today's communists. A politician can be a member of the Democratic or Republican party and still be a ideological communist. A pastor can be a leader of a conservative church, but be an ideological communist. Its not about what you say, its about what you do and what you support. Communism is the antithesis of God and it is seeking to destroy our nation through its "Critical Thinking" doctrine. Jesus said in Matthew 24:24, "For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect." Beware of the new communism.

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

Chinese House Church Raided; Two Members Detained for Illegal Gathering

(Changji Hui, Xinjiang-April 4, 2016) A house church gathering in Changji, a city in China's far western Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, was raided on March 9 by authorities, who criminally detained two church members, the latest in a long string of house church raids throughout the region.

Nearly 40 people attended the meeting, a Bible training session, including pastors and visitors from other provinces. According to a church member who spoke with China Aid's reporter on March 29, dozens of police and officers from the local religious affairs bureau raided the meeting, claiming that the proceedings were illegal religious activities and taking the attendees' ID cards. Authorities took some of the attendees to the police station for interrogation, which lasted several hours, and did not release them until later that night.

Classic Hymns

Songs Our Grandmothers Sang:

IT IS WELL WITH MY SOUL

"Praise the Lord, O my soul." (Psalm 146:1)

Lyrics

When peace, like a river, attendeth my way, When sorrows like sea billows roll; Whatever my lot, Thou has taught me to say, It is well, it is well, with my soul.

Refrain

It is well, with my soul,
It is well, with my soul,
It is well, it is well, with my soul.

Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come, Let this blest assurance control, That Christ has regarded my helpless estate, And hath shed His own blood for my soul.

Refrain

My sin, oh, the bliss of this glorious thought! My sin, not in part but the whole, Is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more, Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul!

Refrain

For me, be it Christ, be it Christ hence to live: If Jordan above me shall roll, No pang shall be mine, for in death as in life Thou wilt whisper Thy peace to my soul.

Refrain

But, Lord, 'tis for Thee, for Thy coming we wait, The sky, not the grave, is our goal; Oh trump of the angel! Oh voice of the Lord! Blessèd hope, blessèd rest of my soul!

Refrain

And Lord, haste the day when my faith shall be sight,
The clouds be rolled back as a scroll;
The trump shall resound, and the Lord shall descend,
Even so, it is well with my soul.

Refrain

About the Author:

Words: Horatio G. Spafford, 1873.

Music: Philip P. Bliss, 1876

About the Hymn:

This hymn was written after two major traumas in Spafford's life. The first was the great Chicago Fire of October 1871, which ruined him financially (he had been a wealthy businessman). Shortly after, while crossing the Atlantic, all four of Spafford's daughters died in a collision with another ship. Spafford's wife Anna survived and sent him the now famous telegram, "Saved alone." Several weeks later, as Spafford's own ship passed near the spot where his daughters died, the Holy Spirit inspired these words. They speak to the eternal hope that all believers have, no matter what pain and grief befall them on earth.
