4. EXCLUSIVE: Threat of US action at UN Security Council impacting Israel defense aid negotiations - ACLJ

Politics, not line items, may be complicating negotiations over an historic US defense package to Israel, The Jerusalem Post has learned.

Quiet talks have been under way for months over a new, decade-long aid deal, set to replace an expiring Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) worth $3 billion a year in security assistance to the Jewish state.

But according to a senior Israeli official, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu may let the negotiations continue without conclusion so long as there remains a possibility the Obama administration will support a UN Security Council resolution codifying parameters for a two-state solution with the Palestinians.

Netanyahu, the official explained, fears the White House may be seeking to quickly wrap up and sell the MOU as a public display of the president's commitment to Israel's security- in order to free him to pursue action at the UN.

Israel has not received assurances from the White House that Obama opposes such a resolution- a decision that is the president's alone, the official noted. (Read more)

5. German intelligence spying on Netanyahu's office -YNET News

German intelligence agency BND has reportedly been spying on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's Office for several years, German weekly Der Spiegel reported on Saturday.

The Prime Minister's Office has declined to comment on the report.

According to the report, the BND has also been spying on the American space agency NASA, the US Air Force, the US State Department, and American diplomats across Europe. In addition, the interior ministers of Austria and Belgium, the British Ministry of Defense and the main headquarters of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) were also targeted. 6. Israeli and Egyptian ministers meet for first time in years - Jerusalem Post

National Infrastructure, Energy and Water Minister Yuval Steinitz met in Washington on Thursday with Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry for the first meeting between ministers of the two countries in a number of years.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Nuclear Security Summit being held in the White House.

According to Steinitz's office, the discussion focused on various regional issues, the possibility of Israel supplying Egypt with natural gas, and international cooperation in preventing nuclear terrorism. (Read more)

7. Hamas: Netanyahu is a 'liar' - Israel National News

Hamas on Friday branded Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu as a "liar", and declared that the "occupation" would have to pay a price for the return of two soldiers and two civilians which Hamas is holding in Gaza.

The comments by Hamas spokesman Abu Obeida mark the first time that Hamas has acknowledged that the four Israelis - soldiers Hadar Goldin and Oron Shaul and civilians Avraham Mengistu and a Bedouin whose name has not been made public - are missing in Gaza.

Abu Obeida, who appeared in a video alongside the photos of the four Israelis, said, according to the Hebrew language Walla! News website, "There is no contact with the occupation about the soldiers who are imprisoned in Gaza, and we will not provide information unilaterally without the occupation paying the price." 8. Nusra Front, Syrian rebels attack government forces near Aleppo, gain ground - Reuters

Syrian rebels and the al Qaeda-affiliated Nusra Front have mounted an offensive against Syrian government forces and on Saturday took a strategic hill south of Aleppo from government control, a monitoring group said.

The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the offensive began on Friday, and Syrian government and allied forces were fighting to take back control of the territory and repel further attacks.

A fragile "cessation of hostilities" truce has held in Syria for over a month as the various parties try to negotiate an end to Syria's five-year-old civil war. (Read more)

9. Indonesia rebuffs Netanyahu call for normalized ties - Times of Israel

Indonesia rebuffed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's call for the establishment of official diplomatic relations and vowed to uphold its support for the creation of a Palestinian state, the local media said Thursday, quoting a Foreign Ministry official.

"We want to assert that Indonesia's support and efforts to push for the independence of Palestine will not change," the Jakarta Times quoted Foreign Ministry spokesman Arrmanatha Nasir as saying.

Nasir also expressed disappointment at the decision by a delegation of Indonesian journalists to accept an invitation to visit Israel. Netanyahu made the call for normalized ties during a meeting with the delegation in Jerusalem on Monday. (Read more)

1. Obama says world should carry out its end of Iran nuclear deal - Times of Israel

US President Barack Obama said Friday that world powers should carry out their end of the Iran nuclear deal and allow companies to do business in the Islamic republic. "So long as Iran is carrying out its end of the bargain, we think it is important for the world community to carry out our end of the bargain," he said after a nuclear security summit with other world leaders.

This year, the international community lifted a raft of sanctions on Iran in exchange for the country curbing its controversial nuclear program. But this month, Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei accused Washington of failing to respect the terms of the agreement. (Read more)

- Heavenly Father, we come before You alone and ask where is the evidence that Iran has followed this agreement? Based upon previous pronouncements by the leaders in Iran, they were clearly stating to the world that limitations do NOT apply to their nation and their actions. We fall before You, Heavenly Father, and deeply repent of our personal and national sins that permitted this agreement to be implemented. We cry forth this repentance and ask mercy from You, seeking Your guidance so that our nation will not continue to assist the rising power of Iran. Direct our prayers, Father, we pray, in Jesus' Name and under His Shed Blood, Amen and Amen.

- "But Jesus looked at them and said, 'With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.'" (Mark 10:27 NKJV)

2. Obama hails Iran deal as a model for nuclear diplomacy - Times of Israel

At world summit on nuclear threats, president lauds accord's achievements, admits it hasn't curbed Tehran's missile program, support of terror. US President Barack Obama hailed the nuclear deal with Iran on Friday as a "substantial success" and a model for future diplomacy, as world leaders took stock of the world's most worrisome nuclear threats.

Hosting his last nuclear security summit, Obama sought to use the controversial Iran deal as an argument for his carrot-and-stick approach to deterring nuclear proliferation, and he credited Iran with taking steps to meet its commitments. Critics of the deal in the US and abroad are livid about the sanctions relief Iran is receiving in response. (Read more)

- Heavenly Father, this very article points out that Iran has been exhibiting and sharing their missile technology and involvement with terrorist groups. We know that these actions carry the full potential for nuclear power to be used against Your special land of Israel and her people, plus towards several immediate nations around Iran as well as against the U.S and its interests. We plead 'Mercy Father', have mercy upon Your remnant', praying this in Jesus' Name and under His Shed Blood, Amen and Amen.

- "Therefore know that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments; and He repays those who hate Him to their face, to destroy them. He will not be slack with him who hates Him; He will repay him to his face." (Deuteronomy 7:9-10 NKJV)

3. ISIS 'madmen' would gladly use nukes, Obama warns summit -Times of Israel

President says a bomb containing fissile material the size of an apple could kill and injure hundreds of thousands, shake the world. More cooperation is needed to prevent the Islamic State group's "madmen" and other extremists from getting a nuclear weapon, US President Barack Obama warned Friday as global leaders met in Washington.

The threat of terrorists of using nuclear material in a "dirty bomb" - or even obtaining an atomic weapon - has loomed large over the summit, punctuated by revelations that IS members tracked a Belgian nuclear scientist on video. (Read more)

- Abba Father, we know that it has been reported that weapons and possible WMD's were being brought into the US in recent years by people entering this nation from the Middle East via the Mexican border. We repent that our leaders have been asleep and have not taken action to protect our citizens from this danger . . . including that of a "dirty bomb" being brought over our southern border. We thank you, Lord Jesus, that they did not succeed in implementing this part of their plan. However we ask that You cause the truth to come forth so that action can be taken to block these 'Dirty Bomb' plans. We ask this in the Name of Jesus and under His Shed Blood, Amen and Amen.

- "To do evil is like sport to a fool, but a man of understanding has wisdom." (Proverbs 10:23 NKJV)

4. US considers easing ban on dollars to help Iran - AP

The Obama administration is considering easing financial restrictions that prohibit U.S. dollars from being used in transactions with Iran, U.S. officials said. Angry lawmakers countered that Tehran would be getting more than it deserves from last year's nuclear accord.

While no final decision has been made, officials told The Associated Press the Treasury Department has prepared a general license permitting offshore financial institutions to access dollars for foreign currency trades in support of legitimate business with Iran, a practice that is currently illegal.

Several restrictions would apply, but the change could prove significant for Iran's sanctions-battered economy. It also would be highly contentious in the United States, where Republican and some Democratic lawmakers say the administration promised to maintain a strict ban on dollars along with other non-nuclear penalties on Iran after last July's seven-nation nuclear agreement.

"These reports are deeply concerning, to say the least," House Speaker Paul Ryan said Thursday in a statement. "As Iran continues to undermine the spirit of its nuclear agreement with illicit ballistic missile tests, the Obama administration is going out of its way to help Tehran reopen for business. The president should abandon this idea." (Read more)

- Father, we thank You for the statement made by Speaker Ryan on this issue, and we ask that Congress would act and vote according to his wisdom in this matter. In Your Name, amen.

- "If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it." (John 14:14)

5. Leahy asked State Dept. to investigate Israeli human rights 'violations'- POLITICO

Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) and 10 House members have asked the Obama administration to investigate claims that the Israeli and Egyptian security forces have committed "gross violations of human rights" - allegations that infuriated Israel's leader, but, if proven true, could affect U.S. military aid to the countries.

In a letter to Secretary of State John Kerry dated Feb. 17, the lawmakers list several examples of suspected human rights abuses, including reports of extrajudicial killings by Israeli and Egyptian military forces, as well as forced disappearances in Egypt. The letter also points to the 2013 massacre in Egypt's Rab'aa Square, which left nearly 1,000 people dead as the military cracked down on protesters, as worthy of examination.

Leahy's signature is particularly noteworthy because his name is on a law that conditions U.S. military aid to countries on whether their security forces are committing abuses.(Read more)

- Father forgive them for they know not what they do. Open their eyes to the truth, we pray in Your name, amen.

- "I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you . . ."
(Gen. 12:3)

6. State Dept suspends review into 'top secret' Clinton emails - CNSNews

The State Department has suspended its internal review into whether former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton or her top aides mishandled emails containing information now deemed 'top secret."

Spokeswoman Elizabeth Trudeau said Friday the department had paused the review to avoid interfering with an ongoing FBI investigation into Clinton's use of a private server while she was America's top diplomat. She said the decision was made after the department sought the FBI's advice on how to proceed with the review and received word that it should follow its standard practice. Trudeau said the department's standard practice is to place internal reviews "on hold while there is an ongoing law enforcement investigation underway."

An FBI spokeswoman declined to comment. (Read more)

- Heavenly Father, since the State Department's internal investigation over Hillary Clinton's handling of 'top secret' emails has been stopped so they would not be in conflict with the FBI investigation, may it be started again when the FBI investigation is complete. We ask You, Lord Jesus, to be in the midst of all these investigations over this serious betrayal of our national security, so that Your Truth will come forth and Your Justice will be served. We pray this in Jesus' Name and under His Shed Blood, Amen and Amen.

- "For nothing is secret that will not be revealed, nor anything hidden that will not be known and come to light." (Luke 8:17 NKJV)

- "He will bring justice to the poor of the people; He will save the children of the needy, and will break in pieces the oppressor. Yes, all kings shall fall down before Him; all nations shall serve Him." (Psalm 72:4 and 11 NKJV)

7. Mississippi lawmakers approve religion bill amid gay-rights protests -Reuters

A Mississippi measure that would allow people with religious objections to deny wedding services to same-sex couples and provide wide protections for actions decried as discriminatory by gay rights advocates passed the state legislature on Friday.

Opponents plan a last-ditch attempt to stop the legislation on Monday before it heads to Mississippi Republican Governor Phil Bryant, whose spokesman said he would decide whether to sign or veto it after a thorough review.

Bryant previously said he did not consider the bill discriminatory, according to WLOX television in Mississippi. (Read more)

- Father, we thank You for this good report, and we ask that You would move upon the heart of Governor Bryant to sign this bill into law. We ask this in Your name, amen.

- "Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence." (I Timothy 2:1,2)

The prophetic airport experience

The UK Daily Mail reports that police at Brussels airport have written an open letter to the public claiming that at least 50 Islamic State supporters are "working there as baggage handlers, cleaners and catering staff." Reporting from the letter, the Daily Mail says, "the officers said they have warned about the terrorist sympathizers whose security badges give them access to planes, but they remain employed. The airport police, who are threatening to go on strike because of security deficiencies, also said they have raised the issue of terrorists scouting the airport to plan possible attacks." What many Americans do not know, is that the same thing is likely taking place at major airports across the US.

During one of my air travels, I was alarmed by the number of Muslim women working in security at Dulles Airport. After checking through the first line of scanners, I asked to speak to a supervisor. I stated that it seemed imprudent to risk employing in airport security the very people whose religion aims to kill us all. He assured me that there were multiple security layers at the airport and that the Muslim workers were no risk. My suspicions, however, are not allayed, but rather intensified, after reading reports that police in the recently attacked Brussels airport are threatening to strike because their concerns are not being addressed.
The trouble here is naiveté, political correctness, and just plain stupidity. The Belgian police union notes that police had raised concerns about airport security four days before the recent terrorist attacks, and nothing was done to address them. Politicians are so busy trying to convince the public that Islam is the peaceful religion that they place lives in harms way. The Muslim "civil rights" groups are so aggressive crying foul every time a Muslim is singled out as a possible threat to human life, that the authorities are afraid of them. In reality, the politicians are putting us all at risk by allowing these Muslim groups to take away our right to protect ourselves in the name of equality and nondiscrimination. How absurd.
Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

Mass protest not so massive

Plans for mass civil disobedience protest marches off from Independence Mall

The current version of free speech in America, with big money talking loudest, is wrong. That's the message of Democracy Spring, which kicked off a walk on Saturday at Independence Mall, with a plan to stage massive civil protests and provoke thousands of arrests in Washington, D.C. An assemblage of liberal, but disparate groups - Friends of the Earth, MoveOn, the National Organization for Women (NOW), the Voucher Vendetta and more - cheered each other on as they began a walk to Ridley Park in suburban Philadelphia.

Curt Ries, deputy director of Democracy Spring, and a man who has been arrested for disrupting the United States Supreme Court over the issue of money in politics, said the American ideal of democracy is "grossly unfulfilled." He said rather than the ideal of one-person, one-vote, politics has become more about using wealth to influence elections than casting individual votes. That's why his group is walking to Washington, he said. They plan six days of nonviolent sit-ins calling for the passage of bills to expand voting rights, ensure fairer elections and overturn the Supreme Court's 2010 Citizens United decision, which opened the way for businesses and their wealthy owners to sway the political process through donations to Super PACs.
Ries, who plans to be arrested, said 3,000 have pledged to face jail, and 1,000 of those pledges have already been vetted. If all of the pledges make good, it will be the largest civil disobedience act in United States history, said Ries.
That remains to be seen, though: while the organizers had hoped to turnout 300 to 500 on Saturday, the true number was "no more than 150," according to an Independence Park ranger who watched the peaceful crowd at a distance. . .
Two tourists in from suburban Washington, Mike and Claudia Burke, were taking in the Liberty Bell Saturday morning and didn't even notice the protest at the other end of the lawn. Told of the subject of their protests, Claudia agreed with their concerns - right up until she heard the group planned six days of protests that could have a bad effect on already horrible traffic in Washington. "That's not good," she said. (Philly Voice) Read more here.

KENYA: Muslim Teacher Who Died Saving Christians from al-Shabaab Honored for 'Act of Courage'

A Kenyan Muslim teacher who protected Christians from death at the hands of al-Shabaab terrorists in an attack last year has received one of the country's top awards for bravery.

Salah Farah, who died of his injuries sustained in the attack, has been awarded with the Order of The Great Warrior, Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta announced yesterday.

Kenyatta said he was proud that Farah had "refused to be divided by terrorism" and said the award was being given to praise "his act of courage".

Farah, deputy head of the Mandera township primary school, was on a bus with 60 other passengers which was stopped by al-Shabaab militants in December.

He was one of several Muslims who refused to allow them to separate the passengers into Christian and Muslim groups, saying "Kill us all or leave them alone" and was hailed as a hero for helping save Christian lives. (Christian Today) Read more.

Classic Hymns

Songs Our Grandmothers Sang:

The Solid Rock

"The rain came down, streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock." (Matthew 7:25-26)

"They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the Lord was my stay." (Psalm 18:18)

Lyrics

My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus' blood and righteousness.
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly trust in Jesus' Name.

Refrain

On Christ the solid Rock I stand,
All other ground is sinking sand;
All other ground is sinking sand.

When darkness seems to hide His face,
I rest on His unchanging grace.
In every high and stormy gale,
My anchor holds within the veil.

Refrain

His oath, His covenant, His blood,
Support me in the whelming flood.
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my Hope and Stay.

Refrain

When He shall come with trumpet sound,
Oh may I then in Him be found.
Dressed in His righteousness alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne.

Refrain

The Good News Corner

Supreme Court Sends Hopeful Signal In Little Sisters Religious Liberty Case

In the most closely watched religious liberty case of its current term, the U.S. Supreme Court today dropped a major hint that it might not be content to let the passing of Justice Antonin Scalia result in a 4 - 4 deadlock that would force the Little Sisters of the Poor and other religious entities to choose between violating their consciences and closing up shop.

In an extraordinary Order issued [this week], the Court directs the parties to file supplemental briefs that specifically address how the contraceptive and abortifacient coverage mandated by the Obama Administration might still be obtained by religious objectors' employees in a way that would not involve the objectors in any way in the process-including submitting the form that is required under the current HHS Mandate and is at the center of the current controversy.

Not only does the Court direct the parties to submit supplemental briefs no later than April 12th, the Court provides a detailed example of a procedure in which the Little Sisters' moral dilemma would be addressed in a way that (the Court suggests) might be morally acceptable to the Sisters while, at the same time, achieving the government's stated goal of removing barriers to contraceptive access. The Order does not present the parties with a "take it or leave it" example; instead, the Court invites the parties to come up with "other proposals along similar lines."

This is an extraordinary and hopeful development. While most observers of last Wednesday's oral argument on the case walked away believing that the Court was split 4-4-a result that would have meant a loss for the Little Sisters and others who lost at the courts of appeal-today's development appears to indicate that the Court is, instead, struggling to fashion a resolution of the case that both sides can live with.
