The Daily Brief

1.URGENT: Suspicious Packages Reported on Multiple UPS Flights - Fox News

Department of Homeland Security is investigating suspicious packages reported in cargo flights at Newark, N.J., and Philadelphia airports after explosive device reportedly found aboard UPS flight in London.

- Lord, we pray that you reveal the origination of the explosive device. Foil the plans of the enemy on every side. Let not one device sneak through our defenses.

- Declare our officials have skill, wisdom, and understanding in all situations. (Daniel 9:22)

2.Shots Fired at Marine Corps National Museum - Fox News

Shots were fired overnight at the National Museum of the Marine Corps in Triangle, Va. -- the second time the facility has been targeted in a month.

The shooting incident occurred just hours after the FBI linked a shooting that took place overnight Monday at a Marine recruiting center in Chantilly, Va., with two similar cases in the commonwealth -- including an earlier incident at the museum.

- Lord, we pray this shooter is quickly apprehended. Protect these facilities and the citizens who are stationed at these locations.

- You shall not be afraid of the terror of the night, nor of the arrow (the evil plots and slanders of the wicked) that flies by day. (Psalm 91:5)

3.Va. man accused of plotting bomb attacks at Metro stations - Washington Examiner

A Northern Virginia man charged with plotting the destruction of Metro stations told contacts he assumed were al Qaeda terrorists that the best hour to strike the transit targets would be between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. to "cause the most casualties," according to federal authorities.

- Lord, we cover our nation with the blood of Jesus. Protect our nation from terrorists on the "inside" and those coming at us from the "outside". Surround us as with a shield.

- But the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen and protect you from the evil one. (2 Thessalonians 3:3)

4.Nevada Voters Complain Of Problems At Polls - Fox News Vegas

Some voters in Boulder City complained on Monday that their ballot had been cast before they went to the polls, raising questions about Clark County's electronic voting machines. Voter Joyce Ferrara said when they went to vote for Republican Sharron Angle, her Democratic opponent, Sen. Harry Reid's name was already checked.

- God in heaven, overrule every trickery and undeniable deception regarding the voting machines casting erroneous votes. Put all voters on red alert to perceive with extra care to take note that their vote was correctly checked and cast. In Jesus Name.

- "Just balances, just weights, a just ephah, and a just hin, shall you have: I am the Lord your God." (Leviticus 19:37)

5.Voter reports problem with ballot machine - New Bern Sun Journal

A Craven County voter says he had a near miss at the polls on Thursday when an electronic voting machine completed his straight-party ticket for the opposite of what he intended. Sam Laughinghouse of New Bern said he pushed the button to vote Republican in all races, but the voting machine screen displayed a ballot with all Democrats checked. He cleared the screen and tried again with the same result, he said. Then he asked for and received help from election staff.

- Father, we bind the electronics of every voting machine by the name of Jesus, that fraudulent voting will be cast out and denied access to these machines. In Jesus Name.

- "A false balance is abomination to the Lord: but a just weight is His delight." (Proverbs 11:1)

6. Clinton: US has no problem with Bushehr atomic plant - Jerusalem Post

The United States does not see Iran's Bushehr nuclear reactor as a threat, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said Tuesday, on the day that the Islamic Republic began fueling the core of the power plant.

B. 'US to present new nuclear negotiation terms to Iran' - Jerusalem Post

The Obama administration is planning to offer new terms for negotiation with Iran, The New York Times reported on Thursday.

- God, we ask that You send warring angels to stand in the gap and protect Israel and the United States against any nuclear attack. Release battering rams against the gates of hell that they cannot prevail against us. In Jesus Name.

- "As silver is melted in the midst of the furnace, so shall you be melted in the midst thereof: and you shall know that I the Lord have poured out my fury upon you." (Ezekiel 22:22)

The Middle East in Focus

2. 'Egypt trying to convince Abbas to resume peace talks with Israel' - Ha'aretz

Egypt's top diplomat and the head of its intelligence branch were in Ramallah on Thursday in an effort to persuade Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to resume direct negotiations with Israel.

3. Fayyad: PA will declare independent state in August 2011 - Jerusalem Post

4. Israel Needs You! - BridgesforPeace.com

Overall, one could say it hasn't been a very good week for Israel, at least on the interfaith front. Between the synod of Catholic bishops and evangelical Stephen Sizer, it seemed that the tension couldn't get any worse. Then came the Presbyterian call for divestment. Israel has been slandered, delegitimized, and ostracized from seemingly every corner of the Christian world. The underlying disregard for biblical scholarship in each of these instances is alarming, as it is an apparent return to blatant replacement theology.

For decades now, many evangelical Christians have engaged in relationship-building with Israel. We have claimed to be true friends, advocates, and supporters, sincere and respectful in our desire to build a lasting relationship based on what we share in common. The time has obviously come for us to make good on our word. As Stephen Sizer and the Catholic bishops purport to speak for Christianity, it is imperative that we make our voices heard. Do we all agree with every decision Israel makes? Of course not. Do we think that Israel is infallible and can make no mistakes? Certainly not. Do we believe that Israel has a biblical, moral, and historical right to exist as a Jewish state, recognized as a sovereign nation by the global community, living in peace and safety free from international meddling? Unequivocally, yes we do.

Whether or not Christians would identify themselves as "Zionists" or even dispensationalists for that matter, we must recognize what is at stake here. It goes far beyond Jewish-Christian relations and even beyond the sovereignty of the state of Israel. If the Bible can no longer be trusted, we have nothing. It is God's integrity and the validity of His Word that are on the line. If this growing tide of anti-Israel sentiment in the Christian community bodes ill for Israel, I would suggest that the ramifications are even more ominous for the Church.

- Father, we stand firmly on Your Word as truth, and know that according to Scripture, You have not forgotten Israel. We are saddened that people who call themselves by Your Name have twisted Your Word so badly. We pray that Your truth will be shown in the nations, and that Your Word come to pass quickly for the sake of Israel.

- "And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Zion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob. For this is My covenant to them, when I shall take away their sins." (Romans 11:26-27)

The Daily Jot

Unreliable voting machines and their reliable lying administrators

The Clark County, Nevada Registrar of Voters Larry Lomax has responded to accusations that voting machines are automatically marking Democratic Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid on early voting ballots. Lomax told reporters he has "reconciled" five reported discrepancies, but he won't say how he fixed the problem. In fact, he is saying that its nobody's business until after the election and he can't guarantee there will not be more machines voting automatically for Reid. Lomax said, "I've been able to resolve it. I know what happened. But I'm not going to claim that at the end of the election I can account for every ballot. There will be unexplained votes on voting machines."

The legal counsel for the Nevada Republican Party has formally complained to the Nevada Secretary of State, a Democrat, that official early voting logs show the number of ballots cast are larger than the number of voters who signed the election registers. This has occurred at seven early voting sites. The Secretary of State says the discrepancies are "explainable." Indeed his securities administrator investigating the problem says, "I'm very satisfied with the answers that I am getting." So the Democrats, who are in charge of the voting machines, are investigating how their candidate is getting more votes than what's being cast. They are satisfied with answers and can explain it--but not until after the election.

Here the local Democratic Registrar of Voters is saying emphatically that there will be "unexplained votes on voting machines." The Democratic Secretary of State in Nevada says the discrepancies are "explainable" And the Democratic securities administrator who works for the Democratic Secretary of State says she is satisfied with the answers she is getting in her investigation of the irregularities. But all of them are saying they will not explain the unexplainable satisfactory answers until after the election. In addition, the technicians for the voting machines are Service Employees International Union members who gave over half a million dollars to defeat the Republican Senate candidate.

There are reports of voter problems in Illinois, New York, California, Minnesota, Arizona, North Carolina, Texas, and Missouri. Many of these states are dealing with whether to count absentee ballots of those serving in our military. Military members oft are considered conservative voters. This is exactly what Founding Fathers like Noah Webster warned about: "If our government fails to secure public prosperity and happiness, it must be because the citizens neglect the Divine commands, and elect bad men to make and administer the laws." 1 John 2:22 says, "Who is a liar but he that denies that Jesus is the Christ?" Truth is found in Christ--not in voting machines and the liars who administer them.

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

Truth Cannot be Silenced

"This is an Iowan effort," Congressman Steve King (R-Iowa) proclaimed as he kicked off day four of our Iowa "Judge Bus Tour" in Waterloo, Iowa. Protestors surrounded FRC Action PAC President Connie Mackey, but she did not allow the truth to be silenced. Connie's boldness drew cheers from supporters and praise from Rep. King who after the rally declared her to be an "oral pugilist." Our supporters, some with tears in their eyes, thanked the FRC Action team and the National Organization for Marriage for helping them take a stand against the radical judicial activism of the Iowa Supreme Court.

The "Judge Bus Tour" is also receiving extensive media coverage across the state as we make the point that a "no retention" vote will send a message to the federal courts now considering the marriage issue. Special thanks to Chuck Hurley, president of the Iowa Family Policy Center, who has also brought along some great Iowan speakers. I joined the tour this afternoon in Dubuque, Iowa where I joined Congressman King and Pastor John Hulsizer with the Church of the Nazarene. Tomorrow, the bus travels to Davenport, Burlington, Ottumwa, Pella, and then Des Moines for the final rally in front of the Iowa Supreme Court building. (Tony Perkins, FRC Action, 10/27/10)

Foreclosure Fraud Exposed: Lenders Own Up to Foreclosure Fraud

With some estimates predicting six million foreclosures in the next two years, statistics on the economy couldn't hit any closer to home - literally. Barry Zigas, director of housing policy for the Consumer Federation of America, told the Christian Science Monitor that expensive, subprime loans are not the main problem. "The biggest single cause of foreclosure today is loss of income or employment-related issues," he said.

Meanwhile, lawsuits on behalf of evicted homeowners are expected to multiply in the coming days as at least six states are looking into improper foreclosure practices. Some of the nation's largest creditors have admitted to faulty documentation and muddled procedures. Problems include incomplete paperwork, possible forgeries, questionable legal notarization, and multiple banks playing tug o' war over the same property. Confusion reached such a level that lenders and loan servicers are having second thoughts about past evictions and are putting current foreclosures on hold. The future is still unclear for borrowers who have lost their homes, but courts may require banks to reimburse legal costs in these cases.

- Give thanks for what has been revealed concerning fraudulent foreclosure practices and pray for increasing clarity and wisdom for lenders and borrowers. Pray for the Church to seek ways to reach out to family, friends and neighbors facing unemployment and eviction.

- "Arise, LORD! Lift up your hand, O God. Do not forget the helpless. Why does the wicked man revile God? Why does he say to himself, "He won't call me to account"? But you, O God, do see trouble and grief; you consider it to take it in hand." (Psalm 10:12-14)

Bonds Sold at Negative Yield: Treasury Sells Bonds at Negative Yield

The Washington Post reports that the Treasury's sale of $10 billion of five-year Treasury Inflation Protected Securities at a negative yield on Monday is the first time ever that the yield has dipped below zero. The sale is a sign that investors are betting the Federal Reserve will be successful in creating inflation and jump-starting the economy. The Fed is wandering into new territory with its attempts to push up inflation, a tactic which Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke admits economists have relatively small experience in. (Washington Post)

- Pray for officials to have wisdom and prudence as they attempt to jump-start the struggling economy. (James 1:5) (Source: Intercessors for America)

Election News

Obama's Military Voting Scandal

Of all the scandals of the Obama administration - and there have been many, from unread legislation to czars with undefined powers to wasted stimulus money - perhaps the most frustrating is one unfolding now regarding absentee ballots to our troops. According to a Fox News report, "nearly a dozen states have struggled" to meet the deadlines set by federal law to get absentee ballots mailed to our troops overseas.

The problem appears to be worst in Illinois, where roughly one-third of the counties failed to get ballots mailed on time. Yet, Obama's Justice Department cut a deal with the state that gives most counties a pass. Six counties have been told to extend the deadline to return ballots. But according to Eric Eversole, a former attorney in the Justice Department's Voting Rights section who now runs the Military Voter Protection Project, "For at least 29 counties, there were absolutely no consequences."

This administration wants to run Wall Street, the big banks, car companies and our healthcare. But it either cannot or will not effectively administer a simple absentee ballot program to guarantee that our men and women fighting overseas have the opportunity to cast their votes in this critical election.

I am sure that it is completely coincidental that the military ballots were delayed this year - the same year the Obama White House and congressional Democrats decided to aggressively push allowing open homosexuality in the military. The Pentagon is reviewing surveys from our troops, and I suspect the White House is very aware of the intense negative feedback they are getting from our soldiers, feedback which would likely translate into votes against congressional liberals.

The media have been fretting lately about how the new Republican Congress might use its subpoena power to investigate the Obama Administration. I can't think of a better issue for Republicans to bring up first than this military voting scandal. Attorney General Eric Holder should be called to Capitol Hill and questioned under oath to determine why American heroes are losing their right to vote while Holder and Obama fight for constitutional rights for GITMO terrorists. (Gary Bauer)

Election Prayers

PRAYER FOR THE CANDIDATES:

(Part Four of Four)

"Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, The people He has chosen as His own inheritance." (Ps. 33:12)

Dear Prayer Partners,

My prayer this final week before the election is that God's will would be done. His word says that He places those in authority in their positions. We have been so intimately involved this year, especially in so many races across the country, that I know Tuesday night will really be exciting. I am praying for each race that God would provide the energy and focus this last week.

Please also pray for protection for these candidates. There are so many negative ads out right now and negative mail pieces being dropped that I know can be discouraging when you read in a mail piece lies about yourself. Please pray just for the truth to prevail and for voters not to be blinded.

Sometimes we can feel overwhelmed, but God provides the manna we need daily. He gives us just what we need. I have been reminded this week of the first scripture verse that we claimed when we first ran for Congress . . . . It is in Jonah. "Those that cling to worthless idols forfeit the grace that could be theirs." So I am trusting God and turning the entire election over to Him and trusting Him with the outcome. I am casting my cares upon Him. And I eagerly anticipate the outcome knowing He is on His throne. What a comfort that is.

Thank you for praying. We rely on your prayers more than you know. -- From the wife of a member of Congress

The Good News Corner:

Woman walks after decades in wheelchair by miracle of God!

After 23 years in a wheelchair unable to walk after she was hit by a car, this lady was paralyzed until she was healed by the power of God after being prayed for at church. However, her Mother never stopped praying for her daughter, not even for a day.

It is noteworthy that this lady's mother never missed 1 day praying for her daughter before this miracle happened.

I want to encourage all to pray and faint not..to not give up and think it is too late for the person you are praying for. Hold on to your faith and take the promises of God very seriously, because He was and is very serious in making these promises His Word is Yea and Amen and He does watch over His Word to perform it. When we believe this Word we can know He will do it. He makes it happen..all glory to God. (Source of original: WIVB.com; Buffalo, New York. Source of commentary unknown)
