North Korea Is So Worried About Kim Jong Un Being Assassinated
That It's Asking KGB Agents for Help
Kim Jong Un has taken his personal protection to a new level. Japanese media reported Friday that the North Korean dictator, who already only travels at night out of fear of attack, has linked up with 10 former KGB agents to avoid assassination.
A source told the Asahi Shimbun that Kim reached out to the ex-members of the Russian secret intelligence agency in February. They came to Pyongyang as military advisers to give advice to Kim's guards on how to handle threats-including those that may come from the U.S. The outlet also speculated that the former KGB agents may be helping the North Korean government weed out spies there.
"North Korea is showing great interest in defending against assassination carried out by U.S.-made state-of-the-art weapons," the source told the Asahi, according to a translation from United Press International. The former spies from the Soviet security agency were asked "to carry out military education and training needed in detecting and pre-emptively suppressing acts of terror."
Kim has been paranoid about assassination for a while. In June, South Korean National Intelligence services revealed that the supreme leader had begun using different cars to move around. He's also cut down on his number of public appearances, according to the Korea Herald.
Kim has accused South Korea of attempting to kill him as part of a desired "leadership change." The U.S. Pacific Command, however, tweeted in April, "We want to bring Kim Jong Un to his senses, not to his knees." In May, Pyongyang said it would "mercilessly" wipe out terrorists planning to kill the leader.
Meanwhile, it's been speculated Kim has been involved in another assassination-related news story: that of a relative.
The Nikkei Asian Review reported this week that Jang Song Thaek, Kim's uncle, had tried to organize a coup with China back in 2012 to put Kim Jong Nam in power. Jang was executed in 2013 after being convicted of treason. Kim Jong Nam was murdered earlier this year when two women put a poison on his face, causing some to hypothesize that the North Korean dictator ordered the killing. (Read more)
- Father God, we are grateful to know that Kim Jong Un is worried about this topic, because it tells us that he has no peace in considering the afterlife. Father God, we ask that You would bring a true "wake up" call into his life, that he might repent of his sin, and turn to You for salvation and for help. Let him become a new man, leaving terrorism behind and embracing truth. In Your Name we pray, amen.
- "And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment . . ." (Hebrews 9:27)

1. Opening Knesset, Rivlin warns of government 'coup' against democracy - Times of Israel
Speaking at the opening of the Knesset winter session on Monday, President Reuven Rivlin launched a passionate defense of the judicial system and the media, saying government attempts to undermine them amount to a "coup" against the pillars of Israeli democracy.
"The Knesset is the representative of the sovereign, the people of Israel, the entire people of Israel. In this house we must remember that it is the people we must live up to. This wonderful people who we have been privileged to serve and represent," Rivlin told Knesset members and guests at the ceremony.

2. 'No president has never attacked the state like this' - Israel National News
Culture and Sports Minister Miri Regev responded harshly Monday to the accusatory speech given by President Reuven Rivlin at the opening of the Knesset's winter session.
Rivlin slammed the government for attempting to weaken the Supreme Court and attacking the media, the "gatekeepers of democracy." He aimed thinly veiled criticism at the prime minister, with whom he does not get along.
"[We have] a president who scorns politicians, belittles the will of the people and harms the heart of democracy," Regev said.
"Rivlin attacked the state today in a way no president before him ever did."
"It's strange to hear this from someone who has served for many years as a politician and has recently been elected president by politicians. In his speech today, the president showed a lack of gratitude to those who elected him," she added.

3. Israel thwarts Hamas attempt to smuggle military equipment - World Israel News
Israeli security forces on Sunday seized a massive shipment of military-grade gloves en route to the Hamas terror group in Gaza.
Israel's Ministry of Defense stated Monday that its security inspectors foiled an attempt to smuggle thousands of pairs of military tactical gloves into the Gaza Strip via the Kerem Shalom Crossing.
The gloves were concealed in a consignment of clothing.

5. PM said seeking to lower vote threshold for Knesset entry - Times of Israel
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is seeking to lower the electoral threshold parties need to gain entry to Knesset, in a move apparently aimed at saving hundreds of thousands of right-wing votes. But news of the development has angered coalition partners in the Shas party, Channel 2 reported Sunday.
Without revealing its sources, the news report said that Netanyahu wants a return to a two percent threshold, the level it was at before 2014 when the government - also under Netanyahu - raised it to 3.25%, effectively preventing parties from entering the Knesset with fewer than four seats.

6. WATCH: 'We Could Speak with King David,' Says Israeli Education Minister - United with Israel
Anti-Israel activists oppose Israel's right to exist and deny the Jewish people's 3,000-year-old connection to the Land of Israel.
Archaeological discoveries are made continually, pointing to the deep Jewish historical ties going back thousands of years.
King David, in fact, ruled over what was known as the Kingdom of Judea, from where the word "Jew" originates.
Naftali Bennett, Minister of Education and Diaspora Affairs, in an entertaining address, clearly explains the indisputable facts. The message is clear: The Jewish people need to remain forever in its ancestral homeland!

1.EXCLUSIVE: US Preparing to Put Nuclear Bombers Back on 24-Hour Alert - Defense One
The U.S. Air Force is preparing to put nuclear-armed bombers back on 24-hour ready alert, a status not seen since the Cold War ended in 1991. That means the long-dormant concrete pads at the ends of this base's 11,000-foot runway - dubbed the "Christmas tree" for their angular markings - could once again find several B-52s parked on them, laden with nuclear weapons and set to take off at a moment's notice.
"This is yet one more step in ensuring that we're prepared," Gen. David Goldfein, Air Force chief of staff, said in an interview during his six-day tour of Barksdale and other U.S. Air Force bases that support the nuclear mission. "I look at it more as not planning for any specific event, but more for the reality of the global situation we find ourselves in and how we ensure we're prepared going forward." (Read more)
- Lord, we are thankful that the military is taking the appropriate steps to prepare for any contingency. We also ask that You stop any and all plans of North Korea to destroy any region, any nation, and any people.
- "You, through Your commandments, make me wiser than my enemies; for they are ever with me." (Psalm 119:98)
2. Trump to announce new refugee admissions cap, stronger vetting rules as ban expires - Fox News
President Trump on Tuesday is expected to announce a tighter cap on the number of refugees admitted to the U.S. and call for tougher vetting rules, as his administration's refugee ban expires, Fox News has learned. The administration's 120-day suspension of admissions for most refugees lapses on Tuesday. Coinciding with the deadline, Trump is expected to sign a document starting the process of allowing refugees back into the U.S. - under new guidelines.
Under the new rules, the U.S. would cap refugee admissions at 45,000. That's down from 110,000 under the last year of the Obama administration. The administration also will seek to "enhance procedures for refugee entries" by "raising standards" for vetting. The federal government would apply those standards "across the board" - under current policy, men are vetted more stringently than women and children.
The refugee ban is tied to the so-called travel ban, which has gone through several revisions and been challenged in court every step of the way. The administration's third version of its controversial visa-entry restrictions for travelers from targeted countries was immediately challenged in court. Any new refugee restrictions are likely to face a similar fight. (Read more)
- Lord, we pray that you will protect the United States from those who wish us harm. Let these legislative attempts to do so be adopted, and kept safe from court interference.
- "But wisdom brings success." (Eccl. 10:10d)
3. Mueller Now Investigating Democratic Lobbyist Tony Podesta - NBC
Tony Podesta and the Podesta Group are now the subjects of a federal investigation being led by Special Counsel Robert Mueller, three sources with knowledge of the matter told NBC News. The probe of Podesta and his Democratic-leaning lobbying firm grew out of Mueller's inquiry into the finances of former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, according to the sources. As special counsel, Mueller has been tasked with investigating possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.
Manafort had organized a public relations campaign for a non-profit called the European Centre for a Modern Ukraine (ECMU). Podesta's company was one of many firms that worked on the campaign, which promoted Ukraine's image in the West. The sources said the investigation into Podesta and his company began as more of a fact-finding mission about the ECMU and Manafort's role in the campaign, but has now morphed into a criminal inquiry into whether the firm violated the Foreign Agents Registration Act, known as FARA. (Read more)
- Father, we know that the Podestas did evil things during the election. Let the real truth be known, and we pray that You will not allow Mueller to fabricate or obfuscate things he finds. He has gone far astray from his original task, and some are complaining about his heavy-handed actions, so we ask Your hand, Your purpose and direction in this investigation.
- "I will go before you and make the crooked places straight." (Isaiah 45:2a)
4. Lynch meets with House investigators on Russia, ignores questions on Clinton - Fox News
Former Attorney General Loretta Lynch met with members of the House Intelligence Committee on Friday as part of the probe looking into Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election. Lynch is one of several former Obama officials who have been called to Congress for closed-door questioning over the Russia accusations. But sources close to the investigation told Fox News that questions over her infamous tarmac meeting with President Bill Clinton also may have been on the agenda.
That June 27, 2016 meeting with Clinton on an airport tarmac in Phoenix raised questions about whether Lynch - or the Justice Department - could be impartial in the Hillary Clinton email investigation. Days after the tarmac meeting, then-FBI director James Comey called Hillary Clinton's actions "extremely careless" but did not seek criminal charges.
Lynch ignored three questions from Fox News' Catherine Herridge Friday morning on Capitol Hill, in reference to those issues. The first was whether Lynch instructed Comey to call the Clinton email probe a "matter" versus an "investigation," as he claims. Lynch also ignored questions on whether she sought permission from anyone in the White House before the tarmac meeting, and whether she could address any of the issues raised by Comey during his appearance before the Senate Intelligence Committee earlier this year. (Read more)
- Lord, we pray for truth to continually be revealed in these encounters on Capitol Hill. We pray that every deceitful wicked plan be shown plainly, and that all who hear about them will see truth. We ask that You remove the cover of deceit that has blinded the people.
- "To open blind eyes, to bring out prisoners from the prison, those who sit in darkness from the prison house." (Isaiah 42:7)
5. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson makes unannounced trip to Afghanistan - Washington Post
Secretary of State Rex Tillerson made an unannounced visit to Afghanistan on Monday to pledge U.S. support to its government after a week of Taliban attacks that killed more than 200 people.
After arriving from Doha, Qatar, Tillerson met with Afghan President Ashraf Ghani to reaffirm the U.S. commitment to helping Afghanistan win its war with the Taliban and achieve peace, according to U.S. and Afghan officials.
"I thought it was very important to stop here in Afghanistan coming to the South Asia region as part of the recently announced policy and strategy that President Trump put forth," Tillerson said after meeting with Ghani for about an hour. He referred to a U.S. buildup in Afghanistan that will add about 4,000 troops, for a total of 13,500 in the country. (Read more)
- Lord, we ask that You help Secretary Tillerson to accomplish his diplomatic missions with truth and unity with the President and the leaders of foreign nations. We take authority over strife and division, bind it up, and speak shalom peace to every point of tension.
- "The way of the wicked He turns upside down." (Psalm 146:9b)
6. Appeals court finds Bladensburg cross violates Constitution - AP
A federal appeals court has found that a towering cross on a Maryland state highway median just outside Washington violates the U.S. Constitution. A three-judge panel of the 4th U.S. Circuit of Appeals in Richmond ruled Wednesday that the 92-year-old monument known as the Bladensburg cross amounts to government sponsorship of a particular religion. The court overturned a 2016 ruling that said it was meant mostly as a secular commemoration of World War I.
The American Humanist Association said the 40-foot (12-meter) tall cross endorses Christianity while ignoring non-Christian veterans. The 4th Circuit said it "excessively entangles the government in religion" because the cross is the "core symbol of Christianity" and "breaches" the wall separating church and state. (Read more)
- Father, we are grieved that these kinds of rulings continue, attempting to remove You from every corner of American life. We repent for this folly, and pray that You will draw the United States back to Your heart.
- "O Lord, revive Your work in the midst of the years! In the midst of the years make it known; in wrath remember mercy." (Habakkuk 3:2)
7. Death toll from San Diego hepatitis A outbreak rises to 19; more than 500 cases confirmed - LA Times
San Diego's hepatitis A outbreak added another death Tuesday, pushing the total to 19 as the number of confirmed cases passed 500. Updated numbers released by the county Health and Human Services Agency come as a massive effort around vaccination, sanitation and public education continues to try and stop the largest surge of the viral disease since the vaccine for hepatitis A was approved in the late 1990s.
Last week, in a report to the San Diego County Board of Supervisors, Dr. Wilma Wooten, the county's public health officer, said that her department had 47 cases under investigation. Those cases don't get added to the outbreak totals until testing by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta confirms that they were caused by the same strains of hepatitis A that have caused other outbreak cases. - Father, we stand in the gap for the State of California, whose government and many of her citizens have walked far away from You. We plead for Your mercy over its people.

8. U.S. warns public about attacks on energy, industrial firms - Fox Business
The U.S government issued a rare public warning that sophisticated hackers are targeting energy and industrial firms, the latest sign that cyber attacks present an increasing threat to the power industry and other public infrastructure.
The Department of Homeland Security and Federal Bureau of Investigation warned in a report distributed via email late on Friday that the nuclear, energy, aviation, water and critical manufacturing industries have been targeted along with government entities in attacks dating back to at least May.
The objective of the attackers is to compromise organizational networks with malicious emails and tainted websites to obtain credentials for accessing computer networks of their targets, the report said. (Read more)
- Father, as we submit ourselves to You, we thank You that You can and will fight these battles for us. Amen.
- "But the LORD is with me like a dread champion; Therefore my persecutors will stumble and not prevail. They will be utterly ashamed, because they have failed, With an everlasting disgrace that will not be forgotten." (Jeremiah 20:11)
9. Federal tax loophole let Planned Parenthood build clinics financed with 'abortion bonds' - Washington Times
Federal taxpayer funding generally isn't allowed to be spent on abortions, but Republicans say they have spotted a loophole in which tax-free municipal bonds have been used to put federal cash on the line in order to help build abortion clinics - including Planned Parenthood's headquarters in New York.
Rep. Robert Pittenger, North Carolina Republican, will introduce legislation this week aimed at stopping what he called "abortion bonds." He said it's time to make the law agree with the principle that taxpayers shouldn't be on the hook in any way for the procedure. "We're utilizing the federal government to facilitate the development of these abortion clinics through the involvement of the American taxpayer, and they don't want that," Mr. Pittenger said.
Under current law, known as the Hyde Amendment policy, taxpayer funding is supposed to be limited to abortions in extreme cases of rape, incest or danger to the mother's life. (Read more)
- Father, thank You that this Congressman found the loophole and is moving to stop it. We pray that all loopholes utilized by Planned Parenthood and any other abortion providers will be closed immediately.
- "For He is coming, for He is coming to judge the earth. He shall judge the world with righteousness, and the peoples with His truth." (Psalm 96:13)
10. Harvard prof sues to alter presidential-election system - WND
As Democratic leaders such as Hillary Clinton call for elimination of the Electoral College, a Harvard professor who launched a brief, dark-horse Democratic presidential bid last year, is preparing to file a lawsuit challenging the way the nation elects its presidents.
Lawrence Lessig's suit doesn't propose getting rid of the Electoral College, which would require a constitutional amendment, but he contends the winner-take-all system used by 48 states in awarding electors unfairly focuses the presidential races on a handful of battlegrounds.
The professor - who tried to persuade 20 Trump electors to break rank and vote for Clinton a week before the Electoral College vote last December - wants to implement a system in which electors cast ballots based on a proportion of the popular vote a candidate receives.
"With a winner-take-all, most of America is ignored," Lessig said, according to FoxNews.com, contending the system violates the 14th Amendment's one-man-one-vote principle. (Read more)
- Lord, so many are upset that Donald Trump won the election, that now they are trying a new direction against the "winner take all" rules. We pray that this lawsuit will be dismissed and hold no effect.
- "They utter speech and speak insolent things; all the workers of iniquity boast in themselves." (Psalm 94:4)
11. Franklin Graham Ends Decision Texas Tour, Says Level of Hatred Toward Trump Is 'Unbelievable' - Christian Post
Evangelist Franklin Graham concluded his Decision Texas tour Thursday night before 9,000 people at Maude Cobb Convention and Activity Complex in Longview, where he warned that "hatred" is a growing problem in America. "It doesn't matter if your're a Democrat or a Republican or an Independent, I think all of us agree our country is in trouble," Graham said in a Facebook video from the event, which also included musical performances by Christian band Crowder. "The level of hatred in the media today toward our President (Donald Trump) is unbelievable, I've never seen anything like this in all my life," he added.
Trump has clashed with numerous media outlets throughout his term, often branding mainstream news reports as "fake news." In his speech, Graham condemned the "hatred" and "venom" that continues to seep every day in the country. (Read more)
- Father, we pray with Rev Graham, that this anger and hatred would be thwarted at every turn. Father we ask You to teach our President Your ways, and grant him a hedge of Holy Spirit fire as protection from the storms.
"The proud have me in great derision, yet I do not turn aside from Your law. I remembered Your judgments of old, O Lord, and have comforted myself." (Psalm 119:51,52)
12. Two Europes clash over Islam and Christianity - Arutz Sheva
Several days ago, thousands of Polish Catholics clutching rosary beads gathered at hundreds of locations along the country's border for a mass demonstration against the secularization of the country and the spread of Islam's influence in Europe.
The event, commemorating the 1571 Naval Battle of Lepanto between Christians, under orders from the Pope, and the Ottoman Muslim Empire, was the second-largest prayer event in Europe after the 2016 World Youth Day.
Marek Jedraszewski, the archbishop of Krakow, said: "Let's pray for other nations of Europe and the world to understand that we need to return to the Christian roots of European culture if we want Europe to remain Europe". In Brussels they may not like it, but the last chance to save Europe's Judeo-Christian roots might come from those who defeated the Ottomans in 1699 and now feel threatened by their heirs. (Read more)
- Father, we believe that You are the God of all creation, and nothing is too hard for You. We pray that Your Holy Spirit will move across Christendom, bringing all into Your truth and power. We pray that You will also move across the adherents of false religions, turning their hearts to You.
- "Ask of Me, and I will give You the nations for Your inheritance, and the ends of the earth for Your possession." (Psalm 2:8)

Just another hypocritical Monday
Headline after headline about sexual assault, rape, and perversion in Hollywood. More stories about how Harvey Weinstein used the fashion business as a pipeline to models that he sexually harassed or assaulted; or how about 38 women accusing Oscar nominated director James Toback of sexual harassment; or that Marilyn Manson guitarist "Twiggy Ramirez" being accused of domestic violence and rape? Nothing to see here, right? These are Democrats. They are the same people who were wearing their little pink vagina hats and protesting President Donald Trump at his inauguration. No speeches from Ashley Judd now. No declarations about wanting to blow up Grauman's Chinese Theatre from Madonna.
The silent hypocrisy is deafening. Moreover, it took a week for Democratic Presidential loser Hillary Clinton, who is close friends with Weinstein, to "condemn" his actions. Not much in the line of passion for the issue of how women are treated in the workplace, is it? While President Trump's actions were vulgar, he was not reported to be a serial rapist or systematic sexual assault perpetrator. Notwithstanding, the news media and the Hollywood elite-the very same folks who are holding their peace on Weinstein-skewered Trump and are still insisting he is a misogynist and is unfit to be president. If he is unfit to be president for the mistakes for which he apologized, what does this make Clinton and others for their tolerance of such systemic behavior in Hollywood?
Maybe Hillary Clinton is not-so-outraged because Weinstein, also one of her large donors, had the same M-O as her husband. Weinstein, it is reported, used his chauffeur to scout out and pick up girls for sex. Many of the patterns of Weinstein were the same as those of former President Bill Clinton, except Clinton's chauffeurs were Arkansas State Police and US Secret Service. This is on the hush-hush for decades, even though Hillary Clinton not only knew about it, but also tolerated it. Yet, someone they perceive as a threat to their power like Trump, is taken to the public woodshed repeatedly for his lapse of judgment and character.
This is just the way the left operates. It's all right for them to make millions, have sex parties, force people to do demeaning acts against their will, but they demonize their enemies for far less. How many times have you heard these folks decry those who make millions on the backs of the poor, yet what does a ticket at a movie theatre cost these days? They are like the scribes and Pharisees that Jesus described as hypocrites in Matthew 23:27-28, "...which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness. Even so you also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within you are full of hypocrisy and iniquity." But for Hollywood and the Democratic Party elite, it's just another hypocritical Monday.
Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

U.S. Allied Forces Claim Another Major Victory Over ISIS
The Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces are in a race with Russian-backed Syrian troops to seize parts of the oil-rich Deir el-Zour province. And now the SDF is in full control of the Al-Omar field there.
The field was estimated to produce around 9,000 barrels a day, making it a key source of revenue for the terrorists.
ISIS has suffered major setbacks in recent weeks, even being driven from the headquarters of their caliphate in the Syrian city of Raqqa.
Facing defeat across the region, ISIS terrorists have retaliated by killing more innocent civilians.
The bodies of at least 67 people have been found in one Syrian town that was once Islamic State territory.
Syrian troops and allied militias regained control of Qaryatayn, in Homs province, but quickly discovered what ISIS had done.
Some civilians were shot in the street as ISIS retreated from the town.
The death toll is expected to rise.
The Britain-based Syrian observatory for human rights documented the killings of at least 128 people killed during the last days of ISIS control of the town. (CBN)

Our Mission Statement
Capitol Hill Prayer Partners (CHPP) is a ministry which is positioned on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., helping members of the Body of Christ to "pray for those in authority over us" in our federal government. Our primary purpose is to offer intercession on site for the members of Congress and their staffs each day that the Senate and the House of Representatives are in session; and our chief prayer focus is that "God's will be done in earth, as it is in heaven."
