THE NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER, 2017:
A CAPSTONE MOMENT FOR OUR NATION
A Report from the NDP Cannon Prayer Watch Team
On this year's National Day of Prayer, which took place on May 4th, we who were in prayer on Capitol Hill all experienced a deep and powerful move of the Spirit of God . . . one which is even now transforming our nation. This visitation from on high is not to be kept under a bushel or hidden from view. Instead, the light of the presence of God, and this new corporate anointing, are both meant to shine across America, as a message from Heaven of God's love for His people, and as a testimony to His Glory.
We now present this report as a "birthday gift" to the people of America on this 4th of July and as a testimony to the power of God. There has been a shift in the heavens that was released that day - a true acceleration of the Kingdom - building work of the Spirit. God - ordained networks of believers are now coming together at a new level of authority and JOY . . . bringing us all to repentance and to REVIVAL. Truly, we are now witnessing a "set time" when our Lord IS placing the CAPSTONE on HIS TEMPLE, as we see His Kingdom approaching.
"This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel:'Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,' Says the Lord of hosts.'Who are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain!And he shall bring forth the capstone with shouts of "Grace, grace to it!"'" (Zechariah 4:6,7)

Introduction
Every year, the National Day of Prayer (NDP) is a very special day for intercessors across America. This is the one and only day of each year when we are all united, crying out for revival to visit our country, and moving in obedience to the federal statute: (Public Law 105-225).
Each year, during the National Day of Prayer, America's civil government aligns with God's Kingdom government, as we all join hearts and hands to "pray for all those in authority, according to I Timothy 2:1,2.
The following report is dedicated to the National Day of Prayer Task Force, whose members work tirelessly throughout each year to bring us to this day. In 2017, due to their unceasing efforts on behalf of the NDP, millions of believers gathered across the nation, in over 40,000 observances, to pray for our nation on May 4, 2017.
This year's theme, chosen by Anne Graham Lotz, the National Chairman of the National Day of Prayer, is:
For Your Great Name's Sake! Hear Us . . . Forgive Us . . . Heal Us! This theme was directly used from Daniel 9:19, which says,"O Lord, Listen! O Lord, Forgive! O Lord, Hear and Act! For Your Sake, O My God . . .". On May 4th, 2017, thousands of individuals, churches, and communities worked to rally millions of Christians to once again heed this call!
We respectfully submit the following report in honor of the work of the NDP Task Force and to its National Chairman, Anne Graham Lotz. Thank you for all you do for our land.

Introducing the NDP Cannon Prayer Watch
The NDP Cannon Prayer Watch was founded in the year 2000 by a local ministry to provide a place for intercessors to quietly support and lift up the NDP National Observance in prayer while it was taking place each year, in the Cannon House Office Building (CHOB). When the vision to establish this watch was submitted to the leadership of the NDP Task Force, it was immediately endorsed and honored. The primary mission of the Cannon Prayer Watch is to provide a "prayer shield" for the National Observance each year, so that God's will shall be fulfilled in that gathering.
The story you are about to read took place on Thursday, May 4, 2017 inside the Cannon Building, at the same time that this year's official National Observance was being held in the Statuary Hall of the U.S. Capitol Building.
Before this story is told, there are four specific details that must first be explained about this year's NDP Observance . . . each one testifying to the Sovereign move of God in its orchestration. These are: 1) the vision for revival; 2) the location of the event; 3) the timing of the event; and 4) the call to repentance which was the core theme of this year's program.

First: the Vision

First: the Vision
First, much like the time of the Great Awakening in years past, many have been hoping, praying, and waiting for revival to take place on Capitol Hill and in our land. Indeed, in a sovereign move of God several years ago, our Lord released the following word to the Chaplain of the U.S. Senate Chaplain, Dr. Barry Black:
"Revival should begin in America similar to the Great Awakening that happened many years ago. This revival should begin in the Washington, Maryland, Virginia area. D.C. is the epicenter for the revival that God wants to send. Certainly with the branches of government represented here - the judicial, executive, and legislative branch - this is a very important place to get things started. This place can be the engine for revival. It needs to start here - at the Nation's Capitol!"
Could it be that this vision, received by our Senate Chaplain many years ago, is now actually coming to pass?? As you read on, perhaps you will agree that, indeed, this is so!

Second: The Location of the Event
The second factor that probably led to the huge spiritual impact of that day was this fact: In all the years past, the National Observance of the National Day of Prayer had been held on Capitol Hill, in the Cannon House Office Building. It has never, however, been held in the Capitol Building itself.
This year, the LORD moved this Observance into the Capitol Building - to be held inside Statuary Hall. In doing so, the level of authority we all released increased greatly, so that heaven was impacted at a "higher level" than in days past. Working together on Capitol Hill (the Prayer Watch undergirding the Official Observance), a corporate anointing of unity was birthed in Washington, D.C., waiting to be released to the nation! Praise be to the Lord for His orchestration in all things!

Third: the Timing of the Event
Third, over the past seventeen years, the official observance of the National Day of Prayer was traditionally held at 9:00 a.m. As we met each year at that hour to honor the National Day of Prayer, we in the nation's capital were also were prophetically "launching" or "birthing" an anointing for that day that would then reach all across America, as the many other observances also began to take place in every other time zone in the nation. Once again, by simply moving in obedience to the leading of our Lord, this "birthing anointing" was being released - establishing a "sound" in heaven that would then be a blessing for those of us on earth.
In addition, due to the tireless and dedicated work of the NDP Task Force throughout the preceding year, millions of intercessors joined forces in unity - at that set time - to pray for our nation, year after year after year . . .
To learn what happened next, we turn to Scripture, because the energy of intercession had by then been building and increasing throughout this day, while in heaven, Revelation 5:8 records what God was doing with those prayers. It is written:
"Now when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints."
Therefore, by the end of the day rather than at the beginning, those vials were filled with the prayers of the saints. Filled to the BRIM, they tipped over, and God's will was done on earth as it had been done in heaven! HALLELUJAH! His timing and His ways are perfect in all things! Our Lord had sovereignly called all of us on Capitol Hill - in Cannon AND in Statuary Hall -- to be those who would capture the energy of those prayers which had been stored up in vials of the heavens! As we continued in prayer, then, we all experienced the PALPABLE PRESENCE of our Lord among us! What an AMAZING GOD we serve!

Fourth: A Deep Call to Repentance
In addition to the time adjustment, Anne Graham Lotz planned the program for the official National Observance and she dedicated at least half of their time together praying prayers of intercession for repentance. These intercessory prayers of repentance were offered for both personal and national sins. To add more fuel to the fire of the Holy Spirit, not only was there an extended amount of time given to repentance this year, but this was also the first year those prayers had been offered inside the Capitol Building itself. This was indeed unprecedented!

Establishing the Prayer Watch: "Expect the Unexpected!"

That afternoon, our core team assembled to prepare Room 121 in the Cannon Building for His presence to be with us. Intending to both decorate this room accordingly, and to pray over the atmosphere therein, something totally unexpected happened. [The Lord had already prepared the heart of the watch leader earlier in the week by warning her to "expect the unexpected," and indeed the unexpected did happen!]
Sadly and suddenly, one of our intercessors, a dear sister named Debbie, started to have trouble breathing. We tried to help but to no avail, so we sought the immediate assistance of the on-site medical unit in the Cannon building, who determined that this was a serious situation and called an ambulance. Debbie was taken to George Washington University Hospital with an asthma attack that was severe. (We later learned that this attack was, indeed, a life-threatening episode!)
Meanwhile, we all remained in our room and joined in continuous prayer until we could ascertain that our dear Debbie was out of immediate danger. . .
When I asked our Lord what all of this meant (as our own schedule to prepare the room had, by now, gone out the window), He said, "Tell My people that you are now engaged in a life-or-death battle for the destiny of your nation!"
WOW! Expect the Unexpected for sure!

The NDP Cannon Prayer Watch Begins
At 5:30, registration was opened for those who had pre-registered to join us on this watch, and all enjoyed a time of unstructured fellowship as they gathered. Our anointed worship leader was on his keyboard, soaking the atmosphere with the fragrance of Christ. At 6:00 p.m., our own program began, which would continue for the next three hours. We had planned to allow 90 minutes in prayer for our own identified prayer targets, and worship; and the remaining 90 minutes in alignment with the formal program when it began at 7:30 p.m. Meanwhile, as our "troops" were gathering, others were being cleared in as guests at the Official NDP Observance in Statuary Hall (Capitol Building). We were all united in the Spirit "as one," to serve and to honor the National Day of Prayer.
In Cannon, the watch leader was a bit concerned, as our teams had not been able to really "press in" and prepare our site to welcome the presence of God, due to the medical emergency we had just witnessed. But no need to worry! His grace is always sufficient, and the anointing these prayer warriors brought in with them indicated that Holy Spirit had previously prepared them to come to the throne with a confidence and boldness never witnessed in times past.
This anointing was so evident and powerful that those who gathered to pray came ready to worship: so much so that the sound of worship was one unified love song unto the Lord as we read in Revelation 5. Indeed, the worship leader for that night reported, "These people came, ready to worship, and ready to pray. This is why the move of the Spirit was so strong here tonight."
Footnote:
As we digress, what you have read and what you are going to read are the ingredients for the next Great Awakening that will strike the world. Everyone came that night with the same expectation and desire - much like King David's expectation and desire. He desired to live in the presence of the Lord - not to be a king - but to wait on the Lord with great expectation in the presence of God. This entire story, from top to bottom and from the bottom to the top, is a beautiful illustration of the desire these prayer warriors - in the Cannon Building and in Statuary Hall - possessed in order to usher in the presence of God to be restored in the hearts of men and women throughout the United States. THIS IS THE HEART OF REVIVAL!

The Prayer Watch Continues . . .
As the evening hours progressed, God began to release what He wanted to do - so during the first 90 minutes of our time together (before the program began in Statuary Hall), the Lord told Sara Ballenger to scrap a good portion of her own agenda and program. Instead, we all knew that THE WORSHIP WAS THE WARFARE, and so we continued on . . . In other words, God wanted us to get out of His way so that He could fully have His way; and He definitely showed us His way that night.
We continued to pray and worship until the set time that the attendees in Statuary Hall would begin their formal observance at 7:30 p.m., to be broadcast online as well. As they prayed through the program, the intercessors in the prayer watch ("off site in a manger") prayed with them by covering each speaker and worshipper in the Capitol Building with intercession as we had planned to do. In Room 121 Cannon where we were located, each guest received the same program that others were given in Statuary Hall so that our intercession aligned with theirs. Sara Ballenger reported,
"As in all past 20 years or so, we prayed aloud over each speaker on the agenda and into the topic they addressed. For example, when they witnessed the military's Trooping of the Colors, we prayed for the military. When Chaplain Black offered his opening prayer, we prayed for both chaplains in the House and in the Senate. In this fashion, we prayed through the program of the National Observance along with the participants . . . but then, when we began to focus on repentance, GOD took over and moved in . . ."

The Anointing Builds . . .
Amazingly, the anointing in the Cannon Building - the very presence of Christ - kept building and building and building! At one point, Sara called for the sound of the shofar - we believe this was to call forth an even deeper and greater move of the Spirit in the halls of Congress - but no one had brought a shofar!
The space in room 121 was not the biggest space, but it gave us a feeling of closeness, togetherness, and perhaps an even greater commitment to earnest prayer. Due to the closeness of proximity, there was a unique synergy that was unexplainable. We felt the anointing of God so powerfully that when Sara instructed us to gather in groups of four to five people - certainly the closeness in proximity became very evident. The closer we came together - the nearer we felt to God. At about 8:15 p.m. Anne Graham Lotz, introduced the prayers of repentance for personal sins in Statuary Hall and simultaneously we began to pray the same prayers of repentance for personal sins as well. We spent about 20 minutes repenting for personal sins and then we moved on to praying prayers of repentance for the sins of the nation.
As we prayed, the anointing of God escalated to a greater dimension throughout the room. Some would call this anointing powerful, but Sara called it, "Electric!" Just as the prayers and the anointing grew stronger, we suddenly heard a long trumpet blast. Thanks be to God, an intercessor blew the shofar very powerfully! Not only was the anointing electrifying and the prayers were relentlessly violent, but the sound of prayer grew so loud that the Sara had to ask us to lower our voices. Sara was not ashamed, nor did she disdain the "violent taking what the enemy had attempted to steal by force", so she allowed the full release of the anointing that was falling.

A Visitation from God!
Meanwhile, heaven came down exactly at 8:25 p.m., which was during the transition from repenting for personal sins to national sins. One witness said,
"The electricity of the Spirit intensified, and the shofar sounded once again. At that point, heaven opened up above us, and the building actually SHOOK because of the presence of the Lord!"
Sara asked her friends who were sitting next to her if they felt the building shaking and they nodded in agreement. "Maybe the Metro went under our building," we thought. But there was no way possible that the Metro subway could have taken credit for the shaking because after being in this room for several hours during the day, a train never traveled under the building. We realized that this shaking was due to the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ!
At the height of this intense intercession . . . and wave of GLORY . . . duty called. We were supposed to have ended at 9:00 p.m. but when we looked at the clock it was already 8:45 p.m. The reality is that when God moves, all agendas, plans, and schedules become secondary. So we quickly brought the teams back into order, offered a prayer of benediction, and began heading home.

Conclusion
To bring this story into a clearer perspective, God's intention was to unlock the heavens over this event and His new location was the integral key to this unlocking. The change in location to the Capitol Building released an even greater authority over this day than we had seen in previous years.
As many have attempted to continue to process all that happened that night, our Lord quickened Luke 24:47,48 to us - a key to His strategy. It is written:
" . . . repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. And you are witnesses of these things."
On the National Day of Prayer, 2017, repentance had been proclaimed from the capital city, Washington, D.C., which is our own "Jerusalem" to go forth throughout the land. By placing the National Observance at night in the Capitol Building at the end of the work day, our Lord sovereignly captured the prayers of millions of saints already offered unto Him that day, and placed a capstone on His temple.
We believe that we have now reached a finish line in the work of building His kingdom together. Since that day, we have witnessed (and MANY are reporting this) that there has been a tremendous acceleration in the kingdom-building work of the Spirit and that many connections are coming together in the Body of Christ, advancing His Gospel to the nations. Hallelujah! How blessed we are to be living in this generation: for such a time as THIS!
And finally, one saint who was there with us in Room 121 Cannon HOB that evening, wrote this report of what she observed in the Spirit: "This is a powerful documentation of the actual events that led up to the clouds parting above our heads and the glory of an open heaven above us that was seen in a vision. The Lord spoke that Washington, D.C. would never be the same. God was going to bring a transformation that would change the atmosphere over D.C. So it shall come to pass. Praise the Lord for His mighty power over our nation."

Dear Friends,
Donnie and I have taken several weeks to carefully research, document and write a true report of the Move of the Spirit in the Cannon Building on the National Day of Prayer.
Clearly, a power has now been unleashed across our nation, that will lead many to repentance, and salvation through the Blood of the Lamb.

We have noticed, for example, these "Capstone" manifestations in our own walk in Christ:
