GOD SENDS A SIGN OF LIFE IN THE SKIES OVER ISRAEL

Amazing. Above Israel, "Chai" shines -- the Hebrew symbol of life!

Please note:

Even though some of the headlines we bring you are naming "Palestine" as a state, in the Word of God there is no "Palestine." Rather, the correct terminology is "the West Bank" or "Judea and Samaria." The only state is the state of Israel.

Due to legal constraints, we are not allowed to change text we are forwarding to you. Thank you for hearing our heart in this critical matter.

1. Iran-backed jihadi group claims expansion to West Bank, Jerusalem - Times of Israel

Palestinian jihadi group with close ties to Iran claimed on Wednesday that it has expanded out of the Gaza Strip and is now operating in the West Bank and Jerusalem as well.

"We have an armed branch whose goal it is to wage war on the Israeli occupation everywhere," Hisham Salim, founder of the Harakat al-Sabireen, told the Palestinian Ma'an news agency.

"Within this framework we have members in the West Bank and Jerusalem who will soon receive financial and military support from us," he said. (Read more)

2. Israeli Air Force Conducts Strike Along Gaza Border - New York Times

JERUSALEM - The Israeli Air Force struck a target along the border with northern Gaza on Wednesday, hitting what the military said was a squad of Palestinian militants planning to attack Israeli forces in the area with a bomb.

The missile strike killed a Palestinian man, Mousa Zuaitar, 33, and wounded three more, according to Wafa, the official Palestinian news agency.

Israeli airstrikes and explosions along Israel's border with Gaza have been rare since August 2014, when a cease-fire ended 50 days of fighting between Israel and Hamas, the Islamic militant group that controls the coastal territory, although occasional rocket attacks and sniper fire against Israel have been reported. 3. Israel blasts Swedish FM for 'supporting terrorism, encouraging violence' - Jerusalem Post

Swedish Foreign Minister Margot Wallström is supporting terrorism and encouraging violence, the Foreign Ministry said Tuesday in a sharply worded statement, after she once again attacked Israel in Sweden's parliament.

Wallström on Tuesday called for an investigation to determine if Israel was guilty of extrajudicial killings of Palestinians during the recent wave of violence, local media reported.

"It is vital that there is a thorough, credible investigation into these deaths in order to clarify and bring about possible accountability," she said during a parliamentary debate, according to news agency TT. (Read more)

4. Netanyahu to run unopposed in Likud primary - Israel Hayom

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will be the only candidate on the ballot when the Likud party holds its leadership election on Feb. 23. The deadline for joining the primary race was on Sunday, and Netanyahu was the only candidate to officially file papers.

The party's Central Election Committee was set to convene on Monday to discuss the implications of having only one candidate for the leadership.

Some party members have floated the idea of scrapping the election entirely. But another idea, which appeared to be gaining traction, was to let voters cast an empty white slip as a protest vote, although blank votes will have no impact on the final results. In any event, the committee was poised to move the election up to early February.

Netanyahu has asked the Likud's election officials not to cancel the election, and on Sunday, Likud members said voting was a key component of selecting a party leader. (Read more)

5. 600 Jews encircle the Temple Mount in prayer - Israel National News

Around 600 Jews took part in a march around the Temple Mount in Jerusalem on Sunday night for Rosh Chodesh, welcoming the Jewish month of Shevat with prayer in a traditional march around the gates.

The participants prayed at each gate of the Mount, the holiest site in Judaism, in a monthly call for the construction of the Third Temple.

Standing out among the marchers was a large group of Jewish girls from France, who arrived for a year of studies in Israel and took part in the traditional Temple Mount march for the first time. They spoke about how the event was particularly moving for them.

Rabbi Yossi Peli, who teaches at Od Yosef Chai Yeshiva in Yitzhar and is an organizer of the event, said there was a unique atmosphere in the Temple Mount march this month.

"In the month of Shevat we begin to feel the blossoming and the renewal of the year," said the rabbi. "The true renewal for the nation of Israel and all of humanity is tied to the aspiration for the Holy Temple." (Read more)

6. Iran holds Holocaust-denying cartoon contest - YNET News

Iran has announced that it will be holding a cartoon contest aimed at creating caricatures denying the Holocaust. This year, the contest's grand prize has been increased from $12,000 to $50,000.

The contest, organized by the Teheran municipal authority, is calling for cartoonists worldwide to send in works denying and satirizing the Holocaust. Unlike previous contests of this kind, this one is especially significant due the fact that it is organized by official authorities of the Iranian capital, and has an international emphasis. The prize money is also several times what it was before. (Read more)

7. IDF readying itself for threat from ISIS in the Sinai - Ynet News

The Islamic State terror organization's forces have been combating Egyptian forces for some time, but Israel is now preparing for the possible day when the fighting crosses its border. A tense kind of quiet has characterized the Israel-Egypt border for the past year. The desert area has seen the threat of the Islamic State group grow in that time, leading the IDF to realize that it could end up affecting Israel directly. (Read more)

8. Istanbul attack reveals Erdogan's crumbling sense of stability - Jerusalem Post

A terrorist bombing on Tuesday in the heart of Istanbul's major tourism district that killed 10 people and left 15 injured showed the fragility of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's security promises. "It has become apparent how important stability is to our nation," Erdogan said in November, during the country's national election.

By targeting the vibrant area of the former Ottoman Empire, the alleged Islamic State suicide bomber, Saudi- born Nabil Fadli, sought to further decimate Turkey's struggling tourism industry. The terrorist attack jolted the state, prompting a government ordered media blackout. Turkey initially reported that the suicide bomber was a Syrian.

The bombing was likely a retaliatory move by Islamic State following Turkey's crackdown on rising jihadism within its territory and along the 500-mile border it shares with Syria, as well as its shared border with Iraq.

Just last week Erdogan announced that Turkish forces killed 18 members of Islamic State after the terrorists sought to enter a training camp in the Bashiqa region of northern Iraq. (Read more)

1. Iran's Humiliation Of Barack Obama Is Now Complete - The Federalist

This was no friendly maritime assist by Iran. It was a coordinated humiliation of Barack Obama by a regime that has embarrassed the president at every turn. Ten American military personnel were arrested and detained by Iran on Tuesday, and President Barack Obama said not a word about it during his final State of the Union address on Tuesday evening.

His administration swore up and down that Iran was just doing a solid work for our sailors and Marines, whose boats, we are told, had apparently broken down. Obama's spokesman said the capture and detention of American servicemen and servicewomen were exactly why we had to lift sanctions on Iran and bless its enrichment of uranium. His surrogates whispered to media allies that rather than provoking the Iranians to attack the U.S., Obama's nuclear deal really made it possible for the U.S. to free its captured personnel who never should have been in Iranian custody in the first place.

The Obama administration gave us its word that Iran had no "hostile intent" when it captured ten Americans, forced their surrender at gunpoint, and then demanded an American apology for the whole affair. And then Iran released these photos of the nine men and one woman who were arrested at sea by the Iranians.(Read more)

- Father, this situation shows us that The Obama Administration is so deluded that it thinks Iran is a "friend." Lord, we know that this nation who chants "Death to America" is no friend of ours. We ask in the Mighty Name of Jesus that You will find a way to awaken the American people as a whole to the lies and deception of this administration, and protect our military from such humiliation. In Jesus' name, amen.

- "Draw near to my soul, and redeem it; deliver me because of my enemies. You know my reproach, my shame, and my dishonor; my adversaries are all before You . . ." (Psalm 69:18,19)

2. More Explosions Reported in Jakarta - New York Times

Indonesian network TVOne says at least three more explosions have taken place in Jakarta. It says the explosions occurred Thursday in Cikni, Silpi and Kuningan neighborhoods, near the Turkish and Pakistani embassies.

It did not say if there were any casualties in the blasts that occurred after three explosions took place in downtown Jakarta earlier.

Witnesses are reporting three suicide bomb explosions took place at a Starbucks cafe in downtown Jakarta.

A bank security guard says he saw at least five attackers, including three suicide bombers who exploded themselves in a Starbucks cafe in downtown Jakarta.

Tri Seranto tells The Associated Press he was out on the street when he saw the three men entering Starbucks and saw them blowing themselves up one by one. He says the other two attackers, carrying handguns, entered a police post from where he heard gunfire. He said he later saw one policeman dead and three seriously injured. (Read more)

UPDATE: Threat alerts USA is reporting that the U.S. Embassy in Jakarta has been closed at least until Friday.

- Lord God, once again we see violence visiting a major city in what will no doubt prove to be an attack by Islamist Jihadists. Lord, we ask that You call forth Your angelic host to stand guard over Indonesia tonight, and to comfort all who have been affected by these attacks. Grant Your wisdom to those in authority, Lord, so that further violence might be curtailed. We ask this in Your Name, amen and amen.

- "Bless the Lord, you His angels, Mighty in strength, who perform His word, Obeying the voice of His word!" (Psalm 103:20)

3. Al-Qaida chief called for Islamic Caliphate in East Asia prior to Indonesia attacks - Jerusalem Post

On Wednesday, a few hours before Indonesia's capital, Jakarta, witnessed multiple explosions, al-Qaida's media institution, Al-Sahab, released a video of al-Qaida's leader, Ayman Al-Zawahiri, urging jihadists in Nusantara (an Indonesian term used by jihadists to describe East Asia) to "exert efforts to eliminate the secular regimes in Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines and replace them with Islamic regimes based on Sharia." (Read more)

- Lord God, now we see evidence that this was, indeed, a plot planned by Islamic jihadists. Keep Your people safe, O Lord we pray, in Your name, amen.

- ""Because he has loved Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him securely on high, because he has known My name. "He will call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in [e]trouble; I will rescue him and honor him." (Psalm 91:14,15)

4. ISIS Tells Western Brothers to Pretend to Be Christian and Shave to Avoid Detection - Christian Post

An ISIS document circulating online has advises their terrorist brothers in the Western world to pretend to be Christian to avoid detection by intelligence agencies. The document, titled "Safety and Security guidelines for Lone Wolf Mujahideen and small cells," was translated from Arabic to English from a series released by al-Fajr Media Centre a few years ago in Arabic, according a note from the translator. "We present you this modest work for lone wolf Mujahideen and small cells of brothers who want to bring victory to this religion. It was initially meant for Mujahideen groups (organizations) and not lone wolves, but we have tried to adapt it and pick what's important and leave what's not relevant for an individual Mujahid and small groups," explains the note from the translator. (Read more)

- Oh, Lord, we ask You to fully and completely interfere in the plans of these men for evil. We call all plans from evil hearts to failure. We pray that You would send laborers into the harvest to convert these people who are full of hate. We pray that as they "pretend" to be Christians, that they will indeed come to full salvation in You. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen!

- "And they said, there is no hope: but we will walk after our own devices, and we will everyone do the imagination of his evil heart." (Jeremiah 18:12)

5. WHO Declares End to Ebola Epidemic After 11,300 Deaths -CNSNews.com

The World Health Organization declared an end to the deadliest Ebola outbreak ever on Thursday after no new cases emerged in Liberia, though health officials warn that it will be several more months before the world is considered free of the disease that claimed more than 11,300 lives over two years.

Thursday's success comes after a harrowing toll: Nearly 23,000 children lost at least one parent or caregiver to the disease. Some 17,000 survivors are trying to resume their lives though many battle mysterious, lingering side effects. Studies continue to uncover new information about how long Ebola can last in bodily fluids.

Liberia, which along with Sierra Leone and Guinea was an epicenter of the latest outbreak, was first declared free of the disease last May, but new cases emerged two times - forcing officials there to restart the clock.

"While this is an important milestone and a very important step forward, we have to say that the job is still not done," said Rick Brennan, WHO director of emergency risk assessment and humanitarian response, at a news conference in Geneva. "That's because there is still ongoing risk of re-emergence of the disease because of persistence of the virus in a proportion of survivors." (Read more)

- Heavenly Father, we are saddened by the number of lives that have been affected by this Ebola outbreak, but are thankful it's life has come to a close. The agencies have gathered and continue to gather vital information on how it spreads to infect the masses and the treatment of this disease. We are thankful that a vaccine has been developed to prevent this Ebola disease, and that ways have been found to confine this disease once it has been detected.

Lord God, We are so thankful for the medical community and workers that were involved with the care and treatment of the thousands that suffered during the Ebola outbreak, and for those that remain in the communities to help where it's needed.

Abba Father, we lift up in prayer the many lives and families that have been torn apart by this deadly disease, and believe that help has arrived to meet their ongoing needs . . . In Jesus name . . . Amen

- "Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness, nor the disaster that strikes at midday." (Psalm 91:6)

6. Corporate-Credit Outlook at Worst Since Crisis, S&P Says - Bloomberg

The outlook for corporate borrowers worldwide is the worst since the global financial crisis, according to Standard & Poor's.

Potential downgrades at the ratings company exceed possible upgrades by the most since 2009, in percentage terms, according to a Jan. 11 report. The difference widened the most since the financial crisis in the past six months, S&P said.

The corporate-debt outlook has darkened, particularly in Latin America, because of slower growth in China and a commodity rout that's cut prices to the lowest since at least 1991. Company defaults have already risen to the highest since 2009 and investors are demanding the biggest yield in four years to hold junk bonds. (Read more)

- Man may make plans, but You, Oh Lord, are in charge of the provision for Your children! While doom and gloom may be forecast in the worldly financial markets, there is light in the land of Goshen for those who look to You for their finances. Thank You and praise You, Father, for looking after Your children. May the trust Your people put in You be a light that draws all men to You. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

- "He provides food for those who fear him: he remembers his covenant forever." (Psalms 111:5)

7. Here We Go Again: Atheist Launches New Court Battle to Remove God from U.S. Currency - Charisma News

"In God We Trust" on U.S. currency violates "the constitutional rights" of the country's atheist population, and must be removed, according to a new lawsuit. "The 'In G-d We Trust' phrase has continued to be a tool used to perpetuate favoritism for (Christian) Monotheism," the suit states, according to cleveland.com. "It has also continued to perpetuate anti-atheistic bias."

Attorney and outspoken atheist Michael Newdow filed the suit this week in Ohio. However, he already lost a suit in California in 2010 over the same currency issue. Newdow's also lobbied to remove "under God" from the Pledge of Allegiance. (Read more)

- In the strong name of Jesus, we come against this attack on the Judeo-Christian foundation of our country and call for a strong pushback to this threat against Christianity in America. Lord, we thank You for the plans You put in the hearts of our forefathers to establish a country that honored You. May these people who are resisting You come into repentance.

- "'As I live,' says the Lord, 'every knee shall bow to Me, and every tongue shall confess to God.'" (Romans 14:11)

8. IRS May Still Be Targeting Conservative Groups - Americans for Tax Reform

Serious internal control flaws mean the IRS may still be unfairly selecting Americans for an audit "based on an organization's religious, educational, political, or other views," according to a pair of reports released by the Government Accountability Office (GAO) today.

As GAO notes, certain deficiencies increase the risk of unfair audit selection based on a taxpayer's First Amendment rights. As the report finds: "The control deficiencies increase the risk of selecting organizations for audit in an unfair manner-for example, based on an organization's religious, educational, political, or other views."

GAO audited Wage & Investment (W&I) and Small Business/Self-employed (SB/SE) divisions in response to a request from House Ways & Means Committee members led by Chairman Kevin Brady (R-Texas) and Oversight Subcommittee Chairman Peter Roskam (R-Ill.). These requests were made in response to IRS targeting conservative groups. This targeting resulted in just one conservative non-profit being granted tax exempt status over a three year period. . . (Read more)

- Lord God, We see the writing on the wall . . . Father we know that no authority can come against your people unless You allow it. We know that your eyes look to and fro to bring down unrighteousness. Father look quickly into this matter of Americans being targeted because of religious, educational and political belief.Hide us under the radar of your precious blood.. In Jesus Name!

- "Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end; but establish the just . . ." (Psalm 7:9)

9. Michigan National Guard, FEMA help Flint amid water crisis - Washington Post

Members of the Michigan National Guard began arriving in Flint on Wednesday for briefings on the drinking water crisis just as state health officials reported a spike in Legionnaires' disease cases in the county where the city is located.

Gov. Rick Snyder activated the National Guard late Tuesday, and Lt. Col. William Humes confirmed about a half-dozen representatives arrived Wednesday morning. They are part of a larger contingent of Guardsmen who will help distribute bottled water, filters and other supplies to residents.

Flint's tap water became contaminated with too much lead after the city switched its water supply in 2014 to save money while under state financial management. Local officials first declared a public health emergency in October in response to tests that showed children with elevated levels of lead.

"I'm glad the state is putting in resources and we welcome the Michigan National Guard with open arms," Flint Mayor Karen Weaver said in a statement. "However, we also need federal assistance as we continue to cope with this man-made water disaster." (Read more)

- Father God, we repent on behalf of those city authorities who, in 2014, tried to save money by adopting this dangerous water supply system. Lord God, teach us Your ways, and help us to always put the needs of people first. Protect the children of Flint, Michigan, we pray in Jesus' name , amen and amen.

- "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do." (Luke 23:34)

SOTU viewership down, Americans fed up with the lies

The "president's" State of the Union (SOTU) address was viewed by the fewest number of people compared with his other addresses, which also declined from his first one. According to Deadline.com, among adults 18-49, early numbers indicated NBC's coverage of the SOTU even with last year's, but the other networks declined. ABC and CBS both were down 9% and 23% respectively from 2015. Fox saw its SOTU coverage fall 30%. The cumulative demographic rating is down 14% from 2015. It is clear that most Americans are fed up with the "president's" lectures and prefer watching reruns of home and garden shows to listening to political spin that has little to do with real life in America.

Many Daily Jot readers were representative of Americans who tuned out. CD wrote, "For [sic, the "president"] there is no truth, only lies, because he lives in an alternate reality with his Marxist cohorts. Unfortunately this nation has to suffer through his lies and deal with the reality his lies have created." SW wrote: "Very difficult to keep a liar from lying. It is a habit and a commitment and a strategy... We know they are lying and we do nothing to stop them because while they are lying, we are sleeping...I could not watch another hour of O telling lies so I read my book instead. I am much happier in the knowledge that, for a short time at least, I can still stop watching liars lie. Someday that may not be an option."

From Africa, WD commented: "Thank God he is not the president of an African or a 3rd world country. If he were, he would indisputably end up to be the most notorious dictator ever in the world!" HB wrote: "We can't stand to look at him let alone a listen...Proverbs 14:7, "LEAVE the presence of a fool or you will not discern words of knowledge." Proverbs 17:7: "Excellent speech is not fitting for a fool, much less are lying lips to a prince."" EM added: "He is a monster who works for monsters who hate America. This kind of orchestrated evil is happening all over the world. It is baffling...It really appears like there is a worldwide mental illness that has taken hold of the leaders of the nations."

ES wrote: "I'm going to forward this to several - see if I can get SOME kind of response from some of my liberal relatives - open some kind of line of dialogue. Thankfully above many other things, and barring something highly unusual, we won't have to endure this kind of lying mockery from our so called "president" ever again, so in my view, things are actually already starting to look up, even if just in some small way. Oddly, I feel so much peace just at that thought alone, though I know we are far from out of the woods. But it's a blessed opportunity for me to stop and take just a moment to say "Thank you Jesus!!!!!" Yeah, brother...That was worth five exclamation points." There were many more, but you can see from the comments why people are disconnecting. Let us all remember to reconnect as we choose our leaders wisely.

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

Obama's Humiliation

Obama's Humiliation

The Obama Administration is on "spin overdrive" trying to downplay Iran's seizure of two U.S. ships and ten sailors. Secretary of State John Kerry literally thanked the Iranians for their help. Vice President Joe Biden brushed off the incident, saying, "This was just standard nautical practice."

Standard practice? Sorry, Joe, but we're not that dumb.

The front page of today's Washington Post features outrageous photos, provided by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corp (IRG), of Barack Obama's latest humiliation of America. See them here. They show our sailors on their knees, hands behind their heads, as prisoners of the IRG. In another photo, the lone female sailor is seen wearing an Islamic headscarf. I'm fairly certain that is not standard issue in the U.S. Navy. Iran's theocratic thugs forced her to demonstrate her submission by putting it on.

The chief of staff of the Iranian Army said yesterday that the seizure of our patrol boats "should be a lesson to troublemakers in the U.S. Congress." (The House of Representatives yesterday voted to maintain certain sanctions against the Revolutionary Guard Corps.) An Iranian admiral said that his missile forces had targeted the USS Harry Truman and that their communications with us made it clear that "the [Iranian] Navy has the first and the last word" in the Persian Gulf. And Iranian state television broadcast what it said was a confession and apology from the commanding U.S. officer.

Does that sound like standard practice in a friendly rescue to you?

Human rights experts are pointing out that Iran's behavior likely violated the Geneva Conventions regarding the treatment of captured military personnel. And even if there was mechanical trouble, the Iranians had no right to seize and detain our sailors. Yet they did, and pointedly humiliated them. And the always compliant Obama Administration says, "Thank you." (Gary Bauer)

WWRD -- What Would Reagan Do?

WWRD -- What Would Reagan Do?

Barack Obama is not the first president to run into trouble with the Iranians over free passage in the Persian Gulf. What would Ronald Reagan?

Well, we don't have to guess. Ronald Reagan demonstrated how an American president should respond to such aggression after an American ship struck an Iranian mine on April 14, 1988.

Reagan said, "They must know that we will protect our ships, and if they threaten us, they will pay a price." Indeed they did!

Reagan ordered Operation Praying Mantis, and within 24 hours the United States Navy had decimated Iran's naval forces. (Gary Bauer)

Paris Style Terror Attack Kills 7 and Injures 10 in Indonesian Capitol

Attackers set off a series of explosions in a bustling shopping area of Indonesia's capital city Thursday morning in what authorities said was an imitation of last November's terror attacks in Paris that killed 130 people.

All five attackers and a Canadian and an Indonesian died in the midmorning explosions and gunfire that were watched by office workers from high-rise buildings on Thamarin Street in Jakarta, not far from the presidential palace and the U.S. Embassy, police said. Another 19 people were injured. (Fox News) Read more.

Signs and Wonders

A very strange hurricane just popped up in the Pacific

On January 11, 2016, tropical storm Pali strengthened to a hurricane, becoming the earliest hurricane ever recorded over the Central Pacific Basin in a calendar year.

NASA's Terra satellite captured this view of the storm spinning over the Central Pacific. The image shows that Pali had developed a clear eye, as well as pronounced cirrus banding along much of the storm's perimeter.
Using observations made shortly after this image was acquired, meteorologists classified the storm as a category-1 hurricane, with maximum sustained winds of 140 kilometers (90 miles) per hour. Its location far from Hawaii-about 2,300 kilometers (1,400 miles) to the southwest-meant that Pali's main effect was to churn up higher-than-usual surf. The cyclone peaked on January 12 as a category-2 storm, then weakened back to category 1 the following day. (Business Insider) Read more here.

The Evil Abuse Haiti's Boys Have Endured that Led One Woman to Begin a Unique Rescue

(Cap Haitian, Haiti)-[CBN News] Each morning Linsey Jorgenson wonders if the street children of Cap Haitian will choose the refuge she offers or try to survive on their own. "The first thing I do is pray because you need God to do this job," Jorgenson said.

Building Trust

Jorgenson is the founder of Streethearts, an organization born from a bond with the kids who captured her heart.

"They're forced into adulthood at 5, 6, 7 years old and the longer they're on the street the harder it is to reverse their mentality, or to come in and try to help guide them, because at that point they've already been so wronged that they feel like they know everything and everybody is against them," Jorgenson explained.
