1. Jerusalem experiences day of violence - YNET News
Several firebombs were thrown at a border police vehicle in East Jerusalem's A-Tur neighborhood on Wednesday night, mere hours after a convicted killer stabbed a border policeman near Damascus gate in Jerusalem's Old City.
One of the firebombs hit the border police jeep, setting the vehicle alight. The policemen in the vehicle managed to free themselves, while the fire began spreading to nearby cars. (Read more)
2. Rocket fired from Gaza lands in Israeli territory - Jerusalem Post
A rocket fired from the Gaza Strip landed in an open area in Israel in the Eshkol Regional Council after midnight on Thursday. (Read more)
3. Hamas: 'Every Israeli is now a legitimate target' following Duma terror attack - Jerusalem Post
Hamas said Friday that every Israeli is now a legitimate target following the deadly terror attack in the village of Duma in which a Palestinian toddler was killed, Israel Radio reported. In an official message to the public, Hamas also called for a "day of rage" to protest the deadly terror attack and "in order to protect al-Aksa mosque." (Read more)
4. Israel Air Force targets Hamas munitions operation in Gaza after rocket attack - Jerusalem Post
Shortly after a rocket fired from the Gaza Strip stuck southern Israel early Thursday morning, the Israel Air Force responded by attacking a weapons manufacturing target in Gaza.
The site belonged to Hamas and was located in the central part of the coastal territory, according to the IDF. No injuries or damage were caused by the rocket fire. (Read more)
5. Jordan ups Wakf employment in apparent attempt to boost presence on Temple Mount - Jerusalem Post
Jordan has appointed 52 new employees and guards at its Jerusalem-based Wakf Department, Minister of State for Media Affairs Muhammad Momani announced.
Another 70 employees and guards will be appointed soon to the Wakf Department, which is in charge of Islamic holy sites in Jerusalem, he said on Wednesday.
The decision is seen in the context of Jordan's efforts to boost its presence on the Temple Mount. (Read more)
6. Iran: No Place for 'Zionist Regime' in Talks with Britain - Israel National News
Iran on Wednesday dismissed British Foreign Secretary Phillip Hammond's recent remarks that Tehran has changed its policies on Israel, stressing that the "Zionist regime" had no place in diplomatic talks between Tehran and London.
"We have rejected such media hype (before) and during Mr. Hammond's trip to Iran, we just discussed potentials of bilateral relations, fighting extremism and terrorism, etc.," said Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Marziyeh Afkham, according to the Fars news agency.
"There were no talks on the Zionist regime and the report that Iran has changed its position is denied," she stressed. (Read more)

Donald Trump and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) are jointly hosting a rally on Capitol Hill on Sept. 9 to protest the nuclear deal with Iran.
The event, being organized by Tea Party Patriots, the Center for Security Policy and the Zionist Organization of America, will be staged on the West Lawn of the Capitol, the groups said in a statement.
Cruz, the keynote speaker, invited Trump to speak, the statement said.

4. Court Overturns Ruling Against NSA - The Hill
A federal appeals court on Friday overturned a lower court ruling against the National Security Agency's controversial collection methods.
The ruling from the three-judge panel of the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals reverses the lower court's decision, which in December declared that the NSA's bulk phone data collection was likely unconstitutional. Earlier this summer, Congress voted to effectively end that program and replace it with a system in which the government obtains a court order and searches private companies' records for a narrower set of information.An opposing federal appeals court also declared the NSA program illegal this year, setting up a split with the D.C. Circuit. (Read more)

5. Focus Shifts to Shared Goals with Obama as Papal Visit Nears - (AP)
WASHINGTON (AP) - Sweeping into office in 2009, President Barack Obama captured near rock-star status around the world among millions who saw him as the embodiment of a new sense of social purpose. Now, that baton has largely been passed to Pope Francis, whose visit to the White House next month will put his common cause with Obama on vivid display.
Obama has made no secret of his affection for the outspoken pope, calling him a "transformative leader" whose influence has transcended the Roman Catholic community. The pope has embraced many of the issues Obama has sought to advance, including global warming, poverty and diplomacy with Iran and Cuba. Vice President Joe Biden, a Catholic, said the pope's Sept. 23 visit will mark an important moment not only for Catholics but for all Americans.
"Pope Francis has breathed new life into what I believe is the central mission of our faith: Catholic social doctrine," Biden said in a statement to The Associated Press. Invoking key elements of Obama's agenda, Biden added that Francis "has become a moral rudder for the world on some of the most important issues of our time, from inequality to climate change."
The pope's brief visit to the White House is part of his highly anticipated trip to the U.S. and Cuba. It's a reunion of sorts for Obama and Francis, who first met when the president visited the Vatican last year. (Read more)

6. Tropical Storm Erika Batters Caribbean; Florida, Bahamas on Alert - Accuweather.com
Erika remains a tropical storm spinning about 155 miles east-southeast of Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic, as of 5 a.m. EDT Friday.All interests from the Bahamas to Florida and the southeastern United States in general will need to monitor the track and strength of Erika into next week.
At minimum, surf and seas will increase from southeast to northwest across the Bahamas, the north side of Cuba and the southern and eastern coast of Florida this weekend."There will be a Perigean spring tide related to a supermoon this weekend, so where there are onshore winds associated with Erika tides will be significantly higher than normal," AccuWeather Hurricane Expert Dan Kottlowski said.
These effects will be greatest along the Atlantic coast of Florida, including the back bays. East to northeast winds may cause some water to pile up. (Read more)

Are you demonized by society?
It's not right that someone gets assassinated just because of their skin color. It's further not right that a guy supposedly elected by all to represent them in the highest office of the land, finds that some people getting killed for their skin color are less than others. It's not right that our borders are not secure and that our leadership is allowing a re-colonization of America with illegal aliens, who are responsible for over 30% of arrests for violent crimes (this according to the US government). It's not right that Planned Parenthood is even allowed to exist, let alone receive funds from our hard earned labors. It's not right that an oligarchy redefined marriage. Islam is not a religion of peace. But who cares?
I will tell you who cares. There are two types. The ones who have some semblance of Biblical mores and understand righteousness and want to live by it. And those who hate righteousness and believe anyone else is a hater. So if you hold those aforementioned views, you are labeled a hater, a racist, uneducated, homophobe, Islamaphobe, or whatever other kind of "phobe" label they can conjure up. Its all over the place. Television, radio, magazines, the internet--society has become so hyped up on the things that are against the precepts of God, that no one can escape them. Those of you who would choose to live apart from these things, or not "of" these things, you are likely demonized by society.
If so, you are a prophetic person. Jesus said in John 15:18-20, "If the world hates you, you know that it hated me before it hated you.If you were of the world, the world would love its own: but because you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also. But all these things will they do unto you for my name's sake, because they know not him that sent me." Surely we see this in society. Even from people who say they are Christians, but believe the humanist way. What of them?
So take heart. If you are demonized by society for disagreeing with unrighteousness, then so be it. As Christ says in Matthew 5:10-13, "Blessed are they who are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceedingly glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets who were before you. You are the salt of the earth: but if the salt has lost its savor, how shall it be salted? it is thereafter good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men." A little different message than the self-improvement stuff many churches are teaching as gospel. Hey, rejoice. You are doing God's work. Don't lose your salt.

Bad Intel?
Yesterday's New York Times reports that the Pentagon's inspector general has launched an investigation into the possible manipulation of intelligence data from Iraq.
No, this has nothing to do with Saddam Hussein's weapons of mass destruction and George Bush's decision to go to war. This investigation is attempting to determine whether "skewed intelligence assessments" are providing "a more optimistic account of progress" against ISIS.
That is a shocking revelation.
Most Americans know the campaign against ISIS has been ineffective, largely because President Obama has overly constrained the military. A recent CNN poll found that only 28% of Americans thought the war against ISIS was going "very well or somewhat well" and 62% disapproved of Obama's handling of ISIS.
The Times report suggests that the situation could be even worse than we realize.
But consider this: Right now Congress is evaluating an ill-conceived deal that makes the Islamic Republic of Iran a threshold nuclear state and removes virtually all of our economic leverage against that rogue regime.
Members of Congress are being pressured to support this deal because, in spite of Iran's well-documented history of cheating, President Obama confidently asserts, "If Iran cheats, we can catch them and we will."
We did not discover North Korea's nuclear cheating. Sadly, today's New York Times report is a good indication of just how unreliable the intelligence on Iran is likely to be. (Gary Bauer; Thursday, Aug. 27, 2015))

Military Brass Oppose Deal
Two weeks ago, Big Media and the left made a big deal over the fact that three dozen retired admirals and generals signed a joint letter supporting the president's nuclear deal with Iran. Yesterday, more than five times that number sent a letter to Congress urging opposition to the deal.
One hundred and ninety retired admirals and generals told congressional leaders that removing sanctions on Iran threatened Middle East peace. They warned that far from cutting off all pathways to a bomb, the deal "allows all the infrastructure the Iranians need for a nuclear bomb." They wrote that the agreement, with its secret side deals, was "unverifiable."
They are right on all counts.
In addition, Dennis Ross and Gen. David Petraeus, both of whom served in the Obama Administration, wrote a joint op-ed in the Washington Post this week. According to Ross and Petraeus, the deal allows Iran to expand its nuclear program, adding that it treats Iran "like Japan or the Netherlands -- but Iran is not Japan or the Netherlands when it comes to its behavior."
They state that "deterrence is the key" to making sure the Iranians do not attempt to develop nuclear weapons. Unfortunately, deterrence doesn't seem to be in the president's vocabulary. Every time he insists that our only options are this terrible deal or war, he makes it clear that the military option is off the table.
But Ross and Petraeus have a solution:
"While some may question whether we would act militarily if the Iranians were to dash to a bomb, no one questions whether the Israelis would do so. . . . Providing the Israelis the MOP [bunker busting 30,000-pound massive ordnance penetrator bombs] and the means to carry it would surely enhance deterrence." (Gary Bauer)

All Lives Matter
No doubt you have heard about the terrible shooting of two journalists and a woman they were interviewing in southwest Virginia. The murderer, Vester Lee Flanagan II, cited the Charleston shootings by Dylann Roof as his motivation. But he is just like Roof in many ways.
Both Flanagan and Roof are haters. Both wanted a race war. Both murdered innocent people. Both were evil. Roof sat with church members and studied the Bible with them before he murdered them. Flanagan stalked his victims and, just like ISIS, he videotaped his assault to make sure it was seen far and wide.
The murders in Charleston were quickly used by the left to excoriate the South, conservatives and people who support the Second Amendment. That is where the similarities end. Flanagan was black, a homosexual, an over-the-top Obama supporter, who was reprimanded for wearing Obama buttons during his reporting on Election Day.
The president's statement yesterday said nothing about racial hatred on the left. There was nothing about the left examining its rhetoric to see if it contributed to this tragedy in any way. Just more restrictions on guns.
A few weeks ago we reported on Louis Farrakhan's speech in Florida calling for ten thousand volunteers to rise up and murder white people. Perhaps Mr. Flanagan was answering Farrakhan's call to jihad against white people.
This sad event is a reminder that all lives matter -- black lives, white lives and, yes, if we are ever to restore respect for the sanctity of all life, even the lives of unborn children. (Gary Bauer)

Planned Parenthood Clinic Cuts Through Dead Baby's Face to Get his Intact Brain

n the latest video produced by the Center for Medical Progress, Holly O'Donnell describes a medical technician using scissors to cut through the face of a newly aborted but nearly fully developed baby boy at a Planned Parenthood facility so that his intact brain could be extracted.
O'Donnell says that the technician could also make the boy's heart beat.
Planned Parenthood is working hard to counter the steady drip of damning videos produced by the Center for Medical Progress, but not even the highest priced Washington, D.C. flacks are likely to be able to erase the thought picture of someone cutting through a child's face with scissors.
Holly O'Donnell and her Planned Parenthood colleague were harvesting organs that day at Planned Parenthood Mar Monte, a mega-clinic in San Jose, California that has an annual budget of $100 million or 10 percent of the national organization. (Read more)
For prayer: The obscene disclosures keep coming, each representing a new low in moral degradation and unconscionable sacrilege of cruelty toward helpless and innocent victims. Our united prayer goal must be the complete eradication of these "high places" dedicated to the death, dismemberment, and marketing of not-yet-born babies. While Planned Parenthood battles back fiercely, pray that God will allow continued exposure to truth. Pray many will be convicted and saved before judgment falls.
"The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it? I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind, even to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings." (Jer 17:9-10)

As we have sought the Lord to respond to this call, we have felt led to offer a brief presentation, led by one of our own Prayer Partners, who has gained insight in recent months that will give us specific tools for evangelism.
Our presenter is a homeschooling grandmother from Texas, Patti Kelleher, who has gained wisdom from our Lord in reaching the lost for Christ. She will share her insights with us in two, one-hour sessions next week. These sessions will be repeated (the same teaching both times) with the time and conference number given below. Time will be provided for questions and answers at the end of each teaching.

SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) - While drought-plagued California is eager for rain, the forecast of a potentially Godzilla-like El Nino event has communities clearing out debris basins, urging residents to stock up on emergency supplies and even talking about how a deluge could affect the 50th Super Bowl.
