"Praying for All in Authority"

> > > Today is the 42nd Annual March for Life < < <

"This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live." (Deuteronomy 30:19)

"And I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse . . ." (Rev. 19:11)
The Daily Brief

1. Obama's silence on radical Islam puts all of us in danger - Fox News

Last night during the State of the Union address, President Obama refused to acknowledge that Islamic extremism is even a thing. Instead, he said the greatest threat facing America is climate change. Fox News' Todd Starnes sounded off Wednesday in his "American Dispatch" saying, "Okay, Mr. President. Let's talk about climate change for a moment. What do you think is going to happen to the ozone when Al Qaeda explodes giant nuclear bombs in American cities? Good luck growing those radioactive butter beans. The fact is, President Obama is in denial - and he's putting the lives of our families in jeopardy."

- Father, we pray for Your abundant mercy and forgiveness over America at this time. Our President has completely ignored and actively assisted our enemies, and the principles of our founders that saved us in the past have grown static and dry.

- "He does not retain His anger forever, because He delights in mercy. He will again have compassion on us and will subdue or iniquities." (Micah 7:18c,19a)

2. Friendly fire: Dems challenge Obama agenda - Fox News

President Obama, for all the flak he took from Republicans over his combative State of the Union address, now is running into turbulence from members of his own party - who could prove an even bigger barrier to his agenda.

Democrats from across the political spectrum spent Wednesday taking aim at parts of the president's platform. Though in the minority, they hold sway because Democratic defectors - particularly in the Senate - could make the difference in helping Republicans pass key legislation, and even override a presidential veto.

Already, a top-ranking Senate Democrat has renewed pressure on Obama to slow his diplomatic outreach to Cuba and to Iran. House and Senate Democrats also convened a press conference on Wednesday to blast his push for new free-trade deals. Meanwhile, Democrats are likely to play a big role in advancing a bill in the Senate approving the Keystone XL pipeline.

- Lord, we thank You for a challenge to the ideas of this president. We pray that You would unravel this socialist agenda and restore our nation to its former strength and faith in You.

-"O Lord, revive your work in the midst of the years! In the midst of the years make it known; in wrath remember mercy." (Habakkuk 3:2)

3. House GOP drops controversial abortion bill ahead of Roe v. Wade anniversary - Fox News

House Republicans on Wednesday dropped a bill that would have banned abortions after 20 weeks, ending legislation that at one time seemed certain to pass but fell victim to inter-party disputes over concerns that the law would alienate women voters. The failure of the bill, which was intended to be Congress' first anti-abortion legislation of the new session, reflects divides in the GOP just weeks after it assumed control of both houses for the first time in eight years.

Instead, the House will vote Thursday -- the 42nd anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision -- on a bill that would ban the use of tax dollars for abortions, the same law that was passed by the House nearly one year ago but died in the Senate, which was then controlled by Democrats.

The substitute bill would make permanent the so-called Hyde amendment, which bans all federal money for abortion services. Currently, Congress simply renews the amendment each year, which it has done since the mid-1970s. Voting on the bill Thursday would provide Republicans with a symbolic act on the same day that the anti-abortion March for Life is scheduled to begin in Washington.

- Lord, this is so deeply sad for our nation. As the shedding of innocent blood continues unchecked, we repent again for the actions of the few that are destroying the hope of a nation. Revive us, O Lord, and reverse the curse upon us!

-"Behold I set before you today a blessing and a curse, the blessings, if you obey the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you today; and the curse, if you do not obey the commandments of the Lord your God" (Deuteronomy 11:26-27)

4. Perkins: GOP Leadership 'Did Not Abandon Pro-Life Effort' - CNSNews.com

Family Research Council President Tony Perkins on Thursday said despite the House delaying debate on the late-term abortion bill Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, GOP House leadership has not abandoned the "pro-life effort."

Perkins praised the Republican leadership for shifting its focus to H.R. 7, the No Taxpayer Funding of Abortion Act, which bans taxpayer-funded abortion and provides conscience protection.

Perkins comments come one day after the House GOP dropped a planned debate, thus delaying a vote on the late-term abortion bill that bans abortion after 20 weeks of pregnancy after several GOP women and other congressmen voiced opposition.(Read more)

- Father, we breathe a sigh of relief to know that the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act has not been dropped entirely, but only delayed. We lift up those that Tony names in this article in prayer, that their hearts would be turned towards You and for the sake of the unborn. Abba, we ask You to change their minds, and many others, so that when this bill finally does come to a vote, it will pass. We ask this prayer in Jesus' name, amen and amen.

- "The king's heart is like channels of water in the hand of the Lord; He turns it wherever He wishes." (Proverbs 21:1)

5. Justice Dept. to Recommend No Civil Rights Charges in Ferguson Shooting - New York Times

The Justice Department has begun work on a legal memo recommending no civil rights charges against a white police officer in Ferguson, Mo., who killed an unarmed black teenager in August, law enforcement officials said. That would close the politically charged case in the shooting death of 18-year-old Michael Brown. The investigation by the F.B.I., which is complete, found no evidence to support civil rights charges against the officer, Darren Wilson, the officials said.

A broader civil rights investigation into allegations of discriminatory traffic stops and excessive force by the Ferguson Police Department remains open, however. That investigation could lead to significant changes at the department, which is overwhelmingly white despite serving a city that is mostly black.

- Father, we thank you that justice has prevailed in this case. Mr. Wilson's future as a law enforcement officer has been completely decimated. We ask for Your protection against any further protests in the St Louis/Ferguson area.

6. Netanyahu to couple congressional address with appearance at AIPAC parley in March - Jerusalem Post

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday formally accepted an invitation to address a special joint session of Congress, but will do so as a part of a trip to Washington in early March to attend the AIPAC conference, and not as part of a special trip to DC just for that occasion in mid-February.

The invitation to Netanyahu issued by House Speaker John Boehner in the name of the bipartisan leadership of the House of Representatives and Senate caused a kerfuffle, with some Netanyahu critics saying the Republicans were meddling in Israel's elections, and others that Boehner was using Netanyahu to wage a battle with US President Barack Obama over Iran sanctions.

The White House said it was surprised that it was not informed in advance - either by Boehner or Israeli officials - of the visit, and that this was a breach of protocol.

In an apparent effort to rectify the situation, on Wednesday evening, after Boehner confirmed the speech to Congress could be moved from February 11 to March 3, Israel contacted the White House to inform it of the change of plans. (Read more)

- Father God, life is moving so fast nowadays in Washington, it is easy to understand why this mistake was made in the congressional calendar. Thank You, Lord, that this visit has been come into alignment with the AIPAC, so we can all plan accordingly. We continue to ask that P.M. Netanyahu be granted a warm welcome by this Congress, even as he has been rebuffed by the White House. [see below.]. Thank You, Lord, in Jesus' name, amen and amen.

- "The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way." (Psalm 37:23)

7. Obama, Kerry won't meet Netanyahu during March DC visit, due to Israel election - Jerusalem Post

Obama will not receive Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in March at the White House, his administration said on Thursday, due to the proximity of his visit to Israel's elections.

"As a matter of long-standing practice and principle, we do not see heads of state or candidates in close proximity to their elections, so as to avoid the appearance of influencing a democratic election in a foreign country," Bernadette Meehan, spokesperson for the National Security Council, said in an e-mail.

Netanyahu will address a joint session of Congress during his visit, at the invitation of House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio), on Israel's position on negotiations with Iran over its nuclear program. (Read more)

- Father God, we wonder if the president is simply using Israel's upcoming election as an excuse to not meet with P.M. Netanyahu . . . the leader of one nation that has refused to bow the knee to Obama's demands? Lord, perhaps it is best that their paths not cross this time, but to allow Israel's prime minister to relax and enjoy his visit to America. We ask a blessing upon P.M. Netanyahu, and forgiveness for Mr. Obama, in Jesus' name, amen and amen.

- "Can two walk together, except they be agreed? " (Amos 3:3)

8. Congress Protests Russia's Sale of Missile System to Iran - Washington Free Beacon

Members of Congress petitioned Secretary of State John Kerry on Wednesday to oppose the recently announced sale by Russia of an advanced missile defense system to Iran, citing concerns that such a move would embolden Tehran's "pursuit of nuclear weapons," according to a copy of the letter exclusively obtained by the Washington Free Beacon.

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu was in Tehran this week for high-level talks with Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei about a new arms pact that would provide Iran with the Russian-made S-300 missile defense system and potentially new cruise missiles, submarines, and torpedoes, according to sources familiar with the talks.

Tehran and Moscow announced on Wednesday that they had inked an agreement to finalize delivery of the S-300 system, according to Iranian state-controlled media reports.

9. Islamic State Continues Expansion Into New Areas, Eyes Mecca & Medina - Breitbart

The continuing flare-ups on Saudi Arabia's northern border with Iraq have led some to believe that the Islamic State is set on an eventual push towards the Islamic holy cities of Mecca and Medina. Islamic State 'Caliph,' Abu Bakr Al Baghdadi, has frequently called for attacks inside Saudi territory, with hopes of the eventual capture of Mecca and Medina.

'It is likely [Baghdadi] realizes that no one can claim to be the Islamic State without controlling the holy sites in and around Mecca and Medina and the wealth that comes with them,' writes Newsweek's William Young. Not only has the Islamic State frequently prodded the Saudi border, the terror group also sees Lebanon as a target of prime importance. . .

'The moderate [Syrian] rebel groups on the border have collapsed, and their men have joined ISIS,' Ahmed Flity, the deputy mayor of a Lebanese border town told The Telegraph. In recent days, The Islamic State has reportedly for the first time had cells surface within Afghanistan and Israel. (Read more)

- Lord God, as Islam continues to expand across the Arabian Peninsula, we thank You that You are in control, and that You have a plan to bring these lost souls to You, through the Shed Blood of our Messiah. Help us, Lord, to pray without ceasing for these souls, for it is only through their salvation that peace will surely come to the Middle East. We ask this in Jesus' name, amen and amen.

- "Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this." (Isaiah 9:7)

10. EU to appeal ruling that Hamas should be removed from terror list - Jerusalem Post

The European Union will appeal against a court ruling that the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas should be removed from the bloc's terrorist list, an EU official said on Monday. "The fight against terrorism remains a priority for the European Union. In this sense, the EU is determined to stem the financing of terrorism, for which EU autonomous measures are an essential tool." (Read more)

- Lord God, we pray that this appeal will be successful, so that Hamas will continue to be named as the terrorist organization that it is. In Jesus' name, amen and amen.

1. MK Mualem: Tel Aviv Attack a 'Wake-Up Call' for Peace Camp - Israel National News

MK Shuli Mualem (Jewish Home) said on Wednesday evening that the terrorist attack in Tel Aviv was a wake-up call to people who still think peace with the Palestinian Authority (PA) is possible.

"The attack today is another wake-up call for the peace camp to arise from its disillusionment," said Mualem, who spoke at a conference at the Dead Sea.

She criticized PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas and the unilateral steps he has taken against Israel, saying, "Just as the Palestinians are running to The Hague, the Israeli government should approve as soon as the Levy Report" which conclusively proved that Israel's presence in Judea and Samaria is legal under international law.

"This should be the answer to terrorism," said Mualem. (Read more)

2. Mossad said to warn US on Iran sanctions in break with PM- Times of Israel

The Mossad intelligence agency has warned US officials against a bill that would hit Iran with sanctions if the nuclear talks fail to secure an agreement by the June deadline, diverging sharply from the Israeli government's formal position, Bloomberg reported overnight Wednesday-Thursday.

The report maintained that Israeli intelligence officials have advised US officials that a bill sponsored by senators Robert Menendez and Mark Kirk would drive the nuclear negotiations with the Islamic Republic to collapse. (Read more)

3. Kerry: Netanyahu welcome to speak in US 'any time' -Times of Israel

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is welcome to give a speech at "any time" in the United States, top US diplomat John Kerry said Wednesday, after news of the prime minister's upcoming address on Iran drew a chilly response from the White House.

But Kerry agreed it had been a "little unusual" to hear about the Israeli leader's speech to US Congress next month from the office of Speaker John Boehner and not via the usual diplomatic protocols.

Earlier, the White House reacted icily to Netanyahu's plans to address Congress, an appearance sure to intensify opposition to a nuclear deal with Iran. (Read more)

4. White House: Invite to Netanyahu a breach of protocol -Times of Israel

House Speaker John Boehner's invitation to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to address the US Congress in Washington next month is a breach of normal diplomatic protocol, the White House said in a statement Wednesday.

President Barack Obama's press secretary, Josh Earnest, said the White House had not officially heard from Israel whether Netanyahu does indeed plan to speak to Congress on February 11. Speaking to reporters traveling aboard Air Force One to Idaho, Earnest stated that the White House was reserving judgment about the invitation, adding that he had not heard about Boehner's invitation until Wednesday morning, shortly before the speaker announced it publicly. 5. 10 Israeli tourists hurt in anti-Semitic attack in Argentina - Jerusalem Post

Ten Israeli tourists were wounded in an anti-Semitic attack at a hostel in a small Argentine village.

Three assailants burned, robbed and beat the tourists at the Onda Azul hostel in Lago Puelo, in southern Argentina, between 1 a.m. and 4 a.m. Monday, the Argentine media reported. Police in the Chubut province are investigating. (Read more)

6. Following Tel Aviv attack, Herzog calls for war on terror - Jerusalem Post

Terrorism must be fought with determination, Labor leader Isaac Herzog said on Wednesday, after a Palestinian man stabbed passengers on a Tel Aviv bus.

"Israeli citizens do not feel secure today, not by the Gaza border and not in Tel Aviv," Herzog wrote on Facebook.

"That reality must change."

A gap between declarations and slogans about security on the one hand, and Israelis' precarious sense of security on the other, is intolerable, the Labor Party chairman said.

"We will change this with determined and assertive action toward terrorist organizations and their heads," he wrote. (Read more)

7. PLO to Discuss New UN Statehood Bid - Israel National News

The Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) Executive Committee will meet in Ramallah on Wednesday to discuss a new Palestinian statehood bid at the United Nations (UN).

Sources close to the meeting, speaking on the condition of anonymity, told the Ma'an news agency that the new UN resolution would call for the end of the "Israeli occupation" within two years, allowing for a year of negotiations.

The negotiations would be sponsored by the five permanent members of the UN Security Council, the sources said.

The new bid will also call for a Palestinian state on the pre-1967 borders with eastern Jerusalem as its capital and the implementation of UN resolution 194 on the "right of return" for refugees. (Read more)

8. US bans employees from most of Golan Heights -Times of Israel

United States government workers in Israel must obtain approval if they want to travel within a mile-and-a-half of the Lebanon border.

The State Department sent a security message on Wednesday to US citizens registered with the nation's diplomatic missions in Israel.

It also included a ban on visiting most of the Golan Heights without permission.

The directive came as Israel remained on high alert on its northern frontier following an airstrike earlier this week, allegedly by Israel, which killed six Hezbollah members and six Iranian nationals, including a general, on the Syrian Golan Heights. Both Iran and Hezbollah have vowed retaliation against Israel for the strike. (Read more)

Islamic killing in France a repeat of history

In February 2006, Muslims around the world were rioting. In Indonesia, over 300 protestors stormed the European Union embassy. In Gaza, Palestinian gunman scaled the walls of the EU offices, closing them until further notice. Some 400 Islamic students burned the French and Danish flags in Pakistan. Angry Muslims threatened to kidnap French, Spanish, Danish and Austrian citizens. Islam is boycotted businesses associated with the European Union. And several EU countries recalled their diplomatic corps to avoid threatened violence in Islamic nations. What ever could have sparked such a chain of events? A cartoon of founder of the Islamic cult, Mohammed, originally printed in a Danish newspaper. Sound familiar?

The militant reaction to a Danish newspaper printing several cartoons of the prophet Mohammed was only inflamed as newspapers in France, Italy, the Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Austria and others followed suit and reprinted many of the cartoons. One of the cartoons showed Mohammed with a bomb strapped beneath his turban. Back then it seemed as though the European newspapers were fed up with Islamic militancy and were making the point that they can print what they want in the name of freedom of speech. But the enraged Muslims saw blood because it is considered blasphemous to make images of the prophet Mohammed-as if they needed an excuse to rape, pillage and kill. Sound familiar?

That the militant cult becomes outraged when the European free press makes a point through satire is no novelty. The killings in France by Islamists are part of a continuum of violence. The 2005 Islamic riots across Europe, after two boys, who thought they were being chased by police, were electrocuted when they hid in a high voltage box, were just the beginning of many a problem Europe faced with its fast growing Islamic population. Mark Steyn, a syndicated columnist for the Wall Street Journal wrote in 2006 that Islamic countries are having babies at a rate four to five times that of Europe, which is in a population decline. And Islam is moving into Europe as the fastest growing immigrant population.

Steyn predicted that within the decade the European population will be more Islamic than European and that riots in the streets will be commonplace. By 2006, Europe had taken in 20 million Muslims and in Britain more Muslims attend religious services each week than do Christians. In Jeremiah, the Lord speaks of the Babylonian judgment where an immoral society is desolated. Europe and the United States have a lot of Babylonian characteristics. The Lord says in Jeremiah 51:14, "Surely I will fill you with men, as with locusts, and they shall lift up a shout against you." Locust often meant Ishmaelite, the forefathers of the Islamists, because they consumed the land like locusts and moved on. Time to turn to Christ and his salvation.

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

Ex-Muslim's Open Letter to America

Ex-Muslim's Open Letter to America:

'What Else Has to Happen so You Wake Up?!'

Meet Mark Christian, a brave man who has dedicated his life to exposing what Islam truly is all about.

After leaving Islam a decade ago to convert to Christianity, Mark pulls no punches when speaking out about his former religion, frequently calling out the Muslims who choose to murder in the name of their god.

The following is an open letter from Mark, not just to Americans, but to those professing to be "peaceful" Muslims. In the light of the recent terror attacks in Paris, this message needs to be heeded and applied before it is too late! (Barbwire.com) Read more here.

Mark is the founder of Global Faith Institute, whose mission is "To inspire the lost with the hope of Christ; to equip America with knowledge of the truth, greater than the evils of the age; to embrace the role of "Watchmen," that we might sound an alarm for all who will listen."

- Father, we thank You that another convert from Islam in our nation is now speaking out strongly, warning the American people to wake up before it is too late, and Moslem terrorists arrive on our doorsteps. We ask for Your hand of protection to rest upon Mark Christian, Kamal Saleem, Walid Shoebat, and all others who are speaking out these warnings. We ask this prayer in Jesus' name, amen and amen.

- "Meanwhile, the Lord said to me, "Put a watchman on the city wall. Let him shout out what he sees." (Isaiah 21:6)

State of the Union Fails the Family

State of the Union Fails the Family

FRC President Tony Perkins released the following statement in response to President Obama's State of the Union Address:

"President Obama used terms tonight that Americans can identify with - family, values, faith and prosperity-- but the policies he advocates undermine those very things

While pointing to a decline in the number of abortions, he failed to mention that the taxpayer funding of abortion within Obamacare, which violates the conscience of millions of Americans, threatens to reverse this decline.

His policies continue to penalize marriage and families, which are vital to economic fairness and success. It is unfair to penalize marriage in the tax code, and it doesn't make economic sense."

"The President talked about symptoms but didn't address the root problems facing our country. On every measure from criminal activity, to educational achievement, to fidelity and happiness in marriage, to personal productivity and longevity -- religious practice and intact family structure predict and produce the best results. Our Greatest Threat?

Our Greatest Threat?

One example of Obama's disconnect from reality (during the State of the Union address) was this claim: "And no challenge -- no challenge -- poses a greater threat to future generations than climate change." Excuse me?

There is a vicious, evil enemy marauding across the Middle East and much of Africa. Iran is aggressively pursuing nuclear weapons. Obama has doubled the national debt and is still running deficits of half a trillion dollars a year. And he thinks climate change is our greatest threat.

The American people don't see it that way. According to a recent Pew survey, Americans ranked terrorism as the most pressing concern, even ahead of the economy and jobs. Global warming finished 22nd out of 23 issues polled. (Gary Bauer)

Pope Francis May Address Congress Next Sept.

Pope Francis address to joint session of Congress
would be historic first

In a whirlwind trip planned for September, Pope Francis is likely to meet world leaders in New York as well as President Obama and congressional leaders in Washington.

Other popes have addressed the United Nations, but an address to a joint session of Congress would be a historic first.

The pope, an Argentine who has never visited the U.S., said he planned to visit Washington and New York City as part of his trip to the World Meeting of Families, which is scheduled for September in Philadelphia.

Specifically, Francis said he would like to perform the canonization ceremony for Blessed Junipero Serra at the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in the District.

According to Catholic News Service, Francis called Washington a fitting location for the ceremony for Blessed Junipero, an 18th-century Franciscan cleric who founded the mission work in California, because a statue of him stands in the U.S. Capitol.

The Catholic News Service and Catholic News Agency noted that the Vatican has yet to formally approve the U.S. plans.

The tentative schedule, which has been submitted to the Vatican by U.S. church officials and U.N. representatives, would have the pope arriving in Washington late Sept. 22.

On Sept. 23, Francis would visit the White House for an official welcoming ceremony, then celebrate Mass at the Basilica of the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.

On Sept. 24, the pontiff would take the unprecedented step of addressing a joint session of Congress. When Francis said he would be at the long-scheduled Philadelphia gathering, House Speaker John A. Boehner issued him an invitation to speak to Congress.

He would deliver remarks to the U.N. General Assembly on Sept. 25. (Washington Times) Read more.

The Clergy and Politics

First-ever move to elect 1,000 evangelical pastors

Evangelical political leaders, eager to enlist an army of religious voters, are building a campaign to get 1,000 church pastors to run for office, believing that their campaigns would awaken 50 million Christian voters who never make it to the polls.

Led by influential evangelical activist David Lane and his well-fundedAmerican Renewal Project, and newly endorsed by Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, the campaign is aimed at influencing representation locally, in Congress, and putting a Republican sympathetic to Christian views in the White House.

Lane is well known for his "Pastors & Pews" sessions around the country where he brings pastors together to meet with top Christian Republicans such as Mike Huckabee, Jindal, and Sens. Ted Cruz and Rand Paul. He has been hosting the events for 10 years, meeting with 15,000 pastors in 18 states.

Now he is enlisting some of those pastors to run for office. "I'm getting an army marching," he said.

Lane said he wants pastors to run for "city council, county commissioner, school board, mayor or Congress in 2016. If the Lord called 1,000 pastors to run in 2016, and they averaged 300 volunteers per campaign - 300K grassroots, precinct-level Evangelicals - coming from the bottom-up in '16 - would change America for good."

Jindal endorsed his effort in a letter to 100,000 pastors. In promoting an American Renewal Project session in Baton Rouge, La., on Jan. 23, Jindal wrote, "We are going to discuss the importance of raising up the next generation of leaders in America who understand these challenging times and know what to do about them. There is a great need for the kind of leaders we read about in the Old Testament, 'The Men of Issachar' (1 Chronicles 12:32). We need such men and women of wisdom today who will accept the challenge to restore our Judeo-Christian heritage in America." (Read more)
- Father God, we thank You for news of this growing movement among pastors in our nation, to consider serving God by serving the people in elected offices. We ask that Your Hand of blessing would rest upon each one that is joining this movement, and we ask for a massive return to RIGHTEOUSNESS exalting our nation. In Jesus' name, amen and amen.

- "Righteousness exalts a nation, But sin is a reproach to any people." (Proverbs 14:34)

113th Congressional Prayer Caucus Review

113th Congressional Prayer Caucus Review

Dear Sara,

As you may already be aware, the Congressional Prayer Caucus Foundation was established to work alongside the members of the Congressional Prayer Caucus-formed in 2005 by Founder and current co-Chair, Randy Forbes (R-VA)-in order to build a united network of government leaders through the formation of State Legislative Prayer Caucuses. This network of government leaders is grounded in prayer and committed to securing God's enduring place in America. Together, we are working with the same passion and the same focus to protect our religious liberties and restore America to her Judeo-Christian foundations.

However, in the busyness of attending to our collective mission, we often forget to pause along the way to celebrate the victories and appreciate all that is being done on behalf of concerned citizens. As such, I wanted to share some of the good work that was accomplished by the members of the Congressional Prayer Caucus during the last session.

Highlights from the 113th Congress are organized into five core areas the Congressional Prayer Caucus has identified as priorities . . .

Crisis in Yemen

Coup in Yemen Threatens Country's Stability

It started Monday when street battles raged between Shiite Houthi rebels and government forces in Yemen's capital, Sana'a. Ordinary citizens feared for their lives and their country. Talks between President Hadi and representatives of the Houthi rebels had broken down. Hothis rejected a draft constitution that divides Yemen into six regions. Businesses and embassies closed as the clashes continued all day ending with a tentative ceasefire Monday night. Tuesday brought an escalation of violence as Houthi rebels shelled the presidential palace and seized the state-run media. The commander of the Presidential Protection Force guarding the palace said, "This is a coup. There is no other word to describe what is happening but a coup."

The powerful Houthi rebel movement dominates northern Yemen and seeks to strengthen the rights of the Zaidi sect that represents 20-30 percent of the population. The third player in this complicated political and tribal conflict is Al Qaeda. Both President's Hadi's government and the Houthi rebels are opposed to this terrorist organization. Many fear that the clashes between government forces and Houthi rebels may actually strengthen Al Qaeda's position. The wave of violence engulfing this poorest country in the Arab world could possibly reshape its political landscape.

PRAYER REQUESTS:

Let's pray for . . .

- Christian Believers in Yemen to clothe themselves with the full armor of God, and having done all to stand (Ephesians 6:10-27).

- Christian Believers to be bold as they continue to witness to others about the love, peace, protection, and eternal life found in Jesus Christ (Acts 4:29).

- Al Qaeda terrorists to fall into the pit they have dug intending to snare the innocents and create havoc (Psalm 57:6).

- President Hadi and his government to negotiate an agreeable compromise with the Houthis that will benefit all of Yemen's tribal interests ( I Corinthians 1:10).

ANOTHER POSSIBLE ISRAEL "SENSATIONAL" FIND AS ARCHAEOLOGISTS DISCOVER WHAT COULD BE THE ROYAL ESCAPE TUNNEL USED BY KING ZEDEKIAH

The entrance to a tunnel was found extending from an ancient palace structure located in the Biblical town of Bethsaida, not far from the Sea of Galilee-a place close to the heart of Jesus and some of His apostles.

(Israel)-Archaeologists from the University of Nebraska in Omaha working at the site of the Biblical city of Bethsaida, visited by Jesus during His lifetime and the home of several of His disciples, have encountered what they think may be an entrance to the "escape tunnel that was used by the city's royal elite during the times of ancient Israel and Judah."

If the entrance to the tunnel does indeed lead to a tunnel, it would reportedly validate the Biblical account of an escape route used by King Zedekiah when Bethsaida was being attacked by Nebuchadnezzar's Babylonian troops.

In addition to other "sensational finds" in that location, archaeologists have also uncovered "one of the largest and most complete city gate complexes in the Levant (countries comprising the Eastern Mediterranean)."

Signs and Wonders

Mysterious 'Planet X' may really lurk undiscovered
in our solar system

"Planet X" might actually exist - and so might "Planet Y."

At least two planets larger than Earth likely lurk in the dark depths of space far beyond Pluto, just waiting to be discovered, a new analysis of the orbits of "extreme trans-Neptunian objects" (ETNOs) suggests.

Researchers studied 13 ETNOs - frigid bodies such as the dwarf planet Sedna that cruise around the sun at great distances in elliptical paths.

"This excess of objects with unexpected orbital parameters makes us believe that some invisible forces are altering the distribution of the orbital elements of the ETNOs, and we consider that the most probable explanation is that other unknown planets exist beyond Neptune and Pluto," lead author Carlos de la Fuente Marcos, of the Complutense University of Madrid, said in a statement.

"The exact number is uncertain, given that the data that we have is limited, but our calculations suggest that there are at least two planets, and probably more, within the confines of our solar system," he added. (Fox News) Read more here.
