SPECIAL EDITION: THE 70TH ANNIVERSARY
OF THE BOMBING OF PEARL HARBOR

"It is time for You to act, O LORD, For they have regarded Your law as void." (Psalm 119:126)

The Daily Brief

1. Court: NYC Can Ban Churches From School Buildings - Fox News

The Supreme Court has rejected an evangelical church's plea to overturn New York City's ban on renting public schools for religious worship services. That means the city now has a green light to begin evicting congregations who pay rent to use public school buildings for church services. Jane Gordon, senior counsel for the New York City Law Dept, "We view this as a victory for the City's school children and their families." Churches will have to vacate public schools on Feb. 12, 2012.

- Lord, reading this article makes one's blood boil! We ask Your special grace and provision for the churches of NYC! May the greater message of this news be very clear to the Body of Christ so we will not be naive in thinking the persecution of our faith is coming, for it is already here! May we pray increasingly, prepare our hearts, and store up Your Word within as never before! May all that happens to us serve to increase Your kingdom through the last days harvest. May Your children be ready, both to live or to die for You.

- " Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My Name's sake." (Matthew 24:9)

2. White House pushes to weaken Iran sanctions - Ynet News

The Obama administration is pressuring Congress to ease the potential impact of crippling sanctions on Iran's Central Bank, arguing that the restrictions will drive up oil prices and wind up being a boon for Tehran and its pursuit of a nuclear weapon. But the chief sponsors of the sanctions, which the Senate resoundingly backed last week on a 100-0 vote, are resisting the request.

-Lord, thank You that tougher sanctions against Iran have widespread support in Congress, as lawmakers show concerns not only for our own national security but also for Israel. As they strive to complete work on this massive $662 billion defense bill by the end of the week, we pray that You direct their course! Intervene as this administration seeks to extend a softer hand to our enemies. We pray our lawmakers will not give in to any injurious compromise, including the provision in this bill that will repeal the military's ban on sodomy and bestiality. Bring a speedy end to the brutal and terrorism-sponsoring Iranian regime.

- "A righteous man who falters before the wicked, is like a murky spring and a polluted well." (Proverbs 25:26)

3. Obama FDA Considers Putting Morning-After Pill on Supermarket Shelves
- Weekly Standard

The Washington Post reports that, under President Obama and his Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, the Food and Drug Administration is considering letting "anyone of any age buy the controversial morning-after pill Plan B directly off drugstore and supermarket shelves without a prescription." Plan B consists of a synthetic form of progesterone; found in many standard birth-control pills, however Plan B contains it at higher doses."'Hopefully, it will be right on the shelves between the condoms and the pregnancy tests,' said Kirsten Moore of the Reproductive Health Technologies Project, a Washington-based advocacy group.

-Dear Lord, we pray against the blood lust of this administration that seeks to kill babies through any and every imaginable route. May this pill - at the very least, remain behind the pharmacists counter and require a doctors prescription. O God have mercy on the depths of our sin, for Jesus' sake, and in His Name we pray.

- "Do not kill the innocent! " (Exodus 23:7)

4. North Korea making missile able to hit U.S. - Washington Times

New intelligence indicates that North Korea is moving ahead with building its first road-mobile intercontinental ballistic missile, an easily hidden weapon capable of hitting the United States, according to Obama administration officials. A letter to Defense Secretary Leon E. Panetta from five House Republicans reads, "We believe this new intelligence reiterates the need for the administration to correct its priorities regarding missile defense..."

- LORD, as North Korea is in the process of becoming a direct threat to the United States, we ask You to protect our nation. We pray we will be obedient to You in all things Lord, for You are faithful to those who are obedient to You.

- "But if you indeed obey His voice and do all that I (the LORD) speak, then I will be an enemy to your enemies and an adversary to your adversaries." (Exodus 23:22)

5. Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood claims wins in run-off votes - BBC

The Muslim Brotherhood has said its political party has won a majority of run-off contests in the first round of Egypt's parliamentary election. Official results are not expected until Thursday, but the Freedom and Justice Party said it had won 36 of the 56 seats awarded to individual candidates. The Islamist group won almost 37% of the vote in earlier polling, which awarded seats according to party lists.

- LORD...the "Freedom and Justice Party?" O God, wake up the world to the Muslim Brotherhood and Islamic organizations that are working to overthrow the planet and place all nations under Sharia law. Break the back of the principalities Islam which seek to enslave men and women and destroy everything good and godly in their path. Bring the fear of GOD the Almighty!, upon the Muslim Brotherhood, so they will cease murdering Coptic Christians. In Jesus' Name, bring forth salvation in the millions to the inner circles of the Muslim Brotherhood, and all of Islam. As You saved Nineveh, so save the nations of Islam.

- " Egypt and the parts of Lybia.....Cretans and Arabs - we hear them speaking in our own tongues wonderful works of God." (Acts 2:11) May we, in our generation, hear them too!

When Homosexual persecution trumps Christianity

Will the White House's new wide ranging foreign aid requirements that tie treatment of homosexuals to aid money help Christians? Probably not. In fact, it seems that the White House believes persecution of Christians is far less a problem than discrimination against homosexuals. So much so that the man who occupies the Oval Office has directed his foreign policy arms to use taxpayer money as a lever for better treatment of the lifestyle that God calls an "abomination." The bottom line is that the president has ordered his State Department and the Agency for International Development to use your tax money to assist homosexuals who are facing human rights violations in countries that receive US money.
He said, "The struggle to end discrimination against lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender persons is a global challenge, and one that is central to the United States' commitment to promoting human rights." Associated Press reports, "The White House said Tuesday's announcement marked the first US government strategy to combat human rights abuses against gays and lesbians abroad. The order also directs US government agencies to use foreign assistance to protect human rights and advance non-discrimination, and work with international organizations to fight discrimination against gays and lesbians." One has to wonder how this will work in the president's beloved Islamic states where homosexuals are put to death.

The hypocrisy here is amazing. This administration is in partnership with the Muslim Brotherhood. The Muslim Brotherhood has condoned the outright mass killing of Coptic Christians in Egypt. If it could find homosexuals in Egypt, it would allow the killing of them too because homosexuality is illegal under Sharia law. Saudi Arabia discriminates against Christians, as does every Islamic nation. There is no Christian church left in Afghanistan. Few Christian churches remain in Iraq. Iran kills Christians. China persecutes Christians. But this White House does and says only what is required to pay lip service and get a positive press hit once in a while regarding the harsh persecution of Christians in these countries.
Yet, America's tax money is now going to leverage the spread of homosexuality. One can bet that there will be no reduction in funds to so-called "democratic" Islamic states, even though Sharia is very clear about homosexuality. This administration consistently and openly defies the word of God by using the full weight of the US to promote evil. The Apostle Paul wrote in Romans 1:28, "And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not becoming." Verse 32 says, "Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them." What does this say about us who elect such?

Today Marks 70 Years Since the Bombing of Pearl Harbor

"DECEMBER 7, 1941- a date which will live in infamy- the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan."
Thus spoke President Franklin D. Roosevelt following the attack on Pearl Harbor by over 350 Japanese aircraft. Five American battleships and three destroyers were sunk, 400 planes were destroyed and over 4000 were killed or wounded.

President Roosevelt concluded: "No matter how long it may take us to overcome this premeditated invasion, the American people in their righteous might, will win through to absolute victory . . . We will not only defend ourselves to the uttermost but will make it very certain that this form of treachery shall never again endanger us."

FDR continued: "Hostilities exist. There is no blinking at the fact that our people, our territory, and our interests are in grave danger. With confidence in our armed forces - with the unbounding determination of our people - we will gain the inevitable triumph - so help us God."

(As a note, of the over 500 words inscribed on the new World War II Memorial in Washington, DC, the designers chose not to include FDR's phrase "So help us God," nor any other mention of God.) (Source: The American Minute)

- The designers of the World War II Memorial may have forgotten GOD, but we have not. Stand in repentance for this "mistake" and ask our Lord to forgive those who have inscribed this part of our national in error; they know not what they do.

Offer up a prayer that, even if it requires an ACT OF CONGRESS, these words "SO HELP US GOD," will be written on the walls of that memorial. Never again!

- " . . . the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits . . ."
(Daniel 11:32)
